Is it March 3rd?
Speaker 1is it march 3rd? It is march 3rd get a good look at this apartment. Oh, soak it all in.
Speaker 2It's about to be gone ready yeah, welcome back to the a-list podcast with allison and alex. I'm allison, I'm alex. What's up?
Speaker 1well, a lot.
Speaker 2Oh my god, excuse me this doesn't feel for some reason.
Speaker 1This doesn't feel real and it feels like we're, like we didn't it's also because we were talking so much right before we started this so we didn't. There was no like time to like. I was just like, and record Is mine recording.
Speaker 2It is. But all of a sudden I feel like such a weird, like imposter, like I'm acting Also because I just thought about that show that I watched, the Kristen Bell Nobody wants this when they're doing their podcast like I feel like I'm imitating them acting in the show. It doesn't matter, but that felt weird for a second and now I'm good. Okay, now I'm good and wait, uh, okay.
Speaker 1So wow, lots to update on you. Literally I thought you were gonna come back so tan from mexico I was really good at my sunscreen application. Congratulations.
Speaker 2And I was wearing 50 because Don't they say anything.
Speaker 1Over 30 is like BS.
Speaker 2I don't know, do they? There's 100.
Speaker 1And I think that means nothing.
Speaker 2Oh, it's just a marketing thing.
Speaker 1Yeah, but good for you.
Speaker 2Well, I was wearing 50 and, honestly, I did get a little burnt on my shoulders. My shoulders are like freckle licious right now, but I like that freckle licious and my face, I feel like, was a little bit more tan. It's like started to go down this week. But yeah, I don't know, I was really good about my sunscreen cause I'm afraid of skin cancer and we know that I'm not literally.
Speaker 1but I mean, wow, you guys did you buy that self-tanning spray, by the way?
Speaker 2no, but I want to. I thought you did that you told me about no, because it was. I was leaving like the next day and there was no time to get it.
Speaker 2Oh, you're right, you're right don't come with me, come on over so hi guys um ali went to mexico I am back from mexico and obviously last week was a little pre-recorded, so now, yeah, it's been a minute back. Let me start from the beginning, I feel so it's great yeah, um, that was my first time to puerto vallarta. Okay, pv beautiful. Yes, so gay, vallarta, okay.
Speaker 1PV.
Speaker 2Beautiful. Yes, so gay had no idea.
Speaker 1Pv's very gay.
Speaker 2Is this just known? Yeah, you knew this A hundred percent. Yeah, had no idea. Literally I just was like, oh, we're going to a different city, like we went to Cabo last time trying out a new city. That's so fun. Going down the streets I was just like wait what? This is so gay. Every street is like. You know, they have hanging signs for things, Drag queens and like Broadway style shows not Broadway shows, but Vaudeville. Yeah, that type of thing for different shows Cabaret.
Speaker 2Cabaret, yeah, those type of things All of it gay. And I was like wait, huh, and we were going to a beach club and so like we me and Josh and our friend Jake got in like at the same time, so we were taken to the house to change and then to the beach club and like I was picturing a beach club from I don't know a movie or I don't know, like rich people with big hats and things, and what I walked into was just men in thongs. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2And I said this is a gay beach club and I was very happy to be there, but I just like had no idea what I was going into and it was so many men, just men. I think that me and Haley and Lacey Cameron's sister, I think those we were the only women that I saw in a radius literally, and we walked into like all of our friends being shwasty already because they had been there for like four hours already.
Soaking it all in post
Speaker 2Okay, okay, okay and we were just like whoa, how do we navigate this? Yeah, we can't get. There's no way to catch up to you, right? Everyone's wild like. One of our friends was vomiting over the like. It was crazy, um, but very beautiful. That was the first day and then we uh, most days we just like got up, we had a lunch, we sat by the pool. But let me tell you, tell me. I have not consumed alcohol like this, I think, ever but did you get sick?
Speaker 1In my life, the last night I did oh the worst time to get it.
Speaker 2I know, but honestly, drinking at the house I never really felt super drunk.
Speaker 1Interesting.
Speaker 2But I was drinking a lot.
Speaker 1Just because it was spaced out. So you just had a consistent buzz going, but I was drinking a lot. Just because it was spaced out, maybe.
Speaker 2The night that we went out to the bars. I felt more drunk then. So I don't know if there's a correlation, but we just had ordered bottles of alcohol, it wasn't anything special, and then we went out. I don't know if the bar drinks were made differently or just like using like really really bad Watered down Alcohol, like really really like cheap, but we weren't drinking like whatever. That. 1942, is that what it is? 46, 42? Don Julio, the big brown bottle. I know that's really expensive. 1942? 1942, don Julio, the big brown bottle. I know that's really expensive. 1942 sounds right, but the big, that big like brown bottle. That's like the bougie bottle. It wasn't like we were drinking that, but we weren't drinking like the worst tequila you could ever drink in life. So I don't know, but I was drinking. I haven't drank like that, I think, ever, and in that many days yeah I am not okay right now, like emotionally I have now recovered.
Speaker 2Physically, okay, good, but emotionally like I'm not okay. I don't again, don't know when the next time I will drink it. It's like I am a changed person. I look back. I looked back after we left because, okay, the last night I'm getting ahead of myself we were taking shots I mean, it was lunchtime, but it was not too long after waking up because we, we didn't have like formal breakfast okay um, we were, you know, going to bed late, waking up like nine, somewhere between nine and ten, and then, uh, lunch was at 11 every day, so we would have lunch and it would be mimosa.
Speaker 1Whoa.
Speaker 2It would be like here's a mimosa or here's like a coffee with Bailey's in it, like it's insane. And then, as soon as it was, as soon as lunch was over and people like were by the pool, immediate tequila shot. It was wild. And and then it was like drinks, drinks, and then an hour later, another tequila shot. It was like so many shots were happening. I think the staff was like these people are insane, like what is happening.
