Nostalgic Millennial Music Video Edits
SPEAKER_00Here's what I have to say. I saw a comment. So listeners, viewers, I hope you're liking the content that we're putting out as millennials.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00These music videos. And the latest one to kind of pop off was the 18s one. And I saw a comment today that really Oh so first of all, I don't know if I've ever said on the pod officially why I really wanted to do this content. It's you did not. It's it is it is doing for me what I always wanted to do when I was a kid. It was like making these videos is like a very like low-lift version of what I was always picturing when I was making my cousins' dance. Yeah. And Chloe and I were like choreographing and performing. Like in my head, it is what we're doing. Like it was like music videos. Yeah. So I do think eventually it would be fun to take one and actually film it. Like still the same cut, so like a short 30 seconds, but like film it like a music video because it would be like a half-day shoot.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00And that would be really fun, I think, to do it like that. Like just like different locations and I like I was thinking like rent like a peer space for like 150 bucks that has like different sets and really just like actually film.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do like obviously we would go with multiple songs to make the use of it, but that would be I think that would be a cute way to plus it eventually. Anyway, so it fulfills that like it's like Alex doing what Alex always wanted to do when he was a kid, kind of a thing. Yeah. And then the other part is that when I see content that makes me feel nostalgic, I'm like, I love this. This is such a nice break in my feed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I wanted to serve that purpose for other me's out there. I didn't realize how many. I shouldn't have known. I mean, I obviously knew I'm not the only one, and you're not the only one that feels this way. But to have like an overwhelming amount of comments that are just always being like, Thank you so much. This is like took me right back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think like you had a vision of like something that no one else is doing, and I truly think because like people are dancing on TikTok or like whatever, but it is the quality and like the type of video. I've never seen anyone else do it. So like you had that vision, and you did for a long time before we even do it. You were like, I have this idea, yeah, I think it's gonna be like really good.
SPEAKER_00And we I was just like, okay, yeah, I didn't like really like see the vision, but you it's funny, it took me putting that light up at my last place for me to be like, that's what it is. It needed like a cool backdrop. Yeah, that's why I couldn't figure out.
SPEAKER_01But um Yeah, we've had people like from the actual groups, the groups comment and DM, and like that's been really cool. Yeah, because I'm sure those people sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off, but I'm sure those people like really appreciate, you know, yeah, when people acknowledge their music because if they are like a group that isn't together anymore or they haven't had music out in 20 years, like they're like, Oh, people still like us. Yeah, like I'm sure that's really nice.
SPEAKER_00100%. And it's it is which that just reminded me that I've also seen, I don't know if you've seen, there's quite a bit of comments of people being like, drop the playlist. And I was like, I should. We should make like a really good curated millennial playlist and share the playlist, and then it can be like the songs we've done and the songs that we're going to do, and people can kind of like hype or give suggestions.
SPEAKER_01It's like that's such a cool if like Spotify like made an official one with us because they they did that with us with the Fitness Marshall for a while. Yeah, like we had like the Fitness Marshall playlist or whatever, and it would be songs like ones that we have dances to and then a couple sprinkled in, like exactly what you're saying. So if anyone works at Spotify or Apple T Apple Music, we know.
SPEAKER_00I but then like someone made a comment today on the the 18s one that was so like I was like, Yes, he was like, they really do not make pop songs like this anymore that have like really no meaning, they're just like very surface level, but so fun feeling. Yeah, and he was like, Everything now is so sad and like heavy and but Max Martin is still making music. True.
SPEAKER_01So why isn't he not just replicating that?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, but it's honestly weird. Um like think about those lyrics upside down, bouncing off the screen.
SPEAKER_01You're telling me, because my vision, sorry, you're telling me that gnarly is better than upside down. Thank you very much. I need somebody with a human touch.
SPEAKER_00But like upside down is like bubblegum pop.
SPEAKER_01I did just mix two songs together.
SPEAKER_00I know what you were doing that. But you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but like that's that was my vision for Cat's Eye. Like, I really felt like when after I had seen them in Popstar Academy, they didn't have like a sound yet because they had really just been doing covers and stuff. Like in Popstar Academy, it was like all of them basically like learning covers. They had one song that was like their debut song, which is honestly my favorite song that they have.
SPEAKER_00Which one is it?
SPEAKER_01It's called Debut.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01But in my mind, like it felt like they were gonna be more like girl pop, girl pop, yeah, that vibe. And then they came out with gnarly and pinky up, which I think like I like Pinky Up, and I think it is a fun song. But gnarly is an insane song, yeah. That has no meaning, just like everything's gnarly, like, okay, cool. But in my mind, and I'm not hating because I'd really love those girls, yeah, love them. You loved them, but I really felt like that's the direction they were gonna go in, and it's just the opposite.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we just don't have that, but it is because it's like another one we're gonna be doing soon is CS Love V, and that one is the same. It's like the song is so sorry, say that again CS Love V. Love V Cies Say. Obviously, I know that that's what it's called. I don't know why I said that. It's spelled like CS. But why was I seeing it in my head? Like, I know the fucking thing.
