This is the program that aims to bring good neighbor businesses to the community. And why? Because they're part of the community and they serve the community. But they're really one of us, they're in our community and, as you know, if you're a regular listener, we call it the Good Neighbor Podcast, delco. But Delco and beyond, and one of the pieces of feedback we've gotten recently is well, what does beyond mean? Certainly it means the world, because you can listen to this podcast from anywhere in the world connected by Internet. But in Delco, delaware County, pennsylvania, the southeast corner of Pennsylvania, just above the state of Delaware, just across from the state of New Jersey and right below the city of Philadelphia, that's Delaware County and we like to think that Delaware County and beyond means the five-county area and into New Jersey.

Introducing NDA Medical Spa Owners
Speaker 2Thanks, bob. Well, it's great to have you and we really were happy to have not just a guest from New Jersey talking to us, but really a professional guest to talk to us about what it really means to be a good neighbor a little bit in the area of beauty, health, energy, everything that makes up a medical spa, and it has really widened over the years. Dr Stewart, I have to believe that when you got your license to be a doctor, an MD, were you heading right into some kind of cosmetic surgery or were you originally planning to be a doctor of a different type?
Speaker 4Well, I'm from New York originally. I'm happy to say I've been in South Jersey and the Delaware Valley for close to 30 years, but I started my training in New York and I was originally a urologist, a geno-urinary surgeon. I did a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering and then I traveled to South Jersey. In the first eight years of my career I was an academics professor at both Cooper and Jefferson. I started a minimally invasive surgical program at Cooper using the DaVinci robot. So I've always been passionate about doing minimally invasive things for maximum result. I also had a passion and did some liposuction years ago.
From Urologist to Med Spa Owner
Speaker 4But Noel, who is an Olympic level ice dancer and a dietician, we both had been passionate about everything we do in life and so that drew us together, because now we are not only a husband and wife and mother and father to two daughters who keep us on our toes, but we really felt there was a void in the Delaware Valley for a passionate, family-focused aesthetic cosmetic medical spa and we spent over four years developing our idea.
Speaker 4We are a family-run business. We are not owned by any corporations. We put our own money into the business, so we're very passionate about what we do. We'd like to treat all patients as family members, actually better than most of our family because, you know, family can be touch and go, but we're very passionate about what we do. We treat everyone with utmost respect and passion and we want everyone to feel comfortable and safe in our environment. And it's really the brains and the beauty is all about Noelle and I'm going to let Noelle talk about our journey to how we got where we are in Moorestown, new Jersey to let Noelle talk about our journey to how we got where we are in Moorestown, new Jersey.
Speaker 2Well, please do. And, noelle, I have to say it's lovely that you two get to work with each other and have such a thriving practice, but when I looked over the website, it's not a small operation, is it, noelle? You have a lot of even some other doctors, but also a lot of staff that you have to manage. Help us understand a little bit how the practice got so big, from really some humble beginnings of what you had in mind, but I think it's probably because you build it as a family business for families and people in the community.
Building a Comprehensive Family Practice
Speaker 3Absolutely, and with any of these type of procedures it has to be comprehensive. So you have to treat the person from the inside. So that's where I really focus my energy, being a dietician, so I look at hormone levels, the vitamins we talk about the hot peptides, now we talk about NAD Making sure that the person is well-balanced and feeling their absolute best from the inside. And then we can go into the other areas, more aesthetic, that you might think of, which are the lasers and the injectables and biostimulators, facials, all that kind of thing. And my husband his main focus is intimate wellness, which makes perfect sense because he's a urologist, so he really runs the part that has to do with the hormone therapy and other sexual intimate wellness procedures. I kind of focus my attention more on regenerative and pregenerative medicine and health, and then we have custom picked the absolute best practitioners to operate the lasers and the injectables and we have that team there and, of course, estheticians as well.
Speaker 2I have to imagine that there are people coming in doctor for reasons that, like you say, maybe maybe there's some dysfunction there sexual dysfunction or whatever that they want to see if they can get some help for they do. But then at the same time there's people who kind of are are coming into the practice for I want to just feel better or I want to look better. When you can help the whole person and have all of that benefit, go back home with them and help the family life, you know, because people first feel good when they look good, but when they're feeling good and they're healthy, they're better versions of themselves for the people that are around them. What a mission that you have Sounds to me from what I've heard and what I can imagine and see from the website. We're talking about thousands of people who have been, you know, guests, patients and served by NDA Med Spa. How many years now and how many patients do you think it's been able to serve Well.
Speaker 4We've been open for, you know, three years and I think we approach things very differently. We don't think of ourselves as the local mom and pop medical spa, although we want everyone to feel that they're coming to a place where they can feel that way. We're a regional spot. We've had people who are flying in for some of our really unique services. We get people from New York, from Delaware. We're really passionate about what we do and I think that comes out or oozes out in us as people and our patients, their experiences, and that's. You hit the nail right on the head.
Speaker 4Bob, I want to compliment you because we don't just look at patients coming in for a laser of their hair when they're here. They may come for that, but then we look at them comprehensively, we get to know them. We're comfortable talking about all these sensitive issues like sexual function and weight gain, and you know, these things really affect people's as you mentioned, their outward appearance, but their inward self-confidence and their inward beauty, and we're just kind of helping them on their journey to expose it by giving them the tools, the confidence and the wherewithal that they can, you know, take pride in who they are as a person and, as you mentioned, exudes confidence in the rest of their lives, and that's really what we're passionate about. Well, you are passionate.
Treating Patients Holistically
Speaker 2I can hear it in both your voices You're very passionate. I guess it's fun when you can work together and you believe in the same things and you're ending your hard day but really helping a lot of people and feeling good about that. We really enjoy educating people on what is out there for you and really thinking of not just because something is typical for aging does it make it normal and that you just have to accept it. Right, it's typical to have less energy, have less libido, mental lack of mental focus. And just because that's typical, once you tell us we can say hey, but we can change this for you. And then once people realize that, it's like a game changer.
Speaker 2Are the therapies for the inner healings of things, not when it's like surgical, or not when it's, you know, wrinkles or something like that. Is it when it's well-being? Are the therapies medical? Is it, you know, chelation type stuff, or is it hypnotherapies? How is it? More is just always based on nutrition to make them feel better.
Speaker 3Yeah, nutrition, peptide therapy and we do a lot with hormone replacement.
Speaker 2You know and people yeah.
Speaker 3And a lot of, especially like I'm speaking from a perspective as a woman. A lot of women don't even realize that their testosterone levels go down as they age. They just think about estrogen loss with menopause and even some. I'm 41. I have a little bit of supplementation with testosterone through something called bioidentical hormone replacement therapy with pellets, and even just that small amount in May and I'm not even at a menopausal age yet is huge. I have so much more energy, I feel better. And then what happens? With all that? Everything else gets better.

Well, you seem like a happy couple, so I'm imagining the therapies are working there and I have to applaud you for really being willing to share with the community, not just, you know, be offering services and waiting for people to call and come in the door and sign, but to actually go on a program like this and to be able to share your wealth of knowledge, to be able to encourage people, because there'll be people that might listen and then visit another medical spa or another doctor.
