Do you want to call me out on that again?
Speaker 2:Did you guys hear on the last episode how many times Allison said cooked? I was listening back when I was going through the edit and I was like when I was making the cut down of me in the airport and. I was like you probably shouldn't. You were like you probably shouldn't post that You're going to get cooked.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:There was a moment. If you watch it, I kind of like go, cause I remember thinking what the fuck is she just saying? And but the thing is that wasn't the first time you said it in the episode. So I think I didn't. I let it go. And then I heard that one and you're telling me it's internet slang and I am feeling old.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it is why. Who's saying that? But I feel like you're on TikTok a lot. You just must be watching different people than me.
Speaker 2:I'm just watching Cynthia Erivo and Wicked Clips, still, still.
Speaker 1:You want to do the intro? Oh, right, the A-List. Welcome back to the A-List podcast with Allison and Alex.
Speaker 2:I'm your boy Alex.
Speaker 1:I'm Allison Nope.
Speaker 2:Alexon is kind of a cute name.
Speaker 1:Alexon, should that be? Whoever has the kid first?
Speaker 2:Alexon.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Whoever has the kid first or that's the name of our fans. The Alexans. I like it, the Alexans. How do you guys feel about it?
Speaker 2:The Alex.
Speaker 1:Waiting for your response.
Speaker 2:Yeah, please. Anyway, how are? How are you doing?
Speaker 1:I'm good.
Speaker 2:Wow, it hasn't been that long Since we've recorded, so Should we give the caveat or should we give the heads up that? So should we give the caveat or should we give the heads up that we are currently in the midst of like a San Anas windstorm right now?
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:And the power has been flickering, and one block away from me. Oh my gosh the whole street's out, so it's very likely.
Speaker 1:That's a baby outside.
Speaker 2:There's a chance that this could be stalled.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's actually crazy when I was driving over here. One, it took me way longer than it normally does, and then, two, I got stuck at the light right there. That was insane and no one is directing traffic there and it took so long. It said like I got there at 635.
Speaker 2:Got where.
Speaker 1:To close to the light. Oh yeah, the street back from the light.35. Got where Too close to the light, oh yeah. The street back from the light, okay, and it told me it was going to take four more minutes to get to the light. Luckily I didn't have to, because I went to the turn lane. No one was there, but then the turn lane was a mess. It doesn't matter, but it was annoying.
Speaker 2:It's a lot.
Speaker 1:And there's a fire right now. Another fire in the Palisades.
Speaker 2:Stanley and I got evacuated from our building this morning.
Speaker 1:It's crazy here. Yeah, I'm sorry, we're back in the building.
Speaker 2:I should clarify.
Speaker 1:Yes, and that was someone. The fire alarm was going off. Is that because of the wind or because there was a fire in the building?
Speaker 2:There was a fire in the building, so I just did the thing that everyone does and you just let it run and you're just laying in bed.
Speaker 1:And just like await the impending doom.
Speaker 2:But it was going on for a while and so I was, like I happened, to check my email and it said all residents of building B evacuate immediately.
Speaker 1:Which is insane. They should be texting you that, at the very least.
Speaker 2:That's a good point.
Speaker 1:No one's checking their email that early.
Speaker 2:Let's also remember that the point of a very loud ass fire alarm is to tell you to get out of the building, oh right, so it's more like they're like for the people like me that are just like. This happens two times a week here.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Anyway, so I exit the building in the middle of a wind tornado and the fire is right behind here and the ladder's up on the roof and they're going up there with a chainsaw and a whole thing. What? Yeah, I filmed it.
Speaker 1:Uh, it was pretty nuts and then they let us come back in the building. So yeah, well, that's crazy, and I was gonna say I was gonna make a joke about a house falling on you as it relates to wicked yeah, oh, because you said tornado yeah, it was like a tornado out there there's lots of things flying there. I was driving over here again, or I was driving over here and there were like four trash cans in the middle of Oxnard. Yeah, so many trash cans.
Speaker 2:There was like a random beer floaty up here back here.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Probably came off of someone's balcony is what I think.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, yeah. But anyway it's wild out there. It's the end times.
Speaker 2:Well, that's what my mother thinks.
Speaker 1:Well, speaking of traffic, just this happened to me today, so I need to get it off my chest. We were talking last episode about flipping people off and having a road rage and in this instance, I did not flip this person off. I want you to know. I want to preface it by saying I did not, but I was turning onto the street before you turn onto my street. Okay, from the big street.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to not say where I live, but I was turning left onto that street and this person was which street, from the big street to the less big street before your street?
Speaker 2:Yes, got it Okay.
Speaker 1:That person was turning on the less big street to the big street left.