SPEAKER_01Hey Lobby. Wow, it is confusing.
SPEAKER_00But anyway, that is another one that is like that. It's like, what is this song? Hey boy, sitting in a tree. Mommy always asks you to come for tea. Don't be shocked, straighten up your tight, get down from the tree house, hanging in the sky. I want to know just what you do. Is it very big? Is there room for two? I got a house with the windows and doors. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
SPEAKER_01Hey, why can't we they just make a song that makes sense that sounds like that? Like, why do we have to make it not make sense?
SPEAKER_00Right, right. I don't know, I don't know. But the point is, I'm loving this content we're doing. I'm excited how it's growing. And you're I don't know if you're noticing, like, I'm getting more like insane with the editing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's like jumping and zooming and turning. I did notice that, and I I like it. I really, you know, I really loved the power line eye to eye one.
SPEAKER_00Even though you and Angela didn't know, no, you knew the words. Angela didn't know a single word.
SPEAKER_01Angela didn't know the words because she doesn't know that that's the single best Disney song that's ever been made.
SPEAKER_00And like I feel bad for her.
SPEAKER_01She's really missing our and I said what I said on that. Oh, yeah. Some people think it's a whole new world. My boyfriend, it's eye to eye. It's eye-eye.
SPEAKER_00That one was so fun. I was a little like I felt like I maybe overwhelmed you guys with the last one because it was like it was the first time we did it in this new house, but it was very chaotic.
SPEAKER_01It was just like two songs that we both didn't know.
SPEAKER_00Because we did Eye to Eye, MmBop, MmBop, and Upside Down.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so yeah, I didn't know the ad libs on Umbop, I'm not gonna lie. I feel like I wasn't prepared because there was a lead-in.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, you yeah, there's a whole take of you being like, hold on, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I thought we were just starting when the chorus started, and you like kept the whole lead-in in and the vocals that go in the lead-in. And I've don't know that.
SPEAKER_00So that taught me two things. I I have been inconsistent with the cuts that I make. Yeah, because sometimes what happens is we are doing something really funny or like in time that I then am like, oh, this will be good to have before the song starts. Because we need a little lead-in time for the words.
SPEAKER_01Of course, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But then sometimes we don't. So I will cut stuff off and just jump right to it. And so what that what that made me realize is that's like, okay, from now on, what the whatever the cut is, just expect that that will be what we sing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when I listen to the cut, I just like was for I was not even paying attention to that.
SPEAKER_00Because it does feel like a long lead-in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. For the other song, I really didn't didn't know it very well.
SPEAKER_00Upside down, upside down.
SPEAKER_01It's okay, like because I do get it mixed up with the Spice Girls in my mind, it goes upside down. Thank you very much. I mean like I don't know my mind. My all of these years, my brain has put those two songs together.
SPEAKER_00Um, no, but this is why we record it at least four times because there's always somewhere to jump to. But I will also have to give credit to you because when I had the vision for this, I did not know yet, remember, like what was gonna be on the screen. I just knew what I want it to be, and I was spitballing with a lot of things, but you were the one that was like millennials when this song comes on. And I was like, that's it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because that is really relatable and people I gotta that's what gets people to stay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We've tried a few different ones a couple times, but it always comes back to that one. It's just like it works the best. Yeah. I do think eventually we have to do the Celine one again because I don't know if you've seen it recently, but it it has like resurgences every couple weeks. The comments are all the same now, and it's like, um, why did you guys cut it off? You should have gone to the very end because it has like such an epic ending. Okay. But I was like, okay, then maybe we shift and just do it.
SPEAKER_01Maybe we're just like um we we couldn't stay away vibes. Yeah. Just like reply as like a yes. That'd be fun.
SPEAKER_00It's like I love that that it was good that that one was the one that popped off first too, because it gave me the proof of concept. Yeah. It's like I knew it was gonna work.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you were like, you guys, I told you.
SPEAKER_00I was like, I knew it was gonna work, but it had to be like if it didn't work on the first one, I think it would have been a little harder for me to even like figure out how to keep going.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Also, block shooting, what a game changer. Holy crap.
SPEAKER_01That's what we used to do before I moved here, and it was that was a nightmare, but that was it's a more involved.
SPEAKER_00Chad um boyfriend after you guys left, he was like, You weren't kidding, you guys are so fast. I was like, Yeah. Well, I know you told me, but I I'm still thinking they'll be here for hours. It's like, no, it's no pretty well-oiled machine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it is. Well, good job. Anyway, we never did the intro, so let's do that.
Big Bear Drive And Travel Rules
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to the A-list podcast with Allison and Alex.
SPEAKER_01I'm Allison, he's Alex.
SPEAKER_00And we are currently at as you're listening to this, probably a little tired driving back from Big Bear.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I wish it was like a little closer. Because when you like leave, it's just like oh, it's a daunting. I know, it is.
SPEAKER_00It is, it is.
