Speaker 2:God. We just give glory to the Lord Now. God, I thank you that you've given us this opportunity to come here to share your word with your people. God, our prayer is that you will anoint us afresh in this moment, god, to serve your people what it is that you have in mind for them. In the mighty name of Jesus and then, god, we pray that your people will have ears to hear what the spirit of the Lord has to say and then God, I want to receive your word, right in the place where they are, that they will make the change, hallelujah, that is necessary for them to be everything you've called them to be.

In the name of Jesus, in your life, I just feel like rebuking the enemy off of somebody right now and telling you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. I don't know what you're up against, but I believe your back is up against the wall and some things and some negotiations and some contracts and some dealings Rent is due, some things going on in court. In the mighty name of Jesus, I just decree the favor of the Lord on your life. This is not the end. This is a turnaround, hallelujah. You may be coming out of a closed chapter, but what I need you to know is that you're opening up a new book in the name of Jesus, and I want you to know, though it may look bleak in front of you and though you may be dealing, hallelujah, with some terror in your life, I want you to know you're going to survive and you're coming out of this to the glory of God, and there's a story in your belly that shall make it onto the pages and make it onto TV, and make it onto media and make it onto Instagram that God's going to use you to his glory, joseph. He's going to use you. Daniel, he's going to use you to his glory, joseph, he's going to use you. Daniel, he's going to use you. Shadrach, he's going to use you. Moses, he's going to use you. Elijah, he's going to use you. Paul, he's going to use you. Deborah, he's going to use you. Mary, he's going to use you. Hallelujah. Martha, he's going to use you. Hallelujah, glory to God. Sarah, he's going to use you. Asila and Procola, he's going to use you in the mighty.
Speaker 1:I just decree good over you. I don't care what you're facing and what you're dealing with. All your days are going to get better because we believe with you, we decree with you, we command it forth with you, in the mighty name of Jesus. So I got to let this go. You know what Sometimes you got to tune in the daily bread just to get a powerful prayer to move you through. I felt the anointing of God moving me to do that.

Speaker 1:Come on now. Prayer be the thing. If God is leading, the prayer be the thing.
Speaker 2:Prayer, be the thing God is leading the prayer be the thing.
Speaker 1:All right, so we pray. You came here today looking for a word, because that's what we have, and so today we're still in this series, pastor, possessing a winning mindset, and I want to let you introduce this teaching. But I will have to say to people we're not talking about the next three steps to make you give you more capacity to do something. We're concerned with you and the mind in your mind, hallelujah, which is your thoughts. The brain is the muscle, the brain is the organ, but the mind is the thought life of the brain, and we're concerned about your mind. Mental health is a big issue everywhere. There's enough stress to go around. We are fighting every morning, sometimes just to get up, sometimes just to go to work, to have peace, just to ride home with sanity, and not just get home and just quit and give up, not to just get home and climb in the bed or get a drink and just go to sleep, but we're also striving to have a mindset of success, a mindset to win.
Speaker 1:All of that comes down to having your mind renewed, like the mind of Christ. So when we talk about a winning mindset, this is not just nine more strategies for you to do something, but it is about becoming who God has called you to be, and we think in order to do that, you have to have the mind of Christ coming. Who God has called you to be, and we think, in order to do that, you have to have the mind of Christ. So we've been talking about possessing a winning mindset. When you hear that and you translate that into your everyday life things you have to face, goals that you have set, sometimes the past that may be trying to haunt you how do you translate, you know, possessing a winning mindset? You know, in a practical, you know way, to even to even begin to think about that and consider that for where you are and what you're trying to do in life right now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know, I think there's several different things, there's several, several different things, and so much went off in my mind as you asked that question. And for me, I think I'll start with this one, because I feel like it highlights who I am, but it comes from this posture. When I think about possessing a winning mindset, I think about posture, I think about this place in this way that I'm choosing to be, you know, and it becomes more about being than it is doing. And if I can be in a posture that says I am constantly going to possess this, then I don't have to work so hard. Don't have to work so hard. You understand what I'm saying when I put myself in a place of a posture of having a um, a winning mindset. And so because the other thing is is because I don't like to feel bad, I don't like to feel negative things, I don't like negative emotions, I don't like any of that. That's just not my thing. It is the force behind why I work hard to maintain a posture of a winning mindset.
Speaker 1:You understand what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:Because I think we have to get to that place where we know these are the things that I want, these are the things that I don't want. And so chaos and drama and messiness and all of the stuff like I don't like feeling down, I don't like feeling depressed, I don't like feeling angry, I don't like those feelings. So I work at putting myself at a place where I can have a mindset that debunks those feelings. Now there is that reality that you're going to feel what you feel and I allow that feeling to happen most times, but I'm always because I have this posture of winning, having a winning mindset. It automatically kicks me into this process of putting the right thing on my mind.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You understand what I'm saying, right right, and so I think that there are again. I'll go back to the original statement. I think there are many things, but I think for me it starts with what my posture is and then it goes into what I do and don't want you know what I'm saying and I think all of that plays into really positioning myself to have a winning mindset, like I.
