Speaker 1:

when she was doing meth. That's the cold open. Can you say meth in the first 30 seconds?

Speaker 2:

I don't know if it's out on the no list definitely can't cuss but meth meth might be allowed.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the A-List Podcast with Allison and Alex.

Speaker 2:

I'm Allison hey what's up, I'm Alex and we're back, and we are Allison and Alex. And this is the A-List Podcast with Allison and Alex.

Speaker 1:

We keep going in a loop, hey.

Speaker 2:

Howdy.

Speaker 1:

We are back from all of our travels.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and so time has passed. Things have been completed. We'll do quick catch-ups.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I have a long list, because I forgot that I had already started making a list last week.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then I started making another list of things to talk about, and then I thought we were on the next episode, oh right. And I was like we haven't talked about any of these things yet. Yeah, so there's a long list. Okay, you want to start with our trips, I suppose.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'll start with dodgeball, since it's done.

Speaker 1:

Oh, we have dodgeball.

Speaker 2:

We have AMA recap and we also have trips, so it's really on you. Okay, dodgeball is done. I am still feeling sour about it because I've told Allison like I'm done with dodgeball.

Speaker 1:

You haven't told me what happened.

Speaker 2:

So basically, um, we want it was a double header for us and if we want our first game, we would go to the finals against hot to throw our first game. We won pretty close. It was a pretty close game against Las Jotas, which.

Speaker 1:

I don't know those, oh sorry.

Speaker 2:

Las Jotas, I don't know those. Oh sorry, las Hotas.

Speaker 1:

I don't think I've heard that name of a team before.

Speaker 2:

We played them once and we lost to them. That's where Eve Nasty is from.

Speaker 1:

Eve Nasty.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so we played. She was great. Actually, she did get injured and had to sit out for a little bit, but we beat them pretty close, I want to say like three to two. It was a close game and then we immediately had to play hot to throw and there was just a lot of BS. So, first of all, our refs for the last game were four. They had four refs. Since it's like the final game, oh wait you did tell me this.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I did kind of give it to you, but basically, what happened is they weren't calling plays against us, that they didn't. They didn't say, like they didn't share with us that, like a team captain can contest whether or not an out was made even after a game ends which is actually wild to me.

Speaker 1:

When there's not, it's not being filmed, there's not a replay system like in other, like professional sports, sure, yeah, after the plays over, if you're like hey, or if the game just ended like, can we go back and look at this last out? In professional sports, sure, this is recreational. There's no way for them.

Speaker 2:

So the ref can just be biased and be like, and so you guys know, two of the refs were on the team that we had just previously beat and be like, and so you guys know, two of the refs were on the team that we had just previously beat yeah.

Speaker 1:

So it's like that's insane. They don't want to see us win and normally people who referee are supposed to be unbiased, right? So if you can't be, then you shouldn't be refereeing correct.

Speaker 2:

So, and it was two to three, we were, we had three and we were trying to avoid sudden death. There was five minutes left in the game. Our only player standing was ryan and it was ryan against two people on hot to throw and he ran the clock. He did it yeah the timer goes off.

Speaker 2:

We think we've won and then they blow the whistle. The team captain on the other team is talking to them, so I go up as my team captain, head ref, turns around. I'm not gonna say his name anymore because I'm annoyed with him forever he turns around. He was like we're going into sudden death, it's sudden death. And I was like why, and he was like um he, a ball, did graze his pants and he's out. I was like when yeah.

Speaker 2:

Cause the game the way did. When the time ran out they weren't even throwing balls at ryan, like he was crouched in the corner. So I was like, when did a ball get thrown at him that we all missed in the end?

Speaker 1:

no it, it happened minutes prior that's, there has to be a statute of limitations, and I was like explain this I said to.

Speaker 2:

You know who it's like. Explain this. He's like a team captain can contest any, uh anything. They, if they think that there's an out that happened that wasn't called, and if another ref corroborates that, then it counts.

Speaker 1:

Could you be like I want to contest an out from two games ago.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I was so flabbergasted. I could not believe it and to me it was like no, this ref who didn't like us just wanted to see this go into sudden death.

Speaker 2:

And just so you guys know, sudden death is two minutes on the clock. However many players, players, whoever has the most players left standing at the end of two minutes wins, and then we would have won that, except they didn't. They didn't even they didn't tell us that in sudden death they add two more refs and so these two other people come on the court that we didn't see come on the court because we're like, oh my god, here we gotta go yeah we start the clock starts, we're in the lead by.

Speaker 2:

Like my quick calculations, we had like four more people on the court than they did at this time. One of my players they uh, this random person, who again was another person from the team prior that we got out, who was so annoyed with us that when we did the like good game, game, get the good game at the end he kept his hand down to his side so he was grow up so great, please bring another person over to ref against us.

Speaker 2:

And he, uh, he called her out and she was like, and she rightfully so. It was like who are you? Yeah and then all of us got distracted by that while the other team is still throwing balls.

Speaker 2:

So just like that, four players out on my team yeah and he's like I'm the fucking ref, you're out, oh my gosh. And and the lead ref, you know, he was like you're out, you're out. And then karina is like who is this person, who is that? And I was like I was like shut up, just keep playing like they're not pausing the clock.

Speaker 1:

No one's explaining what's going on a quick fix for this is sure they don't have to announce hello everyone, we're adding two more refs, but they need to have some sort of insignia that shows that they're a ref, because normal again in professional or whatever, not even professional in other sports, the referee is wearing a distinctive shirt.

Speaker 2:

And not only was this, could they have an armband that is like bright red, holding his water bottle? And had his backpack on. He truly looked like someone that was just there to watch yeah, that's insane.

Speaker 1:

Like sure, add people, but give them an armband, give them a t-shirt, give them a like, something that indicates yeah to everyone.

Speaker 2:

This is a referee and whatever so the game ended, we had one less person than they did, and then head ref comes out to talk to us and answer all of everyone's frustrated questions, and he literally was like, could not give an answer that was satisfactory to any of us. It was just like what?

Speaker 2:

So you, you're making up rules along the way, you're not calling the outs on them. No one said that we were allowed to contest, uh, play or like if someone was out and I was like that was, I was like straight up, though that was just shady to let the clock run and then say, oh, the ball hit his pants two minutes ago, what? And like you said, and there's no way to actually prove that, it's just a ref was like yeah, you're right, I did see that that's an out.

Speaker 1:

Anything could so my.

Speaker 2:

So I left like really upset that night and the consensus that, and like I was supposed to go on an airplane in four hours, like I decided. I was like yeah, I'm done. Like being the team captain was fun the first time. The second time I ended up taking it too seriously. It's supposed to be recreational and then because of how serious the league takes it, but then so not serious in gameplay, yeah, it's just too much for my brain. I'm just like no.

Speaker 1:

I've played many recreational teams like both in Indianapolis and Marion and here, and it's like it's not usually that difficult, like there's a there's a rule book and you follow it and you can't just like make up or deny things and it is confusing. I understand that there's different rules for the other league to this league, but it's just like shouldn't be as difficult as I feel like they make it and the thing is, is that it because they know there's going to be people who maybe didn't read the rule book? Or even though that's annoying, I'm sure if you're owning a league like I'm sure Josh also deals with this in his league Like there's people who don't read the rules and then he has to enforce them. Right.

Speaker 1:

And then people are annoyed by it and he's like well, I gave you the rules to read Sure sure, Of course. But you do know that people aren't going to do that. Yeah, and so before before a big game like that or something, maybe just have a huddle with the team captains and be like hey, just a reminder, like this is in this league. You know these things aren't allowed, you know. I know some of you play in both leagues, so just a reminder, you can't do this in this.

Speaker 2:

So he did that, that and for sudden death. Then why not?

Speaker 1:

just say also there's two more refs. He came over they went to both sides.

Speaker 2:

So many things could have been avoided with just a little extra communication, and it's just like my team worked so hard and everyone.

Speaker 1:

That's a testament to communicating Exactly.

