Powerback 58: Quit prefacing your wins with losses
Stop downplaying your wins.
Somewhere along the way you were taught that anytime someone gives you a compliment or praises something that you’ve done, your response should be to tell them all the ways you’ve screwed up. You go right into how crappy the day is, or how much you paid for those shoes someone thinks are amazing.
When you’re winning, allow yourself to win. That starts with believing that you’re worthy of it first and then accepting when other people lean in to support that. Accepting a compliment or a praise doesn’t make you arrogant, it tells the universe – and everyone around you - that you believe in yourself.
