Birthday Serendipity And Gifts
SPEAKER_00You want to know something so crazy.
SPEAKER_03I wonder if it's the same thing I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_00Probably not.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00This is episode 309. My birthday is March 9th.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy. What?
SPEAKER_03Is that a Monday?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, this is episode 309, comes out on 309, which is your birthday.
SPEAKER_00309.
SPEAKER_03Actually, that is wild.
SPEAKER_00That is wild.
SPEAKER_03Wow. That's well, that's lucky.
SPEAKER_00The reaction wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, but they're all screaming at home.
SPEAKER_03That is exciting. I feel like I feel like I get to be the first one to say happy birthday.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Happy birthday.
SPEAKER_00Appreciate it.
SPEAKER_03While you're here, your gift should be arriving, and I almost want to give it to you now.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03But I'm not going to.
SPEAKER_00No, thank you.
SPEAKER_03I don't think I'll be bringing it to the club either, though.
SPEAKER_00Please don't.
SPEAKER_03So, like you, I'll wait a month.
SPEAKER_00It's fine. It's so fun.
SPEAKER_03No, no, okay, okay, no. You're right.
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, I finally gave Alex's card.
SPEAKER_03It's the perfect most perfect card. It expands into like a 3D um poster of Wicked, and it sings Define Gravity. So your gift is.
SPEAKER_00Did he throw it? Oh my god, it is big. Is there a person in there?
SPEAKER_03Hang on, I better drag this and stuff.
SPEAKER_00By the way, while you're doing that, he threw that. He really threw that. Well, also while he's doing that, um, today is my birthday. I am 26. So I know I look really good for my age. Thank you guys so much for telling me that in the comments. 26. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, you got like a day over 21 day.
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much. And my first gift, actually, is that uh your sister left me this laboo boo.
SPEAKER_03Should we do an unbagging?
SPEAKER_00Unbag. I'm gonna unbag it.
SPEAKER_03So now I've learned that they give they do the little boo-boos. Wait. They do the little boo-boos in these. They didn't used to come in these like cinching bags.
SPEAKER_00No, they came in the box.
SPEAKER_03The film's in a box and then the cinch bag is new. On the inside, it used to be like a thing you just told me.
SPEAKER_00You ripped, yeah. Why do they do this now?
SPEAKER_03I think because it's easier for reselling.
SPEAKER_00That's not let's not encourage.
SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_00I don't because people are just buying them.
SPEAKER_03Here, I'll tell you what, it you're right. That's probably not why. It was great for Caitlin because she got some for her children. And as you know, she has to she has to delegate carefully with them. Oh, yeah. So she wanted to see them beforehand so she could be like, oh, this one is the she'll prefer and this one he'll prefer. Oh, oh my god. Okay, and by the way, when Stanley
The Labubu Unbagging And Stanley Drama
SPEAKER_03when Stanley saw Caitlin open them, he had he he kept going to her suitcase the whole time she was here, trying to get to them in her suitcase. He wants a laboooboo so bad.
SPEAKER_00He's freaking out. Stanley, no.
SPEAKER_03Come here, Bubba. Anyway, so she was able to see which ones and then cinch it back up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is good for her. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, go ahead. Stanley. Isn't it cute?
SPEAKER_00The ear is wet from Stanley's mouth. Oh, it is um like the bouquet um material. It is very soft and cute.
SPEAKER_03It's the macaroon series. Is that what it is? Macaron. Macaron?
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah. Do I know?
SPEAKER_03I can't tell what isn't there something in the bag?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Your dog is trying to. Stanley.
SPEAKER_03Um there should be a little tag.
SPEAKER_00No, I can go on the website later, but it is pink, so I'm gonna go strawberry or raspberry.
SPEAKER_03That's not it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Well, it's very cute. If you are if you're listening, it is like a like a dusty pink.
SPEAKER_03And now you have one of big time energy and one of macaroon.
SPEAKER_00And this is a real one because my other one apparently is fake. I'm gonna put it away because Stanley is freaking out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he wants a laboo-boo so bad, and now I think I have to get him one.
SPEAKER_00You should. They're kind of expensive to be a dog toy.
SPEAKER_03$26.
SPEAKER_00That is an expensive dog toy.
SPEAKER_03No more expensive than a big Kong.
SPEAKER_00Well, thank you, Caitlin,
Planning A Big Birthday Night Out
SPEAKER_00for my labu-boo. I will set her next to the other one. And welcome back to the A-list podcast. And Alex. I'm Allison. He's Alex. What was I gonna say?
SPEAKER_03About what?
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to the A-list podcast.
SPEAKER_03This is welcome back to the A-list Podcast. This is Allison.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know what I was gonna say. I was going to say it wrong though.
SPEAKER_03You're in a silly goofy mood today.
SPEAKER_00Silly goofy mood. I I was gonna be like, ooh, should we have a drink? But um, no, I'm saving myself for the weekend.
SPEAKER_03Save yourself for marriage. Save yourself for the weekend.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because we are going out.
SPEAKER_03We're going to a club.
SPEAKER_00We're going to the club. I am um, well, it will have passed now, but I'm having a little gathering at a club.
SPEAKER_03Rather large, actually.
SPEAKER_00Rather large, yeah, a large gathering. Because I've never done anything large for my birthday when I've been out here. It's really just been a group of close friends. You've so graciously um facilitated a lot because in the past years I have been um paralyzed by the thought of you have planning something because it's always like, who do I invite? I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. And then it ends up being like, okay, well, then I'm not gonna do anything. I'm just gonna have like the handful of people that I normally hang out with on the weekends. And now because I've been here for five years, is that right? Four years, five years?
SPEAKER_0321.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Almost five.
SPEAKER_03Almost five, because I think you moved in June, right?
SPEAKER_00No, February.
SPEAKER_03Oh, then yes. So then it's been five.
SPEAKER_00Um now I've accumulated groups of friends in other places uh other than the ones you guys normally hear about. I have gym friends, I have dodgeball friends, I have some dance friends, and then plus the friends that I you guys see me in pictures with often. And I was like, you know what? I haven't ever like thrown myself a party. I'm gonna do it. And I've rented like a kind of a seating area in a club in Hollywood. Um, and it's very like a nostalgic like millennial 1900s. 1900s,
Hangover Hedges And ZBiotics Chat
SPEAKER_00late 90s, early 2000s decorations and all that. So it's gonna be fun. I think it'll be very cute, but I know that I'm gonna probably drink too much. So I'm going to save myself for then. I'm going to order some Z Biotics. This is not a brand deal ad because that's not happening. But uh, have you ever heard of this before?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think I'm gonna order some to take.
