Halloween Plans and Roller Coaster Anxieties

Speaker 1

I think that , like it's easy when you have , when you're in a relationship , you get excited and you want to do all the fun things . But he and I talked .

Speaker 2

Hi everyone , if you're just tuning in , We've been having a conversation not recording about our upcoming Halloween theme park . Halloween activities .

Speaker 1

And my boy is a ride warrior like myself . He also worked at Six Flags , like myself . Oh , I forgot that , hi , stanley so he likes a ride , which is very exciting . Now I will say and he's definitely listening to this that I believe you . I want to preface this by saying babe , I believe you , but I am still very nervous .

Speaker 2

That he's not actually up to your speed .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I guess it's not that he's not actually up to your speed .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I guess it's not that he's not , but like how much does he ?

Speaker 1

I'm gonna , I'm gonna , I'm gonna pass out panic attack . It's just , I am not . But megan is , but but see I if , even if he's your speed , I'm cool with that yeah because you still love a theme park . Yeah , you will ride things I just six flags rides .

Speaker 2

Now that I've been on them as a like younger person and an adult , that the type of jerkiness of those roller coasters really is . I don't know that . I'm built for it , because here's a difference that I see in us because I'm so much shorter , my head fully bangs against the over the head thing For sure , and when we went to Six Flags last year I was very headache nauseous .

Speaker 1

So , yes , and also you went with your boy and you guys like that was your first time doing that together and we had limited time with him so we were .

Speaker 2

There was no stopping , which , like I think , when you go on a ride and then you walk somewhere else or you grab a drink or whatever and you have like a good , like 20 something minutes in between . But we were literally like off the ride onto theo the next . Walk one minute onto the next and my head never got to recover .

Speaker 1

And I will also say that , like there are some rides at Six Flags , I do not do or like .

Speaker 2

Oh , I did go on one . I wasn't supposed to go on .

Speaker 1

Yeah , x2 . That's a shame , because it was like the first or second thing you did .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

But no , all this to say that I believe him but I'm a little nervous .

Speaker 1

You need to this has been told to me in the past that was a lie both times and it's like it's fine because , no , I understand that I am , I am the minority , me to like roller coasters this much and to not be really affected by them and to be so excited . And I don't need it to be that level . But like , I believe him , but I am a little bit like anxious to go do it so that I can see how much , once and for all , I think it'll be fine .

Speaker 1

Because nothing makes me more anxious , too , than , like in my last experience , was told yeah , I love roller coasters , yeah , I love haunted things . That wasn't the case . No shade .

Speaker 2

Haunted . Oh , I didn't know . That was told to you .

Speaker 1

Yes , so I took him to Fright Fest and then we were on the roller coaster and I was like , oh my God , so fun , I look over and I thought he was passing away . So like that also caused me anxiety . Like I never want you to roller coaster twisted colossus . I don't remember that one . I think I went on it , but I don't remember which is which . It's only the thing that's tattooed on my arm . Um , it's the wooden , and it's the wooden and steel one , the first one we all rode together I think , you go twice yeah , I think I liked that yeah I don't really remember .

Speaker 2

Okay , it's the best ride in the park um we were just talking about uh , going on the power tower yes , so not scary .

Speaker 1

Not berry farm aka not scary has a power tower equivalent . A power tower . If you're familiar with the midwest , at cedar point , ohio , america's roller coast , there is a rock and roller coast right , there is a launch slash drop ride , which you all , I'm sure , familiar with . It's called power tower . It's four to shoot you up to , uh , drop you but it knots , it's just three and it's called scream , which is confusing because at six flags there's a roller coaster called scream okay it's not that confusing to me , but maybe to you or you the listener , um , but also I gotta say someone had recently died on one before we went last time .

Speaker 2

Yeah , he was a very tall , large boy yes , he was not fit for the restraints .

Speaker 1

They should not have let him on . And he slipped out and that's terrifying . And at Cedar Point this summer , one of the cables snapped on the power tower but it's a hydraulic system , right ? So like it didn't like drop , you didn't plummet .

Speaker 2

What happened ?

Speaker 1

They just brought him back down and closed the ride .

Speaker 2

Well , I'm sure we told this on the podcast when it happened , but just to recap , we went on this last a couple years ago we were not doing this podcast when it happened were we doing the other one ?

Speaker 1

no I can't imagine we didn't talk about this somewhere oh , maybe we did like in the cut down one , the cut down podcast .

Speaker 2

Yeah maybe okay , well , we can just say it again . Just recap we are at knott's berry farm and scary farm was it a scary when we went , or was it regular ?

Speaker 1

was it a scary , was it ?

Speaker 2

a scary um , yeah , it was not scary , it was scary and we go on this and it's the one that go took us up slow and then dropped us quickly and you know , we get in and the guy's going around and he's checking our restraints and everything . And he comes over to me and I have it pulled down and it's , I've checked it , it's not going anywhere . And he comes up to me and he gives me an extra push in and it clicks and I was like , okay , like I feel very secure now alex is to my left .

Speaker 2

I don't know who's to my right , haley .

Speaker 1

Don't know .

Speaker 2

Unsure and everything seems fine . And then we start going upwards and the I feel a click .

Speaker 2

And it it does it let out one one click and Alex and I just stare at each other and we get to the top and in my mind I was like I'm about to die and all of my friends are about to witness this . And Alex and I just stared in each other's eyes as the drop happens and I was thinking like in your mind , were you just like she's ? Like I mean , there she goes . She's about to fly out and I'm just watching her .

Speaker 1

I don't I don't , I definitely was like you heard the click too , yeah I think my logic brain was like okay , well , it's not unclicking anymore and , worst case , the strap is still connected , the buckle okay so like , if anything , it would just go totally loose and go as long as the belt would go , but then that still would be some wiggle room for you to like , slip out of which is what happened to that guy ? Yeah so I think there was a little bit of me that was like obviously she's fine , and this is spooky .

Speaker 1

And then there was definitely a part of me that was like and how traumatic .

Speaker 2

If this is real , if all of my friends just have to see me splat awful awful . Do you think that if that did happen and I somehow survived , I would own the park now ?

Speaker 1

yes , or is there ?

Speaker 2

something in the ticket that I buy . That's like . You can't sue us for this .

Speaker 1

No , no , no , Because , like there is an acceptance of safety that comes along with going in . I think they would . It would be like the mayor giving a key to the city to someone you would be like I don't know .