Speaker 2:Left. Oh, we know that that's tricky, it's tough Across, know that, that's tricky across the chandelier, but I still have the right away.
Speaker 1:Excuse me, correct yes and he started to pull out. I assume it was a he, because ladies, don't be doing that, yeah he started to pull out as I was turning and I did like a hand gesture. That wasn't a flip off, it was just like whoa, like hey, relax, that type of thing like hand up up If you're just listening, I'm just throwing my hand up, not a vulgar gesture but firm but firm, and I I said that like Whoa what, what are you doing?
Speaker 1:Or like Whoa, chill out. And I turned. This person made a U-turn on the big street, chased me down in their car and I was about to turn on my actual street and I was like, no, I can't turn onto my street. I kept going and they got. I should have break, checked them. But then what if they had a gun, you know? And they followed me for a block or two, like on my ass, and then they finally gave up and did another U-turn and left.
Speaker 2:Yeah, women don't do that.
Speaker 1:But they chased me down.
Speaker 2:They changed their plans because that upset them so much.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and I didn't even flip them off at all, no you didn't, so I just needed to get that off my chest, because that was crazy. That is crazy and that is scary and Josh was like you should have said something and I was like what by myself no-transcript did together.
Speaker 2:Oh my gosh Sounds like a duet.
Speaker 1:It was. What do you mean it's?
Speaker 2:mine and Allison's song and we did the video together. Um, and I was like thinking back about that. We filmed that in November of 21.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:I released it in January, January 12th of 22.
Speaker 1:I remember waiting so long for you to release it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, cause I wanted it to have the the new year's date, cause I was going to release it in December and I was like no, I wanted to have the fresh year yeah year. Yeah, so was it three years ago.
Speaker 1:Wow, yeah, wait four.
Speaker 2:We're into 21 to 22, 22 to 23. No 22 to 23, 23 to 24, 24, 25. Three years Got it. Three year anniversary. The three years ago, there's so much I would change about that video if I did it today, but I'm glad that I that it exists as a historical document to some a time in my life that was really fun and that was exciting.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I feel like anyone would say that, no matter what the circumstances, I feel like a lot of people would say that there's things that they would change about videos. Yeah, that's, true, just because, like you evolve as a person and you're like Whoa weird that I made that choice.
Speaker 2:I think that the re, like I haven't really thought that about many, but I think the reason with wasting time is because the song still feels so relevant to me, like it's still like one of my songs that I'm like most proud of so I feel like, I just get more inspired. To like yeah oh, I wish I like would have done it this, but this way. But it was a fun video and ben did an amazing job.
Speaker 1:So oh yeah, what if we did some new little videos?
Speaker 2:like filmed new videos for this not like full production because I can't help you with that.
Speaker 1:But we could do like on the street, like little oh, I see what you're saying yeah yeah, like little vignettes yeah, we should do all right.
Speaker 2:Well, here's the first one.
Speaker 1:Now imagine we, we've already done it Four days. We should so comment below, if that's what you want.
Speaker 2:I was going to ask you, please, and Allison, thanks for being part of that music video.
Speaker 1:You're welcome. She really fucking hurt me that day. There is Okay, we got it on.
Speaker 2:We got it on camera too. It's one of the best pictures of us ever, but this girl slammed my fingers.
Speaker 1:I'm so sorry. Hey, it's all right. We got a great photo out of it. We did it was cute. Um, I can't you, I don't know whatever, I literally can't look all right. Well, another time, another place I can't because I, you guys, candidly, I have the worst cramps ever and my brain is not doing well that's okay, I'm here to carry.
Speaker 2:remember, just like bernie brown says, if only you can give 40, I got the other 60.
Speaker 1:I love that. Thank you so much, but I am feeling a little silly for some reason. I think it's because I had some coffee from 7-eleven 7-eleven silly blend.
Speaker 2:Yeah um, there was another thing I remembered today that I thought about how you always forget.
Speaker 1:That I've said something.
Speaker 2:No, like how you forget things so easily. It was another instance, where you forgot something that I couldn't believe, and now I've forgotten that.
Speaker 1:What I said last week.
Speaker 2:Yeah, like something that was like. How do you forget that I was involved in that?
Speaker 1:It's my quirky personality trait. Okay well that I forget everything, okay, well, do you want to talk about the Golden Globes?
Speaker 2:I would love to talk about the Golden Globes, candidly. Candidly, did you watch them?
Speaker 1:Okay, I did, but I didn't watch the whole thing.
Speaker 2:So what did you?
Speaker 1:watch, Because in the middle I was so hungry I had to go get food.
Speaker 2:Here's my takeaway of in general, I think nikki did a good job hosting she was. Her opening monologue was funny. Yes, I really enjoyed she she like jabbed at the right people. It was nice, yeah, but the show in general I didn't think it was very entertaining yeah, what I saw?