SPEAKER_03I have had it in a little glass.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, it did work. Where did I have it? Oh, uh Chad's friend Shelly. She brought them to Cabo.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03And it was great.
SPEAKER_00Amazing. Yeah, I think because I've heard good things.
SPEAKER_03Wild.
SPEAKER_00It does?
SPEAKER_03It comes in like a crazy looking case. Like it looks like some It's pretty expensive. Yeah, it looks like some illegal drug.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03But like high class.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you can get it on Amazon, so it's like it's okay. But it is like $30 for like six of them or something. It's kind of wild. I don't know. So that is what's happening. Oh, then um.
SPEAKER_03Oh, do you want your your stick? I'm sorry. My stick? Can't you hold the microphone on it?
SPEAKER_00Oh, no, it's okay.
SPEAKER_03Do you want me to get it?
SPEAKER_00No, it's okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Um, Sunday, Josh and I are going to the Huntington Gardens, which you just went to, so I would like to hear about it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yes. So, right now?
unknownSure.
SPEAKER_03Great. Um, so sister was here over the weekend. She had a great time. It was so funny. She got to do a little bit of everything. No, Stanley. Stanley really wants this laboo.
Huntington Gardens Plans And Tips
SPEAKER_03Uh like she got in super, super late Wednesday. Like, ridiculously late. And then Thursday, thankfully, was a pretty chill work day remote, so like we still got to do some stuff. Went and looked at a house by Allison, which the house was great, but the the location just isn't everything that we wanted it to be. So the search continues. Um, and I got to we went to the mall, she got her laboo-boos, and then we just had kind of a chill day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then that night nothing happened. Friday, I got confused, and then Friday, she got to come to work with me for the day. Oh, yeah, and there happened to be a puppy interview happening. Not my sh my shoot wasn't puppy interview, so she got to be on set and see an actual like BuzzFeed puppy interview. She got to hold one of the puppies, and it ended up being the same litter that we had used one week prior from the same litter from the same shelter for the Zach Braff interview. And Caitlin is a big Scrubs fan and a big fan of Zach Braff. And she had said, like, oh, I saw the puppy interview, and it was those same dogs. So she got to get a photo with the same dog that he was holding in one of the dogs he was holding in the interview. So she had like a really fun experience at work. And then we went to met up for dinner with uh boyfriend at Casa Vega, which in Sherman Oaks haven't ever been there.
SPEAKER_00Oh, really?
SPEAKER_03Never been.
SPEAKER_00It's pretty famous, it's very famous.
SPEAKER_03And like he was, and it's one of his favorite places. I like it.
SPEAKER_00Josh does not like it.
SPEAKER_03I loved it. Yeah, those chips were the best. So if you ever want to go.
SPEAKER_00If you ever want to go, let me know.
SPEAKER_03So we ordered a little of everything, and not a it was all delicious. The only thing I love all Mexican food really, but I don't like the way traditional Mexican queso is. It's just it I feel like I choke on it.
SPEAKER_00It is, it is um yes.
SPEAKER_03But they do tableside walk there, and that's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I our waiter ended up being one of my old friends that I haven't seen in since like maybe 2019. Okay. Her boyfriend, and he recognized he was checking our IDs for the margaritas, and he like really looked at mine for a second, and then nothing happened. We finished our first drinks and another round came, which we didn't order. He was like, This is from me, and I'm not gonna say her name, but my friend. And I was like, he was like, Yeah, I we've never met, but she's told me a lot about you. I was like, Did you not recognize? No, but she's told me a lot about you, and but the name of who he was talking about still wasn't registered with me. So I was just like, Oh my god, thank you. So it was great. And he brought us free churro dessert, and the churros were anyway. Great restaurant. And then Saturday we did brunch in Pasadena, which you were there for. And what did you think of that place?
SPEAKER_00I thought it was great. It was good, right? Yeah, a little pricey for drinks, but like the food was that's I mean, I know you know it's expected anywhere, really.
SPEAKER_03The vibes were really cute. Your dress was very cute.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. The food was
Weekend Recap: Work, Puppies, And Casa Vega
SPEAKER_00delicious.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I could have honestly like I would have eaten a whole one of those cinnamon rolls.
SPEAKER_00That was the pastry platter was everything you said it would be.
SPEAKER_03I'm so glad it lived up because truly that would have been embarrassing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I will the food a little bit just like was under-seasoned, I would say.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right.
SPEAKER_00But it was good. Like I got like a crab cake, eggs benedict because I'm always gonna get eggs benedict.
SPEAKER_03Because listen, she's always gonna do that.
SPEAKER_00I'm always gonna do that. And it just needed like a good amount of salt and pepper, you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So um you went to the gardens. So then we go to the Huntington Gardens, which Allison was invited to. You guys don't think I didn't invite her, but since she is going.
SPEAKER_00I had already purchased tickets for the day after my birthday, like way prior to this.
SPEAKER_03The day after your birthday.
SPEAKER_00Sorry, the day after my party.
SPEAKER_03She's trying to confuse everyone.
SPEAKER_00Dang it, Stanley was laying down really cute, and then he moved.
SPEAKER_03For what time?
SPEAKER_00So our so we're having brunch there. We're getting high tea.
SPEAKER_03We looked at I'd never seen the tea room, so I got to see that. It's so cute.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's actually really hard to get reservations there unless it's like so. That's why I got reservations like two months ago. Because I've wanted to go. So our tea reservation is at noon, and then our garden reservation is at one, so we'll probably go in a little bit after. I don't know if we'll be like an hour and a half at the tea room or just like an hour. I don't know. But so, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm gonna sneeze one second.
SPEAKER_00Bless you. Bless you.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. It's funny because like you could have come with us and seen like it's so massive. Yeah, we didn't even get through a quarter of it after three hours.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So it's like you I get it. It's gonna be fun for you because he's never been either, right?
SPEAKER_00I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03It'll be really cute.
SPEAKER_00I have been once. Oh, you have been before, yeah. But probably like the first year I lived here. Okay. So I remember Did you go with Chloe and Haley? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I remember a couple things.
SPEAKER_03I don't remember everything, but I was a little bummed the rose garden is like that. It was breathtaking. When I took my mom, I was like, I can't believe this. There's not a single rose in bloom. So that's a little bit of a bummer. But there is a bonsai tree sale going on there, so you can like buy them, and they were so really cool.
