welcome back to the alist podcast with allison and alex. I'm currently looking up to see who they cast as dorothy Wicked, part 2.
Speaker 1:What's Dorothy's last name?
Speaker 2:What is her last?
Speaker 1:name.
Speaker 2:Dorothy Right Like a wind.
Speaker 1:Like regale me.
Speaker 2:Isn't gale like a wind, something that's due with wind?
Speaker 1:I don't know.
Speaker 2:I feel like it's something to do with, you know, wind, yeah, it doesn't know. I feel like it's something to do with um, you know wind, yeah.
Speaker 1:It doesn't say who is playing Dorothy in wicked part two?
Speaker 2:They have. It's not on here, so it's a.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, there's just conspiracies. Right now, fans think they figured out who's playing Dorothy, and we could too.
Speaker 2:Is it? Do we think it's someone, known or unknown?
Speaker 1:A rising young actress Alicia Weir is who they're speculating.
Speaker 2:Do I know who that is?
Speaker 1:She was spotted at multiple Wicked red carpets A-L-I-S-H-A-W-E-I-R.
Speaker 2:She looks like the tiniest person I've ever seen. Like young she's in uh, born in 2009. How old does that make her 12, 12 or 13. That means she would have been like she's the lead in Matilda and she was in Abigail, so she seems like she's she was great in Matilda.
Speaker 1:I know what we're talking about.
Speaker 2:Actually I've never seen it and I was telling daphne that she should watch it because I think she would like it, but that was with me never seeing it.
Speaker 1:I just assume it's good.
Speaker 2:We are revolting children yeah, I learned that dance I believe you well, just that little part of it welcome back we already did that no, to you, I'm just saying welcome back I know we haven't talked a lot. At least we exchanged a happy thanksgiving we did so I don't know what you did all week and you don't know what I did all week I sure don't I listeners.
Speaker 1:We saw wicked, it was great we did um, yeah, no notes. Well, I do have notes, but they're not anything worth talking about because they're just on On the movie. Yeah, I just wish they would have given Chen, chen and Fanny more of an introduction.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you said their names and I was like I never heard anyone say their names, Wow, so that's a good thing that you picked up. What I will say I enjoyed like 99% of it. What did I say was something that you weren't like blown away by michelle oh, yeah, and also jeff goldblum was jeff goldblum he was just himself, which I am not mad at because I like him.
Speaker 2:I think he's funny, I think the way he speaks is funny he also just like that is like he he is one of those actors, you cast to be that right you know, yeah, like he could have been in jurassic park or he could have been the wizard, exactly, and I'm not mad, but michelle yo is so such a good actress, but I don't know about her singing. Yeah, and I heard people I don't know who it was now, but I think I saw a tiktok of someone talking about it and they were like michelle yo was the only good part.
Speaker 2:They thought no, it was angela it was angela I think angela and sass um, if you're listening, I love you so much um, I saw they like went and saw the movie and then they put up a story and they said that they really loved michelle yo and not anyone else, or I don't think they enjoyed Ariana. I'll have to, you know, we'll have to talk about it.
Speaker 2:I'm going to have to have words with her, but I just don't think she's a singer. She's not, and everyone else was so strong that she stuck out. It was like what's his name in Les Mis, the really famous guy that plays?
Speaker 1:I have not les mis you never saw les mis.
Speaker 2:No, that's pretty crazy.
Speaker 1:I fell asleep during the production, a live production of it it is very long the movie, though I thought you would I think I watched anne hathaway's scene yeah, russell crowe, he cannot sing got it and he was not good. I was going to say I thought it was Hugh Jackman, but it's not.
Speaker 2:Hugh is the lead. Russell Crowe is the other main inspector Javert.
Speaker 1:Ah, he's the protagonist.
Speaker 2:Yeah, hugh Jackman is Jean Valjean.
Speaker 1:Ooh, what a sexy name.
Speaker 2:Yeah, everyone else is great Anne Hathaway, amanda Seyfried, samantha. Yeah, everyone else is great Anne Hathaway, amanda Seyfried, samantha Barks is who played Eponine on Broadway and she was Eponine in the movie. She's fantastic.
Speaker 1:Lucky her.
Speaker 2:Helena Bonham Carter Like great cast. Oh, russell Crowe just really stuck out and, in my opinion, same vibes with Michelle Yeoh Got it, but like as an actress, amazing.
Speaker 1:And she's you know, and she's you know and she's gorgeous deserved everything she's every award she's won all the accolades but she wasn't like my favorite in this but anyway, wicked was great and I'm sure all of you've watched it at this point, and if you haven't, I kind of want to go again yeah, I'm gonna go again, because it wasn't my favorite theater experience. No, it really wasn't and I do apologize, but it's the only it is not on you, there's literally you should not take you have. No, we wanted to see it the night it came out and that was what was available yeah, it just like we were actually in the worst theater.
Speaker 1:I think that's in los angeles, and I was talking to karina and that crew about it and apparently, like in their high school days, that was the theater, like that arc, when it was arc light yeah it was like if you were, you were going to that theater and I was like what?
Speaker 2:do they have any?
Speaker 1:So our theater did not have reclining seats and I feel like in this day and age that's not only did it not have reclining seats, but did you notice how some of the chairs headrests were just gone? And when we were walking out of the theater, one?
Speaker 2:of them in that, like front row was just broken and hanging on the side.
Speaker 1:I did not notice that I think it would be fun to see wicked and dolby dolby atmos. I think yeah, because that would be epic. Yeah, we need to go to amc.
Speaker 2:We need to have coke products, because not?
Speaker 1:only does regal.
Speaker 2:Did that theater not have reclining seeds?
Speaker 1:they also have pepsi products, and that is it is not the vibe and it's like I got a medium drink. You as you. You two did it too. I barely drank any of it, cause I just hate the taste of Pepsi, they also um butter your popcorn for you. I would actually didn't mind that. And that butter that night for some reason tastes better than the this regal right here.
Speaker 2:I mean it was good, but Josh has, like a particular has, a system for his popcorn buttering process Got it Okay. And um he didn't get to do that, so that was another like take in the in the wrong direction. Well but I will say the popcorn was good.
Speaker 1:It was pretty good.
Speaker 2:So I give yeah, I give it a. I'm excited for the next one.
Speaker 1:I'm. I am glad that they didn't like Josh's take was like he was still confused by the story cause he doesn't know it. I don't. I get it because for someone that doesn't know, wicked. But I was annoyed at first that it was split up into two parts. But now after seeing was like oh no, that was. I'm glad they did, because I feel like we got to marinate it a little bit, but it could be more yeah, I still think that it should have been one, but I'm excited to see the second part I think it's because they're trying to win more people over like josh, people that aren't musical theater.
Speaker 1:I don't think he want like is gonna see it right but I am seeing, am seeing a lot of straight TikTok where people are like their boyfriends are like wow, that was really epic.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:But I think if they tried to condense Wicked into two acts in one movie, I think it would be a little like what the hell? That was crazy.
Speaker 2:His takeaway was, or one of his comments was, he didn't understand why they didn't want the animals to talk or, to you know, have free will and all those things, and I honestly had a hard time trying to explain that and when I talked to you about it you said that in the book it explains more of that.
Speaker 1:Have you read or no? You should listen to them on audio book. They're really good.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, um something about a circus and, yeah, there's a traveling.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and the wizard is the wizard has such a huge part in the books in his pre-life and the animals try to revolt from the circus.
