In this episode, we explore what it means to live with covenant behaviour and why genuine commitment to God is revealed through obedience, humility, and a teachable heart. Listen now and learn how to walk faithfully in your covenant with God, embrace His instruction, and develop a life that truly pleases Him.
So we're still in our Christ-like series. In our Christ-like series and and I wanna entitle um forward I wanna entitled uh today uh covenant behavior. Amen. Covenant behavior. We will touch on covenant behavior for maybe two to three weeks because it's a very important part of how you relate to the Lord Jesus. Um as believers, there's a way you have to live out your daily your daily walk with God. There's a way you must live out your Christianity, there's a sure way on how you need to live out your Christianity. And if you're not doing it the way that's been prescribed in the Bible, you will bump into a lot of uncalled for issues and troubles. Praise God. So before I go into that, I want to ask a rhetorical question, then I'll go into explaining it to you. What exactly is a covenant? What is a covenant? Because I entitled today covenant behavior, so it means that your behavior is counseled and directed by whatever a covenant is. So before I go into what a covenant is, let me give you examples of what of covenants, amen. So first, an example of a covenant is marriage. Marriage is an example of a covenant, and you may find that people don't get married and continue behaving anyhow. Is that correct? If you get married and you continue to behave anyhow, it means you're still in the process of understanding what you did. Do you understand that? So marriage is an example of a covenant, and once you enter that covenant, whether you like it or not, your behavior has to change. Are we in agreement or not on that? You you're gonna have to change the way you behave. So, what does that mean? That means that if you are used to giving compliments to everybody, as you get married, what do you do? Some people are saying you continue, Pastor. Continue. No, as you get married, you reserve your compliments to the person in the covenant. You're too quiet there, but Pastor, I'm I'm doing it for business, it's to get clients. My sister, my brother, for business or not. When you get into that covenant, find another way to make money. Praise God forevermore. When you get into that covenant, your behavior changes. Can I tell you something else that has to change? You stop receiving compliments as well. Ah, but Pastor, if someone gives me a compliment, surely I should take it. No. No, you're married.
unknownNo, sir.
SPEAKER_02Amen. You know what I'm telling you, these are inner findings. Because as men, when we get married, it's different to when a lady gets married. The cognitive pattern in our brain is different to when a lady gets married. Men arrive much later. He may have said, I do, but his brain has not changed. So he has to sit with the Lord, and the Lord has to advise him and counsel him into being married. So you may marry a man now, and then he starts acting married two years later. Are you listening? And and and you can't say, Hi God, don't send me such a man. 99.9% of men are like that. They are, unless they've been in marriage before. They've been married before, they have history. But if they haven't, some things will take a while to change. Praise God forevermore. So I said, as a married person, you got to learn to not take compliments. So then the question is, Pastor, how do I not take compliments? There's nice ways of doing that. Somebody says to you, You look so handsome today as a man. You know, of course, you're a man, right? So you say, the person says, You look so handsome. You turn around and say, I'll tell my wife. Thank you. I will let my wife know you've said that. I told you, you're not gonna like me today. I told you that. Some men you tell them to hands them and say, Ah, thank you. Really? What why'd you say that? And you're gonna notice that when he says that he got closer to you, he said, Why'd you say that? You know, it's a tell me more situation, enlighten me. Praise God. No, tell your neighbor, no, say you're in a covenant now, you entered into a covenant with another person, so certain parts of you and your mind and your words are preserved now for that person. You're not allowed to tell someone else they are handsome. I'm talking to the women, you're not allowed, you're in a covenant. And for the men, you don't leave you out. You can't you understand that even if you see another person, alright, that's right up your street. No, no, relax, relax, relax, relax. The reason I'm saying that, relax, relax. The reason I'm saying that is because men are extremely visual. So just because he married you doesn't mean he's gone blind or he's myopic. Praise God. So he will continue to see, but the counsel is just because you see someone up your street, because you're bound to coven, you brush it. You see a nice street, I'll keep it that way, right? You know, we keep it holy, amen. You see a nice road, I'm already on another road. You understand that? Yeah, I'm walking down another road already. That road has nothing that concerns me. Someone says, Ah, did you know there's a KFC down that road? Please, please. Amen. That's what the marriage covenant comes with. When you stand there and you say, I do, or you say to someone for better, for worse, as you guys are standing there exchanging those vows, you're saying, I'm giving you a