SPEAKER_01When you're going, you're excited. You're like, oh, it's pretty. I guess if it's like winter time and you're yeah, like worried about the snow, it's a little bit more stressful. But at this time of year, it's like, oh, we're going to the mountains and it's pretty view and it's like exciting. But then when you leave, you're like, oh, I have to drive this far.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the drive back is the worst. I will say I'm glad. So you know my rule with traveling. It's like if it's a vacation, five days minimum. I don't think I'd knew this. If it's a trip, three, three. It's like sorry, three nights. Okay. Because, in my opinion, so we uh last week I told you guys, but we went to Pal my boyfriend and I went to Palm Springs for our anniversary, and this has been my thing that I've been telling you. He likes to do two night things, in and out kind of guy. But I've always gave the argument that like two full days somewhere really makes it feel worth it when it's quick trips, Palm Springs, yeah, big bear, something around, not as not like flying, yeah. But to be able to like, because by the time you get somewhere, you're settling in, then you have a your first full day. And if you're only there for a two-nighter, that's your last day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you have to pack everything up again.
SPEAKER_00But like two full days feels so nice, and that is what we're doing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But if you only have two days, like it is worth it.
SPEAKER_00If you have only two days, it's better than not to be able to do that. The alternative is not, yeah. Correct. Speaking of boyfriend, is he arriving? Sounds like is it turbo engine? Um so yeah, we are coming back. The drive is a little annoying, but hopefully we're full on pancakes and the drive is not that bad right now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um I don't know what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_00What's new with you?
SPEAKER_01What's new with me?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what's been
World Cup Crowds Meet NBA Finals
SPEAKER_00going on with you? Like, you're are you back in sports right now? Are you following soccer?
SPEAKER_01I have been watching some of the World Cup games. I guess I didn't talk about so I had a miserable like time kind of when the World Cup started because it was also the uh championship of the NBA finals.
SPEAKER_00And I just the Knicks won, and this is good news for you.
SPEAKER_01Yes, you have to for Josh, yeah. So we were going to a bar to watch the Knicks game, and in my mind, I was like, I'm gonna get a nice little seat at a table, I'm gonna like, you know, have some chips and salsa, have a couple drinks, watch the game. No, we arrived. It was the same day that one of the new like first World Cup games was happening. It was like Brazil versus someone.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01The I've never seen a more packed bar in my life.
SPEAKER_00I didn't know soccer was the most watched sport in the world.
SPEAKER_01I think I could have guessed that just because, like, so many other countries, like that's their main sport. But so then we're there and we're like, okay, the game's almost over. Like a bunch of these people are probably gonna get up and leave, and then we can get a seat. And we're standing there, and Josh was like, Oh, I talked to this guy that's watching the game, like he's gonna give us his seat when we when he's done. So we're like, Okay, we have somewhere to sit. Yeah, it wasn't an ideal, it was more like a bench. Since she was but it was still a seat. Okay, and so the game is over, and like I see the guys, like they're preparing to stand. I was like, Go over there. He goes over there, and at I'm not kidding, as these men are standing up, there is already a little person that has like basically slithered under them. Like there's their asses are like not even off of the thing yet, basically. And then Josh is like, Oh, um, these guys were giving us their seats, and they were just like, sorry, we're with our friends right there. Stop! And he's standing there, like, yeah, but what? Like they were giving us their seat, and they were kind of just look looking at him like too snoozy loose kind of vibe. And their friend, their whole friend group was like taking up this entire thing, and I was just like, You guys, it wasn't silver like, it was like a certain kind you there was a girl wearing a blazer watching a basketball game. Like, get out of my face. Yeah, you better go put a t-shirt on. You're wearing a blazer.
SPEAKER_00No, at this bar, at this hipsters overrated bar, there was two sports games happening.
SPEAKER_01Well, one ended and then one began. So I actually like this bar. It's nothing, the bar is a little like not um set up well for like a big sports games. It's like got like a bench on one side, but then the other side are kind of like U-shaped, and then there's like it's just like not really set up amazing.
SPEAKER_00Sweet, were you there at the end of the soccer beginning? Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01So in our minds, but no, people had like were like, we're posted up here all day. We're watching both things.
SPEAKER_00Uh people care about both things. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Which, like, yeah, because Brazil, like, there are some big players, like big well-known, like Messi Ronaldo, oh I think your name is.
SPEAKER_00I think your nephew's very excited right now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. So anyway, that was uh so then sorry, had to stand for the whole basketball game. I my feet and knees the entire game, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No fucking win.
SPEAKER_01No one ever got up. Like I'm so serious. The a nice lady in front of me let us put our drinks on the little stool that was in front of the bench so we could have somewhere to set our drinks down. But like we fully I don't know, three hours.
SPEAKER_00I cannot believe you like sports that much. I would have been out of there.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it meant a lot to him. So, like, and and once the game started, I was like, because I was in a terrible mood because I was just I was so anxious. I I'm not kidding. It was this was a fire code hazard. I said I turned to him. I was like, how many people do you think are in here? What do you think the capacity is? He was like, Oh, this is they could get shut down very quickly, over capacity, yeah, for sure. And so I walked in immediately. My anxiety was through the roof. I couldn't imagine you could not walk anywhere without running, like brushing up against someone, run someone running into you, someone saying, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. Like it was constant. And I so anxiety was on 10. But then once the game started, like I had a good time and it was it was an exciting game. It was very like so like I was I had a good time. I was happy for him than the next one. Upset that last year I didn't have the same thing happen for me.