Speaker 2:Is that what it is?
Speaker 1:No, there's conflict between the wizard, and he butts heads with the animals, so it's just like a personal vendetta. It starts out as that.
Speaker 2:Right, okay, yeah, I think that's unclear in wicked, the stage and the movie. So that's something that I think, like if I think I had just accepted it, I was just like that's what it is, and when I actually like thought about it critically, I was like you know, I don't actually know, I I think they just Such as real life.
Speaker 1:Why are we trying to take women's rights away? Can we For sure? What's the reason?
Speaker 2:I don't want to speak on this because I actually don't know, but I want to say that all of my whole TikTok right now is Korea, south Korea's martial law, and I need to know more about it, but everyone seems to be not happy and scared.
Speaker 2:And so it seems that I thought we were alone in our, you know, struggles of democracy but it seems that we are not, so somehow I find solace in that, even though I feel bad for whatever's happening over there. Of course, I do need to like learn some more about it before I have opinions, but I also need to learn more about it in other pop culture news. There's another fucking john benet ramsey documentary I just saw someone talk about it before I opened up netflix and I was like again. We don't need it, guys. We know what's happened.
Speaker 1:Let her rest in peace. Or it's Katy Perry, or it's Katy Perry, but like what's happening right now, and I guess the reason this one's so crazy and different is because this handwriting analysis person has proven that it was the mother that wrote the ransom note, because the brother did it.
Speaker 2:Don't we know that? Oh, we just like it's.
Speaker 1:They're saying now there's, that was what we thought that the brother did it and the mom parents covered it up yeah, and the mom wrote the note to cover it up.
Speaker 2:Anyway, I'm just like guys. Let her rest in peace.
Speaker 1:Yeah both the parents are dead, like oh, I didn't know that she died of cancer, like years ago, and then he died shortly after and the brother's in jail, so like yeah can we just let it?
Speaker 2:rest there's it's. It is still a such a high profile case that I think that people just know if they talk about it it's gonna I'd rather be seen.
Speaker 1:Can we, can someone dive deep into carol baskin? Can we get that continuation? Fine?
Speaker 2:sure find out what went down there the chokehold that that had on us in 2020. But honestly yeah, what happened? Did she feed her husband to lions tigers? What were they? Tigers?
Speaker 1:But surely there's someone out there knows something other than Carol Baskin. Find them, investigative journalists Find them.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so wait. Her story, if I remember correctly, is that he flew a plane down to like another costa rica or something I thought they found the plane like the like.
Speaker 1:It was just like parked somewhere no hold on.
Speaker 2:I thought they just like found the plane.
Speaker 1:They never found the plane. I thought they found his van or something at the airport disappearance of don lewis.
Speaker 2:Welcome back to our crime podcast. Uh, jack donald lewis was an american missing person who disappeared in the morning of august 18th 1997 after leaving his home in tampa. The investigation into his disappearance has stretched from lewis's wildlife on easy street sanctuary in tampa, co-owned by his second wife, carol baskin carol baskin to land owned by lewis in costa rica. No evidence has surfaced that lewis was the victim of a crime, but friends, family and investigators believe it's unlikely that he disappeared by choice because he had been executing business plans that were left unfinished. Lewis left over five million dollars in assets. He was declared legally dead in 2002, on the fifth anniversary of his disappearance. Hold on, let me search. He disappeared after leaving his home making an early morning delivery around 6 am. His white 1989 Dodge Ram van was found at the Pilot County Airport in Spring Hill, florida, 40 miles from the sanctuary at the time of disappearance so my everything I said yes, wait, even though his private plane license was suspended, was there a plane that was taken?
Speaker 1:I don't know it would I feel like they would say a plane was missing, like a plane was taken from the plane was not found but that article that I saw didn't even say there was a plane that he took that was not found I feel like, if I remember correctly, they there was a log somewhere that said he was going to costa rica, but there was no record of it landing in costa rica. That's what's missing.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay.
Speaker 1:Point is can we send these investigative journalists that are spending all this time on John Bonet? To Carol Baskin who's still living and we might be able to get a deathbed confession out of her or something I don't know, or I don't know. Do another, do a tiger King to Joe, what's his name? Is engaged again. How does he keep getting?
Speaker 2:engaged. How does he keep getting engaged and I can't even have a boyfriend? Um wait, what was I going to say about Carol, good old Carol she and she.
Speaker 1:She was on dancing with the stars, right? Yeah, she was.
Speaker 2:I. I don't know what I was going to say, but bless her.
Speaker 1:Is that what you're going to say?
Speaker 2:I guess I wish her well if she did nothing, but if she did, justice should be served.
Speaker 1:Um, so I only I have two more pieces of pop culture news, and then if you want to take over, I have a piece. Okay, okay, okay. So I asked you a while ago if you've seen white Lotus and you said no, correct. I had a reason for asking you that. Have you seen trailers for the new season?
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:Okay, I'm so stoked because I love White Lotus and they live on their own, like you don't need to see each season. Oh, okay, the second one was not my favorite. I liked Aubrey Plaza a lot in that.
Speaker 2:There's already a third.
Speaker 1:Jennifer Coolidge was amazing. Seating scene in the first season is iconic. Okay, but season three has a new cast. Member.
Speaker 2:And I'm going to be excited.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Shall, I guess.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, do you want to guess? Who would you be stoked about? You're going to get three guesses and then we're moving on. Okay, and I will give you a category Music.
Speaker 2:Jojo Siwa.
Speaker 1:No. Imagine on White Lose.
Speaker 2:Hey everybody. No, it's not happening, I don't know. Music.
Speaker 1:That counts as one. Chris Brown, that man is not getting cast in a Mike White show.
Speaker 2:Okay, who would I be excited about in music? John Cook.
Speaker 1:Okay, so you're in the right vein, but no.
Speaker 2:RM.
Speaker 1:Lisa.
Speaker 2:Lisa, oh, you know what I actually, now that you say that I have heard that I don't think I saw.
Speaker 1:Okay, so she is. She like is such a good actress In the one like clip she's in in the trailer, I was like she's gonna steal the show.
Speaker 2:Wow, that's exciting so.
Speaker 1:I'm stoked to watch that season because, like we, love Lisa. And Lisa. What a star, what a stunning star Speaking of.
Speaker 2:I just taught um at our friend Emily's. Yes, I was going to ask what song you did.
Speaker 1:I did APT the Rosé. Oh, how'd that. Did you teach the dance that Rosé taught you?
Speaker 2:No, because that dance was boring.
Speaker 1:Sorry about it. I haven't been paid yet, but it's been processed, so I can say that I didn't like the dance that she had me do, but yeah, I just did a cute original piece from yeah like jazz funk jazz like show choir-y honestly kind of show choir-y. Did you have less anxiety this time around than you did with the Florence song?
Speaker 2:Yes, because this was, you know, I hadn't taught contemporary in a long time.
Speaker 1:Oh right, florence time.
Speaker 2:oh right, and so it was a little bit more technical. Yeah, I still, because I don't do choreography or teach as much now I still have a little bit of like feeling awkward, I don't know like imposter syndrome maybe like when I started, I just was like hey, yeah, somehow you got to tap into like it's tech week of a theater show.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because I used to be so like badass and cutthroat and for some reason now I'm like so nervous to to teach, yeah you're just not doing it because I don't do it. I on before this year. I hadn't taught anything since probably 2019 because 2020 was nothing, and then I moved out here, so it's been a minute it has but it was fun, it was cute, we had a good time. Emily and I I'll show you the video.