part of me that's exclusive, and no other person on earth, not even my mother or my father, can experience that. Amen. You say, Pastor, can I not compliment my wife's sister? No, no, Pastor, can I not compliment my colleague? No. No. Listen, if you're bursting that much to give out compliments, let me tell you two things. Unleash those compliments on your wife first. That's the first thing. Secondly, if you really want that person to get the compliment, go and tell your wife to tell them. Now, you see what I just said there, that should deter you immediately. Are you learning something? Okay, okay, so just as you are bound in marriage covenant, did you know you're in a covenant with God? Are you aware of that? So that means that there are things you just cannot do. Because you're in covenant with God. So I'll go on to explain what a covenant is. A covenant is an exchange between two beings or persons. Alright? An exchange of what? A commitment. So it's an exchange of commitment between two beings or persons through words, through words, sealed with a sacrifice, and that's what makes it powerful. It's the sacrifice at the end. That's what seals it. So so if you enter, this is a grave thing. Okay, this is a grave. I'm using the word grave. It's a grave thing to interrupt someone else's covenant. No, you are way too quiet. It is a grave, grave. That means you are signing your death warrant. This is a grave thing to interrupt another person's covenant. That is their covenant with God or their covenant with their wives or their husbands. Stay away from that. Pastor, I'm just in love with this guy, but he's married. You better on love, effective immediately, because you're interrupting a covenant. Why is that dangerous? Because of the sacrifice at the end. Now, let me tell you God's design. Praise God. Let me tell you God's design. When the Lord Jesus died for us, that was the sacrifice at the end of our covenant that sealed us to Him. You understand that? Likewise, when a man and a woman get married and they come together. The coming together in the Bible, it assumes that the woman is a virgin, and the man equally also is a virgin. So when they come together, that is the sacrifice. That sacrifice is happening at the tail end of words being exchanged. So you've said, I do, I'll be there with you for better, for worse. She has also said the same thing. Amen. Now, if you notice, Jesus on the cross, blood was flowing. Is that correct? And the Bible says he was pierced on the side, so water came out too. Amen. That's what happens when two people come together who have never met before. That blood flow is a covenant. But that doesn't mean every time blood flows, there's a covenant. So you can't cut yourself and say, ah, covenant. Praise God. No. Do you understand? It doesn't work like that. So I have to highlight these things so you don't trip up, okay? So you understand your way around the spirit realm. Yeah. Praise God forevermore. So, so as raise your hand here if you're a lady. You're a lady? Nice. So when you get married, do you automatically have expectations of your husband? Do you? As you should. As you should. As you should. Raise your hand if you're a man. Strong man. Nice. We have some boys who are doing this. Raise your hand up high if you're a man. That's good. Now, as a man, when you get married, are you expecting things from your wife? As you should. Amen. Now, do you think when you give your life to the Lord, He expects things from you? You said, raise your hand if you consider yourself a Christian. You're a believer. And yet you're acting as if you're not in a covenant. You're living your life your way. Listen, just as a disagreement between a husband and a wife is not an excuse for one of them to go and commit adultery. Likewise, just because you may feel like God hasn't answered your prayer is not an excuse for you to go and live anyhow.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_02There are things you know you should not be doing. And you stand by that no matter whether God you feel like God has blessed you or not, you stand by those things. Praise God. See, I'm a Christian, I'm a believer, I'm filled with the Holy Spirit. So there's a way I behave, there's a way I behave, there's a way I carry myself. I carry myself a certain way. I'm filled with the Holy Spirit. Praise God. Sit down, sit down. So the Bible talks about just a quick example, and then I'm gonna go deeper. Alright, because I said, you know, we're talking about covenant behavior. You understand that? So the Bible says, for example, a Christian must be gentle and calm. Alright? And someone does something that winds you up. Praise God. The Bible says a Christian should be gentle. Why is he saying you should be gentle and calm? Because that's what Christ asks of you. Raise your hand here if you did the salvation prayer. You know what salvation prayer is? It's when you pray and say, I receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Raise your hand if you did that. Then you owe him your life. You owe him your life. Likewise, he also, all right, has things that he committed to when you said, I do. When you said, I receive you as my Lord and Savior. He, as God, said, There are things that I'm gonna start doing for you now.