Speaker 2:I heard that report, I heard that information. I am aware it's not, you know, being in this place of being a loop, you know, elusive or you don't know or being ignorant to anything. It's yep, I heard that, I recognize that and I have these feelings, but I don't want to keep these feelings, right, you know. So I have to shift in my mind to say, well then, what do you want? Right, you know, I want to feel like that I can be an overcomer in this area.
Speaker 1:That's right.
Speaker 2:What does God's word say about being an overcomer? That's it right there, you know. And then I'm looking in the word for a word to then put on my mind. That's then going to regulate my emotions, even though I know what the information is, I know what the facts say, I know what the report is. I can see calamity in some areas, but in order for me to have what it is that I said that I want, I need the right thing on my mind. The right thing on my mind is going to produce the thing that I said that I want. Yeah, you know.
Speaker 1:I am.
Speaker 2:I'm a huge proponent of peace.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:When I think about scripture, the fact that Jesus gave his only begotten son and that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and he is the one that resides on the inside of us, then I have access to peace at any time, but it's depending upon what I choose to do. Do I lend myself to worry, Do I lend myself to the negative thinking or do I lend myself to worry? Do I lend myself to the negative thinking or do I lend myself to the positive thinking that's going to get me to that place of peace? As you know, the scripture talks about be anxious for nothing, but through prayer, with supplication and thanksgiving that your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God. The recipe there you know. And because I desire peace, I am mindful of that scripture and I strive to hurry up and get there when my peace is or when I find myself without peace being active in me.
Speaker 1:Wow, it takes me to a question. So our topic today is practical steps to cultivate positive thinking habits. So once something that you said say it reminded me ofing a positive mindset and all day journey and all day challenge it is, and why so?
Speaker 2:It is because things are happening all day. Right there are there's opportunities. You know, I think about the scripture that says we all will have the opportunity of being offended. Offense is going to come Right, somebody is going to always.
Speaker 1:I can't let us go past it. I want you to come, I need you to say that again. Say that again.
Speaker 2:Offense is always going to come.
Speaker 1:What's going to come Offense? What is offense?
Speaker 2:When someone does something against you. Come on, yeah, so we have plenty of opportunities. The word of God says that we have plenty of opportunities to be offended. The beauty is that we don't have to receive the offense. It's just like what scripture talks about the weapon will form, but it won't prosper. The weapon shows up, but it won't do what it came to do. The offense shows up, but in those moments we have to decide am I going to take that in Right or am I going to identify that for what it is and am I going to push that back out so that I don't walk away an offended individual? You know what I'm saying. So it is. So things are going to happen. Some is going to cut you off in traffic. Somebody may send you a text and they worded incorrectly, and so it feels like they're coming at you, but on the other end of the text it could just be because they're having a bad day and they don't know how to communicate their emotions.
Speaker 2:But if you are not mindful of maintaining a winning mindset, you can easily snap off, you know, and, and lose it over something. Somebody said that, just it came out the wrong way. You know what I'm saying. Or maybe they said it, admitted that way, yeah, but it's because something's broken in them, it's because something is undone in them. You know when we, when we realize and become convinced, as we talked about in the last episode, that we want a winning mindset.
Speaker 1:Well, I want it, I want it. Look here, look here.
Speaker 2:When I want something, we do what is necessary to get it and keep it.
Speaker 1:When we really want it. Come on and see the way you're describing this validates the whole idea that the winning mindset is a kingdom. Yes, because you're talking about overcoming offense. Yes, you're talking about practicing patience, self-control. These are not concepts to teach you how to be more successful at building a business.
Speaker 1:These are concepts to teach you how to be more successful in everything that you do, by possessing this overcomer mindset and possessing the mind of Christ, because he had to overcome it all and that's what gave him that winning mind. He was always winning at being God-like. He was always winning at possessing wisdom. He was always winning at possessing a humble mind. He was always winning at possessing a mind of care, empathy and sympathy, a mind of love, grace and truth, and that's what brought him into any dimension. When you have that overcoming mindset of Christ, you can move into different dimensions and plateaus and peaks and pinnacles and be grounded in wisdom and wise counsel and strategy to the glory of God, and not just for yourself. And what is what is profitable to the pocket, but more so what is profitable to the purpose, and that's that's what it's all about that was that felt prophetic.