Speaker 1:it was very lackluster. Yeah, I, I do agree it was refreshing for one to have a woman and not just like.
Speaker 2:Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon or whoever I was hoping it'd be Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, because they've done that three times, so good.
Speaker 1:Yes, but I do Another podcast I was listening to was like why, when we do women, Is it two?
Speaker 1:Why is it always multiple people, like, why can't one person be doing it? And so I did like that. It was fun and so I thought it was refreshing for just not to be a man for one. And I did like some of her jokes. Like I didn't laugh at every single joke, but I re-watched it this morning just to like have another look at it, and yeah, I thought it was cute, I thought that she did a good job. Yeah, I liked, um, what was my favorite joke? I actually don't remember like specifically the wording of the jokes, but I, I like that she went in on like timothy chalamet, like three times yeah, she did not stop I think it was like she knew it was okay to do that she cooked him she, she didn't really cook him well, what's cooking?
Speaker 1:Because she wasn't like mean.
Speaker 2:Oh, cooking's like when you're getting dragged.
Speaker 1:Yeah, got it. Yeah, yeah, she just kind of teased and then we got, you know, kylie content, because we never really see them together, right, I liked her popular. Yes, actually, I didn't like that. I don't know why I agreed yes, I didn't like that I don't know why. I agreed. Yes, I didn't actually like that.
Speaker 2:Thank you for being honest. That was cringy, the people pleaser in. You could have just continued on with the joke.
Speaker 1:I'm feeling silly. No, I thought that was cringy, actually Okay, but I did like the joke at the beginning where she made a joke about holding space.
Speaker 2:And they grabbed onto each other.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I thought that was cute. That was cute. I have performed, or we have performed on that stage at the beverly hilton for the streamies.
Speaker 2:Oh, that room is small it is, so it is interesting they make it look bigger.
Speaker 1:I've only been to clive davis's after party grammy party there in that room yeah okay yeah, yeah, we did the streamies there and especially with that it looks way bigger. And then, now that I've seen it, I could tell it was smaller. But I do, the camera angles do make it look like a way bigger venue, but yeah, we performed. We performed on that stage and I was like, wow, I have been where all these people have been.
Speaker 2:And speaking of cameras, they have been where all these people have been. And speaking of cameras, it was so weird. Also, I hated it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because it is. I feel like it's more shallow.
Speaker 2:It is so they had to get creative, so they had to do the side angle. Well, and that rotating the one, because did you watch Seth Rogen's when he got up there to announce?
Speaker 1:No, that must have been when I was. So he made a comment about it.
Speaker 2:He's like this angle is awful and like a lot of people had trouble reading the teleprompter.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Like poor Adriana.
Speaker 1:What's her name?
Speaker 2:DuBose.
Speaker 1:Ariana Ariana DuBose. Yeah, so when we did it that circle extension wasn't on it, so the teleprompter for our show was straight ahead and it was fine. But because they added the extension. I think that's why straight ahead and it was fine, but because they added the extension.
Speaker 2:I think that's why, because it was it's. It's a shallow room right, and it was part of the, but it was at a weird angle yeah but whatever I think the overall the show was just like I was I was working while I was doing it so it was like it didn't even keep my interest really yeah, I kind of was too, until I went to get food.
Speaker 1:But, like it was, it wasn't that exciting and I did think some of the winners because they were kind of the artsy people it was kind of like drab acceptance speeches and I was like okay.
Speaker 2:I don't know if I was expecting Ariana and Cynthia Like I don't know if I'm expecting them to win in their categories, but I did think Wicked would win more, and I know that we're just served a ton of Wicked content, so maybe it feels like it's way more in everyone's face than it actually is, cause I didn't get served anything for Amelia Perez.
Speaker 1:I did a little bit, but it was negative. It was there's backlash because of the um. Selena doesn't speak Spanish.
Speaker 2:Oh right.
Speaker 1:And so she didn't know what she was saying or she wasn't delivering it in the proper way, because she's just reading lines rather than speaking like. I saw negative things like that, but I haven't.
Speaker 1:Honestly, I kind of want to watch it now I went and watched the whole plot I don't know who the person is about, but I went and watched the trailer and I didn't know that it was a musical at all and after watching the trailer I was like I could give this a shot. But I, yeah, I don't know what the story is, do you?
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's wild. I'm going to send you a Tik TOK where this girl spoils the whole thing, but like the way she explains it, I want it has a crazy ending. Okay, anyway, okay, well, I just was surprised that, like I've not really been served much about any of the other films that were big winners.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:I've never seen Shogun, and now I feel like I need to cause. They won so much last year too.