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02But it's difficult for you to experience that because you're not living for Him. You got to live for Him, you got to live for Him. Covenant behavior requires for you to have self-control. Many believers are living as if they have no self-control at all. If you don't touch a woman, it's as if you're dying. You scheduled it, you scheduled it in your schedule every two and a half days. Once that has passed, it's as if you're losing your mind. And by the way, a lot of people don't like these type of messages because it teaches commitment, and this is what makes you a genuine believer. Commitment. Say, I will not do this because I'm a believer. I said, I'm a Christian, brother. I'm a Christian. You can't bring that to me. You're not allowed to bring that to me. You can't bring that to me. I'm a believer. Even if I'm broke, I will not do this thing. You know why? Because I'm committed. I'm a committed believer. So my circumstance doesn't shape how I live for Christ. Praise God. It doesn't shape it, it just doesn't. Can I show you something in the Bible? Alright, let's go to Matthew chapter 26. Because the word of God is what we have to um read. Let's start from verse 20.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, sir. Matthew chapter 26, from verse 20, says, When evening had come, he sat down with the twelve. Verse 21. Now as they were eating, he said, Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray me. Verse 22. And they were exceedingly sorrowful. And each of them began to say to him, Lord, is it I? Verse 23. He answered and said, He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me. Verse 24. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him. But woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would have been good for that man if he had not been born. Verse 25. Then Judas God.
SPEAKER_02Amen. We're gonna unpack this. There's a lot to unpack there. So make sure you're writing down, you're understanding what's happening. Verse 21 says, And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, now one of you shall betray me. And the Bible says, and they were exceedingly sorrowful. And one of and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? You know, I I love that, I love that what I've just read there. It says that Jesus said, as a prophet, he knew, he knew their thoughts, he knew what would happen. He said, One of you is gonna betray me. The Bible says uh they were extremely sorrowful. Look at the look at the behavior, they felt there was something in their spirits that was uncomfortable. How can we betray this man? But I know of believers that do wrong things and they're happy, they are joyful and they're looking forward to doing it again. How is it that you've you've you've done a terrible thing that has hurt someone's feelings and you are you have no care in the world at all? You know what that tells me? It tells me about the state of your spirit, the state of a man's spirit, the state of your spirit. I've met those kinds of people, I don't care. They do anything and they say, I don't care, I don't care. It's the state of the spirit, you can't produce anything good like that. Because everything and anything you need in this life comes from your spirit. So if your spirit is polluted in such a way where you hurt people's feelings, you you you betray people, and you cannot, you can't produce anything good like that, you cannot serve the Lord like that.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02It says they were extremely sorrowful. Is that in your Bible? No, it didn't say they were extremely sorrowful. Have you ever come to a place where you did something and you knew the Lord and it upset you? Have you been there before? Thank you, thank you very much.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02It's important that you become that sensitive. You need to become that sensitive if you want to walk with God in your daily life, you need to become that sensitive. Amen. Believers want the suit that supernatural life. Oh, I was going somewhere and I heard something and told me to stop, and I avoided a car crash. Or you want a miracle all the time, but you don't want to learn how to walk with him. I told you last week you prayed, you prayed, oh, give me wisdom, and then the Spirit of God whispers to you, This week you spoke too much, your mouth was opening too much, like this, and then the following week you talk more. Amen. But what I'm teaching you now is how to activate that power to be going with you throughout the week, daily power. Amen. And that power is beautiful, it will be coming out in different ways, different ways. Praise God. Let me tell you one of the ways that that power will come out. You see, there are so many things in this life that can cause you to spiral into depression. You agree on that? So many things that can happen in your life that will cause you to spiral. When you walk with God, you realize that those things maybe don't stop happening, but your reaction to them changes. You understand that? So as these things are taking place, instead of you going into depression, there's a peace. And that peace is keeping you. That's the beginning of the power, that's the beginning. See, I have the peace of the spirit in me. It's inside my spirit. The peace of the spirit is inside my spirit. Because I'm learning to walk with God, I'm learning to walk with the spirit step by step.