Speaker 2I feel like during the days I wasn't drinking that much because I just like I didn't feel that I needed to because I'm already not a big drinker, but I was playing a part, I feel so by the end of the week caught up to me in the other night, before we left, I woke up in the middle of the night vomiting. Now let me tell you, tell me, I don't like bugs. We know, we know this. Maybe you guys don't know this. I don't like bugs, small creatures, bugs. We know, we know this. Maybe you guys don't know this. I don't like bugs, small creatures, small things that move quickly. I don't like that includes rodents.
Speaker 2That includes cockroaches well, let me get to the cockroach. But first when, when josh was still there, there was a lizard on our bed one night and I didn't like that because it was moving fast. He picked it up and removed it. That was fine. So the night I woke up sick and I just left the lights off and I vomited. And then I saw a figure in the corner Wait, man-sized, small-sized, got it and I said what's that? So I turned on the light and there was a cockroach. And now I'm alone because Josh left on a few days earlier. Yeah, I was alone and I didn't know what to do, right? So I?
Speaker 1Screamed.
Speaker 2No, because it was like 3 am. So I woke up in the middle of the night. There was a glass in the bathroom that I put on top and it was a heavy glass, so it was weighted. I don't think. I didn't think the cockroach could move okay so I just put it there.
Speaker 2I heard giggling outside of my door so I opened and I walked out and I saw who it was. This was not someone that could help me with the cockroach, but I tried anyway. It was Haley and Caleb and they were doing their, their giggling Haley and Caleb thing.
Speaker 1It's 3am.
Speaker 2Everyone's in bed, they sit up, and I said you guys, there's a cockroach, can you help me get it? And they just stared at me and said you know what, never mind. And I just turned and left, and so I just left it under the uh glass and I went back to sleep and then I woke up and it was probably an hour later to throw up again. Oh okay and it was next to the toilet and I just like said we're doing this together.
Speaker 1And it was still there in the cup.
Speaker 2It was still there in the cup and I just vomited next to him and I was like all right, I guess this is what we're doing tonight. And so I just said please be here Like, please don't leave, Please stay under the glass.
Speaker 1Just stay under the glass, stay with me.
Speaker 2And then we left the next day. So staff take care of it and sorry to them but I don't.
Speaker 1I don't do that. I would be more concerned about the lizard coming back.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean it was very small as a little guy, but still, yeah, I mean every night I was checking the bed to make sure. There was not another one, but that was that. And then I got home and I thought to myself why, why did you do that, like you could have had fun with your friends and and just not participated in the amount of alcohol that was?
Speaker 1I mean I'm more like no, but on the last night that's like when I would have a hard no, cause you don't want to fly feeling sick.
Speaker 2Which I did, you did, I wasn't. I did have a a whole row to myself, which was very nice.
Speaker 1Wow, that's a blessing.
Speaker 2I don't know how that happened, but that was really like.
Speaker 1By the grace of God.
Speaker 2Literally, I was so thankful for that. I had a bad time and I, just I was like I don't know why you participated in that amount of drinking. You don't drink literally ever. There are weeks that go by in life that I do not consume a single drop of alcohol, right and and I don't usually like to be drunk like I like a craft cocktail dinner. You know, I'll try something new, but I'm not trying like I don't like the feeling of being super drunk yeah more than a few times a year.
Speaker 2So I to myself, I was like you are need to be reformed.
Speaker 1Born again.
Speaker 2And I've had so much water over the past week and half and I don't know when the next time I will drink is, and that is my declaration, maybe your birthday. Maybe, but even then, like I feel that it will be minimal, Some elderflower frilly drink one time. So that is the trip. The one thing I did want to say is that we one whole day on this trip we played real life traders.
Speaker 1Fun. Which is such a fun?
Speaker 2thing to do for a birthday, and everyone participated and it was super fun.
Speaker 1Love that.
Speaker 2I was chosen as a trader.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2And you know what, in my mind I think that I could be a trader. And then, on this trip, I learned that I can.
Speaker 1No, I think you'd be an excellent faithful.
Speaker 2I would yeah. Because I understand how people who are traders and would be strategists would be thinking Correct, so I would really be good at sussing that out. Yeah, I so. Sal, our friend Sal, did what played the role of Alan Cumming. Yeah, and he was the narrator and everything Fun. He did the whole thing where he walked around the table a bunch of times and he picked traders.
Speaker 1Is this a favorite show of cameron's?
Speaker 2yes, okay okay and we played and I was chosen as a trader, cameron was chosen as a trader, which we all kind of like figured, we just like pretended to, not until the end. And then um hayley's boyfriend, cena Sina, was also chosen. And I know why I was chosen it's because I am a fan of the game and I know it. So you don't want to choose someone who's literally never seen the show before because they're not going to really know how to play. And so he chose me because of the people that know the show. I think I guess I was the least likely to people like be thinking that I am the traitor. So we all had to go into rooms.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I went to my bedroom and I didn't think about the fact that I'm right next to someone who wasn't a traitor. So every time they, we would all go to the rooms and then Sal would text the traitors and be like, okay, come upstairs. I had to move so slowly so that my door wasn't heard.
Speaker 1It was played over the course of one day. Right, this wasn't.
Speaker 2Yeah, we played for like four hours but I had to move so slowly to open and close the door so that the person next to me didn't hear. It was dan, our friend, dan um. And so we would go upstairs and we would talk about who we wanted to murder, and then we would tell him that we would go back to the room and then sal would text the whole group and be like, okay, come upstairs, and then we would see who was murdered, and then we played little games that were silly, like um, things that a bunch of gay people and girls would know, like get like, finish these pop lyrics and who who facts about celebrities and whatever. So like we played little mini games. And then we had a round table where we voted people off. I made it probably five or six rounds and then the person that turned on me was hayley. Oh fuck, she turned on me and she her reasoning was what there was one round where I was.