Speaker 1:I do. I get um served, just like on the platforms to see it, and I think, yeah, I think Josh might've watched it and said it was good.
Speaker 2:Disney plus.
Speaker 1:Is it?
Speaker 2:I'm asking, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I don't know but, I, do see, I do see it pop up.
Speaker 2:Is it?
Speaker 1:Marvel.
Speaker 2:See, that's what I don't know either.
Speaker 1:I don't think it is, but I could be wrong.
Speaker 2:They won so much.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm interested in that, and I'm interested in the brutalist and I'm interested in the Brutalist. I cannot sit for that long. How long?
Speaker 2:is it.
Speaker 1:It's over three hours and there is an intermission built in to the movie.
Speaker 2:What's it about? Is it Germany, nazi Germany?
Speaker 1:I looked it up. It's about a guy who immigrates to the US after a war, I think, and it's just about his life. I looked at the trailer also and does look good, but at you know, I thought it was weird. They had all these fun facts at the bottom and they were short.
Speaker 2:They were long, but I'm sorry. They were long, but they cut them off short. So you had no time to read them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I, but I read a couple of them. Where was I going with this? Oh and, and it said, at the theaters, it might not be built in at home because you can just pause at home, but if you see it at the theater it's a built-in like 10 minute intermission for people to go use the restroom because it's over three hours wow long, or over three and a half or something crazy. I can't do that, like it. Literally my attention span, I don't think, will allow for that, because I don't even I can't do that like it. Literally my attention span, I don't think will allow for that, because I don't even.
Speaker 1:I can't even sit through titanic these days that's I can but I already I know what's happening yeah, so I kind of just can tune out, and then I'm back when I when the action starts okay, that's fair when you put in cassette number two yes, um, um, so yeah, the big winners. If you guys didn't watch um, the best drama was the brutalist, which is Adrian Brody, and he looked great. He did look great, honestly like get it. And his wife is beautiful and wow, best actress was Fernanda Torres. I'm still here. I don't know what that is, fernanda Torres, I'm still here.
Speaker 2:I don't know what that is, fernanda Torres.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but under it says I'm still here.
Speaker 2:That's the name of the movie.
Speaker 1:Oh, I don't know what that movie is.
Speaker 2:Yes, I think you do.
Speaker 1:I'm still here. A mother is forced to reinvent herself when her family's life is shattered by an act of arbitrary violence during the tightening grip of a military dictatorship in Brazil in 1971. I have not heard of this, never mind. I thought something totally different. And then best musical or comedy went to Amelia Perez.
Speaker 2:How did Wicked not win that I know?
Speaker 1:Oh sorry, I was going to say this earlier. I think that Wicked will do better in the oscars and in people's choice, because I do think that the golden globes tend to go more artsy okay and go for like the serious brooding actors wicked one.
Speaker 2:What blockbuster film, or something yeah, that's the only thing right, it's the only thing they want.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was happy We'll get to it, but I was happy for Demi.
Speaker 2:I was too, and that speech was great and Zoe.
Speaker 1:So best supporting actress in a motion picture went to Zoe Saldana and Amelia Perez and her. I've been watching um lioness that she's in and I'm obsessed that she's in and I'm obsessed. So I was like happy for that, because I'm really immersed in lots of Zoe Saldana right now.
Speaker 2:She did seem a little unhinged, but oh, maybe she was just drunk. I wondered if she was like maybe a little intoxicated.
Speaker 1:And then best actress in a musical went to Demi Moore for the Substance and she In a musical. Musical or comedy.
Speaker 2:Oh right.
Speaker 1:Which I didn't know. That was a comedy. I thought it was serious.
Speaker 2:I didn't know it was a comedy either.
Speaker 1:I feel like that they just shoved that movie in there because it doesn't fit anywhere else. Maybe, Maybe. But I was like tearing up a little at her speech because she's never won anything before and she didn't think she ever was going to. And I thought it was really sweet Because to me she's like such a well-known really sweet because to me she's like such a well-known.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was shocked to hear that and I just assume yeah, I assume that back in the day when she was like the it girl that she had won so I don't know good for her best actor went to adrian brody in the brutalist jumping down. Supporting actor went to kieran culkin and I want to see that movie, obviously because of jesse eisenberg, so I'm excited about that, and he's wearing an IU hat in the whole movie and I like that and I want to find out where Kieran Culkin got his rings.
Speaker 2:They were so fucking cool. Oh, I didn't notice that he was wearing like the shiniest rings, one here, here and here oh fun.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was really cool. I bet you probably could if you I like a reverse image search Screenplay went to Conclave. I don't know if I would like that, but I am interested in the plot.
