Hey there, I'm Tracy. This is real life, real faith, real God. You're in the right place to get real. Real about life, real about your faith, and real with God. This is your moment to pause, take a deep breath, and stop pretending everything's fine if it isn't. Because God can handle your truth. He's not looking for perfect, he's looking for present. So whether you're feeling strong in your faith or struggling to hold on, you're not alone. Let's meet with him, just as we are right here, right now. Hello and welcome back to Real Life, Real Faith, Real God. And this is your host, Tracy Glass. I am so glad that you are joining me today. And this is episode four of our series, Restored and Ready. And today's episode is addressing the topic that healing isn't pretending the brokenness never happened. So far, we have talked about the pain of heartbreak, the questions of are we ready to possibly love again? And we've talked about how to guard our heart the right way. But today I want us to talk about something that is so important. Something I needed to hear on my own healing journey. Healing after a broken relationship isn't about pretending the brokenness never happened. It's not about covering up the pain. And it's not about acting like the past didn't leave its mark on us. No, healing is far more honest and courageous than that. I realized this when I stopped trying to pretend my brokenness was invisible. Instead, I began to acknowledge it, to name it, and to give it space. Because if you push the brokenness down too far, it doesn't disappear. It just waits. And trust me, it will resurface. And when it does, it can catch you off guard, it can trigger old wounds and it can threaten your peace. But when you face the brokenness, when you bring it into the light, that's when true healing begins. And it's also when you start remembering who you really are in God. Because sometimes heartbreak makes you forget, it makes us question our worth, it makes us doubt our identity, and it makes us feel like maybe we're not whole. But God reminds us differently. He reminds us that we are still loved, still chosen, still one of his precious daughters, and we're still whole. On my journey, I had to learn to trust God, to trust him to reveal what I couldn't see on my own, to trust him to protect me from people or situations that did not have my best interests at heart. And this freed me from trying to be in control, to try to figure out everything alone. Instead, I could take one step at a time, knowing God was with me. I realized something too, is that healing is not a straight line. I think at times I wish it was, but actually it's a process. Some days it feels like you're making great progress, but other days you might feel that pain has pushed you back and it's resurfacing. But that's okay because healing is ongoing, it's about growing closer to God and giving him the broken pieces on those not so great days and trusting him to make us whole again. So if you're listening today and carrying pain from your past, let me remind you you don't have to pretend it's not there. You can bring it to God, you can be honest with him, and you can let him heal you. And in that healing, you can find your peace, your identity, your worth. And friend, healing doesn't erase the past, but it changes how the past shapes your future. And that is freedom. Let's pray. God, thank you that you see our brokenness. Thank you that you meet us right where we are. Thank you that healing isn't about pretending, but it's about truth, about honesty, about courage. Help us to bring our pain to you, God, not to hide it, not to run from it, but to receive your amazing healing love. Remind us who we are in you, how much you so love us, how you call us chosen, and how we are your precious daughters. Help us to trust you, to reveal what we cannot see, to protect us and to guide us one step at a time. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. So, friend, I want to remind you of something. Healing is messy. Let's just be honest. But healing is also something courageous and something that we can give to ourselves. When we take the healing journey to be whole again, God does something really amazing with our heart. And so I just want to invite you to allow God to minister you even today, after listening to this episode, and bring him everything, all the pain and all the questions that you might have. And I promise you, he'll meet you right where you are. Also, go to the description page of this episode where you can download my free gift to you, and that is the Restored and Ready Guide that will walk you through the process of getting ready to love again. God bless you and have a blessed day. Thanks for taking a few moments to meet with God today. I pray this moment reminded you that you're not alone, you're not forgotten, and you don't have to carry it on. Whatever real looks like for you right now, there is a real faith and a real God walking with you in it. Until next time, keep showing up, keep being honest, and keep trusting the one who never lets go.
