What?
SPEAKER_04:It is called a bunch of bananas.
SPEAKER_01:No, like if you buy a bunch of bananas, it's a bunch of bananas, but it's not like a real wait, are we recording? Yes.
SPEAKER_04:You need to Google this. What is what is a what are bananas in a group called? Say it just like that.
SPEAKER_01:A bundle. Okay, I'm gonna vote for it's bunch.
SPEAKER_00:A bunch.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god, is it really?
SPEAKER_00:But more technically, the whole cluster on the plant is a bunch. A small group of attached bananas and is a hand. And a single banana is a finger. So you buy a hand at the store, which comes from a large bunch, and each piece is a finger.
SPEAKER_01:So Alex eats a whole hand of banana.
SPEAKER_04:Do you guys know the turpina banana song?
SPEAKER_00:No. TikTok banana. Welcome back to the A-list podcast with Allison and Alex. I'm Alison. He's Alex.
SPEAKER_04:And that's Angela. Angela Palemo.
SPEAKER_01:Steve, I messed that up. Yes.
SPEAKER_04:Well, we finally got it down. It used to be really messy, but it took us like 60 episodes and we got there. Angela.
SPEAKER_00:Angela has returned. Yes, I have.
SPEAKER_04:She'll say for the second time, but it's really the third, and I'm a little offended that she doesn't even remember being on the pod twice.
SPEAKER_01:I have a very vivid um memory of only one podcast. It's so weird.
SPEAKER_04:Was it with just me?
SPEAKER_01:No, it was with both of you. So you don't remember. Oh, that's why I always cook. That's correct. Well now I do. Because you just reminded me.
SPEAKER_04:Bringing the Bobby cut down.
SPEAKER_01:That's right.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, I remember now.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. We um so it's been three times.
SPEAKER_00:It's been three times. Oh, your episode, your original episode with all three of us is one of our most streamed.
SPEAKER_04:One of our second highest stream. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So you're pretty popular. Wow.
SPEAKER_04:People like Angela Palamo.
SPEAKER_01:When I shared it, all my friends they watched. Thank you guys. Thank you. Good looking out. Thanks for doing that.
SPEAKER_00:Thanks for the support. Okay, what's up? What's every what was everyone's Stanley is like all up over there.
SPEAKER_04:He's like, what it all just smells the food.
SPEAKER_01:We have another dog in the We have two dogs today. In the stew.
SPEAKER_04:In the stew. Look, your obligatory weekly hair is here. Every week, Alison gets a hair on this microphone and has to remove it. This is tradition.
SPEAKER_00:That is weird. And speaking of ew, as I was driving here, there was a spider on my windshield, and I thought it was outside. And then I looked closer and it was in fact inside. That's sharing. Thank God for autopilot. My autopilot was on. So I was able. But I was okay enough to grab a tissue and just get it. Wow, good for you. I was proud of myself.
SPEAKER_04:I'm proud of you.
SPEAKER_00:Thank you. I just scream and open. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was little. I'm actually itchy now. Thinking about it. What kind of bug was this? It was a spider. Oh, a spider. But just like thinking about it makes me itchy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:We're about to do a Fear Factor video.
unknown:Oh.
SPEAKER_00:You are. I hate that.
SPEAKER_04:At BuzzFeed. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Shut up. That's so fun. Is he hosting?
SPEAKER_04:He's the new host of Fear Factor.
SPEAKER_00:I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_04:I made that face because I don't know if I'm allowed to say that we're that he's that we're doing this. So maybe just cut out and cut it out. Just his name.
SPEAKER_00:I could never be on that show. Never. Never, never, never. I would do a lot of things. I would be on a lot of shows, and Fear Factor is one that I couldn't do.
SPEAKER_04:Are you sure? Yes. Nothing could make you A billion dollars.
SPEAKER_00:A billion? A billion dollars.
SPEAKER_04:A million is the winning number.
SPEAKER_00:A million dollars is not enough for me to eat. I think that's a lot.
SPEAKER_01:I think if someone genuinely said The tax is taken out, it's like$600,000.
SPEAKER_04:I still think if someone said$600K take home, you'll have it in 30 days, eat this cockroach. No. Alison, I don't believe you.
SPEAKER_00:No, I swear to you, I can't do it. I'm gonna start a kickstart.
SPEAKER_04:Actually, you're kind of right.
SPEAKER_01:Like for real, for real. If we were like, if we said this right now, like we we could get you that one. Alison. No, I would.
SPEAKER_04:I do not believe you.
SPEAKER_00:No, if it was like bungee jump off of the Burj Khalifa, yes. Oh, that's scary. No.
SPEAKER_04:I I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there, I think there's very little any of us would actually not do for 600k take home.
SPEAKER_00:That is I'm sorry, I can't crunch a cockroach in my mouth.
SPEAKER_04:You can. It will be a traumatizing, awful 10 seconds of your life.
SPEAKER_01:But you know you're not gonna die.
SPEAKER_04:You're gonna get a dream vacation.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You can invest more of your into more things.
SPEAKER_00:Exactly. Maybe if it was like a cricket.
SPEAKER_04:But a cricket and a cockroach. She's like, what's the first thing I try?
SPEAKER_00:Those are like the same thing. No, there's something about cockroaches. They're like Exactly. They're like juicy.
SPEAKER_04:Just pretend you're Timon and Pumba, you know?
SPEAKER_01:Okay, so we would not. I I wouldn't do it either. Anyway, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:So that was that came from you saying there was a spider in your car, but it should be fun to see. Angela, what's going on with you?
SPEAKER_01:How's your week? I'm just over here with my panting dog.
SPEAKER_04:Well, he stopped immediately when the mic. That's what Stanley does too.
SPEAKER_01:What the heck? He wanted to smell it. Um, just living life. I moved.
SPEAKER_04:You did move. This is big.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. It's been a long time. I was in my last place for 14 years. I thought it was 13, but I counted. It was 14 this year. So you must have moved there right after I moved there right after I graduated, and then I was living with my sister there for like seven years.
SPEAKER_04:I guess I didn't realize Lari also lived there right away. I thought it was just you.
SPEAKER_01:She came for a time that well, we were moving into that building, and then the apartment we were gonna move into was like given away. And then he was like, But I have this one in the corner, and then we looked at it and we were like, okay.
SPEAKER_04:It's big.
SPEAKER_01:It's big, but we moved in there together.
SPEAKER_04:Where did you guys share? No, you were you had you made like the living room into your bedroom.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, the living room was my bedroom. It's so weird. Where did you guys hang out?
SPEAKER_00:Did you have people like come over?
SPEAKER_01:No, never. I mean, like maybe guys we dated, but like not really, because like we were in each other's space. Right. We would just like smoke weed and go to Target.
SPEAKER_03:Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Every day for four years. She doesn't smoke anymore. No, I seven. Then she like got sober and got married, and yeah, now she lives like 10 minutes away from me. But yeah, that's it. But yeah, I moved on the other side of the uh 170.
SPEAKER_04:Just like one across the square.
SPEAKER_01:Literally in the same, like if you drew a line across a map, that's me. Incredible. But there's a big difference, I'll tell you that. There is a big difference. Big difference.
SPEAKER_04:And like it's not, I mean it's not you got to experience rent control, which is nice.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, yeah. But now I'm like, I'm ready to live better and just work harder and I'll pay more.
SPEAKER_04:You've upgraded you've got you've upgraded. We'll get it.
SPEAKER_01:I've upgraded, so it's been good, right? It stops every time.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, well, congratulations on the move. Thank you. We um Angela, I'm really proud of her because in true Aquarius fashion, she doesn't ask for help, and I can relate. And she reached out and asked if I could assist her in getting a couch, and it was an adventure and a successful one.
SPEAKER_01:It was, and we did it so fast. So fast. Just two hours. I got it, it it's kind of like this color. But it's um, it's a little bit like smaller this way, and um yeah, it's from World Market. It's really cute. I love world markets.
SPEAKER_04:Are you liking the rug too?
SPEAKER_01:I like the rug is is gonna be hell. It's gonna get dirty, and I'm not gonna be able to wash it and it's gonna fall apart because I've already had the plumber in twice, and with his dirty shoes, he's already put marks on it. And I can't even like wash this rug because it starts to tear apart, pill.
SPEAKER_00:I really hate that. When that people come into my apartment, I try to just like stand on the carpet so they have to walk around me. That is so smart. But I never know. I've heard people that come into ours, like they usually put things on their feet though.