Speaker 2:About the popes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, a Conclave is the in-between time after a pope dies or gets out of office while they're deciding who the next one is and I just love stanley tucci, yeah, yeah, great actor. So like I feel that I would yeah be excited jumping down. Yeah, um, shogun got best actress in a drama tv. Drama tv series and actor and actor. So all those three um baby reindeer, one for best miniseries and um Jessica Gunning one for female actor in a television, and that was I liked her speech.
Speaker 2:I thought she was sweet. I have I don't know why I have a vivid memory of both of them already winning an award at an award show last year you do, I don't have that so maybe, like the was the sag awards, they might have been later yeah, maybe they pushed them because of the um the strike.
Speaker 1:The strike could have been just like pushed a little later. I don't know. Uh, best musical comedy tv series was hacks. I've never watched that, but a lot of people like it.
Speaker 2:I love hacks. It's so good. I think Emmys is what I'm thinking of. The Emmys were late last year and baby reindeer one.
Speaker 1:Okay, that makes sense. Um best actor and a TV series went to Jeremy Allen white deserved and he wasn't there, which was weird. So Jennifer Coolidge accepted. Yeah, it's always weird when someone wins and they're not there. Yeah, I don't, I don't like it. And then the stand-up comedian went to ali wong, which love her yeah, amazing so that was the show yeah, it was pretty.
Speaker 2:Um, like I said, there was nothing like amazing about it.
Speaker 1:To me it was just like a good show yeah, I I think too, because other shows have performances that is a big which is a big thing, like the oscars we're seeing, you know, I don't you think they'll perform something from wicked, or no? Do they do that?
Speaker 2:yeah, if it's nominated for a best song. The best songs are what get performed they probably wait, is it?
Speaker 1:aren't the nominees out? For the oscars no oh, I thought, oh, that was grammys that we read we read the grammy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we read the grammys yeah wait, can you look it up? Sure, I don't think. I don't think they are.
Speaker 1:I think they announced them either next week or the week after one day ago there was a article that said os Oscars announced 323 feature films deemed eligible for nominations.
Speaker 2:So they're not that good Okay.
Speaker 1:But I feel like they would right. There's no way that Defying Gravity doesn't get nominated.
Speaker 2:That'd be wild I could see maybe Popular.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's a good scene, or Wizard and I All great.
Speaker 2:Dancing Through Life.
Speaker 1:Dancing Through Life.
Speaker 2:Something Bad is happening to Nas.
Speaker 1:My favorite song. I feel like they would, and that's what makes the shows more exciting.
Speaker 2:So you're right.
Speaker 1:Speaking of also actors, good segues Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman are officially a thing. They have stepped out.
Speaker 2:His new beard.
Speaker 1:Yes, he's, you know, attractive man. Yeah, they have pictures that they definitely planned.
Speaker 2:Oh, you think.
Speaker 1:Because the article yes, they had like exclusive, like People Magazine or something. Oh, with these paparazzi pictures, like just pose them, like just send in a photo and be like we're dating, just letting you all know, yeah. But um, yeah, they have pictures of them holding hands walking in Santa Monica and it's like we are together. So you can all stop speculating. And what a cute love story. Feel bad for their exes, yeah, but there is not any confirmation of an affair, although they were obviously in the music man together and that's obviously where they fell in love right but maybe they didn't, you know, actually act on it they just were like we love each other and we have to leave our people could be
Speaker 2:maybe Maybe Maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1:So that was news. And then also Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged, which is also news.
Speaker 2:I wonder if we'll ever see them together in a work show.
Speaker 1:Literally never, because she had her engagement ring on. But, honestly, they haven't even confirmed this.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:It's just everyone's reporting it because she was wearing an engagement ring. That isn't a ring she's never worn and it wasn't like a fashion looking ring. Yes, so who knows, but everyone has said it's fact, so I'm saying it's fact agreed also, we should probably go to disney soon I was literally gonna ask you when we stopped recording. I already looked at dates. Okay, yeah, we should plan one tonight, because things are about to get busy. Yes.
Speaker 2:Are you done talking about that?
Speaker 1:Are you done? Yes, I'm done.
Speaker 2:No, because I have sad pop culture news.
Speaker 1:Oh no. Did you see that the Vivian died. Oh the drag, queen Drag queen, I did not what happened.
Speaker 2:They haven't released the cause of death 32. Hmm, For those that don't know, the Vivian is a an hilarious drag queen. She won I think his name is Nick, but won the first season of UK drag race.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And then did all drag race all stars here in the States like two cycles ago and then has done so many. There's so many viral funny clips on TikTok with the Vivian and Monet. Yeah, oh my gosh, Etiquette school or whatever. Yeah, there's so many viral funny clips on tiktok with the vivian and monet. Yeah, oh my gosh etiquette school or whatever yeah anyway, a big personality, super fucking talented drag queen and just died also.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I just clicked on that article.
