Barry has been with University of Arizona for over ten years in finance and technology leadership roles and was appointed CIO in April 2018. He has over 20 years of experience consulting with universities across the country, including leadership of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Intelligence implementations. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Episode 22: Tim Nitz
Barry's guest in this episode is Tim Nitz. Tim is the Assistant Director of Campus IT Partnerships, managing a team of Senior Implementation Analysts, supporting campus-wide IT improvement initiatives that impact tens of thousands of users. In 2021 he won the University of Arizona Team Award for Excellence for his work building information systems and processes that helped keep the University operational during the COVID crisis. His passion is creating order out of chaos, improving the lives of end users, and creating well-oiled solutions that increase quality, lower costs, improve efficiency, and make all stakeholders happier. Tim developed, owned and operated a Web-based music store in 1995 when the Web was in its infancy, and have been deeply involved in improving IT and managing IT teams since that time.
