So we're talking about prayer, okay. On on Thursday, we looked at why the believer should pray. Okay, why the believer should pray. And we looked at a few pointers and I gave you. I said, first things first, as a believer, there are some thoughts that will never come to you as a praying person. Amen. You know, your your prayer life puts fends off certain thoughts. So as you're praying and you're spending time with the Spirit of God, certain thoughts just cannot arrive in your spirit any longer. Because you've been so seasoned in that. Praise God. Some of you still struggle with certain thoughts because you you don't have a consistent prayer life. Praise God. So prayer deals with thoughts. Praise God. Thoughts of anger, thoughts of revenge, thoughts of bitterness, thoughts of offense. When you pray and you keep yourself in that place of prayer, it deals with those things. Even temptation. Temptation is handled when you have a prayer life, a consistent prayer life. How is it that? I mean, some of you remember when I was a couple of months ago, I was moving, moving here, moving, and the Lord said, There's someone hearing voices. You remember that? I said, There's some people that hear voices. And I walked to a young lady who was sitting in that area there. Do you remember that? And I went to her and I said, You hear voices? She said, Yes. I said, What do they tell you to do? She said, The voices tell me to kill myself. It's been going on for years. She calls them voices, but they're thoughts. The thought aggressively comes to her that you have to kill yourself. But if she had a prayer life, she would have created a barrier around her where these things cannot push through. It can push through to influence her to kill herself. Lift your hands and say, I'm gonna work on my prayer life. I'm gonna be more consistent about my prayer life. I'll be consistent about my prayer life. Amen. Sit down. Number two, I said there are some thoughts that can only come to you in prayer. I said, these thoughts are so pure that they only feel attracted to those who spend time with God. Amen. And no, it's not just thoughts of worship and praise, it could be a business idea. Amen. It could be the solution to the problem in the family. These thoughts can only arrive at your spirit if you learn how to pray properly. Praise God. So when you spend time in prayer, you open up yourself for pure thoughts. Pure thoughts, thoughts of purity, and it's such a beautiful thing because God will tell you in your time of prayer, He'll say, You see this one? Don't tell anyone. This is between you and I. You can't tell your husband, you can't tell your wife, you can't tell your kids. This is you and I. It stays between you and me. And you have privacy with the Lord Jesus because you're spending time in prayer. Are you not tired of your own thoughts? Alright, your thoughts, your thoughts that have been leading you astray all this time. Are you not tired of them? So you got to get aggressive about your prayer life and allow these pure thoughts to sit in your spirit. Amen. I speak over my children, and these are the things that I say. I say, um, you have a limit. You know, you meet some friends, they don't have limits, they can go. This there's something called too far. You know what too far is? Yeah, you pushed it. Okay, you you you you took it, you took it to another level. This is too far. And I speak over my kids and I say, You will know what too far is in your spirit. You will not, there's a place you will not cross. And those type of words set them apart. I'm praying for them. I'm praying for them. You might be the friend that takes things too far. And trust me, I've been around people like that. They take for them, everything must go a hundred. But a person of prayer doesn't think like that. Someone who's praying, they can feel it in their spirit that no, no, no, no, no, this I've taken this. I can't go, I can't go there. This is I have a limit to as far as I can go. Even in my anger, in Ephesians, it says, You can be angry, but do not sin in your anger. What is he telling you? He's saying, have a limit, have a limit. Say after me, I invite those pure thoughts into my spirit. I invite pure thoughts, holy thoughts into my spirit. I invite them in aggressively. Praise God. Sit down. Now I said number what was that? Number three, right? Two, sorry. Yeah. Number three, I also said as well, and this is for those who were not there, so you can write them down. Your prayer life can stop evil thoughts going to others about you. And that was a big one. You understand that one? So people thinking evil about you, people looking at you and thinking, I want to harm this person. When you have a prayer life, you create such an atmosphere around you that people are prepared for you, they're prepared for your errors, prepared for your mistakes, they accept you, and they show you favor. Amen. They show you favor. You can be, you know, some people are rascals, yeah. They're just terrible to deal with, terrible, but you find that everyone's bearing them. The people are burying them because that person has either someone praying for him or that person also prays. And I have this regularly. Praise God. Listen to me, listen to me. It can't be your testimony that everywhere you go, nobody likes you. You are a Christian. How is it that everywhere you go, nobody likes you? Why are you more than Jesus? And you're wearing it as a banner. Yeah, you know, I'm so special because everywhere I go, nobody likes me. They see something special about me. No, brother. No, brother, brother, that's an affliction. Can I help you with that? Look, when Jesus was angry, yeah, that Cain killed Abel, he exiled him. He said, I'm gonna send you away from the community, people. So being alone for a prolonged period of time is a punishment, is an affliction. God is in the business of what community. Now, some of you may say, but the prophets were alone. The prophets were alone for a time. Go and study them. Jesus was also alone for a time. Then he went around people. So anyone that you see who's not around people who's aloner, that person is being demonically afflicted. It can be that you are the only one that nobody likes, you're the only one that people argue with. You're the only one that has problems that's breaking relationships, you're afflicted. You're demonically afflicted. Praise God. You are, and the beginning of