Speaker 2:Has said nothing, uh he did struggle with addiction. I hope that it doesn't link to that, but we'll see. And then also, aubrey plaza's husband died.
Speaker 1:I did see that on page six when I was scrolling, and sad. Really sad he was like what in his 50s no 40s.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but it was, and he was killed himself.
Speaker 1:Oh, yes, I saw that Sad.
Speaker 2:Have you watched the Avicii documentary yet?
Speaker 1:speaking of sad, no, but I heard someone talk about it today, and here's my thing. All respect to Avicii, I did not listen to anything outside of what I heard on the radio, which was a lot because it was very radio.
Speaker 2:Hey brother, but I don't know much about him. Well, Avicii, his music is so tied to such a strong summer memory for me that like I will always love that. And then, shortly before he died, I got to, I was in like the VIP section of his residency at excess Vegas and was literally like a stone's throw from the DJ booth and it was just transcendent and amazing.
Speaker 1:That's cool, but I mean, I would watch it, but I, I haven't felt compelled to because I just like, didn't.
Speaker 2:It wasn't like someone I followed, I have to tell you so, our friend Erin. I was at her, I was with her all day yesterday shooting. So just some sad pop culture stuff going on too that is sad.
Speaker 1:I I'll think about watching the documentary.
Speaker 2:Have you. I really haven't been on TikTok much lately, but is there any more news on development, on its cancellation or anything?
Speaker 1:Not on its cancellation, but it came out today or yesterday that Mr Wonderful is thinking about buying it or trying to buy it from Shark Tank Kevin O'Leary.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay.
Speaker 1:Let me double check on if there's any new. But he made a statement that he wants to help buy tiktok and it says another investor is expressing interest in purchasing tiktok. Less than two weeks before the social media platform could be banned in the United States, known as, mr Wonderful on the show Shark Tank Said that he's joining billionaire Frank McCourt in a plan to purchase TikTok. So, that is promising and that would be nice, but that's the only update that. I've heard.
Speaker 1:Okay would be nice, but that's the only update that I've heard. Okay, but again it sounds like trump wants to keep it, so I guess we'll see, because the day before is when it's supposed to be banned before his inauguration. Yeah, so oh also, should we go to disney on inauguration day? Is that scary or like the happiest place on earth?
Speaker 2:I was gonna say, or it's the happiest place on earth but like what?
Speaker 1:if someone wants to like do something, we go to disneyland, we go into lincoln's great mystery, or whatever and we just marvel at mr lincoln and we just say you know what?
Speaker 2:we shed a little tear what a guy thank you for being a queer icon.
Speaker 1:And then we leave yeah thank you, mr lincoln I can't, but maybe we should go. Maybe it'll bring happiness and joy and there's, like lots of lunar new year foods that we should try wait, but that's, it's gonna be nuts, because it's also president's day, disney.
Speaker 2:Is that like a day that people go?
Speaker 1:inauguration day. President's day means kids. It's going to be nuts because it's also President's Day. Disney, is that like a day that people go?
Speaker 2:You said Inauguration Day, president's Day, means kids don't have school.
Speaker 1:Oh, so they would be going to Disneyland.
Speaker 2:Are we able to make a reservation that day? Yeah, that's actually surprising.
Speaker 1:Maybe we're not, I don't know. I was just lying.
Speaker 2:I looked at it. No, I think we?
Speaker 1:I think we are Cause I looked earlier today and I was looking at dates which they don't even. They don't have anything open for my birthday yet.
Speaker 2:Well, the first like week in March Because our passes expire, so you only see those dates once you renew. That's why yeah.
Speaker 1:That is why, okay, well, I was looking at that also. But then I looked at what is open this month and I swear that the 20th is open, because I was like, oh, we should go because crazy day and we should be at Disneyland, yes, when it's.
Speaker 2:I mean we could do a our kind of Disney day. It doesn't matter how busy it is, we don't need to get in front of the line, we can just go have food somewhere.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:People watch line. We can just go have food somewhere. Yeah, people watch, cry and then go to downtown disney or something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, all right, sorry guys, we'll make our plan off. Yeah, okay, so birthdays for january 13th happy birthday my sister always cuts oh, happy birthday, amanda my sister's birthday, patrick dempsey rip.
Speaker 2:It's so funny. I was watching millionaire matchmaker and his brother was like on there weird being like, oh, as the millionaire yeah, because he's a millionaire. He's like my brother's memory and like he looks just like him, but like a rougher version. What?
Speaker 1:do you think he has a hard time dating people?
Speaker 2:yeah, because he's not as hot as.
Speaker 1:Dang? Who did you say Patrick Dempsey? He's not dead. I thought you were making a joke about Grey's Anatomy.
