Today, we welcome the deeply insightful Rachelle Millar, trauma survivor, family therapist, and author to the Heart Place Hospital Podcast. Rachelle brings two decades of lived and professional experience supporting individuals and families navigating the effects of trauma.
A proud MIT graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Counselling, Rachelle also holds qualifications from Unitec, the Psychosynthesis Institute, and Massey University. Since starting her career at Youthline in 2003, she now works with SOS Kaipara and in private practice, supporting survivors of family violence and sexual abuse. Her expertise doesn’t stop at therapy—she’s also a savvy business consultant, helping local businesses flourish through leadership development and practical, values-based strategies.
Rachelle is a trusted trauma-informed practitioner at Mangawhai Beach School, where she partners with children, families, and teachers to address developmental trauma, anxiety, anger, bullying, and neurodivergence.