Speaker 2:

So I stepped out. But some people and I didn't even go out that night because, again, I was supposed to be on a flight with Allison the next day and, like most of the team, ended up going out. And then they got all jazzed about it and decided to keep Lucille's balls going and I was like, thank you, and no, I'm done. Thank you so much.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think if you just have a little bit of time away, I haven't, because I so here's the thing is I had already told me or hours before.

Speaker 1:

I had told Brendan I would play, and then they text me and I was like brendan I would play, and then they text me and I was like I will, I'm willing to maybe sign up for both if josh is also gonna play. Sure, it would be hard for me to do two days in a row playing dodgeball when I've already committed to one. And I think you know me, I'm, I feel I'm a people pleaser yeah I feel bad.

Speaker 1:

I've already told one someone that I could do it, yes, and like, had days of them being like, yeah, I don't need to find another person for her. It's just, that's my nature okay, and I could very easily, because josh is like you can just text him and be like hey, I actually can't do it, true, sure, but it's just like it's not me and but I didn't you. I had already talked to you also and you were like I feel like they have like 20 people already so that's what they made.

Speaker 2:

you were like, I feel like they have like 20 people already, so that's what they made it sound like they only have eight as of yesterday.

Speaker 1:

Oh well then Josh and I might still play. But I was like I will play if Josh plays, because I can go back and forth. I could be like Brendan I can't play this week because I need I'm going to play with them. I can't play both days, um so, I'll text, I'll communicate today and maybe.

Speaker 2:

But being signed up on two leagues is very stressful for me. Jack is the team captain, but sass is kind of like handling all the signups.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, I could potentially go back and forth and be like this week I'm playing tuesday, next week I'll play wednesday, type vibe, and that will make me feel a little less stressed.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but we'll see so, yeah, I'm done, I have told Allison. I think that I'm going to try volleyball.

Speaker 1:

I'm like kind of excited about that.

Speaker 2:

The teams are not big. I thought that they were like is it like four or six? Four or six yeah. I like a six person and I used to play. Yeah, you'll be really good at timing thing of like when to jump, I used to play six person, both beach and indoor in indianapolis and I had a great time.

Speaker 1:

Is the net shorter for shorter people?

Speaker 2:

no oh, so it's not great for me but, fun but I like to be the setter.

Speaker 1:

I like to set the ball up for the hitters or so we can practice if you want. I don't have a volleyball on hand, but we can get one pretty sure.

Speaker 2:

So yes, and then that moves us into travel. So yeah, allison and I were going to fly together and Alex came home from dodgeball with a half clean apartment, stanley, not bathed or packed and not even a suitcase pack. I got home at like 10 30 and I was picking Allison up at five and I still had two things. I had two deadlines I had to finish for work and I was literally like oh no, I think.

Speaker 1:

I'm having a heart attack.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was like this is crazy. My heart is going to jump into an, like the arrhythmia problem that I have, and I like laid on the stairs. Like laid on the stairs and I was just like just regulate, regulate, regulate, calm myself down. And then I was like just check to see how expensive it would be to move your flight.

Speaker 1:

Because Southwest usually has like free changes right.

Speaker 2:

Well, south fucking West, I didn't know. The bags aren't free anymore.

Speaker 1:

They're not.

Speaker 2:

Did you check a bag?

Speaker 1:

Yeah $35.

Speaker 2:

I was like are bags not free anymore?

Speaker 1:

And she was like nope that's done. I don't remember paying.

Speaker 2:

I wonder if it literally started the day that I went there Because the flight that we were on, I said that I was checking a bag and it didn't prompt me to pay. I'm checking the bag at the kiosk and it was like $35. And I was like wait. And so I was like let me go to the desk. I went to the desk.

Speaker 1:

I was like hey it's charging me I didn't have to pay for the first one.

Speaker 2:

So it wasn't. It was free to. I mean, you just pay the difference of the flight, like they don't care if you change a flight. Um, and it caught it was a hundred bucks, so I was like a hundred dollars to be have another. I have a full day to get my things in order. Get Stanley Well, I had even was like nope, I'm going to power through. And I got over the panic attack. I took Stanley to his sitters for the week. So I got home at like 1140 and I was just like no, like what. How am I like actually going to regulate myself and feel like I can get to the airport in time? So I changed my flight text.

Speaker 1:

Allison, I was like you're going to wake up to this and I'm sorry, but I actually woke, cause I wake up so many times in the middle of the night. I actually saw it at like one and I I didn't, I couldn't respond at that time, but at least I knew and I, like Josh, woke up and saw that I was on my phone and he was like what's happening? And so I was able to be like hey, I need you to take me.

Speaker 2:

And he was like okay, I'm glad that you told me now instead of him up and yeah, so it ended up it was fine so it and it did work out like I had a. Then I had that full thursday to get my stuff in order night no, I left friday very early so I had all day thursday.

Speaker 2:

I was able to like get all my work done. Stanley, I didn't pick him up, I just kept him there. I was like are you okay keeping him even though I'm technically here? And she was like yeah, which made me feel better, because then I was like he's never stayed with her before. What if something goes wrong?

Speaker 3:

yeah, it was probably so that gave me peace of mind too.

Speaker 2:

I was like how did he, how'd he sleep? How's he doing during the day? Whatever? Got my house all clean, you know, did everything from like empty my fridge, got all the work submitted and then I was able to like leave in peace. So it was, it worked out. And then my sister picked me up and I didn't miss out on anything. Her we got home with plenty of time before her birthday party and what were you going to?

Speaker 1:

was it just going to be hanging out?

Speaker 2:

Had I gone with you. Yeah, yeah, so it was something planned, I was going to go see Heather and, like the new youth theater offices she's working at and like, just have a day to just do nothing, because the, the, the, the one downside I would say to this, the how this happening, is that I didn't stop until I got there, I didn't either.

Speaker 2:

Today's the first day like I'm working remote today, so I'm like breathing for the first time. But truly, caitlin picked me up, we got to her house. We had two hours before her party. Heather came to her party so I could like hang with her there. Heather says I'm literally on guys. I went to bed at 1am Thursday morning, with which I was like I'm going to be tired. It's fine, I can sleep on planes, everything's going to be done. So I'm going to feel good. But I got up at two 45 to leave for the airport, to park my car at the Hilton.

Speaker 2:

I don't even think that you should have gone to sleep, I did think about that, and I didn't get into a deep sleep, so it wasn't like hard to wake up snooze yes and I did sleep on both planes, but it's plain sleep, it's not like real no, yeah, you know. So then yeah, landed caitlin's birthday party. Kids up really late heather. Stayed till like one. I'm like at the kind of tired where you start to feel like drunk and I was like I gotta go to bed. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Well, went to bed, had to be up to. I helped was helping Caitlin take her dog to the sitters at eight and and Then we got back, loaded up, went to Cedar Point and then it was just nonstop.

Speaker 1:

At least you had adrenaline from the coasters.

Speaker 2:

Truly did. Cedar Point was amazing. I had a great time, and then we drove back from Cedar Point Monday night.

Speaker 1:

You were there for two days right.

Speaker 2:

Three days Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Speaker 1:

I don't know how you guys do it, don't know either, but we did it.

Speaker 2:

We did it hard.

Speaker 1:

My neck and head hurts thinking about it.

Speaker 2:

It's just it's just too fun to resist. We drove back that night, though, after a full day at Cedar Point, so I drove, which is like what? Two hours? It's about two and a half, yeah, and then uh. So I had one day left, tuesday. I tried to sleep in but Caitlin and Kyle bless her. I mean it's a lot, the kids are a lot and Caitlin and Kyle are is a lot. So I woke up to go to the bathroom and Lydia was awake already.

Speaker 1:

It was like 8am. She zoned in on you and she was like let's go.

Speaker 2:

She was like I'm hungry. I'm hungry. And I was like are your mom, are mom and dad awake? And she was like no, oh, he knows hungry. And I was like, okay, so I stayed up, I made her breakfast and I was like it's my last. I can be tired to spend time with her and Josh.

Speaker 2:

So then I was just up and I was up and then we had, we went to my mom and dad's and played in the yard and mom made dinner and she did the classic. You know, you could have food like this every day. And then I went back to Keelan and Kyle's and I was just telling Allison that like I was like, oh, it's gonna be a pretty easy morning, my dad's gonna pick me up because I was flying out. Allison that like I was like oh, it's going to be a pretty easy morning, my dad's going to pick me up Cause I was flying out of Fort Wayne, guys, which is like 20 minutes from where my parents or where my sister lives.

