Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the A-List podcast with Allison and. Alex, I'm Allison.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Alex.

Speaker 1:

And that was a special riff of the song.

Speaker 2:

Allison, what are you wearing?

Speaker 1:

I'm wearing my active booty crew neck. Wow, thanks for the promo. You can get this at activebootycom along with our full collegiate collection.

Speaker 2:

And be sure to use promo code the A-list pod for absolutely no deal whatsoever.

Speaker 1:

But you could type it in and maybe Cameron will see it and be like, maybe we should do that. Well, hey, what's up?

Speaker 2:

Hey, long time no see.

Speaker 1:

Long time. No see, I'm not going to lie guys. This is prerecorded here's why, but we did change clothes. We changed clothes To pretend, even though I told you right away I can't keep a secret.

Speaker 2:

I don't think it's for pretending, it's for editing's sake. True, but no Allie is. You're eloping in Mexico, which is so exciting.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I am. No, I can't start that. Okay, sorry, we are in. No, I mean, I'm not going to cut it out, but we are going to Mexico for Cameron's birthday. Cameron's 30th. And then no, you don't go at the same time.

Speaker 2:

No, but I am turning 35 while you're gone.

Speaker 1:

And I will be going to Disney. Well, when this comes out, you have already turned 35.

Speaker 2:

That's true, you guys. I'm 35 now. Happy birthday.

Speaker 1:

Well, yes, this is prerecorded. So what do we have to talk about?

Speaker 2:

I have a few things, but we have nothing to catch up on. Is it the plane?

Speaker 1:

crashes and how we're all about to be on planes. I went down such a conspiracy rabbit hole today about this ex-cia agent that apparently predicted these plane crashes and that there's a like a thousand terrorists came into the country to orchestrate some sort of attack, like they did october 7th. Like I gotta go. Either I gotta stop with the conspiracy videos or I physically need to go. Yeah, it's not like okay. Every time I look at social media or the news, it's like we have tragic news again today and it's like I can't take this.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know.

Speaker 1:

But there is. I keep seeing these TikToks of people who are like kind of parodying that and they'll be like breaking news. You are a baddie who deserves a sweet treat or something.

Speaker 2:

And I'm like like this is the kind of content that I want. Hell yeah, it's my phone recording it sure is excellent.

Speaker 1:

I do have some piece of news that is a little bit more exciting, but also not that exciting okay, I'll take it a photo, photo, poster thing. For another simple favor has been posted by miss blake lively and it is premiering at south by southwest and going directly to amazon prime, like it's not going to theater wow and let me show you the flyer okay, flyer whatever it's called the advertisement. Yeah, why did they do this? They put oh yeah, why is Blake's name above Anna's name?

Speaker 2:

It's it that makes sense.

Speaker 1:

Because she's the main main.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she's like the main main.

Speaker 1:

I feel like they're both main characters, right.

Speaker 2:

But it's kind of like the first movie centered around Blake and her.

Speaker 1:

Spoiler alert.

Speaker 2:

Blake and her twin.

Speaker 1:

What do you think the plot is for this?

Speaker 2:

I don't know If you just had to guess. If I had to guess, I want to say there's some sort of Anna Ferris' character.

Speaker 1:

Kendrick Right.

Speaker 2:

That felt weird coming out Anna Ferris' character Anna Kendrick. Right, that felt weird. Coming out Anna Fair characters Anna Kendrick.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And her like working together, like they're like frenemies that do a thing together.

Speaker 1:

Like a buddy cop. I kind of think it might be something where one of them goes missing and I think it's might be funnier if Blake goes missing and Anna has to find her.

Speaker 2:

That's exactly what happened in the first movie.

Speaker 1:

It is. Yes, I just remember Anna making cooking videos.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because she went missing and she was like making food for her husband and her kid.

Speaker 1:

And then they fell in love.

Speaker 2:

We'll find you, we'll find you.

Speaker 1:

Right. So maybe it's the opposite this time. Maybe Anna gets abducted.

Speaker 2:

And they need her special set of skills so they get her out of the crazy, out of the insane asylum or wherever she is.

Speaker 1:

I need to rewatch this. I do not remember an insane asylum. I remember the twin and they killed their parents and she drowns her twin. Spoiler alert again. I remember the twin and they killed their parents and she drowns her twin. Spoiler alert again. I remember that part. I remember Anna's YouTube videos.

Speaker 2:

You remember how it ends. They're like having a knife fight in the house and Anna was recording the whole thing of her, like confessing that she was. Oh, yes, and then they take her away.

Speaker 1:

Okay, to an insane asylum.

Speaker 2:

That's what I believe happened. Yeah, and then she's her away.

Speaker 1:

Okay, to an insane asylum. That's what I believe happened, yeah. And then she's like Not just jail Prison.

Speaker 2:

But she, anna Kendrick, doesn't stay with her person, that guy either.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't think he's going to be in it.

Speaker 2:

Right Nor.

Speaker 1:

What else was I going to predict?

Speaker 2:

Is there a trailer?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

I literally just saw this thing. I can look it up, see if there's a capital trailer, because the trailer for the new jurassic world movie comes out tomorrow the way I haven't. I saw it's with jonathan bailey and scarlett johansson steamy, fun, steamy.