SPEAKER_01:So that they did not, and you know how small a the spot is. All he has to do is walk 10 steps and he just covered my whole carpet. Oh god. So sorry. So sorry. And then the dishwasher flooded today because the hose was open and they didn't even there was nothing connected to the end of the drain, so it drained out into the living room. Oh no, and I was like, wait, this isn't the right. Yeah, no, and I almost had left and left the dishwasher on, so the whole place would have been flooded, but I stopped it right in time.
SPEAKER_04:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01:And then the guy came and he was like, I gotta run to Home Depot real quick. I'm like, Yeah, you do.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, get going.
SPEAKER_01:Thanks. So that carpet has been through so much.
SPEAKER_04:It's your initiation into the place. Yeah, did your bed find like also expand?
SPEAKER_01:It expanded. Okay, we like opened our mattress and it was like it's the most comfortable mattress. It's such a steal because it was cheap. Nice. I got it for Black Friday, and it's amazing. Congrats. That's good. Yeah, it's good. Wait, what kind is it? Because I kind of need a new one. Like an Amazon, and I'm not usually one to like buy from Amazon, but my sister has the same bed, and I sat on it, and I was like, this is the she's like, it's Amazon. She sent me the link. Wow. I'll send it to you. It's impressively like um it's amazing. So you know amazing.
SPEAKER_04:You have to say to her.
SPEAKER_00:Send me drop the link.
SPEAKER_04:Drop the link. It's Angela's favorite thing. Angela's favorite thing. I drop the link. And she didn't drive anything. No, well, she did. No, she did buy something from the link.
SPEAKER_01:And then I say drop the link. And if you don't send me the link in time, I Google image search. Yeah. Okay. I have Sorina's entire apartment in my house.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I've sent her bras. I have you ever bought a bra? Uh no, but it's still on my list.
SPEAKER_04:The link is still there.
SPEAKER_01:The link is there. Actually, I might have lost it. Can you drop the link? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah, those bras. I remember that.
SPEAKER_01:Actually, that's a great bra. I wear the same bra, two bras. I literally go back and forth and then wash them, and I'm like, well, this is where I'm gonna live through these bras. These bras.
SPEAKER_00:They have foodie bras.
SPEAKER_01:I just live in the same two bras. It's really sad. Yeah. But then they're the best. I have a lot of fancy bras, and I'm like, what do people do with these?
SPEAKER_04:They wear them to fancy events. Yeah, it's all. So we should go to a fancy event so you wear a fancy dress.
SPEAKER_01:See the bra through the dress. Like, you know, you're seeing wear like because they're like patterned.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, so you're supposed to wear like a booby shirt to show off the pattern.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, Alex.
SPEAKER_04:Am I wrong?
SPEAKER_01:Is this like 1997 Sex in the City? Do people do that?
SPEAKER_04:I think like a cami. Isn't that what it's called? Like a cami over a bra.
SPEAKER_01:Imagine wearing a cami with your brain, you know.
SPEAKER_04:That's what people do, right?
SPEAKER_00:Or did it?
SPEAKER_01:I mean, we can make a feedback. Bring it back. It's kind of great.
SPEAKER_04:Make some content around it.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You're like, I have all these fancy brains. I guess the bras are coming. So I decided why not bring back this look.
SPEAKER_01:You know what? I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_04:I think you should. Next. It might go viral.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Because people be like, oh my god, yeah, the Cammy and Bra.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, there you go. Your manager over here.
SPEAKER_04:Isn't it around the same time? Because we're all around the same age, where like girls were also doing like 14 tank tops.
SPEAKER_00:Oh yeah, like a millionaire. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. Speaking of, I actually took a picture. I can't find it right now, but I walked into Hollister at a mall recently just to I was looking for something and I was like, I haven't been in here in a while. I'm gonna check it out. Nope. No, it was exactly I walked into 2006. It was crazy. There was layered with like a jean mini skirt, layered camis, and like a like a cropped uh tube top? No, like a cropped zip-up with like fur. Like it was you like juicy.
SPEAKER_01:Whoa, that is crazy.
SPEAKER_00:I can't find it, but maybe if I Google No, I know what you're saying.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I can picture it. I can see it.
SPEAKER_04:2006 Hollister fashion.
SPEAKER_01:Sure, just put Hollister current.
SPEAKER_00:Because it's current. Oh, this is actually there right now, but hold on, let me find.
SPEAKER_01:Are you still panting? Oh my gosh, I got this great thing for Prince because my the his dentist is I I take him two times a year to the dentist. And she's like, Oh, you should bring him a third time because he gets a lot of plaque. And I'm like, no, I'm not gonna do that. But I'm gonna figure out another way in between. So I got the finger ones.
SPEAKER_03:So did I?
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah. They work really well. You just have to like have them by your bed so you can remember.
SPEAKER_04:I know, I put them out with his food.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, that's smart.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, I can't find what I'm looking for really, but I'm following you though.
SPEAKER_04:You guys bring back pattern bras with camis, and okay.
SPEAKER_00:Well, uh get right on that.
SPEAKER_04:How's your week?
SPEAKER_00:Week was fine. I ran in a 5k on the by yourself. What I did.
SPEAKER_03:It was just a bucket list thing.
SPEAKER_00:So yeah, it was at the beginning of the year, it was at uh like Lake Belboa area. You could tell by the whole at the beginning of the year. I said this to myself that I wanted to run a 5k. And then I would be like, okay, in a few months, like I'll like practice or I'll you know I'll train. And then it just like wasn't ever happening. Sure. And then if like a month or so ago, I was like, hmm, if I'm gonna do this, I gotta find one. And I looked on like I just like Googled 5Ks in the area, and the only one close was this one that this was on Sunday, which was nice because it is like nine minutes from where I live. So but I did think it was on Saturday. So Friday, so Friday night, I like get in bed and I'm like, okay, what time should I set my alarm for? And I pull up the email from them to be like, okay, here's the information for it. And I was like, it's not weird.
SPEAKER_04:We're like, sorry, Josh, can't hang tonight because I gotta rest.
SPEAKER_00:Literally we did that. We had two parties, and I I did not drink at them, and we like went home early because oh my god. Sorry, guys. Oh, wait, sorry, no, no, no, no, that isn't true. We we did that on Saturday when I knew that I did have it, but on Friday, I also was like, I gotta go to be a bed at a certain time. Yeah. Um, and so then I like I I look at the stuff and I'm like, that's weird. It says it's the seventh on Sunday, that's which is not tomorrow. And I was like, no way. Like I've done this mental preparation for the morning, and now I have to do that all over again tomorrow, where we have two parties to go to.
SPEAKER_01:Oh no.
SPEAKER_00:So it was fine. Yeah, we went, we had two parties. One was our dodgeball get together because we didn't guys won again. Wait. We did, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I didn't see any of the photos, I just saw a bunch of bros.
SPEAKER_00:I know because we left, I guess before there was a picture taken. We were there for like an hour or so. No, Jack.
SPEAKER_04:There's like he took videos and stuff. It's all bros.
SPEAKER_00:It is all bros. I was like, you pop in and pop out. Well, no, we were there for like an hour. We got there at like uh I think it started at That's pop-in, pop out. That is a pop-in.
SPEAKER_04:I think an hour is a pop-in, pop-out.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, I think so too.
SPEAKER_04:Because you get in, you get settled for 15 minutes, you have one conversation, you start your goodbyes, and you're out.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, sure. Because we had to do that. Not to say it wasn't quality time.
SPEAKER_04:Oh no, I'm sorry, Allison.
SPEAKER_00:There was some girls there when we because like Josh and I, it was there was already like three people there when we got there. And then Josh and I, and then there's some random people that came that I didn't know. They were not part of the dodgeball team, they were just friends. Um, so but anyway, sorry. Then we went to a party where it was a Christmas cookie exchange. Oh, that's fine. And I had made these hot cocoa cookies, and like they tasted good, but they didn't really look good. I think I overmixed the butter.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, that happens.
SPEAKER_00:I over creamed, if you will. And so it kind of just like flattened, you know. So it was fine. They tasted fine, but it wasn't the cutest.
SPEAKER_04:Also, what a bummer because you were like, I'm gonna do this 5k and I get rewarded by going and partying tonight.
SPEAKER_00:Right, right. Like you were ready to like celebrate after. And then I was like, Well, I can't, I don't want to drink because I wanna like it. Yeah, you are here, yeah. And so, yeah, we I think we left at like midnight. So it wasn't even that early. We had planned on 11:30 and then it just like didn't happen. So got home at like 12 15 and moving forward.