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_02So there's a few things I want to show you there. So it says in verse 21. Verse 22, sorry, and it says, They were exceedingly sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? So they were asking. You know, the Lord said, You will betray me, and they began to ask, Is it I? And he answered, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. The Son of Man goeth as it is written of him. But woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It had been uh it had been good or better for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? And Jesus said, Thou hast said. So it means you have said it. And they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it and broke it and gave it to the disciples, and he said, Take it and eat it, this is my body. This is so powerful. There's a lot, there's a lot you're not seeing there. I'm gonna give you the story in this timeline. They're sitting down, Jesus said to the disciples, so we're assuming it's just 12 of them, and the owner of the house, and the owner of the house is standing somewhere and can hear everything. Amen. Because if you look at the previous verse, they asked Jesus, where are we gonna have the Passover? He said, Go to this specific guy and tell him the master wants to use your house. So there was a 13th member. You gotta read the Bible, Amen. So, lo and behold, as they're sitting down, Jesus says, One of you will betray me. Follow me carefully. So they all become very sorrowful, or they are saddened. They start asking. This one says, Would it will it be me? That one says, Is it gonna be me? This one says, Will it be me? Amen. Jesus then says, The one who will dip, yeah, I will dip my bread, the one who will dip after me.
SPEAKER_03Did you hear that?
SPEAKER_02The one who will dip after me is the one that will betray me. Right after that, they all stopped asking. Because it happened, the person dipped. Then the Bible says, after some minutes, Judas asks, Is it me? But he was in the room. So what happened? Are you listening? Judas is among them. There's 12 of us. How big does the room have to be? You understand that? And Jesus says to 12, so that's 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12. This row to there. There's 12 of us. How big is that room? How big does the room have to be? And even if I'm sitting there and I'm saying, the one who dips after me. And Judas dips after him. So the rest of them are like, Phew, it's not me. Kai. They say, I'm free. John says, I'm free. Matthew says, I'm free. You know. And Matthew was probably thinking it was him because Matthew was a tax collector. He said, It's definitely me. I'm the dirtiest here. So when he's when Jesus said that, and he didn't dip, he said, Ah, I didn't dip. Everyone said, No, we didn't dip. There's one guy that was dipping. Oh, this guy loves food. The Bible says he dipped. As he dipped, the question ceased. And then after this individual asked. Now, just to clarify what I'm saying, we have to read it. Yeah, because I'm a scripture person. Can we confirm what I'm saying is correct? Alright, let's confirm it. So, blessing, can you read from 22? And if you ain't got a Bible, ask for one, alright? Or go on your phone and actually read it with us.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, sir. Matthew chapter 26, from verse 22, says, And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to him, Lord, is it high? Verse 23. He answered and said, He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me. Verse 24. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would have been good for that man if he had not been born. Verse 25. Then Judas, who was betraying him, answered and said, Rabbi, is it I? He said to him, You have said it. Verse 26. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is my body. Verse 27. Then he took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them, saying, Drink from it, all of you. Verse 28. For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
SPEAKER_02Praise God. Now, this is such an interesting phenomenon. And as I was studying this, the Lord, the Lord ministered to me and said that, you know, there are many, many people in the same state as Judas in the house of God. So watch this. This is happening. Jesus says, One of you will betray me. They all start asking. After they ask, um, Jesus said, The one who dips after me. After he dips, Judas dips. And Jesus proceeds to say, Um, it's it was better for that man not to be born, yeah, because of the consequences of what he's about to do. Right after that, Judas says, Lord, is it I he was in the room, but his spirit wasn't. They were talking as a group, it was 13 or maybe 14 of them at max. Jesus is saying, You will betray me. And remember, he's the last to ask. He's the last one. Now, before I tell you exactly what has happened there, yeah, I want you to jump for me and look at this because this is a very relevant scripture. It's still in the same same place, but I want you to look at this, yeah. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Okay, read from 31. Yeah, let's read from 31.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, sir. Matthew chapter 26, from verse 31, says, Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of me this night. For it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. Verse 32, but after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee. Verse 33. Peter answered and said to him, Even if all are made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble. Verse 34. Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times. Verse 35. Peter said to him, Even if I have to die with you, I will not deny you. And so said all the disciples.