Speaker 2I've killed hayley immediately I know I should, you should have but I didn't think she was going to turn on me because she is, she doesn't. She hates when we play, like, um, those types of games like mafia and stuff, like she does not like playing those games. So I thought she would just be very timid and just like sit there and not do much. But she referenced a time where I said to her I was like I am like think, I feel like it could be this person, cause I was just like trying to plant a seed and I was like I think it'd be this person. And then that person got murdered the next time or a time after and I, I guess, talk to her again and I was like said something like oh my God, like I had did not.
Speaker 2I thought I literally thought that person was a traitor, like I didn't think they were going to get murdered. And so she, in one of these round tables, turns on me and she's like you know what? I think it's Alison, because I think it's weird that you uh said something about Jake and then when he got murdered, like you came straight to me and we were like, isn't that weird? I was like Haley, I did that to you. I said that to you because you were the one person I talked to about it. I was like that's a lot.
Speaker 1I mean I yeah, you're right, that's.
Speaker 2I mean I was like I just talked to you because you were. You were the person I said it to. So, I came, I just like, was talking to you about it again, but I was flustered by the fact that she turned on me and everyone started questioning me. Then, you know, as they do, like everyone turned to me and I was like you guys, like I.
Speaker 2I tried to say you guys, I'm a faithful, because you know, when they say that on TV like it's so good, I first of all. We were drinking while this happened, so every round that happened, we got more intoxicated. And by this time I was a little tipsy and I fumbled the word faithful and they all were like it's Alison.
Speaker 2She's a traitor, so I didn't get voted out that round. But I got voted out, I think, the round after, and I was so mad because Haley's boyfriend, who was also a traitor, voted for me, which he didn't have to. But he had to he, he didn't, but he did to save himself, like he could have been like you guys you guys, I I really don't think it's allison blah, blah blah.
Speaker 2He like there was still time for that, but he just decided to, yeah, self-preserve, and he voted for me and I was not prepared for it and I like turned and looked at him kind of like what the hell? And I gave it away that he was a traitor by doing that, because everyone was like why'd she react like that, like why does she care? So honestly. But I was like I don't care, you turn on me yeah so anyway, it was fun. Highly recommend for your friends the faithful win. The faithfuls did win.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2And Caleb actually, like uh, put up some money for them, so that was fun and highly recommend for your friend group to do that.
Speaker 1That is very fun.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And what a great show.
Speaker 2Love. Have you been watching oh?
Speaker 1yeah, I'm all caught up.
Speaker 2Same, we can talk about it later. You can tell me about your past two weeks. A lot has happened very fast and I'm going to be moving this week, so this is the last time we'll be here, right, or we'll have one more, because I have a lot of overlap, so we'll be able to do, I think, a couple more here, while we figure out the next setup.
Speaker 1Anyway, nothing else really to report, because I've just been busy, just keeping busy and. I'm not going to talk about my unhinged have you already started um packing? I have already started packing and I bought paper plates and plastic utensils so that I can pack up the kitchen class. I feel like the kitchen is the most tedious. The kitchen and the bathroom, for some reason in my head, are like the worst.
Speaker 2Really.
Speaker 1Yeah, cause it's like there's so many little things and you're like oh yeah, but it was opening my cabinets and I was like do you know how much stuff is above my refrigerator?
Speaker 2Yeah, but it is a good opportunity to throw things away.
Speaker 1You're right, and the place I'm moving is like double the square footage, so I will have more space, which is nice, um, but that doesn't mean I need to get more things or take everything.
Speaker 2No, because you have a storage unit that you can get rid of now.
Speaker 1So use the space. I have a two car garage, though, so that can go into the garage.
Speaker 2That's fire. That's rich, that is rich.
Speaker 1Anyway, so yeah, it's been pretty chill over here, um, and that's all I'm going to say on the podcast.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Oh, but I do have news.
Speaker 2Thank you, I've been waiting.
Speaker 1What.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1What do you think I'm going to say? Mine's pop culture.
Speaker 2No, I was just trying to be funny.
Speaker 1Let me look at my list. I have three things, oh okay. So first, this is pop culture, music news. So in the Taylor Nation there was, so back a while ago, two songs got leaked from Taylor from the Lover era. Oh okay, she ended up releasing one of them as part of something.
Speaker 1Poets no, it wasn't part of torture poets, maybe it was. Whatever she released. The other one is called need. Never released it, okay. Okay, all of a sudden that, but we all you can like find the demo of it, of her singing it, and it's a banger. All of a sudden this guy starts teasing this song on tiktok. He has like little to no following but like has the artwork for it and it's the lover era artwork and it sends taylor nation into a tizzy for like 48 hours. We're all like what is happening? Why? What is this? Who is this man? Yeah, when you look him up, he has released a few songs on spotify. He's a songwriter who's written for other artists, okay, and one of the songs he's recently released is called Hiss. So everyone assumes this is a Taylor deep fake. Like reputations about to be announced.
Speaker 1Okay, because it's like too many things and it's like what is, and then he releases it. So now we have this version out in the world by this guy that is a cover, essentially of Taylor's song.
Speaker 2Oh, okay.
Speaker 1Did he release his? His has already been out. Yeah, it released. Then he released Need.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And it's a banger. I downloaded it. I was like wow, this is really good. And if you look at it on Spotify, it says produced by Taylor Swift, written by Taylor Swift. And so everyone was like, and so everyone's like what does this mean? Like she's not even talking about this.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Taylor Nation goes insane on this man trying to figure out what's going on, to the point where he removes it.
Speaker 2Oh.