SPEAKER_00I know, yes. Anyway, I don't know where I was going with this, but you were telling me about your sort of bad time during the beginning of soccer.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So then now the games, if a game is on, I've been watching it.
SPEAKER_00Um is America play?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we actually are doing better than I think people thought we were.
SPEAKER_00Where's our team located?
SPEAKER_01So all the games happen, there's a bunch of different cities they're happening in and they're traveling.
SPEAKER_00So hold on,
World Cup Format Explained Simply
SPEAKER_00hold on, hold on. This is the World Cup. So, like, is it a situation where like all the teams in America pick their star players to come together to be the American team?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah, and that's where Christian who's on our team that we would know.
SPEAKER_01We're actually playing right now. We're playing Turkey right now.
SPEAKER_00David Beckham was on for us once, right?
SPEAKER_01He played for the galaxy like after he his like Premier League career ended, but he would have been playing for like England.
SPEAKER_00Oh, because he's English, right?
SPEAKER_01So the women's soccer team for us, they are incredible. They have won so many years, the entire World Cup. Like they're they've always been so good. Like our women's team has been always like sick.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01Um, but the men's team usually doesn't do that well, from what I know. Current men's national team roster. Here's what they look like.
SPEAKER_00Cute.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we got some cuties.
SPEAKER_00Terrible uniforms. Wow. Yeah. Terrible.
SPEAKER_01Um, so yeah, but it's all it's like North America. So there's teams in there's games happening in Mexico, there's games happening in Canada too.
SPEAKER_00Like is it like a Jersey pyramid situation?
SPEAKER_01You're eliminated by Yeah, there so there's a there's rounds, there's two rounds. There's like a group round where there's like a five teams, six teams, I don't know, and they all play each other and there's no stakes. Like they all are like guaranteed a certain amount of games within that. And then however much many points you have, based on like when you win, you get a certain amount of points. If you tie, I think if you win, you get two points. If you tie, you get one point, if you lose, you get zero points. So at the end of that group stage, however many points you have, then that you can qualify to go on to the next round, which would be a bracket and a knockout. So you play a game, if you lose, you're out.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So the standings are right now the World Cup or sorry, Mexico is in first place, then South Africa, then South Korea.
SPEAKER_00But this is done by the time this episode is out, right?
SPEAKER_01Is it? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_00How is the World Cup a year long?
SPEAKER_01No, but it's like weeks.
SPEAKER_00Wow, it's like the Olympics, huh?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. If it is done, I guess we'll know. But and I'm not at a I'm not an expert. That's just a high level, like I guess. And I might have said something wrong, but anyway. Um, something else I was going to say.
Dodgeball Loyalty And Pickleball Curiosity
SPEAKER_01Tell me. Oh, dodgeball will be starting soon. I am gonna play in summer. I was the same team.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's the same people.
SPEAKER_01Um a lot of there's a handful of people that aren't are taking this season off. Same leader. Um, I was not going to. I literally waited until the very last day that I could like pay. Yeah. Because I just like didn't know. But I was like, uh, it's something to do. It's still like a form of exercise, like move my body in some way.
SPEAKER_00So is Josh doing it? It's still baseball season.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So no to that.
SPEAKER_00Well, it is funny because two years ago today, I was given the memory of the time I hosted a barbecue at my place, and it was the night that I announced I was joining Dodgeball, and then everyone else joined.
SPEAKER_01And then you quit on us.
SPEAKER_00The gays are too caddy for me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But funny that that was two years ago. So you might as well. What's coming up then would be your two-year anniversary of playing.
SPEAKER_01Wow. It seems like I've always played.
SPEAKER_00You've jumped around.
SPEAKER_01I actually kind of w want to like maybe transition to volleyball.
SPEAKER_00Cute. I like that.
SPEAKER_01But I do like now you know I have like change issues. And like now that I've like been in on this team and played with these people, I feel like Your loyalty. Yeah, what? I'm too loyal. I know. Like what? I'm just gonna leave.
SPEAKER_00Boyfriend and I are thinking of Uh taking a pickleball.
SPEAKER_01You should.
SPEAKER_00Feels like the gay thing to do.
SPEAKER_01It's like it feels like an everything. Everyone's playing pickleball. Yeah. I actually have never played.
SPEAKER_00Me either.
SPEAKER_01But I I hear that it's like a relatively easy thing to pick up.
SPEAKER_00I've heard the same.
SPEAKER_01So you should.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna try.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so that's what I've been doing.
SPEAKER_00A lot of sports things happening.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I feel like there might be something else I'm not thinking of. Maybe it'll come to me.