deliverance is noticing that I'm in trouble here. You know, I'm I'm there's some demons that I gotta cast out. As a believer, the power of God is on you. People must love you. And I didn't say they must love you because of what you did. No, they must love you without knowing why. They can even tell you, look, I don't know, you know, you're not really a nice person, but I like you. Yeah, you should have those testimonies. I'm not sure why I'm I like you, but I do. I want to help you. See, I'm a Christian, filled with the Holy Spirit, and my prayer life is creating an environment where I'm accepted. Yes, I'm accepted, I'm accepted. Sit down for a second. If you're not accepted by people, you cannot impact people, and you are called to impacting people. You are called to impacting people. What is winning souls? Winning souls is impacting people. Praise God. So that's the three I want to leave you with from Thursday, but I'm gonna go into what I wanted to show you today. So this is part two, yeah. So I want you to uh just label this your responsibility versus God's responsibility. So we're still on the topic of why the believer should pray, and I want you to just segment it your responsibility versus God's responsibility. Now, I want to start with this Luke chapter eleven, verse one. By the time I finish with you, you'll be a praying person. You'll be praying all the time, praying on the bus, praying in the car, praying in the taxi, praying at work. You'll be praying all the time, you will find beauty in prayer. You will see beauty in prayer, you will pray even when you don't feel like praying, you pray because it's necessary, the gospel requires it. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, sir. Luke chapter 11 from verse 1 says, Now it came to pass as he was praying in a certain place when he seized that one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. Verse 2. Amen.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. That's all. That's all. Now, this is Luke chapter 11. Okay, now I want you to notice this is one of the only ways I can explain it. Before 11, there's ten chapters. Okay, ten chapters. So it starts from Luke chapter 1 all the way to Luke chapter 11. Okay, now I want you to notice that from 1 to 10, Jesus didn't take time to teach them how to pray. And this is and Jesus is supposed to be God, He knows everything. Amen. Especially because of the prophetic office. So he was aware of the Bible says he knew the intents of their hearts, he knew their minds. So Jesus, from from chapter 1 to chapter 10, he didn't teach them how to pray, but you know what he was doing, he was praying by himself. As Jesus was praying by himself, he waited for them to come to him and ask. And I asked it, I asked the Spirit of God, why did you wait for them to come and ask you? And the Holy Spirit said, Because prayer has to start with desire. You must you must see the need for prayer before someone teaches you how to pray. If I'm some of you are here and you haven't seen the need for prayer, so as I'm talking, you're you're even feeling to fall asleep. You know, why is this guy talking about prayer? Because you don't see the need yet. This message is effective for those who see the need for prayer. Do you get what I'm saying? And you only see the need for prayer when you get into a situation where only prayer can help. Raise your hand if you've been in such a situation. Hey, you're gonna have to do better than that, brother. Raise your hand. Raise your hand if you've been in a situation where only prayer, you looked around and no physical means can help. So, what I'm saying is only the supernatural could have helped you there. You've been there before? Am I talking to the right people then? So, this is for you. You better listen and listen good. Listen good. You need this. Amen. Another interesting fact about this text is the disciple that asked Jesus didn't say, Can you teach us how to pray the way John the Baptist taught his people? No, let's reread the text again. When he stopped, one of his disciples said unto him, Teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples, as John also taught his disciples. So they weren't saying, We want to know the way John prayed. No, no, no, no, no. A lot of the times I have to put myself in their position to understand what they're trying to say. Okay, and I'm from chapter 1 to chapter 11, Jesus turned water to wine, he walked on water, he made a man that can walk, walk. He did a bunch of things from 1 to 11, and then at the 11th chapter, they're like, Aye, we've realized that if we're gonna walk like this guy, we have to pray the way he prays. They notice that the power, the thing that causes Christ to operate the way he operates, is his prayer life. There's a level of power you can never reach until you learn that your knees hit the ground and your heart goes to the Lord. If you don't learn this, you'll be begging God for miracles. Praise God forevermore. You beg God for miracles, and that's not what I'm trying to teach you here. One of my daughters had a situation in this place, in this house. She had a situation and she went into prayer, and then she came out of prayer, and uh we spoke and she lost her voice. And I said, What happened? Were you screaming? She said, Yes. I said, Why? She said, You know, the prayer I had to, you know, I had to go in. Amen. And I said, Okay, praise God. And she she said, Is there any advice? Is there would you advise me to do things differently? I said, if I was you, I would have sat calmly and said, Devil, get your hand away from my family in the name of the Lord Jesus, and then I would have spoken tongues and went to bed. Why should I scream? Why should I scream? Why no, why why should I why should I make a whole ruckus? I said I said I said to her, I said to her, I don't give Satan that much attention anymore. When I started my walk with the Lord, all the prayer sessions, you'd think that if you lock the door and you're from the outside, you think this guy's fighting somebody in there. But as I grew in the things of God, I realized I don't Satan doesn't need that much attention. I just have to tell him what to do and move on. Say, get up and then I move on and attend to my business. Praise God. There was a way Jesus prayed that was effective. Not to speak negatively of John the Baptist, but what that also told me is that the disciples noticed how John was