Speaker 1:I mean yes, I would like to see it uh recorded ourselves doing it. Emily did it fun yeah um, also for those of you at home that don't know no, you do know. We already talked about it. So cut this out Stanley's haircut. I forgot we did it before and after picture. He's still cold and the worst, but I love him. Um, the last thing I want to talk about is have you seen the pictures of Lindsay Lohan for flaunt magazine?
Speaker 2:No, but I also wanted to talk about Lindsay Lohan hand. So that's so funny. I have been on a launch. Should I look?
Speaker 1:look, look at the foot. I put it on um because I'm big on uh guys, follow me on on threads threads. I love threads you be posting anyway. I was like is everyone aware of this? I can't believe how iconic these photos are. I'm obsessed and I want them printed, like the one of her with the butterfly on her face.
Speaker 2:Oh, that's incredible. Her lips look good and then I just like couldn't get enough of her with the butterfly on her face.
Speaker 1:Oh, that's cool her lips look good, and then I just like, couldn't get enough of her. I've watched everything she's in oh, she looks like okay.
Speaker 2:So this is we. Josh and I watched her new christmas movie I loved it.
Speaker 1:I don't hear anything about it no, no, we both thought it was really good everyone was talking shit and I watched it was like hold on, this is actually kind of cute.
Speaker 2:Wait, I thought it was yeah we both thought it was really good. Everyone was talking shit and I watched it. I was like hold on, this is actually kind of cute. Wait, I thought it was. Yeah, we both thought it was good, and I like her one last, from last year too.
Speaker 1:I did too. Yeah, Irish wish.
Speaker 2:But he kept saying she looks like someone else. He kept saying Sigourney Weaver, and then halfway through he was like wait, I'm not talking about In Crazy Stupid Love.
Speaker 1:Oh, Leslie.
Speaker 2:Man no Leslie.
Speaker 1:Mann yeah. Hmm, hmm oh, she's not the mom in crazy, stupid julianne moore.
Speaker 2:Julianne moore and honestly in this photo with the gloves and the nude, yep I can see it she looks a lot like julianne moore, so that's just something to note. But yeah, she looks great incredible.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and it's with the monarch butterflies.
Speaker 2:I'm, I'm here for it, guys yeah, you should print it, that's fun. Oh, her yellow hair.
Speaker 1:I just love that she has made such like a positive comeback, not in a way of like britney's comeback, it's like because we love britney so much. But britney was done dirty and there isn't someone, that she just doesn't have the people. Whatever, we're not going to go on the britney's.
Speaker 2:I can't go down the britney's I need whoever helped lindsey transition back into normalcy to call am Bynes, because I feel so sad.
Speaker 1:I think she has the same problem Brittany does, though I think she was on lithium for too long.
Speaker 2:Lindsay was just like drinking a lot on drugs, yeah, and I think that she had like an actual mental breakdown and a rough family experience. And Lindsay or Amanda.
Speaker 1:Lindsay, but I am, I was still. I liked the movie. I thought it was so cute.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I loved it.
Speaker 1:Our little secret, or whatever. Plus, kristen Chenoweth was hilarious in it.
Speaker 2:She's in every Christmas movie Cause I just I made also made him watch holiday, which I watched that all the time, even like not during the holidays, and she's in that and so cute, and she's in that and so cute, but I feel like kristin's calling now is just yeah, christmas movies I also re-watched.
Speaker 1:I hadn't seen it for a few years, or maybe since the year it came out, but that one with kristin's, the gay one, that from hulu oh, that's a good movie.
Speaker 2:I've only seen it once, but that's good. You don't like it, no I love I.
Speaker 1:I was like, oh yeah, I want to watch this. I liked it until the scene when they have the fight and it was just too real oh, it was like this is almost verbatim the conversation that I had this is very sad I was pleasantly surprised when I yeah, that one was good, plus also actually alice and brie.
Speaker 2:We love her oh yeah, well, later I wanted to talk about holiday movies. I know this is not our christmas week episode, but because we watch holiday movies all month yes, I made my list right.
Speaker 1:You asked me to make a list.
Speaker 2:I forgot, I did that.
Speaker 1:You said, make a list of your favorite Christmas movies and Christmas songs.
Speaker 2:I love that. I forgot. I told you to do that.
Speaker 1:Did you not do it?
Speaker 2:It's in my head.
Speaker 1:It's in the shared note that we both have access to. Oh the shared note.
Speaker 2:I forgot about that Thanksgiving week. I got so messed up last week.
Speaker 1:I have a feeling our movies are probably very similar anyway.
Speaker 2:For sure.
Speaker 1:But anyway. So those were the pieces of pop culture news I needed to talk to you about before we got into anything else.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, something I just need to note. I know you don't care for one second Okay.
Speaker 1:So should I tune out? No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
Speaker 2:Vanderpump rules at Bravo announced that um, there will be a whole new cast. They are. They fired everyone.
Speaker 1:I actually did hear that news. It's going to be different Wait staff. You know why.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:I guarantee you it's to save money.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, so that is something. In hearing other people talk about it, they were like I, this is something that happens, especially when they redid like Real Housewives of New York. It was like the budget got too big because everyone wanted a million dollars per episode or, you know, per season, and they just can't do that. They have the valley now that some people have moved over to. I think Lala is going to be in it.
Speaker 1:And aren't some of them in the hotel one or the villa?
Speaker 2:Um, yes, I think that. Oh, so Stassi is going to be on the next, but she hasn't been on reality TV and forever, but maybe some more people would. But, yeah, I think Lala may, probably Sheena, because she can't stay away. Ariana I also heard that Ariana was trying to negotiate not having any scenes with Tom and I'm sorry real quick.
Speaker 1:Is Ariana the one that attempted to sing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Speaker 2:Yeah, that was.
Speaker 1:Anyway.
Speaker 2:I also have the Macy's Parade on here to talk about, so we can circle back to that. I cannot believe it. So, yeah, they fired everyone and a whole new cast at Sur Wow. The only person returning is Lisa.
Speaker 1:That makes sense.
Speaker 2:But here's the thing they tried to add new people, probably the a few seasons ago, maybe like pre-pandemic, like right before the pandemic okay and they had introduced like five new people and it flopped like no one cared about these people okay that's rough maybe that's because there there was it was half old cast and then half new people, but the next season all those people were gone and they went back to the original cast. So I don't know it's going to be. I'll still watch, but it's so hard to get reinvested in new people.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I totally get that 100%. It's like when you start Even Survivor, for instance.
Speaker 2:It takes me a couple episodes I love to watch it yeah but I'm always like I know, I feel like I start survivor seasons and then I never finish them, because I unless there's like a yeah, unless, like Boston, rob is on like, what am I supposed to do?
Speaker 1:isn't he's on traitors? Yeah, traitors, and that is does that come soon, january, I know.
Speaker 2:I'm so excited. Bob, Bob the drag queen.
Speaker 1:The cast is incredible.
Speaker 2:Um.
Speaker 1:Rob Brittany.
Speaker 2:Haynes who's?
Speaker 1:Oh Sam yeah. Brittany Haynes from big brother there's there's a couple of big brother people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's another one I was excited about.
Speaker 1:There's three survivor people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, who else? I feel like we've talked about this, have we not? It's okay, we're excited about it. So segwaying to the Macy's Parade did you watch? I didn't. Get the whole. Thing.