SPEAKER_04:Did you go to this whole thing alone? You literally went alone.
SPEAKER_00:I did go alone, but Josh, he like Josh came and watched me.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, that's what I was gonna ask. I was like, were you was someone there to watch? Yeah, he got let your friends know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I know. I just like was kind of worried because my goal no no no my goal was that I wanted to run the whole thing, and I feel like I felt like I would have been maybe like I don't know what the word, maybe embarrassed or something. I don't know what I thought. If I if I wasn't able to run the whole time, because like that was my the goal was I participated in a 5k before. But it was like a a run walk situation, like whatever. And so this one I was like, I'm going to run the whole time. And I think I was just like so stressed that uh of doing that that I just was like, and I'm who wants to get up at 9 a.m.
SPEAKER_04:Well, we used to go do these for Bobos and Noosa, like I loved them.
SPEAKER_01:Oh like hand stuff out, but we didn't run them.
SPEAKER_04:No, but like the environment of them, I enjoyed being there. Yeah, so I I know what it is to go as a guest. It's like that.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I've done the turkey trot several times. Oh I've done an unofficial, I guess, but I definitely didn't no big deal.
SPEAKER_01:But that's like a three mile. Wait, that's a 5k? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I've done a few.
SPEAKER_00:Um, but yeah, it was for the arthritis foundation. Oh, there was okay arthritis foundation, which is like it's a worthy cause. Um definitely. But yeah, I so I got up at like seven and then like slowly got up. I was like treating this like it was like a for real marathon or something.
SPEAKER_03:No, I would have taken the back season too.
SPEAKER_00:I stretched. I had this, I didn't have coffee because I was afraid I was gonna poop my paper. I wondered.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god, really? You gotta drink it fast, get it out. I tried.
SPEAKER_00:So then when I got up that early, I was like, okay, I'm gonna like get it out and couldn't go, but I didn't really wanna I didn't want to have the coffee because I was afraid. So I don't know. No, that makes sense. I better safe. And I went to register, and then I like sat in my car for a little bit. I drank my Celsius. I like tried to get my mind right.
SPEAKER_01:Celsius, that stuff makes me crazy. Well, there you go.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, needed for a run. But so I've trained a couple times. I've gone to um Lake Hollywood. Have you ever been there? It's like a reservoir. Yeah, that whole thing is like a three and a half mile loop. Oh, yeah. And it's like flat, it's a loop, so it's not it's like really a nice place.
SPEAKER_04:Is it kind of over? Oh no, that's the line.
SPEAKER_00:It is. There's a park about that. There's a park under the Hollywood sign. There is, but that one is crazy to park at. Oh, it is. So if you just park and you do, you have to walk like a half a mile, I guess, to get to there's a bridge at the reservoir, and the I think sign is right there. The greatest spot to take pictures ever. It's just kind of annoying because you have to walk a little bit. Oh, actually, there's another parking lot that's closer. So actually, I don't know what I'm saying. It's the we have to take everyone there that wants to see the Hollywood sign. I was like shocked.
SPEAKER_01:You can't bring dogs into that area because it's like the reservoir. Wait, I've seen so many people with their dogs. Really? Yeah. At the park, but but not past there, not for like the walk.
SPEAKER_00:The loop that I was running so many dogs. Oh, interesting. So either they're just doing it or something changed. But I have been I had run there a few times and I was like, I can do it. So yeah, I Did it? Josh, like kind of I told him to post up at the sort of at the end because that's when I would need the most motivation.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Um, this girl, okay. At the beginning of a 5K, I'm assuming they're all it's always a thing. Like, if you're like a good runner, like start at the front so that you're not like trampling over people. Sure. This girl like plops herself right at the front.
SPEAKER_03:I'm like, how many runners would you uh estimate? It kind of looked like on the smaller side.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, probably a couple hundred. I was like 150 something.
SPEAKER_01:So okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:She plops herself right at the front. I was like, you know what? Get a girl, you know your strengths. I'm not kidding you. This girl, I'm about halfway to the turnaround point, and she's already coming back. She finishes obviously first. And then as I'm coming back, now I'm like, I've turned around, I'm on my last mile. She's running back again. She lapped everyone, even though she'd already finished. She said, you know what? This is a 5K, I'm gonna make it a 10K.
SPEAKER_02:I was like, I'm going in.
SPEAKER_00:What are we trying to prove here?
SPEAKER_02:How old do you think she was?
SPEAKER_00:Um, I actually looked her up on the she probably does a lot of them, right? I looked, no, I didn't have beef. I just was curious. I because I I did the untimed, but on the bib, it has the like website where you can go see your times. And I was like, maybe they still recorded the times just for fun or whatever. Um so I went to see if mine was on there. It was not, but then this girl, she was first, she is the same, she's like 32.
SPEAKER_04:Okay.
SPEAKER_00:But she is but I'm happy to say that I did really well. I had a PR. I the last time I did it, I only record.
SPEAKER_04:Oh oh.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I thought she had a publicist? Yeah, I was like, wow. Okay. No, I set a PR for my time because the last time I did it, it was like 44 minutes, and I was I was like, Josh, I was like, I'm probably gonna be 44 or 45 minutes, like just like to give you a time frame of when to like be there. And he was like, I think you're gonna get it and understand. It's different.
SPEAKER_03:That environment, I feel like you're adrenaline, it's like different elements.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I was like, no, I don't think so. Like that would be really hard to do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You your best prior to this was 45? 44. 44? I'm gonna say you did it in 38 minutes.
SPEAKER_00:35. Oh my gosh, that would be so fast. That's like an eight-minute one. So the official, so here's the thing. The official time for the race was 39.33. Oh, okay. Here's the thing is I think that the finish line was actually a few kilometers more than like what the watch said. Oh, you think? Oh because they said that at the beginning. They were like um 5k-ish, just so like your it might not match your watch to the thing. And so when I went back on my like fitness on my Apple like stuff, it did say 38 something. Oh, but my watch says 38. So I'm gonna know what that is.
SPEAKER_04:I nailed it.
SPEAKER_00:That's impressive. I'm very proud of myself. You should it was nice to have that was six minutes off your mile.
SPEAKER_04:Uh six minutes off.
SPEAKER_00:I think the first mile, I I actually went a little too hard because I was trying to probably keep up with people and I wasn't thinking about it, and there was adrenaline because honestly, the last like mile and a half, I was like, Whoa, I was like my hip, my left hip was really hard.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, it always stinks when it's something like that, like your knee or your hip, and you're like, I could keep going, but like my body isn't yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_00:But so there's I've started this thing when I'm running that amount of distance that I listen to the Hamilton soundtrack, and that's how I I'm like, okay, these songs are longer.
SPEAKER_02:I have not given away my shot.
SPEAKER_00:I'm like, these songs are longer, so like I know if it's like you know, around four minutes, it's like okay. If I'm running like 12-minute mile, it's like it's kind of a gate. Literally, it's so stupid. But like in my mind, I was like, I have to do this. And the last time I ran, I made it through to my favorite song, Wait for it.
SPEAKER_04:I was about to be like, wait for it.
SPEAKER_00:And then this time I hadn't gone there yet, and I was like, I'm done, and I hadn't gotten to wait for it. So like I knew that I had done better. Oh, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_01:But I guess I only can listen to Hamilton. Man, I think I'm the only person on the planet who did not like Hamilton. You didn't? To tell. I walked right out of the Pantages like halfway through. I was like, I can't even. Yeah, I was just like, what is it about this that people like? I know, and I'm musical theater, but like I oh my goodness, I I couldn't do it. I was like, I just no.
SPEAKER_00:I think I had listened to the soundtrack before I saw it. Like I had heard some of the songs, but I also like history.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I think that's it. I fucking hate history. I didn't pay any attention in high school. In high school, that was like the only subject I was like, I don't understand. Yeah, I'm like, what? Who?
SPEAKER_00:Why are we still talking about this? I don't know. I love it. You don't like that?
SPEAKER_04:I saw it and it was like I could have gone, I could have or couldn't have.
SPEAKER_00:You saw it without knowing anything? Like on TV or you saw the I saw it at Pantages as well.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, you did? I did.
SPEAKER_00:Wow. I don't even know. It's like I don't even know you guys.
SPEAKER_04:It's cultural relevance.
SPEAKER_00:I appreciate that too.