Speaker 1:

I don't think that they've had a trailer. Okay, because the one I'm seeing looks like a fan made back at last year, like mid last year. So, okay, that tracks, we will update you if we see a trailer. But I was like, wow, it was the post. Was Blake doing a collab post with whoever made it? And the comments did not disappoint. Oh, really. They were like why are you posting this?

Speaker 2:

We don't care, Girl stop.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but I liked the first movie Apparently.

Speaker 2:

I don't remember it, but you have no recollection of the movie at all.

Speaker 1:

I will rewatch it, but I know that when I saw it I liked it.

Speaker 2:

Okay. That's all that matters and that's all. That is all that matters. Period. This has been 11 minutes. Thank you for watching. No, I have more things. I didn't know if you had anything. Well, oh yeah, we didn't talk about this. So britney 2.0 put out a song, another song, oh, and it sounds. Have you heard it?

Speaker 1:

it sounds I have not just like like it.

Speaker 2:

The chorus is a Britney Spears rip.

Speaker 1:

What's her name?

Speaker 2:

Tate McRae.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I thought. Sorry, I thought you meant the girl who did the vocals for Britney Spears all those years.

Speaker 2:

We're talking about Britney 2.0, which is Tate McRae. Tate McRae has a new song.

Speaker 1:

The drivers, the sports car, sports car yes.

Speaker 2:

I did Drivers.

Speaker 1:

I did the take talk dance to it.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

I liked it. It's Brittany I don't get the music video but I don't either.

Speaker 2:

She just likes being sexy for sure, and you would do.

Speaker 1:

Brittany it is. And I love that Do you think? Who do you think is more like Brittany, Tate or Addison?

Speaker 2:

You keep bringing Addison into this and I don't think that Addison you don't? I think everyone compares them I think tate mccray okay, okay, okay diet pepsi you don't think is britney coded addison has more of like, I think, the britney look yeah, and she has a southern accent, right yeah, it's the air about her yeah but tate as a performer and in music videos yes is giving britney and tate dances, like britney did once and she doesn't anymore. Yeah, tate, tate dances like Britney during the Britney album era.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. I saw Tate's performance on the California wildfire thing and I was like cute, but I wish they were doing their songs.

Speaker 2:

What did she sing?

Speaker 1:

I knew you were going to ask that. Well, don't dream it over. Oh, she's saying you broke me first and covers don't dream it's over. Is you broke me first, her song I don't know you broke me what's the second song?

Speaker 2:

is that the?

Speaker 1:

don't dream, it's over hey, now, hey, yes that's what I tuned into. Her singing got it. I didn't hear the other one. It must be her because they said that and then and covers. But like I'm trying to see, it's okay, I'm okay a hundred percent sports car. I'm trying to see her dance two hands and she just was standing singing she needed a body break truly, but I do like. I do like the song. Yeah, there is drama with pandora and disney. Actually, the drama is with disney, pandora's collection and the public oh, okay so pandora put out a line of Disney princess inspired rings.

Speaker 2:

Okay, inspired, okay yeah.

Speaker 1:

And the people are unhappy, so I'll show you some of them. But apparently everyone's like you got these all wrong and they're redesigning them basically. Oh, the public is the public is, and really the issue is, they made some of them gold that should have been silver and vice versa.

Speaker 2:

Based on the princess.

Speaker 1:

Just like yeah, so.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let me just ask you, okay, if you were to make a gold or a silver ring for Cinderella One, two, three.

Speaker 1:

Silver. Okay, I get it. I get what you're saying then Okay. That's actually really funny.

Speaker 2:

Because I think Belle would be gold.

Speaker 1:

This is Cinderella, or this is Cinderella's yeah.

Speaker 2:

I disagree.

Speaker 1:

It makes no sense.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't, you're right.

Speaker 1:

First of all, blue is a cool tone. Well, this stone is a cool toned stone, so therefore, why is it on a gold ring? I'm sure that some people might like that, but in just aesthetics, if you're going to pick a cool toned stone, it should be in a silver setting.

Speaker 2:

Totally.

Speaker 1:

So number one, that's the wrong. What would you think for Jasmine Three, two, one Gold Nope, it's silver.

Speaker 2:

But that okay, what no? No, I disagree yeah, big disagree.

Speaker 1:

And so someone I saw. They were like I understand where they're going with the blue because that is on her headband or whatever, but again, everything she wears is gold. Her hoops are gold, all the shoes the one for a bell is for Belle comes in both, so why wouldn't they just do that for all of them?

Speaker 2:

Why does Belle get both?

Speaker 1:

I don't know, but Belle should be gold 100%. This is the silver one.

Speaker 2:

No no.

Speaker 1:

Ew.

Speaker 2:

So is it the same ring, just in gold?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Belle 100% yeah.

Speaker 1:

Let me see what else we have. Tiana is green and silver.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So they got that one right. The Ariel one is silver, which I am not mad about. No, I feel like that I think it could be. Honestly. No, I think it's silver, because she wouldn't wear gold with her red hair. No, right, no, but it is a opal. It's opal.

Speaker 2:

Pearl or pearl inside of like a shell really. I'll show you, please do, I'd wear it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, cute, cute cute, cute, I like the scallop diamonds?