Speaker 2:I'm going to just say that because you know, I like to. I like to make sure that people don't miss that. If you, you know, go back and listen, rewind, go back and listen to what he just said. That felt very prophetic to me and I don't want us to miss that. And, as you were saying that, one of the things that rose up in my spirit and I think this is a great nugget for us to take away is that Jesus didn't get caught up in the weeds.
Speaker 1:Oh, my God.
Speaker 2:He didn't get caught up in the weeds and sometimes that's my word Don't get caught up in the weeds.
Speaker 1:And sometimes that's my word Don't get caught up in the weeds.
Speaker 2:Sometimes our downfall comes in getting caught up in the weeds. Wow, and that's where we get messed up and that's where we lose our footing. To have the right mindset because we'll go digging all down in weeds. Ain't nothing in there, Ain't nothing in there, but probably some snakes, some more weeds, some things that are all convoluted and twisted up, some dirt and some stuff you don't even want to deal with. So why go hanging out in the weeds? You know I think about you know, when we talk, when we talk about the Eagle, we talk about the Eagle. They go high. We've got to get out of this chicken mindset where we're squabbling down here in the dirt and looking down here in the dirt at things. So what that happened? That's weed stuff. You got to rise higher, figure out what's happening up in the heavenly realm, what's what's happening at a higher level, because that stuff down there is not. It is not profitable.
Speaker 1:I'm about to say girl.
Speaker 2:Come on girl me.
Speaker 1:Girl, woman of God. Yes, sir, that thing is so meaty, that's so old.
Speaker 2:Oh, I feel that, anointing for it, I feel that anointing for it.
Speaker 1:That is so powerful? Because, as you're talking, I'm thinking about everything down in the weeds. We have dominion over? Come on, do you know that when you're talking, I'm thinking about everything down in the weeds we have dominion over? Come on, do you know that when you're walking through weeds, do you know how many spiders, bugs, worms, caterpillars, snakes, creeping, crawling, things that you're just stepping on as you walk, that you're just walking right past, that would scare you if you was down in the weeds looking at it up close? You're stepping on the stuff that would scare you when you bypass the weeds. Come on, come on, come on somebody. Come on and walk tall into where you're going. You know, as you were talking about that, it helped me to realize that when you don't have an overcoming mindset meaning you're walking in a defeated mindset and you're down in the weeds, your vision is blocked. Yeah, absolutely, because weeds are typically tall.
Speaker 1:If I'm in the weeds, I can't see, you can't see, See, you can't see. And if the enemy can snap your capacity to see where you're going, to see what the future could be, to see the good that lies ahead, you're already done, you're already defeated. He has already annihilated you and crippled you, and he has already pinned you to the ground and crippled you, and he has already pinned you to the ground. But my Bible says you are more than a conqueror. That means that that phrase more than a conqueror in in Greek competition embolizes and symbolizes a Victor who has his foot on the opponent's neck.
Speaker 1:That's what it means by more than a conqueror. You all the way under my feet, to the point. You can't even you dead. My foot is on you and you need to understand something you have dominion over those weed situations and weed minded people. So go ahead and walk, you know, tread on serpents and scorpions, and nothing shall by any means harm you. That's what Jesus told his disciples and apostles. And boy, we better get to this subject, because we are gone right now.
Speaker 2:we better get to this subject because we are gone right now, but it's good though. But it's good Because that's practical. It's still practical, it's still a practical thing for us to do Come up to the next level, my brother.
Speaker 2:Oh, my God, that's good. Take our rightful position, take the position that Jesus came to give us, and that is having he restored our authority, he restored our domain, and so we've got to come out of those weeds so that we take our rightful position in the kingdom of God. And I'm going to say this because I keep feeling it, because we get caught up in what we feel like.
Speaker 1:Come on.
Speaker 2:What you feel like has nothing to do with what is. I wish I had a mic in my hand, I would have dropped it. Because, just because you don't feel like you are more than a conqueror, my Bible and you just said it says that we have the power to walk on the head of serpents. So because you don't feel like a conqueror doesn't mean it's not true, because you have the power to do what you need to do. Glory to God. So I can feel less than I can feel counted out, but my Bible says I've been grafted in Come on.
Speaker 2:You understand what I'm saying so our feelings don't always dictate what is real, and we've got to move from the place of well, I don't feel like an overcomer, I don't feel like this, I don't feel like that. That is when we have to get to what we're talking about, and that is that winning mindset. But what did the word of God say? What did the word of God say and I'm going to tell you this is my one of my sayings too it's, it's, it's the word, is what the word says, and then it's what we say.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:And I'm just going to say somebody lying and it ain't the word, it is not God, and so we've got to let God's word be true and every man alive, and that includes ourselves sometimes.
