Rolling on a river.
Speaker 2:That was hearty Good job. Wow, I didn't know that it was and I panicked.
Speaker 1:Okay, ready.
Speaker 2:Mm-hmm the A-List. Welcome back to the a-list podcast with allison and alex.
Speaker 1:no one mourns so wicked okay, we didn't even plan that. No, we didn't. I just read your lips because I'm cool like that.
Speaker 2:You are, hey, how's it going?
Speaker 1:Hey, good, how are you? I'm going to kind of sit to the left of the pole, just so you don't.
Speaker 2:Hey, if you're new here, I'm Allison.
Speaker 1:And if you're not new here, I'm Alex.
Speaker 2:Wait what I don't know.
Speaker 1:If anyone's new here, that's Allie and I'm Alex. Yes, and together.
Speaker 2:We're the A-list.
Speaker 1:It's true.
Speaker 2:Hey.
Speaker 1:And.
Speaker 2:What by?
Speaker 1:listening to this podcast. You're on the A-list.
Speaker 2:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1:The A-list. Remember that one.
Speaker 2:And Stanley is not on camera, but he looks really cute and he's here. Oh yeah, I was trying to get him to sing a little bit ago.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to get him to just relax right now so that I can get comfortable hey, my rocking chair um I'm gonna say it again.
Speaker 2:I feel like I've said it the last couple episodes, but we had someone else ask, alex is not on camera right now he will be at the first of the year. If you want the story, you can go back to probably the last thumbnail that he's present in and that will tell you that is accurate. Why he's not here, but don't worry He'll be back.
Speaker 1:Episode 30 is the last episode that I was in.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay.
Speaker 1:I believe Um, yes again. So thank you for being so concerned and wanting to see my face. I appreciate it.
Speaker 2:I will see you in. January but you'll hear me right now, yeah, so uh, we'll get to wicked later, cause I don't want to jump in, you know that quickly, but the singing, you know, gave you a little taste that we're going to talk about some wicked stuff.
Speaker 1:Yeah, wicked Awesome.
Speaker 2:But what else was what's been happening this week?
Speaker 1:You know nothing really recorded? Wait, didn't we record, we recorded later in the week?
Speaker 2:No, didn't we record?
Speaker 1:We recorded Later in the week?
Speaker 2:No, I feel like it was Tuesday last week.
Speaker 1:Okay, so we had a dodgeball game and we won. We are. We got to buy like we thought we would.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we're the number one seed we got to buy and we, you know, we play one game this coming Wednesday.
Speaker 1:So right now you're listening to this and we have already played that game.
Speaker 2:Correct and hopefully we will have one so that we can go on to the championship game.
Speaker 1:Right, so the buy allows us to only play once on Wednesday, whereas the team that we will be playing will have just completed a game. They're doing a double header.
Speaker 2:Oh okay.
Speaker 1:So to me. Initially I was like that's great, we can all be rested. I'm going to text the team tomorrow and be like can everyone try to get there at eight 30? I'd like us all to like really get together and strategize some sort of a plan.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And stretch, because the other team is going to be tired from having just won their previous game. Yeah, the other team is going to be tired from having just won their previous game, yeah. However, upon thinking about it more, it really could go either way. They could be incredibly warmed up.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And really blow us out of the water, or they could be exhausted.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And because there is no break in between the games, they literally finish We'll be able to get a drink of water and then it's right. We have 10 minutes to like warm up on the court and then we go.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I do think. Um, I think it'll be a little bit of both. I think they will be tired, but I do think there'll be in the groove, true? So we, we, we should correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1:I still don't understand sports at all, even though this is the number one podcast. Yeah, um, the teams that are going head to head, that are going to determine who we play, are the two lowest in the season, right? Isn't that how it works?
Speaker 2:yeah, so if we, if there was an even amount of teams and we wouldn't have had a buy, then we would have played the last place, seed okay so usually the best and the worst play each other, which is what we experienced on Labor Day.
Speaker 1:Correct Got it.
Speaker 2:And then from there, because there's only four teams right, or there are five.
Speaker 1:There's five.
Speaker 2:So yeah.
Speaker 1:So the two worst played each other, or did the second best and the worst?
Speaker 2:play. I think it's the second best and the worst. Yeah, have you ever looked at like a March Madness basketball bracket?
Speaker 1:Never in my life.
Speaker 2:Okay, well then, never mind, I've looked at a family tree. Um different different.
Speaker 1:Oh, we did an escape room on Saturday. That's something we did.
Speaker 2:We did. It was very hard and I will say we got out, but we had to ask a lot of questions, and that's because I think the one thing that really we should have gotten is the. There was a clue that there was like two gears and one had letters on it, one had numbers or whatever we should have gotten that one, that one was I will say there was another one that I think that we would have never gotten, and it was that family tree, right, it was so confusing.