Brown Water Text That Sounds AI
SPEAKER_01But oh my gosh, I have to tell you something so funny that my l landlords are interesting. Well, not really landlord, apartment manager. Okay. She's like an interesting lady. If you watch this, shout out to you. But the other day, it was just she responded to me in such a funny way that I didn't know what to say. Oh my god, I love it. I'm gonna read it to you.
SPEAKER_00Okay, thank you. Did you hit her up first?
SPEAKER_01I did because well, no, I didn't. I was a going to because there was one night that my kitchen sink water was just brown. And like I went to go fill up my water filter thing and I noticed that it was brown. And I was like, hmm, this is interesting. And it was like late at night. So I was just like, I'll text my apartment manager in the morning and just like be like, hey, heads up, because it they had not turned the water off that day. They had been working on the water like earlier in the week, but the water had been fine for days. So I was like, it's weird because they weren't working on it. So I feel like, is there a leak? Is there like maybe something is wrong? And so I was just gonna be like, hey, this is happening. Like, I don't know what steps you need to take. Maybe you need to contact the like department of water. I was just trying to like heads up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I she then sent a text and was like, hey, good morning. Like the water is scheduled to be shut off tomorrow for repairs and stuff. So I was like, okay, someone else maybe had an issue. So I just replied, I was like, okay, thanks. Yeah, I was gonna text you because the water was brown last night. And then I see her typing and then it goes away. And then this is the response I got. Good morning, Allison. Brown water is caused by rust and sediment being stirred up in the water lines after a water shutoff. While it can be alarming, it is not the cause of the plumbing issue you're experiencing. The recommended remedy is to simply run the water for a few minutes until it clears.
SPEAKER_00Great.
SPEAKER_01Nothing else. I was, and I just didn't respond because I was like, what? Obviously, I let the water run for a while.
SPEAKER_00Right. You're like, Brown, well.
SPEAKER_01What yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, gosh.
SPEAKER_01I was like, what in a weird feels like a chat GPT reply. Yeah. Weird response. That's right. I was like, okay, thanks.
unknownGreat.
SPEAKER_01It was so strong.
SPEAKER_00Is it nice and clear now? It is.
SPEAKER_01But it was just, I just was like, what is this response?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of chat GPT, but not.
Government Alien Files And UAP Sightings
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Are you aware of the alien situation?
SPEAKER_00Which one?
SPEAKER_01That the Department of War like website released. Have you seen this?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01So I didn't know about it, but there was one day a few weeks ago where Caleb or yeah, a few weeks ago, Caleb was like on one. He was like, why is no one talking about the aliens? Why is no one talking about the these documents that were released? And I was like, I don't know what you're talking about. Then he sent us a bunch of things. And first of all, if you click on this website, this is war.gov, by the way. Okay. This website looks like a conspiracy theory website. Look at the font they're using.
SPEAKER_00This is official black backdrop white letter.
SPEAKER_01This is an official government website.
SPEAKER_00Ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01For the Department of War, also known as the what? What what did it used to be?
SPEAKER_00The Department of War?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that is a new thing. That wasn't a thing.
SPEAKER_00That is a Oh, I didn't know that. Yes, I did.
SPEAKER_01Formerly Department of What was it called before? Like now I can't even Department of Defense.
SPEAKER_00Oh, right, right, right, right. Yes.
SPEAKER_01First of all, what is the why did we need the change?
SPEAKER_00Talk to the talk to the man.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, so there is all these files that the Department of War, the FBI, the CIA, like all released and unsealed these records of alien.
SPEAKER_00Okay, this I know about.
SPEAKER_01Okay. But have you like looked through them, read through them, seen the pictures? No. Okay. But there's just like not a lot of context. A lot of it is redacted. Like this one just says secret 1949. How do we know what that is or means? Right. It says like, um Yeah, there's nothing on this. Like, what does that mean? That's just a paper that says 1949. I could have written that yesterday.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01But then a lot of it is redacted.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. But I was gonna read one of them that isn't. This picture Caleb sent to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And he was like, no one's talking about this. And I was like, Caleb, don't believe everything you see. And then he like texts back a few minutes later and he was like, Okay, just kidding, this is an interpretation of a sighting. I was like, Yeah, okay. This is not a real photo, yeah. This is an interpretation. Yeah. Someone drew this. But anyway, so um, which is crazy because this picture, if you guys haven't seen it, you can go look at war.gov, but it's like a mountain range, and then there's like a a white looks like a jellyfish. Yeah, like it doesn't look like a cloud, it's like a was uh a baked potato, basically. A white baked potato just like floating in the air. And there was one time in Palm Springs, which Palm Springs is like pretty alien vibes, yeah, it is. And there was Haley and I were driving somewhere, and we looked at the mountains, and I'm so deadass right now. We looked at the mountains, and there was a big shadow on the mountain, like it was like sunny everywhere else. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, blue sky, not a single cloud. There is just a a portion of the mountain that had a shadow on it, and there was nothing that there could be a shadow of. Like it was we're looking at the mountain and it was above it, so it wasn't like we're looking from the side, and there was light on all the around it, like and we're looking, we both were like didn't say anything, and then we looked at each other and we're like, Do you see that? Like, that's weird, right?