Speaker 2:

yes, they're iridescent, which is cute.

Speaker 1:

Uh, that one's 88 honestly not that bad. What would you think rapunzel's would be? Probably gold yes, I could see it being both, though, okay, I don't feel strongly, it's pink, what?

Speaker 2:

color are the stones?

Speaker 1:

They're pink.

Speaker 2:

Maybe a rose gold would have been cute for her I like that because she wears pink snow white I probably do silver hers is silver.

Speaker 1:

It kind of it's her bow, but to me this is giving mini mouse oh 100.

Speaker 2:

I would have said that's mini mouse inspired.

Speaker 1:

That's what I thought uh, it's like a pink, a pink gem and then red bow, which I don't hate, but it also it doesn't give me what An apple. No, you can't put an apple on a ring. What would you put? I guess that is kind of hard.

Speaker 2:

That is kind of hard.

Speaker 1:

What else is Snow White known for?

Speaker 2:

The dwarfs.

Speaker 1:

The seven little men on there.

Speaker 2:

I guess it is her bow and her hair, but you just don't think of.

Speaker 1:

I think that's it they have a which one's your fave. What would I wear? What would you wear?

Speaker 2:

Based on the way they look, not the princess.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, I would wear the snow white bow. Yeah, I would wear the Cinderella and I would wear Sleeping Beauty. Okay, I would wear Jasmine. If it it were gold, I don't think I'd wear it silver, yeah, but honestly, they're not. The designs aren't aren't bad per se, it's just the colors. And I mean people. I looked, I searched on tiktok. There were so many videos really of people being up in arms. I I don't personally care, but like it's not hurting me either way, I do think it's silly that they did get them wrong, but I just thought it was a funny little.

Speaker 1:

It is like drama of on Tik TOK that no one else is getting. Whoa, whoa, whoa. No one else is getting this, like surf this content, but me somehow.

Speaker 2:

But yeah that's so interesting.

Speaker 1:

Have you ever had a pizza from Dobrik's?

Speaker 2:

No, I haven't. But when I drive by it every time I'm like, oh, okay, also the pink taco closed. Did you know that?

Speaker 1:

No, but I never got to be there, so good.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, dobrik's.

Speaker 1:

Well, I learned something that has kind of ruined it for me, but I I need to do some investigation to.

Speaker 2:

You need to look for yourself.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Do tell.

Speaker 1:

I heard today, miss Tana Mongeau said that it's actually a ghost kitchen for Prince Street, and that makes sense because their little pepperonis are very circular like Prince Street. So I need to find this out. And Josh, like Prince Street, is like a New York place that is here, and so he has had it a bunch more than I have. I feel like we should go investigate and let everyone know, but I think that's annoying if it is Agreed.

Speaker 1:

Because he markets it like he came up with this place, and he's first of all. It doesn't make sense that it's not Chicago style, because he's from Chicago, so why is it not deep dish? I know people here wouldn't really be eating deep dish, but their main should be deep dish and then have something crust or whatever he is chicago style, for sure they might, to be honest, haven't been there.

Speaker 1:

they might have an option of chicago style, but they're um ones that have those little pepperonis and the hot honey on it, like that's what they are pushing to. The public Got it. And now that I think about it, when I've seen people eat it, it does give Prince Street vibes.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

And I just don't like that. Yeah, that's.

Speaker 2:

We're going to have to investigate and find out.

Speaker 1:

That's it. I know I wish it was closer because we could just get it on Thursday. I mean we probably could order it. I don't know if that's a thing you can do.

Speaker 2:

It's far though it's like in Hollywood.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's next to a salad ranch.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll be there someday. I can go the distance. I will find my way, if I can be strong, I know every mile will be worth my while.

Speaker 1:

I would go most anywhere to feel like I belong. Why is he so far back there? He has had enough of you. Okay, we decided we're going to do another Buzzfeed quiz because that sounds fun to us. So this one is called. It's a very long title, so get ready. If you think you remember the biggest pop culture events of the past 50 years, think again, because this trivia test is about to seriously stump you.

Speaker 2:

Let's go.

Speaker 1:

Okay. With 2025 getting off to a bit of a rocky start, I've recently become super nostalgic for the iconic pop culture moments that define the past few decades. Who doesn't love thinking about simpler times? Am I right? I want to work at BuzzFeed in this department?

Speaker 2:

Yes, like how do I have to talk to help me?

Speaker 1:

I want to make BuzzFeed quizzes.

Speaker 2:

I'll find out who the hell does it.

Speaker 1:

Amazing. Okay, Number one. Let's start out with a pretty easy one. In what year did Kanye West interrupt Taylor Swift's Taylor Swift at the VMAs? Do you want the four or do you want to guess first?

Speaker 2:

My immediate gut said 2009, but I don't think that's it.

Speaker 1:

That is an option. We have 2009, 10, and 11. No, I think it was nine. First of all, they gave you two 2010s, which seems like one of them might be the right answer, but maybe that is a trick or someone just messed messed up let's see you want 2009 I think it is 2009 right, correct.