Speaker 2

you'd like lead the Knott's Berry Parade every year , I would get a lot of money .

Speaker 1

I would sue them for a lot of money and they'd rename Scream to the Allison , the Allison .

Speaker 2

I wouldn't want that . I want the whole park .

Speaker 1

That's right , allison Land .

Speaker 2

Allison Land .

Speaker 1

Alice in Land Love Cute .

Speaker 2

But anyway , we're going to go there , we're going to Knott's Scary Farm .

Speaker 1

And to finish , what all of this was from the beginning was to just say that we were talking about it , because

The Terrifying Drop Tower Incident

Speaker 1

there was a time when I was like not scary farm , fright fest , like hit all these things , and really all I want to do this year is not scary farm and a pumpkin patch like a real nice one I want that because that first year I made you guys go to the hayride I loved it .

Speaker 2

It's my favorite time of year .

Speaker 1

I made you go to not scary I would like to go to the apple orchard too I want to go to the one that emily and I went to . Hey , m is that so cute . We just north or south far , that's all I know and we went on a day like I would plan it better because it was so busy . We actually spent more time trying to park than we actually spent doing things there , but it was so cute you could pick apples have apple cider I that's my favorite thing to do ?

Speaker 1

I want to do that so I want to do it okay well welcome back to the a-list podcast with allison and alex . She's allison , he's alex , he really just went for that yeah , I wasn't ready , but you kind of got it , you figured out .

Speaker 2

I did , stanley looking so tired , and I'm also tired .

Speaker 1

Me also tired too . I got up and went to the gym early . Wow , how was your . Memorial Day , weekend , labor Day , god .

Speaker 2

It was fine . I didn't do anything on Saturday . I needed to really like relax and regroup because I knew that Sunday would be a very long day .

Speaker 1

Why .

Speaker 2

The dodgeball tournament that you made me sign up for , that you quit Write that . Okay , yeah , and it was a long day . I think we started at 10 and then I think I was done at like three to 30 .

Speaker 1

What I kind of appreciate is like I didn't realize till I found out that Karina had to back out because of a shoot . I didn't realize that it was . They've condensed it to one day , Cause last year it was two days .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I did like that .

Speaker 1

The two days .

Speaker 2

No , that it was one day yeah .

Speaker 1

I was like , oh well , that's that , that's nice .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it was like a round Robin , Same thing . The what we did on the first day was from like 10 AM to . I think it's because there was way less teams .

Speaker 1

Were there way less teams , yeah , really yeah . So where did you guys place ? Where did you ?

Speaker 2

end up placing . At the end of the round Robin , I think that we were either second to last or third to last . Okay , because we it was pretty rough because we had to play down two players the first , um , most of the whole round robin , I think all but maybe one game was we were down two and we were getting crushed , okay . And then there was actually like a whole thing with , um , one of our captains and with the person who runs , oh , okay .

Speaker 2

Because it's just like it is annoying when people sign up to be in a rec league that they know that they're a pro better they're advanced yeah , and it is a thing where , like there are people coming from out of town to play in this tournament . It's not just an la thing , like it's a national thing . And if you are traveling all this way , like I'm sure you do want to play in both things and I can understand if you are meant to be in rec and you then play up in advance .

Speaker 2

So you get to play in both things and I can understand if you are meant to be in rec and you then play up in advance so you get to play twice , yeah , but if you are an advanced player , you in a whole team of advanced players , then to play down and rec just so you can play twice , yeah , is annoying , and there was specifically one team that everyone they , they cause a couple of our players , a couple of our people went to the day before which was the advanced day and um watched and they were like we literally saw all these people play yesterday .

Speaker 1

That's frustrating .

Speaker 2

And then they were playing us and they were crushing us and so like that was an annoying thing . So then they ended up allowing us to have a sub , because it was like you weren't allowed to have subs yeah , yeah it's my hair .

Speaker 2

it feels like my hair is coming . Okay , yeah , you're not allowed to have subs , okay . So we were like , because josh was like I could play if , if , and they were like , no , you can't , you have to be registered . And because we had lost so much , I think that they were just like like there was a guy who was refereeing that they let play with us . Okay , he actually was pretty good and helped us out a lot , so we played like one game with him and then it went to the single elimination tournament at like 1.30 . We started doing that , yeah , and we actually won two matches in that .

Speaker 1

Oh , wow .

Speaker 2

Two or one , yeah Two . And then we in our third we played Markel's team and it was actually not that crazy , like we kind of had a back and forth , but then they ended up beating us and then we were done . But I had I sent Alex a video , epic , I uh had a back and forth , but then they ended up beating us okay , and then we were done .

Speaker 2

But I had I sent alex a video epic I , uh , since josh was there , he was recording but he had he like , had forgotten to record in , zoomed out so you could see the whole court . So there's a few on the video . I got a couple people out . Before that I had an epic game , you guys , guys , yeah , and it came down to me and someone on one person , me against one person on their team , and we had a big showdown . Well , actually there was four people against three of us . I got out of those last four people , I got out three of the four which is crazy .

Speaker 1

He did catch on video .

Speaker 2

You getting the second to last yeah , I got him on the leg on the almost foot . That was whoa . Who am I ?

Speaker 1

and then the last person .

Speaker 2

We were like going back and forth and then we had a big um where we threw it at the same time and the balls hit each other in the air and then , as I'm going to grab my ball , he was faster on the the trigger and got me while I was trying to get my ball . But it was really . I was like wow . I looked at the video and I was like , oh my gosh , I'm so athletic uh , so that was . I felt good about myself , yeah good , but we did lose and was there .

Speaker 1

Like uh did david archuleta perform again , I didn didn't go . Was that a thing though ?

Speaker 2

Maybe I have no idea they did have an ending party like that . So , I'm sure there was someone , but I didn't hear .

Speaker 1

Probably for the best , because I got COVID from it last year . You guys , I didn't . Oh , I did .

Speaker 2

I know , but I was standing next to you . I didn't stay the whole time though .

Speaker 1

Well , you also didn't get assaulted .

Speaker 2

Who's oh right Right .

Speaker 1

Yes .

Speaker 2

Right . Yeah yeah , yeah , I evaded that yeah . How was your trip .

Speaker 1

My trip was great , Guys . I was in Palm Springs relaxing .