Speaker 1:This makes me think about, you know, the practice of bringing my feelings and my emotions in alignment with my promise. Yes, I got to fear my emotions like a car or like steering cattle. I have to get into action. I have to activate you do, come on somebody my authority, because it's not just going to happen, man. I have to activate what I have been given to steer my emotions into my devotion. Oh yes, sir, I got to steer my emotions into my devotion. I got to steer my problem into my promise.
Speaker 2:I got to do it. I have to do it Because it's not going to just get over there on its own.
Speaker 1:Come on, it's not going to get on its own, it's not going to get over there on its own.
Speaker 2:And again, I think sometimes those are the missing pieces. We don't want to do the work that's required and that is why we feel so defeated because we won't just do the thing that's in the word of god to do. Sometimes we don't have the peace. We talked about the scripture last time, how, or maybe it was today, I can't remember. But the the um that we're not supposed to have anxiety. Right? Don't have anxiety, don't worry about anything. We can pray, supplicate, make thanks, I mean and have Thanksgiving. We don't want to do that part. Let every request be made known unto God so that the peace of God can keep your heart and mind. We don't want to do that part. We want God to do it all. We don't want to supplicate, we don't want to have Thanksgiving. We just want God to be. You know, just show up because you know I'm hurting. Just show up because you know.
Speaker 2:But what have you said? I feel the Holy Ghost. What have you said lately? What have you said? What petitions have you laid at the throne of God? What things have you placed before him? You want your child to be better, you want your job to be better, but have you put those petitions before the Lord? Oftentimes we're frustrated about not having results in areas we ain't done nothing about. Come on, we just internalizing. We're in the weeds. We're internalizing Down in the weeds. I can't believe this happened to me. Oh, this is messed up, oh this is unfair. But have you put the petitions of what you want before your father, who not only hears your prayers, but who also answers? So then, what are we complaining about?
Speaker 1:Listen.
Speaker 2:I'm just saying this thing is so powerful.
Speaker 1:You reminded me of one of the Psalms where David said this poor man cried out and the Lord heard me and delivered me out of all of my trouble. All of them, this poor man, cried out. So we have to learn the power of a collapse and a cry.
Speaker 2:Come on, because sometimes you've got to drop down to the flow, baby.
Speaker 1:If you can't push yourself to pray but you're going through and you're weary and you're stressed sometimes, you've just got to fall straight down in the flow. Because when he calls himself a poor man, that is an indication that he humbled himself. He categorized himself as nothing. I'm just this poor man. See, that is an indication that he humbled himself. He categorized himself as nothing. I'm just this poor man. See, that's humility. And see, when you collapse down in that flow, that's humility. You got to understand a collapse and a cry. This poor man cried out, tears in his face. He was saying God, if you don't move, I'm done. If you don't do it, it won't get done. I've tried it and it don't work. You got to learn the power of a collapse and a cry and give that thing to God, because if you don't, let me tell you something Thoughts driven by emotion will suicide you. Thoughts driven by emotion will abort your mission. Talk about a blindside. Driven by emotion Will blindside you. They will blindside you.
Speaker 1:So you've got to get over into the habits of practicing a positive mindset. Now we're 30 minutes in Ain't reading, no scripture. Let me give it to you here.
Speaker 2:Philippians, 4. Verse 8. We said that in the beginning.
Speaker 1:Okay, come on, pastor, give it to him. You want me to read it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you go ahead. I'm two chapters.
Speaker 1:Okay, Philippians 4.
Speaker 2:I think my Bible must have flipped. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things, and that's in the NIV.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, Can you, can you? Yeah, okay, so that was verse eight. Right, you know what gets me about this verse all the time I can't get past the word whatever. I love it and we're going to get to the deepest stuff, but this word, whatever keeps me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, whatever is lovely.
Speaker 1:Because God, because we all have a file of God's history of goodness in our lives. We have a memory bank of something God did that was good. And so this passage of scripture is saying listen when you're trying to make it, when you're trying to come through, listen whatever you can think of. That includes little big old new that nobody saw. Internal, external, whatever Listen. God has made such a way out for us. He said whatever Okay. He says whatever Listen to this. He said whatever OK. He says whatever Listen. He said whatever things are true, yeah, anything, just what's true. God is good. That's true. Yeah, jesus came for me. Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1:So if I take that when I'm trying to have a pattern of a positive mindset and I got negative thoughts and I'm stressed and I'm fatigued and I'm failing, I'm dealing with failure. I'm a hardest self critic. I have limiting self beliefs when all that is going on in my head, if I could just think on the truth that Jesus came to set me free and I'm free, that right there. If I drop down and it says if there's any virtue in it, that means if there's any good in what you're thinking about. And if it said if there's any virtue in it and if it's anything praiseworthy about Jesus saving your soul, go ahead and give praise right there. Go ahead and get that on your mind to shift you from negative to positive.