SPEAKER_00And then we just like had to go on with our lives, but so that's what happens because I also had a sighting like in 20, I want to say it was like 2014, 2015, with two other people in the car. We all saw it. It was these two lights, like we were at a stoplight, and they were they like it was before like a well, even if it wasn't a drone because I don't they weren't quite popular yet, but also it was two lights that came in super fast. They spun like this and then they went away.
SPEAKER_01What year would you say this was?
SPEAKER_00We were literally all like what the f yeah was that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, yeah, I don't know. There's a bunch of these um like little documents in here, and like this one says everything's redacted, but this is from February 2026, and it's someone did an interview where they said they returned home approximately 9:15, uh, pulled into the driveway, which slopes downhill towards their residence. Notice an intense bright light hovering below the tree line in the middle of their backyard, got out of the vehicle and stared at the strange light for a few moments before reaching back into the vehicle to retrieve phone so they could take a video. At the same time, redacted was sitting inside expecting to arrive home, checked security camera and saw standing next to the vehicle looking at the backyard, then went outside to join to see what they were looking at. Described the light as a red sphere that was about a meter in diameter, described the red color as being brilliant and beautiful. Okay, had never seen anything of that color red before, stated the inside of the red sphere at the center, there appeared to be what described a white plasma sun about the size of a basketball. As they watched the orb UAP, which is the new UFO, moved up to their left. Then they noticed there was a second identical orb hovering hovering above. Okay, that's all of that.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01And then there's another this one says Umtice through the windshield there was a yellow ball of light that was yellow about the size of a basketball. Upon exiting the vehicle, saw a second ball of light, which was larger and about the size of a beach ball. The objects were behind a row of trees which have since been taken down in front of the section of trees between the property. Uh upon seeing the lights, came outside to view the objects. They viewed them move laterally to their left, passing through a passing behind a tree at the same height before disappearing. Oof. Yeah, so it's like one crazy that they're just like, here's here's the information. And two, what are we doing about it? That's what I want to know. Is it just, hey, we're just letting you know it exists, like we don't have a plan, or is it like I don't think it's threatening.
SPEAKER_00I think the grander, more con like the the things that I'm seeing are like whatever it is that's like bigger and smarter than us is keeping us from destroying ourselves, actually.
SPEAKER_01How so?
SPEAKER_00This isn't really the podcast for it, but oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01I know this isn't like conspiracy theory pod. I know it's just like this It is all over the feeds, you're right. Because it is all over the feeds, and it is like a lot of videos I see I just write off as like someone trying to get views, so I guess like pop culturally, that's how I've always viewed anyone that's like the government's releasing alien files. Like, I just was like, it's not that cannot be a real thing, it's just clickbait basically.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But the fact that they have like made this government website look all conspiracy theoried out, and yeah, it is super like it that makes it feel not real. Like, why are you like making it look creepy?
SPEAKER_00Maybe they do that on purpose because it feels fake then.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know. I'm just like, what is going on?
SPEAKER_00I know. I mean, I don't know, but I know what you mean.
SPEAKER_01And I hope they're like nice. Yeah. Anyway, that is what's on been on my feed and my algorithm.
SPEAKER_00Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh, what else?
Falling In The Shower Without Injury
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, I fell in the shower.
SPEAKER_00How and how?
SPEAKER_01I so I've Are you dancing?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01I think it's because I've been using this like new like moisturizer thing. Like once you it's basically like you once you are done with your shower, you turn off the water, and then it's kind of sort of like an oil gel situation that you just kind of like put on your moist body. Yeah. But it's not like it's not being rinsed, so it's not really on the bottom of the shower because I'm not putting it on the bottom of my feet. Oh, right. I'm not even putting it on my feet, like I kind of stop at my ankle because then I put lotion on my feet like after. Yeah. So I just was like about to step out, and then I was gonna do something else, and so I kind of turned, and then I just literally fell and like slid down the wall and down. And I just laid there for a second. I was like, this is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me. I'm home alone, but I'm still embarrassed. This is crazy. Yeah, luckily I wasn't injured.
SPEAKER_00I was gonna say, were you okay?
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah, I was fine. I was just like embarrassed. You'll hurt a little bit. I my back was like scratched because my wall has like grout, you know, so it's like a little bit of a rough like lines.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So for a few days my back was like red and scratched, but I was so dumb.
SPEAKER_00That is funny.
SPEAKER_01I was like, I'm embarrassed.
World Chocolate Day Favorite Picks
SPEAKER_01Do you know what today is?
SPEAKER_00What is today?
SPEAKER_01World chocolate day.
SPEAKER_00What's your favorite chocolate?
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, that's a broad, you have to narrow it down. We have to talk about different things.
SPEAKER_00Wait, what do you mean? Like, what's your favorite dark chocolate?
SPEAKER_01No, like chocolate item. Like if it's like if we're talking about a candy bar, a chocolate bar.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what's your favorite chocolate?
SPEAKER_01That's different than I would say my favorite chocolate bar. Hmm.