SPEAKER_04:Like how genius the writing is. Like and the stage was very fucking cool. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, it's like I was like, well, Hamilton does not beat out legally blonde in my favorite movie.
SPEAKER_01:No, definitely not.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, well, it's like how do we even go on from here?
SPEAKER_04:I know.
SPEAKER_01:I would, I would even, I would even go as far to say that Wicked was better.
SPEAKER_04:And that's hard because you didn't like Wicked.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah, you do. Oh, wait, do you like Mulan Rouge? No, you didn't. Um, yeah, I like Mulan Rouge. You like the play? The musical? Yeah, I've seen the musical. You like it? Yeah. Why? You don't like it? No.
SPEAKER_04:It's Megan's Megan's favorite musical. Her least favorite.
SPEAKER_01:It's not my favorite. Did you guys see the new Wicked? We don't have to talk about Wicked for Good Not Yet, no. I haven't now need to figure that out.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, we do need to figure that out. You want to come?
SPEAKER_01:I would come.
SPEAKER_04:We're putting a group together.
SPEAKER_01:I like to see stuff even if I don't like it.
SPEAKER_04:It was good. It was, I went with boyfriend, his mother, and his bestie. We went to his bestie Shannon's, who you both met. She hung out at your house. Love her family's like annual Christmas party.
SPEAKER_00:Cute. Okay. I didn't know.
SPEAKER_04:Gorgeous town in Nevada called Gardnerville.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that was so cute. That was like a movie. It was.
SPEAKER_04:It was literally like a Hallmark movie.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, that is so nice.
SPEAKER_04:It was gorgeous. Everything was cheap and affordable, but nice.
SPEAKER_01:Warm or cold?
SPEAKER_04:No, it's like 38 degrees. Oh, wow. But at night it was like 20.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_04:It was winter. But like we could see the supermoon when that happened, like so clearly. The sky was I mean, it was just what one town over is so, I don't know. We got it. We're not gonna have it again for 48 years. It was big and bright. Um, how did we miss this? It was like you you could like touch it, it was so big, it was crazy.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I think in the desert, maybe.
SPEAKER_04:Um, no, it was a known thing. It was all over TikTok. How to manifest never on TikTok. Don't say that. TikTok.
SPEAKER_01:Um I'm not. I just go to look at my one million view video.
SPEAKER_04:They have wild mustangs that go through the town.
SPEAKER_01:You hate that.
SPEAKER_04:But in the next town over, very similar vibes, they have the deer don't know fear of humans. So the town is just there's just deer hanging out next to people. We were literally driving, they're just in front yards. Deer and buck.
SPEAKER_01:Did you feed them with your hand? No.
SPEAKER_04:They have no fear.
SPEAKER_01:Well, you gotta be careful driving around.
SPEAKER_04:Well, it's that small of a town that it's not even like no one's going over 25 miles an hour. It's so small.
SPEAKER_01:Wow. That's cool.
SPEAKER_04:Anyway, it was really cute.
SPEAKER_01:That is cute. Deer and no gunshots. Yeah, it looked very picturesque. Do you know what I mean? What's going on? In New Hampshire. Are you okay? In probably needs to pee, but it'll be fine. In New Hampshire, if there's a deer, there's somebody shooting it, which is terrible.
SPEAKER_04:Same with Indiana.
SPEAKER_01:Or they're hitting it.
SPEAKER_00:Or they're hitting it, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, they're hitting it.
SPEAKER_00:Which knock on wood. That's drywall.
SPEAKER_04:I've never done them over and be like, you knocked.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, really? Are they nosy?
SPEAKER_04:Here, I got you.
SPEAKER_01:Thank you.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, that's nice.
SPEAKER_01:Is that real wood?
SPEAKER_04:Sorry, Prince. I'm sorry. That's not real wood. God damn it.
SPEAKER_01:Oh no. There is that. I got you.
SPEAKER_04:That's particle board. No, that's not real wood.
SPEAKER_01:Particle board is just made up of other woods, isn't it? Your stairs are wood. Go knock on your stairs.
SPEAKER_04:They're vinyl.
SPEAKER_01:All right. Do you have any wood?
SPEAKER_04:Well, I think that ornament from Germany.
SPEAKER_00:Drywall is wood in it, right?
SPEAKER_04:Let's move past wood top. Onto Golden Globe Top.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, the Golden Globe denominations have come out. I'm gonna say I've only seen one movie. Okay. I don't even know what's been nominated. Okay, well, I'll go through the like important ones.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, okay, let's talk.
SPEAKER_00:And we can talk, but like I can't contribute much. Oh, that's okay.
SPEAKER_01:Angel probably. Me and Alex will take over from here. Angel will be the top. Please. I don't know though. I haven't seen much either.
SPEAKER_00:Go. Okay, so best picture. The nominees are Frankenstein. Okay. Didn't love it. Hamnet. What Hamlet? Hamnet. Oh, I'm like Hamlet.
SPEAKER_01:Hamnet.
SPEAKER_00:It was just an accident. The secret agent, sentimental value, and Sinners. I've only seen Sinners. I've seen Sinners as well.
SPEAKER_04:I've only seen Frankenstein.
SPEAKER_01:What did you think of Frankenstein?
SPEAKER_04:Same.
SPEAKER_01:I was just like You're like, okay, it's visually beautiful. Visually acting was great. I mean, he, you know, Jacob Lordy's body is even as a monster. And his low voice, very good register, crazy. But it wasn't like a wow.
SPEAKER_04:I would say I was hooked because the first scene is very good. Sure. At the beginning was great. I was like, oh wow, I'm in. Yes. But then it like got very slow burn. Yeah, very slow burn. I like that the Mia Goth played the two characters. That was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_01:Yes.
SPEAKER_04:Like, yeah, again, it's Guillermo del Toro, so it was just visually gorgeous.
SPEAKER_01:Stunning.
SPEAKER_04:But like, yeah. I was like, it's not really memorable.
SPEAKER_01:100%. But it could probably win for that. But I don't know any of the other ones besides Sinners. Sinners, which I did not love. Oh, really? I liked it. But I didn't see Sinners in the should.
SPEAKER_04:I know. Well, I know. Well, between Sinners and Frankenstein, I would say Frankenstein, but that's between between what I know, which is just Frankenstein, I don't know that it's strong enough to win best picture. I think like it's a respectful nomination because of who created it and the way it was done, but I don't know that it's I'm gonna be honest.
SPEAKER_00:I didn't see the original Frankenstein, so I know nothing.
SPEAKER_01:I think this is close to the book or something. It's yeah, like an old isn't there an old Frankenstein movie?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_04:I think there's hundreds of thousands of them.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, hundreds of thousands.
SPEAKER_04:Because this is really like this is this is Mary Shelley's interpretation. Like this is her book.
SPEAKER_01:Based off of the book. Yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_04:She is the book.
SPEAKER_01:She's the book. No, what I'm saying is this is the closest to the book.
SPEAKER_04:Correct. This was this movie was an adaptation of the book.
SPEAKER_01:Of the book, aren't they all you were saying the same thing?
SPEAKER_04:No, there's like people that take liberties to do like Frankenstein's Monster. Have you never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show?
SPEAKER_00:Right. The green one with the things is not No, because that they call that thing Frankenstein.
SPEAKER_04:Frankenstein is the name of the scientist.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I thought people I thought that was just people not knowing.
SPEAKER_04:It's called Frankenstein's Monster. Um okay, okay, let's move on.
SPEAKER_00:Best picture, musical, or comedy. That's three different things. Why is that one thing? Because there's not enough in the category, probably. That's why. Okay. Blue Moon. Nope. Begonia. Nope. Marty Supreme, no other choice, Nouvelle Vague, and one battle after another. Wow, haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_04:I think one battle after another is gonna win because of what about Bagonia? Oh, that's true. That has gotten a lot of things.
SPEAKER_01:She's uh she looks I heard her performance was incredible.
SPEAKER_04:That's true. I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, she's great.
SPEAKER_04:Could be that. That's high contender.
SPEAKER_00:Best FEMA actor motion picture drama, Jesse Buckley, Hamnet, Jennifer Lawrence, Die My Love, Frenate, Ryan, Rines Sentimental Value. I don't know how to say her name. Sorry. I would say it like that too. Ryan's V Julia Roberts, After the Hunt, Tessa Thompson, Heda, and Eva Victor, sorry, babies.
SPEAKER_01:After the hunt, should we just talk about classic cars at this point? Like we don't even know like I haven't seen any of these. It's so crazy.