praying and they said, This way is more effective. Jesus' way is more effective. John the Baptist did not heal the sick. John the Baptist did not make a cripple walk. John the Baptist did not cast out demons. So can I tell you something else? God told me your prayer life and your style of prayer is highly attached to the results you want. Depends on the results. If you want to live a layman's life, a regular life, pray normally. Wake up, plus God, minus devil, amen. I stopped my day today. My day has begun. If you want if you want to be regular, that's how you pray. Oh, you wear a rosary. I've seen let me not go there. Let me not go there. Oh, I've seen I've seen some people get into situations where you know they start counting the the beats. One, two, three. In fear. In fear. Praise God. I love it. Luke 11. It says Jesus was praying. The disciples watching him, just observing him. What was this guy? This guy's always praying. And then he waited. The Bible says Jesus stopped. So, yes, there's a time to stop praying. He stopped. Disciple said, Uh, Lord, can you teach us how to pray? Teach us how to pray. Now, let's look at what Jesus said in response. Yeah, how what did he say they should say? Let's look at this. He said, When ye pray, say, Say, our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name. First thing I want you to notice that Jesus didn't say, Pray to me. So, for all of you that go into prayer and say, Jesus, please, that listen to what look what he said there. Look what he said, he said, Our Father, who art in heaven, you're praying to the Father. Why is that important? Because if you understand who you're praying to and in whose name you're praying. It makes your prayer much more effective. You're praying to the Father in the name of Jesus. So you're praying as if you are Christ. So when you pray, God looks at you and sees Christ praying to him. Do you understand that? So you're not praying to Jesus. Jesus done his part. That's why the Bible says all the promises of God are yes and amen. That was for Christ. Says, our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will will be done. What does it say? Thy will be done as in in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. Okay, I'm gonna pause there and I'm gonna break some stuff down for you. Write this down, yeah? Write this down. When you're in the place of prayer, God takes you through stages, and these are the stages. It's only three stages, it's easy to memorize. First one is separation from. Second one is dedication to. Third one is filling with. We'll come back to the Lord's Prayer. I want us to go to 1 John chapter 1 verse 9. We'll come back to the Lord's Prayer. So remember I said the first thing he would do is separation from. Okay? Alright, go ahead.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, sir. First John chapter 1 from verse 9 says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Praise God. Amen.
SPEAKER_00And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, right? Yeah, okay. So I said the first stage is separation from. So when you're when you go into the place of prayer, you find that as you're praying, you start your prayer time, God starts to separate you from all the things that He doesn't like about you. He starts to separate you. How does He separate you? It has to come from you. This is your responsibility. You yourself are coming in and confessing. You are confessing all the things that you believe are upsetting him, all the things that you know are concerning you. You start confessing them. Let me show you how to pray. When you go in, you say, Lord Jesus, you didn't pick that up. I said you don't pray to Lord Jesus. Listen to that. Amen. Now, when you go in, you're praying and you're saying, I want to be cleansed from all the impurities in my heart. You say, Father, as I'm walking down in this earth, many things are attached to me. I see things that corrupt my heart and corrupt my mind. Father, I'm asking that you cleanse me. And I'm confessing my sins to you. I'm letting you know that I'm concerned about this thing. This very thing is concerning me. I keep falling into this thing and it's concerning me. I don't like it. You open up to him and you tell him, he's not gonna judge you. Amen. Why is it that you have to go in and be separated? Because God doesn't want anything to get in the way of the rest of the prayer. So when you're going in, you're telling him, God, get rid of this thing in my heart. I love this sin, I love this thing a lot. I find myself pulled to this thing. I need you to break it away from me. I'm concerned. This thing is affecting me. You tell him, Amen. If drinking is your problem, you tell him, Father, I keep drinking, I have desires to drink, and and I have potential to be an alcoholic, and I don't like it. If another thing that you notice about you is that you love thinking evil, tell him, say, Father, I keep thinking evil thoughts. Evil thoughts are running through my my mind and my heart, and I need you to help me with this thing. God cannot use a man who's worshiping his sin. God cannot use a man who's worshiping his sin. So it's very important that you go into the place of prayer and you open up to him and you tell him that. I watched a documentary of uh of um of the mafia. There's these guys who uh enforces for the mafia. These were the toughest, the worst of the worst. Amen. And one of them was saying, and I understood what he was saying, he said, you know, when you've killed as much people as I have, you have to go and offload because it starts to affect your soul. Amen. 47 confirmed kills. You know what it is to even kill one person? 