Hiatus Plans And Studio Move

SPEAKER_00

Well, well, well.

SPEAKER_02

Well, well, well.

SPEAKER_00

Welcome back. Welcome back. She's a different woman now. She's been to Vegas.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, yeah. I'm excited to talk about it. But we have some business to attend to first.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Listeners, viewers. Everyone.

SPEAKER_02

Listen up. Listen up. This isn't this isn't bad. We're making it, we're doing that thing where it sounds bad.

SPEAKER_00

We are going on a brief hiatus for a few weeks. We basically I went to Allison and I was like, hey, I'm kind of drowning right now. I have so many things going on. And normally that's normal.

SPEAKER_02

But now I'm as your like status correct. Correct.

SPEAKER_00

But now I'm moving. So I have to pack up my entire apartment while also still meeting these deadlines for work and moving my life in with another person, which is another element.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So like where when I it was crazy when I moved into the current place I'm in, but it was just me. So like I lived in you know box city for like two months because I could, it was just me. So we are I'm trying, we're trying to do this move consciously and set aside like three days without any disturbance so that we can move in. Yeah. Because we both have such busy jobs. We need to like have to do it.

SPEAKER_02

If you don't do it, you're like it, it's never gonna happen. You're gonna be like a year in and still have boxes.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And we probably won't even be at this place longer than a year. So it's like get it settled in quickly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, so I went to Allie and I was like, I think it's okay that we take a few weeks off because Yeah, we've only missed what two episodes, right?

SPEAKER_02

Or one.

SPEAKER_00

One for me having COVID. Yeah. And we almost missed another, but we had Angela filling.

SPEAKER_02

Angela filling, yeah. So in what this is episode 13 of season three. Which I don't even know what that means.

SPEAKER_00

Over 120 episodes. Yeah. We have never we've missed one. Yeah. So we were like, she we were basically just like, yeah, it's okay that we take a break. Plus, this will also give, and and again, like with a move means the podcast studio moves, and I have no idea what that's gonna look like yet. So this will also give some time for us to assess what space we have to work with. We did decide we're gonna keep this couch.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because the office is big. So in theory, it will just be this setup, but in a different space.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah. It'll only be a few, it'll be a few weeks. There's we'll give you guys a date. We'll post on if you're not following the A-list uh podcast Instagram, go follow it and we'll you know, post on there what date we're coming back. And I guess if you don't want to follow it, you'll be surprised. But it'll it won't be it won't be forever, don't freak out.

SPEAKER_00

No, we love the momentum we've built. So we don't want to.

SPEAKER_02

And we we're gonna come back with some, we're gonna revamp some of the show.

SPEAKER_00

It's also hard as the like we're the only two that work on this. We have no other outside help.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, it will be nice too to have some distance from it to give it, give it the revamp we really want to give it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So that's what's happening. And with that, we will get into the show.

Nostalgia Loops And OCD Habits

SPEAKER_00

That's right. I'm Alison. He's Alex. Down on the farm. Oh my gosh. Do you have any nostalgia that you like regularly have going through your head?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Like what?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, this hasn't happened to me in years, but when I was younger, I used to sing that dun dun dun dun Constantinople. Isn't that is that a song?

SPEAKER_00

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like it was I used to be on a commercial when I was younger. Something about Constantinople. And I get in loops where I say words over and over in my head and I can't stop. And that's one of them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, when I my anxiety is high, my vocal stim is like either commercials from the 90s and 2000s or whatever very popular song is happening right now, but like one phrase of it on loop.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Two days ago, baby, where the hell is my husband? Baby, where the hell is my husband? What's that? Baby, where the hell is my husband? You just can't stop. Ray. Yeah, no, I just can't stop.

SPEAKER_02

It comes, it just is doing that in my head, and it's like another word that gets stuck on the loop sometimes in my head is mesothelioma.

SPEAKER_00

You just say it. Okay, similarly, I will go anti-screen.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's a word lots of oh my gosh, yeah. It wasn't that so fun to be like, I know the longest word ever in the dictionary. Yeah. I yeah, there I think it's words with like a lot of syllables, I like to say in my head. Oh, okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, but super califagilistic.

SPEAKER_02

And sometimes I sometimes I envision a circle going around forever and I can't stop it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's O D C O C D.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That's what that is. And I get it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I um had really nothing before you left. No dead ass I did. But I had I had made myself a matcha like an hour ago to like give me a little pick me up because if you guys can't hear my voice, I am sick from Vegas, which I'll get into. And if you hear something, I have a cough drop in my mouth, so I don't cough everywhere. But very polite. Um I did check it because I had boiled, not boiled, I had heated some water up in my teapot.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_02

But before I left for Vegas, we were going to stay at Josh's so that because we had to get up super early in the morning, and we were like, it would just be easier. And I was like, How married to you are you to staying at your place? And he was like, pretty married. I want to sleep in my bed because he has a more comfortable bed. And since we had to get up so early, he was like, I really need like quality sleep. And I was like, Okay, well, I'm not gonna lie, like, I my OCD about leaving on a trip if it's more than like one night, is very high. Like, I have to do so many things before I leave on a trip, I have to take out all the trash, like normal things like that, but then I have to like just make sure the house is not gonna burn down.

SPEAKER_00

Fair.

