At just 22 years old, Faiza was pursuing her education at an Afghan university when the Taliban stormed in, threatening to arrest her for wearing "unmodest" clothing—a simple T-shirt and pants. Soon after, she and countless other Afghan women were stripped of their right to education and barred from extracurricular activities. Forced to abandon her art classes, Faiza faced a heartbreaking decision: find a way to leave her country or risk losing her future.
How did she manage to escape? What challenges awaited her abroad? And what is life like now, navigating a new country on her own?