SPEAKER_04:There's usually a couple, but it's never this vast. This is a good thing. This is just this is a peek at what the Oscar's bad.
SPEAKER_01:This was like an indie year. This was like a year of like different types of what about television?
SPEAKER_04:Well, give us a television cat.
SPEAKER_01:Give us one that we at least know two in the category.
SPEAKER_02:That's the same thing.
SPEAKER_00:Are you big on stand-up comedy? Sure. I watch some stuff. Best performance in stand-up comedy on television. We have Bill Maher. Is anyone else seeing this? Nope. Brett Goldstein, The Second Best Night of Your Life, Kevin Hart, Acting My Age. Watch that. Kumal Nanjani, Night Thoughts, Ricky Gervais, Mortality, and Sarah Silverman Postmortem. I only saw Kevin Hart.
SPEAKER_04:I'm gonna say. Well, we interviewed that guy last night. Who's that? Kumal Nanjani.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, you interviewed him?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, on the carpet for Fallout 2.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, he's awesome.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, he was great. Um, have no I have nothing to say about this. Nothing to say. I hope Sarah's.
SPEAKER_00:I've seen Brett Goldstein's actually. He is. Did you watch um You love him?
SPEAKER_04:He's the guy, he is the one from SNL that does the I know him from uh Ted Lasso.
SPEAKER_00:Don't know who that is. He's like uh please did you watch Ted Lasso? Yeah, he's like the um older guy that was like the best player on the team that like starts, I forget his name in the show, that starts like kind of not doing well, so then they make him a coach. Yeah, yeah. He's like he's got like a bad attitude, he's kind of mean or whatever. Sure, sure, sure.
SPEAKER_04:He's the guy that co hosted the Grammy the I'll just show you him.
SPEAKER_00:Show me a picture. Oh, hosted the Oscars?
SPEAKER_04:Uh who whoever just hosted the last award show.
SPEAKER_00:No, I don't think he's hosted anything.
SPEAKER_04:It's not him.
SPEAKER_00:He's just like a British, yeah. Never seen that man in my life. But he's I uh uh Josh and I watched a little bit of his, and it was okay. I don't think he's gonna win.
SPEAKER_04:I cannot believe how many tabs you have opened.
SPEAKER_00:Shush.
SPEAKER_04:Incredible.
SPEAKER_00:Call her out. Shush. Okay. Best podcast. It's without it. Okay, we have Armchair Expert with Dak Shepard, Call Her Daddy. It's Call Her Daddy. Good Hang with Amy Polar, the Mel Robbins podcast, Smartless, and Up First. Here's my thing: they love Smartless.
SPEAKER_04:They do love Smartless.
SPEAKER_00:Like the I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:The Mel Robbins podcast is the number one female podcast. Like, she's the number one female podcast podcast.
SPEAKER_00:I thought Call Her Daddy was.
SPEAKER_04:No, she's outbeats.
SPEAKER_00:Mel Robbins? Wow. Yeah, people do. I don't, I've never listened, but it's like self self-help, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I love her. The let them theory. Okay, anyway, we're not getting into Mel Robinson. Let them.
SPEAKER_00:I honestly think I don't know. Amy Polar might win.
SPEAKER_04:She's had I just listened to her podcast today. She interviews with Louise Dreyfus.
SPEAKER_01:Julia Louis Julie Julia Louis Dry Louis Dreyfus.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Incredible. I love Is that correct?
SPEAKER_01:But it is new. This is new this year.
SPEAKER_04:You're right, you're right, you're right. It hasn't cooked.
SPEAKER_00:But I honestly think they like literally love Smartless.
SPEAKER_04:And Armchair. Alright, Smartless, fine.
SPEAKER_00:I don't know. I my guess is Smartless. The only one I listen to is Caller Daddy. So I have no opinion. Caller Daddy.
SPEAKER_01:I like her. I watched her documentary.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, her documentary was great. I think she's, you know, powerful. Okay, I think we could talk about this. Best cinematic and box office achievement.
SPEAKER_04:Means it did really well in the box office.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:Right there in the title.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, so like if it like Wow, this one exceeded.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Right. Okay, let's hear it.
SPEAKER_00:So Avatar, Fire and Ash.
SPEAKER_04:How do they know it just released? How is it already nominated?
SPEAKER_00:Because they know it's gonna, they it's projected. Oh, I don't know. And I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen any Avatar ever.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, really? Wow. I know. They just go, they're good in 4DX because you're like, it's like a ride at six flags. Do you get nauseous?
SPEAKER_04:I'm sure.
SPEAKER_00:A little bit, but it's worth it.
SPEAKER_01:You gotta take a zoeprint.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, F1, K-pop Demon Hunters, Mission Impossible, The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked for Good, Zootopia.
SPEAKER_04:I want Weapons to win. I want it to win, but it won't.
SPEAKER_00:No, it might. I don't know what. I think K-pop Demon Hunters probably could. I think Sinners could, and I think Wicked could.
SPEAKER_01:I think Wicked had its first, like the first time around, maybe, but this time around, I think they have less people. That's fair.
SPEAKER_04:They didn't win much. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01:And this is even gonna be less. I have a dog hair floating right now. See?
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I was gonna say anything. Um okay. I feel like you guys watch these.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, it's mine. It's on my mic.
SPEAKER_00:That's see, it happens to me every time. Okay, okay. Best musical or comedy series television. Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murder in the Building, The Studio. And you guys, we have one of the stars. Nobody wants this. Right here on the pods.
SPEAKER_01:I'm leaving. No, uh, you did such a good job. Oh, thanks. All I had to do is nothing as in the background.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, you look gorgeous, and they keep they're putting you in the thumbnails, so you must look good.
SPEAKER_01:That's true. I know that is true.
SPEAKER_04:I do not think that show's gonna win because I've never seen anything like that show in my life. It's crazy. It's like, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_01:Oh my gosh, nobody wants ad placements. Oh, the ad placement adds everything.
SPEAKER_00:Well, the first season wasn't like that. Yeah. Oh, that was so crisp. That was great. Anyway, why were we signed up by Dr. Pepper? I feel like the bear is kind of over. Uh yeah, I never see Only Murders.
SPEAKER_04:I feel like it's gonna be hacks. Yeah. And Abbott is great, but I don't think it will win.
SPEAKER_00:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Agreed. Okay, we have best female actor motion in a motion picture, musical, or comedy. Rose Byrne, if I had legs, I'd kick you. Cynthia Revo, Wicked for Good. Kate Hudson, Song Sung Blue, Chase Infinity, One Battle After Another, Amanda Safer, The Testament of Anne Lee, and Emma Stone, Begonia. Begonia. Male Actor Motion Picture. Timothy Chalamet, Marty Supreme, George Clooney, Jay Kelly, Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another, Ethan Hawk, Blue Moon, Lee Byung Hun, No Other Choice, and Jesse Plemens Begonia. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:Maybe Timothy Leo, interesting.
SPEAKER_00:Maybe Timothy. Leo never wins. So don't even take him out.
SPEAKER_01:I don't know. And it's not gonna be his best performance. He already had his best.
unknown:I didn't watch any of those.
SPEAKER_00:Pass. Best drama series, The Diplomat, The Pit, Pluribus, Severance, Slow Horses, The White Lotus. Severance or White Lotus. Here's the thing.
SPEAKER_04:I just watched Pluribus. Have you guys watched it?
SPEAKER_00:But I haven't been hearing a lot of people talk about it.
SPEAKER_04:I really wanted to like it, but I got super bored.
SPEAKER_00:Severance just feels like it's like old news.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god, I love Severance. I just think it's not. I didn't watch season two. I didn't know. They build it so well, but it's it's a it is slow and it just keeps going, but like there's so many like levels to the story, and they somehow were able to carry it through for like three seasons, and it's like still Yeah, yeah. Like, but but it not even like that much is happening, but so much is happening. Does it make sense?
SPEAKER_04:That's good writing. Yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_00:I could I started watching the first episode and I was so confused. This was like two years ago.
SPEAKER_04:Well, here's the thing with the first the first season it takes you till episode seven before you actually understand what's going on. It is confusing for a while.
SPEAKER_01:Exactly. And then there's just like levels and they go and they go and yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I will say, let's not forget that last year's award seasons, the pit won basically every year.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, it did. It did. I don't think it was. Stanley just looked at Purin's like, come over here. Do you want to play? Do you want to play?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, right. Okay. We're going to end on Best Supporting Female Actor. Wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_01:Was there anything for Chad Powers?
unknown:No.