Speaker 1:I didn't watch any of it, I just saw clips and when I saw Ariana's I was like, first of all, this whole show is always lip sync and it's this bad and she's lip syncing.
Speaker 2:Well, yeah. So I thought she was gonna do something from chicago, because she's been in the show chicago this whole time, so I thought it would be a chicago thing. They, it was peacock and she did. It was for love island that she was there and she's saying what gwen stefani, yeah how is she on broadway? I don't know, although I will say, the things I've heard from chicago haven't peaked my antennas of being bad, but I'm also I don't have a great ear.
Speaker 1:She's playing roxy heart. Yes, I guess it's not as big as the others, but other part, but it's still a big part.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's more playful I haven't heard anyone that has seen the show come away being like oh she really can't sing, so she must not be doing that poorly I should see if megan has seen her in it, because megan saw chicago recently I don't know if she's still in it right now, but yeah, I would be interested.
Speaker 2:So that wasn't good. Um, did you see dasha? Oh, you didn't. Did you see clips of her? So, because it was raining the whole time. She has naturally curly hair and she had extensions, so her hair like curled up from the water and then it was like half curly, half straight from her extensions.
Speaker 1:Who's Dasha?
Speaker 2:She has that, uh, that viral TikTok song that we did the line dance to.
Speaker 1:Oh, every time you say this person's name, we have the same conversation, and then I remember it yeah. She also.
Speaker 2:Yeah, right, okay, yes, yes, but she also was wearing like the skimpiest outfit.
Speaker 1:That's what she's known for, like the skimpiest outfit, and she is like the Daisy Dukes. Yeah, yeah, that's what she's known for.
Speaker 2:Oh, I didn't know that, but I saw people complaining.
Speaker 1:That was like that's literally what made her get go famous A million degrees cold. Negative a million.
Speaker 2:Negative a million, and it's like a children's thing. So people were like what is she doing? Shaking her booty for the dads, I guess so I felt sorry for her about the hair situation because, that does suck. Who else I saw? Oh t-pain my king I was excited about t-pain. He I saw his tiktok and he was recording like walking and his commentary is really funny.
Speaker 2:I highly recommend going and checking that out because, I laughed the whole like however long five minute clip was really funny. Who else was I excited about? Oh, Charlie D'Amelio like opened the whole thing.
Speaker 1:Oh, with um and Juliet cast.
Speaker 2:No, it was just her. I also thought it was and Juliet, and then it was just her dancing in this, like she had like some dancers around her that were dressed as reindeer, I think, or they had leaves, I don't know. It was weird, but it didn't look like it was good, like it didn't look like the dance was being well executed, so I was confused by that.
Speaker 1:I saw Bishop Briggs clip because I got to support my girl.
Speaker 2:I know, when she was on I was like Alex went to school with her, my girl, I know when she was on, I was like alex went to school with her, yeah uh, what did she sing? Something from wednesday I think she's the theme. Oh it was. Oh, I liked the choreography. The dancers was. That was cool. It was very dark for that's her christmas yeah, but that's and she was. I didn't realize what is her big song? Shut my mouth and rub me like a river. Okay, makes sense.
Speaker 1:And wild horses run faster.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, that makes more sense, I had forgotten. I do love that song, but she was giving she was giving.
Speaker 1:creepy River is a contemporary gal's dream song.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah, love it, but I was confused. So I know that it was a Wednesday flow and like what are they going to do? But weird, yeah, did we need a Wednesday float?
Speaker 1:Probably not, but she's also just came off of winning the Masked Singer, so they were probably giving her some.
Speaker 2:Oh wait, why is an actual singer on the Masked Singer?
Speaker 1:Actual singers are always on. Jojo won two years ago.
Speaker 2:Well, the finalists in this last season were david archuleta and bishop riggs. That's always. I thought it was like famous people who aren't known for singing because, like jojo.
Speaker 1:No, it's always both, but a real singer always ends up winning I mean yeah, because they're actually good right wasn't.
Speaker 2:Does demi lovato on ever?
Speaker 1:yes, demi lovato was on, yeah that's kind of like and these people that have such distinguishable voices too, like imagine if christina tried to be on the show, the judges have to be like oh, I don't know, yeah, well, that's.
Speaker 2:I don't know why I'm hating, because I loved heather morris on dancing with the stars. I know I've talked about this before and I thought she deserved for her I want justice. But everyone was mad about that. They were like why is she on the show like she's a you know professional dancer? She's making everyone look bad and I was like, yeah, she looks great I will never.
Speaker 1:I will never understand the point of the masked singer. It kind of drives me insane. I know it's not originally from the united states. Yeah, I think it's korean right, or maybe I'm sorry, the costumes are incredibly, uh, elaborate and cool, fine yeah but what is the? I don't understand the fascination behind like wow, that cat with headphones sounds so good. I wonder who it is I don't mind it.
Speaker 2:I think it's cute okay well, it's not I don't watch it, the ones I have watched before, but I don't actively I've said it once, I'll say it again, and this is the mask dancer, I think is a flop.
Speaker 1:I don't think that's going on.
Speaker 2:Yeah, did it only do like one, I think, just in flop. I don't think that's going on.
Speaker 1:Yeah, did only do like one, I think, just one season that's not good, because no one cares. I, as a dancer, don't even care reality competition, music and dancing shows are not for people that live in california. That is what I believe. Oh, okay like when I'm back at home I like no, but I also love it. It's like something about being disconnected from the entertainment world yeah that's like, yeah, this is fascinating.
Speaker 1:Then, when you're in la, I'm like no, they're literally dressed up as cats in this studio that I'm having coffee right next to my gym, all those people dressed as cats. I'm running by, yeah, yeah, well, like I forgot to say when I was on the warner brothers lots the other day walking around with my friend katie. Okay, flex there were all these people walking around in having their lunch break, but they were all in uh like hospital gowns with like insane injuries, like prosthetics what was it?
Speaker 1:it was, for it was the cast of the show the pit, which is about to have its second season. The pit is like I guess it takes place in pittsburgh maybe, but it's also like in the er, it's like where all the crazy shit goes down. It's like emergencies. So it was very graphic, but it was just like. This is literally just like these people are like, yeah, so anyway, I clocked in at eight and it's, and it's just like so wild when you have these reminders that you live in this place, where it's all just fake.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I can't believe I never finished. Well, I guess it's still on. Grey's Anatomy is still on for some reason, but I never finished watching Meredith until she left.
Speaker 1:Oh, okay.
Speaker 2:And I just can't bring myself to do it.
Speaker 1:What's weird is the show is supposed to end with her because, years ago, shonda was quoted saying that she will end gray's anatomy when um ellen, pump ellen pompeo wants to stop why didn't she? I don't know, maybe because it makes too much money there's someone new that is on it that by the way, did you hear my rip shout out to macy on my instagram the other day?
Speaker 2:I did. That was very sweet because macy will always.
Speaker 1:I'll never forget her for many reasons, but the biggest one being that she changed the way my dog eats I did.
Speaker 2:I heard that story and then I was thinking I'm sorry about that no, I'm not sorry, it's, I'm, it's fine, he's on a schedule.
Speaker 1:but it is so funny that it totally completely changed the way he values food. He he used to be like I don't care, and now it's like he had to. Are we talking about you?
Speaker 2:Hmm.
Speaker 1:You're looking cuter.
Speaker 2:All right, I can't.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, anyway.