SPEAKER_02

And so I literally had to go back in the morning just like to give it a once over. I did forget something, so it So it served a purpose. It served a purpose, but I did have to go check everything one more time. Yeah, and that is OCD.

SPEAKER_00

And that is okay.

Vegas Recap Plus Where To Stay

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay, Vegas, recap.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, please.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. I like it. I love it. I had a great time.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

SPEAKER_02

I was expecting not to, but I think I was expecting opposites of New York for me. I think I have heard stories more about the like club scene and how annoying that is. Because you have to just like if you want to get into a club, you have to know a promoter, and then you have to bring like more girls than you have guys, and you have to wear or you have to dress up.

SPEAKER_00

You can just buy bottle service so you get a table.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you have to spend like a crap ton of money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've just heard people complain about that side of it, and I just thought that it was all that. Mainly, like it feels like that's also my perception of Miami because Miami is like agreed, yeah. If you are if you think you're like a Indiana 10, you're like a Miami 2. Miami too. Like, and everyone will treat you as such. And so I'm very scared of Miami. I've never really been there. I mean, I have been there for going on cruises, yes, but I haven't been there like to party or whatever. Oh my gosh, re just like I'll try, I'll try to give like a quick recap of like the things we did. Yeah, but I will say we stayed at the Rio, which was we had to stay for his work thing, and it was a terrible experience.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_02

I will say, like, the bed was pretty comfy, but very like from the outside, it looks like nice, but very outdated rooms. I know I think that in the other tower, there's two towers, they are starting to remodel. Got it. So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that. But our room, paint chipped everywhere, furniture chipped, the carpet was a little just like things like stuck some place. I don't know, just like it's old.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But the biggest thing that made it the worst thing ever is that there was one elevator working for our whole tower. Thousands of people. Like, I tried to look up how many rooms were in the entire hotel, and maybe like 3,000 or something. I don't know. So then Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Were you there from till Sunday or Monday?

SPEAKER_02

Uh Monday morning.

SPEAKER_00

Lucky.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. It was a pretty easy drive back.

SPEAKER_00

Also, I just like when we s when we went for Backstreet Boys, we stayed at Cosmo and we had to check out on Sunday. We waited for the elevator for 20 minutes and they were all operational because everyone's checking out. So I can't imagine what that would be. Think about that, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So it was nice because we left super early. Well, we had taken our luggage down Sunday night, so that all we had was like uh a bag. Bless you, bless you.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

All we had was a bag to take with us with of like the clothes we were had worn, um, toothbrush. Like I had like mid-tweekender that I left. Got it, yeah, yeah. But we'd taken down suitcases and stuff, so it was fine.

SPEAKER_00

But you took suitcases down Sunday?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I've never heard of this to put in the car. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Because we were worried about the elevator and we didn't want to deal with it.

SPEAKER_00

You were considering that. Understood, okay.

SPEAKER_02

We just didn't want to deal with having like a bunch of stuff.

SPEAKER_00

I thought this is like a thing you do the night before you.

SPEAKER_02

We were just like, oh, if we have to wait that long, we don't want to have our suitcases and like a bunch of other stuff. But out of the four elevators, one worked. And at any given time, it did. It took a half hour to get up or down to your room.

SPEAKER_00

Did they tell you, did they preface like, we're so sorry? No. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

No, no one's no one said anything. And we learned over the course of the weekend that this has been a years-long thing. They have not fixed it. These people come to this uh event every year. It's like a a relay race that goes from Baker, California to Vegas.

SPEAKER_00

To the Rio Hotel.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it always ends there. And like they like end like running into the convention center to finish on the room.

SPEAKER_01

That's cute, that's cute.

SPEAKER_02

And they've been cut doing that for years. And we heard some lady in the uh elevator was like, Oh, they know about this. Like, ever since I've been doing this event, these elevators have been broken.

SPEAKER_00

Insanity.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not kidding. They're at like the peak times of elevator usage. So check-in, check out, after dinner, like that. When it was like super early in the morning or super late, it was okay. The line completely out the thing into the casino, just wild. There was one time I waited because not only was it packed with people trying to go down.

SPEAKER_00

You should have made a TikTok, you might have gotten money for it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, we we didn't pay because it it was paid for by his work, but maybe they were like, we want to make it up to you.

SPEAKER_00

Here's a free stay.

SPEAKER_02

They don't care because people complained and they were like, Well, you can change rooms for a fee.

SPEAKER_00

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

They don't care. Um, I was we were on the 38th floor, so people were getting on the elevator to go up to come down because there was no way to get on it otherwise. Oh my god. So there were two rounds. I stood waiting on the 38th floor, and every time opened up completely full, like cannot fit one more person in. I got so mad that I went down all 38 flights of stairs.

SPEAKER_00

That was almost us. I totally know that feeling.

SPEAKER_02

My calves hurt just stopped hurting. But it only took me 10 minutes to get down, like it wasn't that bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I was like, I don't care if the alarm sounds, like they can actually come find me because I will freak out on them because I've been standing for 40 minutes trying to go down. Yeah. So big L, don't stay at the Rio. Wow. Although they did house the Empire Strips back, which was actually really nice.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't realize it was at the hotel. It was the hotel.

SPEAKER_02

That's how I saw it. I saw the uh ticket tickets because I was just looking at the hotel website and I saw that it was there. And incredible.

SPEAKER_00

Still just as good?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, the theater was so small, we were so close.