Speaker 2

Did you see any of my friends ?

Speaker 1

No , we didn't go out Like we went out to brunch one day and then breakfast on the way out . Other than that , though , the house and the pool were so nice and we were just making so how hot was it ? I mean the first Friday and Saturday not so bad . Sunday was unreal , it was like 115 .

Speaker 2

It's insane .

Speaker 1

But like it is crazy how 101 feels very different than 115 .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Like it's still hot , but you can tell the difference .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

But like I'm a water baby , so like I was night swimming , I was in the hot tub , I was all over the place , but it was

Labor Day Weekend Recap

Speaker 1

good . We watched a couple documentaries . Um made so much content for only fans . If you guys want the link , drop , drop your comment . Um , no , if you guys want the link , drop your comment . No , but it was actually . It was really relaxing and I was actually relaxed . I love that , and I am I always feel better coming back from a Palm Springs trip .

Speaker 2

You do like Palm Springs , could you live there ?

Speaker 1

Yeah , oh yeah .

Speaker 2

I just like I can't .

Speaker 1

It's too hot I don't know why I like it . I mean , I love the desert , though I always have it's too hot . I don't know why I like it .

Speaker 2

I mean I love the desert , though I always have . That's why I love Vegas . I mean I could live there in the winter , but that's not the point .

Speaker 1

No , that's not the point . I like the hot season , it's just so .

Speaker 2

Walking outside . It's just insane . Yeah , I don't know what it is .

Speaker 1

But also I will say I've never gone to a gay bar , never and so many we went out . We went out on saturday morning . We went to the antique shops to do some antiquing and wow , is it gay but yeah , I'd never been to that side of the dispensary like lounge dispensaries no , no , no , but I'd never seen that side of palm springs .

Speaker 1

The antique shops are like kind of like down some back roads and like are like warehousey but it was so cute we saw so many cute things and then , um , where we ended up going to brunch on sunday , I had like I've never seen that street before , which is crazy because I've gone to palm springs so often near chill bar oh , just off on the side like I didn't know . There was like a whole street of like gay bars . Yeah , the one that's like hands and like all these places . I'd never two cans ?

Speaker 2

yeah , I've seen . The reason I've been to most of them is because my friends have performed there . Yeah , two cans is a fun place . Did you go ?

Speaker 1

no , we didn't go to any you would have liked no , we just went restaurants . But so like the part of town I've been to is like where , when we went to 4th of July's ago , like where the Starbucks and the H&M , like that mall area is , and like the two block radius , that's like as much as I've ever done in the downtown . So this was the first time I was like really in the downtown .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

And even though we didn't go into any of those , it was still like oh wow , there's so much more for me to explore here , and I've been to Palm Springs probably 50 times since I have moved here . Yeah , and that was like the first , because I just rarely ever leave a house .

Speaker 2

Yeah , when you Airbnb a nice house , yeah , you want to take advantage of the pool .

Speaker 1

Sure .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

And also like if you're in an Airbnb , like it is more likely that you're have like go to the store , have food , eat there . Maybe we did say like maybe we'll go in a month or so and do like a weekend in one of the boutique hotels and then then explore like that , because like yeah , you should stay in the one , that's like by .

Speaker 2

Oh well , that'd be fun , yeah , oh , it's not really a boutique , I guess the one that's behind h&m , but it's a cute one .

Speaker 1

It's kind of no , it is kind of boutiquey and it's not that restaurant like right in the yeah , what is that hotel called ?

Speaker 2

rowan , the rowan that's not what I was thinking , oh the one right behind h&m is called rowan the rowan is it owned by someone else ? I ?

Speaker 1

don't know . There's also the casino , one that's like is that the way you're thinking of ?

Speaker 2

no , this one is the one you're thinking of . No , this one the one I'm thinking of . I know they have . It's a chain of hotels , but I do think that they are boutique style .

Speaker 1

Oh , okay .

Speaker 2

Kempton . Oh , it's a Kempton . Yeah , Kempton Rowan .

Speaker 1

The Rowan yeah .

Speaker 2

Yeah , but Kempton is a .

Speaker 1

Like a Marriott . A brand , yeah , yeah it's such a cute hotel that would be a cute way to stay and it's right there .

Speaker 2

You can walk down there they have a good rooftop .

Speaker 1

I think that's what I was going to say . They've got a really nice restaurant .

Speaker 2

That restaurant is nice .

Speaker 1

And then the rooftop is cute Rooftop yes , and it's right there within walking distance has done a lot of exploring in Palm Springs and he was like , oh my God , there's so much you need to see , yeah , I was like well . I think it would be hard for me . It is hard for me when you're putting out for a house to like spend any time in the city .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Only because it's like we're paying for this house . That's supposed to be like a resort style stay .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I think too , when you have , when it's like a group of people in a house , it's just easier to stay there than like rounding up .

Speaker 1

Sure , everyone to go to yeah , so next time , whatever , I'll do some more exploring in the downtown area . But he he took me to h&m because I said that was my one of my favorite h&m it is a really good h&m .

Speaker 2

It is they lot of stuff .

Speaker 1

It is , and he took me there and it was . I didn't buy anything but it was cute . Okay , it was cute to walk around .

Speaker 2

What I was going to say . Oh , this is like side note . But , speaking of houses , that house for rent is still available . We are mean .

Speaker 1

Listen , let's talk again in January .

Speaker 2

It's definitely not going to be available in all the way in january . Who knows , if it is , it has something wrong with it maybe the price .

Speaker 1

I just want you to live in my neighborhood and he is open to sherman oaks . He was like sherman oaks , he could see he has a friend that's trying to get us to consider culver city , which , like , would be fun . May emily's there . Emma is there . You're maybe moving in that area , but I guess it's not that bad because , emma , I asked her about her commute to work and she said that on bad traffic days it's 35 minutes . On not bad traffic days it's like 2025 .

Speaker 2

Yes , that's not that bad . This is so LA talk , but you take the 10 , right , correct yeah .

Speaker 1

Um , so I don't know . We'll see . Cause now Emily is trying to . Emily's trying to get back to the Valley , but she's like the only way I'll get Brian out to the Valley is if they rent a house that has a pool , which like fair . Brian grew up . He's a . He's a Manhattan beach boy .

Speaker 2

So like , yeah , he's a beach kid and I want to get out of the heat .