Speaker 2:

It's like easy morning. My flight's at 10 11. The airport is tiny, I don't need to be there until nine, 15. And I got a text right before I went to bed that my flight was delayed night before. So the text said the aircraft that was going to come in is has maintenance issues and they're working on they had to change planes and the plane they were changing to wasn't going to make it there in time.

Speaker 2:

Got it, fine. I'm not going to try to force a plane that needs maintenance. It's cool, it's cool. But then I was supposed to. I was a workday, wednesday, so I was like and everyone knew it, so it was just remote working, but everyone needed me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's how it goes obviously, and I was like oh, three hours ahead, does give me some leeway, that was actually nice for me. But the team that needed me was in New York, so they were on the same time and I was. So, on the plane, I'm working on my layover, I'm working on the second plane, I'm working, and then I land and then I'm still working. I get back home and I'm working. Then I went on a date.

Speaker 1:

And today's the first.

Speaker 2:

And then I went this was yesterday, right Wednesday, oh no. Then I had Thursday. I was in the office, I had to shoot. I had to be there 8 am yesterday. I was like if I don't move my body I'm going to die. So I went to the gym, I went to the grocery, I got home at 11 30 pm, anyway. So really that's my update. You guys work, things are good. You're about to start seeing my face on the buzzfeed channel. We just got the first edit.

Speaker 2:

That's very exciting and I just got added to another show. So Lots happening at work and I quit one of my jobs.

Speaker 1:

Which one? Well, you don't have to say.

Speaker 2:

I quit the one that I had to do every night till like midnight.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I actually I think I said that early today. I was like I think that he's like down and going to be down a job, so like that will be helpful.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, my, I didn't realize how much of a burden it was. And then, when it have to quit, he was like hey, I can't afford you anymore. It was like all right, oh, like, totally understand. I'm glad you pulled the trigger because my people pleaser ass was going to try to hold it out for another month yeah and then I was like oh my god, I have my nights again that's I can literally go to bed.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you can go to bed earlier and yeah, at least so, even though I've been so busy just not having that, I mean, he, he let me go right before June 1st. So like, since I've been home, like I was going to do that work every night after Cedar Point, no, and just being like, wow, I don't have to, yeah, it's pretty great.

Speaker 1:

Good, I'm glad.

Speaker 2:

That's my updates.

Speaker 1:

So rewinding. I did leave at 5 am you did yes. And it was fine Like nothing. And it was fine Like nothing to complain about, other than you know how I really hate when people stand up in the aisle, me too. I say this every time I travel, and I've traveled so much Like you'd think at some point I would get over it. No, it makes me more mad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, of course.

Speaker 1:

So in my first flight I was going to somewhere Denver or something.

Speaker 2:

It was Denver.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

I decided. I'm not letting someone stand in the aisle, but I'm not gonna stand were you in an aisle seat I?

Speaker 1:

was in an aisle seat I prefer side note, if you care to hear they do. I prefer the aisle seat because I don't want to be trapped in if I need to get up and use the restroom if I need to get up and get something out of my bag that's up high. Don't want to have to ask people. The only downside is that I can't really easily control the little air thing.

Speaker 2:

If I'm not with someone. I know Could you please open that and aim it at me please.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's a weird thing. It's like so weird. I feel like they could figure out a different way. But it doesn't matter, I'm usually fine because I feel like it's usually cold anyway. True, I like the aisle seat. So I am sitting there and I'm like I there's a straight male to the right of me, um, and he's the only one in the in that row who's sitting in the middle seat and I was like he's gonna try to stand and I don't want this. So I said you know what I, before we stopped, I put the um armrest armrest up the aisle one, the aisle, one which is so hard to do it is but I saw someone the release.

Speaker 2:

Show me on tiktok, yeah, yeah and so I.

Speaker 1:

As soon as it happened, I just swiveled in the seat and put my feet in the aisle. Cute. So that I wasn't standing and being. You know the problem that I hate. Yes. And that this person couldn't stand in my and have their butt in my face, right, and that was a great thing. I tried to do that on a flight coming home. Yeah, the man did not care. He said I'm going to stand here, you're going to have to move your feet. Basically, I was astounded.

Speaker 2:

The audacity.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was crazy. And then I and then I like kind of had my bag in the aisle and he did not care. He put his wife's bag and then had her stand in front of him and I was just looking up at them because I was so close, I was inches away from this man and I was looking at, being like is it like? I can't understand how it's that serious to you right to have to stand and wait just as long?

Speaker 1:

yeah, as I'm gonna walk right behind you yeah so like the time you're saving is like a hundredth of a millisecond.

Speaker 2:

I don't even, I don't, I don't know, but it's minute.

Speaker 1:

It just doesn't. I don't get it and don't talk to me about oh, I'm tall and I've been sick.

Speaker 2:

Get an exit road. We've all been sitting and get an exit and I have get an exit row.

Speaker 1:

we've all been sitting and get an exit and I have sciatica. So what? Yeah, sorry, anyway, that was that's my you know yearly rant on that, sure, but I flew there and it was fine. I got in and the rental car situation took way too long for no reason. I first of all. They moved the enterprise, so I walked to the wrong area because I was like enterprises to the left. Yeah they moved.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't had to walk all the way to the right okay and then, when I finally got the car, I drive to the little kiosk where they just like verify your information and they'll be like if you, if you haven't already put your credit card on file, which you should beforehand because it makes it so easy to do. But they'll take your credit card then, and then they'll just be like okay, see you later. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I am behind this big truck and 10 minutes goes by, which it should take literally one and a half minutes, yes, Up there. Maybe two and a half if you didn't pre put in your credit card information, but shouldn't take 10. So I'm sitting there and I'm like what is taking so long? And this man is talking to the woman who is working in the kiosk and they're just going back and forth. It doesn't seem like they're arguing, but it's like they're just continuing to talk. Okay.

Speaker 1:

And she's like pointing at things. So I think he, he, there's obviously an issue. And after 10 minutes she comes and she walks to my car and she's like, hey, I need you to move back, like back up, and then you can go in the line over there. And I was like okay, so they have like probably like seven cars have accumulated behind me at this point and I back up and as I'm turning to go in the line over there, people from the back of the line behind me see me do that and they race to beat me into the other line and I'm like no way Like what is happening here. So he had to back up and leave. Then I had to wait another like probably like five to seven minutes behind the people that I was behind for. So it just like what should have taken me under five minutes took me like over 20 minutes.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, and it seems not that long. Maybe it was a half hour, I don't know. It was a while that I was sitting there, so that started, and then there was a wreck on the on four 65, the big loop, uh, interstate in Indianapolis, so I was like sitting on the highway for so long so I didn't end up even getting home until like I don't know nine. Oh, my God. So it was. It was a long day but it was fine, and then I went to my niece's dance recital the next night.

Speaker 2:

How was that Gorgeous. She looked so cute.

Speaker 1:

Thank you. She was in like six or seven dances now. She went from like three to six or seven, um, and it was very cute, very long show. Oh, as they are, so long as they are and um so I met reagan, my best friend from home, her boyfriend I met him.

Speaker 1:

Well, I hadn't met him already but, like, I spent time with him and he was like you guys, like you keep calling this a recital and he was like that's not a recital. He's like a recital is like three people with like playing the piano for like their grandparents and it's like a half hour max and then you're gone. He was like that, what just happened? It was like a full-on show. Yeah, he was. I don't know what word he used, but he was like you guys, like for someone who doesn't know this world. He was like I was unprepared yeah, I bet because reagan he went to watch reagan.

Speaker 1:

She was in like an adult tap class. Yeah, they were in the opening oh and then she sang a song in like the fifth number, like or before the fifth number, and so then they were. He was there for the rest of the time with people he didn't know like she would be like point out when daphne was in a dance, but he didn't know anyone else. He was like and I sat there for three hours.

Speaker 2:

I was like you know what good job.

