Since making the leap from Australia to sunny Tennessee in 2018, I’ve fallen madly in love with both countries—Australia will always be in my heart, but I now proudly call the US home (and try not to get too confused about the traffic and weather). Raising my family here, I’ve realized that, just like Aussie BBQs, not everything is perfect in the USA. Hailing from the sunny south coast of New South Wales, Aussie Mike is a seasoned world traveler who’s called six different countries home—and somehow hasn't gotten completely lost along the way. He somehow managed to fall deeply in love with Nashville during a honeymoon in 2008—mostly because of the music, but also because he’s pretty convinced country stars secretly have a Vegemite obsession. A proud Dad to two fantastic girls, Mike’s biggest regret about leaving Australia is the beach—nothing beats the sun, surf, and sand. But he’ll admit, the food is a close second—especially since he still starts most mornings with Vegemite on toast, because some things just refuse to change, no matter how far he travels. Whether he's sharing stories from around the globe or cracking jokes about Aussie life, he’s here to keep it real, relatable, and a little bit funny!