47 confirmed kills. And he got the job done. He said, He said, when you've when you've when you've killed as many people as I have, you know, your your soul goes dark. And it's the same as not showering for a hundred days. Do you know that if you don't shower for a hundred days, your skin, your skin changes the tone? You aware of that? Yeah, because it's all that all the dirt, the pollution is on you. You haven't washed. So it's the same thing with sin. If you don't go to the Father and you speak to him and tell him, I'm concerned. Look, read that first John chapter 1. He says, He will cleanse you from all unrighteousness, he will cleanse you, he will clean you, he will clean you. He said, I've I've I've hurt so many people, my soul is dark, so I have to go to the priest and do my confessions, and you know what? That's how they got him. The priest was summoned, yeah, because it was a his specific case was a uh they they they they uh masked it as uh national security when it gets to that level, all right, they can subpoena you, you come in, and you can't you can't say that you know I'm sworn to to the office of secrecy, I can't say anything. You have to say everything. So he was going to the priest confessing all his kills because he was saying that his soul is getting dark and he can feel it. Even men on that level understand that they need to submit to God. You can't be that ignorant that you don't know that you can't you don't need to submit to God. You have to submit to God. Tell your neighbor, submit to God. Yeah, separation from addiction, separation from sin, separation from trauma, separation from pain. Ask God to help you with that. That's the beginning. By the time I finish, if you if you pray the way I'm asking you to pray today, you experience an increase of the power. Increase of the power. Remember, I gave you a illustration many months ago. I said, if you uh I was in a vision and the Lord said to me, Many people pray this way, and I saw someone with a match, and the person was you know when you try to do that, what is it called? You're striking, you're lighting a fire. Yeah, I saw someone trying to light the fire in my vision, and it just wasn't turning on. And the person was trying hard and was doing it with all his strength, still nothing. Amen. And the Lord said, the match is bland, it needs to be refined. When you have a refined match, you do one time, bam, the fire's on. And it's the same with prayer. If you're refined and you pray, you see results immediately. Immediately. Now, the refined process I'm talking about is this. I'm saying, offload, separate yourself from, don't go into the presence of God with baggage, and you're praying to Him with baggage. Reminds me of a Nollywood movie I watched when I was like 15 with my mom. You know, one guy was he's he was driving in the village and he saw this lady and he thought, Oh, she's nice, I'm gonna give her a lift. And she had something on her head, and she tried to enter the car with that thing on her head, and he looked at her and said, Take take it off your head. She said, I can try, I can try. She didn't understand that help has arrived. She wanted to keep that thing on her head. Praise God. Jesus came to help you. He came to help you. You don't have to struggle with the things that you know you're struggling with. He wants your your prayer life different. Praise God. So I said separation from first John uh 1 9. Yeah, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. First. The second is dedication to okay, so let's go to Proverbs chapter 16. Verse 3.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, sir. Proverbs chapter 16 from verse 3 says, Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
SPEAKER_00Do you hear that? Commit your works unto the Lord, and your thoughts, and thy thoughts shall be established. Let me read the amplified version. Commit your works to the Lord, submit and trust them to him, and your plans will succeed. Now, there's a big part here that you're missing out. It says, if you respond to his will and guidance, that's the key. I'll read it again. Commit your works to the Lord, submit and trust them to him, and your plans will succeed. If you respond to his will and guidance, that is dedicating. Now that's part two. So you go into the place of prayer, you separate yourself from those things that are haunting you and affecting you. The second part now is dedicating yourself. You're dedicating all the things that you worry about, all the things that you're thinking about. You dedicate them to him, you trust him with them, trust him with your problems, trust him with your situation, trust him with them, and trust that he knows what to do with it. All you've been doing is carrying them anyway. Yeah, let go of him, give it to him. Praise God, let go of your problems, give it to him. The Bible says, if you what if you worry, it will not add anything to you, but rather it will take away, it will take away from you. So, in when I get to this place in my prayer time, when I've separated myself, the second part, I've also now I'm giving things to God. This is the part where I enjoy a lot because I feel the burdens coming off. Do you understand? That's where the reformation process starts taking place. God starts to change me. How do I know? Because a person who is walking with a bunch of luggage does not walk as fast as someone who has nothing. So when I go in and I give all my burdens to him, he's freed me. He's given me the impartation of speed. I can move faster. I'm more effective. Because I don't have much to think about. I I remember there was a there was a there was a specific guy who is a he's a great, great businessman. Alright. I was listening to his podcast and he said somebody paid him a hundred thousand for a 45-minute uh um uh consultation. Yeah, and the guy was saying to him that he has five companies, and um you know the one that he's running at the moment isn't running as well as he wants it to run. So now this this businessman said to him, Um, Who's running the other companies? He said, Well, I've placed CEOs there um and I visit from time to time. And you know what the guy said to him? The businessman said to him, Well, that's the mistake you're making. He said, How? I'm not there. He said, You are there in the mind. He said, If you have to allocate even 10 minutes to think about that business, you're not free of that business. And I learned something there. Because up until that point, I thought it's about being physically present. He said, No. He said, even if you give your thoughts to that business, you're still there. Walking away from a business is handing it over to someone and you don't even think about it once. You come and collect your dividends and you leave because you know that the business is being run properly. So he said, You the business you've started now, your fifth business, will never be successful until you let go of the all the four and trust that somebody else will take care of those businesses. And of course, being a man of God, I started relating that to prayer. If I have to give one minute to my problems during the day, I haven't let them go. I haven't