Speaker 1:

September 2009 and and I go back to, I thought it was december. Wait, is it back to december about this moment? Is this just saying like she was feeling sad about it in december, but it happened in september diane? Do you not know what? Back to December about this moment? Is this just saying like she was feeling sad about it in December, but it happened in?

Speaker 2:

September, Allison Diane. Do you not know what back to December is about?

Speaker 1:

It's Taylor Lautner, but I thought it was him consoling her on this night.

Speaker 2:

He doesn't console her on that night. It's his biggest regret.

Speaker 1:

And I go back to December all the time.

Speaker 2:

When she broke up with him.

Speaker 1:

Oh sad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

What a guy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

He did say that, that he regrets not stepping in, but he couldn't hear what he said.

Speaker 2:

He didn't know what was going on.

Speaker 1:

Okay, how long has it been since Britney Spears shaved her head?

Speaker 2:

2007.

Speaker 1:

Okay, but you have to do math, because this is 17 years, 18 years, 19 years or 20 years, so it's 2007. 2017. 2017. Years, so it's 2007, 2017, 2027 minus two. Wait, yeah, so 18, 18 years, 28 correct february 2007. More importantly though, what did your? What year?

Speaker 2:

did britney's first single come out 1998.

Speaker 1:

Okay, correct. Wow, 27 years ago, yeah, whoa. How long has it been since the music, since the greatest musical. Let me start over. How long has it been since the greatest decom of all time, dropped high school musical.

Speaker 2:

We're all in this together.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's more math, it's either 16, 17, 18, or 19 years. I want to say this was like 2000.

Speaker 2:

Five.

Speaker 1:

It can't be 20 years, so it has to be less than 2005. So it has to be 2004 at least.

Speaker 2:

Whoa, oh my gosh. So you want to try 19? Correct January 20, oh my God. So let's, you want to?

Speaker 1:

try 19?. Correct January 20th 2006. What Did we do? The right math with the wrong years. Yeah, yeah, right, I'm not an actuary. No, no, no, I'll tell you that. Do you remember what year Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy? I sure don't. So when Netflix got involved, Well, netflix had been out, just as DVD delivery, for a few years before this.

Speaker 2:

Blockbuster could have bought them too. Did you know that they had an opportunity to buy them and they passed? I'm going to say Blockbuster Does it have the years.

Speaker 1:

It does.

Speaker 2:

Give me the options for this one 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

Speaker 1:

I was going to say blockbuster. Does it have the years?

Speaker 2:

It does Give me the options for this one 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. I was going to say eight, honestly Okay, but that might be too early.

Speaker 1:

I think you should go with your first cut. Eight Wrong 2010.

Speaker 2:

Okay, wow.

Speaker 1:

And I want to know when Netflix started.

Speaker 2:

I was babysitting when Netflix was around.

Speaker 1:

I remember my grandma used to get the DVDs.

Speaker 2:

You know what I loved? It was Redbox. I loved going to Redbox. Oh yeah, it was so fun.

Speaker 1:

Netflix was founded in August of 1997, and it began the DVD rental service. What so wait? That was how many years. That was a while 14 years ago. No, no, no wait, that was how many years that was a while 14 years ago.

Speaker 2:

No, no, block but. Or. Netflix started in 97, but they didn't start sending dvds in 97 because there weren't dvds in 1997 1997 netflix started as dvd rental service that charged per rental.

Speaker 1:

98 netflix mailed its first dvd beetlejuice, to a customer.

Speaker 2:

Whoa DVDs have been around since I was seven years old.

Speaker 1:

Apparently. And then in 99, it introduced the subscription and then 2000, they introduced a personalized movie recommendation system. Do you remember the quiz you could take to help you find something to watch? Why did they take that away?

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

It used to be like what do you feel like watching tonight? And you could click to help you find something to watch. Why did they take that away? I don't know. It used to be like what do you feel like watching tonight?

Speaker 1:

and you could click that, yeah, and then you would answer questions do you feel like comedy or drama or thriller or whatever? And you'd answer, and then it'd be like are you feeling, do you want something from this time or this time? Are you, do you, are you interested in romance? And then it would would give you a movie recommendation to watch. Such a great thing. Why aren't they doing that still?

Speaker 2:

I don't know yeah.

Speaker 1:

I bet someone has one made on the internet. I'm sure how long ago did Apple release the Macintosh? This is in years. More math, you guys. This is in years, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what's the longest 41 is the longest I think 41 correct 1984 yeah and what year did beyonce release her first solo album? I remember walking through the glenbrook mall and there was a big poster of it what song? Wasn't it the still is it the silver top, or she's going like this well, this is a performance, so I don't know.

Speaker 1:

The picture on here is like a live performance her first album?

Speaker 2:

is that what the question was? Her first solo album her first solo album was in 2004. Five wait, I was at the glenbrook mall so 2005.

Speaker 1:

Wrong 2003. Now I'm going to look up.

Speaker 2:

If I were a boy? Or was it to the left, to the left? Yeah, I had that on.

Speaker 1:

Dangerously in love. So it was the silver, yeah, and songs are this had crazy in love. Baby boy, Me, myself and I naughty girl hip hop star. Yes, Wait, yeah, that's how you like it be with you signs.