Speaker 1:Anyway, that, just that word. Whatever always gets you. It's not a category it doesn't talk about. You don't have to be elite, you don't have to be a preacher, teacher, you don't have to be the boss, you don't have to be on top, whatever, whatever you can think about. So typically, when I read through these instructions whatever things are true, noble, just pure, lovely you know I look for something deeper. I hear it, but it's not really saying enough for me. So I broke them down as I studied, I took each one and I added some context, some scripture to them for us to look at. So it says whatsoever things are true. Let's look at truth and how to use truth to cultivate positive thinking. So I have Colossians 3 and 9. If you can get that one, I could get the other one in Ephesians 4 and 25. So Colossians- Colossians 3.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Verse 9. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices. Oh my God, do not lie. Come on To each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices. That's good.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and to see I'm I'm balling on it A lot of ways with this, but but stop lying, that's good. Stop stop the lying that's going on in your head.
Speaker 2:Yep. Okay, that's so good, that's so good, that's so good.
Speaker 1:If it's not for your good, if it's not the word of God, it's a lie. Yep, first of all, I like that. Stop believing the lies of the world, stop believing the lies of the enemy, and listen. Stop believing the lies of pride and lust and flesh that's going on on the inside of you, oh my God. When we, when we, when we wear our masks and when we fail to be human and when we fail to be real with one another, then we're missing what that scripture says. It says stop lying to one another.
Speaker 2:Yeah, read it again, stop lying to one another.
Speaker 1:Yeah, read it again, pastor, stop lying to one another.
Speaker 2:Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practice.
Speaker 1:So when we put on the new man, we walk in truth. So it's basically saying to transition your life to a life of truth Yep, walk in truth, yep, Walk in truth, absolutely. Jesus says I am the way, I am the truth and I am the life. And if any man is to go to the father, he is to go through me. And God wants us to walk in truth. And when you walk in truth, you develop a positive mindset because you have no fear, you're not letting lies exist anywhere in your life, so you're not worried about what's going to come your way, what people are going to do to you, because you live a life of truth. I've been true, I've been true before Everybody. This is talking about practicing authenticity.
Speaker 2:It is yeah, I like that. That's really good.
Speaker 1:And practicing vulnerability.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Both of those are uncomfortable. Go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 2:I was just going to say both of those are uncomfortable and more often than not we have a hard time as people doing both of those things than not we have a hard time as people, doing both of those things.
Speaker 2:One of the things that you said, and then I want you to continue. When you were talking, I forgot exactly what you were just talking about, but this is the thought that I had. Sometimes we are blinded to our own realities and one of the things that I like to encourage people to do, and I've been doing this for years. In your prayer time, in your devotional time with the Lord, one of the most powerful questions or one of the most powerful things to ask God is Lord, show me me, show me me, because we can't bring before God the things that need to be fixed, that we don't think are broken.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:If we don't realize that we have some shadiness in our character, if we don't realize that there are some things about us that are really not pleasing to God and they've been, I feel, the Holy Ghost, they've been with us so long, they've been with us so long it's become a staple in our personalities Then we don't know to bring those things to God, for him to fix them or help us to fix them. So one of the things that I think is really important is that when we spend our time with God, no matter where you are in your Christian journey, start now, been saved 300 years, whatever. It is always powerful to say God, show me, me, because there's always an opportunity for your old man to try to start. Try to start showing up and creating ways in you that you don't recognize, because it's been a part of who you are, who you've been or who you used to be for so long you don't even recognize it. And sometimes we need God to reveal those ugly areas in our life so that we can do something about them.
Speaker 1:That is so powerful? Because what Paul is getting at right here in Colossians 3 is taking off the old man permanently and putting and putting on the new man and setting aside all the ways of the old man. See, sometimes we try to keep some of the ways of the old girl, that's right. Or some of the ways of the old guy yeah, especially when it comes to dating, did I?
Speaker 2:say that you did out loud. I'm getting ready to help somebody.
Speaker 1:God said your dating life will come together the way he wants it to when you stop dating like the old girl did. When you stop dating like the old guy does, because in all the areas where we take off the old man or the old woman, the greatest struggle is in dating Relationships. I want to say relationships because sometimes we are quote, unquote dating oh my God, the authorities on our job. Because we're trying to get more like the old girl does or the old guy. So we have all these niceties and flirts and you know we work to impress a certain person because we want them to give us something.
Speaker 1:But my Bible tells me the earth is the lowest and the fullness thereof, and the world and they that dwell therein. So I don't have to play the old man game and I don't have to wear the clothes of the old person to get something, when the new man has an abundance of things waiting on him in Christ Jesus as an inheritance of Abraham, under the Abrahamic covenant that God would be with me and then, where I go, he would bless me and he would multiply me. Come on in here, somewhere and everywhere my foot trod, joshua. God commanded a blessing to be right there. So in my new man, in my spirit man it's all things according to life and godliness, and my old man is all things according to death and corruption.