let them go. It's still affecting me. Handing over my problems to God means I don't have the luxury to think about this anymore. I am free. Say I'm free. I hand it over to Him. I don't think about this anymore. I'm done with it. You should get to the point where someone has to remind you, brother, do you know that this is happening in your family? You say, What happened in my family? Amen. Say, What's happening in my family? You don't know what's happening because you gave it all away. Learn to talk like that. Talk like it's not my problem anymore, it's not mine anymore. It's not mine. You get a report that someone that you love in the family is sick, hand it over to God, it's not my problem anymore. You don't sound like someone who's handed it over. You know what? You know, let me let me let me add something to that again, all right? If you've handed it over to God and I stand here and I say, I want the autocall for all the sick people, and you bring the picture of that person, you've not handed it to God. What happened yesterday? What happened yesterday? Amen. For me, once I hand it over, I don't need extra prayer from anyone else. No, I don't need extra prayer from any that no extra prayer would do anything for me because I handed it over to the king himself. Yeah, I gave it to the king himself. Number one, it's not my problem. Number two, if it's not mine, it ain't my business. That's it. That's it, I'm free. Free of the luggage. Now, disclaimer, do you know that it's very easy to detect a worrisome person? You can see it on their face. Amen. You don't need to be spiritual, you can walk in a room and you look around and you know the person that worries the most in this room. Because people that worry a lot they carry it on their faces. Worry darkens the soul. A person cannot pray with worry in their spirit. Yeah, in one of my messages, I said God speaks about fear and unbelief and anxiety and worry more than he speaks about sin itself. He says, Fear not in the Bible more than he speaks about the pit of hell. Yeah, fear not is more in the Bible than sin, it is in itself. Praise God when I get in prayer. If I feel a weight in my heart, you know what I do? I laugh. That's how I relax myself. I start laughing. What pastor? What are you laughing at? Nothing. That's the point. Do you understand? That's the point. I'm I'm laughing because I want to lighten my spirit. If I ask some people to laugh now, they can't even laugh. They can't laugh. They can tell me laugh. This is how they've been. Laugh now. Look at some people's faces. Is this what your parents gave birth to you for you to be like this? Laugh again. Listen, listen, laughing, laughing, alright. Almost a hundred percent of the time, almost a hundred percent of the time, laughing comes from joy. You understand that? So when you laugh, you're attracting that thing, that's the spirit of joy in your spirit. Amen. So when I want to relax myself, for Me to for my prayer to be effective. First thing I do is I break the because I I have a I have a mind. So there are things that yes, I'm concerned about, there are things that I don't like, there are things that irritate me, there are things that I if I had an option I would remove completely, but God hasn't given it to me like that. So if I can't move on them immediately, what do I do? I laugh first to relax my spirit because joy opens up your spirit for communication. He said, When you're happy, you communicate better. Praise God. Talk to those, you know. When I went to America, my uncle said to me, Yeah, first time I've I've seen an animal killed. First time I'd never seen an animal killed before like that. He drove me to where they this is we don't do that in London. You go to the store, you go to the thing and you pick up the chicken and the butcher's things are already pink for you, you know. I we physically went to like a place where there were sheep and cows, and and he said, Yeah, this is our food, we're gonna pick up the food. I said, No, I said, This is not how life is supposed to be. Why should I see my food alive? It changes, it changes, you know, my appetite, everything is just affected. I saw the cows, I saw the thing, and you know how they kill the cow? They put a a specific gun that that goes in the brain like this, and the thing drops. Praise God! And the guy was explaining to us the process. I said, I didn't ask for a tour. This is making things worse for me. So he was explaining to my uncle, yes, you know, this is what we do, and he says, you know, this is the section where we make the animals happy, we feed them because the food tastes better when it dies happy. I said, Wow, I said, Really? He said, I'm telling you, I've been doing this for 52 years. He said, if you kill an animal in and it's it was afraid, we throw it, we throw it away, we get rid of it. Those who have come up in Africa will tell you what I'm talking about. You don't you don't just slaughter an animal, no, you you make the animal happy. Yeah, you feed it, make it enjoy. It it cannot see the death coming. That's the point. Amen. So, if you didn't know, you work the same way. You work the same way. For good things to come to you, you have to be good first. Calamity uh follows bad-minded people. That's what it let me put it that way. Bad-mind, dark-hearted people. Calamity follows them. Praise God. So in my prayer time, I sit and I laugh first. I laugh and I feel the joy coming into my spirit. I laugh. I'm laughing. I don't have to laugh at anything in particular, I'm just laughing. And the joy is settling in. When I feel the joy has settled, I say, aha, I'm ready for communication with God now. Because if I don't do that, God will talk to me and I'll be very rude to you're thinking, ah, Pastor, you'll be rude to God. You will be rude to him as well. You'll be rude to him as well. Do you not remember uh uh Cain? You don't remember Cain? God said to him, Where's your brother? Am I my brother's keeper? He's asking God, Am I am I supposed to take care of my brother? Why are you asking me where my brother is? What a rude guy. But you know why he was rude? He was upset, he was frustrated. A joyful person cannot communicate well with the Holy Spirit. You cannot. A person who isn't joyful, sorry. So I make sure that I prepare myself for the king, for the coming of the king. I prepare my heart for the coming of the king, so that when he gets there, I properly