Speaker 2:

Oh, this did not have. If I were a boy, that was the next one correct such a good song, so good okay how long has it been since vine died? Years again years. Well, this is like six, seven, eight, nine yeah, well, I think that it happened in 2014, maybe 2013 so that would be how many 11 12 years so it has to be less than that, has to be at least nine years. Nine, ten, eleven or twelve.

Speaker 1:

The options are six, seven, eight and nine oh.

Speaker 2:

Nine.

Speaker 1:

Wrong Eight years 2017.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, I did think it. I thought yeah, 2014, 2015. And what year did Lady Gaga wear her famous meat dress?

Speaker 2:

Is 2005 on there.

Speaker 1:

No 2009,. 10, 11, 12 I feel like nine, oh I was in LA.

Speaker 2:

2009 dress Is 2005 on there, no 2009,. 10, 11, 12. I feel like 2009. No, I was living in LA.

Speaker 1:

I want to say it was 10. Correct 2010 VMAs Is that when she did the performance of the blood Paparazzi yeah. Iconic performance, Honestly top five. Incredible.

Speaker 2:

Incredible.

Speaker 1:

Wow, this is something you might not know actually.

Speaker 2:

Oh great.

Speaker 1:

How long has it been since Star Wars came out? I thought it was Star Trek.

Speaker 2:

How many years it wants to know years.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so it came out in 19.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you do know 70.

Speaker 2:

What are my options in the 40s?

Speaker 1:

44, 46, 48, 50. I want to say 50.

Speaker 2:

I think it's 46.

Speaker 1:

Well, let it be known. I said 50. Okay, it's 48. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Right in the middle.

Speaker 1:

May 25th 1977. And guess what?

Speaker 2:

You still don't care.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, I don't right now, but I did promise that I would watch the movies and I will be starting from the beginning. Is this because at least yeah, at least harrison ford's hot in them totally, absolutely, yeah, yeah and that's yeah's going to start me off and then hopefully I'll enjoy the movie.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

But I did pronounce that I would do that Good, so I'll let you know when that happens, did you?

Speaker 2:

also see that finally they've repaired the cannons on the Rise of the Resistance ride. No, you remember the part where you go through and those cannons shoot, like through the huge windows, and you just like go past them.

Speaker 1:

And they used to come up and go back. And then they haven't for over a year. Yes, I did see a tiktok about that. They're working again.

Speaker 1:

Whoa also side note, completely off this subject, but I started a new book I saw and it's actually the third book in the series of the fourth wing and it just came out. So, everyone, if you follow me, if you want to follow me on goodreads uh, you should, and I'll let you know what I think. But I just I've only read 50 pages, so I'm not that really in it yet, but I wanted to let everyone know that I started how are those first 50 pages treating you? They're good. Okay, I honestly think you might be interested in this book because they're gay sex. There's not a gay sex.

Speaker 2:

I don't give a fuck.

Speaker 1:

I've told you, this is the one where it's kind of a mixture between, like, harry Potter and game of Thrones Not trying, oh, this is not the like fairy smut.

Speaker 1:

No, this is kids who are well, well they're, I think they're young adults, but they go to a school, a magic school, where they learn how to uh, train and ride dragons, oh, and their dragons like pick them, basically, and then they're bonded to their dragons and they but there is like romance there is a couple in it, but it's not like that. So the only magical part is that, like they can do magic, but it's not fairies. So the game of Thrones part is obviously the dragons. The Harry Potter thing is like they're at this like big magic school, but it is like real people.

Speaker 2:

What do you mean?

Speaker 1:

They're humans.

Speaker 2:

Like Harry Potter.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

But there's fictional creatures.

Speaker 1:

Dragons. That's it. There's no warlock.

Speaker 2:

Like trolls.

Speaker 1:

I haven't come across any trolls In the third book of the fourth wing.

Speaker 2:

There's no trolls.

Speaker 1:

There's not been trolls yet.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

But there's like a war happening. It's not as girly.

Speaker 2:

Is it like Middle Earth?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

Is that Like?

Speaker 2:

it's the United States or like it's this world.

Speaker 1:

It's its own world.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, so in many ways like Middle Earth.

Speaker 1:

Sure, and it could be a little bit of Lord of the Rings, because there are things that they're searching for.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And I just think maybe you should give it a little shot. You can borrow my book, you can.

Speaker 2:

I'll have to Do. You like to read it?

Speaker 1:

We've never spoken about reading.

Speaker 2:

I do not like reading. You like to?

Speaker 1:

listen. Okay, why don't you give it a little listen?

Speaker 2:

I do have a credit in audio audible.

Speaker 1:

Listen to a couple of chapters and just see if anything interests you in it.

Speaker 2:

I was going to listen to Brittany's autobiography again, but I guess I could try this Again is crazy.

Speaker 1:

I have to take notes For again is crazy.

Speaker 2:

I have to take notes for just knowing things Okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, this next question you better get right. Okay, when did Titanic come out?

Speaker 2:

1998, 1997, 1997, 1997.

Speaker 1:

Okay, in my head I said 97, and then I thought I was just wrong. Oh my gosh, you really stressed me out, that's true.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, close one.