Speaker 1It has nothing to do with Taylor at all, it's he got a mechanical license to do a cover of this song.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And then it blew up. So he posts the thing on TikTok and he's basically like you guys, I did this legally, I was allowed to do this, but like I'm going to take it down for a second because everyone is freaking out that I lied to people and I didn't, I was just like he was doing a publicity stunt. He was literally like yeah he was kind of like in the comments of his own leak he was like can't wait for Taylor's version. So people were like, what do you mean? Yeah, he did nothing wrong.
Speaker 2He did it legally. What's a mechanical license?
Speaker 1So a mechanical license is what you get to be able to do a cover.
Speaker 2How do you get that?
Speaker 1You're just like when you well. So in this case he would have had to get permission from her because it was unreleased about it the legal way and she just responded like I mean it's like imagine how many people. But like, if I wanted to do a cover of an already released taylor song, you just get a mechanical license when you register it, so like I would go to upload it.
Speaker 1It would ask for the original songwriters you submit it, then they have to approve it okay and nine times out of ten it gets approved that has to be so many people a day oh yeah, of course, and that's someone has to be someone's full-time job and I'm sure, like a lot of them, get denied if the quality isn't good but, like I've never had a mechanical license be denied work period thank you, celine. Um so, I just thought that was so funny that's crazy.
Speaker 2She's gonna release it now that everyone's like.
Speaker 1I don't think so, because lover Lover, she owns Lover. Lover was the first one that she owned after the Scooter. Yeah, so we're not going to get a Lover Taylor's version, cause it already is.
Speaker 2Yeah, but she could just release the song.
Speaker 1It's just so that era. If you listen to it it's like she could, she won't.
Speaker 2I don't think she will Just as a random, like single.
Speaker 1No, what would be a really fun like this is how much I love my fans move would be for her to like do a duet version with this guy Cause he like didn't do anything wrong and it was so good. So it's not come back on the Spotify yet, but I'm keeping an eye out cause I liked it. It was really good. You should listen to it.
Speaker 1I think you vibe, I guess, lover, I guess if you say that I can pick up the vibe, but is it poppy like? Is it fast or is it slow? Fast, okay, let me see if I can play a little cup of it. But the other thing, while this loads is so, when I was in a boy band we did a cover of break free by aria grande. We performed this song and I have had it stuck in my head, but it's it's funny because it's been brought to my attention multiple times by anyone that's listened to. It's been brought to my attention multiple times by anyone that's listened to it that the way that I sing the first verse is like oh no sounds like a slur, so it's.
Speaker 1If you want to take it. I should have said it before. Try to hide it, fake it. But the way that I sing, fake it it sounds like the f sounds like the f, sl, and now it's all I can say when I'm singing it. Well, I mean you can say it it popped up as a memory and I was watching it. I was watching the performance and I was like, yeah, I am 100% saying the F slur. Anyway, you be the judge.
Speaker 2Well, you can't get in trouble because you can say it.
Speaker 1True, but you know, okay, here's what you released. The song is not available due to circumstances that I, due to criticism that I've been receiving lately for making a cover song, which millions of people have done and still do, I have decided to remove need completely. I received the mechanical license to make this cover song and have never once said I was taylor or her team, which he didn't, but he was also like playing with people yeah however, speculations and clowning got way out of hand, which caused many people speculating and spreading false information around and purposefully twisting things, and for that I've decided this.
Speaker 1I appreciate all the support that you have given me and I hope to enjoy, if you enjoy, future music that I put out steven and it sucks, because it was good oh, so it sounds like he's not gonna put it back up he had.
Speaker 1He originally said he was, and it seems that he's not part of me also wonders if that means he did get like legally. They were like they got too big and her team may have been like okay bro yeah, but I feel like if you get a mechanical license, they can't they can't. Yeah, renee can be like just kidding it got. It's too popular like what mechanical, like the cover artist gets nothing. Yeah, like it all goes to the original artist.
Speaker 2Yeah, anyway that is like a fun saga to follow.
Speaker 1It is, and it was like all my attention for two days.
Speaker 2That's so funny. I saw none of it.
Speaker 1That is funny.
Speaker 2Like not even a single, a single video, yep. So it's just so crazy how things can be happening on the internet While Depending on what site, and people can have no clue, none. Well, speaking of the internet, dizzy um asap rocky was acquitted I saw that which seemed like launch over and tackle rihanna oh yeah hilarious wild.
Speaker 2It is wild and good, I guess yeah, I didn't really like look into it because I was. Where was I, I don't know. It was like early in the morning, was I still in mexico, I don't know, but I so I didn't really get to read too much into it. So let me just look up really quickly. So he was being charged with two felony counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, um, in which a former friend said the rapper shot at him in hollywood, grazing his knuckles. So he pled not guilty, rejected a plea deal that would have involved very little jail time and opted not to testify during the case.
Speaker 2Okay, so the jurors decided it took the jury of seven women and five men roughly three hours to decide the case, finding Rocky not guilty of the two felonies. They could decide Rocky was not guilty because he only fired blanks from a prop gun taken from a music video set, as the defense argued, or in that he acted in self-defense. They could simply decide that, oh, this is what they could. They could, that was what he his defense was arguing that it was a prop gun that he took from a music video. And, um, there, they said that there was too much reasonable doubt to convict. So ASAP rallies.
Speaker 2Testimony made up the bulk of the prosecution's case. One surveillance camera recorded the sound of the shots being fired, another partially captured a scuffle shortly before the shooting, and another video showed, uh, the incident itself, though the frame within the view was small, blurry and far from definitive, so it looks like they just didn't have enough physical evidence to show it that they just had this guy's testimony, and so, beyond reasonable doubt, I guess, wins again wow but yeah, he launched himself over.
Speaker 2Did he get in trouble by the? They were like quiet down, get back here, yeah, I was like. I feel like the judge would not have liked that.
Speaker 1No, but speaking of courts, you saw diddy's lawyer quit. I did. Did you also know his lawyer was osama bin laden's lawyer?