Speaker 2:But there is someone new on it. That is the main character that I think is popular, so I guess maybe it's still going strong.
Speaker 1:But good for them.
Speaker 2:I was obsessed and now I do not care. Yeah, do you think AI is going to kill us by 2029?
Speaker 1:Is that the? Is that the projected date?
Speaker 2:So I watched. Shane Dawson did a video on it.
Speaker 1:You told me about this. I need to watch it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I love the conspiracies on it. You told me about this. I need to watch it. Yeah, I love the conspiracies. Um, it was terrifying, like I actually was watching it and had immense anxiety can you give me like a two minute breakdown?
Speaker 1:not really, because I'm not great, but uh no, I was about to ask you. I was about to say can you go to chat gpt and ask it to summarize the video? Ask AI to summarize. A video about AI is hilarious.
Speaker 2:Okay, I think I should look up the title of the video, because I feel like he's done a couple Do you know, chat GPT has changed my life.
Speaker 1:So if it's going to, be the thing that ends us fine, because it's made my life immensely easier. Do you know that you can just go like drag a bunch of documents into chat GBT and say can you put these all into a concise PDF for me?
Speaker 2:No, I didn't know you could do that, and it does Wow.
Speaker 1:In fact, it gave me two fun games for us to play. That is actually. That are actually good.
Speaker 2:Okay, can you summarize the video titled?
Speaker 1:You can literally copy the link to the video oh yeah, I should do that just say can you summarize this video for me in one paragraph?
Speaker 2:summarize this video for me in one paragraph crazy.
Speaker 1:Crazy.
Speaker 2:Okay, she's thinking. Oh, I'm sorry, but I cannot locate the specific information on the provided URL.
Speaker 1:Just kidding. It can't Okay. See, we're fine.
Speaker 2:Can you summarize the video titled the YouTube video Conspiracy Investigation?
Speaker 1:Conspiracy Investigation. I wish that was the intro, wouldn't that be cute.
Speaker 2:By Shane Dawson. Oh, oh okay.
Speaker 1:Oh it's doing it.
Speaker 2:Shane dawson delves into various. No, it's giving you a, it's just like he is. Okay, whatever, but it was like stages of ai taking over okay and it was like a really fast timeline because we have key stages narrow AI stage one we're past that, context aware. Ai stage two all AI systems that can understand and retain context from previous interactions, like virtual assistants, and remember past conversations and personalized requests.
Speaker 1:We're past that or we're past that.
Speaker 2:Well, sure.
Speaker 1:Because ChatGPT knows me Like when. I tell it to write when I say can you write me a cover letter in my language for this? It knows all my work history, everything I've been talking to about it for the last nine months.
Speaker 2:That's insane. Yeah, scary Cool, but scary.
Speaker 1:I'm very grateful to it.
Speaker 2:Stage three domain specific expertise Advanced AI capable of achieving mastery in specific domains, like medical diagnosis, where it can process vast amounts of data to make complex decisions, potentially exceeding human capabilities in that area.
Speaker 1:Amazing.
Speaker 2:Stage four, artificial general intelligence, a theoretical stage where ai possesses general intelligence, allowing it to perform complex tasks across various domains, including reasoning, learning and problem solving, similar to human intelligence. I feel like we are maybe entering stage three, or at stage three.
Speaker 1:I don't think we're at the medical part yet, though you don't think no, not yet. I think they're. They're holding us back from that, but I think that will be something that's going to like change the landscape of medical yeah, I mean if it makes it cheaper, honestly, like if I can talk to ai and be like I.
Speaker 2:These are my symptoms.
Speaker 1:I have a runny nose, I have a cough like bearing in mind, though it's first it's got to build a case on you, so it would be like a system where an ai gets your entire medical record, has all of your stats, and then you put things like that in and then it goes based on your medical history and your current stats.
Speaker 2:Most likely, this is what do you think that's good for a hypochondriac or bad?
Speaker 1:I think you could. I think it would just become the new you, you know, the new WebMD. It would just be like that, like how us hypochondriacs so I'm still going to think I have cancer Always. Great, Because also it's going to have to say that the caveat on everything is or you could die.
Speaker 2:Right. Stage five is artificial super intelligence AI, surpassing human intelligence in most aspects, potentially capable of solving problems beyond human comprehension and creating unforeseen consequences due to its superior cognitive abilities.
Speaker 1:That part, I feel like we were already passed, because the human race are we are you kidding? Me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm like when will what's it called?
Speaker 1:Christ return.
Speaker 2:Artificial super intelligence. Estimates for when artificial super intelligence will occur vary, but many experts believe it will happen within the next few decades 2027,. Scientists predict ASI could arrive by 2027. Okay, so I was two years later than that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you were giving it a little more time. So before we're 40, we could be taken out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Because something about AI. Once they learn everything they can, then they can start manipulating.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think about it in ways of like I know people are like they're coming for our jobs, but no, really, when you think about things like video editing, for instance, in the video editing world right now just look how photo editing has gotten so much easier. Anyone can be a Photoshop artist now because of AI and built into Photoshop. But when it comes to video editing, it's going to become a point where you load a project into whatever editing software, whether it's DaVinci, final Cut, adobe Premiere, whatever. Here's all the raw footage, here's the audio Sync, everything.
Speaker 1:Give me an edit in the style of Wes Craven's I'm talking horror movies for instance of a Wes Craven 1990s horror film, and then it will just spit out an edit.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And then, then what?
Speaker 2:Yeah. So then do we all just like, money doesn't matter this is literally what I was thinking.
Speaker 1:I was literally. I've had the thought very frequently like is it going to come a point where money goes the opposite direction, where it becomes, like less valuable because ai is going to become so advanced that we don't need yeah, if we don't have jobs, then we can't buy anything.
Speaker 2:So, we all essentially like, become like homeless. I don't. I don't know, because if it happens all at once, then we're all in the same situation and then it becomes dystopian because money doesn't have a value. So then we are having to go back to bartering and making things, and I am not cut out for that. What am I going to do?
Speaker 1:What do?
Speaker 2:I have to offer.
Speaker 1:Exercise dance that stuff.
Speaker 2:I can teach them a dance.
Speaker 1:Sure, but they can't touch you. You'll have to become an exotic dancer, is what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:And the seedy underground, I have to become a stripper.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's it for sure yeah, yeah well I mean their AI is already taking the music industry. Like I just listened to someone do put like some song through a filter with an Ariana Grande voice and it was like, wow, this is incredible oh, like a song that was already made. Yeah, yeah and they were. It was a, and they made had ai do and do it as if it were ariana grande yeah I'm here for it. I'm down for the ride.
Speaker 2:Let's see what happens I'm scared, I don't like I would like I don't, because my vision that I have is things like iRobot and the Terminator or whatever, like they end up killing all of humanity.
Speaker 1:I wouldn't want to. I guess I maybe it's the program that I'm in, but I'm kind of just like what's it, what's the word, what's the phrase? She uses a lot radical acceptance that like you, just like if it's gonna happen. Also, I don't want to live in a world where I have to wake up every day and be like quiet and creeping around corners and is something no just take me out, I don't care.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Or upload my consciousness, so then I can be a robot.
Speaker 2:Yeah, then you, like, are a floating being. Is that the matrix? I honestly have never seen the matrix.
Speaker 1:Matrix is like your plug in. Or minority report or Minority Report Is that where they're like floating beings and they have like things, all like, stuck to them. There are three people in Minority Report that are floating beings and they're just psychics.