Speaker 1:Yes, and here's the thing. We did ask five times for a hint, but this place doesn't give hints, it gives answers, and I forgot about that. Yeah, they just like tell you they literally are like do this, that's not a hint. No that is a let me help you move along, and I forgot about that, Because when I want a hint, I just want something that's like have you explored this area?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1:Oh, but we did get out with like four minutes to spare.
Speaker 2:Yeah, four or five.
Speaker 1:Did he email the picture, by the way, because I didn't get it.
Speaker 2:Possibly, I haven't seen it.
Speaker 1:Because it would have been sent to everyone who was registered.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I did not get it.
Speaker 1:That's some absolute BS.
Speaker 2:That is, you want me to email them and ask yeah, and tell them they probably got rid of it?
Speaker 1:Mitch.
Speaker 2:Mitch. Our game master did not send us the photo. Yeah, I'll ask.
Speaker 1:Anyway, so we did an escape room.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:I spent the whole day with my cousin who was here from Florida, went to Santa Monica and then the Grove and had a great time.
Speaker 2:Very like LA day.
Speaker 1:She had never seen the Pacific ocean.
Speaker 2:And was she shocked at how cold it was?
Speaker 1:She was excited about that. Remember, she's from the, she's from the Florida keys.
Speaker 2:What, but she was excited about it being cold. Yeah, because she's like used to hot, humidity ocean okay, for sure but, like the, the water being cold, oh we didn't touch the water, sorry got it, but the beach itself was like refreshing and nice.
Speaker 1:It was a gorgeous day with the perfect temperature.
Speaker 2:Like we were in, like jeans and a t-shirt, and it was just comfortable yeah, I think the water being so cold is the shocker, because when you go to Florida, yeah, there it's humid, but when you want to get in the water it feels nice because it is more. You know it was a warmer. It's a warmer temperature. It still could be cold based on you know the time of year, I guess, but for the most part, like it's a, it's a better temperature to get in. The Pacific ocean is always cold.
Speaker 1:True, and it would have to be. It has to be a very, very hot day.
Speaker 2:It has to be one of those middle of the summer it's over a hundred vibe to be okay to get in that, but the rest of the year it's like it's too cold.
Speaker 1:I agree. Don't worry, I'm not going to force you in the water.
Speaker 2:I have never been inside of the pacific ocean, so you have a lot of opinions.
Speaker 1:Have you touched it with your toes?
Speaker 2:I've touched it, but I just I haven't gotten in because it's so cold and I actually haven't been to the beach in a like beach day type of vibe where you know the beach towels and the ever no, when my mom was here the very first time, I took her to malibu, but we it was cold we kind of did that when reagan was here, kind of we just sat there yeah on the beach, I mean and we were in cozy beach day like warm got it, got it bathing suit, some drinks in the cooler yes laying on that type of thing drinks in the cooler
Speaker 1:drinks in the suds in the bucket, in the closing and out on the line well, that's our catch-up, because I feel like nothing else has happened.
Speaker 2:That's worth.
Speaker 1:Except the election, but we're not getting into it. I hope everyone's safe and fine.
Speaker 2:Yeah Well, this past week, outside of the election, the big news has been the breakup of Zach Bryan and Brianna Chicken Fry. I know that you do not know these people.
Speaker 1:You might know who Zach Bryan is. I thought that was news weeks ago.
Speaker 2:Well, that's, yes, the breakup, but this past week has been more news that has come out about them and I knew that you didn't know, like the ins and outs of it.
Speaker 1:Like okay, is that her? Is that her like family name?
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Her like family name is. Her family name is La Paglia, but she created chicken fry when she was in college. She started making content and that's how Barstool found her.
Speaker 2:Oh got it and she just I don't know if it was a funny thing, I think it has something to do with her legs, it. And she just I don't know if it was a funny thing, I think it has something to do with her legs. I think that people made fun of her, called her chicken legs or something, and then she used that as her I do love chicken fries oh my gosh.
Speaker 1:So good, a little bit of chicken fried wow, that's the second country song that one of us has pulled out well, that's because zach bryant is a country singer and country's on my mind.
Speaker 2:But I knew that you didn't know this, so I asked chat GPT to summarize the events of this past week and I'm going to read it to you to give you the lore please. Okay, everyone get ready.
Speaker 1:Buckle up.
Speaker 2:Okay Country singer Zach Bryan and barstool sports personality Brianna Chicken Fry ended their relationship in October 24, 2024, after more than a year together. Bryan announced the breakup on Instagram, expressing respect and love for Chicken Fry and citing personal struggles as a reason for their separation. He acknowledged his imperfections and requested privacy for both parties. He acknowledged his imperfections and requested privacy for both parties. Chicken Fry responded by stating she was blindsided by Brian's public announcement, revealing that she had no prior knowledge of his intention to share the news. She expressed her desire to heal privately and took a brief hiatus from social media Following the breakup. Tensions escalated when Chicken Fry claimed that Brian blocked her Barstool colleagues on social media. In response, barstool founder Davenoy and call it and colleague josh richards released a diss track titled smallest man. This is in reference to dave is a big taylor swift fan and he's been calling him the smallest man who ever lived, which is a song on tortured poets society we all know that.