Speaker 2I just learned literally that today how the hell's osama bin laden's lawyer gonna quit. And also, when was this and why did he have a lawyer here? Yeah, I don't know what was the context of this.
Speaker 1That I don't know, it's just the like.
Speaker 2Diddy and Osama bin Laden's lawyer. We're through line Okay, okay, okay. How do I find this Attorney who defended Osama bin Laden quits sex trafficking case? Anthony Rico, one of Sean Diddy Combs defense attorneys, has sorry, has filed to withdraw from the hip hop moguls case, sparking a wave of speculation discussions online. Um, although I've provided Sean Combs with a high level of legal representation, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for sean combs consistent with the aba standards for criminal justice.
Returning from Puerto Vallarta
Speaker 2Okay, get me to the why obl this attorney defended none other than osama bin lad in the US court after World Trade Center bombing. He was here. What?
Speaker 1We were 11.
Speaker 2Weren't we trying to find him for so long?
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, zero Dark Thirty, Hello, great movie.
Speaker 2Bryce Dallas Howard. No no way, no way.
Speaker 1With such confidence. You said that it's not Bryce. One more try. It's Jessica Chastain, Jessica.
Speaker 2Chastain. There's no way I will ever be able to tell the difference between them. My eyes are watering. That's funny, okay, how was Anthony Rico Osama's lawyer?
Speaker 2I feel like chat gbt could answer this anthony rico is a veteran criminal defense defense attorney known for taking some of the most high profile and controversial cases controversial cases, why can't I talk? In 2001, he served as part of the legal team defending osama bin laden. In that capacity, rico Rico argued that bin Laden shouldn't be prosecuted because he was not present in the US at the time and thus couldn't effectively defend himself under US law. The stance was one of several Rico's career that highlights his willingness to represent clients involved in the most challenging, contentious legal battles. So there was a time in which bin Laden was in the Us on trial, and then he left, and then we were searching for him was it pre-9-11 for something else?
Speaker 1this is in 2001 okay, well, hell, if I know how did we get him?
Speaker 2there's plot holes in our history, sorry okay, so this says osama bin laden was indicted by the us authorities following september 11th attacks, as part of the government's broad effort to hold those behind terrorism accountable. He was charged for orchestrating attacks and supporting terrorism, where the indictments were issued in 1998 and again in 2001. However, bin laden was never captured or brought within us jurisdiction. Okay, so they had him on trial when he wasn't here, so he was probably like okay, right, I'll defend this guy um, but zero dark 30 is a good movie, so you guys should watch it yes, it is uh
Speaker 1with jessica chastain and it is christina hendrix best performance christina hendrix, who's that?
Speaker 2just another redhead that you would confuse there is a girl who is in that movie, who is also in lioness, oh, oh, doing the same thing.
Speaker 1Oh really.
Speaker 2She just like is playing the. She's like a us official. Yeah, just like this lady just keeps getting cast as the same character. Good for her. Um, but I finished lioness and I liked it, so I recommend okay, are you, did you finish younger?
Speaker 1I finished younger. What are your thoughts. Here's my thoughts. Here's what I actually think happened. I think younger kept getting renewed and they didn't think they were going to.
Speaker 2So they kept trying to end it.
Speaker 1I think the last two seasons. So first of all, my favorite character in the whole show.
Speaker 2Marketing yes.
Speaker 1Whatever her name is, the I don't remember her character. The bestie calls her Diva.
Speaker 2Diva yeah.
Speaker 1Oh, my God.
Speaker 2What is her name?
Speaker 1You know who I'm talking about, though.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Liza's boss.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I think she was like okay, I'm really sick of this show getting renewed, Because when she gets married, then she only appears one more time in a video call.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's a FaceTime. It's like I'm really loving Italy.
Speaker 1Loving Italy, I'm going to stay. It's like, yeah, your character would never but okay, um, and I loved her. Like her comic relief was really like refreshing to me. I also loved the commitment to like that bit, that her bit never changed, the large, gaudy necklaces and the attitude was this it was the only character that just was consistently that you end up hating Charles, which is like oh my God, yeah, fine with me.
Speaker 2I. I think the the besty, the like, uh jewish lesbian girl, I think she was the same the whole time. She too, right I?
Speaker 1think she became way more likable, like she went from being a supporting character to almost like a lead yeah um, I think it's funny that, like I, I think what must have happened too is, like in the testing for the last seasons, because I know how that stuff goes I think people really resonated with her because, like, come on, what do you mean? She just goes there and gets herself a job. She just like takes the place of this marketing executive. I'm her eyes and ears.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Anyway. So I think the last season specifically, they were like okay what do we do? Let's put Liza in a precarious situation again, where the signals get crossed and she is made to look like a fucking idiot and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then it ends and literally like, oh, it's the season finale. Wow, there's like nothing building up here. So what's about to happen? Yeah if you haven't seen it, plug your ears. It ends literally. I was like this can't be the last scene.
Speaker 2This cannot be the last yeah, it's so unceremonious in the bar, you know yeah the recreation of when her and josh raising the shoe, yeah, yeah yeah, and I'm just like and then they're like not together, right they're?
Speaker 1They're not together. Here is how the show could have been exponentially better at the end.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1It was set up like like a fucking um Darren Chris show or Darren.
Speaker 2Star.
Speaker 1They're in star show. It was like a sex in the city, just a little cornier, but like devil wears Prada-esque, where it's like they could have literally had that scene and then done a one minute montage of like six months from now, where there's literally no dialogue. It's just one of those like anthematic song where they just pan shot across each of their lives and they show hillary duff in la like running the new, her new thing that she's doing in la. Yeah, liza. Liza and Josh like on a vacation together.
Speaker 2Yeah, their wedding.