Speaker 2:What a good movie, by the way. Such a good movie.
Speaker 1:I have it on DVD. I think that I watched a lot of sci-fi growing up and I have the belief that we could live in a world where there are humanoid creatures, like the new megan fox movie that's about to come out and that, like we have organic material inside of our bodies, but like what's the difference between a consciousness that's just mechanical but it has artificial intelligence, like it's still a brain of itself? There just isn isn't squishy bleedy parts.
Speaker 2:Yeah it. It can be rebuilt back together and we cannot.
Speaker 1:This challenges religion, though, and that's why it's very scary in this world, because then you're bringing into account the lack of there actually being a soul, and if energy, if all of the energy that exists, already exists and just recirculates, then that means that artificial intelligence is something that is always been and, as it comes to life, it's just an evolution of what has always been, and that my mind is a little bit broken.
Speaker 1:This reminds me of a conversation I had with Haley like two years ago where she was like oh, it was after watching Sunday Mass.
Speaker 2:Sunday Mass.
Speaker 1:No, midnight Mass, Midnight Mass and it's that same kind of thing.
Speaker 2:I actually never got to that episode.
Speaker 1:The finale.
Speaker 2:Yep, because it's the finale. Never got there.
Speaker 1:You didn't. I think we only got in like three episodes with you. Oh, never got there, you didn't? I think we only got in like three episodes with you. But oh, it's so good anyway, maybe next year. So again, I think the challenge it will take longer than I think 2027? Because religion still rules this country.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and they will, and they have a lot of money. What's worse, ai taking over and enslaving us in that way, or something happening like handmaid's tale.
Speaker 1:I think handmaid's tale yeah I think it's worse, like if humans do things to humans, I get way more affected yeah and, like we're talking about you having to bear children, which is your biggest fear. It's not my biggest fear, but I don't want to be forced to do it exactly, and then I would be hung, yes, well, and you'd have to look at my swinging body in the in the town square we're done okay, dark corner ends. How do we get on ai?
Speaker 2:I just I hit you real fast with.
Speaker 1:Is it gonna? Kill us by 2029 okay, so sorry, maybe we cut that down a little, but that was funny yeah, well, let's segue into the holiday movies. I need to open this note that I'm forgot about well, I didn't put mine in there for you to see oh well, because why would I let you see them?
Speaker 2:yeah, shared a list view note.
Speaker 1:I've never opened it okay, oh, shared A-list.
Speaker 2:View note I haven't even opened it. You've never opened it. Okay, oh, got it.
Speaker 1:Can you see all mine?
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:Okay, good, I thought I copied over to my own list, but do you see the structure of the breakdown?
Speaker 2:Yes, that's good to know. Um, oh, I didn't talk about that. I went home. I went to Indiana for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1:We didn't talk about Thanksgiving because it's. By the time this comes out, Thanksgiving will have been two weeks ago for sure, so we kind of you had a good Thanksgiving I had a great Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2:So did I.
Speaker 1:We can talk offline about our Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1:Because there's nothing for me to report. Susanna cooked all the food and it was the best mashed potatoes I've ever had in my whole life.
Speaker 2:She made a brown butter sauce.
Speaker 1:Do you know what that is?
Speaker 2:I do.
Speaker 1:Didn't, I didn't.
Speaker 2:You never heard of that no.
Speaker 1:Wow, it was so moist I don't mind that word so they didn't get me with that.
Speaker 2:But if you listeners don't like that word, moist oh I gave him a mouth whisper, yeah um, I had all the things good, but I only had one plate. I didn't have any leftovers which is so sad. So my thanksgiving was a little bit weird, because I was a little bit weird weird.
Speaker 2:I went to so thanksgiving day, I went to my sisters and we had our lunch. That was thanksgiving, so we didn't have a dinner. It was lunch, which normally we do, like we go, and in the morning we'll have a few bits that are like breakfasty, just like a few bits, you know, yeah, a cinnamon roll or like, um, a monkey bread oh right, we talked about that.
Speaker 2:That's right, that type of thing but like something small, just to like hold you over, and then my mom will put out like a veggie tray and like a cheese ball, if you will, because duh Midwest cheese balls, and then we have lunch a little bit later. This time it's the same kind of thing, but we had to eat a little bit earlier, lunch wise, and I had my turkey, I had the mashed potatoes, I had some macaroni, you know that type of thing. And then we had to go to the hockey game the Fort.
Speaker 2:Wayne Comets, my sister was doing a fundraising thing, and the kids wanted to go, so me and my mom and the kids, we also went to the game, which honestly was fun. Apparently, it's a big tradition that people do that if you're a hockey fan.
Speaker 1:Go to a hockey game.
Speaker 2:On Thanksgiving. There's apparently to a hockey game on thanksgiving there's apparently always a hockey game on thanksgiving and um. So I only had one plate of food and then, because I wasn't staying there, I didn't take a plate home, so I only had one. I didn't get to have any leftovers. I didn't get to have my hawaiian roll sandwich that you were talking about so sad but it was delicious and the hockey game was actually fun.
Speaker 2:They started fighting within five seconds of the game starting, so there was a beef from like the last time they played. Oh my god, they dropped the puck, and then these dudes ripped off all of their equipment and just started punching each other. That is yeah the refs let them go for like I was recording, because I was recording the start of the game and then I just had my phone up, so I recorded at least 45 seconds straight before the referees broke them up I was like what are they doing?
Speaker 1:They're getting excited for the after party. They're getting each other riled up for the locker rooms.
Speaker 2:Ooh, that's your dream, but um yeah, my, my dinner was a hot dog, which was so not Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1:Was it a turkey dog?
Speaker 2:It was not.
Speaker 1:Oh, it was regular Okay.
Speaker 2:But that was, yeah, a very untraditional.
Speaker 1:Thanksgiving Non-traditional, yeah, I, untraditional Thanksgiving for me Very non-traditional.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I had a good time and I was in your home state or your hometown.
Speaker 1:You were, you were in Fort Wayne.
Speaker 2:Fort Wayne.
Speaker 1:Fort Wayne, right there by the, the Allen County Memorial.
Speaker 2:Coliseum yeah, but it was closed so we couldn't go.
Speaker 1:As it should be. There's been like a shooting there at least once a month.
Speaker 2:Right, right, but there's a pf chang's I don't know. Yum, I live by pf chang, so I'm not that excited. Um, so yeah, that was my thanksgiving day, cute. So let's move on to our top holiday movies. And I also have a list of rotten tomatoes and I can give like the top 10 or whatever that's been voted and and also something I want to say okay disclaimer.
Speaker 1:It's not a disclaimer.
Speaker 2:Oh okay, it really sounded like I just have to say I'm just gonna get it out of the way this sounds like a disclaimer I've never seen a christmas story and josh does not like that. It's his favorite movie and we have had a spat over this and I will watch it this year I've I can't imagine there's in any world where it's better than the santa claus it's not.
Speaker 1:I have seen a christmas story. My grandpa would play it, because it plays 24 7 from christmas eve to christmas day yeah, so that was always the christmas eve tradition. However, I admit, since you've admitted that, that I have never seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Yeah right.
Speaker 2:It's like fine. I think that if you were older when it came out, then you probably liked it more, because it is more adult.
Speaker 1:Okay, well, yeah, I just don't have, and I watched.
Speaker 2:I don't care.