Speaker 2:So yeah, smallest man criticizing brian's character and actions. The song included personal jabs and references to alleged behaviors during the relationship. This kind of included, like std stuff and, um, some other kind of I don't know just not good things yeah.
Speaker 2:Chicken fry later alleged on her bffs podcast that brian subjected her to emotional abuse and claimed he offered her get ready 12 million dollars to sign a non-disclosure agreement to remain silent about their relationship. These allegations intensified the public discourse surrounding their breakup. As of now, brian has not publicly responded to these allegations and the situation remains a topic of public interest. Brie Brianna did not take the $12 million.
Speaker 1:The way I would have taken that $12 million in a second.
Speaker 2:So that's the end of the chat, gbt, this is me adding some color to it. So she was going back and forth. She doesn't come from much, she doesn't come from a family of money or anything. So initially she was like I'd be silly not to to take it. It was going to be paid out over like a three to four year time period, so she wouldn't have gotten it up front and in my opinion I thought I feel like his lawyers would try any way to get out of paying it. She says one thing that is even remotely close to anything she's not allowed to say. They would would claim breach of contract in my opinion, because he doesn't want to pay $12 million Anyway. So she in the end decided not to take it. There was some back and forth with his lawyers and Dave kind of got involved because they were who's Dave.
Speaker 2:Dave Portnoy, the owner of Barstool. Barstool, okay, and he's on the podcast with got it and they were Zach's lawyers, were kind of giving a run around and, they think, trying to push it to towards the election so that the news of this would get buried under election news. And because they waited so long, um, she decided not to take it and she was like I want to be able to tell my story and Dave was like you are going to make more money than that?
Speaker 1:Yeah, think of the book deal.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're going to make more money than that, and he was like I will take care of you, basically. So she didn't take it and he has a couple of exes before this. The ex right before he started dating Brianna she has never said one thing about their relationship. So now people are like oh, she also got paid because she's online. She has a kind of a TikTok couple hundred thousand followers. She's never said one thing about their breakup and so everyone's like oh, she got paid too, because I'm sorry, this iske bryan zach bryan, zach bryant, yes I know, I can't even picture him he is just like a blonde white guy.
Speaker 2:You mean, I can show you really fast I can look on my phone too.
Speaker 2:I just couldn't find it um, so, and also people are saying 12 million million kind of is leading people to think that there's really bad things, that he doesn't want her to get out Cause that's such a high, it's such a big dollar amount. That she alluded to emotional abuse and stuff. And then she kind of said, uh, there's some things that I don't want to talk about, that I'm not like emotionally ready to talk about. So then people are kind of taking the context of that and being like and assuming that he was physically abusive because $12 million is an insane amount of money.
Speaker 1:That is not a slight amount. Yeah, so that's kind of been the big news of the week can honestly outside of the election would have never known this person in the lineup yeah, he's very famous what is his song that he's famous for?
Speaker 2:I don't know, I don't listen to him but you know his, we know he's famous.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I've definitely heard the name for sure.
Speaker 2:I've heard his name in the world and then I really know more about him because I follow her and so I saw their relationship online.
Speaker 1:But I wouldn't know, oh my God, he's a child, he's 28.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he's, it's a, it's a lot.
Speaker 1:Okay, I was just curious what like he was so knowing for. But yeah.
Speaker 2:So, knowing all of that, would you still have taken the money if you were in her position? Cause, if you're just like a no a regular person not online, then you don't have like a, you don't have a, a platform to speak on. So maybe taking the 12 million is an easier choice.
Speaker 1:Maybe, but she does have a platform and a following and probably a job that pays a decent amount.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So no, probably initially I'm like she has two big podcasts too, cause not only is she on, the BFFs podcast she has her own podcasts that are both pretty big. So I think it was the right choice and it shows that she's like scrupled, you know. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Okay, so I'm looking at his top songs. Couldn't tell you, couldn't even hum one. You know, but like good for him, I guess.
Speaker 2:Nah, he's a bad guy, something's up.
Speaker 2:Stanley, come on, Okay nah, he's a bad guy. Something's up staley, come on. Okay. Well, I hope that she is happy she deserves. Yeah, she seems to be, uh, coming, you know, back into her old self, like, yeah, you could tell over the past year she was not doing well, looking back, she lost a bunch of weight and she just changed a lot about her personality from what people had followed her before and people started to not like her and now, knowing this, I think that she's gotten some people back on her side.
Speaker 1:Okay, yeah that sucks yeah but like, yeah, 12 million, what's he trying to cover up?
Speaker 2:yeah, it's so much money scary which is like another thing of just people who are in rich and famous and they can just buy their way out of everything, because people again who don't have a platform, they're going to take the money and they're not going to say anything right and then it's just this is, this is America. Yeah Well, speaking of music, the Grammy nominations came out. I didn't realize that they do that so early.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because the Academy gets to vote.
