Welcome to the summer community and events calendar. My name is Annie Emery. I am the communications and operations manager here at the Greater East Side Community Council, also known as District 2. We wanted to keep you connected with all of our fun events coming up this summer so you can make plans to attend. First up, we have our first annual Memorial Day Community Barbecue. This will be held on Monday, May 27th from 1 to 4 p. m. This is at the Hazel Park Rec Center, which is located at 945 Hazel Street North in St. Paul, 55119. This is a free family event. You'll find food, fun, games, and community resources. And we would hope to see you there. We are also looking for some volunteers, so if you can spare some time, we would love some help. We need help grilling and serving food and playing games with the kids. If you would like to host, please contact Giovanna, D2Giovanna, at Outlook. com and you can also connect with us on our website at greatereastside. org. Second, coming up in July, we have our renter forum. This is going to be held on Thursday, July 18th from 6 to 7 30 p. m. at the Hayden Heist Library, which is located at 1456 White Bear Avenue. We have the kaboom Play Center Build at Hayden Heights Rec Center, this is a big deal. We need all hands on deck. We Want to bring you in to help build this play area. This play area is being sponsored with a collaboration between kaboom Parks and Rec City of St. Paul with help from the Greater East Side Community Council. We need tons of volunteers and no experience is necessary. We welcome everyone and you don't have to come for all of the shifts, and we will provide food, water, and. There will even be a DJ, so definitely keep that on your radar and look for more information to come from District 2 and our collaborators. Again, this will be July 25th, 26th, and 27th for the play area, and we will keep you engaged all summer as we decide final designs, colors, and specifics with help from you, the community, Definitely want to stay engaged with us and the Kumbum project. This is very exciting. We have also an exciting lineup for our D2NU podcast. It's coming out again every two weeks. Our next episode will launch on May 24th. Look for that on all your players you can also access those players through our website. If you need help, please get in touch. We have several great episodes there in archives for you to listen to.
