S3E28: Keeping Your Word When It's Hard (Matthew 5:31-37)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
"On my way!" — and you were still standing in the bathroom deciding on a shirt. We've all done it. Somewhere along the way, "I promise" stopped meaning much of anything, and we started needing bigger words just to be believed.
This week we're in Matthew 5:31-37, where Jesus deals with two things that sound unrelated at first — divorce and oath-swearing — and shows us the same problem underneath both: people following the rules on paper while missing the point completely. Then He says something so simple it's almost funny: just say yes or no, and mean it.
No shame, no lecture — just an honest, porch-swing conversation about what it actually costs to be somebody whose word means something again.