SPEAKER_02Amen. Now the question I have for you is what was the difference between Judas, what Judas was about to do, and what Peter was about to do? He said, With Judas, it is better for you to have not been born. But with Peter, he said, You would deny me as well, but there's no consequence. So, what was the difference? Just write everything I'm saying down. Alright, I'm gonna revisit that point in a second. Now, remember I said Judas was there, but his spirit was not present. How many churchgoers find themselves in that situation? That means being present at church is not enough. It's not enough to say, I came to church. Judas was there, the message was being given, and he couldn't pick up on the message. He couldn't pick up on the message, he was too distracted with food. Whilst others are concerned and sorrowful about their behaviors, Judas is eating bread. As some believers, they come to church and their minds are vacant. I always say, correction is not for those who are wrong. Correction is for those who want to prosper. Correction is for those who want to do well. Sorry, they're in the same place. Jesus says, Peter, you will betray me. Now I noticed something in those verses. Number one, when Jesus said to Judas, when he asked, and Jesus said, You have said it, he didn't respond. But when Jesus looked at Peter and said, You will betray me, Peter responded. He said, Never will I do this, I will not betray you. Do you know why those two reactions happened? Because one was premeditated and the other was not. This is what separates believers from non-believers. God is not so concerned about the mistake you made, he's concerned about the preparation towards it. Did you sit there and plan this thing or was it impromptu? Praise God. The difference between planning a robbery and stealing.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02So God's major concern, alright, because if you look at I think it's uh in the book of John, because John references this. John says that Judas was concerned about the alabaster box that was spilled. He was only concerned because he was stealing. And the Lord said, Talk to them, talk to my children about being in the house of God and not taking in the word. Not taking in the word. How can you be around Christ for that long and you're still stealing? He was stealing from Christ, and these are planned. He this this guy calculated this thing. He said, I'm gonna take this portion so no one notices every single time. Now, as a proper Christian, when you do something, you feel sorrowful, it's in your heart. You're like, I I stole, I shouldn't have stole, I shouldn't have stolen, I shouldn't have done that. You start repenting to God first. It's not it's not about people. You go to God and say, Lord, I am sorry. The Bible says that they were sorrowful. Say, Lord, I am sorry. I repent, I'm sorry. Ask yourself why you don't feel like that. The Bible says they are happy and proud for what they should be ashamed of. Since when did it become cool to have multiple girlfriends? Since when did it become cool to break young ladies' hearts? And you're naming the places they say in their songs, these rappers, you know. I got one from Brixton, I got one from there, they start naming them. Praise God. They have bride prices that should have been paid for. And you're singing about them in your songs. What about if Keisha was your daughter? Praise God forevermore. These are things that God is very concerned about. He's very concerned. Now let's look at the consequence for Judas. He said, It is better for you to have not been born at all. Because you betrayed me. So let me define betrayal for you. And now you can check if you're constantly betraying Christ in your journey. Amen. A betrayal, alright, is you having the information in question that could lead you to making the right decision, but you consciously choose to make the wrong decision because it benefits you. You get that? Alright. So you actively made the decision in your spirit that I'm gonna do this wrong thing. You know this is the wrong thing to do. You said I'm gonna do it because it benefits me. Praise God. So, what that tells me also is that when I study Judas, if Jesus says you will betray me, it means that Judas knew what he was doing, number one, number two, he knew it was wrong, but he built what I call a resistance to the word of life. Okay, we have a lot of those parties in church too, that they've built up a resistance to the word of life. So when the word of God is being ministered, they have opinions. They have opinions, they've come to the throne room of God to advise him. Did you hear what I just said? You came to the you came to God's throne to advise him. Yeah, a lot of people will come into the house of God, into the house of God, into the institution of God that's been around for years, thousands of years, to advise how things should be changed. The word of God is being ministered in their spirits. All they're saying is, I don't agree, I don't agree, I don't agree. Yeah opinions opinions and opinions I don't agree with that message I don't agree maybe maybe you didn't know this but let me tell you just because we're in the West doesn't mean the word is Western you understand that so this is uh a democracy so-called democracy but the scriptures are