Speaker 1:

How long ago did the viral Harlem shake trend gain popularity? Long ago, so this is in years. This was in college, so what's the Harlem shake? Where you would stand really still. We just we just redid this for fun. You sit, you stand really still until the beat drops and then you dance all crazy. Do you remember this?

Speaker 2:

I have no recollection.

Speaker 1:

No one was doing that out here.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

So in college it would have been like 2011,. I feel like, because it wasn't, I graduated technically in 12.

Speaker 2:

It's like this thing.

Speaker 1:

Well, that is the Bernie oh. So no, okay. And it's weird because the Harlem Shake is its own dance move. That's like this yeah. But and that is separate from the song Harlem Shake in which this trend happened, and it is confusing and I never really understood that.

Speaker 2:

Was this pre whip and nene?

Speaker 1:

yes, this was when we were in college wasn't whipping nene also in college I feel like college was like.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I'm thinking of something high school apple bottom jeans boots with the fur.

Speaker 1:

High school that's high school. That's senior year of school. I want to say this was in 2011. How many years ago was that?

Speaker 2:

Well, you take the one you carried over 14.

Speaker 1:

Dang it 12 years. Okay, so that was 2013.

Speaker 2:

2013?.

Speaker 1:

So this was my super senior year.

Speaker 2:

Super senior year.

Speaker 1:

Potterheads.

Speaker 2:

Here we go.

Speaker 1:

When did the first Harry Potter movie come out?

Speaker 2:

1990. Super senior year Potter heads, here we go. When did the first Harry Potter movie?

Speaker 1:

come out 1990, 2000, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003.

Speaker 2:

I think it was 2000.

Speaker 1:

No 2001. Forgive me for this one. How long has it been since my space was the most popular social network? So what we know is that facebook was founded in 2004. I know that from the hundreds of times I've watched the social network, and so my space would have been its peak right before that, right yeah so that would be 2004 was 20 years, so our options are 16, 17, 18, and 19 okay, so it's been 21 years since then, since 2004 right, so they overlapped a little let's say 19 yeah 17.

Speaker 1:

It was the most popular social networking site from 2005 until 2008, so I guess what we're saying is facebook. Obviously silly us. Facebook for, or yeah?

Speaker 2:

college students.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so it wasn't the most popular. I got one, I guess, because I was a freshman in 2004. We were both, so I think by senior year I might've gotten one, cause I feel like the first couple of years yeah, it was college my sister had one.

Speaker 2:

My sister had one and she gave me one with her second cause you had to have an email address that was like to a college, yeah. So I had one early. Nice, yeah, yeah, I think I got it probably senior year and then so different than you could send badges and quizzes and have a top 10 on Facebook. On Facebook, it was 10. Or was it five, I don't know my God, I was changing out all the time.

Speaker 1:

The fights.

Speaker 2:

Heather, I know you're listening to this. Do you remember how passive, aggressive we would be, moving each other from like certain spots? On that, I'm so sorry, wait.

Speaker 1:

MySpace or Facebook.

Speaker 2:

Facebook had it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I wasn't doing that, I wasn't. I had one, probably my senior year, but you can collect buttons.

Speaker 2:

You could send people buttons.

Speaker 1:

I wasn't like, really that in it until college? I don't think Okay. But yeah, the top eight on MySpace was similar. Yeah, what was I going to say? Oh, someone a listener sent me a link to Jesse Eisenberg being such a gem of a guy in an interview.

Speaker 2:

Such a gem bro.

Speaker 1:

No, a gem of a guy.

Speaker 2:

Oh gem.

Speaker 1:

Because he sorry gem.

Speaker 2:

Gem.

Speaker 1:

Uncut gem I oh, he was the interviewer was like how do you like feel about being associated with Mark Zuckerberg? And he was basically like not great, like he's not doing great things.

Speaker 2:

Period.

Speaker 1:

And I was like that's right.

Speaker 2:

He stands on truth.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he was like this guy's like has the most money in the world and like what's he doing with it? Yeah, and I was like that's what we like to hear.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, jesse, that's a point for you, for me.

Speaker 1:

Thank you In his eye, you have, I'm not Okay, Finally. Vogue by Madonna is one of the best music videos of all time. When did it come out?

Speaker 2:

1985.

Speaker 1:

87, 88, 89, 90.

Speaker 2:

87. I'm going to say 87. I'm going to go out on a limb and say 87. Wrong 1990.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say 87. Wrong 1990. The year of our birth. Yes, we got seven out of 15, which is an 83%, which isn't bad.

Speaker 2:

It's a, b. No, that's not bad.

Speaker 1:

It's a B.

Speaker 2:

Do you know the whole? Is it the bridge of that song?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, do you know those words? We did it in show choir, so I do.

Speaker 2:

And I just want to tell us Vogue and Show Choir.

Speaker 1:

Come on, vogue Picturing.

Speaker 2:

Show Choir moves. You want me to do it for you? Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Greta Garbo, anne Munro, dietrich and DiMaggio. Marlon Brando, jimmy Dean, on the cover of a magazine Grace Kelly, harlow Jean. Picture of a beauty queen, jean Kelly, fred Astaire, ginger Rogers danced on air. They had style, they had grace. Greta Gar a stare. Ginger rogers danced on air. They had style, they had grace. Gretta garpo gave good face. Lauren catherine, lana too, betty davis, we love you. Ladies with an attitude, fellas that were in the mood. Don't just stand there, let's get to it. Strike a pose. There's nothing to it.

