Hey man, listen, I'm back at it like I never left, man. You know, I I just have to tell y'all, man, listen. This is podcasting is one of the best decisions that I actually ever really, really did. And so I'm gonna go over something in this episode that I want to say one belief that changed everything for me and my business. Listen, you can't do it by yourself. That that's the truth. I tried. I only got so far and I failed. I wasn't making as much money as possible. I knew that be honest. I just couldn't do it by myself after a while. And so today, like the one belief that I that changed me is that like you can't, it's not a one-man team, it's not a one-man army. It's something that you can honestly work at and you know get to the point where you find the right team because not everybody's a team player, not everybody's for your team. You have to like also realize that in the midst of doing the thing that you want to do, it's it's like there's so many different variables. And so I'd say so. For my clothing brand, like I started, I did, I did it by myself. It's Audi 360, means aiming up to improve. And I was doing okay. I took, I bought some shirts from like Ollie's blanks, and they were you know cheap. Uh got me a heat press. I had sell some slides of my brand for that, and I got me a heat press and a cricket, and I just started making shirts by myself and for myself. And then I realized that like it was just me. And in that time, it was probably close to almost COVID time, so it's about a few years ago or so. But one of the things I'd say is that the determination I had to go and make it happen. I was just doing it, and things I I just was like, I gotta do it. But I also was doing it with no help. And one of the things that I've done was I was working at a Dallas um facility, you know, make some money like while I'm pursuing this clothing brand. And I realized that like the job didn't care about me. Jobs don't care about nobody. I mean, that's honestly true for me. That's how I feel about it. That's just my opinion, you know? But that's just the real shit that people are afraid to talk about. So, you know, next thing you know, me and that company didn't work out. And I loved it because that I like working for that particular company, and because it taught me that like to take care of your health. And it was one of those things where I told myself that dang, I really need this job. I I need the money, I gotta pay for this, I gotta pay for that. And, you know, one of the biggest things that took place with that is that I was I felt desperate. I was like, oh man, I'm trying to start this clothing brand. I need the money, I need the money, I need the money. And, you know, after we parted ways in this particular uh establishment, I was just like, damn, I ain't got no job. Damn, uh everything is about to fall apart. And I had a friend that come through and was like, why are you feeling sorry for yourself? Like, nobody feels sorry for you. So why are you feeling sorry for yourself? And I was like, man, I'm just really trying to get this clothing brand off the ground. I really want to do this, I really want to do that. And was like looking at all the progress and work that I did, and then was like, oh, you see that jacket over there? Oh, that's oh, that's money over there. Or you see that uh shirt over there, you see this, like, what are we doing? So that means tomorrow you'll be at the you'll be at the flea market, correct? Or this weekend, right? I was like, man, I ain't really on doing that, man. It's it's I doubted myself. When everything else in life seems to fall apart or just failing, and you want to give up, I'm here to tell you don't quit. Because if it hadn't been for that friend to tell me that I had all this inventory that things was in this in my um house at the time, uh was money and was like, hey, we not on no sucker shit right now. Like, so what? Fuck a job. If you really want it bad enough, it'll show. Man, I got to work. You heard me? Loaded up my laptop and the cricket and started making stuff and just kept going, just kept going, just kept going. And I ended up making like about, I'd say 15 shirts. And I took about 12 of them, like I took all 15 with me, but I was like, nah, I'm gonna go. And I didn't know I understand the flea market rules. I thought you just go and just set up. But no, there's a there's a fee. And so I got the last check that Friday. And I was like, man, I I I was like, I don't know, but that's that doubt that creeps in, right? It's when you don't know that something's going to work, it's being uncomfortable and being comfortable with willing to change. And that's something that like I just man. At that moment, I felt desperate. I was like, I'll do anything. But then it was like, nah, don't look at it like that. You can't look at an instant thing to fix your situation or your problem. What you can do is that you can assess the problem and see the proper strategies that it'll take to fix that. And that's what it took. And so the encouragement to do what I need to do, man. I went to the booth, uh, went to the flea market that the next that weekend, and I was there at 6 a.m. in the morning. Like, you know, they always say you get the best spots and different things of that nature and where you want to be. Positioning is everything when you go to the flea market. You either want to be in the front of where everybody's coming in at, like the main entrance, or if they have a back or two sides where people park at, that's where you need to be. And I didn't know that, but I got a good spot. I wanted to be inside, I didn't want to be hot, and I would tell you it was B 19. And when I tell you, I got in there and I was hanging up stuff, and I had my little Audi 360 sign, and I was there. And I had rented it for two days, and what I realized from there was I'm I'm on to something. But um I was still nervous. So I was just in