not for democratic use your opinion was not asked when the word was being formed you you get that and it's nothing for you to be offended about you have to understand your role you came to the scripture for it to help you not for you to help it praise God so you do not do what Judas did you don't come to the house of God to give opinions you come to the house of the Lord to leave your opinions on the altar to be changed. You're obviously here because you know you need help, amen. By the way, I'm not talking about those who have come to church for stranger genders, the Lord will root them out himself. Alright, I won't even address them. I'm talking about those who have genuinely you came here because you know I I'm not doing okay, I need help. So how can someone that is in need of help be given opinions? It's just beyond Judas came to Christ because he needed help, and he's now counseling Jesus on how to use money, yeah. Praise God, and and it was his professional career that gave him the courage to do that. Yeah, he was a finance guy, praise God, he's a finance guy, he was very good with finance, so he thought, I'm gonna use my expertise here, but he forgot that we're talking about the master. Jesus' economics is different. You see, sometimes I personalize the situation. I say, if if I was in his shoes, how would I behave? This is a man who couldn't pay his taxes and sent one of the disciples to go and talk to a fish. Ha no, no, some of you, it's because you don't believe it. He said that you have a I've booked an appointment with you with a tilapia. You understand that? Yeah, yeah, go and meet the tilapia, the tilapia will pay our taxes. Kai, you want to advise someone who's having meetings with tilapia? Go and read your Bible. Jesus said the tilapia will meet you. Once you arrive, it will be there. And Jesus said, Open his mouth, take out the money from there, put it back where it belongs, and go and pay the tax. That's the man you want to counsel. Human beings are sometimes they fascinate me how they think. Fascinate, fascinate me. Praise God, fascinate me, and it's not like it's back in those days, it's happening here now. Some of you have been recipients of the power of God like never before, and you're still able to have courage to give counsel on how things should change instead of just following what the word says and trust that he's guiding his servant as he should. Let me open a bracket. You may come to church here and see what you call an error in the service. You see, somebody said that wasn't done properly, but God looks at that and says, It's a necessary error for betterment. So that error is in his plan.
unknownCome on.
SPEAKER_02You've come in to try and change things. He says, No, no, no, no. I like this, this is this should be happening because we're going through. This is not where my children will stay, they are traveling. The house of God is not a democracy, it isn't. He says to me, When you enter a room, discover the type of music they're playing and dance to the rhythm. He said, Don't go in there. People are dancing Sousa and you're winding your waist. What are you doing? And what are you doing? This is a footwork business. Sousa's footwork. He said, when people are doing footwork, you enter and do the footwork. He said, when you learn the dance and you become influential enough. Are you following what I'm saying to you right now? So when you become influential enough, then you can start changing things. They'll look at you. What are you? What are you doing? Praise God. No, they'll they'll be shocked. Where's this guy coming from? They'll be asking security, escort this gentleman out of here, please. Amen. No, you find out what dance, what tune, what it is, you dance with them, understand them, grow influential, and then change things. Praise God forevermore. You got a responsibility. You got a responsibility here. Judas, I found him to be a very strange, very strange character, but I understood him. He didn't, he didn't want to commit, he didn't want to change.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02He didn't want to change. This word is for those of you who have God has done works in your life and you have not changed. You see this message? It's uh what I will call a subtle call. Auto call. A subtle autocall. He's calling you to change. Lay your opinions to the side. Change for him. Amen. Change for him. I noticed that Peter, um, if you look at his story, he was most of the time actually ready to fight for the gospel. Judas was rarely spoken about until it's something bad. You understand that? Rarely was he spoken about until it's a negative thing, but then he was spoken of. Can we read one more portion and then and then we'll adjourn? Thank you, Holy Spirit. Where did we stop off from? Where did we stop? I think we stopped at all right. Let's go from 29, yeah? Let's go from 29.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, sir. Matthew chapter 26, from verse 29, says, But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom. Verse 30. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. Verse 31. Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of me this night, for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. Verse 32. But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.