SPEAKER_00

Fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was like 16 rows. Wow for the whole thing. Yeah. Good job. Highly recommend. He loved it. Yeah. Yeah. He was like, I totally, I get it. He's like, other than it's like burlesque and there's like boobs. Yeah, yeah. Like that, like he meant he was like, the dancing is really good. Like, I understand why you like it.

SPEAKER_00

The art.

SPEAKER_02

And he thought the jokes were they landed. They landed because he was it the same show. Exactly the same.

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So highly recommend that. We had a nice dinner at the Vanderpump A Paris. Ah, yes. In the Paris Hotel. Great food. Had a great time. Very beautiful. Loved it. Yeah, very cute. We had drinks at the chandelier bar.

SPEAKER_00

Good.

SPEAKER_02

Gorgeous.

SPEAKER_00

So gorgeous.

SPEAKER_02

We kind of just people watched there. Yeah. Like it was nice. We were like watching these. This was the group of like three or four like young 20s pretty girls and a group of clearly dudes at a convention that were in their 40s.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Just staring at these girls. And we were I was like, look at these guys. Like they really think they have a chance with these girls. Wild. And they just kept, I was like, is this what guys do? And he's like, yeah. Like, he's like, but at some point, like, you either have to have the courage to go up to them or move on. But they were just staring.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, They didn't even buy them a round of drinks or anything.

SPEAKER_02

No, these two younger guys came up to talk to them and they still didn't care about them. I was like, you get it, girls.

SPEAKER_00

It's a girl strip.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh so that was very gorge. Yeah. We had we kind of just one of the nights just like kind of walked up and down the strip. We got a Fat Tuesday daiquiri and just like so glad you did that.

SPEAKER_00

You have to do that.

SPEAKER_02

Which is when I really was like, oh, I get it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because it's like a it's like a city-sized cruise ship.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Isn't that pretty accurate?

SPEAKER_00

Less claustrophobic.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. We stopped at the Bellagio fountains. We he took me inside to see the garden. We did the You did do it. The high roller link thing. We did get the drink. It was so hard to drink that fast.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, what do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

They have like a unlimited drink package, right?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. People were housing drinks in this. Because you get on, you pay like an extra 30 bucks or whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And you get, there's an open bar. And you get on, and the bartender starts screaming. He's like, this is what I have. I'm gonna start over here. Everything you see on here is what I have. I have these mixers, I have these sodas, blah, blah, blah. Okay, tell me what you want. And because it's only a 30-minute time around, beautiful views. Everyone's like, I want a cranberry soda, or I want a cranberry vodka. I want a blah blah blah. I saw this lady, she had six drinks.

SPEAKER_00

Just like I'm getting my money's worth.

SPEAKER_02

She was housing them, and I had three. I mean, they weren't the biggest dollars of drink. Okay. They weren't the biggest cubs. He was like, you have to have two drinks at least.

SPEAKER_00

At least, yeah. Um, but it was pretty cool, right?

SPEAKER_02

It was so big. You could really good uh view of the sphere.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Oh, I haven't been on it since that's been built. That would be dope.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's good. So, like, it is fun to do the drinking, but it's like I feel like you're focused on getting your money's worth of drinking and like sucking down drinks.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, this they have the bartender is on the thing. He's on it, yeah. When I first went on it, there wasn't bars on there yet. It was just like big open space. They might be like every other one, it might not be every single one that has but you could go to their bar inside, which is what we did. We got like a big drink and then rode.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's fun. I wouldn't try to do that.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it is it is fun, but it's all it's like you have to be ready to suck some drinks down. Choke and cruise. Which you are good at. So you actually be pretty good. Um I'm trying to think. Oh, we had the famous, I guess, um, buffet at the Cosmos, the Wicked Spoon. Yeah. And we had bottomless mimosas there, and I got tip tip.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, oh, oh. But it was Top Tipsy?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. I we probably both drank a bottle of champagne ourselves.

SPEAKER_00

As you should in bottomless mimosa brunch.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It was really good. Am I missing anything? I don't know. It was, I feel like it was a solid great Vegas experience. Yeah. And no, did not wake up with any hangovers at all.

SPEAKER_00

It was probably also nice to just go with it's like the two of you. It's not like you went for a bachelorette where everyone's like, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was like tired. Yeah, I was tired by the end, and I was like, okay, I'm ready to go. Three nights is my favorite. Hungover at all.

SPEAKER_01

Good, good, good.

SPEAKER_02

And it's like his favorite place also ever. He's like, I've been here like 40 times, and he is I know every nook and cranny of this place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's so fun.

SPEAKER_02

So it was like fun for him to show me all of his you know, favorite spots and all that, and you know, do everything that everyone always memories? Oh man. Honestly, just walking the strip. I we had a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_00

Perfect weather, probably, because it wasn't summer heat.

SPEAKER_02

It was pretty hot. The first night it was like 90 at night. Oh, okay. It got a little cooler over the weekend, but it was pretty hot. It was a little more hot than I would like, to be honest.

SPEAKER_00

Tried one in July.

SPEAKER_02

No, I would say that we had a lot of fun just like being cute and talking and chatting and people watching and stuff like that. I don't know, probably the high roller. Like, that's a very memorable.

SPEAKER_00

He had never done that?