Speaker 2:

Vogue, that's a party trick do you remember the dance though?

Speaker 1:

oh, no, sure, sure don't.

Speaker 2:

I also am hearing it with show choir vocals.

Speaker 1:

It's all very up here. No, because it was like Sexy cooler. You spoke it yeah, does this exist on the internet. I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

What were you called the Marian Warblers?

Speaker 1:

I wish we were called the 26th Street Innovations Actually no, we were not At the time we were just Innovations. But here's the thing what 26th Street? Let me go back Let me tell you the history of my school, which is very historical in many ways. We have the sixth largest gymnasium in the country in the country. Um, so we had a famous show choir called the 26th street singers and everyone knew them all over the country. Oh yeah, that was like in the seventies, eighties nineties yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then that um teacher died and the new one came in and it was 26 years old, still for a little bit. And then it changed to innovations.

Speaker 2:

He's changing things up and there was a girl group called the sweet inspirations. Did you have to audition for that?

Speaker 1:

You had audition for both.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

And then they. It was another reinvention after I graduated high school, and then it became the 26th Street Innovations.

Speaker 2:

They married the two yeah.

Speaker 1:

Got it, so that is.

Speaker 2:

So does Vogue by the Marion. Innovations exist on the internet.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you can see Haley, for sure.

Speaker 2:

You're in it.

Speaker 1:

I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

So what years were you in it? No, this Vogue this number?

Speaker 1:

Oh, I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

Look up this number specifically.

Speaker 1:

I will, but I don't think so. No one was putting things on YouTube in 2004.

Speaker 2:

No, now Imagine someone like you whose parents recorded it. We're like let's put this on YouTube.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you want to see like anyone doing it? Yes, okay, show, I got to go to YouTube.

Speaker 2:

No, I want to see the Marian Warblers doing vote.

Speaker 1:

I don't think they are doing it right now.

Speaker 2:

No, what? Sometimes in our friendship we come to these crossroads where we really think we understand what the other one is saying. But we are on two completely different paths.

Speaker 1:

I don't understand. True, or?

Speaker 2:

false. You were in a show choir in high school called the marion innovations. You were the innovations. You guys did a. You guys did a number called Vogue by.

Speaker 1:

Madonna yes.

Speaker 2:

I'm asking if that performance from whenever you, if someone's parent recorded it and then, maybe down these years that child who was your peer posted it on YouTube.

Speaker 1:

I will look, but I do not think so.

Speaker 2:

You said I don't think they're doing it right now.

Speaker 1:

I thought you meant like is a kid from the current show choir also doing Vogue and posting it.

Speaker 2:

Imagine and you were going to look that up. Well, I guess I'll check.

Speaker 1:

I can't spell Vogue, no, but literally here is Haley doing Little Shop of Horror. Slash Zombie Jamboree in 2015 years ago.

Speaker 2:

Wow.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and Transylvania Mania and the Ballad of Sweeney Todd. You guys, if you go look this up, do not tell Hayley that I took you here, because she will be mad at me.

Speaker 2:

Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd oh and.

Speaker 1:

Thriller. I'm not seeing it. Okay, well, that's a bummer, but there's lots of 26th Street innovations if you guys want to go look.

Speaker 2:

I know that there was like a lot of Homestead on YouTube.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, homestead Carol.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, those were my friends. What's the?

Speaker 1:

other one up north-ish with a C. I don't know.

Speaker 2:

We can talk about it offline because I'm sure the Midwest show choir seems hot and it is what inspired Glee, by the way, you guys.

Speaker 1:

Yes, they compete in Indiana a lot.

Speaker 2:

I was on an episode where they were in and one of the show choirs was Fort Wayne.

Speaker 1:

True. Also, how do I keep forgetting? Have I talked to you about how my CrossFit coach was also?

Speaker 2:

in Glee. No, we've talked about that, okay.

Speaker 1:

I need to find.

Speaker 2:

He was a dancer, though I was a football player.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I need to find something where I can see you both.

Speaker 2:

I wonder, ask him if next time you think about it. Ask him if he was in the um the Greece episode.

Speaker 1:

I'll text him. I used a lot of dancers and I was in that uh scene for Summer Lovin' that that number scene for summer loving that?

Speaker 2:

I will ask summer loving?

Speaker 1:

happy, okay, everyone.

Speaker 2:

Well, sorry about this episode listen we didn't want to let you down on your commutes and your monday listen, but it wasn't our strongest.

Speaker 1:

But we're happy to have spent it with you and because we're pre-recording, we can't talk about the uh super bowl. So why don't we just give our prediction right now for the super bowl? That's already passed. Yes, what we think happened, and we'll see if we were right I think that do you know who's playing cardinals?

Speaker 2:

one because taylor swift right.

Speaker 1:

Do you know who's playing?

Speaker 2:

I know that Taylor Swift's boyfriend's team is playing.

Speaker 1:

Which is the?

Speaker 2:

Something Cardinals.

Speaker 1:

St Louis.

Speaker 2:

St Louis, cardinals Well.

Speaker 1:

Wait.