Speaker 1

I want to be anywhere , but here You're like . Get me away from all this hot .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Culver City would be closer to the airport .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Closer to a beach .

Speaker 2

You guys should check out .

Speaker 1

Oh right .

Speaker 2

It's so cute .

Speaker 1

My ex does live in Culver City , though Like really close to Emily .

Speaker 2

That's why you should check out where I just said .

Speaker 1

You're right . It's not that we went to him , but I want to take you there .

Speaker 2

It's so cute , it's the best , it's so cute .

Speaker 1

I mean , I've been there but I don't . Maybe I don't know the specific area you're talking about downtown Culver area . It's cute as hell .

Speaker 2

There's a home state . There's a home state everywhere . Now I know there is there really is Great for that yeah .

Speaker 1

Have you been to the Bakery that's like by the higher path ?

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Is it cute ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , we just took um . A few months ago we took Josh's um aunt and uncle there .

Speaker 1

And what's the vibes ? They're all very different .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it's um . The inside is very loud . Don't recommend sitting inside .

Speaker 1

Peeking at it . It gives me the kind of the vibes of the one on third street , like by the grove . Yeah , it is similar .

Speaker 2

Yeah , there's a bunch of outdoor seating and like food was the same , like it's . Like it's what you expect from all of them yeah but the inside seating , it's so loud oh , got it , it's like echo chamber , like you cannot hear the person across from you oh , good to know so when we took them there , I was like we have to sit outside , like it's , because the point was like to converse and like catch up or whatever , yeah , so I immediately it was like don't sit us inside please , under no circumstance . But yeah , it's good .

Speaker 1

Okay , great .

Speaker 2

Recommend .

Speaker 1

Um , so I was going to talk to you about this off the pod , but we can do it on .

Speaker 2

I'm scared .

Speaker 1

No , we'll talk about it off the pod . It's absolutely boring information to share . No , no , it's nothing bad , it's just like we don't need to talk about this , but on that I was going to say that I don't mind the Glendale one , but after you go to the third street location of Bakri , yeah , the Glendale , oh , glendale , glendale , glendale . Glendale's . In the Americana it's like on the backside of the mall oh . Have you not been to that one ?

Speaker 2

Yes , I have that one's the worst . Yeah , it's the first I was thinking of the Silver Lake one . The Silver Lake one is very cute .

Speaker 1

I haven't been to that one .

Speaker 2

It's very . It's bigger and very . I feel like I'm in a tree house when I tour , it just sucks to go to silver layer true true , true , um , but anyway yeah , well , that should be the next one that we go to I just went .

Speaker 1

I went to the other path the other day and I saw it and I was like what ?

Speaker 2

yeah , it is weird because it's like there's a , there's like a little boutique store and then in the middle it's . It doesn't make sense the layout , but when you walk in it does make sense . Yes , yes , yes , yes . And our server was actually like recognized josh and he was like they were broey and I don't know . He was like come back anytime .

Speaker 2

We haven't been recognized josh he had seen him somewhere , like literally , they both were like you look familiar , and he was like you look familiar . And then they like broed out , and I don't know how ever connect the dot yeah , I just don't remember what the dot was like they met in life or like he saw josh on tv .

Speaker 2

Okay , they met in life . Oh , speaking of good restaurants , I just went to a good restaurant , um , that I've been wanting to go to it . I had seen it on a , a youtube ad for like restaurants

Restaurant Recommendations and Living Situations

Speaker 2

in la you went because I watched your story .

Speaker 1

I was like , babe , we have to go here . No , it's incredible . It looked really cute I , so they there .

Speaker 2

I kept getting these ads on youtube for like these restaurants in la you were influenced . I was influenced . Wow , um , and this one it was . It's isa ray has I don't know if she is the owner or part owner or what . She's involved in this restaurant . It's called somerville . What's happening ? Is there a bug ?

Speaker 1

yeah , what kind of bug it kind of looks like a tit . No , it's not what what ?

Speaker 2

why are you petting it gross ? Oh , it's just a little bug . Yeah , I'm chills , okay , okay , isa ray yeah , I think she is like an owner , a part owner or something okay , and it's called somerville . It's in like um , they , they say south central la , it's like north inglewood there's like a name for this neighborhood .

Speaker 2

I just don't remember what it's called , but it's like when you look at on the map , you inglewood , and then it's like the very north part of it , whatever that means . But um , it is so cute , it has live music . There's like jazz musicians playing , it's very like cultural and just like just the vibe it looks really gorgeous , so , and the food looks pretty bomb I got the fried chicken sliders with caviar with caviar and that's like the one thing they talked about . On this , I was fully influenced on this ad that .

Speaker 2

I saw um fried chicken caviar sliders . He got this like um that . I saw um fried chicken caviar sliders . He got this like um lasagna , like I think it was like colored green lasagna he said it was like the one of the best things he's ever eaten in his life . The brussels sprouts were delish , drinks were delish . The only thing is like the service was like a little slow but .

Speaker 2

And it wasn't even that full like of a restaurant which , when I looked at the reviews , that is something that was on there . It was like our server , like we got seated , and then I don't know , I feel like five minutes went by and then a server walked by and was like , oh , I'll be right back to get your guys's order , and then I feel like a very long time went by I don't know how long , but it was like to the point where we're like , did they forget about us ? And I had , I like , tapped someone as they walked by and I was like , hey , is there any way like we can order , or I'm not sure who our like waiter is ? And they were like , oh , yeah , we'll get someone , and then , like it took a few minutes for that person to come over and then , once , once they came over , then we had like consistent service , but it was like a little bit of a weird start .

Speaker 2

I don't , I don't know , I don't know when they opened , but very like such a vibe , it felt like I don know . It felt like old and everyone was kind of dressed up .

Speaker 1

Oh , that's cool .

Speaker 2

It was like it was really cute . I love it Highly recommend .

Speaker 1

Well , I have another recommendation too .

Speaker 2

Okay .

Speaker 1

On Thursday we took um one of Chad's friends , one of my newer friends . Her name is Shelly . We took her to the Cara hotel where's that ? It's in las feliz . I didn't even know like it existed like with the c or k c with a c and there's a restaurant and the restaurant is around the pool and it looks like you're in like a moroccan oh nice like palace .

Speaker 1

It's so pretty and the food was so good and it was an insane martini I am , you and your martinis guys , but anyway , noinis guys , but anyway , no , it was delicious , we must go . We had oysters .