Speaker 1:Yeah, absolutely so we can't be flea flicker, old football player. We can't dab back into the old man, dab back into the new man. But Paul is talking about living in truth, in God and sincerity, and leaving that old person behind with all the deception of his or her of the flesh man's mindset and I think sometimes the hardest part of that.
Speaker 2:What just really hit me is that, because a lot of times, certain behaviors and characteristics were obtained as survival mechanisms, times letting those go for the fear of not being able to survive, not realizing that God's got us regardless. God's got us in ways we can't even imagine and the truth of the matter is and I definitely feel this straight coming from Holy.
Speaker 2:Ghost. And the truth of the matter is, is that those things that may have been used, they really don't work. Survival mechanisms, that's what we call them. They've been things that we've used in our past lives that we think work, and they really don't work. They really do not work. And God, I believe that if we keep trying to hold on to those, god's going to show us how much those things really don't work. And, I hear, for our good, they don't work for our good. So we've got to be willing to strip ourselves of all of the little things that we put together in the name of protecting ourselves, because he says I am your protector. He says in the word, the word said that he's a present help in the time of trouble, so there's nothing that we need to try to manufacture. Oh, my god, because he's got our back. Uh, goodness and mercy follows us all the days of our life. He's already encamped angels around us, he's got us covered and we've got to learn how to be okay with God's process of protecting us.
Speaker 1:Oh, my God. Let me read verse 10 here.
Speaker 2:Let me read.
Speaker 1:Colossians 3. You read verse 9. I'm going to read verse 10. He says it says I got to start with verse 9,. I'm going to read verse 10. He says and have put I got to start with verse 9.
Speaker 1:Do not lie to one another. Since you have put off the old man with his deeds, don't just say I'm born again and still have the same habits and patterns. And then it says and have put on the new man who is renewed. Watch this knowledge according to the image of him, who created him. Deeds.
Speaker 1:You have got to get fresh revelation, new knowledge, new thinking in your head about life and about you and about what God has in store for you and about your purpose and about who. You need the new knowledge. You need knowledge of God's word to replace knowledge of the world, of who you are, knowledge of the world of how to get ahead. Knowledge of the world of who you are. Knowledge of the world of how to get ahead. Knowledge of the world of how to survive when you become born again man. You got to change all that and you got to start getting knowledge of Christ.
Speaker 1:Listen to what it says. It says and is renewed in knowledge. Watch this According to the image of him who created you. You got to get the knowledge. You got to get God's thinking in your head about you, your life, your kids. Ooh Lord, help me right now. I wish I could preach this. I wish this was a sermon. I'd lose my mind up in here. I want some sermon, holy Ghost revelation about this right here, because somebody got a little bitty old man a little bitty old old used to be person on their shoulder telling them what to do all the time. You got to kill that person because that is a body of sin.
Speaker 2:I was just saying trying to keep them around, feeling like you need that in order to protect yourself, and you don't.
Speaker 1:I hear the Lord said this is why you got to read your Bible In order to protect yourself. And you don't. I hear the Lord saying this is why you got to read your Bible. No, this is why you have to read your Bible, because how in the world would you know what God has in store for you, who he has called you to be, how much he loves you and the angels that's encamped around you, and the power and dominion that you walk in, and the power of your words to speak and things come to pass, and how God calls you into purpose through dreams and visions, and how God worked through people of old. How do you know that if you don't get that knowledge in your head of how the new man should act Absolutely, how the new woman should raise her children my God, come on how the new woman is supposed to be a wife.
Speaker 2:Is it safe to say that that's your, your journey, that's your testimony? Because it's definitely mine. It wasn't until I delved into the word of God that I figured out who I was. I had no idea of who I was. I had you know. And then, as you, as you, as you learn that and you get that revelation and it's so much bigger than you can even imagine, and you're like on the brink. So am I about to laugh at that? Because really, are you going to just settle? Are you going to? You know what I'm saying? Are you going to just let that settle in? And I want to encourage somebody that, once you delve if you've not done that, I want to encourage you, as, as a possible said, delve into the word of God to find out what God says about you.
Speaker 2:If you came from, um, maybe you came from an abusive environment, or maybe you came from a beautiful environment, but there may not have been very many comments, very many comments about who you are. Maybe there was not reiteration of who God says you are, what he created you to do, or to call this on your life, and instead, maybe there was just given to you a roadmap that says, okay, I think you should be a lawyer, I think you should be a doctor, I think you should be this, and it didn't really come from the Lord, it just came from people around you. I want and it and it didn't really settle. I want to encourage you delve into the word of God and when God reveals who you are in his word, I want to encourage you. When it seems like it's so much bigger, just sit with it. Just sit with it and trust. God knows what he's talking about. As you go along the way, it will be revealed more and more and more.