Speaker 2:And so it's in February, so they have Two and a half months.
Speaker 1:Probably two months. I'm sure they lock it in like a couple of weeks prior because they got to prepare everything.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, I thought that I would read some of the big ones and we can just say our thoughts.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Album of the year, which I did look up, that no Album is self-explanatory. I looked up record of the year because I feel like we asked this question last year and I have a full description this time because I knew I would be confused. Yeah, okay, so album of the year. Nominees are cowboy carter, beyonce, new blue sun, andre 3000, jesse, volume 4, jacob collier, short and sweet, sabrina carpenter, the tortured poets department, taylor swift. Obviously there's more writers on these that I'm not reading, so don't come for me. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess Chapel, roan Brat, charlie XCX and Hit Me Hard and Soft, billie Eilish. Who do you think is going to win?
Speaker 1:I think it's going to be close between Beyonce and Sabrina.
Speaker 2:No, sabrina, oh, you don't think. No, I don't think no torch.
Speaker 1:I don't think torture did as good as previous Taylor albums.
Speaker 2:Interesting. Yeah, I mean it's so. First of all the extended one. There's so many songs.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think she'll win something. I don't think it's going to be record or album of the year.
Speaker 2:And you don't think brat is in the mix.
Speaker 1:No, Sabrina is out playing all of these people right now. Okay, I but Cowboy Carter is iconic.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I believe you and I also think Billy's got some iconic songs from the album, but I don't think the album is that crazy, okay Interesting. Next we have rap album which is the death of slim shady Eminem. Alligator bites Never heal. Dochi might delete later J Cole, the auditorium volume one common and we don't trust you future. These are some good people.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I would. It's fun. I want it to be Dochi, but I don't think it's going to be honestly one woman. I know, that's why in this whole thing. I feel like.
Speaker 2:Eminem has had a resurgence.
Speaker 1:I was going to say he also hasn't had a nom for a long time.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so it'd be cool to see Eminem get it Grandpa Mark Mathers.
Speaker 1:Grandpa Mathers.
Speaker 2:Okay, record of the year, which let me read you the description. Everyone Record of the year recognizes the artist, producer, recording engineer, mixer and mastering engineer for the song, so it's the production of the song we have fortnight taylor, swift birds of a feather, billy eilish not like us, kendrick lamar. Good luck, babe. Travel. Roan espresso, sabrina 360, charlie xcx, now and then the beatles and texas hold'em beyonce. Did they re-release that, or I'm confused? I haven't heard anything about the beatles they must have done a re-release a re-release or a never before?
Speaker 2:released for sure, because if it was just paul and ringo which they're not are they making music together? Sure, then I feel like it would just be the two of them. They wouldn't release something under the name the beatles if it was the two of them true in my opinion, I think not like us is gonna win, to be honest who's that by? Kendrick lamar. That song is everywhere I think it'll be.
Speaker 1:It's this one's gonna be, I think, espresso, or I think there's three birds of a feather no, it's not gonna win okay I think it's gonna be espresso. Good luck, babe. Or um the torture poets, one by taylor okay because they, the grammys, love acknowledging jack antonoff yeah and he.
Speaker 2:We should keep um track of what we think and see who was right if any well, we have this to play back true, but that means we actually have to go back and listen what are the grammy section? Yeah, okay, song of the year, a fortnight birds of a feather, not like us. Good luck, babe. Please, please, please. A bar song. Tipsy shabuzy die with a smile.
Speaker 1:Lady gaga and texas hold'em beyonce now this one, I think, could be not like us oh, okay.
Speaker 2:So you think oh, because I the production of it yes, because they do love jack, love jack. Yeah, I think this could win song of the year, kendrick so I also looked up um song of the year can have wait interesting. So I thought, uh, the shibuzi song was nominated for record because I looked up the song of the year and it says that it can be no samples or interpolations. That which we love to talk about on this podcast, um songs, be no samples or interpolations which we love to talk about on this podcast um, songs with prominent samples or interpolations are not eligible.
Speaker 2:In shabuzy's song, a bar song has tipsy in it like it's. Like the title is a bar song, in parentheses tipsy. So that is weird. So it must not be enough of a sample or whichever it is interpolation well, you is this song of the year.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's different. You just said that, didn't you say you looked up record of the year. Can't have no song.
Speaker 2:I looked up record of the year but then I looked up song of the year and it says no samples or interpolations so it must not be enough, then what is that song?
Speaker 1:I can't even picture it. Got it okay and it's tipsy what's tipsy?
Speaker 2:everybody in the club getting tipsy it is. Yeah, didn't know here, let me play a little bit for you no, it's not.
Speaker 1:I think it's just it's because it's just lyrics oh, so interesting.