SPEAKER_02

No, he has, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he has, okay. But you got to show him Empire Strips Back, which Empire Strips Back, which is pretty cool.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, highly recommend all always, you know. Just don't stay at the Rio.

SPEAKER_00

Noted.

SPEAKER_02

And I do really get the importance of staying at a nice hotel now.

SPEAKER_00

That part is it's true.

SPEAKER_02

Because I am like a penny pincher bitch, but I am like, okay, I get it.

SPEAKER_00

Imagine like at the end of the night going back to your room at the Aria or the Cosmopolitan. It's like wow.

SPEAKER_02

Gorgeous, yeah. Smelled great.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I did go to Fountain Blue. Um, my friend from high school works at the Cartier store in Fountain Blue. It's where's that?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, Fontaine Bleu.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

The hotel?

SPEAKER_02

Is it Fo you say Fontaine? Fontaine Blue Fontaine. I hear everyone say Fountain.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe that's just I only know that because that's where they put us up for with Joyce for the AMAs we stayed there.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

And they said it so many times. But yeah, that hotel, so nice.

SPEAKER_02

Gorgeous.

SPEAKER_00

That was the best room.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah. It's a little like I get it that it's like sexy and sleek, but it's a little too Did you go to like the you didn't see like the pool decks or any of that?

SPEAKER_00

I literally just I was there for 20 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

I parked, I walked into the store, which had it for like a half hour, and then I left.

SPEAKER_00

So I didn't see the different levels, though, it's really cool there.

SPEAKER_02

The the entrance to the casino and all that, it just felt a little Apple store.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. My vibe. Did you go into the Aria?

SPEAKER_02

We walked through, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that one's cool. I like that. I mean, that one is feels better.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah, it's like I wanted to walk through most of the iconic ones. So, like the Venetian, I was obsessed. I was like, I want this is where I want to be.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, Venetians.

SPEAKER_02

It's just like the vibes of that, and I like the Paris.

SPEAKER_00

Paris is cool because it's like the base of the Eiffel Towers inside the where it looks like you're outside.

SPEAKER_02

I liked New York, New York.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I Did you ride the coaster?

SPEAKER_02

We did it. Oh, okay. So that's uh something to do for another time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it is so fun.

SPEAKER_02

But I, you know, you know, I like a gimmick.

SPEAKER_00

Cool, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I was like, I think the Venetian is like made for me.

SPEAKER_00

I wish, I do wish they would like kind of revamp the gimmickyness because that is kind of a fun selling point of Vegas, but the gimmicky hotels are like some of the bad ones, yeah. But they used to be delayed.

SPEAKER_02

I saw this. If you can say at the Luxor or what's the other one? Excalibur? Yeah, Excalibur or Luxor, but you get three, it's like$350 or something for three nights.

SPEAKER_00

Three meals a day.

SPEAKER_02

Three meals a day, all inclusive, like three meals a day. You get tickets to a show, and you get tickets to the roller coaster. And something else, I feel.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's all like, yeah, for 350 for the whole time.

SPEAKER_00

They're like, please.

SPEAKER_02

And everyone is like, no, right. I'm not doing that. So I feel like that's when you need to be like, okay, we have to do something revamp because no one wants to stay here.

SPEAKER_00

I have stayed at Luxor. I've stayed at most of the gimmicky hotels. I've not stayed in New York, New York. And of the gimmicky hotels, like the nicest one was well, do you consider Venetian gimmicky?

SPEAKER_02

Kind of, but not like those. Yeah. Like Circus Circus, Luxor, Excalibur, those all seem super and the rooms were awful.

SPEAKER_00

They were awful. Venetian was really nice. Their rooms are very nice.

SPEAKER_02

Why can't they just make them like holiday in vibes? So where it's like it's still Yeah, that's a good point. Like it's clean. Yeah, it's just bare bones.

SPEAKER_00

Totally.

SPEAKER_02

Like you can re they can redo them to be bare bones, but be clean. Yeah. And not like, you know, put it on.

SPEAKER_00

Did you go through Circus Circus? No. Okay, because it is across from Fontaine Blue, which is why me and Joyce went. There to the like the carnival. Oh, yeah. The theme park inside is cute. Like, that's fun. I've never done any of the rides there. I would.

Disney Food And Wine Strategy

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's just so far away. Like, I wasn't gonna go across in park and go in because it was he was at work at that time. I just wanted to go see my friend. So I was like, I'm not gonna do all that. Yeah. But that's the um recap. How was your weekend?

SPEAKER_00

Well, as you know, Alison ditched us for Disney.

SPEAKER_02

I was honestly devastated.

SPEAKER_00

It was okay, it was actually great. We did um we Katie went in your place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then we did the Food and Wine Festival. Everyone understood the assignment, but I realized when like I drove, everyone met up here, and we got in the car. I was like, I have no idea what this is. Like, I know of it, but I don't know anything about like where do you go? What do you do? What's should we look ahead of us?

SPEAKER_02

I'm just gonna go up to one of those kiosks that like has information.

SPEAKER_00

Oh well, I assumed you had it all figured out, and I was like, guys, I just realized the person that wanted to do this isn't here. I'm so down, have no idea what to do. So then Angela looked it up. So on the drive, we kind of like figured out, oh, here's where you go, here's what you do, which ended up being great. We there's a kiosk like right by right when you get inside that's like enter here. Okay, and then it and then it was like super easy in that we did the eight ticket one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then we got the pamphlet, and it was like there were eight different stations that you could go to. Plus, there was also you could also use them at restaurants, but you had to have reservations at the restaurants.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And it was only for specific things. So I was like, why don't we go through the whole pamphlet, decide what we want? Because if you go to one kiosk and tell them everything you want, they'll print a receipt with all of them so you don't have to wait in line.

