The Wheat and the Tares-Pastor Holly Dazey (February 23, 2025)
Awakening from spiritual slumber can transform your life in the most profound ways. Picture this: a room full of people, each seeking divine guidance and finding healing and deliverance as they awaken to God's calling. This episode is a tapestry of personal reflections and scriptural insights, inspired by a recent conference and timeless biblical passages like Psalms 23. We share stories of God's transformative power, inviting you to embrace renewal and walk in His peace, where testimonies become a beacon for spiritual growth and community.
Imagine knowing you were called by God even before you were born. This idea is more than just comforting; it's a call to action. Inspired by the scriptures from Jeremiah and Isaiah, we explore the unique purpose God has for each of us. Through personal anecdotes, we underscore the importance of serving God in every aspect of our lives, big or small. This isn't just about doing; it's about being set apart, embracing sanctification, and understanding our worth and value in God's kingdom.
Distractions are everywhere, but so is the power to overcome them. We delve into the parable of the wheat and weeds, using it as a metaphor for the spiritual weeds in our lives. By prioritizing time for spiritual growth, we can focus on the "good seed" of God's Word. Join us as we discuss the importance of prayer, community, and maintaining spiritual freedom through faith. Let the song "Spirit Lead Me" be your anthem as you journey towards a stronger spiritual foundation, free of entanglements and rich in divine purpose.
no-transcript. I love to advance the Kingdom of God. Amen, amen. And I don't know if you all know, but we have been to a conference over the last two and a half days and God poured out some mighty blessings on our lives. He also gave us a lot of revelation, knowledge. He also healed a lot of people. A lot of people went through deliverance. I mean, the power of God was moving, because our God is no respecter of person, and so if your heart is to have him come and bring breakthrough, he will bring the breakthrough. Amen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:And so I have been praying nearly this whole year that God would awaken the sleeper, that God would awaken those who have fallen into a deep slumber. Many Christians have you see it into a deep slumber. Many Christians have. You see, it's a spirit of deception. That's what Satan does. He brings deception upon our lives and our hearts and he begins to twist the truth so that we begin to believe his lies instead of what is true. Do you believe that His lies instead of what is true? Do you believe that? And the first thing you know, you're going down the wrong path, you're going the wrong direction, and when this happens, we get entangled in things that God did not mean to happen. Sometimes the Lord will say I want you to go this direction. And so you go the direction the Lord is calling you. And then all of a sudden there's a shift and God says you're not going to go that way, no more, I want you to go this way. That was just a season, and so each of us in this room are in a season. Amen, you're all in a different season. We're all in a different place. I pray to god every day of my life. Lord, would you please make me a circle. I want to be complete in you. It's never going to happen. I'm always an egg. I just turn into an egg, like I think. I think I'm striving and I'm growing and I'm becoming all that I can become for Jesus Christ. And the next thing I know I'm an egg. I'm no longer the circle, because you know what? I'm never going to get the finished work until I meet Christ in eternity. That's when I'll become the complete circle in Jesus. Amen, the complete circle in Jesus, amen. But he says that we are to reach for the prize of the high calling of God, and so don't ever quit reaching. Stay an egg till you get to heaven. Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So what I wanted to share with you first off this morning was in the book of Songs of Solomon, in 416, it reads Awaken O north wind and come, south wind, and blow up on the garden of my heart. Isn't that beautiful? Awaken, awaken O north wind and south wind, come, blow up on the garden of my heart. Amen. We're asking the Holy Spirit to bring each and every one of us this morning new life. You need new life. Get a little stale, get a little stagnant, get a little status quo. Blow up on the garden of my heart, north Wind. Let the Spirit in His fragrance lift our hearts. Let the fragrance of His garden be your aroma. Amen. You think that's beautiful. The Holy Spirit is bringing life and renewal to each heart and each life this morning. It's your choice. You can receive it or you can lay it to the wayside. But the Lord has told me today that the word that I bring today is new life, it's refreshing, it's restoring, it's an awakening word From your slumber. Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So Many, many, many, many moons ago I was at a New Year's Eve Prayer service and the Lord Spoke directly to my heart. I remember it was snowing and I was standing looking out a window, seeking his face for direction for Dave and I's life. You know I do that every day of my life. Lord, give Dave and I the direction, show us where you want us to be, show us where can we help grow the kingdom. Seeking direction. And so he speaks to me as clear as a bell. Revelations, whoopsie Revelations. He says we overcome by the word of our testimony and we love our life not into death. And I was like I know, that's for sure. And he said the, the, the ways of your life, holly, the crooked places, the straight places, the rough places, the smooth places, the breakthroughs, is your testimony. And everywhere you go, you share what I have done in your life, because it's going to bring breakthrough, healing and deliverance to all those that I choose for you to minister to. So see, that tells me I won't minister to everybody, I will minister to the ones that he chooses. And so this morning you are chosen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:And so a few months ago, on Wednesday night, I taught on Psalms 23. And I believe that it was an eye-opener, the beauty and all of the revelation that's in Psalms 23. And I'm just going to read it to you. The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. Did you hear that we lack nothing? Because of God's provision, because of his glory. You know, a lot of us may be rich in things of this earth, a lot of us are rich in the treasures of the Lord, and blessed are those that have it both. Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:But when you are walking with the Lord, his word tells us right there, you shall lack no good thing, you shall not want anything. When you are walking with the Lord, when you're being led by the Lord, when you're being obedient, there's the kicker right To be obedient. Number two he makes me lie down in the green pastures and he leads me beside the quiet waters. Now, when God says to me Holly, come to the green pasture, lay down near the waters, this is what he's saying to me Girl, you have spun out of control. Saying to me girl, you have spun out of control. You have went 90 miles an hour when I've called you to go 50. You have just overextended, excuse me, my grace. So now it's time for you to come lay in my green pastures near the water of the living word. See, when he calls us to the green pasture, he is calling us to a place of refreshment, a place where he's going to restore us, a place where he's going to give us revelation. But if I continue going 90 miles an hour out of control which I do, and I admit it, dave is like get the lasso, we're in.
Speaker 1:But I'm so zealous about the kingdom of God. There's so many things I want to do that I don't have enough time in a year to get done, and so I try to do a little bit of everything. But I do know when you do that, something lacks in your life, and I've always been 100% in order Family, god, church, ministry. My husband never lacks, my home never lacks, the church don't lack and my ministry don't lack. But it's so important to keep those four God, family, church, ministry you have to stay in balance or you will tip. God showed me when I first started Table Talk that if my roots got bigger than my fruit no, if my fruit got bigger than my roots that my ministry would tip and falter. And so, slow and easy, steady, 25 years almost, and we've kept the balance. So you have to keep the balance in your life. He refreshes my soul and he guides me along the right path for his name's sake. So we want to stay on the path that God has called us. We don't want to get on the wide path, we want to stay on that narrow path so that we stay in alignment with him. Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:Even though I walk through dark valleys, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff. They will comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Is that beautiful when your enemy thinks that he has plowed you down, ran you over and left you for dead? Right in front of them, god will rise you up. Let his glory shine through you. Amen, amen. You anoint my head with oil and my cup, your cup, overflows. Isn't that beautiful. Surely, your goodness and your love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in his house forever and ever and ever. How far is ever? Forever, amen, forever, amen, amen. So so just let the Psalms 23 just sink into us for a minute of all the wonderful blessings and promises that he has in there for us. Amen.
Speaker 1:So then we're going to look at the shepherd. How, the how, our good shepherd in psalms 23 takes care of us. He loves us, he loves each and every one of us, and he will leave the 99 to go get the 1. Are you so thankful that he did that for you, for me, because let me tell you something about sheep. Sheep, they're not the brightest candle on the cake, they're just not. And so they're easily frightened. They're just not, and so they're easily frightened. They're easily intimidated. You know, they get their little head stuck in fences, they get caught in the thicket. They follow another sheep, they just follow that sheep, follow that sheep Boop Right off the cliff Boop. Maybe ten of them Because they're following the sheep instead off the cliff Boop. Maybe 10 of them because they're following the sheep instead of the shepherd.