Speaker 2:This whole time I feel like I maybe I've just told myself that so I can hear it. But to me the chorus I can hear tipsy in another shot of whiskey yes, but it's lyrics.
Speaker 1:There's no melody in what they're saying, what he's saying okay so it's basically like giving credit to the songwriter yeah, for the words, but he's not going, he's. There's no melody, he's not singing. Oh jay um jay-z jay kwan jay kwan. Everybody in the club getting tipsy, he's just talking. Okay, it's a. I think so that he got the technicality. Yes, he fell through the cracks it's a technicality interesting okay, well, interesting.
Speaker 2:That song is pretty big, so could be in the mix that's true, it is.
Speaker 1:But, uh, and I don't think please, please, please, we'll win this one yeah, I feel like if it was espresso yeah or bed cam but they you submit your songs, correct.
Speaker 2:So I think they chose to submit please, please, please for, please for this and Espresso for the other one.
Speaker 1:They may. They could have submitted them all for all of them oh fair, fair, fair.
Speaker 2:Okay. Next is New Artist which I cannot say this person's name, and I do apologize to them.
Speaker 1:Krongbin K-H-R-A-U-N-G-B-I-N.
Speaker 2:I want to look them up on instagram right now to pay my respects. Yeah, I need to see. Oh, they're a musical trio spelled again, please k-h-r-u-a-n-g-b-i-n got it. They do psychedelic rock, surf rock, funk it means airplane is what their? Bio says they look cool. Their instagram is just like okay, they look dope as fuck we're gonna have to try it out, try them out, okay.
Speaker 1:Anyway, what was? Uh?
Speaker 2:we'll move on, move on, move on sabrina carpenter, shibuzi dochi, teddy swims, chapel, roan benson, boone ray. Honestly, a lot of people right is has been in the game, but I guess sabrina carpenter has been releasing albums since 2014 I know I really hate this category. It is it doesn't make sense no, it doesn't because you and you can also nominate yourself only like three times for this. So she never nominated herself or submitted herself probably not, or she then she is eligible to sure do it, but it doesn't make sense it should be.
Speaker 2:Also doji should have been nominated last year with what it is yeah um I honestly think teddy swims probably will win benson boone is a top contender.
Speaker 1:I can't believe that song wasn't nominated for I want you, I need you.
Speaker 2:Was that last year, or was it this year?
Speaker 1:This year.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, well, yeah, honestly, any of these people could win.
Speaker 1:I feel like Benson might get it.
Speaker 2:Unfortunately, I think Krongbin is not going to win.
Speaker 1:And I'm sorry to them, although last year was that jazz artist that we talked about last week.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, true, okay, let's skip forward to a music video.
Speaker 1:We have Fortnite, not to a music video we have fortnight not like us. 360 houdini and taylor swift by asap rocky not taylor getting two noms technically, yeah. Um, I would love for 360 to win, but I think it's probably going to be I haven't seen that video not fortnight. Let's say them again, please fortnight not like us. 360 houdini taylor swift houdini was pretty iconic yeah it's weird that dua didn't get a nomination, oh sorry, this is not duoliba.
Speaker 2:This is eminem oh interesting that two people have the same name of a song.
Speaker 1:Okay, well, in this in this case, I feel like not like me probably not like us like us. I'm sorry, who am I Not like us?
Speaker 2:Okay. Pop vocal album Eternal Sunshine. Ariana Grande, short and Sweet. Sabrina Tortured, poets, taylor. The Rise and Fall of the Midwest Princess Chapel. Roan, hit Me Hard and Soft. Billie Eilish this could be Chapel.
Speaker 1:I think it will be Chapel or Short and Sweet.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Unfortunately I just don't think this is billy's year.
Speaker 1:I agree. I think that birds of a feather could win.
Speaker 2:That's something. If it is, yeah, well it.
Speaker 1:It was nominated for earlier ones it was, but I don't think it will outplay sabrina or outwin um, let's go to is olivia rodrigo, not nominated for anything?
Speaker 2:oh, I guess I haven't seen her name oh, I just saw her name actually for song written for visual media she's on this list can't catch me now interesting.
Speaker 1:That's from a movie okay, pop solo performance.
Speaker 2:This could be birds of a feather, uh, birds of a feather at billy espresso. Sabrina, apple, charlie, bodyguard beyonce, and good luck, babe chapel I just think sabrina's gonna sweep the grammys work.
Speaker 1:It has like like she's broken so many records.
Speaker 2:It's wild if you look into it oh, I actually have not looked at statistics yeah, this album is like going nuts pop group duo performance. Unfortunately, this is the first year that bts has not been nominated in like a handful of years because they're in the army. Yeah, we have the boys mine. This is Ariana, brandy and Monica us Taylor Swift, gracie Abrams. I would like that to win so that Brandy and Monica get me too.
Speaker 2:I would love that Guess Billy and Charlie could be Levi's jeans. Beyonce, post Malone and die with a smile. Lady Gaga, bruno Mars. Taylor and post Malone and die with a smile. Lady Gaga, bruno Mars.