Speaker 1:I just I summarize what you said with this delve into the truth of God's word, absolutely Delve into the truth of God's word. We, the scriptures, build up on that in Ephesians 4, starting in verse 25. And it says because we're talking about, how do I cultivate, what are the practical steps to cultivate this? Positive thinking habits. Now, watch this. This is going to be so practical. This is going to blow some people away, but pay attention. It requires consistency and determination to get there. Watch this.
Speaker 2:And this one is still on truth right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, this is still on truth. This is still on possessing it, said whatsoever, things are truthful. Talking about possessing that mindset, whatsoever, things are truthful. It says in Ephesians, chapter four, verse twenty five Therefore, putting away lying. Why does this keep coming up? Why does the Bible keep talking about lying? How much lying is going on in the world right now? A lot. Look how much God cares about the lies we tell, because he wants us to walk in truth, absolutely. Oh my God, do you know that in the Gospels, jesus said, when he got ready to ascend and go to be what God? He said he was going to send the comforter and he said he is the revealer of truth, because God has given you the Holy spirit so that you can walk in truth, because he's going to show you the truth and he's going to tell you the truth and he's going to show us the ways of truth. But the Bible keeps talking about lying. Like what, like. Stop lying, like what, stop lying. It says put away lying. Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor. Oh, that is so powerful. Look, for we are members of one another. Now, what's this? Verse 26 and on. So here's the practical stuff Be angry and do not sin.
Speaker 1:Do not let the sun go down on your wrap. That's practical, it is. You want to know how to have this positive mindset? Be angry and don't sin. This is how you cultivate positive mindset. Absolutely, because you're going to be mad, angry at people all the time, angry about this, angry about that. Anger prevents a positive mindset. It really does. Angers prevent you from focusing, from thinking, from having vision, from being fluid.
Speaker 2:It takes too much energy to be angry. It takes too much of your energy to be angry.
Speaker 1:Oh, my God, and it takes away energy. Watch this. Don't let the sun go down on your wrap Okay, forget, nor give place to the devil. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath Okay, forgive, nor give place to the devil, he says don't even give any place to the devil.
Speaker 1:What, yeah? Okay, we don't have time, but I'm going to read some of this stuff. Let him who stole steal no longer. We're talking about practical now. Don't stop stealing. Oh Jesus, wait a minute. People are like I don't steal, wait a minute. Do we really steal, right? Oh God, okay, watch this, it says. But rather let him labor, working with his hand. What is good? That he may have something to give him who has need? Look how practical it is your possessions, your wealth, your prosperity. Come on, we're talking about cultivating these positive thinking habits. We ought to look at money as a channel to bless others. It is, oh, my God.
Speaker 1:Okay, let no corrupt word proceed at your mouth. But what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to hearers. So get things on your mind that's going to bless somebody, to say that's beautiful. Not cuss them out.
Speaker 2:That's beautiful.
Speaker 1:Oh, my God.
Speaker 2:So powerful? It's powerful because the more we do good towards someone, the better we feel.
Speaker 1:Come on.
Speaker 2:And I think people miss that, because we sometimes and always say, no, I'm going to get you back for what you did to me, and we focus on being vengeful. But if we had a mind of Christ, if we had the positive mindset, then we would know that the Bible says not to be a vengeful. I mean not to be vengeful. God's like I will repay. That's not our job. It's not our job to be revengeful. So we have, we have, we have hired ourselves on for the wrong employment. Wow, you understand what I'm saying. Wow, when we take on, I'm going to get you back. Well, what if everybody got us back? Oh my God, for the things that we've done knowingly and unknowingly. You know what I mean. And so we have to make sure that we don't fall into that trap. I got to get you back. No, no, no, no.
Speaker 2:What about grace? What about mercy? See, those are characteristics of Jesus Christ. What about those things, jesus Christ? What about those things? But we have to tear through this flesh and tear through the old ways, and tear through the pride and tear through the arrogance. But sometimes the tearing is exactly what God needs for us to do to tear through all of your little fleshy ways that are not doing you any good for what he wants to do in your life, and oftentimes we are holding our own selves up because we won't practice the practical things. Extend grace, if for nothing else, because grace has been extended to you. Extend mercy, if for nothing else, because mercy has been extended to us. We did we forget, oh my god? Did we forget the wretches that we are? Did we forget, you know? And I think, if, if we can sometimes just take a beat, take a beat, I think we can get ourselves in a better place, a better headspace, and be more willing to give it, because that's going to make me feel good. The joy that I have to give and to share, because what happened is is that God showed me, is that he's created in me who I asked him to create.