SPEAKER_00The Japanese garden, it was my favorite when I went before, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then the Chinese garden, in case you guys want to break or need a drink or something, there's a little cafe in there now.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03And so we got like waters and tea. Um no, I had we had a great time. It was really cute, and it's like exactly some like it's the perfect thing to take your Midwest family member to because it's everyone appreciates it, but like it's a lot of walking though, and people in the Midwest though, really like we love woods, nature, flowers. Yeah, I don't know. And so it just it was perfect, and then all the birds, because Caitlin loves birds.
SPEAKER_00I I know not looking forward to that, but lots of lots of fun birds.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was great.
SPEAKER_00I yeah, I'm looking forward to it just because it is like a relaxing thing, even though it's walking, like it is a relaxing thing to do after a night of yes.
SPEAKER_03That's all I was gonna say. Is like, are you worried you're not gonna make it?
SPEAKER_00No, I'll make it.
SPEAKER_03And then I gave you do you remember the tip that I told you at the beach that I'm not gonna share with the general public?
SPEAKER_00Yes. I do remember that.
SPEAKER_03Just get a little bit of cash. Okay, now it sounds like we're greasing the palms of a dealer or something. I gave her a little tip to parking.
SPEAKER_00Um, I think I like surmised that from your guys' text messaging. So I think I would have asked about it, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's a good it's just a little good good to know.
SPEAKER_00I am excited because I was when you guys I was seeing your the text thread of you guys having a hard time parking.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, oh no. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then Sunday we saw you again at the beach for our friend Emily's birthday. Perfect beach night. Oh my god, it was gorgeous. Yeah, there wasn't a breeze to be had, except that of the natural water.
SPEAKER_00What am I talking like this for? Um, yes, it was a gorgeous evening. I really wanted to play volleyball, so I ordered a volleyball on Postmates.
SPEAKER_03Which is the a boss move.
SPEAKER_00It it only took like 20 minutes, and it was like $11. Like it was not that expensive.
SPEAKER_03No, that is a good deal, but I'm still annoyed that there was one there the whole time.
SPEAKER_00There wasn't one there the whole time. It was that person must live nearby.
SPEAKER_03Oh it was his uh parents.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah. Because when we were down there, I was like, Oh, are we gonna play volleyball? And um Emily was like, We don't there's no ball, or we forgot the ball or something like that. I don't know. And she was like, but someone might have one up at the house, but it wasn't for sure. And I was like, Well, I don't have a volleyball anyway to just have because now I have now I have a I have my softball glove in my trunk. Yeah now I have a basketball just in case there's a pickup game that happens.
Brunch Wins And Misses
SPEAKER_00I actually really got that because Josh and I had a three-point competition. I lost, unfortunately. Well, it started out as a free throw competition, I think.
SPEAKER_03As they do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I lost. I'm pretty rusty on shooting. Well, practice and then volleyball now. Now a volleyball. Because when you go to the beach, it is just nice to have a volleyball.
SPEAKER_03I concur. And that's the exact kind of attitude I like about the reason I stepped out so fast is because I when Brian and Emily get into a game, you either you have to know you're about to play a game.
SPEAKER_00We did play a game, but um I no. I will say that I I impressed my moves. I haven't played You impressed your moves? I impressed with my moves. Yeah, I bet you did. I impressed my team was Emily Bryan and Josh, and I I Josh was pretty impressed by me.
SPEAKER_02Damn.
SPEAKER_00So thank goodness. I'm just kidding. But I used to play both sand and indoor volleyball, like on a rec league when I lived in Indianapolis.
SPEAKER_03Shocker.
SPEAKER_00But I haven't played since then.
SPEAKER_03Oh. And did it come back to like riding a bike?
SPEAKER_00Yes, although I am I moved slower in the sand than I used to.
SPEAKER_03I would like doesn't everyone move slower in the sand?
SPEAKER_00Yes, even so, yeah. Yeah, just because like my legs are not used to it.
SPEAKER_03Since you lived in Indianapolis, so it's been like what, seven years? Six years?
SPEAKER_00Six, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Damn.
SPEAKER_00But I had a good time and now I have a volleyball.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah. Your eye makeup's really pretty. I like the shimmer.
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much. I had a hiccup right when you said that.
SPEAKER_03It shocked you. And I'm saying it on the pod now so that I hold myself accountable. Tomorrow I'm staying at Boyfriends. We're going over schedules, and it is on our agenda to pick a day to go to California Adventure so that we can once and for all participate in one of these GD food festivals.
SPEAKER_00I know. Like, and it's um I saw a thing, I didn't save it, how much the passes were. You can either get a four-item pass or an eight-item pass. So if we are we just all split it. The four of us going, we can get one pass and we each can get two things or just like try a bunch of stuff together. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I love this item. But we so he did too, so
Garden Highlights, Tea Room, And Bonsai Sale
SPEAKER_03like he's down. We're gonna figure it out.
SPEAKER_00So since we've had these passes, the food and wine festival has been happening yearly at Disneyland. Yes. And we've been there before and we've and we've gotten like one thing or whatever. Yeah. But we are always like, oh, we should get the pass.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00And then we can, you know, like that.
SPEAKER_03We can all participate and try a bunch of different things.
SPEAKER_00And last year I didn't even get to go during the Food and Wine Festival at all, I don't think.
SPEAKER_03So this will be good.
SPEAKER_00I am excited. I'm excited. Stanley. Stanley keeps looking so cute, and I want to take a picture of him, and then he moves.
SPEAKER_03And then the new magnet is I showed I sent you a photo, right?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I have not gotten mine yet.
SPEAKER_03I just got it yesterday. And I when did you renew? A week before you. Oh, okay. Um it is, I'll show it to you. They are they like pass price goes up, but the magnet quality goes down. It is like paper thin.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't hold anything up.
SPEAKER_03No, look at it. Do you can see it at the top of my board bent? But you know, I'm gonna add to the collection.
SPEAKER_00Well, I've only had one.
SPEAKER_03It's the same one every year, but you do get new ones as you renew because boyfriend just got his and it's the first magnet we got.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I didn't realize it went by your ear. Well, guess what? I don't have I've had this past for how many years? Four?
SPEAKER_03Yes, and you have two?
SPEAKER_00No, I have one.
SPEAKER_03Just last year's for some reason for two years.
SPEAKER_00It's okay. I know.
SPEAKER_03No, it seems you're upset.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just upset that I didn't get them at all. Like, what happened?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But if you want a photo of them, no, it's fine. Anyway, I thought it was just whatever the magnet of the year was, even if that's the year you joined.
SPEAKER_00But it turns out it's by your year that you're in. All right. Well, I am excited to go during the food and wine festival and I'll vlog probably.