Speaker 1:

so then the next day I was meant to go to the recital again but my nephew had a soccer game and if they lost then he wouldn't have gotten to. I wouldn't have gotten to see him play on Sunday. If they won they would have played again on Sunday. So I went to the first act of the dance recital to watch her dance. A couple of dances again left to intermission, drove an hour to the soccer field to watch the soccer game Cause it worked out that I would have been able to make it yeah, um, and got to watch him play.

Speaker 2:

So lots of yeah, um, and got to watch him play. So lots of did he win, they lost.

Speaker 1:

So I'm glad I went, yeah, and then the next day was just like a day of chilling. Yeah. Yeah, Just, we cooked out, went on a bike ride, I made my rounds on parents and everything and then I came home. So very quick. Did you come home Sunday or Monday? Monday, but I had breakfast with my um sister, the kids, my dad and then I had to drive to. Indy.

Speaker 1:

So it was like not much of a Monday. It was like just have breakfast and then leave. And then, um, my plan was a little bit delayed in Minneapolisneapolis, but I don't know, so it was a very quick trip, okay. Literally didn't see a single soul outside of my family except other than at the day. Yeah, I stayed with ray and, but other than at the dance recital, it was like that.

Speaker 2:

So same family time and heather very good, very good trip.

Speaker 1:

I was messed up on the time change because I going there, coming back both.

Speaker 1:

Oh, like the whole time it was like I got there and even though I was getting a good amount of sleep, I was still so tired, yeah, and then, like the day was full of things and then I would go to bed at like midnight again, because midnight here is, or midnight there is nine o'clock here, which is early to go to sleep, sure. And then by the time I was leaving and I got back here, I was like now I'm waking up at 7 am here, yeah, because it's I don't know, it was a lot, but that was it. Wow, yeah, you haven't told us about the AMAs.

Speaker 2:

Oh right, so before I, this is why the week was insane, you guys? Yeah, well, we had to also.

Speaker 1:

I guess we still had to record because we were both gone, but so many things happened before that.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so I went to Vegas with the show. The episode has come out. Have you seen it? I didn't send it to anyone.

Speaker 1:

I haven't send it to anyone. I think maybe I'm not following Buzzfeed. Maybe I need to follow.

Speaker 2:

Buzzfeed. Buzzfeed celeb. Yeah, I mean, I was logged into your YouTube when I watched it, so it would be in your like recently. Um yeah. So I went to Vegas to shoot the red carpet AMAs. But what we? What I didn't know is that, like they were, they rolled out the red carpet for us. We stayed at the Fontainebleau and the PR team there just set us up. We had the nicest rooms and we had.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, your room did look nice it was so nice.

Speaker 2:

We had our meals covered every day. We had a care package with fresh pressed juice, water bottles, macarons.

Speaker 1:

This is the PR team of the American Music Awards no of the hotel. Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

When they were like Is this?

Speaker 1:

a new hotel.

Speaker 2:

It is Okay. It used to be another hotel I can't remember what it's called Right by the convention center across from Circus Circus, and they closed it like five years ago and they've been renovating it it just a year ago, okay, and like look, when I go to vegas, you guys I'm kind of bitchy, like I still yeah, it's only the aria this rivals the aria it was. I was like oh my god, okay, the food was insane was it a celebrity chef place or?

Speaker 1:

you're talking about like room service all of it room service.

Speaker 2:

We ate at two of the like six restaurants Wait, yeah, two of the six, but it was. The hotel is where the AMAs were being held. They have like a huge theater and the red carpet was there as well, so it was just so convenient.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you didn't have to get a car over.

Speaker 2:

No, we just had to walk through the casino to get to where we needed to go. But anyway, they really took care of us and they we were VIPs. So we went to our own check-in area. There was like a lounge we could access whenever for like free coffee and snacks and that's nice. We had a welcome drink of our choice when we got there.

Speaker 1:

And what was your choice?

Speaker 2:

Um, vodka soda with lime. Joyce got tequila on the rocks and he goes tequila straight up on the rocks. Yes, baby Um, but Joyce is a pretty well-known creator. I didn't realize the amount of people that would just like randomly in the hotel that would see us walking and be like joyce yeah, run up to her, she's also.

Speaker 1:

She appears on like try guys videos also try guys videos.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like she's just been. I mean she's been in. She was telling me I can't remember the number, but over a thousand buzzfeed videos and like viral pieces of content.

Speaker 2:

So she was also very humbled by it, like she was not expecting this I mean to the point where, like we were going to my car at the end, when we were checking out, a guy walks off the elevator and he elevator and he had really cool braids and she was like I love your braids, baby, and he goes. Oh, thanks, joyce. And we were like literally walking in the elevator. She was like, yeah, and he's like, every night after work I come home I watch your concert, I love you so much.

Speaker 1:

She was like, oh, my god thank you it was like crazy that's how I feel, because people really only do that to caitlin. And I'm standing there, I'm like do you want me to take your picture?

Speaker 2:

yeah, can I hold your stuff for you? Um, no, but the amas were good. We got to interview a lot of great people. We got Becky G Kehlani, heidi Klum they're all in the video, you guys, if you want to watch it, I'll have to watch. And then we went to the after party and I danced with David Guetta and it was the most intimate.

Speaker 1:

You know David Guetta.

Speaker 2:

I know David Guetta.

Speaker 1:

It was a pitch perfect. Oh, oh oh, what does she say? Of course I don't live under a rock or something like that.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, but good on you for knowing the quote. Um, when we were like, when we got access they're like you guys, we'd like you to come to the AMAs after party I was like this is gonna be a massive club. Rebecca Black was the DJ. I was like standing next to her.

Speaker 2:

I saw your video and I was like, wow, rebecca Black, there she is, there she is DJing and, yeah, just like filled with celebs, and we were all just standing at the bar together. It was really fun. It was like a really awesome experience. Joyce did amazing. People really enjoyed our chemistry. They ended up putting a lot of me in the video. Um, chemistry, they ended up putting a lot of me in the video, which was nice, and, um, yeah, uh, a little bit, I'll tell you this off camera actually, but there was like kind of a shady moment with someone that I know who was on the carpet and I was just like this is weird and it's tea.

Speaker 1:

It's, um, sometimes I forget about being cause I guess sometimes there have been times where I've been in an intimate setting like that where celebrities have been there and you have to pretend like you don't care or know them, or then you're weird. And I was at one of my friends um parties and a Backstreet Boy was there. I forget which one, maybe AJ or was it someone from NSYNC, I don't know. It was a boy band I know was it lance no, because that's kind of normal.

Speaker 1:

Lance is kind of normal now, yeah, not that I'm friends with him, but like he's just everywhere, he's just everywhere. No, this was, I want to say aj, I don't know, it was a boy band person and oh no, it was in sync and it was was JC's just and I I know you know some teeth about him and so I think I was telling people that at the party what the heck, what am I doing?

Speaker 1:

But I had to pretend like I didn't know him. And then I was standing at the bar and he was like introducing himself to people and like, hey, I'm or people. Someone was like talking to him and he was like, oh, what do you do? I'm jc and I was just standing there being like duh like.

Speaker 1:

We know you, but like the whole like thing about like la hollywood is you have to pretend like you don't know anyone, right, and it's such a weird thing yeah it's like I definitely know who you are and I'm definitely freaking out on the inside, but I have to be like, oh, it's so nice to meet you. What Anyway?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was. It is like that. Yeah, you do have to be like that. But like when she interviewed Jordan Childs and then we ran into her in the elevator cause we were staying on the same floor and she was like see you at the afters girl is way less taboo to be like oh my God.

Speaker 1:

Like because I don't know an athlete, it's way easier to be like wow, congratulations on your medals. Like obsessed with you, like everything. Because I think that athletes to me maybe not like a big pro football player or a big basketball player, but people who are maybe not that that big even though she is, I don't know she just feels like she seems more approachable to to be like and also like more humble about it and not acting like this.

Speaker 1:

She was pretty like a list celebrity that don't talk to me like. It feels like someone who's an olympian or something it's like way more approachable to talk to.