SPEAKER_01:I haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_04:Is that good?
SPEAKER_01:I know a lot of people like it.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, you will. Is it good?
SPEAKER_01:It's my favorite.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I need to watch it. It's on my list. It's on my list.
SPEAKER_01:It's like my favorite. It's so good.
SPEAKER_04:Like, is it your favorite in the way where you like you want to get into the season?
SPEAKER_01:It's my favorite in the way like it's written like old school comedy where it's like just simple and like but stupid. Does it feel like Ted Lasso or not as serious? Um kind of like it's like Ted Lasso, but it's a little bit more like it's just like goofy. I don't know. Oh, that's fun. And he's so like likable. Yeah. A lot of people. I've heard that. I never cared for him until I watched Tad Powers. And I was like, okay.
SPEAKER_04:You didn't like anyone but you?
SPEAKER_01:Shut up. No, I didn't.
SPEAKER_04:That is literally. Do you know how many times a week I watch it?
SPEAKER_01:It's good. Do you really? You love it that much?
SPEAKER_04:I don't know what it is about this movie that has there's no reason.
SPEAKER_01:But Sydney, right?
SPEAKER_04:I don't love Sydney Sweet Something that's good.
SPEAKER_01:Because it's believable. Like they love each other.
SPEAKER_04:Like you're looking at it and you're like, just is one of those, and I can fall asleep. Oh, you're gonna love Chad Powers.
SPEAKER_00:You're gonna love it.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, let's end on uh best supporting female actor. Okay. Emily Blunt, the smashing machine, El Fanning, Sentimental Value, Ariana Grande, Wicked for Goodness. What is that?
SPEAKER_01:Is that upstairs? Maybe something just fell. What just happened? Stop. You're scaring me.
unknown:I don't know what to go.
SPEAKER_01:Stop.
SPEAKER_04:But this has been happening for the last, I would say, three weeks.
SPEAKER_01:What? I do not get to the point.
SPEAKER_04:I have two shampoo bottles with pumps. I've had them for like three months. They sit in the same spot in my shower. And for the last three weeks, randomly at night, the just the conditioner goes flying in the bathtub. No. And ends up on the other side of the tub.
SPEAKER_00:No. I reject any energy. It was so loud.
SPEAKER_04:No, that's but it's it's a big bottle. It's big.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, but how does it come down? Is it is there any blood? It's probably the water.
SPEAKER_04:It's just slipping because I am susceptible to spirits and I don't feel any.
SPEAKER_01:Is there water underneath it? Did you look?
SPEAKER_04:No, I didn't look because it's I don't understand why it's happening, but it is close to the edge. I don't have a very big ledge. It's probably not a ghost. That's what it was.
SPEAKER_00:I need to say about the ghost. You said that about my apartment, and Josh does not believe you.
SPEAKER_04:No, Josh, you're wrong. I have I would feel a presence. I had a ghost, Gladys. She followed me for years. I know what it feels like.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, okay. Okay. Well, I reject. Not even Catholic. I heard that.
SPEAKER_04:Did you hear that?
SPEAKER_01:Is that like fast as footsteps?
SPEAKER_00:No, I didn't hear that.
SPEAKER_01:We both heard it.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god. Okay. That's probably my neighbors. All right, whatever. I think Ariana Grande is gonna win that. That's all I have to say about that.
SPEAKER_01:Keep talking.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, the next thing I have to say, I wrote this down because I've been having friends on at night to fall asleep to. And like I know as we've gone older, we're all kind of like Ross is kind of the worst, right? Isn't that kind of the consensus, or no?
SPEAKER_01:I don't think so. Oh wait, it's how is your consensus and then we'll say wrong.
SPEAKER_00:My my thing I want to say is like, how long did Ross and Rachel even date for like all of this? It's like too much.
SPEAKER_01:Not even a season. They like built it all up, then they got together, but then they broke out all this.
SPEAKER_04:The end of season four going into season five.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. For that like one night.
SPEAKER_04:For five and six. Then they break up during the end of six. They're they have seven, they're not together.
SPEAKER_00:How do you know each season? They're not together for all those seasons.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, they are.
SPEAKER_02:What?
SPEAKER_01:They're just like, they're just kind of like going back and forth.
SPEAKER_04:There's a lot of on again off again, but they're together for all of season four and five.
SPEAKER_01:Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00:I don't remember. It just does not seem like that. It seems like they're so like, it's so serious, but then I'm like, it feels like you dated for like actually five and a half days, and you're like, but remember the roots of Ross and Rachel.
SPEAKER_04:They have known each other since they were in middle school. Right. Well when Ross was in high school, she was in middle school.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, he was just in love with her and she didn't get it. Right.
SPEAKER_04:There's roots, there's history, there's yearning. Yearning is everyone forgets about yearning. There's something too much.
SPEAKER_00:That could be years.
SPEAKER_04:Yearning, there's really no end.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yearning is really a little like I don't know, self-centered. I don't know. There's something about I don't like to hear that.
SPEAKER_04:I'm a geller, so like that directly affects me.
SPEAKER_00:I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:I am a Ross Rey. I am a Ross Monica combo.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, oh my god. You're a Ross. Did you take a test? Or is this just from I have taken tests.
SPEAKER_04:I always end up getting Monica, but I really think I'm a combo of the two of them.
SPEAKER_00:I'm a Monica and a cousin.
SPEAKER_04:We're a step somewhere.
SPEAKER_00:I don't know. I don't think I've taken a test, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:I'd probably be like none of you are none of us are all one. I would say you're a combination of Phoebe and Chandler. No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_00:Chandler.
unknown:Oh.
SPEAKER_04:No.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Well, so you don't think I'm pretty no Monica's pretty. I meant to call you.
SPEAKER_04:You don't think I'm Rachel. No, no, no. I think I think you're a Phoebe Rachel, though.
SPEAKER_01:Really? I think I'm Monica.
SPEAKER_04:Really?
SPEAKER_01:Monica Joey?
SPEAKER_04:Fun. That's a fun combo. That's just the boss.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Maybe Joe, maybe Joey Phoebe? That would be crazy. I'm not a Jerry.
SPEAKER_04:It's maybe maybe Joey Rachel.
SPEAKER_01:Joey Rachel. Yeah. Rachel with a little Joey. And your hair right now is very Rachel.
unknown:Excuse me.
SPEAKER_00:Fair enough.
unknown:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:But yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Did you have you been watching the Kardashians? You have. I have. And you did you watch? I never missed an episode. Oh gosh. Okay. So I wrote this down. I wanted to talk about. I watched the um I've not like the Paris thing. Yeah, I'm not totally up to date, but I did watch the trial episode. Okay. And I did not know how bad the robbery was.
SPEAKER_04:I was watching with I was watching with boyfriend had the same. I was like, I didn't, I I really just breezed over it in the way that she calls it out in the at the end when she's like, yeah, the the the press was really grandpa robbers barely, you know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I guess I did I like didn't question whether it happened because she also said that that people were thought that they set it up to her ex-husband even said right, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_04:I don't know, do you think she means Kanye? Or do you think she spelled you don't think she meant no raging Humphreys?
SPEAKER_00:No, ten years ago she was with Kanye.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, right with Kanye. Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_00:That's just because he just says shit. I don't know. I remember I remember her saying something about they like put tape over her mouth or something, but that's all the extent that I heard. Did not know that her friend was downstairs. I just did not know most of that.
SPEAKER_01:Well, because they don't share the facts, they just share, they just want to make her look yeah.
SPEAKER_04:One of the robbers that wrote a book about it.
SPEAKER_01:I know, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00:And he did that interview where he was like, I don't feel bad.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, wow, that was crazy.
SPEAKER_00:He yeah, he said um the interviewer was like, Do you would you do you feel bad? Would you take it back? And he was like, No, like she's flaunting, she's like throwing away her money, so I don't feel bad that I robbed, like I robbed her. Wow, it was wild. I couldn't believe it. It was crazy. Yeah, and then they didn't even get more time in jail because they've already been. They already served it, so they just are out. No, that's so crazy.
SPEAKER_04:There's just like but yeah, that would be very, very fucking traumatizing. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And she's so good at like getting through stuff because God knows, like, she with the whole Kanye, like imagine being married to Kanye West. Yeah. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_04:She's still a sane person.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, she has a compartment that she puts everything in.
SPEAKER_00:Most people wouldn't be able to. But I want to know if you guys were Simone, what would you have done?