SPEAKER_02Alright, this is something Peter could not believe that he would find himself in such a situation. And he was saying, Even after the Lord said to him, You would do this? Peter responded and said, I will not do it, even if I have to die. I love his confessions. Now, the book of James says that a man is characterized by how he speaks. If you want to know a perfect man, look at the way he talks. Is that correct? What did Judas say? He said nothing. All he had been doing in the scriptures complaining. Amen. All he had been doing is complaining. He complained about the Abbaster box. He complained that there was not enough money. Complained. And then when we hear of him again, he's eating bread and asking a question that's outdated. This is a conversation we had 15 minutes ago. You are coming with bread to ask us, will you be the traitor? Of course, you are the traitor.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02With your agege bread, you deserved, you deserve this fate. Praise God forevermore. Listen, can I tell you something? Then we'll pray. Yeah? Yeah. Make it your responsibility from this day onwards, your spiritual responsibility to learn the ways of God. Learn the ways of God so that you may please him. Make it your spiritual responsibility to learn how God wants you to walk with him so that you may please him. I'm telling you, there are gifts to pleasing him. It's beautiful. I told you guys one time I didn't, I didn't even pray. And it happens multiple times. I don't even have to um, I don't even testify about it anymore. I told you, I I I was driving out of my house. I noticed, oh, I haven't got petrol. And I said, I said, I looked and I said, I need petrol. And I thought, okay, I need to find a petrol station. On my journey there, the the the hand of my car was moving. The petrol was being filled as I'm driving. I God in heaven is my witness. I didn't even pray. I didn't pray. I'm on the altar. Do you understand? I'm just driving and it's being filled. By the time I I got, I was coming here. By the time I arrived to church, it was almost full. These are the fruits. Do you understand? The fruits of having God in your heart. I wouldn't stand here and lie to you and say, Oh, I prayed a special prayer. I did not pray, I thought about it. But God cares about what I think about because I have a relationship with him. When I mess up, I'm aware that I mess up. And I first go to him and I say, God, you know, let's discuss this because you know I was wrong, but I felt right at that time. I was wrong, but I won't do it again because I know you're not happy with this. So I will change. Amen.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02I've made sure that I become fluid with the change of the Holy Spirit. Fluid. Don't be resistant to the scripture. Amen. Don't be resistant to the scripture. Oh, uh, they'll bring certain things to you, like uh the scripture is outdated. That's a lie. It's one of the biggest lies from the pit of hell. The scripture is not outdated. There's there's no problem you can experience in this generation that the Bible doesn't talk about. None. Amen. And as you know, there's no new problem under the sun. If you spent some time with elders, they would have told you that there's nothing new under the sun, nothing, and the Bible accounts for all of it. Someone said, But Pastor, I don't see sleep paralysis in the Bible. Read it. Many kings had sleep paralysis, it's in there. I can show you. Yeah. What do you think Saul had? Go and read about Soul properly, you'll find out. He couldn't sleep, and when he would sleep, what would happen? Why was David playing the thing? Go and read the Bible. There are those who experience what you're experiencing long before you. Do you think you're the first to want to be famous and rich? You're too quiet there. Yeah. You think you're the first to seek attention from everybody? You're not the first. There are those that were like you in the Bible. If you're wise, you will look for them, study them, and avoid living like them. Have you ever met a man who would speak so much wisdom? Raise your hand. You met a man who just speaks wisdom. It could be a woman, just so wise. Can I tell you the other side of that? That they refuse to take correction from anybody. It doesn't mean that they're dumb, they're wise. But on the other hand, when people advise them, they're like, there was a guy like that in the Bible. By the name of Ahitophel. Yeah, you have those kind of people. There's not one person you would have met in this life that is not in the Bible. There are people also you meet in this life who are in denial.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02You tell them you're not doing well, and they're telling you they are doing well. Praise God. They're in the scripture. In the Bible, you find greedy men, you find lustful men, stubborn women, prideful women. Do you understand that? Seductive women. You find them in here. First. So if you discover this beautiful thing that God has given us here, and you discover this thing and study this thing, it will give you an advantage in life. Amen. Can we do some confessions? Raise your hand for a second. Just raise your hand. Thank you for listening to Pastor Max's teachings. Make sure to subscribe and for more information, find us at Faith and Victory Wallace.