Speaker 2

I kind of want to see if I can like martinis , but I'm scared to order one because I don't want to hate it and then have ordered a drink that I hate , but you like gin . I do , but I don't really know . Is a gin martini , just gin ?

Speaker 1

No , it's gin vermouth , so I don't like gin . You know this right .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

I tried a gin martini and was like this is good .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I definitely don't want vodka , but I don't know Like is a Cosmo , a martini ?

Speaker 1

Yes . But like that's like boring right , like everyone like the like cool thing is to have with the olives and the whatever . Well , so like sometimes chad will get a martini with a twist and have it be like citrusy with lemon yeah , that's more gin vibes , right yeah I prefer a super dirty , filthy , filthy , filthy , dirty martini with extra olives is that what you say ?

Speaker 2

because I'm gonna feel dumb saying that I do because I love olive juice . So it's like extra , extra olive juice I would say it like that . I wouldn't be like filthy .

Speaker 1

I like a filthy , dirty ass . Vodka martini .

Speaker 2

I feel like I should do like a tasting .

Speaker 1

So what you should do is just like try someone's gin martini and see if you like it .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

But if we're going to do this , we should go to a place where I know they're good . Okay , that way it's like your best it's best . The odds are it's the best odds yeah because you ? What is it that you scares you about a martini just too strong ?

Speaker 2

yeah so that's what I always thought , but like something about it , the olive juice and sorry you're good , the coke , zeros and um cuts through yeah , I just feel like , because I've gotten before like a spirit forward drink I love the way and I , that's what it was called on the menu , and then I I understood what spirit forward meant after that , and it meant whoa on the whatever liquor it was yeah and that was disgusting to me .

Speaker 2

So I'm like I'm afraid to order a martini because I like olive juice , I like pickle juice , like someone on a podcast I was listening to said somewhere in la has a really good pickle juice martini I'm gonna need to try that immediately .

Speaker 1

Yeah , where the fuck is that I ?

Speaker 2

don't know , I can't even remember which one it was , but awesome .

Speaker 1

Why isn't that a regular thing ?

Speaker 2

I don't know , because I like pickle backs and a lot of people are like we don't have pickle juice or they maybe they don't want to use it for that all right .

Speaker 1

Well , I love that . Let's make that a goal before the end of the year .

Speaker 2

To get you to see if I was gonna say like if I have bartender friends , like that could be like a video that I just say make me martini , make me like small ones , so I can do a taste test .

Speaker 1

What bar is he bartending ?

Speaker 2

I don't want to dox him , but I'll tell you off camera .

Speaker 1

Well , let's find out his schedule .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

Or just like go to their apartment , right ?

Speaker 2

yes , he could also make it , yeah but yeah , I don't know , I want to , I like want to join in on the martini trend , but I'm also like feel like a fraud and then for me , what's ?

Speaker 1

I think the reason I like them too so much is it wasn't an acquired taste . Like the second , I had my first martini . I was like I get it , I understand why people drink alcohol and then this is why , but it's not something I ever will attempt to make for myself , and we had martinis when we went to cafe . Oh , that like a couple of weeks ago .

Speaker 2

Yeah , bad .

Speaker 1

Oh , I didn't . They did not know what they were doing . It does matter ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , I don't assume that's a martini heavy it's not place right .

Speaker 1

It was a yellowish green color , should have known what was in it then ? I think that when I said extra dirty , they literally were just like oh no yeah but an empress oh , love empress a dirty empress martini , I think you'd .

Speaker 2

I don't think that that's the right flavors together , because Empress , like Gin in general , is so floral and I think Empress is pretty floral .

Speaker 1

Empress isn't what I meant .

Speaker 2

Okay .

Speaker 1

What's a common , what's a well-known gin ?

Speaker 2

Well , so .

Speaker 1

I think Not , tangeray . Tangeray is one one not that's not what I'm thinking of . What's in the green bottle ? It's a tangare . It's not tangare . I hate myself um , yeah no hendrix , hendrix , okay , thank you a hendrix , but there are . There's so many different versions of hendrix .

Speaker 2

There are ones that are so floral , so , like the , the OG , hendrix may be the one .

Speaker 1

I think if you're ordering it , they know Cause . When I'm with martini drinkers like Shelly , for instance , she Chad and I had vodka martinis she ordered a Hendrix , a dirty Hendrix martini .

Speaker 2

Yeah . That's what you would order yeah , there is a really um expensive hendrix one that is very floral and delish , okay , but I , yeah , I wouldn't do empress and what's the problem with you and vodka ?

Speaker 1

you're making a face which is disgusting . I like like because you just like had too many barf sessions with it .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I just think the older I've gotten , the more it's like very hairspray to me and wow , interesting .

Speaker 1

I get what you mean by that actually yeah , I think especially as my taste buds have changed .

Speaker 2

I can drink a cocktail with vodka in it that has other things , but if I can smell it or taste it , you're not doing a shot of vodka Absolutely not . Well that's an insane ask . It's only tequila , I guess . Sometimes everyone's obsessed with fireball and my friend in the friend group , so I can kind of do fireball , even though .

Speaker 1

I don't well that's whiskey .

Speaker 2

I don't want to do shots anymore . Actually , I know I've said this before and I'm just I say I'm just I say I'm going to say no , and I fell into it .

Speaker 1

Sometimes I am like feeling a little feisty . I don't know .

Speaker 2

I like shots , I just like getting it in and over with no . Have I told you about how I think shots have ruined my life and how I can't gargle anymore ?

Speaker 1

No .

Speaker 2

Okay , I used to be able to gargle when I was younger , because you know , when you're sitting , my nose is so itchy to be able to gargle when I was younger , because you know when you're , my nose is so itchy . When you say gargle , you mean like , yeah , like gargling . So when I , when I was little , every time I was sick I had a sore throat my mom would be like gargle salt water and it is genius .

Speaker 2

It helps so much and helps your throat feel better . So instantly , genius , and I could do it then and even I feel like into my adult years , like I , anytime I was sick , anytime my throat hurt I would do that it would be fine . Then all I started having friends that wanted to take shots , because even in college I don't feel like my friends were like shot takers .

Speaker 1

We were like just drinkers girl you went to ball state .