Speaker 2:

I don't know well, that was my experience being there and doing it. But let's talk about the amas themselves, because you guys, what a weird show I actually didn't watch, so I've been, I was there, yeah. But I have been to the amas before in vegas, at when they were held at the t-mobile arena, a bigger theater, and it was epic. It was like justin b, justin Bieber, was making his comeback. I saw Britney Spears perform. That was the year she performed her medley Okay, where she was like on the guitar, like it was like mind-blowing to see in person.

Speaker 2:

Guys, this show was whack Like. First of all, they only announced six awards. Honestly. Taylor Swift was not there. She's the most uh decorated American music award winner, um the two of the performances pre-recorded. Gwen Stefani was not there, even though on the marquee outside Gwen Stefani live AMAs um people introducing acts or people coming up, all pre-recorded.

Speaker 1:

I wonder was it just cheaper?

Speaker 2:

So I think it's because the American Music Awards show has not. This is their first time back in two years. They took two years off and it was supposed to be this huge comeback. Six awards Now. Traditionally the American Music Awards do they have 15 award announcements, but there's like 30 that they give out. Six is crazy. Yeah, it's so fast was it like the six an hour long there's a two-hour show of the six. Two of the people were there. We got a pre-recorded m&m message. We got a pre-recorded billy eilish message.

Speaker 1:

We got a pre-recorded yeah I wonder if, because it was coming back for the first time, if the celebrities were kind of like we don't know what this is gonna be, so we're not gonna commit to come could?

Speaker 2:

be. I will say, though, of like and like. I had to film content of her like being jazzed about being there, and she and I were just like you gotta put on your acting shoes but two performances were j-lo's. What she kissed a girl like it was weird yeah, I heard a lot of.

Speaker 1:

I think that j-lo and katie perry, unfortunately, are just on the same trajectory of I don't know what they could possibly do to really be cool again and not only that, but like j-lo is just, she's just got a fucking attitude like so she's I.

Speaker 2:

We could see her like when she was on camera being like that, and now we're gonna be the way this woman would be like, and as soon as the camera cuts, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or like okay, so the two things that were good and this ties into JLo Gloria Estevan performed and like we made friends with one of her backup singers and we got his call. He's like when you're in Miami, I'm going to show you around. Um, she was amazing, but like JLo introduced, introduced her and then the camera was on j-lo the whole time because j-lo, like, like you know, attributes a lot of her inspiration to gloria and gloria, like at the end, like things are, and jill's, like camera pans away from j-lo, arms at her side, walks away, just like yeah, I didn't want to be there.

Speaker 2:

It's like yeah, of course but gloria's performance so good janet's, janet jackson yeah I was just like she, she's never not gonna be. And she opened it with that song that you showed me when we left Disney, that I hadn't heard before.

Speaker 1:

It's such I want. Okay, what's the name of it? I, I never know names of things.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, but I recognize I was like oh, this is the song.

Speaker 1:

Can you cause all it record a cover of the Janet song.

Speaker 2:

It's going to drive me crazy. Hold on, find it.

Speaker 3:

Find it. Find it Other girls in the party look at that bunny sticking that thing.

Speaker 1:

Oh, Someone to Call my Lover.

Speaker 2:

Well, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, yes, yes. She opened with this.

Speaker 1:

Great song. I think Alex would sound good. I want him to cover it. So please yell at him. And want him to uh cover it, so please uh yell at him and tell him to do it she was performing because she was getting the icon, whatever award as she should and the whole time she just thanked jesus christ and how we should turn everything to god.

Speaker 2:

Go janet, but she was. She's so like, she's in her 60s and she's so effortlessly talented yeah that like she was basically marking the whole time, but it looked full out. I don't know how to explain it, but it was just like the way she was.

Speaker 1:

It was like, oh, she does like really small, really tight movements.

Speaker 2:

But then like will kick up something really intensely at the exact time that the dancers are doing it. That makes it be like yeah. She is a performer.

Speaker 1:

She's a born performer. Her performance ends.

Speaker 2:

It's fun to watch BTS. Oh, and also, renee Rapp's performance was amazing, but it's so fun to watch like the BTS of things because she ends and then the person comes up to like and to give. I'm here to give the award to Janet for whatever right. The team that rushes the stage, takes her coat off of her P brushes the stage, takes her coat off of her, puts a fur coat on her fixes her hair and her makeup and then like walks her over.

Speaker 2:

It was just like seamless and anyway it was. It was a really, but the show I was just like that's it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was going to go back and watch it and then I heard people be like okay, so I didn't.

Speaker 2:

It was really more mad like I was getting my bags. Uh, I like left them at the front desk so we could have breakfast and then pick them up. When I was picking them up, there was a couple there. He saw my tattoo poking out of my shorts. He was like indiana and I was like yep, he was like whereabouts, it's like fort wayne. Oh yeah, I know fort wayne.

Speaker 2:

You know this white couple usually goes wife and she was like, were you, did you, were you one of the performers last night? And I was like, no, no, I'm here with BuzzFeed. So we were on the red carpet and she was like, what did you think of the show? And I was like, honestly, it wasn't that great. She's like, yeah, we paid more than two. Our tickets each were more than two tickets, like we could have bought two tickets each to be on, say, for what one ticket costs us to come to this. And I can't be like we can't believe how bad it was.

Speaker 1:

Why would you ever do that? Because I don't understand buying a ticket to go. I understand if you get asked to go, or maybe there's a lottery system or whatever there is, like the people in the pit.

Speaker 2:

Those are people that don't have to pay.

Speaker 1:

It's like real fans, but they stand there all day to do it which I would never do, but I feel like much like going to the super bowl just to see the halftime performance. It's like it's not catered to the present audience.

Speaker 2:

It's for television and awards shows are for, but the amas historically have been filled with performances like I mean that britney, I saw the britney medley right and justin bieber perform. What do you Mean on a half pipe. That's what the AMAs was.

Speaker 1:

But still the performance is. The visuals are Catered to camera. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Sure they are, but this woman was like we go to so many award shows, it must be a thing they do. Yeah. But she just couldn't believe how bad it was they were going to try to get their money back and I was like Ooh, someone, can I give you your money back? No, you went, you stayed for the whole show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and like nothing crazy happened. No. Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Something crazy did happen and I saw it happen. Live with Shabuzy. Did you see that? No. So he and some, or Alex Cooper? Yeah, I think it was Alex Earl. I know Alex Cooper.

Speaker 1:

Alex Earl yeah, I do, I think.

Speaker 2:

I heard something. Looks like she's probably a bitch, but I'm sure she's lovely. She and Shaboosie were announcing the award for best country artist and in the you should look this clip up. It's crazy. We went viral for a second. So, she's like and we can't forget about I don't know the band, some old band, the Carters, who basically invented country music. And he goes because black people invented country music, you guys, just for the record.

Speaker 1:

Everything, everything. Yes, for the record, most things.

Speaker 2:

I just like it's like that's just so common knowledge, like for her to even like go along with I know she was. She didn't come up with the speech, it's just on a prompter yeah then I know that he knows that too, and he was like, oh, I'm gonna he obviously yeah, they rehearsed it, he just wanted it to be known that he didn't approve, yeah yes, and I love that he did that yeah and literally like I watched it live.

Speaker 2:

Joyce was going to the bathroom so she missed it, but everyone in my section, we all went, oh yeah, it's interesting that you know some things just don't get like seen by multiple people to be like.

Speaker 1:

Should we tweak this?

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm glad you had a good time. Regardless of that, what else have we? Have we caught up on all the things?

Speaker 2:

I think we're all caught up, and now we're here.

Speaker 1:

We're here Happy.

Speaker 2:

Pride Month.

Speaker 1:

Happy Pride Month. Um, and speaking of pride, yeah, the Wicked 2 trailer has come out. Have you seen it?

Speaker 2:

So many times. I've only watched it once. It's also my A-list of the week, so I'll reiterate all this, but I wept.

Speaker 1:

Well, we can save it for that then. Okay, some other things, welcome back. Yeah, stay tuned for our thoughts on the Wicked trailer. Yeah, stay tuned for our thoughts on the Wicked trailer. Some news that has come out, since we have been not recording, which is a week and a half yeah, the Chrisleys were released from prison, pardoned by Trump. Pardoned by Trump, which is I don't know the politics behind that. Does everyone pardon people? And I just am not aware of?

