With the limited donor capacity of the Safe Donor Area, we need to find more donor follicles.
With the average donor only having about 6000 follicles to use in a lifetime, some patients need more hairs.
Some areas that are considered as secondary donor areas-
- Beard
- Chest
- Abdomen
- and Arms.
Patient indications-
- Usually when a patient has had a few hair transplants especially when these patients have progressive hair loss, or are just at presentation a Norwood 6 or 7,
- beard restoration
- eyebrow restoration
- scarring.
The procedure is a low yield a high skill session, or sessions.
These areas need to optimal, and Dr Young uses his skill technology, and experience.