Speaker 1:My sister sent me a video of this girl watching it for the first time and giving her commentary and it's the funniest thing I've ever seen. And now I feel like I don't need to watch it because she really gave me the lowdown and I was like, yeah, I don't think I'd enjoy this movie.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean, there's so many of the National Lampoon's movies that I think, yeah, if you were not a child at the time when they were coming out, they are kind of a staple for you. All the vacations, european vacation, whatever and chevy chase is funny sure he was on snl at the time too, I think right so it's like a whole cultural thing so maybe I'll watch that and you watch a christmas story.
Speaker 2:I'm going to I was like I've seen the tongue scene. Isn't that like the whole thing you need to see? It was it's set in indiana, like how have you not seen that. I was like I don't know. It feels like a boy movie to me yeah, I could see that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but I'm gonna do it and I will.
Speaker 2:I will report back okay how I feel. It's probably good, but I just did it, so obviously my favorite movie is the santa claus that's your number one. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Mine is the Holiday.
Speaker 2:Right, I hadn't seen that until last year and it is great. It's also just my favorite movie, so I don't know.
Speaker 1:I was a little like. Do I put this on the list Because it technically is my year round movie?
Speaker 2:I'd be watching it always.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think that just makes it number one. It just has a different impact on me when I watch it in the holiday season.
Speaker 2:Yeah, like I. Now that I've seen it, I'm like I get the vibes. I want to curl up in a big sweater and have, you know, a cup of cocoa.
Speaker 1:Best friends with Kate Winslet.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's so cozy.
Speaker 1:It's so cute.
Speaker 2:So Nancy Myers and I love it, yeah, um one of my friends, I think, actually went to that house.
Speaker 1:Well, okay, okay so they made a replica in atlanta and you can go, stay there cute I just found this out after I posted how much it was I bet it's so hard to get in for sure it is, but my friend, I think, went to the one in actual the uk, in actual in the actual uk. I don't know if it's an airbnb or if you just like can stand outside, but well, because the exterior is a different shot than the interior.
Speaker 2:Oh, for sure.
Speaker 1:But it's so cute, cause.
Speaker 2:I would like to go and just get any Airbnb in that area, because it has to be the same vibes.
Speaker 1:Of course that little town. Yeah, oh, my God, I'm down.
Speaker 2:That's honestly like bucket list for sure. Thing. What's your next one? Uh, the white christmas. You've never seen white christmas.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, wow, sorry, you just gave me I was like well, I read my second one and I was like what is that movie? And I will explain in a second. Um, yeah, white christmas classic classic.
Speaker 2:It has iconic dance scenes. I think the dance scene for Sisters no Sisters Happens while you're dancing. Yeah, that is probably to me like the most iconic dance scene in cinema.
Speaker 1:Wow.
Speaker 2:And I think that it's so important. There might be another dance scene in another movie. That does a one take, but that is a one take impressive uh scene and they are jumping on you know things, jumping off of things. They're dancing. It is like soft shoe. I think it was the era where they were doing the tap sounds off, you know, in post or off camera. That's me saying the most iconic, and I haven't seen all the movies. And you know, to me the most iconic and that's but it counts.
Speaker 2:Uh, it just like. It makes me like want to cry every time I watch it, even though I've seen it hundreds of times, because it's just like so gorgeous and wonderful, but yeah did you see any of heather's posts from when she was like in full costume for it? I didn't. I'll look at her page.
Speaker 1:She was sending me all the, all these marcos. Being like the wig is awful, or the wig is such a problem.
Speaker 2:It looks so good yeah, I was like she was that character, right yeah, it's like you nailed it.
Speaker 1:Cute anyway, very cute. Okay, my next one is our little secret, and I was like what the hell is that?
Speaker 2:it's that new one oh yeah, it's on my list to number three, or is this? Now we're?
Speaker 1:just getting into. Like we like these yeah, yeah, correct, this is just. We like these, so our little secret is my next one lindsey lowen guys, you should watch it, it's really cute it is really cute.
Speaker 2:I don't know that I'd put it all the way up there well, my list isn't long, I just have like.
Speaker 1:These are the movies I like for christmas right now okay, um, what's my next one gonna be? Oh, you did not make a list, I didn't. Well, I can just keep saying mine.
Speaker 2:They're probably the same yeah, I think elf is up there oh for me, I think it's like has become an iconic it is iconic, it's that I'll watch every year. Do you want to?
Speaker 1:know something that's gonna blow your brains, sure? So I spent thanksgiving with suzanna and her family, so it was her family home and their tradition is to watch elf, so we watched elf yeah will ferrell is 35 years old in that movie oh and we were all having a mental breakdown about it yeah, he looks older than that and zoe de chanel was 21, looking like she was a very modest 30-year-old.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess if you were going to say how old do you think she is, I might have said like 25.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I would have said like mid to late 20s, but 21 is young. When they filmed the movie he was 33. Sorry, that's what I meant. When they filmed the movie he was 33. When it came out, he was 35. Okay 33, sorry, that's what I meant.
Speaker 2:He when they filmed the movie, he was 33. When it came out, he was 35, okay, 33 yeah, that's insane.
Speaker 1:He looks like 40 in it for sure yeah, and so many people from that movie are dead because we were just obsessed on the imdb then because of just the movie's so old, we were 13 when that movie came out yeah yeah, that's sad, honestly it is sad, but it is. It's like fine. It's not one of my favorites.
Speaker 2:I was like, yeah, it's cool yeah, I just think it makes me happy yeah, so it's like always gonna be in the rotation for me, uh, home alone, one and two yeah, home alone. Two is lost in new york right, and that's yeah three is cute.
Speaker 1:It's just not a christmas movie to me, even though it's got alex d linds and I loved him, and it's got Scarlett Johansson and it's great.
Speaker 2:Yeah. But I like the original two, one and two, but I also prefer I if, yeah, if I have to pick one to watch, I'm always going to pick two. Gosh the toy store scene.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's so good, it's just like New christmasy. So it's they really nailed the christmas vibes there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I of course have the santa claus one and two. I don't really like three, um, oh, not even two for me I really I'm not watching two or three. I'm not watching anything past the first one not even two no two was exciting because it was like they.
Speaker 1:It was like one of the first movies that they did, like many years later, like a comeback, and it was so exciting to have like the original cast come back like 15 years later or something like that yeah 10 years later I've watched it so little that I don't remember the plot he has to get married or he can't be santa anymore. So he ends up marrying charlie's principal because charlie's acting out and doing graffiti and shit.
Speaker 2:Yeah, 100%. Maybe I'll watch it this year and see if I like it more.
Speaker 1:And then the third one it gets carried away with Jack Frost as the villain, and it's just too much.
Speaker 2:Yeah, isn't it like, or was that the TV show they tried to do? Where he's like, his suit is all like technical and.
Speaker 1:Well, no, the second one, one he has like a plastic santa that takes his place for a little bit and he's like destroying the north pole.
Speaker 2:It just got a little whimsical and less like, yeah, did you try to watch the show? No it wasn't good. No, okay, although he's getting renewed what's his name? Being like an adult was kind of cool charlie, charlie being an adult.
Speaker 1:But he was in it for three seconds I was gonna say he was only in like one episode.
Speaker 2:I thought yeah the very first one. So this, um, since I'm on this list, this movie, I just was reminded, and I will watch this movie at other times of the year, but while you were sleeping, it is a christ like it is at the holidays.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it is a christmas movie and it.