respond. I follow the protocols, I make myself happy, I become joyful, and I'm joyful in there, and then after I'm joyful, I begin to lift my hands, and then I separate myself from dark things. All the things that I used to like in the world that I feel are creeping back into my personal life. I give them up to him. I say, Lord, I'm concerned about this. I've noticed that I'm getting annoyed faster. I've noticed that I don't like giving. I've noticed that my children are irritating me. I've noticed that my wife is irritating me. I've noticed that church members are irritating me. I've noticed that I don't want to go to work. I've noticed about this. I've noticed I start telling him everything. I'm separating from them, I'm confessing to him, and you know what he does, he listens, and as I'm saying it, he's handing, I'm handing it over to him, he's taking them. Say, God, I'm concerned about my finances. He takes that on him. And the beauty of Christ and the ministry that he gave us is the communion with God the Father, that God responds to everything you say. So when you say, I'm concerned about my schooling, he responds. And his response may be it is well. Don't expect God to explain. You're too quiet. Don't expect him to sit. Listen, he's he's not uh your friend. Did you hear that? I know the Bible speaks about friendship with God. Trust me, don't go in that area. He ain't your friend. He's not. Don't expect God to be doing long explanations to you and saying, Yeah, you know, on the 19th of September, I plan on doing this for you. I plan on doing don't expect that. Take what he gives you. If you say, Father, I'm concerned about this, he says it is well. Move on. Amen. Move on. Do you remember the scripture that I showed you that says Jesus said, I stand knocking at the door? You remember that scripture? I'll read it for you because we don't have time to go there. He says, I stand knocking at the door, and those who hear my voice will open the door. And I asked you a question. I said, How does a knock turn into a voice? He said, I stand at the heart, at the door of your heart, knocking, and those who hear my voice will respond and open the door. Go and read it for yourself. So what I was trying to explain to you there is that God's voice isn't always melodic. It's not like what you can hear now. So when you're in the place of prayer and you've said, God, I'm concerned about this thing, you may just feel more joy. That's his response to you. Amen. You may be in the place of prayer and you just feel a excitement. That's his response. Praise God forevermore. So when you practice, what I'm asking you to practice right now in your place of prayer, we're gonna do it for five minutes today. When you do it, be mindful of what you see. The thoughts that come to you are God speaking to you. Can I give you the last one? Okay, so the last one is the filling with and this is Romans chapter 15 to verse 13.
SPEAKER_06Thank you, sir. Romans chapter 15 from verse 13, it says, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in his promises.
SPEAKER_00Amen. That's nice, isn't it? May the God of hope fill you with all joy. What did I say to you earlier on? All joy and peace in believing that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in his promises. So at this part, you're filling yourself up with the word, praise God forevermore. This is where I'm gonna adjourn. Because I do understand that this message is a bit complicated. Was it a bit complicated? For the newbies, it was a bit complicated. Yeah, it was. Amen. So the Bible says, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace. So this is where I want you to sit on now before we pray. Do you understand? So we're gonna do that exercise. You're all gonna laugh and laugh and laugh. Just for a minute, you're gonna laugh. Then after laughing and relaxing, you're gonna bless him. After blessing him, you're gonna repent. After repenting, you're gonna speak in tongues. From the tongues, the remmer will come. After the remor, you're gonna thank him. Amen. It's gonna be such a good five minutes of prayer. We're just gonna it's just gonna be five minutes. Okay, it might be ten. It might be ten. It might be ten. Because sometimes we get in and we just keep going. Amen. Alright. Alright, now before because because this is a prayer, I'm teaching you about how to pray, and this will go up on the podcast. I want to do a quick QA section just for two minutes. You can ask questions if you're concerned about anything to do with prayer. Please don't ask anything other than prayer. Amen. So if you have a question to do with prayer, you can ask. I will answer it and then we'll go straight into the place of prayer. Very important. Okay, yes, we have a question at the back there. Okay. Go go to Tumi first, then we'll go to Don, then we'll come to Ijano.
SPEAKER_04Um, thank you, sir. So um earlier um in the sermon, you had said talked about not giving Satan um too much of your energy or time um through you know shouting or losing your voice through prayer and things like that. So I wanted to ask when is it appropriate to pray in that type of way? So the shouting and the exertion of energy?
SPEAKER_00That's a very good question. It's appropriate to pray like that when the spirit leads. I pray in that manner when I feel anger. So, and I know the anger is coming from the spirit, it's not physical anger, it's not something happened and I'm angry. It's I go in there and I feel an anger, but this is a holy anger. It's not it doesn't make me want to hurt anyone, but it makes me want to subdue Satan. Like I'm I'm I want to put him down. Then you may find me praying like that for some time, and it's I won't be raising my voice and screaming. That's me though. But you may find me pacing up and down, I'm pacing, pacing and talking and pacing and talking. Do you understand? And I'm pacing, and then when I feel the spirit of God says it's time, it's done. I move on. I'm very much on the side of don't give him too much attention. Don't give him too much attention. Do you understand that? Yeah, so it's by the leading of the spirit, so you have to be very sensitive. Alright?
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_07Thank you. You mentioned earlier that uh we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. What about the Holy Spirit? How do we address him? Do we pray to him? Or where does he fit in in that mix?