Speaker 1:Taylor and post Malone weren't nominated no us, taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams interesting not the what's the one with post Malone the lead single it's nominated for everything else true, um, I would really love to see Ariana and post is in the Beyonce one, so maybe that's why I didn't get picked.
Speaker 2:Or maybe they didn't submit it because he was also being submitted.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry Megan Thee Stallion wasn't nominated for Hiss. No In Rap Album.
Speaker 2:Oh, I didn't read those. No, you did.
Speaker 1:Dochi was the only one.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, Sorry yeah.
Speaker 1:What that's? That's actually wild that is wild.
Speaker 2:She's had a great year. I want the boys mind to win I do too okay. R&b album 11 11 chris brown coming home, usher revenge, mooney long banta black la la hathaway and algorithm lucky day here's the thing.
Speaker 1:Maybe we should give it to usher one more time one more time I would. I loved 11, 11 yeah listen guys. I know, I know, but I love separating the art from the artist which I know you shouldn't do, but that album 11 11 and specifically that song 11, 11, yeah, it's good, it's so good it's like really hard to.
Speaker 2:It is hard, but yeah, these hills, I just, I just like picture someone else same musical theater album is that a thing?
Speaker 1:yeah, they don't announce, they never say on the show suffs from the broadway jets yeah, original broadway cast, that's good music oh, that's the show, yeah it's about the suffragettes.
Speaker 2:Got it. I would like probably like them the notebook. Original Broadway cast Ingrid Michaelson I got chills. I haven't heard it. It's so I started following bad musical theater person.
Speaker 1:Sorry, finished and we'll talk.
Speaker 2:Okay, the outsider is a new musical. The whiz 2024 Broadway cast recording. And hell's kitchen original broadway cast.
Speaker 1:That is alicia keys. Yeah, it's gonna go to alicia or it's gonna go to ingrid the notebook. I'm getting chills again thinking about it. I love ingrid michaelson. I always have I think like she's an insane songwriter yeah and she's got like these random pop hits that just come out of nowhere yeah fucking love it, but the music she wrote for this musical is.
Speaker 2:Is it the movie the Notebook adapted?
Speaker 1:Correct, and so I've listened to the whole album without knowing the Notebook. I forgot to tell you. I tried to watch the Notebook the other day. It's on Netflix and I was like let me put this on and stay awake. First of all, screw her. She's so annoying Like he's like literally so charming and trying to like impress her so much. And this is how it comes across I'm rich and you all pull. I don't want to know who you are. Go away from me.
Speaker 2:How far did you get in? Um not far enough, then no I was just, I didn't get it. Okay, you have to keep watching.
Speaker 1:Well, I will, because the music from the musical is out of this world.
Speaker 2:I'll have to listen.
Speaker 1:It's incredible and I hope that it wins.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, I guess we'll find out in February and we'll come back to this.
Speaker 1:I'll be on camera. Yeah, Don't forget you guys.
Speaker 2:Okay, I thought we could go through the Wicked premiere outfit looks, because that's fun, and give a couple thoughts on them.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I'll put the photos up on the video and if you want to see them, then you can go to the video. Okay, okay, this is J-Lo, and let me tell you. This has nothing to do with Wicked.
Speaker 1:No, she looks like a peacock.
Speaker 2:I feel like she wears this kind of thing everywhere she goes.
Speaker 1:That is just classic JLo. She may have had that in her closet.
Speaker 2:For real. Okay, cynthia looks so fire, get out of here.
Speaker 1:Every single time she shows up Latex green, I mean wow. The nails. Her nails are always like that.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Incredible.
Speaker 2:Okay, this is Ari's look, and I think she looks like Little Bo Peep and I don't like it.
Speaker 1:Okay, I like it. It's very cutesy, very cutesy.
Speaker 2:I get it, but it's not giving me. It's not giving Glinda to me.
Speaker 1:It's giving Little Bo Peep. I liked her look at the Australian premiere better.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:But this is what we've got.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's. Yeah, it's not my favorite, it's okay. Yeah, kristen chenoweth, kristen looks good. I feel like this silhouette is giving bubble. Yeah, and I'm into it yeah, it is. I wish she would have gone pink, but she's also the, you know.
Speaker 1:I feel like she's trying to give ari her she is yeah you know time she also wore white went to the like new york viewing of wicked for all the wicked alphabets and glendas white.
Speaker 2:Okay, so she's consciously like I'm not wearing pink on purpose.
Speaker 1:I love this yeah I mean the sleeve, I could do without, but I love how sleek adina menzel looks in this outfit yeah, it looks great.
Speaker 2:I feel like she's doing the same thing. They probably text each other and they were like, hey, let's not, you know alpha wears black that's true, so it's cynthia went with like the green. For the contrast, she went with like yeah, she does, but I feel like when you think of it, you're, you think green, so your thought is to wear green.