Speaker 2

That cannot be true yeah , but we weren't really shots . It was like , um , we would play beer pong and it would be like beer shots or whatever , going to the bars in downtown and we were just drinking a lot .

Speaker 1

Dollar shots without any drink .

Speaker 2

I don't remember taking a lot of shots . We were just drinking a lot of drinks .

Speaker 1

I'm going to talk to Heather , go ahead .

Speaker 2

Heather and I weren't drinking together .

Speaker 1

But she went to Ball State , which is why I want to know .

Speaker 2

Yes , but we had different friend groups .

Speaker 1

Oh , so it's friend group dependent .

Speaker 2

It was . Yeah , I think my friend group was not like what were you ?

Speaker 1

guys drinking Four Locos .

Speaker 2

Oh my God , yeah , yeah , same At the beginning . Yeah , we would tailgate , we would drink like wine coolers .

Speaker 1

Sourpuss .

Speaker 2

What's that ?

Speaker 1

I don't know , I just learned about it , so I thought people who went to school knew what it was .

Speaker 2

I don't think so . Okay , or we would do like a vodka and like some sort of like .

Speaker 1

Lemonade or something . Yeah , okay .

Speaker 2

Like the most terrible things to drink ever , but it wasn't really a lot of shots .

Speaker 2

Okay , so sorry to derail you , so you would you could gargle as a teenager I could gargle or like mouthwash or whatever and then , as like my current adult friend group really likes taking shots and I really hate it . And if there's a something that happens to me , I can't just like knock it back and like do it in one swallow . It's like it goes in my mouth and I have to like tell my brain has to say swallow , and then I it's like it's like my tongue like tries to stop it because it doesn't want , like it doesn't want to be there . Yeah , yeah , yeah .

Speaker 1

I actually do know what you mean .

Speaker 2

The context , of this like without , without the context . It's crazy . Yeah , yeah , but my , my body wants to reject the shock .

Speaker 1

It doesn't want to welcome it in .

Speaker 2

No . So then my brain has to say let it go , it's okay no . So then my brain has to say let it go , it's okay , swallow , oh , no . So then I think that something has happened in my brain where when I now try to gargle either mouthwash or salt water when I'm sick , I associate it with my brain thinks I'm trying to take a shot , but I'm not and I physically can't do it anymore , because you will swallow the mouthwash . Or I just like spit it up Can you still do this . Yes .

Speaker 2

I can do like swishing in my mouth , which is what I do , and I try , and it's just like really like quick and I just like I just have to do it extra long to you know , make sure that my mouth gets good , but I've ruined the shots , have ruined that for me , and it's really frustrating because now , when I'm have a sore

The Martini Debate

Speaker 2

throat , I can't even gargle salt water .

Speaker 1

You can just do this .

Speaker 2

And I've tried to retrain myself , but it's just like I'm spitting up everywhere . I don't know what to do like can someone help me ?

Speaker 1

sorry , sorry to have to . I'm gonna have to when we're off .

Speaker 2

I'll try to do water and show you , but it's really bad . I cannot wait . It's so bad this is hilarious anyway , if anyone's a doctor out there and you know , if you can help me figure out how to train myself to gargle again , that'd be great .

Speaker 1

So funny , oh my God . Anyway , what else is going on ?

Speaker 2

Cardi B was cleared .

Speaker 1

Cardi B was cleared , and those were the best .

Speaker 2

You started seeing the videos after I said .

Speaker 1

Yeah , Boyf and I were watching some of them over the weekend .

Speaker 2

Wild so good she created a million memes for the rest of life .

Speaker 1

We're covered .

Speaker 2

Literally For every emotion there's a Cardi meme .

Speaker 1

She's like it's a wig . So good .

Speaker 2

The one where they're like . I was 130 pounds . They're like . So you're saying she's big or whatever , and she's like she can protect the building . She's security guard big . She's security guard big .

Speaker 1

She's like I was 130 pounds . She's security guard big , he says something else and she goes . She looked like she could protect the building .

Speaker 2

Which is very nice of her to not say mean words .

Speaker 1

I mean , I can't like , that's hilarious .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

How big was the perpetrator ? She looked like he could protect a building .

Speaker 2

That's what they're hired to do .

Speaker 1

Right .

Speaker 2

Yeah , she was cleared of all assault allegations and like , obviously , yeah , this person was just trying to get money out of her , like they knew .

Speaker 1

Of course .

Speaker 2

That what they were hoping , which I love , is that . Or I love that she went to court because they were hoping she would just settle out of court , she didn't want to worry about it , or she didn't want to risk not winning and having to pay more , Like which is obviously what most celebrities do in this situation , but she was like no , I know that I didn't do anything wrong and I I got the time .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

I'll go to court .

Speaker 1

Yep .

Speaker 2

So she was cleared , and now what I want to talk about with you is Burning man . Do you know anyone that's ever been to Burning man ? I do . I need to know more , because everything . I've ever learned about Burning man is against my will and I don't understand . I don't know what's going on over there , like . I know what coach , I know what's happening at coachella . I know what's happening at like lollapalooza these are music festivals , but like is burning man a music festival ? Is it just camping ? Like what what's happening over there ?

Speaker 1

because I heard about a sex tent that got blown away by the winds and there it wasn't there anymore what's , what is burning man and what's going on there well , first of all , I think it is a music festival okay , what kind of music ? I don't know . I feel like probably house . I know some burners , I know a few of them . Oh , there's a name I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone . Here's my knowledge . I just like truly do not understand what's going on I know some burners suzanna .

Speaker 1

I don't know that she ever attended burning man , but I've met people through suzanna who are burners . Okay , I went on a couple dates with a burner and real burners have burner names , like different names .

Speaker 2

So when you're there you can have a different identity , or like people in your community know you as that .

Speaker 1

It's very spiritual .

Speaker 2

Is it like drugs ?

Speaker 1

I think , oh yeah , there's obviously that element to it , a lot of like meditation and stuff .

Speaker 2

But it doesn't seem peaceful to me . It's like what I don't understand .

Speaker 1

The elements seem very intense .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it's like I would be down for a spiritual like . I love a meditation , I love a sound bath . Like if we're going out somewhere to like have a , you know a sound bath and whatever , like I would . That's something that sounds relaxing and nice .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 1

But this doesn't sound relaxing to me it does seem very intense and really I don't know much more than that . You camp , there is a sex tent , you don't have to participate and everyone I've met who goes is a really kind person . Like I've never had a bad interaction Like the guy went on a couple of dates with . It was just a little much Like he he really wanted a like a burner boyfriend to like be a part of that . It's just not . It just was . Imagine me coming to you one day , alison , and being like you will now refer to me as green tree .