Speaker 1Like in a home, but you see, like a wedding photo. Yeah, lesbian redhead hot friend like doing some boss shit. Yeah, charles, like hanging out with his daughters. I don't know, they could have done one minute it could have just been a quick, sweeping shot that would have literally tied it all up and been like a nice.
Speaker 2Couldn't they also have just recreated this scene of her and Josh meeting and them just being like it was always you?
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And just kiss.
Speaker 1Because they did that four other times throughout the show.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Where Josh was, like you've always been there.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yes, it could have been Just make it like her being like yes, you're right, it was always you. We love each other. We're kissing and then a little montage. Yeah, I agree, it was very unceremonious.
Speaker 1When I get to audition for Darren Star one day. I'm going to be like thank you for seeing this audition. Can we have a chat? Because, look, I loved and look it's put, it's reignited this like love for Hilary Duff and me that I've always had.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1I've been relisting to her albums. I think we really slept on her as a pop princess.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh. That video has been viral of her doing her little booty shake.
Speaker 1I've now been listening to podcasts where she's a guest, so I just listened to her on um your.
Speaker 2Josh Peck.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was from like two years ago.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh, I watched it when it came out immediately, don't worry, it's just like but she's like the most likable person ever.
Speaker 1Yeah, she is America's sweetheart and is pure and just like, living her life, doing her thing, being like. Yeah, I love music.
Speaker 2I would like to watch the series bunheads that um is features sutton foster. I watched this when it came out um in what year?
Speaker 2I just saw it was older it was featured on hulu, or yeah, it just became featured on hulu. I watched this. What year? 2012? It's a. So the description is bunheads tells a fish out of water story where michelle sims, a once promising, classically chained professional dancer who was drawn to the lights of las vegas where she became a showgirl. After she impulsively marries her persistent suitor, she moves to sleepy to sleepy California coastal town where he lives with his mother. Fanny, herself a former dancer, now runs a local dance studio. Michelle ends up bonding with some of Fanny's students after meeting them. Among the students is Sweet Boo, who struggles with her body type. Rebellious Sasha, who has talent to be a ballet dancer but doesn't have a heart in it because of family issues. Shapely Jenny, who's not comfortable in her own skin. And fun-loving Melanie, ready for whatever life throws at her. The students benefit from Michelle's knowledge, but she also benefits from them, as they help her adapt to small town life.
Speaker 1All I got from that is how insulting it is to call someone shapely.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's crazy is to call someone shapely. Yeah, that's crazy Okay so no, I'm not going to watch that. That's a IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes description. But, yeah, she is a Vegas showgirl that moves to this small town and she starts teaching at the dance studio, and I sure watched it when it came out Great.
Speaker 1It also is just another reminder that is Sutton Foster, the busiest woman in show business. She's doing theater, she's doing movies, she's doing the TV shows. Like I forgot too until I was I was rewatching A Year in the Life Gilmore Girls that she is in an episode of that with her, then husband, what's his name? Who is not gay, apparently the guy that's. He was also in Younger. He had a cameo in younger.
Speaker 1He played like the poor magazine editor who she kind of dates, but he's always like stealing food from parties cause he doesn't have food at home. Oh, and then I barely remember that he is the one that writes the article about her, her actual age.
Speaker 2Do you? How does that happen? Is it just like my husband wants? Or we have this character and she's like my husband will do it?
Speaker 1They do so much stuff together and they've remained best friends since their divorce. And he is the original Emmett in Legally Blonde on Broadway. He was in oh, did you watch? Let Me Be your Star. What was that Smash? I watched like the very beginning beginning I never finished it okay play the gay man, so again work but not all theater.
Speaker 1Men are gay, I guess well, the few that aren't really, they get the pick they get the pick of the litter of whatever they get the pick of the litter indeed, anyway. So, yes, younger's done, finally. And now I'm on to like well, white Lotus just started again.
Speaker 2I started it.
Speaker 1Did you watch the newest episode?
Speaker 2I did not watch last night's. I've only seen the first episode.
Speaker 1Spoiler alerts. I'm not going to talk about the second episode to you, but I am going to say that I don't know why Mike White always has to throw like a little something that's just like a little icky, into each season brothers and sisters.
Speaker 2They were being weird about the sister too, and I don't. Yes, and this is not a spoil, but the episode opens. Episode two opens with a shot of schwarzenegger's like naked body in bed and the brother, his little brother, looks at him so it's the little brother that's the weird one, because there was a conversation where at the beginning that was like brothers and sisters can't sleep, like don't sleep in the same room anymore, and I thought that Schwarzenegger was the weird one.
Speaker 1So it's the younger one that is like, and I'm just like, are we going to find out he's not his biological brother? And then he's going to make a move on it. I don't know.
Speaker 2It's just the way he looked at him.
Speaker 1He was literally like yeah, the whole time josh and I have been like hate this, hate this feeling, stop it, stop it. I do love the gossipy lore coming out now about patrick schwarzenegger being closeted gay and that his boyfriend wasn't like allowed to come to the premiere because he's like trying to keep his closeted life closeted. Otherwise, the show is good. Like I'm excited about it. Episode two was really good. It's just I also always forget this is one of those shows that's honestly better to give it a couple weeks so you can binge it, because 60% of the show is just really artsy, slow panning shots of something that's happening. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2Okay, because I have not seen season one or two.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2So I'm coming into the universe cold.
Speaker 1Oh, so you don't know the lore of also how Mike White was on Survivor. No, mike White.
Speaker 2No, but that name is familiar and that's probably why.
Speaker 1So he is the creator of the show. He was on Survivor. He's also an actor. He wrote and was in the movie School of Rock, like he's famous. Oh yeah, I saw him on survivor yeah, he puts his survivor cast mates in every season but, only for like a background style like cameo okay so natalie from his season oh, yeah, was in the first episode. She was the woman that went and sat at the table and then the lead actress, black woman like looks over at her and, like they, smile at each other in the first episode.