SPEAKER_02

I did know that was a thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we all decided on the like we each I mean, we ended up picking the same the same stuff, but we didn't end up going to one of the places because everything was spicy, and I was just like, you guys can do it, and they were like, No, that's not. I was like, truly, I don't care.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, um So did you guys like share everything, or did you just each get two something?

SPEAKER_00

We shared all of it. So we we agreed we decided not to get any of the drinks that were offered because it was like they're all sugary, and so instead we did like you know the bar next to the vineyard. Yeah, that's where we got our drink. We started with a drink there while we mapped it out. We picked our eight things, we went and started doing that, and we did it somehow. We figured out really well. We did like we got the first two things, then it was time for our lightning lane for Little Mermaid. We did that, we got off, we got one more drink, we got two more things, we shared them. Like we spaced it out into basically like four trips. Yeah, and then after the when we were halfway through, oh, we did three and four and four. So after the first four, we went to Disney, rode some things. Like Chad and Katie had never done Mickey Minnie's runaway railroads, so we did that. Katie's not a ride girl, it was so she was so scared of everything.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, she wanted to go, she's not a ride girl?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she was like, I'll hold bags. And we're like, no, there's like a plenty that you can do here. We don't we're not here for a full fucking.

SPEAKER_02

It's not six flags. It's not to your point.

SPEAKER_00

Like it's she doesn't like anything with a drop. Like she she's very traumatized by and very that's easy to navigate. It is so she was very questionable about pirates. I was like, it's two drops, they're very small, it's more like a ramp. There's not even a seatbelt or a lap bar, like it's that, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But she was nervous, like she was like Does she she doesn't like the feeling or what she's just like?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like her dad tricked her when she was a little kid to getting on the rock and roller coaster at C or my gosh, Disney World, and like that's a hardcore roller coaster. It ruined her, and of course, like I know that's trauma. Yeah, but if you think you're getting on, he was like, it's this it's a small little thing, and then it's that because everyone does downplay everything, so I get that. It ruined her. So anyway, I was like, We're I was like, I don't want to you to betray your trust, so we'll make I will make sure you fully understand what's happening on all of these. So she was a trooper, so we got to do Pirates, Haunted Mansion, we got beignets. She was like, I gotta get beignets. We got beignets over there. Oh my gosh, of course. We walked through the treehouse.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, I always forget about that.

SPEAKER_00

I know, and then we did one more thing over there. I don't remember. Then we went back to California Adventure and did our last four meals, rode a couple more things, and then we had a reservation at 7:50 at Magic Key Terrace. Everyone was like, we basically snacked the whole day and everyone wanted to meet.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, Well, I have this reservation if you want to keep it. They were so backed up, and that park closed at nine. They were so backed up they didn't even seat us with a reservation until 8:30.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, 40 minutes after our rest. That's annoying. And we were all kind of like, fuck, we wanted to get out of here before the park closed. Yeah. But we got up there and had, no joke, the best food I've ever had at Disneyland. What'd you have? Chad and I shared a salad that a Caesar salad that was amazing, and then we shared um pork, not chops, some sort of pork belly something. So good. Katie got gnocchi, and she was like, This is insane. And then Angela got, I didn't remember what Angela got, some sort of a pork as well. And it was like, we were all just like, whoa, this is all so good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And we got like a focaccia appetizer, and then we all had Diet Cokes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh, that sounds delicious on an afternight of parking.

SPEAKER_00

And then everyone was anxious, mostly boyfriend, because the park was closing. The park was closed, like it was 9 10 by the time we were done eating.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And we're leaving, and he's like, Oh no, this tram situation. I was like, no, no, no. They had opened up way more tram line, like it went down so far.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_00

So from like we left at 9 10, we were at our car by 9 30.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

From walking all the way, yeah. But also, Disneyland was open till 11. So a lot of people leaving California Adventure were going. I was like, just wait. It's a boyfriend, I promise. Like, people are gonna go to Disneyland. Yeah, he was like, Oh, there is a lot of people going to Disneyland. So we made it back and then hit the most insane traffic home.

SPEAKER_02

That's been happening. When I came up back with from with my sister last summer, it was we were in traffic for so long.

SPEAKER_00

Couldn't believe it at that hour.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_00

Like getting out of the parking garage at like what, 9 40? I was like, this is gonna be great. It took us over an hour.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like it wasn't like that when we first started going. Like when I first started.

SPEAKER_00

And Chad and I went to the city.

SPEAKER_02

But we also no, you still live here. I was gonna say, is it different because I have to go further west now?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, we saw what happened. There was first was a car stopped in the middle of the road that caused and then the next one was uh construction. They were actively closing one lane. So we were behind it enough that we were slow down because everyone was going like this to get over.

SPEAKER_02

I will say one time I was coming back from Anaheim with Josh when I went to that Angels game, and he saw that it was getting bad, and he like doo-de-dooed off on got off and went like through the city, and it was like great. So if you ever want to do that, me but that's yeah, it's probably not great.

