Welcome to Delco and the vibe
SPEAKER_00Hello, Delco. This is Michael Barcan. Welcoming you to the Good Neighbor Podcast, where fans of local businesses and their neighbors come together. It's my pleasure once again to introduce my friend and neighbor, our host, Bob Blacey.
SPEAKER_02Thank you, Michael Barcan, for that introduction. Everybody, welcome again to another episode of the Good Neighbor Podcast. We're coming to you from Delaware County, Pennsylvania. And if you listen, you've heard me say in the last few episodes how fun is that to hear and see an episode about Delaware County. It's come new episode tonight on that HBO Max program, Task, which is filmed in Delaware County and it's kind of built around that Delaware County vibe that we like to brag about and is really becoming well known around the country. So check out Task on HBO Max. And listen, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, if you're wondering where it is, it's uh just south of the city of Philadelphia, just north of the state of Delaware, in the southeast corner of Pennsylvania, just west of the state of New Jersey. And we come to you from beautiful Delco, as we like to call it. That's the vibe, that's the nickname. And our job here on the Good Neighbor Podcast, Delco, is to bring you good neighbor businesses from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and beyond. Let them become known. And we try to alternate these businesses, and some are services, some are products, even retail. Tonight we've got a mobile service, and it's different. It's unique. It's not what you're gonna think it is. So it's gonna be a lot of fun. Let me bring in, we have a professional with some letters behind her name. Let me bring onto the stage Lisa Sullivan
Meet Lisa and Reboot IV Therapy
SPEAKER_02from uh her business. It's called Reboot IV Therapy. Welcome to the program, Lisa.
SPEAKER_01Thanks, Bob. How are you?
SPEAKER_02Very good. It's great to have you, Lisa. And I've been looking forward to this because, again, as I mentioned, it's a mobile business. We love promoting mobile businesses because they not only can get all over Delaware County, but they can go beyond into Bucks County, Chester County, and Montgomery County. And I read where you do go that far for the service that you provide. Now, I'm gonna say it again for the listeners reboot IV therapy. Now I'll bet the listeners can start to put some of that together. Uh I'll give them another hint, Lisa. I I know that your kind of um mission statement and and really your your your lead is restore, recharge, and revive. So when we hear that, and we hear words like reboot and therapy and IV, I think we're kind of getting close, but let's let's ask the boss here, the registered nurse, Lisa Sullivan. Lisa, why did you found this company, Reboot IV Therapy, and what exactly do you provide for your clients?
How mobile IV care works
SPEAKER_01So we are a mobile hydration business. Uh we're focused on helping people restore their health and wellness. Uh we offer uh customized IV infusions, uh vitamin injections, peptides, um, and just wellness services that will support your energy, recovery, immunity, and just your overall health. Um we um, you know, for athletes or busy parents, because we are busy parents, uh, we're looking, you know, to help people feel better from, you know, um just feeling run down and and all the things that you feel as a busy person.
SPEAKER_02Well, there's a there's I mean, we got to go all the way back up to the front door here, Lisa, because when I was sharing that it's uh a mobile business, we're talking now about a mobile therapy business, but hey, everybody's scratching their head thinking IV therapy? It probably means injections as well. Are you because you're a nurse, I'm imagining this is what it is, but you're actually going to locations for people who need these services and performing them at their home or at their place of business. You're giving injections and you're giving IV bags for a period of time, and and that can cover lots of things. And and I'll tell you, as soon as I heard the first one, you know, um infusion in for for infusion four. Now, these are not prescribed by doctor medicines, perhaps, but they uh are they or are they? Tell us.
SPEAKER_01Well, they are. So I work with a medical director and I have health care providers that uh will perform virtual um assessments of all of our clients just to ensure that they are healthy
Safety, prescriptions, and oversight
SPEAKER_01enough to receive these treatments.
SPEAKER_02And if you're so if you're feeling something, like you know, you're you you're you're marketing your business and and people are talking to a nurse, which is certainly professional enough from the medical field, to say, you know, uh I'm feeling like I I just don't have energy, or I'm feeling like I'm getting sick all the time, or you know, is there anything you can do to help my you know, skin or uh, you know, somehow or other make me perform better as an athlete or perform better in certain rooms of the house, or uh, you know, other things that would give me energy, they're talking to you, and then you're saying, well, there are things, there are things that you can do, whether whether it's it pharmaceutical prescriptions or vitamins or or nutraceuticals or something like that. But at that point, you do want to get professional, more professional medical opinion. And what do you do? Connect them up with your doctors?