Speaker 2How did I miss that?
Speaker 1I don't know, but that's Natalie.
Speaker 2So it's always like look out who's in the first two seasons.
Speaker 1The first season is. You'd have to look it up. I don't remember who it is.
Speaker 2I mean, I would know if I saw his face, but anyway, so he always puts his cast mates which is another fun piece of lore.
Speaker 1But the show is such beauty shots and like you need to. I mean, jennifer Coolidge is iconic, you must. I mean I love it.
Speaker 2It wasn't that I didn't want to, I just never got around to it because we had just finished lioness. We were like we have also started the penguin, which we I don't know why we started another show in tandem with this. But he, josh, is a fan of the white Lotus in general, so he was like should we watch it? And I said I've never seen. But yeah, and I wanted to watch because of Lisa.
Speaker 1Yeah, so, oh, my God, she's doing great. She's such a good actress.
Speaker 2Yeah, I didn't put to, I didn't know it was in Thailand. So then when the opening it started in Thailand, I was like that's why Lisa's in it, because she's Thai, and yeah.
Speaker 1Um, so that's great. I also did you watch the SAG awards yesterday? I didn't, so be aware, and it's pretty much you'd expect. Everyone that wanted the globe globes basically want except timothy did win the best actor and he gave a great speech like well deserved. It was also much shorter and kristin bell is such a great hostess so like they did, like a gossip girl bit with leet and meester I heard that they did that.
Speaker 2That's fun um.
Speaker 1She sang like a medley in the beginning do you want to be an actor instead of. Do you want to be a? Do you want to build a snowman?
Speaker 2I like that. I'll look that part up. I just was like do people watch this awards show Like I didn't? I didn't think that anyone cared.
Speaker 1It was really produced in a way that seemed like to me it was produced better than the Golden Globes, like it was entertaining.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Um.
Speaker 2I honestly didn't even know they were happening to be really honest.
Speaker 1It was like live on Netflix. How would you even know that?
Speaker 2I didn't Right but, and then I was like oh, no one's watching this for sure, but I will go back and watch that, because I do love Kristen Bell.
Speaker 1And Jane Fonda got the Lifetime Achievement Award and her speech was really good, like the speeches were really good in this one.
Experiences at the beach club
Speaker 2I saw that, Timothy like his outfit.
Speaker 1It was looked really good, it was really cool. But anyway, sag awards now we're fine.
Speaker 2Finally we're to the oscars. Yeah, is that this sunday? It's this sunday. Yeah, wait, it was yesterday. When this episode comes out, they will have already happened. Okay, oh right, so I did end up watching conclave oh, you did.
Speaker 1Now I have one today, or it wanted the sag awards I was not prepared for this movie.
Speaker 2What?
Speaker 1do you mean?
Speaker 2like it just like took a turn a twist really that I just like didn't I couldn't, yeah, I thought it was good. It's very artsy and yeah you know, kind of slow. I mean it's. How crazy could it be with, you know, cardinals in the vatican? It wasn't that wild, yeah, but it. I mean I had no idea what was going to happen and it it took me by surprise it won not.
Speaker 2Best picture won something, though, at the sag awards I have to watch it, I want to see it and like the, the guy that is like becomes like a integral part of it. He's like not an actor at all. I don't. I looked him up and it was just like he's just like a regular working guy.
Speaker 1That just got put in this movie. That happens sometimes.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I, I, yeah, I think you should watch it. It is just like it's slow. It's not like it's slow, it's not like it's not like any other movie I've seen. It's just, it's very artsy and slow and I'll check it out whatever, but I enjoyed it and we are going to watch the substance this week.
Speaker 1Oh good, please let me know how, so we you got to actually talk about it. Yeah, um, she won demi more one at the sack. The other thing, that one that was shocking for everyone, was um best ensemble in a comedy series went to um, only murders in the building. And when they announced them, selena gomez was truly shocked and she went up there because, no, none of the other cast was there except mom shannon and she was like sorry like we've never won, so I was not expecting this.
Speaker 1and she was like sorry, like we've never won, so I was not expecting this. And she was like Steve and Martin they're not here because they don't care.
Speaker 2It was so good. That's funny. She, um, her and Benny are just everywhere all at once. Yep, and they're cute.
Speaker 1I guess I don't have thoughts on benny blanco I don't honestly writes every song ever so talented man for him, zoe saldaña. One like all the ones you'd expect I um.
Speaker 2Another show that I've started watching is paradise. Have you seen this? No I am very invested in this show so the premise is uh, the world ends, like you know, like they tell us, it's going to the, the climate and the fires and the natural disasters, whatever that happens. But this billionaire lady um wants to save initially, her like thing is that she wants to save her family. So she uh funds this building of this city under um, these mountains, somewhere.
Speaker 2Oh she hires all these architects and scientists and whatever to make it so that they can live underground and umames marsden plays the president. So he was a president in real life and then they made him the president under oh under the city what is this on hulu oh? And um sterling k brown, I think his name.
Speaker 2He is the main character he plays um one of his secret service agents, and I've only seen like three episodes, so I'm still learning the background, but it's so interesting to me they've created this whole fake world under this mountain with and it kind of looks it's like hunger games s, because it's like a dome of basically like LED screens or whatever that make it daytime, oh yeah, yeah, and then it's sunset and then it's nighttime. They have like fake sounds of birds and all these things. And I don't know they wear these bracelets that tell them when to do things so I don't like that part.
Speaker 1People are in there, would you say hundreds oh, it's it's very big.
Speaker 2They like, uh, picked families and stuff and people because they they obviously the world ended, so they need to have babies and they can't have people who, like everyone who's related, basically, um. But then the premise and this is not really a spoiler, cause it happens in the very beginning of the first episode James Marsden gets murdered, so the president dies and they're trying to find out what happened. But I'm very invested, it's so good and I just saw that they got renewed for a second season.