Speaker 2

No .

Speaker 1

Well , I'm telling you have to you know what I mean .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

It's just , it's just not for me , but um , but I but again , like you said , I appreciate and recognize , understand and are cool with a lot of the practices of Burning man , but ultimately is it just a drug-fueled sex party .

Speaker 2

Yeah , is it just like a place ? Because this is what it says . The point of Burning man is multifaceted . It's an annual event in a global cultural movement centered on community art-expression and self-reliance , built around a set of core principles that guide behavior and interaction . Sounds like a cult .

Speaker 1

It is not a music festival .

Speaker 2

Attendees create a temporary city , black rock city , where they collaborate to build art and experiences , reject commercialism by gifting and bartering rather than using money , and practice radical self-expression and participation . The event culminates with a ceremonial burning of the man and the temple , symbolizing the ephemeral nature of the community and the process of leaving no trace .

Speaker 2

So it's like it burns and then they leave , and it was like and diplo will perform yeah , um wow trying to see the event is an experiment in community , providing a space for people to disconnect from mainstream society and interact in new ways , free from typical judgments or hierarchies . What I'm thinking is probably it's different now than it was in , like the 90s , because now it's like people are making tiktoks right and I assume that's probably not what the point of all that was yeah , because if it's too , commercialized yeah , not yeah if it's to not , oh , be commercialized .

Speaker 2

If it's to like , not given to the man . It's like I assume that people don't want to be fueling the big ceos of the world , that's right I don't know , but I just I'm . I would to like is there enough food to go around ? Can I use the restroom ? Do I have to barter ?

Speaker 1

For toilet paper .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I just I don't think what's the quote ? I don't think at this stage I'm meant for an uncomfortable life Period and it seems uncomfortable , but maybe that is just because I'm not crafty enough , because some of the TikToks I saw , like these people , had a really beautiful RV that they had restructured and made to be really pretty and comfy on the inside . I don't know how to do that .

Speaker 1

Right .

Speaker 2

Right , right , what did you just look up ?

Speaker 1

I wanted to see who owns it , cause you know like and to me it feels like fire fest , but like I know it's not right Because , like Coachella is owned by the big bad man and people get angry and then they go yeah , okay , well , but Beyonce's performing , so I but Beyonce's performing , so I guess .

Speaker 2

I'll go .

Speaker 1

I'll go . Yeah , burning man is not owned by a single person or an entity , rather by the Burning man Project , which is a nonprofit organization . The board of directors oversees the event to ensure that organization operates for the public good rather than for profit . Kind of love , that , actually .

Speaker 2

So are there tickets ? So something interesting I saw was that the line to get in was so crazy because they their head it rained and apparently the type of clay that the um desert is there . When it rains you , it gets wet , like it basically , like you get stuck in it .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it's like clay it turns to clay .

Speaker 2

Yeah , so it rained and all these people had to wait for like a whole day to get in , so they were just parked in their cars in this line , and that doesn't seem fun to me .

Speaker 1

I agree . And now I'm fascinated and I want to see if there's a documentary .

Speaker 2

I want to yeah , I would like a documentary because I don't understand .

Speaker 1

June 22nd 1986 was the start of Burning man .

Speaker 2

Okay , here's some prices .

Speaker 1

Oh yeah , I'm curious .

Speaker 2

Ticket price the cheapest . Wait hold on Black Rock City 2025 ticket prices . Ticket price tiers enable gifting at these price points . Purchases of higher price tickets help more people experience the magic of Burning man Fund honoraria art grants and underwire Black Rock City operational costs . Yeah , because they have to have a license or something to be able to host something there , I'm assuming .

Speaker 2

So the cheapest is $550 . The most expensive is $3,000 . So like , the cheapest is $5.50 . The most expensive is $3,000 . But it says like the $3,000 ticket description says you're illuminating the playa with generosity , making really special generational magic happen . Your contribution lights the way for inclusive celebration today and into the future . So is it like you just choose which one you want to buy ? I must be it . But does that get you like early entry ? Or is it just like , if you're nice enough to do that , I ?

Speaker 1

don't know . Thank you .

Speaker 2

I don't understand

Decoding Burning Man

Speaker 2

. I'm sure that does anyone like . Is this interesting to anyone else with us ?

Speaker 1

I'm now really interested . I'm reading the opening on uh burning man on the wikipedia and now I want to know if there's a documentary .

Speaker 2

But anyway , if if there is , I would like to watch it and understand more films knowing full Well I know that it's not for me and I'll never be there , and that's fine .

Speaker 1

Okay , okay , okay . There is a documentary called dust and illusions , a 2009 documentary about 30 years of Bernie man history from the perspective of 20 interviewees .

Speaker 2

Okay , we should watch it . We should . I will say that , since it's over , there was a . Someone did pass away .

Speaker 1

Yes , A girl right . So I want , I don't want to like um okay , I'm going to just say this while you're looking . There are three documentaries , you guys . One is called dust and illusions . It's from 2009 . There's one called Taking my Parents to Burning man , a 2014 film documenting the adventures and misadventures as Brian Bosen takes his parents to their first burn and then Spark a Burning man story a 2013 documentary about Burning man , which includes behind the scenes footage and interviews with the founders , all of which I'd love to watch .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I want , I'm , I want to know . But this past weekend , when burning man was happening , there's this . This article is from CBS news A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead lying in a pool of blood at the burning man festival Saturday . A festival attendee alerted authorities to the man around 9 15 pm . About the same time the giant man effigy in the middle of the venue was starting to burn . The event held on the second to last night of the gathering which gives the annual arts and musical festival its name . When pershing county sheriff's office office deputies found the man , he was obviously deceased .

Speaker 2

The sheriff's department said that's this year yeah damn they didn't provide any other information . Although this act appears to be a singular crime , um , all participants should be aware of their surroundings , so I guess there's not much more information . They just this person was found as the like burning started .

Speaker 1

Yeah , damn .

Speaker 2

Someone died in 2023 , but it was because of the severe flooding . Why so ? I understand it's there , but , like , if it's like a , it seems like a issue like this whole like playa situation seems like it's a headache . Maybe we can move it to a different part of the desert . 70,000 people were stranded for several days . I actually remember hearing about this . This is 2023 .