Speaker 2:

What.

Speaker 1:

Is it St Louis? Now you've confused me.

Speaker 2:

The St Louis Cardinals, missouri.

Speaker 1:

This is the dumbest conversation.

Speaker 2:

Your number one sports podcast everyone.

Speaker 1:

I'm crying again, kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2:

There's no bird in this.

Speaker 1:

I can't believe that I let you invade my brain like that.

Speaker 2:

We're allowed to have a football team called the Chiefs.

Speaker 1:

Still, yeah, I think that this slipped through the cracks.

Speaker 2:

It certainly has.

Speaker 1:

The St Louis Cardinals are the baseball team.

Speaker 2:

Right, so you weren't wrong.

Speaker 1:

And there is the Arizona Cardinals. Are they a team?

Speaker 2:

So in the Super Bowl is the Kansas City Chiefs versus the South Dakota Lions, not the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 1:

The Wildcats Versus the.

Speaker 2:

Wildcats basketball team.

Speaker 1:

Let me keep guessing. The Chicago Bears no.

Speaker 2:

but that is a football team, so that's good.

Speaker 1:

Keep guessing the Chicago bears no, but that is a football team, so I know.

Speaker 2:

I know some of them like the Dallas Cowboys the Indianapolis Colts. I know them. Of course I have a brick.

Speaker 1:

Okay, keep going.

Speaker 2:

So it is the Kansas city chiefs versus the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 1:

No, but right side of the country.

Speaker 2:

Oh, oh. Is it against the Los Angeles chargers?

Speaker 1:

That's the other side of the country and that's a no.

Speaker 2:

Baltimore isn't Maryland, right, maryland? Um, okay, so it's the New York jets.

Speaker 1:

No, but good.

Speaker 2:

It's the Miami whales.

Speaker 1:

No, it's not the Miami Whales. Okay, honestly, they should do that.

Speaker 2:

Well, it's the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And also.

Speaker 1:

What's their basketball team?

Speaker 2:

The basketball team.

Speaker 1:

Of Miami In Florida.

Speaker 2:

The Miami Heats Good.

Speaker 1:

Plural Good job. Many of them. Okay, keep going. Okay there, florida, the Miami Heats Good, plural, good job.

Speaker 2:

Many of them.

Speaker 1:

Okay, keep going.

Speaker 2:

Okay, there's also a team that's a lion, I'm sure.

Speaker 1:

Detroit.

Speaker 2:

Detroit Lions.

Speaker 1:

Okay, let me give you the region was the like northeast area.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but it wasn't Washington.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't Washington.

Speaker 2:

They were in the game before this to get in and they lost.

Speaker 1:

What color is their team? Um like teal, teal and white.

Speaker 2:

So it's not the Miami dolphins.

Speaker 1:

No, they also have, I guess.

Speaker 2:

All right, giants, is it the giants?

Speaker 1:

No, yeah, it's like teal.

Speaker 2:

Oh, the Denver Broncos. No, that's the wrong side and that's orange. Teal.

Speaker 1:

Teal. It's an animal.

Speaker 2:

It's an animal, a teal animal.

Speaker 1:

Well, the animal is not teal.

Speaker 2:

Like the Huntington Rams or something. It's the Rams.

Speaker 1:

Huntington yeah, what the fuck is Hunting teal?

Speaker 2:

Like the Huntington Rams or something. It's the Rams Huntington. Yeah, what the?

Speaker 1:

fuck is Huntington the Rams.

Speaker 2:

No, oh, it's not the Rams.

Speaker 1:

It's not the Rams.

Speaker 2:

All right, what's the mascot?

Speaker 1:

It's. If I tell you, then it gives it away.

Speaker 2:

Oh, the mascot is what it is. Yeah, so it is like, I don't know, like the fighting timbers, who is it?

Speaker 1:

Oh, I thought you were so close.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

Northeast.

Speaker 2:

Okay, Northeast.

Speaker 1:

So to my brain that means you said pretty much everywhere around them. You said New York, you said New Jersey, you said Washington, you said the thing that's crazy about this conversation right now is that the Super Bowl is done. People are listening to this being like we don't care.

Speaker 2:

Okay, just tell me.

Speaker 1:

It's the Philadelphia Eagles, the.

Speaker 2:

Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 1:

Not the Miami Whales, no it is not. Okay, well, I think that the Eagles won because the Chiefs have been there so many times. They got. I think that they got comfortable, but they got there and they relaxed a little bit and they were like we've won.

Speaker 2:

Now, as someone who doesn't know anything about the sports, how well did the Eagles do this season?

Speaker 1:

You know what I don't know?

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

But they made it to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:

Good for them and good for the other guys.

Speaker 1:

Which one do you think won?

Speaker 2:

The which one do you think?

Speaker 1:

won the Kansas City Chiefs. Okay, well, I guess everyone already knows this.

Speaker 2:

Correct, so congratulations to the winners.

Speaker 1:

Who won out of the two of us? We'll see.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 1:

Thanks for listening, and we have one more prerecorded podcast, but that is with Angela. No Will, that have come out already no so you get to hear angela come back. We'll talk about our thoughts on pretty much everything. We'll talk about oscar predictions oscar predictions.