there trying to sell shirts and sell shirts and sell shirts and sell shirts, and I have to say, here's another teachable moment. Just because you want to sell something to people doesn't mean everybody wants to buy your shit. Remember, nobody has to buy your shit, nobody has to support your shit, but you have to believe in just in your shit in order to become some shit. And that's just what it is. And the harsh reality is that during that time, I was like, man, I need the money, I need the money, I need the money. And I had to change my mindset on thinking that I am building a brand. As I build the brand, there are gonna be some ups and there are gonna be some downs, there are gonna be some sad moments and there are gonna be some okay moments. But at this very, very, very moment here, it was I don't have a job anymore, and rent's due. I get my last check and I got other obligations. So I went in with a fierce attitude that I was gonna sell all my shirts, that I was going to do the thing that I'm called to do, that I was not gonna sit around and wait for somebody to do it for me. I was just gonna get up and make it happen. And I did. And I sold my first shirt. And I didn't really have no bags or anything like that. I had like the regular grocery store bags, right? And I have to say, shout out to my auntie Yvette. Like, she came through and supported me because we were family. So I'm gonna buy from you because we're family. But I'm gonna tell you something, and this is where the teachable moment came in. Presentation is everything. The shirts might look nice and everything like that, but what are you handing me just to my hand? What do you expect me to be in? Put it in. Or, like, is this how you care about your stuff? So my money is just like trash to you. And she was just giving me a harsh reality about selling something to the consumer. You always want to package your goods up. You want it to look good, you want it to smell good if it's candles and you want it to look good if it's clothes or anything like that. And she was like, Listen, you need to take this money and you need to do something. Like, I I expect better from you, and I'm only I'm only giving you criticism because I know what you're trying to do, and I know that you can do it. And so as I began to really, really assess how, like, to do it, man. Listen, let me tell you something. I left that day and to go to five and below or Dollar Tree. I went to Dollar Tree and Five and Below. Dollar Tree ain't have them, but Five and Below did. Shout out Five and Below. They had like like 30 of them for like five dollars. And these are some nice little bags, you just do a little twist tie, make it look nice, and different things of that nature. Man, I bought two packs from them. And I came back the next day and set up the presentation even better, and I was just really happy about it because what it taught me was I didn't know everything. You can't do it solo. You need those good people that are going to push you in the right place. You're gonna need those people that are going to make a difference. And it made the biggest difference. I was selling to every boy, every girl, every man, every child, uh family members. I was selling. And in those two days, I ended up selling out of all 15 to 20 of my shirts. I went on the the verge of, I was in front of Walmart, Dollar Tree, Subway, Pizza Hood. Anywhere I could go, I was selling the shirt. And I had to make it happen because I knew that I really wanted it and I and I needed to make it happen. And there's a difference between like you really, really wanting something and it's destined for you to happen for you. And sometimes you get it wrong. And at first I had got it wrong. But at the same time, listen, I sold out, and I got the compliment that nobody's ever sold out in the last two to five years. The fact that you sold out on a small inventory and people are still pushing stuff from five years ago, you own to something. Keep going. And that just put the batter in my pad to keep going. And I was I was on fire. And for that total time, I made a thousand dollars in two days off all my shirts. I made enough money for my rent, enough money to put gas in my car, enough money to pay my cell phone bill, and take care of the obligations of the things that I needed to do. And I kept going. And I was, I I just couldn't believe what I had done. And shout out to um one of the people at the dialysis, she and her family bought for me too as well to support me. And man, I just remember saying what I was gonna do and I did it. And I would say, like, listen, let me matter of fact, I need to shout them out because they was really on my on my tail about doing the thing that I did, you know. Uh, let me see. We'll see, let me see, let me see, real quick. Because it wasn't, it if it wasn't for these people supporting me, y'all, and shout out to everybody that does support me. And I got some stuff that's coming up in the fall that that you gotta be ready for. And I know you gotta stay ready, so you ain't never gotta get ready. But um, well, listen, shout out to everybody that has bought something from Audi 360. I can't really find it right now, but you know who you are, you know. It's one of those things where it these believing in myself too, but also having an encouragement for the people around me. And as I begin to sell, I've been going to different pop-up shops, and I've got the chance to go to um Yandy, big black pop-up shop in Atlanta. Got to do that. I got to go to one uh uh big jasmine's pop-up shop in Columbia, South Carolina. I've been to Austin, Texas, and like I just in Atlanta, I've just been all over the place to start selling my merch. And as time went on, I got better. And then I started buying stuff using Alibaba, and also shout out to Alibaba, shout out to um the plugs over in Pakistan, and I ended up doing that. Uh long story short, guys, I just want to