Speaker 1

Yes , and I was at the Reno airport , which is the closest airport to where this festival is , and people were freaking like they were all like returning their rental vehicles and everyone was covered in mud , All the vehicles even the humans , just like in this airport filled with dusty , dirty humans .

Speaker 2

I don't want to be dirty for days , days . I don't .

Speaker 1

Days and days .

Speaker 2

Even if I went to Coachella , I would be upset and I could pay $10 to have a private shower .

Speaker 1

Exactly .

Speaker 2

I'm not meant to be for an uncomfortable life , that's right .

Speaker 1

No , you're not .

Speaker 2

No , I want to sleep in a bed .

Speaker 1

Yeah , me too , and that's not too much to ask . Thank you very much .

Speaker 2

No , because I have free will and I can decide that I don't need to go to these festivals . That's right , especially with house music .

Speaker 1

I that no hate ?

Speaker 2

no , hate at all well , that's all the headlines that I had so I guess that means it's time for a list , a list of the week . Oh , that was cute . That was cute , all right what do you have ? I've been watching Hunting Wives .

Speaker 1

This excites me because I finished it , of course .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I've watched it . Josh has watched a little bit with me , but I've watched more than him , and what I have to say is the first , like two episodes . I was like there's no plot to this . It's just how many times can we get these people to kiss ?

Speaker 1

and to show boobies .

Speaker 2

Yeah . And and this hour episode like how many times can we fit in sex in some way ? And then I've gotten to the murder investigation .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it's good .

Speaker 2

And I have a theory .

Speaker 1

Do you want to share it ?

Speaker 2

Are you going to give it away ?

Speaker 1

No , no , no , no , no no .

Speaker 2

Okay , right now , with the information I have , I'm working with , I think that it is the red haired girl who committed the crime . Okay , because here's where I'm trying not to spoil , but here's our suspects and who it could be .

Speaker 1

Where you're at ? Do you know who the victim is ? Yet ?

Speaker 2

I do .

Speaker 1

Okay .

Speaker 2

The victim is a . Oh , I guess you don't find out until the third episode . Correct . Okay , I know who the victim is . The possible suspects are the mom of the boyfriend .

Speaker 1

Okay , okay .

Speaker 2

The boyfriend . I guess . I don't believe it's him , but possible suspect . Yeah , the red-haired girl .

Speaker 1

Mm-hmm .

Speaker 2

I guess Brittany Snow . We don't know for sure , because when she woke up she woke up in a weird place . Yes , I'm like why are you there ? Yep , hmm , or Malin Ackerman .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

Those are the five possible suspects . I or I don't . I haven't gotten to who this man is with the eye patch yet . Sure , don't know him . I guess he could be . He could be a suspect . Am I missing anything ?

Speaker 1

those seem the actual answer , yeah none of those people .

Speaker 2

Are you lying ?

Speaker 1

am I interesting .

Speaker 2

I just watched the funeral episode oh god there's so much more to go . Can I just say one thing ? I just watched the funeral episode .

Speaker 1

Oh God , there's so much more to go . Can I just say one thing so much more death .

Speaker 2

Oh , interesting .

Speaker 1

Like the first .

Speaker 2

Well , I think I might've started the next episode after that like a few minutes , but yeah , the last full episode I watched was the funeral .

Speaker 1

It's actually crazy , you'll see interesting . Yeah , a lot of people won't be returning for season two .

Speaker 2

Let's just say okay , I am annoyed by a lot of people yeah so britney snow , by the way she's annoying me . I'm not gonna lie , I'm not gonna sugarcoat this .

Speaker 1

Her character is annoying to me , okay like you want her to just like stop , just stop yeah , why are you doing so many stupid things ? Right , right . Why would no ?

Speaker 2

you're right why did it take literally one time of being with these people after you had a fatal accident and you didn't drink for three years or whatever ? And then you , just you , hang out with them one time and you're like I'll drink a mimosa not , and not just are you ?

Speaker 1

are you to the part yet where she drives drunk with me like it's just the two of them in the pickup truck ?

Speaker 2

she's like do it , has has nothing maybe I can't remember maybe she like drives and does donuts and she's like oh yes , oh yes yes , and behind the wheel literally one time of looking at this person that like , I guess you find you like you , you her attractive , obviously , but it's like you just you go , you see her one time and you hang out with this friend group one time and you're like , okay , I'm now not sober . That isn't normal behavior . Also and she's just making dumb decisions yeah .

Speaker 1

There's some wild penis shots coming up .

Speaker 2

The brother I saw , that saw that I saw that .

Speaker 1

That was so shocking it was just in such a crazy manner it was just yeah , yeah , maybe

Well , yeah .

Speaker 1

That's a good A-list of the week and I highly recommend it .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I'm enjoying it , but I'm also like frustrated by it .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it does have a pretty satisfying ending . I will say Like it leads it obviously for a second season , but you get some satisfaction .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I wonder , like I'm not going to read it , but I'm wondering what the book was like .

Speaker 1

Oh yeah , I forgot , it was a book .

Speaker 2

Yeah , they tell us every episode .

Speaker 1

They sure do . And did you know the , the guy that played the priest there , the , the youth pastor ? Oh , hate him Well he's dead in real life , so you want to take that back .

Speaker 2

you really jumped to your feelings about his character yeah , I am faster character the character is not he's problematic what I'm yeah what .

Speaker 1

He died of pancreatic cancer like six months after the show . And then in an episode they say it at the end in memory of and I was like who ? And I looked it up and I was like he's younger than us .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I'm sure he was a great guy , character's bad .

Speaker 1

The timing of that was hilarious . Well , he's dead in real life , so I thought , you were going to spoil it in the show . No , no . Why do you feel bad for that ? Yeah , but crazy anyway , good recommendation yeah , my a-list of the week . I lost it . Speaker 2

I feel like it was like 20 minutes of intense downpour yeah , maybe 40 , I don't know , it could have been less and I I don't have the concept of time , yeah . But I was like , well , yeah , what ? What did the la people say ? Like , oh , we really needed this , because that's like a joke , that a meme that I see go around every time it rains a lot . And he was like , well , that came from . He was like you weren't here , but like we had like 10 years of no drought yeah .