SPEAKER_01Yes. So once the appointment is made, then we uh set them up with a virtual visit. Uh, it's usually just a couple of minutes. They are reviewing your medical history, you fill out a forum prior to this virtual visit, um, and then just discuss your past medical history so that we can make sure, like I said, that it's it's safe for you to do.
SPEAKER_02And at that point, it could become little prescribed, a medical doctor would actually prescribe these um controlled uh uh vitamins or controlled uh pharmaceuticals. And then uh so so I'm kind of getting the theory here. You they're talking to you, you're giving them advice, and then virtually they're talking to a doctor, and then I guess virtually a prescription is being uh created, and then virtually the the delivery mechanism of it is you, which is the the drug, the IV bags, whatever they're being sent to you, and then that's where this mobile delivery service comes in, the RN is in the house.
SPEAKER_01Yep. So for the most part, the medications will go directly to me, um, where I just order them myself. Um, and then some where we do have some medications that will go directly to the client because they're just they're specific for the that client. So like our GLP ones will go directly to our clients.
GLP‑1s, weight loss, and access
SPEAKER_01Um, but all the other medications, anything for the IV infusions would come directly to me.
SPEAKER_02Well, we're seeing a lot of that kind of commercial stuff. When you said GPL GLP1s, that that's the big rage these days, right? With weight loss, the drug that's originally intended for you know helping people with diabetes, but finding out that you can actually lose weight. And so part of your therapies could include the GLP ones, right? Correct. Yeah. Wow, that's good to know. And and if people are listening right now, you know, in the in the Delaware County or the five county area of Philadelphia, this is important stuff. We're talking to Lisa Sullivan, who is the owner and the founder of Reboot IV Therapy based in Delaware County. And uh Lisa is an RN with 20 plus years experience as a as a registered nurse, but now is um entrepreneurially taking her profession to the field and doing so with some interesting stuff. You said earlier a word that I've heard, but I don't know what it is. Can you help us understand what peptides are? And where does that come in into your IV therapies?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so peptides are like your um amino acids. Um like the small the amino acids are like the small molecules that link together in a chain. So they're like the short chain of amino acids.
Peptides explained in plain English
SPEAKER_01Um, you know, they act as like the messengers in your body. They tell the cells what to do, depending on, you know, any type, you know, they could boost your growth hormone, they could support muscle growth and fat loss, um, increase or improve your skin health and your collagen production, um, enhance healing and recovery. They do all of those things, um, regulate your appetite and your metabolism and energy. Um, so like some examples of that, the ones that we supply, um uh we do somorin, that's one, um, that's the one that releases um or increases the release of growth hormone as um, you know, in adults that you know, you think, why do I need a growth hormone as adult? But that it does all of those things. Um, again, like I said, like help with the lean, muscle mass, uh, fat absorption, um, skin health, collagen production, all of that.
SPEAKER_02And and if if if the doctor were to talk to your clients and find that um this really kind of is needed from almost a medical perspective, some of these items, would would that same doctor, would the company be able to uh take any medical insurance, or is most of this all in a in a kind of an elective process that you're gonna be paying, but probably cheaper because it's done in a in a very efficient way?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, so yeah, so important to know that like we don't treat, we support. So we support what you're like you're trying to help you reach your goals. Um, so when talking to the medical professional, you can tell them what your goals are and they will determine whether or not you're healthy enough to receive these these this support.