Speaker 2:I used to be a very selfish individual. I was spoiled, so the world revolved around me and in my mind as a young person, and so I needed that streak in me to be broken. I didn't want to be that person. I didn't see how it would profit me being who I needed to be for God, and so what I said Lord, help me to be a giver because before I would give, I had to, you know, digitize some stuff in my brain. I was like, wait a minute, are they worthy? Do they need that? Do they? And you understand what I'm saying. Very critical, very, all of that. And God helped me with that.
Speaker 2:So now when I give, I'm so excited about giving and I give credit to God for that, because he helps me to transform my heart in that way. You know what I mean. And so when you give, it makes you feel good, wow, because now you've been a hand of God in the earth realm, now you've been an extension of Jesus Christ to be a blessing to someone who was in need, an organization that's trying to do something for the Lord, and God chose you. When God says, sow a seed, I get excited about that.
Speaker 2:Two things One, god, you know you can trust me. And number two, I'm glad that you want me to be a part of whatever this is that I'm sowing into. That makes me excited. So we have to learn these practical things, especially in even in giving, giving grace, giving seed, giving care, giving support. Yes, let God wreck your beautiful organized agenda, because he wants to do that, because he wants to know that your agenda will not become an idol. He wants to know that his word is going to be more important than what you had planned to do that day. God will work your stuff just like that, and we have to learn to be okay with that.
Speaker 2:Jesus, we do oh my God, give it, give it.
Speaker 1:Wow, I'm just. I'm blown away at the direction that God took this teaching and thank you for being a vessel and being willing to let God use you in that way. Again, we we're talking about possessing a winning mindset. We've been talking about how to cultivate this positive thinking. Building up is for an eight. Some things are true and just lovely good report. Think on these things and I want to suggest to all of you who are listening right now be sure to go back and study that Philippians 4 and 8 and go down through all of those practices, whatever is just, whatever is true, whatever is of a good report. Research each one of them in Scripture and the Scripture references that talk about being. Just Talk about, so that you can get a deeper understanding as we are attempting our best to present this on today.
Speaker 1:But man, oh my God, walking in truth, giving all things, taking off the old man. You want to talk about possessing a mindset. Take off the old man. You want to talk about possessing a winning mindset. Take off the old man completely, put on the new man and just practice repentance. It's not about perfection. You're going to mess up so many times. I mess up, but I'm quick to repent. I'm quick to repent.
Speaker 1:But see, you can't walk around sin conscious. That's what you don't want to do, because when you're sin conscious you are no longer grace conscious. I don't walk around all day saying, god, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm paying too much attention. I have. Every sin you're ever going to commit has already been forgiven. If Christ has has died for the sins of the world, he was even slain. The bible says he was slain before the foundation of the world and then he died on the cross for the sins of the world. That includes those who were living on earth before he got here, while he was here and after he was gone. Absolutely so your children's children's sins, when they accept Christ, have already been forgiven Absolutely. So you don't walk around sin conscious. That's the old man. You walk around grace conscious. Absolutely. That means I have already been delivered and set free.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I am the righteousness of God by the blood of Jesus Christ, absolutely of God. By the blood of Jesus Christ. So I'm no longer a sinner, trapped in a sin nature, always conscious about what I'm doing wrong. No, I am free in him. I am the righteousness of God. I have received unmerited favor and I am accepted right in this terrible flesh that I'm in. I'm accepted by God and in this beautiful flesh that I'm in because he gave me this body to execute his will. And even though there's no good thing in me, that don't mean I'm bad. I'm still good because my born again nature's inside of me and God is using this flesh, through my spirit man, to get his will done. Come on, somebody. Hallelujah. So take off the old, all of the old, please. Let us do this together.
Speaker 1:As we're winding down our time we have about 45 seconds I'm going to let Pastor A close us out. We got so much more to talk about. Speaker 2:You know. I think I would just encourage you to remember that it's a process. It's a process. It's a process. It doesn't happen overnight. We don't get there as fast as we want to be, and I've learned in 20, 30 years, however long, that we don't get there as fast as we want to, because God knows a deeper truth about us that we don't yet know. Because God knows a deeper truth about us that we don't yet know, and he knows what we can handle.
Speaker 2:He knows when we're ready, no matter how many times out of our mouths we say that we're ready. He knows where our heart issues are. He knows the things that are ahead of us. That's going to trip us up if he doesn't allow us to marinate or stay in the oven a little bit longer. So strive not to get frustrated to a point of anger and sin with the process, but just trust that God knows what he's doing.
Speaker 1:I love that. I love listening to your voice. You ought to be on the radio doing voiceovers for books and commercials. I keep hearing that God can you order my stuff, you got that voice. If y'all out there you need somebody to do a voiceover, read your book. You got to pay. I'm not here. You ain't getting it for free. I'm just going to tell you Come on, guys.