SPEAKER_03And I'll vlog too. So if there's two vlogs going on, maybe it's a lot of things. Please, I would love for you to vlog. Three vlogs going on.
SPEAKER_00I would love for you to vlog.
SPEAKER_03Okay, great.
SPEAKER_00Why are you being sassy about it?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so um, the big thing we need to talk about in terms of pulp culture is the traders finale. Did you watch it?
SPEAKER_03Uh no, because I cannot believe that's insane. I think I was like, whatever, I'm gonna get spoiled, so I looked it up and it's what did I say? Week two. Rob is gonna win the whole thing because he has pretty boy privilege. And what happened? Rob won the whole thing with his pretty boy privilege. I'm not saying he didn't play a good game, yeah, but it wasn't a thrilling season for me because it was everything that I expected to happen would happen. And I just ended up being very disappointed in some players, like Natalie. Come on, girl.
SPEAKER_00What and what at what point were you disappointed in her?
SPEAKER_03I just think that she there was a moment during her last round table before she was out where you could see that she just gave up. She was just like, I'm not gonna win this.
SPEAKER_00I do think though that the reason she gave up is because we don't see that the whole round table, they go for I think they go sometimes go for like a couple hours.
SPEAKER_01Fair.
SPEAKER_00And I think that she said, because I've seen a couple interviews, that she said she could really tell at one point that she was not changing Tara's mind. Yeah. And because there was something had happened that gave Tara some weariness, wariness on Natalie that. She just wasn't getting anywhere anymore. And she was like, so whatever happened between the time they talked in the car to the round table, Tara had just made up her mind. Well, she had just had some more doubt put on her about Natalie. So then by the time they got into the round table, Natalie was like she couldn't. There was no convincing 100% that she could trust her.
Beach Night, Postmates Volleyball, And Games
SPEAKER_00So that at one point she was just like, it's very clear that you guys are not gonna change your mind. So what can I do?
SPEAKER_03Fair. I think that the disappointing thing as a viewer, and listen, I know I'm not in this game. Like I understand that it's there's so much more going on, and it's easy as the viewer to be like, so I'm prefacing all this with that. But the every time they went after a faithful that meant mentioned Rob, I was like, after after like the third, like the third time hearing that, and then they were wrong two times in a row, I'm like maybe actually question Rob. Like that that was what I couldn't understand. Like you're you should be questioning everyone. But they were like, they've never mentioned Rob's name before. That's weird.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think the biggest thing they overlooked, which was so stupid, was Candace.
SPEAKER_03100%. I that was yeah, that's actually infuriating. It's like guys, she was a traitor with doing her last stitch thing. Who did this in another season? Phaedra. Phaedra did this as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And they didn't catch it.
SPEAKER_00Afterwards, like at the uh reunion and everything, they they were all like, yeah, like in hindsight, that was a very bold thing that we should have looked at. But I think because he was so good at diffusing the situation and you know, in the everyday talking, he just was so convincing to them on top of just being like super cute and charismatic that they just believed everything he said.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but still like it's like even if you watch that clip too, right? It's like when she turns the accused to accuse him, you can see that she's like mad, shocked, yeah. So that again, that's like as a as someone else, wouldn't you be like that was and then she just put his name on there?
SPEAKER_00Well, now in the future, there's literally no No one can get away with unless you have never seen a one moment of the show. If that happens again in the future, like it's that person's has to be toast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But what was I gonna say? I feel like in other It's not shocking to me that he had the success he did because a lot of other the prototype of the cute guy that's charismatic is a reality TV competition show trope.
SPEAKER_03Correct.
SPEAKER_00Boston Rob was so cute back in the day. He still is cute, like whatever. He's just a dad now. But like he was so cute back then and he had this very commanding swag about him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, very rob like Dan from Big Brother.
SPEAKER_00Yes, same thing. So it is a trope if you are assertive, charismatic, cute, like that is a way and a path to win.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Now, our girl Moira, God love her and bless her soul. She had such an opportunity to be just like the baddest be around. And at the last, obviously it was probably editing too at the very the last round table, where okay, so I guess we should rewind just for the listeners. If you haven't, if you didn't watch the show, this is basically how the very end of the show went.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So they have a final round table where they vote out one more person. That person does not reveal whether they are a trader or a faithful. Then they're you come down to four people and they go to the like fire ceremony where they basically have to decide whether they want to end the game, and that means they think that they've gotten all the traders out and they're gonna end the game and the faithfuls are gonna win.
SPEAKER_03And split the money.
SPEAKER_00And split the money. So if they want to do that, the last four, the last four, yeah, they throw a green like color bomb into the fire, and that means we're done. We believe that everyone here is a faithful. If you think that they're still a traitor and you want to have another banishment, you throw red into the fire, and then they go around again and they have a little bit of a conversation, but not much, and then they vote one more time, vote again on banishing someone. So the last four was Rob, Moira, Eric, and Tara. And they vote out Tara.
SPEAKER_03And so then there's two traitors.
SPEAKER_00There's two traitors and a faithful then. And Rob then again, you don't get to, it's not revealed to them whether Tara is a faithful or a traitor. So she leaves, then they go around one more time, and you it's really like sad for Eric too, because he believes that Rob is his ally and friend, which I don't know why he would think that, because Rob, he knows because he's a traitor, and he knows that Rob turned on the other two traitors that were in the game early. So they go around again. Moira says, I think Eric is a traitor. I want to vote for him. Eric goes,
Disneyland Food & Wine Strategy
SPEAKER_00I think Rob, wait, no, I think who does he vote for?
SPEAKER_03I didn't watch.
SPEAKER_00I think he votes for Rob.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00He's he voted for it to end, obviously, because he's a traitor, he wants it to end. But then because she voted to vote again, he has to vote.
SPEAKER_03Moira's the one that voted to vote again?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Got it. He has to vote again, so he votes for Rob. And then they reveal that Rob also voted to do another banishment. So in that moment, Eric's eyes, you can see, he knows that he's going.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because Rob, why would why would Rob well he could, I've guessed have banished Moira and then they would have been at the end. Right. But like he knows it's obviously more advantageous for him to vote out Eric and then take all the money for himself. Because at that point, the traders have won. It's just whether they're splitting the money or whether not. Yeah. So Eric gets voted out. And then, oh, and Rob says in his explanation for voting Eric out, he goes, Well, I made a pinky promise and I'm not gonna break it to Moira. So I have to vote for you, Eric. And votes him out, and then now it's down to Moira and Rob. And she's done and the game is done, and it's then Rob has to reveal whether he's they've revealed to each other whether they're faithfuls or traitors. Moira's like, duh, I'm a faithful.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then she thinks, she's like so happy, she thinks we've won the game together, blah, blah, blah. She's like looking at him, smile on her face, and he goes, I'm a traitor. And her face just falls because the editing of that last banishment, where it's she has to choose between or whether she has to choose whether to end the game or not. She says it's Eric. And Eric goes, before they've written down their like name, who they're gonna vote out, they have their little talk, and Eric's like, I don't think you shouldn't be looking at me as like it's not like whatever. He's basically being like, Don't vote for me. You have like the opportunity here to like do something. And she's just so dead set on Rob is she believes that he is a faithful, and so then her face just falls, and she's like, obviously, is like, I have been lied to and duped. And she's just like, I can't believe you would do this. She's like yelling at him. She's like, How are you ever gonna have a girlfriend after this?