SPEAKER_00Kit Kat. Is that a chocolate bar?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Mine's Kit Kat.
SPEAKER_01I would say Twix if I have like I'm thinking like purely chocolate because I do love, ooh, I love an almond joy. Ooh, those are my top. That would be my top two, I think.
SPEAKER_00An almond joy? You know what's funny though? Like, I don't like that, but I love a payday.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was like, I was thinking like, oh, does that doesn't have chocolate? That's all peanut butter caramel, right?
SPEAKER_00It's peanuts and caramel, saltiest, yummiest peanuts in the city.
SPEAKER_01What's the one that is that has like white chocolate, but it also has like peanuts and things? White hundred grand? No.
SPEAKER_00No, 100 grand is good though. It's like rice krispies.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what is my thinking of?
SPEAKER_00Are you thinking of the one with coconut? It's like the sister of an almond joy.
SPEAKER_01No. I feel like it has like a lot of stuff in it. It doesn't matter. I think it it doesn't matter really.
SPEAKER_00But remember Take Fives? I haven't seen those around in a while.
SPEAKER_01I don't think I liked those.
SPEAKER_00Pretzels.
SPEAKER_01I feel like you liked it just because it sounded like jump five.
SPEAKER_00You're right.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so that was chocolate bar, chocolate chip cookie.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Yes. Uh peanut butter MMs. I know you like the peanut. Am I wrong?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, I'm right.
SPEAKER_01Chocolate-covered strawberries.
SPEAKER_00Decent.
SPEAKER_01You don't like?
SPEAKER_00I like those Brookhouse chocolate-covered like goji berry things. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know what I'm talking about? Yes, but I'm thinking of the ones that are like freeze-dried. True fruit true fruit. Oh, you worked for them, didn't you?
SPEAKER_00I sure did.
SPEAKER_01I love a true fruit. I actually buy the chocolate-covered strawberries often to have in my freezer. Because you know, you pull you pull two out.
SPEAKER_00It's like a nice, like little the frozen, like you buy the frozen ones, right? Is that what you're doing? Or you buy the not frozen ones.
SPEAKER_01No, I buy the frozen ones normally, yeah.
SPEAKER_00The when I worked for them, all we were sampling was the chocolate-covered raspberries. They are good.
SPEAKER_01They are good. The blueberries are fine too, but I think the strawberries for me are like the best. Yeah. It's also International Kissing Day.
Birds Freak Us Out And Why
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna be doing a lot of that.
SPEAKER_01What kind of kisses do you like?
unknownI'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_00What's your favorite kind of kiss?
SPEAKER_01What's your favorite kiss? Um, a forehead. I'm just kidding. Oh, that's cute. Those are cute.
SPEAKER_00I like a butterfly kiss.
SPEAKER_01Ew. Girl Rose.
SPEAKER_00Put your eyelashes close to my face.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Not butterflies, but birds. You know how I hate birds.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. How do they kiss?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I don't want to, I don't want to know, but Trixie Mattel has been on this campaign to try to get people to think birds are cool.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Have you not seen any of these videos? Do you follow? Yeah. Okay. So Brian has really been pushing the bird agenda and is like these really cool stories about birds and like how these birds can like someone taught them how to like call FaceTime each other and they like made friends and like showed each other things on the FaceTime. Crows? No, they I don't know what kind of birds they were. Okay. Which, like, in theory is cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_01But I am so weirded out by birds.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you don't like birds.
SPEAKER_01And then he just, my eyes were watering thinking about it. Then he I just saw another video of him talking about how he was like, I know you like all these comments, like telling me I'm weird talking about the birds, but I'm gonna tell you more. And then it was about this like book he read of this lady who had like her a bird friend, and she like taught it to do a bunch of things, and it like learned how to look in the mirror and like asked her what color he was, and it was a gray parrot or something. It was like, what color am I? Which it is cool, like sure, but also wow, putting it aside, it's like sure, an animal like being that intelligent is like objectively interesting and cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But the fact that it's a bird, really they are sinister to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, they're rough.
SPEAKER_01And I know someone out there probably has a pet bird, and I am so happy that you're happy.
SPEAKER_00Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_01But there is just something about them that like actually make my skin crawl and freak me out.
SPEAKER_00And I get it, a lot of people feel that way.
SPEAKER_01I don't
The Dolphin Research Story Gets Dark
SPEAKER_01know what it is. It's also like that lady who was like training the dolphins, and then the dolphin like fell in love with her. Like, that also I can't think about that story either.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's a lot.
SPEAKER_01Do you know what I'm talking about? No, and that sounds terrible.
SPEAKER_00Did it rape her?
SPEAKER_01Well, they do.
SPEAKER_00I know they have rape caves.
SPEAKER_01What it I feel like it was on an episode of Drunk History.
SPEAKER_00Oh, funny. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Do you know what I'm talking about? No, drunk history dolphin. Have you ever swam with dolphins?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01I did too. I thought it was a fine experience, but mine was not. Oh no, I'm so sorry. Do you want to tell about tell me about it?