SPEAKER_00

Um so Disney was great, and then Saturday I went to drag brunch, and you know what? I threw my hands up in the air and I said, Whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, how did you feel? You went to drag brunch with um Haley. Haley and some other friends that you you didn't really know anyone besides Haley, right?

SPEAKER_00

And Chad and Angela.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they were there?

SPEAKER_00

Dylan?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Dylan, Chloe's husband. Yeah, but anyway, yes, so it was like, and of course, I got the seat that was the one access point for a drag queen coming to our sex. Which Angela was in. I wasn't thinking.

SPEAKER_02

You should have been like switch with me.

SPEAKER_00

Wasn't thinking, but like Angela couldn't see anything happening because it was like against a wall. Oh so she was kind of like yeah, but we had a heart out of two because boyfriend had to go be with Erica Jane. Right, of course, and I was like, that's actually fine because like we were up doing Disney yesterday, and like the show started at 12 30, so we were gonna we knew we get to see most of it. Yeah, but it was so nice. We had couldn't believe how cheap it was.

SPEAKER_02

Where was it again? Idle idle hour. Idol hour.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we got tots, five dollars, and then bottomless mimosas, eighteen dollars a person.

SPEAKER_02

Work.

SPEAKER_00

It's like what are you kidding me? Yeah, um, but it was good. I threw my hands in the air and said, Whatever's gonna happen to happens. Chugged two mimosas and then let it happen, and no one bothered me.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that table, because all of those drag queens know that whole table, basically. Correct. I feel like when they were coming over, they were probably going to like a break. Yeah, they were like, Oh my gosh. It's my favorite thing. Yeah, when you know a drag queen and they're like performing, and then they come to you and they like their smile drops a little and they're like, I'm so hot or something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Haley did say something to Joe at one point. He was like, What is that?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but boyfriend loved it. He got a funny video, a cute video of Joe, and then uh Joe reposted and they followed each other.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, cute.

SPEAKER_00

It was really good. Like it was very entertaining and funny show, and then we left. Like, I was like, Oh god, they're gonna scream at us for leaving in the middle of a show. No, it was actually and I was like, that was the first time I've ever had fun at a drag show.

Astronauts Circle The Moon Again

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's really good. I'm glad. Well, speaking of no, I should have segued when we were talking about rides. Speaking of rides, rides. Um, we went are going to the moon. We went to the moon. And I have things to say about it.

SPEAKER_00

I have no idea what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_02

What? We just sent for the first time in 54 years a group of astronauts to the moon, and they're not even landing on it. They're just going around it.

SPEAKER_00

They left Earth at a good time. Why? But why are they going to the moon? What's the mission?

SPEAKER_02

I actually don't know. Let me look. Damn it. I want to go. Why are we landing? What? So that makes me think more. Did we actually land?

SPEAKER_00

They're going to check out A1 Atlas or whatever. Just like they're communicating with the aliens.

SPEAKER_02

Let me check out the show. Don't you think? That is the first crewed journey that will go around the moon since 1972.

SPEAKER_00

That is crazy, actually. Why? What's the plan?

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna find out. Okay, mission goal: test life support systems and demonstrate human spaceflight capabilities beyond low Earth orbit for the first time since 1972. A free return traject they're doing a free return trajectory, leveraging lunar gravity to swing the spacecraft around the moon and back to Earth without any major engine burns. I guess they're just testing things. Testing manual maneuvering of a spacecraft in space.

SPEAKER_00

I guess it's just it's like here's some new equipment we've developed. Let's see how it works out there. Yeah. So that's crazy actually, because considering how long it's been since we've been there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but I'm just like, if we're going, like, why not land?

SPEAKER_00

It can't be that hard.

SPEAKER_02

Show us that it's show us that it's possible. And then it wasn't alive.

SPEAKER_00

Live stream it on TikTok.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be cool.

SPEAKER_02

That would be cool. I don't know. I'm just like, I want to see you land. Please. But even then when we believe it, then I actually do think we did it. Like I'm not in the camp of it's fake, but it is kind of fun to speculate. Another star story.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm just trying to make a good segue. I love this. There is an update in the Blake Lively Justin Baldone case. Are you excited to hear this? A federal judge dismissed most of the claims in Blake Lively's harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldone. Judge Lewis Lehman threw out 10 of Lively's 13 claims against Baldone, including sexual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy. However, three of her claims can proceed breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting in retaliation. The trial is set for May 18th, which I'm very excited for. Um, lively claimed that she suffered at least$161 million in lost earnings and damages due to the alleged smear campaign launched against her when the film came out.

SPEAKER_00

We have been following this story since the beginning of this podcast.

SPEAKER_02

I know that's why I felt like I needed to say the offer.

SPEAKER_00

That is wild. I can't believe it's a good idea.

SPEAKER_02

I also didn't know I read in this article that when Justin made his that is thrown out already, he was asking for$400 million. That's an insane number.

SPEAKER_00

So that couldn't have been real. That was just maybe just him trying to make a statement.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe, but it's like you didn't miss out on$400 million because you're not, you weren't gonna make$400 million. Right. I don't think that she's would have made$161 million. No. I don't know how it works.

SPEAKER_00

Unless she means like she lost maybe another movie that was happening afterward.

SPEAKER_02

Is she getting paid like that?