SPEAKER_02Oh, she's mad.
SPEAKER_00She was mad. But then she turns actually, or she turns it around really fast, and she's like, you know what? Good job. Like, you got me. Yeah, like you played a good game, which I actually really like because um, I don't like bitter losers. Like in the moment, you can be like, Oh, I'm so sad I lost that amount of money. Like that would have been life-changing. Yeah, yeah. I can't like you turned on me. Like you can be salty for a second, but there has to come a time where then you're like, Yeah, this was a game. Like, this is if I take a step back out, this is me playing Monopoly with my family, or this is me playing whatever, and you have to just be like, Yeah, there was money on the line,
Magnets, Passes, And Park Logistics
SPEAKER_00but it is also literally a game. Right. So I don't know, it was very dramatic, and it would have been really cool if Moira had like a aha moment and was like, No, it's you, and then she she still would have lost, but it would have been a little bit vindicating for her to just at the last minute get it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because it was just funny because Tara and Johnny at the previous banishment were like, We know it's Rob and Eric. And it's like, okay, there's only five people left, and two of you are you, right? So who else can it be? Yeah. They were like so like, we figured it out, you guys. And it's like, okay, well, you had a lot of time before this that you didn't figure it out. And now that there's only three other people besides the two of you, now you've gotten it.
SPEAKER_03Congratulations.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I can't be mad at him. I think it's interesting, like, I think it's interesting and exciting when the traders win. I love Sari did the same thing.
SPEAKER_02No, you're right.
SPEAKER_00And it was fierce. It was, you're right. But it was just like more exciting because she's a woman and like we like like her more from her previous stuff. But you guys, I can't get over it. This show is the best show.
SPEAKER_03It's so good. It's the best reality TV show.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_00Like, I love it so much.
SPEAKER_03It's great. Incredible. This season, not my favorite, but I still did enjoy it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, season one is incredible.
SPEAKER_03I even like season two.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I did like so. Season two was when CT and Trichelle won. Correct. Yeah. And they're faithful, but I like them. I liked CT. So like I was happy. But I do think it's fun because the traders like are grinding so hard the whole season. And it's like they're never you can't relax if you're a trader at all. It's like when you're, I don't know, in a place of power or something, or if you're like on the block in Big Brother, and it's like you have for a week, you have to, you cannot sleep. You have to be in every conversation, you have to be grinding the whole time. And it's like a hard I know it's hard to be a faithful because you can't trust anyone, and I think it's kind of a mind warp in that situation. But I don't know, I think it is fun. The villain, uh being a villain is fun.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yeah, I do agree.
SPEAKER_00Great. Man of many words.
SPEAKER_03I think they'd have to make me a traitor because as a faithful, I think I'd figure out the traitors really
The Traitors Finale Breakdown
SPEAKER_03fast.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It is hard when they're casting, like now, they kind of have to keep evolving the game because normies. Yeah. But the normies have seen everything too, which is like why Big Brother is always changing, also, because you can start to game the game in a way that is like less exciting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because it's like now I know how all these things work, I know what to look for. So they do kind of have to keep evolving it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because people are just gonna be like, okay, I know it's you. And I guess it it's how you play it.
SPEAKER_03But yeah. Well Congratulations, Rob.
SPEAKER_00Congratulations, Rob.
SPEAKER_03I'm so sorry to Lisa who got roofied at the after party.
SPEAKER_00Well, it was at the Abbey.
SPEAKER_03I know.
SPEAKER_00Which is crazy.
SPEAKER_03Hey, everyone was it open to the public?
SPEAKER_00It cannot have been open to the public.
SPEAKER_03No, remember they've speculated that the bartenders and staff are in this. I was trying to explain to my sister because we were talking about this at Buzzfeed on Friday.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And everyone was like one of my one of my friends has been roofied there. And I know of three people that have.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And she was trying, she was like, but and I tried to explain to her like the layout of this place is wild. There's so many nooks and crannies, there's so many levels, and it's filled with people. So it's just like at any moment, even if you're holding your drink, you could never see anyone walk right by you. It's just yeah, it's vast and weird and the and dark, and there's a fireplace randomly. So like it's just a wild place, and yeah. Unfortunately, that shite happens.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of crazy that there's been so many reports of it. Like, how are they not being shut down by like the health department or something? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03And then Lisa Renna, didn't she say like that they found fentanyl in her system? Scary.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's awful.
SPEAKER_00It is. I don't prefer to be there. I don't mind like a Sunday.
SPEAKER_03Why would you be around the corner at Roosterfish? Would you be at the Abbey?
SPEAKER_00For nighttime for sure. Never at the Abbey for nighttime. I don't, I like the brunch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the brunch is.
SPEAKER_00Because it's a different vibe. Like it's actual seating and like you're not. It's not like that there at that time. So I can handle a brunch there. Okay, well, the actor's awards happened. I didn't watch duh. I'm just over awards, I think.
SPEAKER_03I didn't watch either. I will be watching the Oscars probably.
SPEAKER_00But I I thought we could go through some, you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we should because Catherine O'Hara won an award in posthumously. Yes, and Seth Rogan gave a really good, like the speech was so good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I teared up. Um, she won for let me get the best lead actress in a comedy series.
SPEAKER_03Stanley O'Gear. Stanley Please.
SPEAKER_00No. Yeah, best actress in a comedy. It was against Katherine Hahn, also from the studio, Jenna Ortega, Wednesday, Gene Smart, Hacks, and Kristen Wig, Palm Royale. And she won. And um, yeah, Seth had a nice speech. It wasn't like self-serving or anything. Like it was actually like very appropriate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they uh panned in the audience to Jenna, and she was crying because obviously she worked with her in um Beetlejuice. Uh, but going through some other awards, um, Sinners won the most, I think. Oh yeah. So they won for Best Ensemble Cast, and Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor, which was exciting. I think it's his first best actor in anything. He was very um excited and taken aback, it seemed. And of course, as one of the only two movies that I've seen.