Speaker 1:Amen, when that little sheep gets caught his head in that fence or he gets caught in that thicket, do you know what he's thought? Ah, look at that pasture field over there, man, does it look like it's got good oats and greens on it? I think the sun's brighter there. Hey, you want to go with me? Let's run over to that field, let's go over to that pasture. Well, it ain't no different. It ain't no different over here. Oh, I don't know how to go back. I'm scared. Where's my shepherd? I'm scared. And so the little sheep tries to wander its way back, it gets caught up in the thicket. And, oh my gosh, here comes the predator, the wolf, and he's right ready to eat that little lamb. And what happens? The shepherd lifts that little lamb up, puts him in his arms and cuddles him and he says come on, let's go home. Let's go home, my sheep.
Speaker 1:Amen, the good shepherd. He loves us so much. You know how much he loves you. He gave his life for you. That's how much he loves you that you and I could have eternal life. For how long? Ever and ever and ever. Amen. So there it was. He left the 99 to go get me. I am ever grateful that he left the 99 and came and got me. Do you think he only had to come get me once? No, there's many times. He left the 99 to bring me back to the fold, because you know why I'm not the brightest candle on the cake. Amen, amen. And so God values each one of us so much that he will bring us back when we have wandered off, that he will bring us back when we have wandered off. The shepherd rejoices when he finds the one. He's happy. He's exalting you because he found you. Amen. He does not desire for one of us to go to a devil's hell. He does not desire. He desires us to be in the fold, amen.
Speaker 1:Now we're going to switch gears a little bit and we're going to talk about he knows my name. Does he know your name? He knows my name Louder, talk louder. Move my thingy up like this that better. Okay, I am soft spoken Unlessder Talk louder. Move my thingy up like this that better. Okay, I am soft spoken, unless I'm at home.
Speaker 1:In Jeremiah 1, it says Before I was formed in my mother's womb, before you were born, think of that. He set us apart, made us different, for a plan and a purpose, amen. So after he went and saved us and knows our name, now he's got a plan and a purpose. Amen, amen, amen, because you are unique and called by name. Now, have you ever heard him call you by name? Have you ever heard it? Amen. Once you hear it, you'll never forget it. You will know when the Father says Dan, dan. It'll be subtle and it'll be straightforward Tanya, tanya, penny, you'll know. You'll know, you'll know, amen.
Speaker 1:God has a plan for our life and we should seek to fulfill that plan, amen. You'll think, oh, I just sit here, I just come to church. That's what I do. I just come to church. I come to church on Sunday. I just come to church. Do you hear me? I just come to church.
Speaker 1:Oh, I don't get involved. No, I don't do that. Teach Sunday school? No, god's never called me to that. Oh, help clean? No, no, no, I don't do that. No, no, no. Smudge on the window oh, I'll get somebody to wash that.
Speaker 1:See, god's called each and every one of us to serve. We are called to serve Not Pastor Michael, not Pastor Roger, not me, not organic church, but God. We are called to serve him, whether it be a small or big. You are called to serve Because of who he is. You should want to serve because of who he is, amen.
Speaker 1:So in Isaiah it says God knows my name. Isaiah 49, 1 and 2,. God called me before I was born, while I was in my mother's womb. He named me. Now, what do you think of that? He named me Now. My sister, bonnie, named me, but he evidently put Holly in her heart, right, holly Ann, that's what my sisters call me. Holly Ann, it's not just Holly, it's Holly Ann. But he knows my name, he knows your name when we were in the prayer room this morning. All these girls are talking about well, they knew my name. He knows your name when we were in the prayer room this morning. All these girls are talking about well, they knew my name. Well, hey, that person knew my name. I'm like how ironic we're going to talk about. He knows my name, he knows your name, amen.