SPEAKER_01:Same thing. I would imagine if it all ducked into action. No, you wouldn't have. If right now, if I was upstairs and you heard me screaming and like saw men up there, you would just you would do what you could and call the police. You wouldn't go upstairs.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, definitely call the police.
SPEAKER_01:I would absolutely have guns. No, but if you heard them like, get down, get like, and you were like, Okay, these people have guns. It is kind of tough. You're gonna be like, Okay, oh my god, let me call the police. Like, let me do that.
SPEAKER_04:That's a tough call, but I would probably do it.
SPEAKER_01:No, you wouldn't. There's no way, Alex.
SPEAKER_04:I would run into a burning building.
SPEAKER_01:That's okay, but but if you but your logic would would come into play and you'd be like, what's the right thing to do right now? It wouldn't be to go up there and intervene. It would be No, I would first call.
SPEAKER_00:Right. I do uh say, I want to flag. Ten years ago, it was we had smartphones, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah, but sh but they're in another country. I don't think it everything works the same. Because I was just confused as to why she didn't just Google what's 911 in France.
SPEAKER_04:Well, she called Courtney, right? She called Courtney right away.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, but Courtney couldn't have to meet it. Obviously, like she was panicking. So it's like I'm not judging her at all.
SPEAKER_04:But I was like thinking like thankfully, maybe I wouldn't go up there, but I would enact something, like do something I've always wanted to do in like a desperate situation, and that is create some sort of crazy distraction. So maybe I would like open the door and ring the doorbell profusely, just like scare the shit out of them.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Yeah, but then they like run and hide and kill you.
SPEAKER_04:They come down stairs and kill you. I would be I would hide. Right.
SPEAKER_01:You'd be ready to die. What? No, you're gonna hide.
SPEAKER_04:Are you trying to make yourself feel better because you would hide in protection?
SPEAKER_01:No, because you would. That the first thing you would do is, oh my god, okay, I'm the one that they're not. You know what I mean? Like, I'd like to give a real life example.
SPEAKER_04:Hold on. So I went to go look at a house with our mutual friend Jasmine. We all know her.
SPEAKER_01:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:And a German shepherd jumped a fence and was running towards Jasmine. Without a thought, I move her out of the way. The German Shepherd grabs onto my leg.
SPEAKER_01:We're talking about a dog.
SPEAKER_04:But I didn't know the admission was run away from her.
SPEAKER_01:No, of course you would do that. God no, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02:We were there with her and they ran.
SPEAKER_01:So your fight in that was flight.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I do think if you heard, if right now Angela was upstairs, you heard of multiple voices. I think that you wouldn't go up there. Run up there blind. If you if it was one voice, maybe I disagree.
SPEAKER_01:We know you're a hero. We you don't have to prove yourself. Crap, I gotta hide, I gotta get my phone. I got we need help. We need help. Because if you go up there, what are you doing to help? Because you're never gonna get you're gonna die.
SPEAKER_04:Wrong. If you if I sat downstairs and listened to you potentially or maybe actually get killed, I would never be able to live with myself that I didn't try. You want me to live the rest of my life knowing that I could have maybe stopped your death?
SPEAKER_01:You against four guys with guns. I don't understand. What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_04:Two robbers to four guys with founders. It was four guys. Oh, it was four guys.
SPEAKER_01:It was four guys they have. What are you going to do to four guys with guns? I'm just curious. What would you do? What would your first move be? Tell us.
SPEAKER_04:My first move would be to call the authorities. Correct.
SPEAKER_01:And then you go upstairs and chop them in the neck with the other things.
SPEAKER_04:I would do something, I would do something out of out of like.
SPEAKER_01:You throw knives at the wall. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_04:We would bang on the wall and be like, hey, what's going on up there? Then like freak them out, be like, oh, someone's here. I would here's what I know. Here's what I know. I wouldn't do nothing.
SPEAKER_01:For sure, but calling the authorities is not nothing. That's the that's the bug. Right, Simone, that wasn't nothing.
SPEAKER_04:That was something.
SPEAKER_00:And it's lucky for Simone that they did not kill her because if she's a weak woman. What is she gonna do? If they had killed Kim, then yes, Simone would be living with that guilt that she should have done more. But they did get lucky that they didn't do that and she was able to call someone and all of that. So, like it is the circumstance that they did not kill Kim.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, I'm gonna make this a cut down and it's gonna go crazy. People are you people are going to lose their shit. I love it, and they're gonna side with me, but go ahead.
SPEAKER_00:That's all. I just like I wanted to talk about how crazy that was. Yeah, it is crazy.
SPEAKER_01:And I was from Santa for six hours in her heels. I and my my favorite part was that she still wore the diamonds. I do.
SPEAKER_00:I was like, this is why she's successful because she doesn't care.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:At first, when I saw the headlines that she had worn jewels and stuff, I was like, Oh, I don't know about that. Like, but then when I heard her explanation of it, I was like, And by the way, the reason it's in the I thought the same thing because I had that same thought.
SPEAKER_04:I was like, Oh, she never even clapped back publicly because she was like, Oh no, I'll be able to like tell my side of it one day. She's so chill about it.
SPEAKER_00:I know, and that's I mean, people don't give her credit where it's due, which is nice for them with the show that they can just be like, I know I can just say what I want to say.
SPEAKER_04:She just released her masterclass and it's like a little tempted.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, on what's what's the subject?
SPEAKER_04:Masterclass. Oh, how to build a billion-dollar business.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, okay. I wanna step one is I guess we I guess we didn't prepare Angela, but we'll just have her go last because it's time for A-list of the week. What?
SPEAKER_04:So every week we do an A-list of the week where we just bring something that's like our recommendation, something we're into, like last week and the week before Alice were both Thanksgiving food. Like she really loves Thanksgiving food. I love that. Or like a TV show rec or a movie rec or just like something you're really into. Like if you happen to be into scarves, maybe you're really into infinity scarves.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Let me think about mine while you guys okay. So I finally had the holiday cream Coke Zero.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, you did? Okay.
SPEAKER_00:I will say it is my list of the week because it's very good and it's a nice, refreshing thing. It's not revolutionary, it does just taste like vanilla Coke.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00:No, it just tastes like vanilla coke.
unknown:Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00:What is happening? It's not transforming. I thought it was gonna be something like have some like holiday spices in it or something. I don't know. I just felt like it was gonna taste much more exciting. It's literally just vanilla coke, but it is very good. So that is a recommendation. You should try it. That's fantastic.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I'm gonna go off of that and give my give my list of the week because I've ordered this meal three times this week. And by the way, it's Tuesday. Ooh, uh Urbane Cafe salmon bowl.
SPEAKER_00:Ooh.
SPEAKER_04:No, I'm not kidding. It shouldn't be this good.
SPEAKER_00:Why is it?
SPEAKER_04:And it's so clean and good. It's kale, rice, edamame, sweet potatoes, and salmon. And that's it. The salmon is like barbecue glazed, and then it comes with a very light amount of uh Chipotle aioli of sorts. And it is so good and so healthy that I just keep ordering it because Urbane's right there.
SPEAKER_00:I do that all those things sound good.
SPEAKER_04:And I would like you guys to try it. Urbane Cafe. Urbane Salmon Bowl. You'll text it to McSammel. I will text it to you. They they deliver from the app, it's very cheap. We all well, I don't know, we live close to the one here. There's probably one by you.
SPEAKER_00:I don't think there is.
SPEAKER_04:Don't worry, there probably is. And that's my A-list of the week, Urbane Cafe.
SPEAKER_01:Great. I love that.
SPEAKER_04:Angela?
SPEAKER_01:I actually just drove by your neighborhood yesterday accidentally because I had to go to Amazon fresh to make returns. Yeah. And my phone took me to the one by you, and I was driving. I was like, I feel like this is further than it was waiver.
SPEAKER_04:You were trying to go to one of Magnolia?
SPEAKER_01:30 minutes. And I live in five minutes on Magnolia.
SPEAKER_04:We know that you can just take it to that one. As long as it's the same store, even if it tells, because I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_01:No, I always go there. I don't know what happened. I just started driving, and then I was like, I'm not going in the right direction.
SPEAKER_04:GPS took you there, not the return label. I understand. Correct. Okay, okay, okay. That is not my answer. Angela, that's the most me thing ever because I I would be there and be like, this one's kind of falling.
SPEAKER_01:Literally, I passed her street and I go, why am I all the way at Allison's? And I was like, That was pretty good. No, I'm in the wrong. I went to the wrong place. You drove like 20 minutes.