SPEAKER_00

Well, the salary plus residuals or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

She missed out on what two films. You think she's getting paid getting paid$80 million?

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's not just for the movie, right? It's like everything that would come after it. Potential brand deals and all you know, the you know what I mean? They get paid to do the press tour. Like it's all sorts of stuff.

Summer House Scandal Breaks Friendships

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy. But obviously, um, we'll be back when this is happening. So you'll hear more about it, but wow. And then the last big story of the week is Scandaval 2.0. And then I know you don't know these people.

SPEAKER_00

I know what's going on because everyone at BuzzFeed is a buzz about it and has I got the pun intended. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I also don't really know these people. I started um okay, so rewind. Basically, Scandaval 2.0 is happening with the show Summer House. I tried to watch the first couple seasons because I do like Paige Sorbo and Hannah Burner, they're the giggle squad. Giggly squad. And I went back to try to watch it and I was just like, I kind of hate most of these people, and I don't care.

SPEAKER_00

That the giggly squad came from like a comment from Yes.

SPEAKER_02

So Kyle Cook, the blonde guy who was married to Amanda.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um there there was like a scene where they're at a dinner table and he's trying to have this serious conversation, or like they're in a kind of an argument, and Paige and Hannah are not paying attention at all, and they're just at the end of the table, just giggling to each other, and he like annoyingly calls them the giggly squad down there, and so that's where they like did things.

SPEAKER_00

And they just won the best podcast award.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, they did. iHeartRadio. Okay, so the players here are Amanda Batula.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

She just got divorced from Kyle Cook, like very recently. Yeah. Then there's a cast member named West. I don't know his last name. Yeah, I know. He's kind of a recent.

SPEAKER_00

I got really hung up on this because I thought, who's named West? I know, right?

SPEAKER_02

He's a kind of a recent cast member of the last couple seasons. Like he hasn't been on it from the start. Amanda and Kyle have. Okay. And then the third person involved is a cast member named Sierra. She was on the last season of or two seasons ago on Traders. Um, the one with Johnny Bananas and like that one. Season two of Trader, she was on Sierra Miller. She used to date Kyle uh West.

SPEAKER_00

Sierra did.

SPEAKER_02

Sierra did. They've had an on-again-off again relationship since uh they've been on the show. She very much on the traitors? Yes. She very much has feelings for him still, although they are not together. But I believe on the last season of Summer House, like it kind of was it made people feel like they might get back together. Like they were flirting a lot, they were, you know, okay, yeah. Whatever. Amanda and Kyle just broke up. But the kicker is that all these girls are like best friends. They're kind of like, you know, girls before, what is it? Not bros before hoes, but the girl version, chicks before dicks vibes. Like we're like, we are tight and we can don't care about anyone else, like girl power, whatever. So there's been rumors over the past couple weeks that Amanda and West have been hooking up, and no one believed them. They were like, she would never do that to her best friend. That's crazy. They just like they run in the same circle, they were seen out together with friends, out at dinner, and it was just like they're not, they're just like friends, whatever. And then a few nights ago, it really blew up, and then they did a joint post on their Instagram confirming that it they were have they're doing something, but they never said in the in the post, they didn't say we are together or we are dating. So it was like cryptic, and I honestly thought it was April Fool's because they they were so cryptic with it that it was like, then what is this statement? Because you're not saying anything. Yeah, it was just like this is very new, and there's feelings, and I don't know, it was just like a weird statement. Yeah, I I'm not gonna read it because like whatever. Yeah, but everyone is so mad at Amanda because one is shiner people on oh Sierra, because it's just like how could you do that to your best friend? Yeah, and everyone's kind of like West is like a snake, and he's just like a F boy, kind of like because he's obviously in all of this, like people are like he's still hooking up with other girls, like they're not exclusively dating. Yeah. So why would you throw away your friendship, one of one of your best friends for you not to even be in love? Like, if you this is gonna happen, like you have to be so in love, you have to get married and be together forever for you to like betray your friend like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's intense.

SPEAKER_02

So it's it's another same thing as Scandavol. And there was like a paparazzi photo of Sierra, like right when the po their post went live on their story, and she's like outside of Hermes in New York, and she like sinks to the ground and is like has her head and her hand in her head, like someone's consoling her, like she it's very dramatic. Which that photo kind of made me feel like it was also staged.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, feels like it.

SPEAKER_02

But April Fools has come and gone, and nothing has been said against, but it is the biggest news of the week. Wow, like everyone has forgotten about uh Taylor Taylor Frankie Paul.

SPEAKER_00

She's probably like, yes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, yeah. It's like all about that.

SPEAKER_00

I am seeing a lot of videos of people being like, hey, I'm spend the day with me as Taylor Frankie Paul's assistant. And they just are like the camera's set up, they're like picking up chairs.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I did see one of those. That's funny. That's funny.

SPEAKER_00

But also, are you saying Scandaval? Wouldn't it be Scam Deval? Um Is it a play on his name and the word scam?

SPEAKER_02

Like like um, not scam, like um What's his last name? Scandaval.

SPEAKER_00

So adding the sc isn't it scandal. Scandal. No, scam, yeah. I could not think of that word. Scandival. Alright, I'm with you.

