(Replay of Episode 2). In this episode I discuss The Adult Chair® Model, a framework integral to my work as a life & emotional wellness coach, as well as a guide I use to educate people through this podcast.
This episode provides a comprehensive introduction to The Adult Chair® Model to help establish context for the work I do with clients and the aim of this podcast - to help people connect to their authentic self.
The Adult Chair® Model, crafted by Michelle Chalfant, is a framework where simple psychology meets grounded spirituality. It’s a tool to help process emotions, identify unconscious beliefs and understand the different parts of yourself.
I begin by sharing my personal story about how I found this methodology and how it changed my life. Then, I explain the Three Chairs: The Child Chair, The Adolescent Chair and The Adult Chair.
Next, I explain and provide examples of how each chair serves as a unique phase of your life story.
You can expect more in-depth discussions about how to use this model and the tools in future episodes. If this approach resonates with you, let's connect - click the link below and book a free consultation session.
Thank you for tuning in, please Like, Subscribe and leave a rating on Apple Podcasts to help my podcast get discovered by like-minded people. See you next week!

Trauma-informed somatic healing meditations offer a transformative path to reconnecting with the body and fostering deep emotional healing. In this episode, I’m joined by Trauma-Informed Emotional Healing Coach Karena Neukirchner from Hello Inner Light, to discuss the power of somatic healing meditations. On the path to emotional healing, somatic techniques help us reconnect with our bodies in ways that foster deep, lasting change. Unlike traditional therapeutic methods that tend to focus mainly on cognitive processes, somatic healing taps into the body’s wisdom, allowing us to process emotions and experiences at a cellular level. Karena shares insights into how tuning into the body can gently guide us through emotional pain, releasing stored trauma, and grounding us in the present. This episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking a holistic approach to healing that honors both mind and body.

This episode discusses the intricate relationship between ego, identity, and the importance of taking breaks.
As a life coach, I specialize in guiding individuals through a journey of exploring their past, to change unhealthy hidden beliefs, and ultimately transform their life. Using The Adult Chair® Model, we uncover the depths of one's past experiences to better understand the present. A crucial aspect of this process is understanding the significance of the ego, particularly during the formative years of adolescence.
During this critical period of development, spanning from ages seven to 24, individuals grapple with establishing their identity and sense of belonging. They often resort to constructing masks or personas to fit in and navigate their environments. These characters—whether the avoidant, people pleaser, fixer, perfectionist, or controller—are deeply ingrained and shaped by the adolescent psyche.
In adulthood, these personas can resurface, hindering our ability to slow down and take necessary breaks. They manifest through ingrained patterns of behavior, such as constant busyness or an inability to prioritize self-care. Recognizing these adolescent characters is vital to overcoming their influence and embracing our adult selves.
Join me in the journey of self-discovery and transformation the Self Check-In Challenge. taking just 60 seconds, we can initiate profound shifts in our lives and legacies. Share this episode with others on their path to self-realization, and together, let's rewrite our narratives, one person and 60 seconds at a time.
In this episode, we cover:
[00:01:56] The Adolescent Chair and ego.
[00:07:05] Characters adolescents create.
[00:10:39] Different adolescent character types.
[00:13:09] Adolescent decision-making and emotions.
[00:17:14] Adolescent characters resurfacing as adults.
[00:21:30] Exploring your past for present transformation.

One of the best forms of self-love I practice that has transformed my life is connecting to my emotions and identifying my needs.
In this episode I share why it's important to connect to your emotions and the insightful revelations that come with emotional intelligence.
Like so many, I lived disconnected from my emotions for many years. Then one day a friend asked me, "How are you feeling?" and I struggled to answer the question. But, it was just the question I needed to begin exploring my emotional disconnects.
In this episode I share 5-easy steps you can use to transform your emotions and understand my needs.
My clients use these tools and have discovered so much about themselves. Understanding their emotions has helped them identify their needs, set boundaries and improved communications with others.
Understanding that emotions are the body's unique language, conveying needs and desires. Each emotion provides specific information about internal states, and tuning in becomes a powerful source of self-awareness.
The 5-Step Process:
1. Get Grounded: A mindfulness practice involving connecting with the present moment. Sit or stand, feel the support beneath, and take slow breaths, tuning into the body.
2. Scan Your Body: Turn attention inward, scanning from head to toe. Identify areas of tension or relaxation, recognizing physical manifestations of emotions. Get curious about the feelings in different body parts.
3. Use Emotions Chart for Language: Utilize an emotions chart to articulate feelings. Categorize emotions from joy to fear, enhancing the ability to express and understand them.
4. Use A Needs Chart: To identify underlying needs connected to emotions. Reflect on you

***Content Warning: This episode contains discussions of sexual assault.***
In this episode I’m joined by Wendy J. Olson. Wendy is a healing coach, founder, and executive director of Grit Plus Gumption Farmstead. Wendy believes in the power of story to change and shape people's lives. She walks with women through their stories of past hurts and traumas, and guides them to find their own freedom and healing.
Through Grit plus Gumption Farmstead she serves survivors of sexual exploitation and domestic violence. Having applied all she teaches to her own life as a survivor herself, she is able to guide women with kindness and grace, showing them there is always more freedom to be had in one’s life. She believes everyone has a story, and even if that story is really hard, it doesn't mean the rest of the story has to be.
During our conversation Wendy shares her personal story of growing up with a narcissistic parent and the trauma she experienced that caused her to develop the inner belief and narrative “Nobody Cares”.
Even after leaving home abuse continued to be a theme in her life as she found herself in an abusive relationship that reinforced her subconscious belief that “Nobody Cares” and this is just the way life is.
But, her journey led her to finding healing through Story Work, which required her to explore her past in order to heal herself. After years of doing her personal work she developed a passion for helping other survivors use Story Work as part of their healing journey.
Wendy shares examples of how clients overcame their fear of unpacking painful memories through practices like journaling and other writing exercises designed to help them find their truth and heal. We also explore how our family history shapes our story.