Speaker 2:No, I was thinking of Patrick Swayze.
Speaker 1:So was Patrick Swayze's dad on.
Speaker 2:No brother.
Speaker 1:Dad.
Speaker 2:Patrick Swayze's brother was a contestant on Millionaire Matchmaker as the millionaire looking for love that makes more sense. He's a less attractive version of Patrick Swayze, and I never concluded the episode to see if in fact he found love.
Speaker 1:You need to look it up ASAP. I do. I thought you were making a joke about Patrick Dempsey's character on Grey's Anatomy because he died Spoiler alert and it was the worst thing to ever happen in Grey's Anatomy, and so I just let it go, because I thought you were making a joke.
Speaker 2:I was just going on and with a long con, yes, kind of a short con, yeah, okay, happy birthday Patrick.
Speaker 1:Well, he's 59.
Speaker 2:59. 59.
Speaker 1:59.
Speaker 2:Wow Okay.
Speaker 1:Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy in Stranger Things, is 30. Okay, liam Hemsworth.
Speaker 2:Liam is a little younger than us. No, liam Hemsworth is not younger than us.
Speaker 1:He's a little older 36. 35.
Speaker 2:So he's the same age as us.
Speaker 1:Well, right now we're not 35 yet. But we are 1990 babies and so is he yes, Okay so he is yes, okay, so he is our age.
Speaker 2:So for a few months.
Speaker 1:He is older.
Speaker 2:For literally one month.
Speaker 1:He is older Okay.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Okay, orlando Bloom.
Speaker 2:Orlando Bloom, who I have a picture with at a Pinkberry Yogurt.
Speaker 1:Oh, and were you wearing elf ears?
Speaker 2:No, but I was wearing a beanie. It kind of looked elfish Love. He said let's get this in one. Tight guys, yeah, Whoa. Yeah, it was hot, I'm going to guess he is. Oh, in 2003. 45?
Speaker 1:48.
Speaker 2:Okay. Julia Louis dreyfus 62 64 okay, close looks great shonda rhimes shonda rhimes is crushed at age 56 close 55.
Speaker 1:That's all the people we knew, okay, but uh, in in pop culture things. Schitt's Creek premiered on this day in 2015.
Speaker 2:Great show.
Speaker 1:The song Toxic by Britney Spears was released in 2004.
Speaker 2:History was made.
Speaker 1:And the song Flowers by Miley Cyrus was released in 2023. So, honestly, a pretty good day.
Speaker 2:Pretty good day, pretty good day in history.
Speaker 1:Yeah Shall, we play a game.
Speaker 2:I'd like to play a game.
Speaker 1:I'd love that too. Yeah, okay, so this game is called Wavelength and basically we get a car Wavelength, basically we get a card that has two sides, arrows this way, arrow that way, and we.
Speaker 2:You give me a word, do you turn?
Speaker 1:you spin the wheel you randomize the wheel and it will put numbers two, three, four, three, two and word. You're trying to guess exactly in the middle, but we this is such a bad way of saying this but we are. This is such a bad way of saying this I will randomly move this wheel and I'm going to try to get him to guess where the number four is by giving him an example that is not on the card, and we're going to see if we're on the same wavelength. Does that make sense?
Speaker 2:to the people. This is one of those things. It's also like once you start playing it, you get it more. Yeah, let's see if we're on the same wavelength. Does that make?
Speaker 1:sense to the people. This is one of those things.
Speaker 2:It's also like once you start playing it, you get it more. Yeah, let's see if we're on the same wavelength.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:What's the first categories?
Speaker 1:This one I'm scared about, but let's try it. This is good TV show or bad TV show. Okay, so this is my opinion.
Speaker 2:So now she gives me a show that she thinks will get me to get as close to the four as possible.
Speaker 1:Yes, I have nothing to back this up. I don't really know your opinion, I'm just going to guess. Okay, cheers.
Speaker 2:Okay, good show, bad show. Wait, bad Good. Okay, so you're going to have to tell me yeah, I'll let you know, bad is to the left, good is to the right. I'll let you know, Bad is to the left, good is to the right. Cheers is a critically acclaimed, beloved show that I've never seen so, but I know that it's a good show, but to me it's like I wouldn't watch it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm not going off of the critics.
Speaker 2:I'm going off of you. Well, that's a context. Clue everyone Off of me. Then I'm going to say, say, put it at like tell me when to stop o'clock. Stop, reveal, damn get it fucking close.
Speaker 1:We got three nice okay, okay pretty close wavelength we're on the same wavelength. That was really hard, because I don't know why I picked something that I don't.