tell you that it started, I had to start from somewhere, and that was the one thing that actually built me to get to where I needed to be because I knew that one belief, believing in myself is first, and knowing that there are people like inspired by me for the clothing brand and different things of that nature, or even just gave me kudos for actually getting up and doing the thing that I said I wanted to do, and that really, really, really helped me grow my brand. And after a while, you know, it cut it got costly, but I was able to make some really good money. I've been in California, um, California, Sacramento, Oakland, um, Mountain View, um, LA. Um, shoot. Um, Marin County. I've been all over to sell my merch. And I say thank y'all for the support. But that's that that's pretty much the one thing, one belief that changed everything for me was somebody letting me know and telling me I knew I had something in the sense of it was what I wanted to go with, but I didn't have that real good confidence like I like I needed it. And I just needed that one tweak to say, hey, we support you, we believe in you, even if we ain't buying nothing from you, we believe in you. And you got to believe in yourself. And one belief that I had was that I have to make it happen, I can, I will, and I must make it happen by all means necessary. And I did. And then I had to say that thank God, thank you. It built my brand, and from there, it's still there. I had to take down the site, um, do some different things, and I had to go on, take care of a few life stuff and life issues, and that happened, but the brand never died. I always had some type of other um like clothing on me. Like I had shirts, hats, everything. I was selling them out. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. And eventually I didn't have I had so much stuff going on there. Like the inventory got shorter, and you know, I had to change it up a little bit. So now that I realize some of the other things, I took a small hiatus. And then people kept asking me, when are you coming back with something? And also I have to shout out Miss Julie. This lady supported me. It was on a plane. I was on a plane. I meant to add that to shout out Miss Julie because she bought tracksuit, shirts, different things of that nature from me. Shout you out to Miss Julie. Thank you. If it wasn't for that, the person believing in me and coming to my crib and telling me what I had and putting that battery in my pack from Auntie Vett, these things, man, I wouldn't have had no brand. But shout out to all these people. And they believed in me. And that's the one belief is that it all it takes is belief, one person to believe in you. But you also have to be the one to believe in yourself. You have to be the one to take accountability for the things that you're about to undergo and the things that you're in the places you're about to go. Because guess what? You matter, you got the plan, you are the man or woman, or child, or boy, or girl that can make it happen. Because God gave you the inspiration, God gave you the vision, God gave you everything that you need, the resources and tools to make you where you need to be. Don't ever lose that. Don't ever lose sight of the thing that you're built for. If you're just desired to be a good athlete, get out there and practice. If you want to get lose weight and be in a you know from a size 16 to a size 12, get in the gym, start working out, start eating less, drink your water, take your vitamins, start doing the things that you need to do so that you can get there. Because it's all on you at the end of the day. Nobody is putting a gun to your head, nobody's telling you what not to do and what to do because you have to be the one to seek out the vision and walk through it. You're gonna have some ups, you're gonna have some downs, you're gonna be doubtful, you're gonna be scared, but do it. And I tell you, as the brand is growing, I got some stuff coming out in the summer. And listen, another belief that changed is that I got into the rooms, I became a podcaster. And this is what you're listening to today. I didn't think how far my podcast would go, but I'm going into my third year, guys, third year of podcasting, and I've made good, decent money from it. Now, it's a consistent thing to do, but you have to, you're gonna have some long days, you're gonna have some short days, you're gonna have some good interviews, you're gonna have some bad interviews. And right now I'm on my solo, and I and I would say this coming up maybe next month or so, walking into season three with my head held high and proud, getting back out, and I'm gonna have some more guests on and different things of that nature. But I was on my solo joint right now, and I tell you this shout out Rich, Brendan Boyd, David Shans, Donnie Wiggins, Dan the Man, Sims, and everybody because they helped me grow my podcast. Tevin, um the whole Pod Peeps crew, everybody, shout them out because these are the people that also believed in me and helped me do better in my podcast, helped me grow and reset my mind to the belief that changing it. All it took was that one thing, guys. Listen, I'm also, like I said, again, really, really happy uh being a podcaster. I'm really happy still about my clone brand. And guess what, guys? Listen, you heard it first here. I got a book, man. Got a book coming out. Listen, stay tuned. Listen, that book is is it's gonna be fire. It's gonna listen. I love it. And so again, with thank you to all the people that support. Thank you for being and listening in and tuning in. Listen, tell a friend to tell a friend, send it to somebody. If you need any resources, I got them down in my bio. And I might just go ahead and drop my book, the be down there for the pre-sale. So listen, I'm your host, JR, for real shit. Let's talk podcast. I appreciate you. Listen, I'm here, check me out. Send it with a friend. Okay.