Speaker 2:

it? Sure, don't know either.

Speaker 1:

Has every uh president pardoned or pardoned whoever they wanted to pardon. I don't know, I don't want to talk shit. If that's like just the norm, I mean I don't know that it should be the norm.

Speaker 2:

I just can't believe it was on his priority list. I, I think that people lobby for that, because I think that I in some of the stuff I was reading like savannah had been in.

Speaker 1:

She was lobbying. Yes, yes, I think she had been in dc for a while trying to get either to get a meeting with him to ask, or had asked and was just waiting for paperwork to go through. I don't know like.

Speaker 2:

I think that she had been there well, she's highly favored by her parents, now for sure.

Speaker 1:

But the thing is yeah, the thing is is like I understand the whole. Like Kim Kardashian was lobbying for people who to be released, that were wrongfully convicted, and like all for that. But like they were not wrongfully convicted, like they just were like we don't want to be here anymore. Can you get us out? And I don't love that, like you did the crime do the time and it's like sure they didn't murder anyone.

Speaker 1:

They just like what was it? I think? I saw like $30 million, I think the word was defrauded. Oh, okay Banks, okay dollars, I think the word was defrauded okay, banks okay, like 30 million, don't know is that different than tax evasion? Like I don't understand, just like you did it yeah, you did it and I think it was like a combined like 19 years between the two of them and I think, like his might have been decreased a little bit.

Speaker 1:

The initial sentence was like years. I think his was like 12 and hers was 7 or something. Regardless, they were released and that's a thing. And now Joe Exotic is asking to be released.

Speaker 2:

I would love that, because I would love a Joe Exotic reboot show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and he has a new husband, which I've seen so many memes of people being like joe exotic has had like three husbands and like I can't even get a call back and, like two of his husbands, pretty hot yeah, I don't know about the one right now, but he also got deported, so okay he's joe's has it rough. He was convicted of like plotting or hiring a hitman to murder Carol Carol Baskin, yes. So he probably shouldn't be released either If he did that yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what the like um proof of that was. Honestly, I don't. It probably happened Knowing what we know Right, allegedly, I don't know. I guess he was convicted, so it can't really be alleged.

Speaker 2:

But he's also Gypsy. Rose Blanchard, she did her time.

Speaker 1:

She did her time.

Speaker 2:

She did her time. And no one was pardoning her, and she just had a baby and she's messy. She is messy.

Speaker 1:

Two of them going back and forth. She's texting Ryan, but she's also with the other one and she's like hey, ryan does my, don't I look cute in this dress. And then they're, the boys are fighting. It's a whole thing. And she also has no problem getting husbands. Nope. None. So all of you out there, don't be, don't give up. Don't give up don't be, don't give up. Don't give up, there's someone for you. You can. You can be a kind of murderer.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, kind of.

Speaker 1:

Allegedly, yeah, allegedly. I just say allegedly after things, even though, just to be safe, just to be safe.

Speaker 2:

Just to be safe.

Speaker 1:

Something else is the new survivor.

Speaker 2:

So ever. 50 cast was released and it is exciting, is there, legacy players, you're gonna be so excited because it's 50. They had to do something big yeah, you're gonna be really excited oh shit, at least by one of them poverty I don't think party okay. Well, how am I gonna be the?

Speaker 1:

one, the one that I think you're gonna be excited about, is mike white oh my god, it's back hell you guys don't know. Mike White is the creator of white Lotus and he and school. Oh my gosh, yeah, I forgot. I knew him from survivor, like I did not know this man. And the first time he was on survivor I was just like what a funny guy.

Speaker 1:

And he's like good at playing, yeah. And then when the white Lotus came out it was like this is Mike White and I was like how do I know that name? And then the connection was made and I was like that's so random.

Speaker 2:

And and and. Fun little tidbit he puts his survivor castmate cast members from his season in White Lotus.

Speaker 1:

So the first season, I know. The last season was Natalie you said right.

Speaker 2:

Who was the first and second, I can't remember.

Speaker 1:

So Seri is back, which I love, Seri, but maybe I'm kind of getting bored of it.

Speaker 2:

Is that bad? She's not. They're not. It's like she can't win again.

Speaker 1:

She hasn't won Survivor.

Speaker 2:

Yes, she has.

Speaker 1:

I thought she just won Traitors.

Speaker 2:

Traitors. I do that every time. I know you do. I'm so sorry. She's a winner in my head. She has not won Survivor.

Speaker 1:

She's a winner to her, to me. The last time she played she got out on a very crazy thing. It was when she got idled out because everyone had. She was in this like tribal, where there wasn't that many people left, and so many people either had immunity, idols or advantages that allowed them to be safe, and she literally got eliminated because there was no one else that could go.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she was the only one that didn't have some sort of advantage or an idol, and they were just like this has never happened before, but like unfortunately, like no one else can be voted for and so you have to go, and it was like really sad and whatever Cause she was playing really well, so Okay, and that actually and saying all that.

Speaker 1:

Maybe I'm excited for her to be back. I do love her, but it's kind of like all right, she's played so many times. Our friend megan is very excited about this because ozzy is back and our only fans king, our corn, our corn king. He yeah, he started only fans in between, like after he was on not on survivor anymore, and I was like there's no way they're gonna allow him to come back.

Speaker 2:

They don't care, they said you're back consensual intercourse for money. That's okay.

Speaker 1:

I mean it shouldn't be an issue I guess, like it's his. He's not being coerced to do it it's on his own thing and it's behind a paywall that is probably very regulated on whatever, so sure ozzy, but I just didn't think that the network would be is jerry back? Jerry so I'll redo the names now.

Speaker 2:

Jenna, she was on season one okay and then season eight colby, donaldson colby oh my god, I forgot about he's been gone for a long time, colby yeah, he's, he's a sweet stephanie lagrosa.

Speaker 1:

She was on season 10. Okay, you would recognize her. She has really curly hair. Okay, Seri Ozzy um coach, which when I saw your ponytail today I was like he's got a coach? I do have a coach.

Speaker 1:

Coach is back Aubrey Bracco. She's from a newish season season 38, but I I feel like you would maybe recognize her. I like her, chrissy. She's like a was. It was an older blonde, not older, but I think at the time she was older than other people. Uh, mike white rick devins he's. He was a fan favorite, I feel is kelly one of the kelly's back.

Speaker 1:

Kelly um no no, I think this is going in like their first season order. So these people coming on, I don't really remember. There's a couple seasons from a couple people, from the latest season, which who just were on yes are coming right back actually no, there's another season that's going to premiere before 50 premieres, because this says oh my god there's going to be two players from season 49, which premieres in this fall, so 48 is what just happened with the guy that our friend Karina knows that. I met the one time. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

He's not on here, unfortunately. Okay, okay, but I think you probably don't know anyone after Mike White.

Speaker 2:

No Cause that was 37. That's epic. So he's doing one more season of white Lotus, cause that was like 37. That's epic, so he's doing one more season of white Lotus. Then he's like hey guys, I'm going to go play survivor.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know if they're filming already or not. Well this because they already they're ahead that one.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, maybe they are Cause they do film twice a year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so I wonder yeah, but that's very exciting. If you guys um are not survivor people, I recommend maybe looking at this list and going I would watch one of Ceri's seasons. Yes, um, ozzy, I saw in a uh interview he was like I am not going to be like fishing and cooking for anyone anymore.

Speaker 2:

Put your foot down which? Was kind of an issue for him Like he would be kept around for that, the way he could spearfish.

Speaker 1:

And then they would kick him out.

Speaker 2:

Well, let's see. Maybe that's what he says, but then when he realizes it will work to his advantage.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it is a good thing, but he's just like so good at the immunity challenges.

Speaker 2:

So good Well was. Let's see, yeah, he's on, so many he's on.

Speaker 1:

He's like he had great, a great body and also a southern accent, right yeah, he's like a southern gentleman, he's like one of those people who also, like I don't feel like he wants to like really backstab or really he's a nice guy hurt people in order to get to the top, which is kind of probably a downfall I would like, I would like poverty and went where kelly wentworth.

