What if the most radical evidence of following Jesus isn’t how we treat our friends… but how we respond to our enemies?
In Week 9 of our A Different Way series through the Sermon on the Mount, we explore one of Jesus’ hardest teachings: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” In a world that runs on retaliation, resentment, and self-protection, Jesus invites us into a completely different way—the way of the Kingdom.
This message unpacks the tension between what people had heard about the Law and what God actually intended, revealing that even our enemies are our neighbors. You’ll be challenged to rethink what love really means—not as a feeling, but as a choice—and discover how praying for those who have hurt you can actually begin to transform your heart.
Ultimately, this teaching points us back to the gospel: that while we were once enemies of God, Jesus loved us first.