SPEAKER_03You were of course very excited to hear.
SPEAKER_00I was excited, and he's, you know, cute. So um that he is. Best actress was Jesse Buckley in Hamnet. Best supporting actor is Sean Penn in one battle after another. And if you watch this, you're the character that Sean Penn created in that movie. Oh yeah. Is so specific down to the way he walks. It's like we were what we were can I if I say it's like one more time, I'm gonna lose it on myself. But he there was one point when we were watching that we were like, have you noticed the way he's walking? And Josh was like, Yeah, that is a big character choice that he it's just to keep it up the whole time. Yes. And I I don't want to spoil it because it's just so his character is so wild. Yeah, don't spoil it. But he oh, and they also, I meant to say this last time. He they definitely like CGI's making him look younger or whatever it's called. I don't know if it's AI, CGI, how they're making people look younger. At the beginning, when he popped up, we were like, no way. Really?
SPEAKER_03He looks was it like a back in time or something?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're saying like whatever AI filtering they're doing to So yeah, so there is a time jump in the movie, which I guess is why they did it.
SPEAKER_00Like the time at the beginning, I think is just like regular time. Okay, and then it is like 15 years later or something. So then he looks like he looks now. Got it. But it was crazy how seamless and real it was. But we were like, he does not look like that right now. So immediately we were like, dang, they they did something.
SPEAKER_01Oof.
SPEAKER_00But um best drama series for television was The Pit, which I might get back into. But we watched like the first episode when it came out, and then we just kind of like didn't.
SPEAKER_03Do you like Noah Riley?
SPEAKER_00I am indifferent. Like I wasn't a big he was on ER. Is that what he was on?
SPEAKER_03Was he? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh I think it was ER.
SPEAKER_03Oh, is this a spin-off?
SPEAKER_00Um kind of. Did I say tell you this, or maybe I told him?
SPEAKER_03Um, Noah?
SPEAKER_00No, Josh. Um, so the pit the pit was created, this is allegedly what I heard, that they wanted to do a sort of spin-off from ER. I and I think maybe the guy who was also in ER's past is not alive.
SPEAKER_03Or maybe the person who there's a character from ER that dies of like brain cancer or something.
SPEAKER_00Let me just look. And maybe the creator of it. Okay. Something like that. But they were there was like the family of this person that is no longer alive and Noah. They were all like creating this show together to do as a spinoff of ER. And then in the 11th hour, I don't know if it got denied, like the pilot got denied or something like that. And then very quickly, like a week later, a new pilot got greenlit, which is now the pit. And so I think the family of that person is like really mad at Noah because it's like either he was kind of going behind their back and had like something in the chamber in case it didn't work out with him that he kind of created himself, but it was kind of on the back of what they had already been creating.
SPEAKER_03Oh shoot.
SPEAKER_00That is of the alleged like footnotes of whoever I heard talking about this in another podcast, but I do believe it is kind of a spin-off. Okay. Yeah. But he won and everyone loves it. So I there's no reason for me not to watch it other than there's other things, you know. Um, the studio won for best comedy. I said that. Best drama, that was that best actor in a limited series went to that kid, Owen Cooper, for adolescence. Which it is like, I think pretty much everyone thinks he's gonna win the Oscar too, which that is wild that he is so young. Yeah, Michelle Williams won for Best Actress in a limited series for Dying for Sex. And the best stunt ensemble was The Last of Us, which I never finished.
SPEAKER_03Neither did I, because after that episode, I was like, why?
SPEAKER_00Which episode? Oh, the one I think I don't think I got to it, possibly. So anyway, that was that. I saw a headline. I don't have the link just because I thought we could talk about it as our in our own um feelings. Yeah, is I saw something about like doom scrolling, scrolling on social media, probably mostly TikTok, but I think Instagram is probably the same, is linked to increased anxiety. And I know from my experience, I think the the article was talking more about because it's like lowering our attention spans and things like that. But for me, the anxiety comes from the imminent doom and dread of the world.
SPEAKER_01I agree.
SPEAKER_00Because when we were younger, we didn't social media didn't wasn't a source of news for one. And we were explicitly told in school and from our elders not to look in those places for news. Yeah, and now it's like if it is on TikTok, it is real, correct. And I I get increased anxiety from the Sheer amount of bad news and bad things going on in the world. Yes. Plus the fact I don't know what to believe. I don't know what is real. I don't know what is someone's opinion. Because there's also so many journalists now that are self-proclaimed journalists.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00That I don't know. Did you do you work for a news, like a real news outlet?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Are you just a person with an opinion and like nothing to substantiate it? You're just saying things. And that is where I get anxiety because it's
Why Charisma Wins And Future Meta
SPEAKER_00like, oh my God, I can't with that.
SPEAKER_03I'm not even hearing it by the way.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Because I'm looking and I'm like, scroll, bombing in Iran. Scroll. President did something. Scroll. Shooting kids killed in a school shooting. Scroll. Like all of those things. And then I'm seeing every news outlet is so biased. And it's like, what, which one is the truth? Yeah. And is there is there truth at all? And I just have to decide what I believe. And I find that to be immense anxiety. So what is your experience? Do you feel feel the same way as me, or do you also feel it from the attention span?
SPEAKER_03No, it's I don't think it's an attention span at all. It's like I'm very much like I've had to put my own boundaries up. Like I don't go on TikTok after 8 p.m. unless I'm looking at a post that I've put up or something, but I don't scroll after 8 p.m. Okay. Specifically TikTok, because Instagram, my algorithm is like really not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, mine's a lot of just recipes and just like nature's Gatorade. Salt water? Um it's like people who make their own like um electrolyte drinks, and it's I think the base is usually coconut water because that naturally has a lot of electrolytes. And then they do add a little salt in, but then it's fruit muddled fruit and like yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um because I am yeah, I get anxiety from the content because I am trying to not uh be an avoidant to those things because I think it's important to be like try to have some semblance of understanding what's going on and observe but not absorb. But I there is always a point in the scroll where I am feeling it. So then I'm like, that's when I gotta stop. But it's not from scrolling, it's from the content.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I do think that's what they meant. Oh just in terms of what what you're seeing as you're scrolling.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because it is very jarring to go from like war, nuclear war, terrorist attack, shooting, and then punch the monkey war. And it's like Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and and things are what is imminent right now? Like they're trying to get a bill passed that takes away all of the women's rights.