Speaker 1:But you're right, she does she's giving us elfaba took the potion and got her skin de-greened.
Speaker 2:She took the green. Yeah them next to each other. I'm just like you're a little bit of people, and that's all I can think also, like I know, ari is short, so this must mean that so is cynthia yeah, I actually just heard that she is very short, but she wears high heels to even get herself there I'm unimpressed with this I think this is, uh, jonathan bailey, and I hate this outfit. I do as well. What is this shirt?
Speaker 1:It looks like.
Speaker 2:He got it from like ASOS Party City.
Speaker 1:It's a 70s costume top.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess, like for the people listening, we're not explaining any of these things to you and I do apologize for that. So you really do have to go look at the video, and I'm not trying to get you to just go look or just Google it.
Speaker 1:I'm not trying to get you to just Google it. Yeah, just Google, google. Everyone's like premier looks. Yeah.
Speaker 2:I hate it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's not for me.
Speaker 2:It's not good, ethan Slater is better, but I do think it could be tailored a little bit better to his body.
Speaker 1:It's velvet. I don't give enough about that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I just think it could be like a little bit listeners.
Speaker 1:He's wearing suit, jacket, bow tie, white shirt, classic.
Speaker 2:But it is. I like the idea of it. I just think it's not tailored as well as it could be.
Speaker 1:This is Normani, oh Normani, and she's giving she is at the sexy place in Oz. Yeah, she is, she has garters on.
Speaker 2:But the green is cute. It's giving brat this green it is.
Speaker 1:It's a brighter green, but the garters?
Speaker 2:are adorable yeah. Love brat this green, it is, it's a brighter green but the garters.
Speaker 1:But she looks great adorable.
Speaker 2:Yeah, love it shoes are really cute. Yeah, yeah, michelle michelle looks great.
Speaker 1:Uh, michelle, you, what's her last name?
Speaker 2:yo, michelle, yo is wearing a beautiful black dress and has blonde hair. Yeah, beaded long dress um her blonde hair.
Speaker 1:Is there popping?
Speaker 2:I'm marissa bode, she plays, she actually nessa rose and she actually she actually is in a wheelchair. Yes, she's actually, yeah, she actually is in the wheelchair and that she looks great. She's wearing like a cream sequined like big sequin we love. I like actually didn't know that, so I think that's great that they cast her I do too this is um pommel horse, steve pommel horse steve.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay, I don't. I guess his girlfriend stars I got it. Yeah, jeff goldblum classic. I was just watching him. I love his jacket. It's so good yeah, he's wearing a green long.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he looks he's playing the part and his wife, let's go. Victoria monet I probably won't add okay, but let's just get to frankie let's just get to it.
Speaker 1:He said I'm glenda on top, I'm elphaba on the bottom and I'm frankie grande in the face so iconically, frankie grande.
Speaker 2:Like, if you, if I, if you were to ask me what he would look like, I would have 100 explained.
Speaker 1:Yep could have pieced that together in a second. It's not. I do like the pants.
Speaker 2:They're like sequined it's like an ombre sequin yeah and he's wearing very high boot heels high boots.
Speaker 1:Okay, sarah, sarah palin sarah paulson she also.
Speaker 2:I feel like she wears this everywhere I agree. It's a sarah paulson classic and she looks but I wish, like she took a risk, you know. Yeah, it's okay, okay, I feel like we got the heavy hitters. I want you to also know that every creator influencer ever got the invite is except the fitness Marshall, yeah it's true, like every, all these people and I was, like all of our friends are here and we're not Okay.
Speaker 2:I was looking at all these people and I was like all of our friends are here and we're not Okay. Well then, uh, just to tag onto the wicked conversation.
Speaker 1:Have you heard?
Speaker 2:about the Mattel drama. Yeah, I have. Well, if you, if the listeners don't know, mattel uh made wicked Barbies and on all the packaging they put wickedcom, which sounds innocent, but the website for the movie is wickedmoviecom and the URL wickedmovie goes to an adult corn site.
Speaker 1:That is correct.
Speaker 2:And on the internet we say corn instead of the other word, Correct.
Speaker 1:So that doesn't get flagged. Just to let you know Exactly.
Speaker 2:So that's pretty crazy, and whoever graphic designer or whoever did the packaging design is in trouble.
Speaker 1:They may have lost their job, Although the approval for those things go through many people. So it the ball was dropped.
Speaker 2:It is not a crazy assumption that it would just be wickedcom, but I do feel like.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You should check.
Speaker 1:Period.
Speaker 2:Because Wicked Movie hasn't been around forever, yeah, so it's like I don't know. Someone got in a lot of trouble for that and that's pretty crazy. I will say I went to the site and you do there. I don't know if it was like this before, but now there is a cover page that you can't get into until you type in your age to verify that you're 18. Obviously, people can lie yeah about that, but at least it doesn't bring up a page with just naked people on it for children.