SPEAKER_02

Someone I heard, what'd they call it? Amandaval. No. Amanda Scamanda. Scamanda, but I think that's a podcast.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a podcast and a show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, which is a good name. Anyway, I can't comment more really, other than like I don't know these people, but I am not on the side of the person who would screw over their friend for a guy. Like ew.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Even especially someone who you saw like over these past couple seasons, from what I hear, did not treat your friend well. So does you think he's gonna treat you well?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

She's been crying about him and even consoling her.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you think you're gonna be different? No. A guy like that will treat you exactly the same way. And I'm always friendships are more important than someone who doesn't treat you right. Like again, if you know he was a really good guy and they were in love, and he was like the best guy ever treated everyone like a princess. Maybe it would be a little bit different of a story, but it's still like you don't you just don't cross that line.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a lot.

SPEAKER_02

That's the big news of the week.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. And it is big.

A List Picks And What To Watch

SPEAKER_02

It is. Is it time for? A-list of the week. Oh, nice. A-list of the week. Well, I already said this earlier, but I do just want to reiterate Banner Pump au Paris.

SPEAKER_00

It was very cute. I walked by it, but we didn't go to it.

SPEAKER_02

Very cute. I will say that if you go, you need to get the appetizer that's like it's like a bread that has like cheese, like a g in it, and something stuffed cheese. I don't know. It was delicious. It was like a pull apart, like not a croissant per se, but a is it Parisian food? No, not really. I had like a lemon pasta with shrimp vibe. He had truffled something, something that came with like Mashed potatoes. I don't know. It wasn't, it was like, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Nice dinner food.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Steak, you can get shrimp, you can get whatever.

SPEAKER_00

So steakhouse vibes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Drink was great. Hell yeah. Vibes were great. I like. Oh my gosh. They're turning the Cromwell into Vanderpump Hotel.

SPEAKER_00

I saw that.

SPEAKER_02

She's crushing it.

SPEAKER_00

She really is. I don't love her interior design mock-ups, but it's very Lisa Vanderpump.

SPEAKER_02

But I love the restaurant.

SPEAKER_00

It's not that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

It's like big gold brass chairs and things.

SPEAKER_02

Would I like it?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. It is a little Midwest core.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. I need to look it up because I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like, you know, bejeweled chandeliers and oh no.

SPEAKER_02

I want it to look like the restaurants.

SPEAKER_00

It does not, in my opinion, did not look like that because that restaurant is aesthetic as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay. What's yours?

SPEAKER_00

What's mine?

SPEAKER_02

Your A-list.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

It's like my hotel? Um.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, that'd be a fun game. What would we how would we decorate a hotel?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Mine would just be filled with disco balls.

SPEAKER_02

Fun.

SPEAKER_00

Silver and disco balls.

SPEAKER_02

Mine would be boring. Mine would just be like monochromatic.

SPEAKER_00

But cozy somehow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, I feel like it would be like black and white. But like neon signs.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Sounds terrible.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I'm an interior. Sounds like a peer space.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

My list of the week is for everyone to please go watch and listen to the Gay and Trying podcast in the interim of our podcast because that's all I've been spending my time on.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

But it is out, and by the time this comes out, we'll have three episodes that will be out. Comes out on Thursdays, every Thursday.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, check it out. We're gay, we're trying.

Dino Time Birthdays And Goodbye

SPEAKER_02

You are. We don't have much in birthdays. Paul Rudd's 57. Do we care? Birthday. Hello? Barney and Friends premiered in 1992.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know that he's not real?

SPEAKER_02

Barney?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What does that mean?

SPEAKER_00

Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination.

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of dinosaurs, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I saw this girl on TikTok who, in an effort to like eat healthier and get like healthy fibers and stuff, and like not hate your life and eating. She has um started this thing called Dino Time.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Where she just takes a huge thing of lettuce and just stuffs it into her mouth. I think she does like spinach.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, very fast.

SPEAKER_02

Stuffs it into her mouth and chews it and eats it very fast before she eats another meal or before she starts cooking another meal or something so that she like gets that in instead of trying to incorporate it, like trying to having to eat a salad for every meal. She just like it takes her like a minute and a half to really chew it and swallow it. But she calls it dino time. It's so funny. I love that. I want to try, but I'm afraid I'm gonna gag. And I honestly hate if I did spinach, I hate all the stems, like I'd have to cut them all off. And it kind of defeats the quickness of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the whole point is like to get it in.

SPEAKER_02

She just like she just like grabs it, puts it in, and she has no time to think about it. Yeah. That reminded me of that. That's funny. And the song Fast Car uh came out in 1988.

SPEAKER_00

Fast Card?

SPEAKER_02

Fast Car. Yeah. That one. That one. Who's that? Tracy Chapman. Yeah, Tracy. Chap Chapman?

SPEAKER_00

Tracy Chapman.

SPEAKER_02

It's hard to say. Um that's all I got.

SPEAKER_00

That's all, folks.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like my medicine's really kicking in. Again, thank you guys so much. We are gonna go on a couple week hiatus, but don't worry. It's temporary. Alex is moving. Alex is getting a new setup. We're gonna revamp some things. We are going to, you know, come back refreshed.

SPEAKER_00

Refreshed and renewed.

SPEAKER_02

And please don't give up on us. Please don't go away.

SPEAKER_00

We'll be back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We love you so much.

SPEAKER_00

Have a great week.

SPEAKER_02

And go back and listen to other episodes if you are new here so that you don't miss a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Start from the beginning and you got quite a few.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay, bye.