Speaker 1:See, when God knows your name, you have an intimate relationship with him. It's unique, just between you and him. No, he don't have a relationship with me like he does, dave. My relationship with him and Pastor Michael's looks totally different, and so it's unique, you're unique. It's totally different, and so it's unique, you're unique.
Speaker 1:He called us to be set apart, sanctified and made different. Amen. Years ago in the prayer room, that's what we prayed, I mean probably 25, 30 years ago. Oh Lord, please sanctify us, set apart, make us different. Father, make us different for the sake of the kingdom. And then people are like you know that Holly, daisy, she's different. And then I'm like well, how could they say that about me? Well, I pray to be different in the sight of the people for the sake of the kingdom, amen.
Speaker 1:So if you're going to pray, to be sanctified, set apart and made different. Then you're going to get a little static in your life, you know, and it isn't always going to feel good, but we're among good company, because everything didn't feel good to Jesus either. Amen. You know, when you have trials and tribulations, you're in good company because that's what Jesus had. You know. So don't, despite those times, those are times where God's going to grow you, he's going to manicure you, he's going to fit you into the place that he has planned and purposed for you. So don't let those dry, desolate times discourage you and be like that little sheep and run over to the other pastor, because I'm here to tell you ain't nothing any better over there than it is here. It's all the same cat's kittens. Amen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So God sees that we are unique and he knows that each and every one of us we might not know this, but he knows that each and every one of us have worth and value. Each and everybody in this sanctuary this morning has worth and value for this world, for his kingdom. The smallest act of kindness can bring the greatest change in people's life. When I was a young girl, I went to the Denison Foursquare and I was just hitting and missing, you know, just a hit and a miss. And I was getting ready to walk out the door that day and the pastor's wife grabbed my arm and she said Holly, we'd like to see more of you around here. Well, ding dong daddy, that's all I needed was to know that somebody wanted that I had value, that I had worth. And then the next thing that happened was oh my goodness, they was going roller skating. Well, that was my number one thing and I was in. And that's all it took to get here today was for somebody to say we'd like to see more of you around here. Value, worth, you each have. That. You know. They edified me, they uplifted me, they encouraged me, they exhorted me, and the body of Christ needs that. You know. They edified me, they uplifted me, they encouraged me, they exhorted me, and the body of Christ needs that. Amen. And so he knows my name and my God knows me at the very core, the very core of me. He knows me, core, the very core of me, he knows me.
Speaker 1:So yesterday morning, that's all testimony, guys. So yesterday morning, about a quarter after six, I wake up, I no sooner have my eyes open and the Holy Spirit is right there and he says to me in such a tone they're not yours, they're mine. I said what? They're not yours, they're mine. He said everything in they're not yours, they're mine. He said everything in this world is mine. Everything you have is on Lend. Everything we have is on Lend, I'm telling you.
Speaker 1:He took me behind the woodshed and he gave me a good talking to and it put me in a mood. Do you ever get taken behind the woodshed once or twice in your life? It's about my third time, you know. He told me a few weeks ago hunker down, girl, find your refuge, it's coming. When God talks to you like that, those are attention getters. Do you ever have your mom go right here on the side of your hair and give you a little pull? That's an attention getter. That was an attention getter. They're not yours, they're mine. Nothing is yours, nothing. Everything you have is on loan from me. That's powerful guys, very powerful.
Speaker 1:And so I go down to the meeting room where all these people are. I don't want to be there. I don't even want to be around them. I don't even like myself. Yesterday morning, how could anybody else like me, you ever get there? I can't stand me. How could anybody else stand me and ever get there? I can't stand me. How could anybody else stand me? And now I'm supposed to enter into worship. You know they have me in the front row.