Speaker 2:I watch the same kind of tv shows you can't see it when it's turned around, right? No, so you could just do it for me, then I don't have to hold it oh, yeah, like you can just turn it around, not look yeah all right, give me a category okay, so for you well for you, but for me, this is inessential versus essential okay so to the left will be inessential and to the right will be essential. Okay, reveal for me. Don't look at my eyes.
Speaker 1:Oh, as if.
Speaker 2:Okay, close it. Essential, inessential.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:Inessential essential okay.
Speaker 1:Washing your hands. Okay, washing your hands is pretty essential to the germs in which get on you, so I'm going pretty far on the essential side I'm going to go here. Here's my reasoning for where I'm doing it. It is essential. If you miss a time, you're not going to die. It's not great, it's not good practice, but you're not going to die, so I'm going to go there. Final answer.
Speaker 2:Okay, oh yeah, you were thinking the exact same thing I was, which is like it's essential. I knew that if I had said like brush your teeth, you would have gone a far right. So I was like what's one, like less that she, so that was pretty good.
Speaker 1:Oh my gosh, we are on the same wavelength. We are Okay. This is for me to ask you again, okay? I'm giving you normal versus weird, okay okay, everyone play along, since you can't see. Um, this way is weird. Yeah, okay, something to fit.
Speaker 2:This would be bum bum not liking ranch hot, take not liking ranch to me, not like it. Can you stop me? Not to me, not liking ranch is completely inessential. Oh, that's not what you said.
Speaker 1:It's weird or not weird.
Speaker 2:Normal and weird. Not liking ranch is weird. Is that what you said? Not liking ranch?
Speaker 1:I said not liking ranch.
Speaker 2:But there is a pretty big divide. It's either like people love ranch or they're like I don't fuck with ranch, right, put it at 2 pm, just keep going. I'll tell you keep going, stop. It is a little weird, but it's not the weirdest thing, let's see fuck.
Speaker 1:Oh, we're so close now how'd? You said mayo I thought I was, I thought you were gonna. I do feel like I can't speak. I was going off of like us okay so that is my bad.
Speaker 2:I need to stop thinking so broadly, because the wavelength I'm giving it, we're on the same wavelength.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, okay, I'm scared of this one, but let's do it smelly in a bad way or smelly in a good way okay, smelly in a bad way v smelly in a good way do you need to see it again bad smell, good smell, oh, it smells. Smelly in a bad way, smelly in a good way.
Speaker 2:Okay, gasoline.
Speaker 1:Okay. So to me that's pretty smelly in a good way, so I'm going to go here again. Let's see no.
Speaker 2:I was thinking like it's one of those things that smells good, but like you're not supposed to smell it.
Speaker 1:Yes, that's true, but I was thinking like the majority of people agree that it smells good, but like you're not supposed to smell it. Yes, that's true, but I do. I was thinking like the majority of people agree that it smells good so dang it.
Speaker 2:We're not on the same wavelength no, we were hot off the press and right in the beginning.
Speaker 1:One more okay, one more. Okay, this one is for kids or for adults? Okay, so this way is for kids, this way is for adults.
Speaker 2:Copy.
Speaker 1:Put it at. Put it at what.
Speaker 2:You've given me no answer, nothing yet.
Speaker 1:I'm going to say Say it yeah, eating chicken nuggets.
Speaker 2:Eating chicken nuggets. Eating chicken nuggets is for everyone, for kids, for adults, oh god. But then I could see you being like no, it's right in the middle, maybe a little to the left, to to the left. Sorry, my left there there I should have left the other way.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was leaning a little bit like it. I guess you were kind of right, but I was thinking like for us.
Speaker 2:Oh, we're claiming it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm sorry, no it for us. Oh, we're claiming it yeah.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry.
Speaker 1:No, it's okay. I don't know if this was good to watch or listen to everyone, so you're going to have to let us know, but I have been wanting to play this with Alex forever, yep, and we might do a couple of them on the TikTok, so look out for us there. Do you have anything on your heart that you would like to say to end this podcast?
Speaker 2:The way that she said that to me it felt very like are you creating something? Is there?
Speaker 1:anything you forgot to say?
Speaker 2:Happy birthday Alison, just kidding. Happy birthday my sister. Oh yeah, happy birthday Amanda.
Speaker 1:Happy birthday, my sister, my sister.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, happy birthday Amanda. Yeah, happy birthday my sister.
Speaker 1:My sister Wait.
Speaker 2:Yeah, she's not in Aquarius. We're not there yet.
Speaker 1:No, what is she Capricorn?
Speaker 2:Yeah, they're right. Before Capricorn Aquarius Pisces.
Speaker 1:That's us.
Speaker 2:No, I think that's all from me.
Speaker 1:All right. Well, thank you so much for listening and watching and doing all the things. We are pretty now active on our Instagram the A-List pod.