Speaker 1:All corn sites have to do that oh, I wouldn't know oh, right me, right Me either.
Speaker 2:I'm kidding, but I was like okay, at least it's not like, you know, kids just going.
Speaker 1:I also feel like because they've already put them in stores. People are going to buy those up and they're going to be collectors now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because you think they're going to reprint boxes. Okay, yeah, you're going to get the porn box.
Speaker 1:The corn box, the corn box.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, that's the wicked update what a wicked cool update and sorry, we're moving along quicker today, guys we're really not I'm gonna go to birthdays.

Speaker 2:Wait, I don't mean to.
Speaker 1:No, it's hilarious. Oh, I feel bad. Now it's okay, I'm going to be thinking about this for days.
Speaker 2:No, you do, let me do though is you let me sign off with a song, so okay, well, now I'm, I shouldn't have said anything, and then I could have made a compilation. No, because it's funny. Oh, my God.
Speaker 1:She's a comedian folks. Okay, birthdays.
Speaker 2:Okay, birthdays Chloe.
Speaker 1:Savigny, see, every time that was me.
Speaker 2:Do you know who she is?
Speaker 1:Yes, because I well she was in Monsters, but I loved her in Big Love.
Speaker 2:Okay, I didn't see that. The only thing I've seen her in is the act. I recognized her she played the neighbor yes, and I didn't know that, but her big things are american psycho. And boys don't cry, those are her like top and big love okay listen, and monster.
Speaker 1:She was in the. She played the mom in the um menendez brothers oh okay, I haven't.
Speaker 2:I still haven't even finished the that show, so I guess, jeffrey domer no, the monsters. I have been watching that. Maybe that's also why I recognized her, but I just didn't. She's the mom. She is the mom. Yeah, you're right. Okay, when I saw her photo I was like she's very famous or she's very familiar to me. And then I saw the show or what her credits were, and they only listed American psycho and boys don't cry.
Speaker 1:Oh, okay.
Speaker 2:And then I saw the act and I said, okay, this is how I must know her. But you're right, monsters, I haven't finished that, by the way, okay.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Influencer creator Zane Hijazi. He's from the vlog squad.
Speaker 1:Oh, good for her. Zane is 32. I know you don't know him, but the vlog squad you know people know them. No, I do know him because you've shown me the vlog squad.

I don't know Older than I thought, for some reason I thought that I just I think if people who made music when we were younger, to me they were young, but clearly he was a lot older than us when we were young, listening to his music, Okay, and he's 47. Okay.
Speaker 1:Wow, yeah, to his music. Okay, and he's 47 okay, wow yeah, he would have been young yeah, okay.
Speaker 2:Do you know who mike jones is?
Speaker 1:mike john, mike jones jones yeah, he do.
Speaker 2:You know how old he is? Can I guess he's 43, but I um put this note because if you're younger listening to us, you have no idea. This lore and mike jones had a song where he put his phone number in the song oh and um, he also like put it on t-shirts, like he put it everywhere, and then people were really calling him and he is quoted that at the height of his fame he would receive 40,000 calls per day, because it was really his number.
Speaker 1:Wow.
Speaker 2:And I have the number here If you want it. It's 2 8 1, 3, 3 0, 8 0, 0, 4. That's in the song, yeah, and a lot of people still remember it to this day, like from knowing that song.
Speaker 1:So I don't know if it's still can call it or not, but fun I once did that with a country song called taylor swift by artist tyler something, and the song goes I want a girl like taylor swift, and then he puts his number in the end oh, to see if she would call him seven whatever. So you call the number and it's like hey, I'm tyler, thanks for listening to my new single, taylor swift.
Speaker 2:And if this is taylor swift, whatever yeah and I thought that was so funny and clever it is funny and clever and now, with the that thing that all the celebrities were doing in 2020, where it was text me text me. I did that with skylar astin, but I did. I asked him to sing because he was doing a series on his instagram of singing songs of his, and I requested a song from spring awakening and he really did it.
Speaker 1:He really did it.
Speaker 2:He really did it, so there you go. Okay, well, those are the birthdays.
Speaker 1:Happy birthday to you.
Speaker 2:Go ahead, are you done? Yes, okay, good. Well, that's it for today.

Speaker 2:honor of Wicked. No one mourns the Because I knew you, because I knew you.
Speaker 1:Because I.
Speaker 2:Together.
Speaker 1:I can't do that Because I knew you, you I have been changed we cannot leave this in.
Speaker 2:They're gonna be so annoyed. Here's my thing whenever I sing with reagan, I had to take the lower part, so that's the only part I can do, and in my as an alto in the in the theater, of course that's the part I sang in the choir in the theater, she's the alto yeah okay, well, everyone, thanks for listening.
Speaker 1:Have an amazing week ahead a week ahead have a wicked week have a wicked. Oh, we will have seen wicked by the time the next, this comes out right new the 22nd after.