Speaker 1:I'm one of the pastors, I'm having issues and so I sat with a friend in the back for a while and we just chit-chatted and fellowshiped and pretty soon I made my way up front and I'm trying to enter into worship. I'm trying to press through and all of a sudden he speaks to me. He says go to the green pasture, lay beside the water. Let me wash you with my word. To the point. Tanya came to me and said Pastor Holly, are you okay? I'm like, I'm fine. Thank you for asking. I am fine. God's just doing the work in me. It's good Because you know I wasn't that zealous person. Come on, let's go. I was quiet before the Lord and I'm sitting there and I'm sitting there, just God.
Speaker 1:In our life, like I said earlier, I am always asking for direction. I need direction. I need direction for Table Talk, ministries, like in my personal life. I'm solid, but Table Talk has always been up in the air. It's just I want more for it. You know, because I'm going 90 miles an hour and all of a sudden, y'all can believe this or not, but this is the truth of anything I've ever seen in the spirit in my life. They are praising and worshiping. You know how loud that gets? Loud, loud, loud. And I'm just standing there seeking his face beside the still waters, just meditating on the word of God, and all of a sudden I hear Holly Above the worship. Holly and I looked and what I saw? Unbelievable. There's Jesus. He has on an oatmeal color gown with a brown wrap around it and he is standing in a field of wheat and this weed is blowing. And he says I'm here. I'm like, oh my gosh, whatever in the world could that mean? I am telling you life-changing, life-changing. So I press into worship. They pray for everybody. We have deliverance on one of our friends.
Speaker 1:The day goes on and here is a spiritual mother of mine Actually, it's Judy that's going to speak next week and I said to her I said Judy. I said I've seen the most amazing thing. I said Jesus was standing in a field of wheat on a mount and he said here I am, I'm right here. And he said here I am, I'm right here and Judy said oh, holly, that's the weed in the terror Right, the weed in the terror, terror. And I'm like well, what's that? And she's like well, honey, you're the weed. I said I'm the weed, I'm the weed. I said, what? Said what's the terror? She said it's the weeds. I said, oh my gosh, thank god, I'm not a weed, I'm a terror. I mean, I am the wheat.
Speaker 1:You, how amazing to be the wheat and not a weed. See, I'm with him. I'm with him, and wherever he goes, I will follow. Wherever he leads, wherever the Spirit leads me, I will follow. And so, at this time, he says nothing, you do nothing. You serve me with all of your heart, amen, amen. So I want to read that scripture to you.
Speaker 1:It's in Matthew 13, 24. It says another parable he put forth to them, saying the kingdom of heaven is like a man who sows good seed in the field. But while the man slept, his enemy came and sowed terrors, weeds among the wheat. And when it went his way, but when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, there were weeds also. There were also weeds.
Speaker 1:So the servant, the owner, came and said to him sir, did you not sow good seed in your field. How then is there weeds? And he said to him the enemy. The enemy has done this. And the servant said to him do you want me to go? Do you want us then to go and gather them up? No, well, let them grow up together, then we will uproot the weeds so that the wheat will not be disturbed. Okay, so the farmer, the characteristics the farmer is the son of man, the field is the world. The field is the world. The seed, the good seed, was the son of the kingdom, the weeds was the evil one, the enemy. The harvest is at the end of age and the reapers are the angels. So the farmer who sows good seed in his field, the enemy secretly planted those weeds. And so how many of us here today Are wheat but the enemy has planted weeds in our field? Got you distracted? The farmer, the seed he sows is the word of God, the enemy he sows false teachings, evil influence. Amen.
Speaker 1:Anyone recognize that in your life? What are weeds in our life? They are all unwanted things that creep in over our lives before we know it has even happened. And as these weeds creep in to our harvest field, they choke out. They choke out the life, the life-giving flow of Jesus Christ. See, we are the wheat. The weeds are Satan and all that crud that he tries to grow in our lives. You know, the one thing that he sows, that he is so good is that deception, deception. See, jesus says keep your eyes fixed on me, keep your eyes fixed on me. Satan comes along, brings a little deception person. You know, it's like squirrel that's shiny Squirrel. Right, god says keep your eyes fixed on me, keep your eyes fixed on me.