SPEAKER_00Thank you for the question. The Holy Spirit is the one who manifests. So if you look at Proverbs 8, okay, I think let me go there. I think it's Proverbs 8. Let's go there. Um, thank you, Holy Spirit. So Proverbs, so the Holy Spirit is the spirit of wisdom, yeah. Now, if you look at this, he explains to you his role, yeah, um, in the beginning of time. So I just want to read it for you. It says, uh, we'll start from 12 because you can read the whole thing in your own time, but we'll start with 12. Um, it says, I, wisdom, reside with prudence, yeah, and I find knowledge and discretion. Let me go to the KJV version. Let's go to the KJV and go straight to 12. Yeah. I, wisdom, dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride and arrogancy and the evil way, and the forward mouth do I hate. Counsel is mine, sound wisdom and sound wisdom. I am understanding, I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me, princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me, and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honor are with me, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the path of judgment, that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, and I'll fill their treasures. Listen to this. This is key. The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. This is this is the Holy Spirit. He's saying God possessed him as if he's something to hold. Yeah, I was set up from everlasting from the beginning, or ever the earth was, when there was no depth, I was brought forth. When there were no fountain fountains abounding with water, before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth. While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world, when he prepared the heavens, I was there. Are you listening to that? When he set a compass upon the face of the depth, when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep, when he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment. When he appointed the foundations of the earth, then I was by him, as one brought up with him, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him, rejoicing in the habitable part of the earth, and my delights were with the sons of men. Now, you know why I read all of that to you? It's to show you the role of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit doesn't fight to be in God's position, he's not interested in that, he knows his role and his responsibility. He's the facilitator. He's the facilitator. So when you are praying, you don't need to tell the Holy Spirit anything because He's He's the one allowing your voice to reach God. Do you understand? He's his He's there's this song that says, closer than the air I breathe. He's he's so inside of you, he's closer to you than your own lungs. I don't know how to explain it to you. So you and the Holy Spirit are so one. So when you pray, it's him. When you ask for forgiveness, it's him. He's making it all happen. He was there in the beginning when before the world was made, he was there. He tells you I was dancing when God was creating the world. So the Holy Spirit was there, he was vibes in. Yeah, such a precious spirit, and the Bible calls him here the spirit of wisdom. And he tells us that God needed me when he was making everything. It was me. Amen. So Jesus is us, the Holy Spirit is the facilitator, and God is the one we pray to. Does that make sense? God bless you. Come here, please. All of the nations. Thank you so much for the same thing.
SPEAKER_05So my question is around um sensit like sensitivity. Um, and this is due to like the way my brain works um with the different revelations I've had over the years. So the tug of war is kind of like having like when when do I when do I hand the problem to God? Let's say for example, it's a problem with uh university, and um I say one prayer, I in prayer I'm like, Lord, I hand this over to you, finished. Then then it's like I feel the inclination, like, shouldn't I not just use my own authority to speak the situation and deal with it myself with the authorities given me? And then it's like okay, I can also speak in tongues and wait for the Rama. So it's just it's a lot of question.
SPEAKER_00So Ijinu is asking, um, when do I hand over the situation to God? Number one, if I can deal with it myself through confessions, right? And speaking the word, and number two, maybe I should pray in tongues and wait for God to give me the instruction on what to do. Amen. Now, very good. Sit down. So, that how you know to hand over a situation to God is remember, you cannot deal with a situation that bothers you. That that power has been stripped from you. The moment something bothers you, yeah, you can't handle it. Your emotions are too entwined in that situation. Once there's emotion, you can't handle that situation. You must understand that. So the point I'm making here is that you cannot go and actively attack a situation if you're emotional about it. Leave it to God. Don't try and speak about it. Leave it to God, you're wasting your time. Amen. Any more questions? Okay, Anna's.
SPEAKER_02When you're in the praise of prayer and you start seeing signs and tokens and hearing the final signal, what is a good way to discern whether it is from God or whether it might be from your own personal thoughts?
SPEAKER_00Can you speak a little bit louder? Okay, did anyone hear that? Did you hear that? Okay, speak louder, please.
SPEAKER_02Thank you, sir. When you're in the praise of prayer and you start seeing signs and tokens and things from the Lord, how can you accurately discern whether it's from the Lord or your own personal thoughts?
SPEAKER_00Okay. This one comes with time. That's why you have me. Do you understand? When you learn to grow to to know the voice of the Lord, um, it's like it's like uh if your mom is outside and she's screaming, you will know that that's my mom. I know how do you know that that's your mom?
SPEAKER_02Time spending.
SPEAKER_00How will you know that that's your mom out there? From her voice. From her voice, how do you know her voice?
SPEAKER_02Because of the time that was spent with her.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. But if I ask maybe this gentleman to tell me if that's your mom, will you know that that's his mom? You won't know because he's not spent time with your mom. So understanding the voice of God comes with time. It took time, but I was consistent. I kept on coming back, I kept on coming back, kept on coming back. Now I know his voice. I've grown to a place of maturity, and I'm trying to do the same thing for you guys. As well, I want to build you to a place where you know the voice of God yourself. You understand? Yeah, we still have uh you know some things you hear, then you know that this is this is not God. You know, someone says, I I uh every time I I smoke weed, I hear God clearer. Now to what to a to a to a non-believer that sounds to someone who's a baby, it sounds, you know, that sounds like God. Like God is talking to me. Every time I smoke weed, I hear him clearer. But those of you who know the scripture, like I've I've taught you the word, you will hear that and think, there's not nothing you can tell me that would tell me that that's God. Yeah, that's not God, but that's because you know the word. Did I answer your question? Yeah, comes with time. So, whatever you hear in this session that we're about to do, let me know. You can text me, you can write it down, you can come and show me after service, I will attend to it, and I'll tell you whether God is the one talking to you or not. Praise the living God. Yeah, come.