SPEAKER_00No, it was just like I shouldn't have supported it. It was like in the middle, like landlocked area in a tiny, like oh, I mean, yeah, it was forever ago.
SPEAKER_01It was like one of those, like, you know, vacations when I was like in eighth grade or whatever, but which, like, you know, you live and you learn.
SPEAKER_00Truly. To take one step at a time.
SPEAKER_01Okay. AI, the AI review on Google is telling me the drunk history segment you're referring to is titled The Study That Involved Dolphin Sex and LSD. Um, it recounts a bizarre 1960s NASA-funded research into human-dolphin communication led by Dr. John Lilly. The experiment believed that if humans could communicate with dolphins, it could give us a framework for talking to aliens.
SPEAKER_00Interesting. It all comes back to aliens.
SPEAKER_01The government even brought in an astronomer astronomer to help design ways to teach dolphins English. Hoping to boost communication and mimic human speech, Lily and the team administered acid to both researchers and the dolphin. So they were just high.
SPEAKER_00Together.
SPEAKER_01Together, which hate that.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01A volunteer named Margaret lived with a dolphin named Peter for six months in a flooded facility in the Virgin Islands. The goal was to have Peter mimic her human speech. Peter developed an obsessive romantic attachment to Margaret and became frustrated when his training sessions interfered with his infatuation. To keep the dolphin cooperative, Margaret provided manual. Nope. Never mind.
SPEAKER_00I know exactly what you were gonna say. Ew.
SPEAKER_01Never mind. I'm clicking out. That's why I am remembering that it freaked me out much as the birds freak me out.
SPEAKER_00She was getting the dolphin off.
SPEAKER_01Stop. Didn't need you to say that.
SPEAKER_00It's just in case you guys were trying to put pieces together.
SPEAKER_01They got it.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01On okay, we have to do it.
SPEAKER_00He's being really we have to pivot.
SPEAKER_01We have to pivot. That is I'm drawing a line.
SPEAKER_00What's your A-list
A-List Of The Week Steak
SPEAKER_00of the week? Yeah, please.
SPEAKER_01It's time for A-list of the week. Oh my god. Steak. I've been loving steak.
SPEAKER_00Allison.
SPEAKER_01Were you gonna say that?
SPEAKER_00Steak was on my list of things to talk about. But I will use it as my A-list. Okay. But you finish.
SPEAKER_01No, I as a girl who has a monthly menstruation cycle.
SPEAKER_00You do.
SPEAKER_01Is that how you say it?
SPEAKER_00Except for the months you're pregnant.
SPEAKER_01Except. Um, you know, we need to keep our iron up.
SPEAKER_00You do.
SPEAKER_01And when I got blood work last year, she did tell me like that I need to. I did need to like get more iron, whether it was through red meat or like supplements. And did I really do that very diligently? No. But all of a sudden recently I have been like, I have to have steak right now.
SPEAKER_00Wow. I don't usually go for steak because I am worried of choking. But babe loves steak. Babe made steak.
SPEAKER_01What would be the difference between chicken?
SPEAKER_00Steak is like rubbery, so like sometimes I'll try to swallow it and then I'll like shoot back out. I don't know. It's an anxiety thing, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_01That's right, that's fair, that's fair.
SPEAKER_00But babe loves steak and he made Does he know uh the Heimlich? He does. Okay, good. He made a steak Caesar, homemade steak Caesar salad that was unreal with like a skirt steak that he like just made fresh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. A little chimichuri.
SPEAKER_00No, I can't do chimichurri. It's too spicy for me.
SPEAKER_01Is it spicy?
SPEAKER_00And now I'm salivating that with it. It is. All the chimichurries I've had are always spicy.
SPEAKER_01Well, we ordered from Bossa Nova. Have you ever had that? And I really wanted the Pau de Quejo. Is that what it's called?
SPEAKER_00Sounded real fancy to me.
SPEAKER_01It's a Brazilian um like cheese ball. It's made with like some sort of flour.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01It's so delicious. And so I was like, I want steak and I want the cheese ball and I need it now. So we ordered that the other night, and that was delish.
SPEAKER_00How do you get your steak?
SPEAKER_01How do you order your steak?
SPEAKER_00I don't like there to be blood, so I'm a non-purist, but he made it, he made it, he likes medium rare.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so he did medium.
SPEAKER_00So he did medium to meet me in the middle.
SPEAKER_01I do mind medium.
SPEAKER_00And that was fine. It was pretty good.
SPEAKER_01It has to have a little juiciness. Like it cannot be like dry AF.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You gotta grow up on that one.
SPEAKER_00You're right.
SPEAKER_01Well, those are good. That's a good A-list. And crazy that we both were thinking about steak.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I could have steak right now at TBH.
SPEAKER_01Well.
SPEAKER_00See what Daddy brought home.
SPEAKER_01All right, everyone. Well, thank you so much for listening and watching.
SPEAKER_00And remember, we love you.
SPEAKER_01We love you so much.
SPEAKER_00Have a great week.
SPEAKER_01Bye.