Speaker 1And then that is all I need to know to execute watching it myself.
Speaker 2You should watch it. That's good. Good, rex. Yeah, I guess this episode is just us talking about what we're watching. Well, yeah, pop culture, so wait. One more thing is have you been watching the POV TikToks? I think I sent you some.
Speaker 1I have watched the Titanic, one that you sent me, and then I saw that you made one.
Speaker 2I can't stop, they're everywhere. So you guys.
Speaker 1It's like your ASMR.
Speaker 2Yeah, and so someone started making these AI videos that make it a POV that you've woken up somewhere and there are a lot of them are bad. It's like you wake up the morning of the eruption of Pompeii. You wake up on the. Titanic. You wake up the morning of the eruption of pompeii. You wake up on the titanic.
Speaker 1You wake up um I saw one that was like you wake up in the lost city of atlantis yeah, most of them are disasters.
Speaker 2You woke up the morning of the atomic bomb dropping in hiroshima like it is wild. And there's all these scenes that ai has created of what the like day would look like for someone like that. They aren't really accurate, but it's like you wake up in your bed and one of the Salem witch trials I've been to the Salem witch trials and it's like she wakes up and then she like makes bread and then they go to church and then there's like men pointing at her and then she goes to trial and then she gets hung. Like it's like wild. So, yeah, I made one just to be funny, because that is fine I needed content.
Speaker 2Yeah, but that's been my whole timeline love that and that's another example of this is all I'm seeing and I've talked to people like when I did that POV video I was telling Haley and she was like I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1Like she had not seen a single one.
Speaker 2And I was like this is every single video that I'm seeing, so that's also what I've been watching is POV disaster videos.
Speaker 1I love that.
Speaker 2Also, just before I get to the birthdays, I just need you guys to know that I in fact did go to the pokemon go event in los angeles didn't even know that was a thing I uh caleb and hayley. I am not a big pokemon goer I played in 2016.
Speaker 2pokemon head played in 2016 when everyone else was and then when we were on tour two years ago, I started playing again with Caleb and Haley because we were new cities and it was like a fun thing to do on the car rides and whatever, and then I stopped again. They never stopped. They are constantly Saturday mornings going on Poke walks and catching them all.
Speaker 2There was a big Pokemon event this weekend that apparently there was only two in the world happening at the same time. One was, I think Caleb said, like Taipei, and then Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl, and they got invited as like influencer, content creators, because they're big into playing it. I went with our friend, kyle Hanagami, who choreographed Mean Girls. He had me as his plus one, so I went as like kind of a content creator. I really didn't have to post anything. I did, but I didn't have to and we got like vip access. But when I tell you, so many people, hundreds and hundreds, probably thousands of people were in the rose bowl just walking around looking at their phone, catching them them all.
Speaker 2I got to meet Pikachu.
Speaker 1What do you mean?
Speaker 2Your worst nightmare. It was a character suit. I don't want it Pikachu, but cute Little feet and just not creepy, okay, but if you saw us at Pokemon Go, whatever tour, there I was Hi. Well, today's birthdays are light-ish. We have Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony fame. Of Fifth Harmony yes, she's 28.
Speaker 1Quiz Mouths.
Speaker 2Christy Lukusiak, who is Chloe's mom from Dance Moms. She's 48. Julie Bowen of Modern Family is 55. Okay, julie Jessica Beal is 43. Buddy Valastro Cake Boss.
Speaker 1RIP. He's not dead. Oh yeah, Right.
Speaker 2He just had his hand almost got chopped off In their bowling alley, but he's okay. Okay, he's 48.
Speaker 1Oh, okay. And then In pop culture he's 48, that means when Cake Boss Came out, he was like 33.
Speaker 2Yeah, he was.
Speaker 1Looking like a 45 year old man.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, okay, I mean it's tough In the bakery, you know, and family. And yeah, the Spice. Yeah, I mean it's tough in the bakery, you know, and family, yeah, the spice girls, the girls, the spice girls.
Speaker 1All right, Camila Cabello.
Speaker 2The spice girls formed in 1994 on this day and the movie iconic movie Aquamarine came out in 2006.
Speaker 1We are blessed to have that.
Speaker 2So blessed.
Speaker 1Jojo Emma Roberts.
Speaker 2Yeah, emma Roberts, yeah, emma. Roberts wow, so good so and, by the way, I'm going to Jojo's concert um next week hell, yeah, yeah, love her excited for that very good that's all that's all folks.
Speaker 1I hope everyone has a great week. March 3rd it's your birthday week. No, I guess are you counting this as your birthday?
Speaker 2week. It's on Sunday, so it depends on when your week starts. Does your week start on Sunday or does it end?
Speaker 1on Sunday. I typically Sundays are the start of my week.
Speaker 2Oh, really, mine's the end.
Speaker 1But we won't have an episode again before your birthday, so we'll say happy birthday to you today.
Speaker 2Okay, wait what? Yes, we will.
Speaker 1No, wait, no, we won't, no, we won't. This episode comes out and then the next one comes out the day after your birthday. Yes, so this is your pre-birthday episode.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Happy birthday, Allison Thank you. From all of us here at the A-List, which is just me and Stanley From all of us here but everyone listening and watching.
Speaker 2Yeah, so happy to be back from Mexico and not drinking, and if you do see me with a drink no, you didn't. But just know that it's probably only that one.

Speaker 2And I will see what happens on my birthday and I'll let you guys know.
Speaker 1Yes, and you're going to watch what's the movie you're watching.
Speaker 2The Substance and we'll talk about it next week.
Speaker 1Yeah, have, we're going to watch what's the movie you're watching?
Speaker 2The Substance, and we'll talk about it next week. Yeah, have a great week. Everyone. Thanks you too. Okay, bye, bye, thanks, bye, bye, bye.