SPEAKER_03Correct.
SPEAKER_00Is that is that real, or is that someone just said it once, like, I want to write a bill, and it's not it's not a real thing that's already being voted on or anything like that. I think those things, yeah. What is it? What is an imminent thing that I need to be worried about? This doomsday clock, has it is it over? Did it it did it go to zero?
SPEAKER_03No, but it's they did move it up.
SPEAKER_00What does that mean though? Because isn't it like two seconds?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's close. Let me look. But it doesn't change.
SPEAKER_00But what does that mean?
SPEAKER_03That doom is imminent.
SPEAKER_0085 seconds to midnight. That is a name of a band, for one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_00As of January 27, 2026, the doomsday clock is set at 85 seconds to midnight. The closest it has ever been to global global catastrophe in history. Okay, so tonight is the end of the world. I don't know, like what does that mean?
Safety At Bars And Roofie Concerns
SPEAKER_03Seconds, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think it's theoretical.
SPEAKER_03Like we're already committee, like adjusts the clock and they have a huge press conference when they move it up.
SPEAKER_00Do we need it? I don't think we need it. If the world is gonna end atomically, is that the word?
SPEAKER_03Nuclear.
SPEAKER_00Well, that would be like war, right?
SPEAKER_03I'm saying, like, if no, nuclear would be the end of civilization as we know it.
SPEAKER_00Right. Oh, sure. So if that's gonna happen, let us let it just happen.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was the podcast I was listening to when you got here that I'm gonna finish when you leave because it's fascinating, was talking about nuclear war specifically and really what happens if that happens. We have about 26 minutes.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03And by the way, you can't escape it.
SPEAKER_00So it's just like hug whoever you're around.
SPEAKER_03If you have time. And they say that the ones that survive will envy the dead. Great.
SPEAKER_00So just speaking of the new season of paradise has come out, and I am excited.
SPEAKER_03I it's there's three episodes out. Have you did you watch? Yeah, the whole first season.
SPEAKER_00When did you watch?
SPEAKER_03While you were watching, we talked about it regularly.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, I haven't watched yet, so sorry.
SPEAKER_03I haven't watched the new season yet.
SPEAKER_00Okay, good, great.
SPEAKER_03Is that what you meant?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03I'm so sorry. I watched, I have seen the whole first season.
SPEAKER_00Same.
SPEAKER_03So we're in the same place right now. We both have not. I just learned today that it's three episodes that are out, not just one.
SPEAKER_00For sure. So we I haven't started it yet, but yes. I'm excited about that. But yeah, what I'm saying is I don't need to know.
SPEAKER_03I don't need a right because what could we do about it?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, I don't need it as what am I trying to say? I don't need a clock counting down telling me that the end of the world is happening. I want I would rather just enjoy my time, love my people, have a good time while I'm here. And if it happens and it takes us all out, like at least I will have had a good time while I was living.
SPEAKER_03It's not like you're missing out on anything or anyone is gonna be missing you because we're all going.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I understand climate change, like all those things are a part of it, and we shouldn't just be out here like partying and living our lives and not trying to be better at living in the world and taking that part seriously. But if it's just nuclear war or it's the sun is gonna collide and kill us, or the earth is so hot it's gonna blow up, don't tell me. Yeah, just surprise me.
SPEAKER_03I agree.
SPEAKER_00Don't need it. I would rather not be living in pending doom like the rest of our days. It's really upsetting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, what do you think about Tom Cruise?
Awards Night Highlights And Standouts
SPEAKER_00Okay, this is a real conversation that I just need to know your thoughts. Okay. The Josh is so confused by my indifference on Tom Cruise. Okay. And I want to know, is he is is Tom for the male gaze? Or is he is he actually like cute? And I don't know. I don't care about him. I've never cared. Do not care about Mission Impossible. Jerry Maguire, when I saw it, was cute, and like, but then other rom-coms eclipsed that. Okay. I've never looked at him as like a top celebrity, like crush person. And Josh is very confused by that. He's like, there's no way. Like he is the guy. Like he's the guy.
SPEAKER_03I disagree wholeheartedly.
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, no, no. I would rather I would not pick, I would pick 20 people over him.
SPEAKER_03Same. I like, I think he's a great actor, and I have two of his movies are like tops for me War of the Worlds and uh Minority Report.
SPEAKER_00But oh my god, Minority Report is good.
SPEAKER_03But I don't, I'm not attracted to him. I never have been. He's never been one that I'm like, wow, Tom Cruise. I think because I can always tell that he is really short.
SPEAKER_00Well, you're really tall, so that's different. I do not care.
SPEAKER_03But like I would argue with him, with Josh, and say, I feel as though Brad Pitt far outshines as like someone to be like, it's Brad Pitt, are you kidding me? That makes sense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Brad Pitt could do whatever he wanted to me.
SPEAKER_00Now it I have to look at them in their prime, I guess, because now he's could still get it. Really? I don't know. I don't think I care. Bradley Cooper used to be my number one. Like in college age, I had like in my um friend group, we had our top ten all and we would always be like, oh, this person, this person like moved up in my top 10 or something. We would just like chat about it. And Bradley Cooper was always number one for me. Now could not imagine that. And I don't even know who my number one is now because I don't really like care that much or think about it like that. But definitely not. Leonardo now could care less, mainly because I know, like now I know too much about him. But 2000s, Leo.
SPEAKER_03Could get it.
SPEAKER_00Number one.
SPEAKER_03Could get it.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know. Tom is not.
SPEAKER_03He doesn't do it for me.
SPEAKER_00Never has, never will. Oh my goodness. Okay. Do you have an A-list of the week?
SPEAKER_03I sure do. And it's a podcast shout-out. We've talked about it a lot. I don't think I've ever officially said it's my it's my A-list, but the So True Podcast, the So True Podcast, which is Caleb Heron.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's just such a good conversational podcast.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's great.
SPEAKER_03And I had I I like go through batches with him where I'll like listen, I'll binge and then take a few weeks off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Binge. So I just did that the other day as I was getting ready for my sister to visit. And it's just like he's just so funny and so good at interviewing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. He's got the perfect cadence. He's got the jokes. He can turn serious really fast. He is like has a crazy upbringing that really shaped him.
SPEAKER_03That like gives him a humble everything he says. Like he is the exact like it's what I want to say. He's a Midwest, yeah, gay that has like scruples, but is also he has like a kind of a church background, so he like has an understanding of a lot of people and is just like also very strong in his convictions, but like isn't annoying about it. No, but it's also really funny and like knows where to poke fun and how to, even on topics that could never.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I just really love his podcast and cannot recommend it enough.