Speaker 1:Ungodly weeds are distractions that prevent spiritual growth. Listen, with Dave and I, dave and I, we have to come to a place in our life where we are in a good place, where we are both growing together. All right, that right, dave. We both grow together here. But, like Pastor Michael said, dave is the head of our household and I do submit to him. But I have an opinion, I have a thought. We rash it. Sometimes I win, sometimes he wins, sometimes it's just an awesome compromise, okay, but when he thinks one thing and I think another, we pray, god, we want your perfect will in this situation, not Dave's, not Holly's, yours, because that's the will we will follow. You know, we will be led by the Spirit of God. Every decision you make in your life. You should pray about that. Seek God, don't just fly by the seat of your pants. You're going to end up flat on your face. Amen, believe me, we've been there Years, years, years ago, before we knew. But listen, you can't say you don't know, because Pastor Michael and I, we tell you. And before you knew, ah, you weren't responsible, but now you're responsible. Amen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So ungodly weeds, worry health, jobs, things that take our focus off of God and onto situations. Now listen, I know what it's like to be sick, but you know I was talking to a lady at the conference. I pray for myself. God, heal me. When I had acid reflux, gerd, I prayed for myself. I know the scripture, psalms 103, bless the Lord, o my soul and all that is within me that he will deliver me from all of my illnesses. Amen, pray for yourself. Go to bed at night, anoint your hands wherever you're sick. Pray for yourself All weekend.
Speaker 1:Diver's techolytis I'm telling you, it gave me the worst pain in my side and it moved down my stomach. And you might not believe it, but that pain makes you feel crippled. It's hard to walk. Every step is a jar. Every step hurts your tummy, it's unbelievable. But you're my healer, father. I thank you, father, that you know there is absolutely no diversectolitis in heaven.
Speaker 1:So how is it in me? It's not In the name of Jesus. I declare it's not Well. Don't hurt. I declare it's not well, don't hurt today. Praise the lord. Praise the lord. Pray for yourselves. Lay hands on yourself.
Speaker 1:Lay dave, he's sleeping. He has no idea. Half the time my hands are all noined up and I'm praying for him. The other morning I was in I oh, I don't know. I had some stuff come at me sideways and I was so frustrated when I went to bed and I must have really been stirring in my sleep because when I woke up he has his hands on my hands. Lord Jesus put the helmet of salvation on her. Clear all confusion. But thank God for a husband that will do that, amen. Thank God for a wife that will do that, amen. Thank God for a wife that will do that.
Speaker 1:Just like Pastor Michael said, nobody prays more for Dave than me. Amen. Listen, when you ask me to pray for you, I'll pray for you. But ain't nobody going to pray for you like you're going to pray for you? Amen. Nobody's going to pray for Dave and I, like I'm going to pray for us, like he's going to pray for us. Nobody's going to pray for Dave and I, like I'm going to pray for us, like he's going to pray for us. Nobody's going to pray for Tina and Mark like Tina's going to pray for him, because you know what we value each other. When people say, hey, will you pray for me? Sure, I'll get to it. No, stop right there and say, hey, let's pray right now. Let's pray right now, let's pray right now.
Speaker 1:And so the enemy comes to get our focus off of God. One of the weeds I'm telling you is a lying spirit. You know, in John 8, 4, 4, it tells us that Satan is the father of liars. The father of liars, and if you are caught in that snaggly little trap, you're being led by the wrong father. Amen, amen. It also says in Revelations 21, 8,. Now, this is hard to buckle up. There is no room in heaven for a liar. Little wait, little wait, little. Because you know what? There ain't no gray area in God. He's all light. Amen, amen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So other weeds that get sowed into our wheat is greed, jealousy, arrogance. Let me tell you about jealousy. I know I know, am I late? Okay, jealousy. Let me tell you about jealousy. I know, I know, am I late? Okay, jealousy. I sniff it and I can see it a mile away. If anybody has jealousy against me, you bet you I already know it, because it smells like soffa and it's a big old green fluff all around you. So if you hold jealousy, the Holy Spirit knows it, and by George, he gave me a gift. I know it too. And so lay that thing down, rip that root up.
