In this episode of A Touch of Class, Will Griffith chats with Shannon Burke, the Ballinrobe native who produced one of the standout seasons in Irish amateur golf in 2025. An Irish International and one of the country’s top players, Shannon collected four titles in a single season, winning the Leinster, Munster, and Connacht Championships before finishing the year with victory at the Leinster Mid‑Am in Rosslare.
The Connacht win was especially meaningful - a title that had slipped away in previous years and one she was determined to capture. But Shannon’s season didn’t stop there. She also won a Senior Cup All‑Ireland medal with her new club Douglas, who completed a remarkable double in 2025, with the women’s team securing back‑to‑back All‑Ireland titles in 2024 and 2025.
On the international stage, Shannon and her Irish teammates claimed Bronze at the European Mid‑Am Team Championships in Spain, adding another highlight to an already exceptional year.
Shannon also looks ahead to the 2026 season, discussing the changes coming to the women’s schedule - and hints at one particular event she has her eye on.