SPEAKER_04:No, 30. Angela, dead ass.
SPEAKER_01:It took me 30 minutes. It was traffic.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Four at 4 30 p.m. I was like, oh man.
SPEAKER_04:I was trying to go to the Whole Foods on Riverside, and I got off the five exit in Burbank before I realized I'm at the Burbank.
SPEAKER_00:I do like that Whole Foods. No, I do too.
SPEAKER_04:All right, well at least I can get some brisket. But I wanted to go to the one right by me. They have the meat bar at that one. And it is super.
SPEAKER_00:The one by me has the wine bar. Ooh. There's a literal wine bar.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, like you could get drinks there.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, there's an actual bar. They do trivia night there. Wait, is this part of the city? I was excited if you were gonna live there. No, but that's a fun fact. Because we could have gone to trivia and had wine at the house.
SPEAKER_01:I think about it all the time. We should.
SPEAKER_00:I know. Um we should put that in there.
SPEAKER_04:Now that you live 10 minutes further away.
SPEAKER_01:I know. Actually, I'm I'm really close still. I'm still close.
SPEAKER_04:No, you're in a great spot.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's just a nicer neighborhood. Okay, my A-list of the week um is a TV show on HBO called The Chair Company. Okay. Have you heard of it? No. Okay, it is extremely hilarious. Um, basically, it's centered around um the main character is pitching like this new idea for this mall, and he's like in charge, and everyone looks up to him, and his chair breaks. And the chair breaks, and he's pissed, so pissed that he wants to find out who made this chair. And the whole season revolves around him trying to find the makers of the chair, and he uncovers a conspiracy. Oh, that's a comedy. It's comedy.
SPEAKER_04:Who's the lead?
SPEAKER_01:Okay, I forget his name.
SPEAKER_04:He does um uh the show um Oh my god, is it is it the show with the guy who does like I feel like you're only here for the zipline?
SPEAKER_01:I think you should leave. I think you should leave on HBL.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. He's the zipline guy.
SPEAKER_01:Fucking funny. Tim Robinson, which one? Zipline?
SPEAKER_04:When he's like on The Bachelor and Oh my god, of course. I just like I just feel like you're just here for the zipline.
SPEAKER_01:He is only there for the zipline.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so good.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, so the whole show is like skit after skit after skit. Like it's just so funny.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, like Bell. I love like Bell.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, like Bell plays his wife.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, cute. I'm in.
SPEAKER_01:Um, it's really funny, but you have to like pay attention because it's not a it's not you just don't just put it on and walk around like you gotta watch it because it's a smart comedy. It all unfolds. It's very smart comedy, it's very outrageous. Uh chair company.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. I would have never watched that, so I wouldn't okay. Check it out, check it out.
SPEAKER_02:Heck yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, well, let's talk. I'll tell you the birthdays and things for this day that is December 15th.
SPEAKER_01:December 15th is my brother's birthday. Happy birthday, happy birthday.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, okay. Uh Lee Jong Jay, uh from Squid Games, he plays like the main character in the first season. Love. That's one of my favorite shows. Yes. He's 53. Adam Brody is 46.
SPEAKER_02:You know him from the show that you were in. Oh.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, oh nah. Okay, yeah. Maud Appetouch, 28. Okay. And then things that happened on this day. Wonka came out in twenty twenty three.
SPEAKER_04:You hated that.
SPEAKER_01:What I didn't love it.
SPEAKER_04:Sorry, I missed it. Wonka with Timothy Shalom. I don't love it.
SPEAKER_01:That was so bad. I didn't love it. Can we can we circle back to him right after this? Tim and have something to say about it. Yes.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. The Emperor's New Groove came out in two thousand. So good. The Pursuit of Happiness 2006. Cube. What Women Want, 2000. I used to watch that all the time for some reason.
SPEAKER_01:Wait, really? I was just gonna watch that.
SPEAKER_00:Have you ever seen it?
unknown:Shut up.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I haven't seen it a long time ago.
SPEAKER_00:I used to watch it all the time when I was younger. That was a weird thing I did.
SPEAKER_01:But it's so totally inappropriate. It is. And I wish all the time. You're like, wow, this is kind of sexist. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:And like he's a perv. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:But I it's good. Yeah. I'm intrigued.
SPEAKER_00:It's great. Um, Million Dollar Baby, 2004. Schindler's List, 1993, which I also watched all the time. Yes. I'm not laughing at why why? I'm not laughing at it. I'm laughing at me like watching it all the time. Like crying.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, I'm sad again.
SPEAKER_00:I don't know if I probably told this. This is really bad. It's not good. But Reagan and I went through a big period of time of watching a lot of World War II. Okay. Oh yeah. Uh back home. A lot of World War II, a lot of like Holocaust related movies. And one year we went to the Blockbuster or the Family Video when it was still around. Right. And we went to We went to rent something new, like the boy in the striped pajamas or something that we wanted to watch. And he was like, Well, you have a late fee. And we were like, It's Schindler's List.
unknown:Literally.
SPEAKER_04:You've been watching Schindler's List and you're here to rent this.
SPEAKER_00:No, literally it was. He was like, You have a late fee. And we were like, oh really? What is it? And I don't know if it was Schindler's List or if it was what's the other big I don't know. It doesn't matter. It was another Holocaust movie. And we were so embarrassed because, like, what are the subject?
SPEAKER_04:On a Friday night with like Domino's beeps.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, what? Why are why is that what we're picking to watch? We just really like to learn. And just cry? That's it's one of the saddest movies I've ever seen in my life. Yeah. Anyway. Um, Star Wars The Last Jedi 2017, Superman, 1978, and Revolutionary Road, which also was a very sad movie, 2008. That was a sad movie.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:They're all sad movies.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, what do you have to say about Timothy Chalamet? Oh, so did you guys hear about that rapper that's like getting huge and everyone thinks it's Timothy Chameley? Chalamet? No. But look at look, you should Google it. No, he he he raps like this. He's from a different country, but it's totally him.
SPEAKER_00:Wait, are you talking about um Mr. whatever? Because that is a different actor. Mr. What? Mr.
SPEAKER_01:Fantasy? No, no, no. Mr.
SPEAKER_00:Fantasy is um from uh AJ Kappa. From that one show.
SPEAKER_01:No, put put Google Timothy Shalm, whatever his Shalom is. I can't say it. Um rapper.
SPEAKER_04:Timothy Shalama isn't officially a rapper, but a massive internet theory exploded in late 25, claiming he's secretly the masked UK rapper as D kid.
SPEAKER_01:Yes. As D kid. As DKID. And look at one of his um music videos or something. Like it sounds like him too, with an accent. Okay, I'll look it up.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, we don't need to do this right now. But Mr. Fantasy is KJ Appa. I said AJ Kappa. KJ Appa from Riverdale. Oh, he has this, he's like this musical, he has this persona that he's started called Mr. Fantasy. Oh, interesting. And he's everywhere. Wow. And he's like I think he speaks in a British accent and he wears like 70s style clothing and he has this like weird like mouthpiece of teeth that he puts in. It's very strange, but it's he's kind of funny. That's not Timothy Shop.
SPEAKER_01:Interesting. Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_04:No, no, 8K D.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah, the Mr. Fantasy. No, like people know that that's okay to have it. It's a little chilly in here. I am kind of even though we're all wearing sweaters. I brought my six flag sweater. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_04:That's so weird.
SPEAKER_01:That's why.
SPEAKER_00:Nah, I. You're you're kidding. You're kidding. This is wild. Stop it. I also brought mine in case I got super cold too. Wait, what?
SPEAKER_01:You guys. And we're all wearing gray. Did you notice that?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. That's is this best friendship? I think so.
SPEAKER_01:That's amazing. Mine's covered in dog hair, but.
SPEAKER_04:Wow. Well, next time. Next time.
SPEAKER_01:Thank you all.
SPEAKER_04:Thank you.
SPEAKER_00:You know what? You want you to work well, I'm gonna thank you.
SPEAKER_04:She's gonna thank the listeners. Angela, thank you for being on the A-list with Allison and Alex. She's Allison. I'm Allison. No, Gabriel, thank you so much. We really appreciate it.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, we love having you. Love you. Thank you to listeners. Uh, make sure that you do all the things and follow Angela. Her information will be below. You can follow her if she wants you to. I don't know if she does or not. We'll see. And you can Prince lets you. And Prince says to subscribe. Love you. Love you. Bye.
SPEAKER_01:Uh perfect timing.