Speaker 2:

That's the one.

Speaker 1:

I honestly thought kelly, I thought she, I thought in a like she's got at some point because she stays in the uh zeitgeist, if you will, because all of her content is around reality tv and jerry, which is a good strategy, jerry again yeah. So there you go. That was an exciting um thing that came out and I immediately text megan and I was like, did you see ozzy? And she was like, yes, I'm so excited hell, yeah, okay that love I know you don't care, but love island has premiered.

Speaker 2:

Love island usa has it were three days in for I think every day except hump day. Yes, saw the advertisement, yeah is it?

Speaker 1:

is it hump day? Oh yes. Saw the advertisement. Yeah, Is it? Is it hump day? Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

So every day about hump, day.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was Sundays, for some reason, was the day that they have off, but yes, it does air every day and I have already gotten behind because Josh refuses to watch it and he came over the other night and it was like we only had really time to watch one thing before we would be tired and I was like, okay, what do you want to watch?

Speaker 2:

And he was like you can choose, and I was like you don't want to say that to me.

Speaker 1:

And he was like I'm not watching Love Island. And I was like, okay, here's the thing is, I'm going to get behind. And he was like you're going to have to figure it out. Like I gave you one season, I can't do it again. I did get behind and then last night he was doing laundry, so I just snuck it on and I started it, and then he came in and I was like I just need to finish this episode. And then we ended up watching like one more and I was like, yes, well, I do have some tea, and that is that there's already been someone who's gotten removed because of off screen racism so which is wild to me, because here's my thing I have thoughts on people being canceled for things that they said when they were like 13 years old.

Speaker 1:

Like if you have a tweet when you were in middle school where you like called something gay or you're like use the r word. Obviously now, as we've grown up like, we know that using those words are offensive.

Speaker 2:

What's the R?

Speaker 1:

word.

Speaker 2:

Oh, right, okay. Don't make me say that. What's the R word?

Speaker 1:

Allie, you know, like people used to use the word gay in a derogatory way and but, but also it wasn't talked about. And like, hey, you shouldn't say it like that. Like people didn't talk about it then, yeah. And now, as we've gotten older, we're like, wow, why would we ever do that? That's a horrible thing to use in a negative like. It's not a negative thing, so why would it be used in a negative way? And then also like the r word. It's like back then it was used in a different way, but it was always not right to use that way. But when you grow up, you learn that and you learn what's appropriate and what's not appropriate and what's offensive and what's not offensive. And so like people being canceled for having a tweet from when they were in middle school like is kind of wild to me because you know, unless you see that person today slurring at people like let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

Speaker 2:

So you're saying this is what happened.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm setting this up to be like if that had been the case, I would have been like all right guys.

Speaker 2:

Oh, sure Got it.

Speaker 1:

This girl. There's a video of her which she looks exactly the same, so it can't have been that long ago. She's on a podcast, slinging n words like after one, like in a one sentence video podcast one sentence.

Speaker 2:

Said it like multiple times, like fast, and it was like whoa also to be so bold as to go on a reality show and think that that's not gonna bite you in the ass right, but she's cast which.

Speaker 1:

I don't know how the casting directors missed this, because if people on the internet found it within a day of the cast being announced. Yeah. So the first episode airs. I think that they saw so much negativity online that by the second episode she was removed. Wow yeah Wild.

Speaker 2:

Wild, but, but like say it on business, is there a couple from love island, a beautiful black woman and, uh, tall, curly haired mixed guy, that are still together? So oh kind of famous from last season.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yes, they just got engaged.

Speaker 2:

They're really cute do you know their name? We interviewed them on the red carpet.

Speaker 1:

That's why I'm asking yes, hannah, and or serena, and serena serena and cordell. Cordell, his brother, is the very famous football player um odell beckham jr oh.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

Not that you know him, but he he Cordell is his name and Serena. Yeah, Love them.

Speaker 2:

We interviewed them on the cover, she was so nervous. She was like please don't ask me anything crazy.

Speaker 1:

It was like no, no really sweet they're, they're beloved, and they just announced a spinoff show from loved like the core cast and people were like we don't care about a new season, we just want another season of them. So they got picked up for a um spinoff, but the rumors are, or maybe it's announced. I don't know, but Cordell isn't on that because I believe he's on traders. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Which is fun. That's cool. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So that will be incoming.

Speaker 2:

Very in love.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so that will be incoming very in love. Yeah, okay, but I'm enjoying this season. There's a couple people I am really annoyed by but loving. Um, there's a girl named uh shelly sorry it's. It's shelly, but with a ch. I don't know if it's shelly or if it's Shelly, but love her. Okay, she's my favorite. There's another girl, alondria, very sweet, like her. There's a cowboy named Taylor. Love him. Okay, it's a guy.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that'd be sorry, Cowboy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think those are my top three right now to be TV.

Speaker 2:

I can't wait for the weekly updates. Yeah, I don't watch.

Speaker 1:

And you don't want to. You can catch up.

Speaker 2:

I don't think I can. You saw that. Uh, the new season of Wednesday was announced with Lady Gaga. No oh my God, they did so. They announced it at some show and they were like, and we're so excited to announce a new member of the cast, lady Gaga. The Lady Gaga came out Stephanie Dermonata. She came out and did this whole performance with Jenna Ortega. Yeah. Was like at the head of this table and was part of the performance, and that was their way of announcing Gaga's in the new season of Wednesday.

Speaker 1:

Do we know what?

Speaker 2:

kind of character she's going to be. That's as much as I know. Hmm, and much as I know, and the performance was dope I wonder if she's gonna be like a professor I would love that, honestly.

Speaker 1:

That'd be fun yeah, yeah, that makes me excited. I love wednesday.

Speaker 2:

I finished the handmaid's tale does it have a good ending? I told you I'd watch.

Speaker 1:

I know, and this is why I'm bringing this up, because, if I'm being honest, yes and no great not watching no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1:

so there's the. There's two answers because the, there's the final episode and then the episode right before could have been the finale. To me, like, honestly, that episode incredible. It's exactly what you're looking for in terms of retribution and all of that. The, the finale episode, was just like a quintessential. We have to wrap up all these storylines, sure, and there's an element of it that's annoying to me. Okay, so it's not like, it's not good. And if it had ended on the previous episode, I would have been like wow, perfect, amazing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no notes Cried I haven't cried since the first season, I think um, but the the wrap-up episode was like I have issues with just the pacing of it and spending a lot of time on certain people and not enough on like that type of thing. But I think what you're looking for in terms of like justice being served, I think that you it will be worth it for you. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Did they do that? To leave it open ended for maybe a spinoff in the future?

Speaker 1:

Maybe, but I don't know what they're going to do. I guess possibly we can't talk about it Like I. We can't, I can't say what I need to say until you watch it.

Speaker 2:

I'll watch it if as long as you're saying that some sort of retribution happens yeah, they're like the main scene in the second to last episode is like wow does lydia die? Don't tell me, okay can't tell you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, what else? What's going on? What else do you have to talk about?

Speaker 2:

I'm. I think that, I think, that's it what else?

Speaker 1:

oh, the pacers, you guys. It's real serious over here. I'll be right back. The pacers are in the nba finals, which hasn't happened since 2000 how does josh feel about this? He was hurt yeah when we beat the nanks. But now he's happy because they fired their coach and he's hated that coach. So, he has hopes for because whatever they lost, it got them a a pick for recruiting people, Sure.

Speaker 1:

And then for them and then they'll get a new coach. So he's like come to terms with being happy, but he is always going to root against the Pacers. Because you can't be an ex fan and also.

Speaker 2:

Didn't know, but okay.

Speaker 1:

Deep rooted hatred between the two teams. So the Pacers haven't been in the NBA finals since 2000, 25 years ago, when Reggie Miller played Okay, and we have never won a national championship ever, like in the history of basketball.

Speaker 2:

Of the existence of Pacers.

Speaker 1:

In the existence of the pacers and it used to be like the aba used to be all like different things. We have never won, so it's a big deal for us to be there it really is.