Speaker 2:This was my first impression of sandra bullock, like this is the first movie I ever saw with her in it.
Speaker 1:Okay, and I love what a sad introduction to sunday. Oh no, no, no, no, I'm kidding, I'm confusing with hope floats. This is the one where guy falls on the railroad tracks.
Speaker 2:Fiance, such love that yeah like he gets he can't remember he has amnesia and all the family thinks that she is his girlfriend because she was there and went to the hospital and then. But she falls in love with the brother Like highly recommend so cute.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I have the Grinch any of them. I love the cartoons, I love the remake they did like four years ago and I love the Jim Carrey one.
Speaker 2:Jim Carrey is going to like always be mine.
Speaker 1:My niece and nephew love the new one, that just the animated one that just came out. That's right. Yeah, it's so good really. Have you seen it? No, I have seen clips from it, just being on so I was like her and then I was like crying really benedict cumberbatch does the voice yeah, and tyler, the creator, does the music right, it's. It's so good, it's so good.
Speaker 2:Okay, like I'm not big on animated films and this is good, maybe I'll watch the whole thing, but it was on on Thanksgiving, just like in the background, and I was like, what is this?
Speaker 1:Give it 80% of your attention, like you can still have your phone on you but like watch it. It's another one is spirited. What I think it's so good? Oh, I thought you were talking about spirit the horse.
Speaker 2:It was like a horse movie spirited like spirited ryan reynolds that came out a couple years ago make a ripple ramirez favorite movie yeah, it's so good, yeah, and I know it's new, but like it, like, I think it has the same vibe to me that like elf did when it came out.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it'll go down as like a classic, I think yeah but the last one I have is the lord of the rings series, because to me it's the holidays, even though there's nothing remotely holiday about it, except they're in the snow a few times um, you know that I've seen maybe the first one, like we don't need to talk about I just finished the trilogy. Thank god extended four hours each.
Speaker 2:That's insane.
Speaker 1:It took me a week, but I did it and I loved it and I'll probably do it again.
Speaker 2:I know you will.
Speaker 1:I will.
Speaker 2:The last one I'm going to say is the Muppets Christmas Carol, oh classic, that is a good one. That wasn't on my list but it should be yeah. It's. I'll watch that all year.
Speaker 1:It's always, I know, but they always like release it Like they do the TV. They'll show it on TV at Christmas time.
Speaker 2:It's like yeah, the first one is Christmasy to me and the fourth one. Oh, sure, but the other ones really don't have big Christmas scenes, yeah, so I don't think about them, but the first and the fourth have those scenes that are very holiday vibes. So sure, yeah, I was going to say honorable mention to the Mickey Christmas Carol, because I loved that as a kid and so cute.
Speaker 1:Also the claymation ones. Those are classic.
Speaker 2:Rudolph yeah.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:That's the only claymation I know.
Speaker 1:No, there's Rudolph, and then there's santa claus coming to town oh, I only watched I'm mr heat, miser.
Speaker 2:I'm mr I'm aware of the heat, but I really only watched rudolph okay, well impressive though, so here is rotten tomatoes. I'll give you the top 10 okay number 10, and this is like all movies ever, apparently like all christmas movies ever based on rotten tomatoes ratings. Correct, understood, go ahead number 10 it's a wonderful life, sure. Number nine carol. What is carol?
Speaker 1:oh, carol, that's with um kate blanchett oh this came out in 2015.
Speaker 2:It has a 94 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaker 1:It's a Christmas movie.
Speaker 2:The synopsis is aspiring photographer Therese spots the beautiful, elegant Carol pursuing the doll displays of the 1950s Manhattan department store.
Speaker 1:Okay, I want to watch this.
Speaker 2:Carol.
Speaker 1:Let me see what stream Sarah Paulson.

Speaker 1:I've never seen it. I like the ride, but I've never seen it.
Speaker 2:I think I've seen it, but I don't think I care.
Speaker 1:Carol's on Netflix everyone and Paramount Plus.
Speaker 2:Thank you. Number six Little Women. This is the version with Emma Watson that came out in 2019 with, of course, florence Pugh, because what isn't she in?
Speaker 1:What isn't she in?
Speaker 2:Directed by Greta Gerwig. I didn't know that Interesting.
Speaker 1:Honestly, I like Little Women that interesting.
Speaker 2:Honestly, I like little women so I would watch that. I have not seen it, but I've also not seen it. Number five miracle on 34th street. This missed. This is an older movie, that just missed me. Yeah, I wasn't watching this, but whatever number four tangerine came out in 2015,. 96% rating. It has no one I've ever heard in it.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:And it says after hearing that her boyfriend, slash pimp, cheated on her while she was in jail a transgender sex worker and her best friend set out to find him Tangerine everyone.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I don't know how it's Christmas movie, but sure Number three, the holdovers. This came out last year and I actually heard it was incredible and I meant to watch it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it won a lot of awards.
Speaker 2:Yes, um, from what it's a Paul Giamatti I from what I know it's like a boy's school or like a and.
Speaker 1:And who's the woman that she won the Oscar for it?
Speaker 2:Devine or Divine Joy, rudolph, but I heard it was great, so I actually meant to watch it. Number two the Shop Around the Corner. Which is that? What? Well, sorry, tom Hanks and Helen Hunt, not Helen Hunt.
Speaker 1:Meg Ryan.
Speaker 2:Meg Ryan.
Speaker 1:You've Got Mail.
Speaker 2:You've Got Mail. Is that what that movie is based on? Because her shop is called the Shop Around the Corner in that movie.
Speaker 1:I did not know that.
Speaker 2:Interesting Anyway. Number one is Meet Me in St Louis St.
Speaker 1:Louis, okay, the one with Judy Garland.
Speaker 2:With Judy Garland, and the only reason I know about that is because it's referenced in the Sex and the City movie.
Speaker 1:Oh right.
Speaker 2:Her assistant? Or is it the Sex and the City movie too?
Speaker 1:No, it's the first one with Jennifer Hudson.
Speaker 2:Yeah, her assistant Jennifer Hudson, it's something about that movie, yeah, so, anyway, that's underwhelming to me because why Interesting? But that's the best Christmas movies, as Rotten Tomatoes scores. Okay. Well, there you go. We have no speak pipes this time, even though I put on my Instagram for people to send them, so no one cares.
Speaker 1:Not right now, not this week.
Speaker 2:And I also want to say I keep losing followers. Every time I post something, I lose followers. So what am I supposed to do?
Speaker 1:Are you gaining them as well?
Speaker 2:I mean, yeah, it'll go down like 18 and then it'll go up like five, and then it's just like I feel like that just is how it goes, right? I guess, but like I I think I'm just more aware because I'm trying to get to a hundred thousand.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:And.
Speaker 1:I yeah.
Speaker 2:I'm like so close to getting to 92 or I'm at 91.9.
Speaker 1:So I'm really close to getting to 92. And every time I look it's jumping down lower. Okay.
Speaker 2:And I'm like, okay, what am I supposed to do?

Speaker 2:Wow, one of the times.
Speaker 1:I stayed over at his house. I was like that's pretty crazy.
Speaker 2:That's honestly like guts.
Speaker 1:Why To watch something that is like racy and suggestive at your grandparents house. I don't think I would have done. I think it's just because, like my, the, because I stayed at his house all the time.
Speaker 2:I just knew his routine and he was in bed by 9 pm and he was up at 4 am, so you knew you had a window.
