Siv:

Musi. Hi, my name is . I'm currently a master student at the Ha NEMI group. I'm from Norway's west coast, just a little bit outside of Stavanger. I cas I' In my project, I will be trying to correct gain of function mutation in a ST 1g of a patient by using the CRISPR-Cas9 technology. I think it's a very cool technique. Just thinking like not too many years ago we would not be able to do what we can do with this technique. Just the possibilities it actually gives us to well, so many things in the healthcare industry, just helping patients.

Siv:

Yeah Well, I can talk a little bit about why I'm doing a master's degree, because I've actually been working for five years just in the healthcare industry.

Siv:

I've been working at the blood bank, in the lab, doing immunohematology work. I've been working shifts for all these five years and now I want a more stable job with just working days and not working nights, weekends, holidays. But I also don't want to have a very reduced income After I'm done with my master's thesis. I'm just looking for a fun job with great coworkers where I get to follow a protocol but also have questions and maybe try to make a protocol better, just like have some challenges, not just following a protocol blindly. No, I would probably not consider doing a PhD because I've already been working for so many years and it's like a few years that you have to invest a lot of time. It seems like it and, don't get me wrong, I'm like an easily engaged person, but I also want to work and have maybe a little bit more free time than you get to have as a PhD student. I would say it's hanging with my friends, maybe having a glass of wine, eating some good food and just talk and have fun, just enjoying each other's company.