SPEAKER_00It sucks that he doesn't live here because we really can't run into him.
SPEAKER_03He was here for a long time, but yeah, he's East Coast now.
SPEAKER_00I know. Someday though, maybe you can get him into BuzzFeed.
SPEAKER_03Maybe. Maybe you could get him as a made fun of BuzzFeed twice.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, maybe you should invite him to be on your podcast. Yeah, that would be fun. And you could be like, I feel like lean into it. Like you made fun of us, but like here you are. Come talk.
SPEAKER_03I think the room might catch on fire if Dylan and Caleb get into a conversation.
SPEAKER_00You'll be a third wheel for sure.
SPEAKER_03I'm literally in the corner just being like, Yep.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, well, you can aspire too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. Okay, what's yours?
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness. Well, I did finish.
SPEAKER_03This is Oh my god, did you finally finish Christmas Tree Farm?
SPEAKER_00What? That was so long ago. Oh. I mean, I haven't really been reading right now, which is pretty sad. No, I watched all three seasons of The Secret Lives of the Mormon Wives. And I will say that I rejected this show for a really long time. I was like, these girls are stupid. No, I didn't think that, but I was just like, there's no, I don't watch Housewives, which is shocking, I know. Very I don't watch any Housewives, and so I kind of just looped them into that where like I would not care at all. But they really captivated me because they are wild, they're wild, for one. They have such a wild way of living, and I think I'm fascinated a little bit by the Mormon way of doing things. And like half of them are super religious, half of them aren't. And they're I think it's that thing when new reality shows pop up in the first season or two, they are they have nothing to lose. It's like the beginning of Vanderpumps. Oh, yeah. They have nothing to lose, they are laying it all out there, they're not holding anything back.
SPEAKER_03Right. The show may not get picked up again, like it's so much easier.
SPEAKER_00And so it's always, I feel like all those first seasons are always so good because they're not. Once you get 10 seasons in, you're making so much money per episode. Yeah, you're pretty famous now, and now you're like, something I would have said or done nine seasons ago, I'm just not gonna do now because I don't want to lose brand deals. I don't want to. So it was just they really, they're very the most undiverse cast I have ever seen in my life. And I don't love that. Yeah, but it is just their where they live and their upbringing. I can't like I guess whatever. But they I was in it. I binge watched all
CGI De-Aging And TV Picks
SPEAKER_00three of those seasons, and the new season's about to come out, and I am very excited about it because they fight constantly. I they're always fighting.
SPEAKER_03I implore you to just uh so I have watched the newest two this current and the past season of Salt Lake. Housewives. Yes. And boyfriend and I, and he's never seen we've seen the same. So we've gone back to the front, we're on season one of Salt Lake, and it is so good.
SPEAKER_00Are they Mormon?
SPEAKER_03Some of them. So I would give it like I am watching.
SPEAKER_00Weird that there's no crossover.
SPEAKER_03Yet true. I sporadic I've like I watched sporadic episodes with him, right? But like Salt Lake has me. And I it's kind of what you're describing. So I would do it. Like, if you want to get into a franchise, then you'll have something to talk about with me. Finally.
SPEAKER_00Nothing to talk about, nothing.
SPEAKER_03But also, this intrigues me, and maybe I'll give the Mormon wives a chance. Also, just so I can know the lore of these people that are.
SPEAKER_00I think you should, because they're wild.
SPEAKER_03So there's only three seasons. That's a pretty easy catch-up. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I think you should.
SPEAKER_03We'll see.
SPEAKER_00Okay, birthdays, me.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, that's a good one. How lucky. Happy birthday, Allie. There's no none of the rest matter, actually. But who do you share this birthday with?
SPEAKER_00Kind of a lot of people. I only really knew about two. So then so weird. But Sugar from BTS.
SPEAKER_03We've known this. We've known that.
SPEAKER_00He's 33. Sunny Lee, the gymnast. Had no idea. She's 23. She is a child. Uh I knew this one, Bow Wow. My whole life. That was my fun fact before I knew BTS. Yeah. It was I share a birthday with Bow Wow. And that is dope. Uh, he is 39. Matthew Gray Goobler from CSI. Not CSI. The one where he's really smart, crime scene investigator. God, what is Snaps?
SPEAKER_03Criminal Minds.
SPEAKER_00Criminal Minds. You're that is correct.
SPEAKER_03Okay, yes. I know who you're talking about.
SPEAKER_00Oscar Isaac is 47. He is an actor, and I did recognize him when I looked at his picture, but I know nothing about that man.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Do you know him?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00When I show you his picture, you will.
SPEAKER_03We'll see.
SPEAKER_00You've definitely seen him, right?
SPEAKER_03Kind of familiar.
SPEAKER_00He's in he was in Frankenstein. Oh, yes. He's in ex machina.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Dune part one.
SPEAKER_03Frankenstein, I know. He's Dr. Frankenstein.
SPEAKER_00Oh, he is Doctor.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Brittany Snow. Had no idea this was her birthday. She's 40.
SPEAKER_03Oh, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_00The rapper YG is 36, our same age. Sierra Ramirez. She was from that like ABC family show where they were adopted. Foster the fosters and then spin-off, which I watched her and her sister.
SPEAKER_03Sides of the Bone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, something like that. I actually liked that show. I forget what it was called though. Something about Good Trouble. Good Trouble. Good Trouble. She's 31, also really young. Wow. Kerr Smith, full circle. Wow. Is the gay actor on Dawson's Creek?
SPEAKER_03There we go.
SPEAKER_00She's 54. And then I threw this in because it was my favorite Disney Channel original movie for a long time. Luck of the Irish.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Is it this day?
SPEAKER_00Yes, this day in 2001.
SPEAKER_03Did you know that?
SPEAKER_00I did not.
SPEAKER_03When you were 11, were you like, on this 11th birthday, I would like to watch I didn't. Okay.
SPEAKER_00But I loved that movie. I had the VHS.
SPEAKER_03We had no idea what was coming for us that September.
SPEAKER_00We didn't. I was just watching Luck of the Irish, not knowing.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00And that is crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
Doomscrolling, Anxiety, And Boundaries
SPEAKER_00All right. Well, thank you all for being with me on this birthday of mine. I really appreciate it. Love you guys so much. Happy birthday to you. Thank you. Where'd your piano go?
SPEAKER_03It's right there. It's like on in the wall in the back of the kitchen.
SPEAKER_00Oh. He got a new piano for his birthday, guys. So expect some new music soon.
SPEAKER_03Soon. Have a great week.
unknownBye.
