In today’s story, I am repeating these words and expressions and associating them with a sound so you can remember them easily: 

  1. Fermé (fair may): Closed (for signs on shops) 
  2. Ouvert (oo vehr): Open (for signs on shops)
  3. Entrée (awn tray): Entrance
  4. Sortie (sor tee): Exit
  5. Passage piéton (pah sahj pee ay tohn): Pedestrian crossing
  6. Arrêt (ah reh): Stop (for signs or public transportation)
  7. Tout droit (too drwa) : Straight ahead 
  8. À gauche (ah gosh): To the left
  9. À droite (ah drwat): To the right
  10. C'est cher (seh shair): It's expensive
  11. Est-ce que je peux payer par carte ? (ehs kah juh puh pay par cart): Can I pay by card?
  12. Combien de temps ça prend? (Combien duh tahn sah pran?): How long does it takes?