Speaker 1:Don't operate in jealousy. It will hinder your whole life wanting what somebody else has. Well, maybe, if you just think, if I get on my own path, god might give that to me too, but I think I'm just going to stay over here and want what they have, amen. Maybe you desire to preach the word, maybe you desire to have ministry in the church, but you're so busy concentrating on what that person has that you do not begin to walk out your own walk. Dig into the word of God. God, how can I become a pastor?
Speaker 1:I remember the first time I ever told somebody I wanted to be a pastor. I was about 19 years old and I said to Pastor Dan Milburn Pastor Dan, I want to be a pastor. And he says, are you sure? I'm like, yes, I'm sure that's what I want to be, that's what I want to be, that's what I want to do. And from then on I've been on a path, but I never, ever coveted his ministry. I knew I could glean from it, but I never was jealous, never, ever in my life would I be jealous of Pastor Michael. I am how do I say that? Like I exalt him. I'm just like you go, pastor Michael, you go, go go, because in my heart of hearts I'm very proud of our pastor. You know, truth of the truth. He just kind of threw into the wolves, yeah, but look, look what God, look what the Lord has done and that you and I, we get the great privilege of sitting under his ministry and allowing him to shepherd us. And maybe he'll have to leave the 99 sometime to come get you. But you know what he will He'll come get you and he'll bring you home. And you know what? The prodigal. What did they do with the prodigal, my gosh? They got him a beautiful robe, put a ring on his finger, they killed the fatty calf. The best was for that one that left. I know that's a little different story, but it all chimes Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:And so another thing that we have to do to get rid of weeds in our wheat, we need to prioritize. Is that a bad word? Prioritize? Prioritize our time. I remember one time years ago we was having a woman conference and I had this ratty old watch and God said give me your time. There you go. From that moment on, god had my time. It was an activation, so just give your time to the Lord.
Speaker 1:You say, well, I have to work, I have kids and I have a house to clean, and I have this and I have that. Hey, I have to work, I have a house, I have a husband. But you know what? Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto us. Amen. You know, wednesday nights one hour. Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto us. Amen. You know, wednesday night one hour. I usually have everybody out of here by a quarter of eight, unless the Holy Spirit's moving. Wednesday night, one hour, out of your day, out of your week. What are you going to give this morning Two. Wednesday night one. What are you going to give this morning, two. Wednesday night one what else Any other time?
Speaker 1:Women's meeting, couple hours, you know, notch it out, stay with it, stick with it, prioritize your time. You know, in the last days it says in the book of Timothy that what Satan's going to do is keep us busy, Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, so busy that we can't even serve the Lord. And do you know, it's okay to watch it on the internet, it's okay to hear it through the phone or however you do that. But there is nothing like being assembled together with the body of Christ, being assembled with your brothers and your sisters. Help carrying one another's burdens, praying for one another, loving one another, going out to lunch with each other. You know we are family. When you asked Jesus Christ into your heart, you became a part of the family of God, amen. So when your family is having events and having dinners, do you go to them? Yes, so when your church family has an event or a dinner, should you come to it? Yes, make yourself available If the doors are open. Be in church. It's going to be lots better than watching that. Hey, 911, chicago Met, chicago. What Fire? Because you know those are on Wednesday night. Yeah, so isn't it better to be in the presence of God than in the presence of, I'm going to say, cbs? I don't know, I'm just saying Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:So how do we uproot these ungodly weeds? First of all, we practice discipline. Father God, I am determined that this year I am going to do such and such and such for you. Then carry through, not just the first week of January, not the third week of January. Come July, say whoo-hoo, I'm still doing it, jesus, I'm still on track with you. I got my eyes fixed on you, jesus, I'm not being distracted. That should fuel your fire. That should give you some serious whoo smoke in the spirit.