SPEAKER_02So it's an elective, an elective choice that you're making because you're recognizing that, you know, I don't have energy. Or or hey, when you when you mentioned uh performance, uh, you know, athletic performance enhancement, I was thinking of like Tom Brady, the football quarterback, right? It was known for years that he took IV therapies. And so really we're talking about if you're if you're aging and you're feeling like you need to keep up, uh, you know, from an energy perspective, sometimes vitamins that you take can't stay in your system long enough, and they have to get in by way of IV, as I've always heard it. So this is this is a way of being able to uh get medically prescribed uh pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, you know, whatever is is going to be able to work for you if the doctor says it's okay, and and then to be able to, in the privacy of your own efforts, uh not only having virtual uh diagnosis and conversation with a medical professional,
Elective care, costs, FSA/HSA
SPEAKER_02but virtual implementation. The IV therapy can actually happen uh at your timing, at your place of business or your your home. And that's a real convenience to people, Lisa. I mean, you're finding that there's a real need for people because they're so busy or they're just I don't feel like want to go out to the doctors for this stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep. Yeah, and again, it's just kind of to support uh them to you know start to feel like themselves again. Again, like, you know, I I have four kids, I work multiple jobs, my husband's a union carpenter, so we know what it feels like to run on empty. And I just wanted to kind of address something that you had said. You mentioned about health insurance. So it is elective, it is out of pocket, but we do um accept FSA and HSA cards.
SPEAKER_02Well, good point. And for everybody listening, if you're not remembering the acronyms, that's that kind of uh employment service where your employer might allow you uh to be able to put money from your paycheck into a fund, HSA type fund, and now uh then use a card to pay for over-the-counter um medical-related items that now you're able to buy with um pre-tax cash that you've put aside and save save at least the tax base on that money that you'll be spending. Because some of this could get expensive, um, but but this is a way of getting it and getting it with your your HSA card and getting it delivered mobily. Uh Lisa, we have to one more time before we come to close, talk about this list of many services. So, so I I want to just remind the the listeners to to
Convenience, busy lives, real use cases
SPEAKER_02get a get a pen and uh think this through here as Lisa's gonna kind of go over one more time these services that her company reboot Ivy Therapy. And and now I'm starting to really understand the restore, recharge, and revive Lisa. It's a great slogan because it's exactly what you're delivering. And if and if anybody would like to um you know talk with Lisa, I think it's best to just say, hey, you can check Lisa out on Facebook. She's got a lot of postings and she's able to take uh direct messaging right through Facebook. Just just look up reboot IV, the capital letter I and capital letter V, reboot IV therapy in Facebook. You'll see Lisa's Facebook page. And if you'd like to call Lisa, she's given us permission to give out her phone number. It's 484-995-4398. And and Lisa, I as I promised the listeners, I would like them to just hear one more time because in the categories of you know, IV infusion or or vitamin injections, peptides you talked about. Give us kind of the menu in a in a listed way of the many things that
Services menu: drips, shots, peptides
SPEAKER_02if you're feeling this or if you feel in need of this, you might want to talk about um rebooting yourself through IV therapy. What would those many things be again?
SPEAKER_01Um, so we have we have a lot. So we have uh a prenatal infusion, uh, one for migraines. We have a Myers cocktail. So if anybody's familiar with that, that's a good one. Fat burner infusion, energy, detox for you know the hangovers, immunity, uh, beauty and youth, uh, athlete recovery. And then we have the GLP ones, um, the semaglutide and tersipatide. We also offer NAD, which is the um anti-aging ones, what all the celebrities are doing. Uh then we have the peptides, um, the semorin, and we have glutathione. Uh, that's another really exciting one that I'm I probably am gonna try myself. Um, and then the vitamin B complex and B12.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_02I mean, and and none of that is in the category of um, you know, supplements and and steak oils that we hear about. This is all professional, well-known, medically proven kind of products that are known to help, but more so you're not gonna just take them because you think you should, or even Lisa might recommend them. Lisa's gonna talk it over with you, and then you're gonna be talking to a medical professional doctor that's gonna prescribe them. Those drugs would be delivered to Lisa as the as the registered nurse who would be able to come and deliver them to you, either by injection or by IV therapy. So, wow, what a what a great business this is, Lisa. I mean, it's truly a wonderfully good neighbor business in our community in Delaware County, uh, stretching out into Montgomery County, Chester County, Bucks County, even the city of Philadelphia, to be able to have Lisa come to you to reboot you through IV therapy to restore, recharge, and revive, as Lisa said. Lisa, thank you for using your professional standing, your practice, your years of practice as a registered nurse to now bring this business right into our homes.
