Episode 224
Chicken, Alaska is off the beaten path, but they'd love it if you visited. However, a few things to keep in mind.
Chicken doesn't have electricity. They do, however, have a post office and a liquor store. (Yes, it's called Chicken Liquors, and the fact that the t-shirts didn't fly off the shelves confuses us as well.) We talked with Susan Wiren, who lived in Chicken for 8 years, about the unique challenges posed by living in Chicken, how the town got it's name and how she ended up there in the first place.
For more information, and for Chicken-themed gifts, you can check out the town's website.