Speaker 1:Amen, do you look at it that way? Do you look at it that way? Well, there's a new perspective. You know, we have to recognize the weeds that have taken root in our life. But God, he is patient. Aren't you thankful he's patient with us? I'm thankful he's patient with us. You know he gives us time. Then he might take you behind the woodshed a little bit if you don't smarten up real quick, you know, and go back here and give you the business. Martin up real quick, you know, back here and give you the business.
Speaker 1:So I think, a weed that we really need to uproot and rip out is surrender. Because that's what we have to do to get over our busyness, to get over distractions, to get over blowing with the wind. We have to surrender. This morning in the prayer room, I asked them to build an altar up on their hearts this morning and surrender all to Jesus. Surrender all them things that keep you so busy, all those things that get you distracted. You know Satan is not going to bring something to you that looks like an old piece of dirt. Would you be interested in a chunk of dirt? Would you be interested in a chunk of dirt? Would you be interested in an old rock? Would you be interested in a pound of dirt this high? No, but if he brings something to you that's shiny and pretty and bright and sparkling, that's distraction. Somebody's saying to you well, we will probably do this for you. This could possibly happen. Who's speaking to you? Is that weeds? That's weeds. And so we need to surrender our hearts and our lives and make God first place. Amen, because I'm telling you on that mount, with all that beautiful wheat and my Jesus saying I'm over here. I'll never forget it.
Speaker 1:Life changing, life changing. Did I have to go through a rough patch to get there, of course, but I had perseverance and I pressed in and I trusted that he wasn't going to leave me because my mind had that undeception. Do not let the enemy bring deception into your life. If you feel that how that works is with deception of people, when you're with the people you're supposed to be with, you feel awesome, but when you're with people that you're just acquaintance with, you get off and you feel that off. And then you come back over here with your people and you're like, oh yeah, this happens in families, you have that in your families. Or you have people in your families where you're just off and then you come over here. It's good. So this to me, this is the wheat or this is the wheat. So it's your choice today whether you want to live among the wheat, the beautiful wheat. I'm beautiful and Jesus saying I'm over here. That's amazing to me. I know it happened to me. I know it happened to me and I pray you never have to go that route where he'll say that to you, but just have that experience with Christ. Amen, amen. So let's begin to uproot. See something else? Oh, another route. God wants you and I to have an awesome root system.
Speaker 1:Psalms 1 talks about the tree that is planted by the living water and its roots run deep and its leaves never wither. Never wither, because they're by the living water, they're by the word of the Lord, and that word nourishes them, keeps them strong. Amen. That's where I want to be. It's by the river of the living word of God, amen, amen. So we have to fix our eyes on Jesus. We have to learn to forgive, and that don't mean you forget, but that means you forgive. You lay that offense down and you ask God to forgive you in that area, and that might take you a year, but someday you'll look back at that and it won't hurt like it did, amen. So this is my last scripture Galatians 5.1.
Speaker 1:Steadfast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free. Do not be entangled again with bondage. Do not get entangled in those weeds. Don't let them weeds get wrapped around. You know what them weeds will grow. You in one place. Hold you right there. You cannot move forward in the kingdom of God. Do not get entangled, do not get entangled. Do not get entangled.
Speaker 1:God wants you and I to make spiritual progress and walk in freedom. He wants the yoke of bondage to be broken off of us and he wants us to be able to stand steadfast in our liberty and who you are in Christ. And so this morning, my prayer is that you would remain in the wheat and do not allow those weeds to come and tangle you. That you would remain in the wheat and do not allow those weeds to come and tangle you and to get you off the plan God has for you. Amen, amen, amen. Well, I am going to close in prayer and then I'm going to have them play a song. Spirit Lead Me, and if you desire to leave, you may leave, but if you desire to stay in the presence of the Lord, I would gladly pray for you. Come up to the altar, just let this song, the words, wash over your soul and let it be nourishment to your root system. Amen, amen.