SPEAKER_08Thank you, sir.
SPEAKER_00Please, I really want the the newbies to ask questions because I'm teaching this for you. The ones who have been with me for some time, they know how to pray. So I'm actually teaching this for you. I want you to learn how to pray. So ask questions. Yeah, go ahead.
SPEAKER_08Thank you, sir. How do you discern a situation that is supposed to train you with a situation that you're supposed to hand over to God?
SPEAKER_00Okay, so this the situation that you're meant to hand over to God is supposed to train you anyway. That's the thing. So you're learning to let go of what you need to let go of. Not every situation you have to engage in warfare. Sometimes wisdom is not fighting. You have to pick your battles wisely. Do you understand? So if a situation comes my way, the fact that I have to train myself to let it go is is training. I'm letting it go. That's my way of fighting. Do you understand? Yeah. I'll give it another minute. If there's no more questions, we'll go into the place of prayer. Yep, there's one at the end over there. Thank you.
SPEAKER_09Um Hiya. Um I had a question about um in the Bible it says about like wasting in prayer. Um, and I've found sometimes I've I can speak in vanity, but I just say too many words to God, and like my spirit's like just stop talking. Um so I just wanted any tips with that.
SPEAKER_00Um tips with talking too much or tips with talking without purpose?
SPEAKER_09Um I don't know the difference really.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I think I'm gonna speak to you uh from a perspective of a woman, so you may understand if I'm positioning that correctly. Because I know that women love to vent. Okay, so you have to know am I going into this prayer session to hear God or for him to hear me? Do you understand? With us men, we don't vent much. Do you understand? So we don't go into prayer saying, God, I need to give you my tell you my what's on my heart and all of that stuff. Do you understand? Yeah, but women, because it's your nature, you will go there and cry and speak to God and say all the words, then you'll come out feeling better. But you heard nothing. So you wanted to go in just to vent. And for you, that's a successful prayer session, which is not biblical. Do you understand? What I mean by not biblical, I mean that that's not a successful prayer session, biblically speaking. It's a prayer session, and definitely God heard you, but it's not a successful one. A successful prayer session is I go in and I heard from him. He told me a bunch of things. And I apply these things and it changes me. So make up your mind before you go in. Am I going in to vent or am I going in to hear him? If you want to vent, that's fine. Vent and then schedule another session where you will hear him. Because I understand that sometimes as women you just want to release. Is that correct? You just want to speak. Sometimes you don't have someone to speak to, you want to talk to God. That's fine. Do it, but then schedule another one where you're now, God, I'm ready to hear you. Tell me what you want me to hear. Praise God. I hope I've answered your question. Yeah, you did. Thank you so much. God bless you. One more. One more question, then we'll pray.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Thank you, man of God. Um, so I wanted to ask you, piggybacking off of that. If you don't hear anything, like you go into prayer to hear from the Lord, and let's say that you pray, you may not pray properly, or whatever the case may be, um, and you don't hear anything, would you advise then to stay into the place of prayer until you do hear something? Or um just leave it and then hope that the answer does come during the day or during the week.
SPEAKER_00Okay, um, never go into prayer and come out and say, I didn't hear anything. Do you understand? Come out and say, God spoke to me. Now, someone may say to you, What did he say? Say, I don't know, but he spoke to me. Let me explain. This is gonna be very complicated. How do I explain this to you? Okay, now God is in eternity, you are in time. So when he speaks, remember his words are breaking from the place where time doesn't exist to a place where time does exist. So when he speaks, it doesn't travel, it only travels when it enters this realm. You you cannot travel, yeah. If you understand physics or quantum physics, you cannot travel in a place where there's no time. You can move though, it's called movement. Do you understand? So, where he is, there's no there's no such thing as time. So let's say I'm God and uh you guys are in uh on earth, I say it is done. Praise God. As I've said it is done, that message is supposed to immediately land in your spirit. That's the purpose of the Holy Spirit. So the moment God says it is done, that message has downloaded in your spirit, it is done. But because you have not picked that signal that it is done, you now on your side have to wait for it to come to fruition. You missed the word, so now you have to see the results. Does that make sense? So, your issue now is not I heard him, your issue is I need to see. Did this thing work or not? That's why you're asking that question. That's why I said when you go into prayer, don't come out and say I didn't hear God. Say I heard him and wait for what he said to come to pass. Because you're still in the beginning. Someone like me, I don't need to see. When he says it, it lands in my spirit. But you guys are building your muscles to that place where God says it, and then it will it may happen in four days because you're in the realm of time. Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_01Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's why the Bible says that Jesus was created before the foundations of the earth. How? But when you look at his journey, he came as a baby and grew into a man because he broke into the realm of time, so he had to grow. But if you take him out of time, he's a man, he's a grown man. Amen. Yeah, he's a grown man. Read the Bible, it says Jesus was created before, he was thought of and created before the foundations of the earth, and then we see him in Genesis chapter 2 walking in the garden. But I don't want to go into all of that, amen. Thank you. Let's pray.