Speaker 1:

And uh, game one was last night. After before this comes out, game two will have happened. I don't know what happened the whole time last night. We were behind, okay. So we're playing the oklahoma city thunder everyone. They're really good. Okay, everyone is like they're gonna win so easily, like sure, we are behind the whole game and it's not looking good. At one point we got up to like almost 20 points maybe it was like 16 or something, and it was like we were stressed about it and we're like it's not going to happen for us. We need to just lose this one and regroup and try to come back a little better next game. In the last, like there was 0.3 seconds to go. We had cut down the lead to. We are down one. Okay.

Speaker 1:

And in 0.3 seconds, Tyrese Halliburton, who's our like main player. I know him well, he drives, takes a shot, goes in. We win 0.3 seconds. There's not enough time for them to do anything that would be a crazy thing for them to do. So we won. It was very exciting. I mean, that does sound thrilling. Time for them to do anything? That would be a crazy thing for them to do. So we won.

Speaker 1:

it was very exciting I mean, that does sound thrilling it was thrilling because for some reason, this team loves to just be behind and then, in the last few minutes of the game, come back. Yeah, and it really is. It really is stressful yes for someone watching. Yeah, but we won game one and that's cool because no one thought we would.

Speaker 3:

Congratulations, pacers. So we have to keep going, we have to win three more. Okay.

Speaker 1:

To win, but I have hope.

Speaker 2:

I have hope too.

Speaker 1:

And since this is a sports podcast, I had to keep you abreast.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you, I appreciate that. I appreciate you sharing.

Speaker 1:

Okay, do you want to talk about your A-list of the week? Guys, it's time for a-list of the week my list.

Speaker 2:

I'm really sorry for that my list of the week, as you already know, is the wicked for good trailer tell me your thoughts I've never. I was taking a bath ew and I watched it as I was like filling the bath and then I got did your tears continue to fill up?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I actually made the bath overflow. I got super teary eyed and I was like no, but like oh, my God Cause remember, I was like I get why they needed to do it into two movies. But I was also kind of like why'd they have to do into two movies? But the visuals of this one, I'm like elfa looks edgier and yeah, they, they did it too, I think because time has passed between wicked and which you don't really get in the play, yeah, in the show, live performance. So, but like the little clips we were getting a for good and no good deed, I was like, oh, this is gonna be so it does look really good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was also a hater of the two movie thing and forgetting that so much time passes, because, yeah, on the stage it's like you come back and I guess it's implied, but it's also you don't really see it and seeing her like in her uh glinda and her home and she's like her wedding now she's the queen princess queen, queen queen gosh and she's like getting ready and I don't know it visually. Seeing the time that has passed does make some things. Have more, connect better, I feel like so I'm excited, stoked.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it's gonna be great I'm not excited for it to be so long again november's gonna come, so fast, so fast. I do need to sit in a better seat to watch it yeah, well, yeah, okay, so we're gonna like get tickets earlier yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

What's on your a-list of the week, allison?

Speaker 1:

okay, this is so not as cool as that, but I've become obsessed with um some sort of chapstick, a lip oil. No, which. Speaking of lip oils, why do they call it a lip oil when it's sticky? If, if you're telling me this is a lip oil to me, I want it to be oil consistency and be like hot take Is that hot? I just don't understand. Like call it a lip oil and then it's sticky to me because I hate sticky lip gloss.

Speaker 1:

I don't my hair gets stuck in it called lip sap yeah, actually something that really tells me it's sticky, because oil to me it feels slick and not sticky okay and that's my problem with that. Okay, no, I have become obsessed with this creamer coffee creamer nut pod no, okay, those are actually kind of gross.

Speaker 1:

It's like I have to be healthy and I don't want things to be sweet oh yeah, so I'm gonna go with nut pod, sure, which, like, if that's your journey, cool, yeah, no, they uh. Coffee mate, I believe, which I know this is chemicals, everyone. And like I have come to terms speaking of?

Speaker 2:

have you been drinking your coffee?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh okay. Coffeemate did a collab with the White Lotus with a Thai iced tea flavor. It's incredible.

Speaker 2:

Thai iced tea creamer. Yes, oh, actually that sounds pretty bomb it is incredible because it's kind of nutty. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But also sweet. It's the best creamer I've ever had in my life and you should run to go get some. Run, don't walk. I'm telling you that. But also you where'd?

Speaker 2:

you get it, did you get it? Uh, amazon, I got it at whole foods sprouts ralph's, it was either pavilions or amazon.

Speaker 1:

Okay, because that's where I go, which would be, but no pavilions is just pavilions, but I'm sure that's other places target maybe, I don't know going to ralph's today, so I'll look, please look, but it's in a purple thing and it says on the front like hbo presents the white lotus I love that, so I don't know. It's probably not going to be there forever, so I need you yeah, I want to try it, to get it okay it's my favorite thing, right and that is cool and I love that.

Speaker 2:

That's your list of the week and if you you've tried it, let us know.

Speaker 1:

And also, side note, a honorable mention coffee creamer is the Chobani chocolate chip cookie flavor.

Speaker 2:

Oh yum, Delicious. That does sound delicious.

Speaker 1:

So both of them you guys should get. Love it and I know that they're chemicals. Okay, everyone.

Speaker 2:

We know.

Speaker 1:

Do you want to hear the birthdays for today?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, today is June 9th. Yeah Well, who's born today?

Speaker 1:

Natalie Portman.

Speaker 2:

Natalie Portman. She is 42.

Speaker 1:

She's 44.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Johnny Depp is 58. 62. That shocked me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, older than my parents. Yeah, I assume he's had work done right, I don't know. Oh my gosh, lindsay Lohan. Have we talked about Lindsay? It's not plastic surgery, it's juice.

Speaker 1:

She's wild for that, if you guys aren't aware, lindsay Lohan did a interview in a magazine or something or an online thing and they asked her about what the work she's had done, Cause obviously she appeared a couple of years ago with this perfect face.

Speaker 2:

Not even a couple of years ago now.

Speaker 1:

I think it's been like a year face, not even a couple years ago now, I think it's been like a year, okay. Well, she like appeared when she reemerged back into acting and her face is so tight and wrinkled and like hydrated.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't look like a facelift or like overfilled. It looks kind of normal, but obviously not the same.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, cause she looks as young as she did yes, and we know what she was doing in between.

Speaker 2:

We've seen what was going on.

Speaker 1:

Also, this happened to Kris Jenner. Kris has not denied it. She just appeared with her new face, so we haven't heard her deny or corroborate she looks great. But in this publication Lindsay's like yeah, I haven't done anything, like I just, you know, know, I drink these juices and I use this skincare. And she was like I mean, everyone gets botox, so I have some botox. It's like you can own up to the botox yeah, but not the filler, not anything else.

Speaker 2:

These trends on tiktok, are people going me doing my lindsay lowe and juice and it's like them getting injections?

Speaker 1:

yeah, so wild. But johnny, I assume has had something, because he does not look in his sixties. No, stassi baby, do you know her? She's Kylie Jenner's like bestie. No, okay, well, she's 28. Some people would know her. Yeah. She's also like a famous influencer. Okay, michael J Fox, what's your?

Speaker 2:

66.

Speaker 1:

64. Okay, may Whitman, okay May Whitman.

Speaker 2:

Love May.

Speaker 1:

She's 36. Okay, and then Lori Hernandez, speaking of Olympians she's a baby 27. 25. Okay, lori, a baby, baby. That's all, though.

Speaker 2:

Also this week. Happy birthday to listener and supporter of the pod Heather. Her birthday is.

Speaker 1:

Happy birthday Heather.

Speaker 2:

Her birthday is this week as well, and We've been DMing.

Speaker 1:

She, um, was telling me about a podcast.

Speaker 2:

I should listen to. Yes, she was telling me, she was telling you. Happy birthday, heather.

Speaker 1:

Happy birthday. Well, that's all folks and we're done. Thank you guys for listening, and we are back in person, so we will be not pre-recording as of right now anymore. So if you have something to say, send it in, and we love to hear from you, so do that thank you so much bye, bye.
