Introduction: Understanding Curses

 There's a scripture in Proverbs that says, as the bird, by wandering as the swallow, by flying. So the curse causeless shall not come. Proverbs 26, 2. In other words, a curse without a cause can't land. It has no footing, it has no authority. It has no legal ground to rest on. And yet how many of us have lived as if we were cursed, as if something dark was always around the corner, something always holding us back.

Something always off. Even when we couldn't quite name it. 

Personal Experience of Feeling Cursed

I remember a season of my life where nothing I touched seemed to prosper. Every door I thought God opened, slammed shut. Every connection I thought was divine, turned toxic. Every step forward had a matching setback, like walking in circles in a fog.

I started wondering if I was cursed, but then God whispered something that shook me. The enemy is loud, but I am legal. That one sentence sent me on a journey of truth. Because feelings are not facts. And what looks like a curse might be a test, a delay, a pruning, or even a lie. 

The Legal Ground of Curses

There are real curses, words spoken in anger, witchcraft, generational patterns, soul ties, unforgiveness, I.

The key is this, they only operate where there's an open door. The enemy is a legalist. He cannot touch what God has covered unless there is access. That's what Solomon was saying in Proverbs 26, 2, just like a bird flutters, but finds no place to land. A curse without a cause will not rest on you. So the question is never just am I cursed? The real question is, is there a cause? 

Identifying Causes of Curses

Let's talk about causes those cracks in the foundation where things slip through, unforgiveness can be a cause. When we hold bitterness, even when we feel justified, we give place to TOR mentors. Matthew 1834. Disobedience is a big one when we know what God said, but we do our own thing.

Even in small areas. Hidden sin, unresolved trauma agreements we've made with lies. These things create spiritual access points. Sometimes the cause is not even yours. It can be inherited. A generational curse passed down through bloodlines, but even then, the finished work of Christ offers freedom. 

Breaking Free from Curses

The cross is the place where every curse is canceled.

Galatians three 13 says, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us. So why do people still live under the weight of curses? Two words, ignorance and agreement. You can't break what you don't recognize and you can't fight what you've accepted as normal. When people say things like, it runs in my family, or I've always had bad luck.

Or that's just how I am. They're often unknowingly agreeing with bondage. 

The Power of Agreement and Truth

Agreement gives power, but the opposite is also true agreement with truth breaks chains. There are also times when people will try to curse you. They'll speak against you, plot against you, slander you, envy you. But even in that, if there's no cause, it won't stick. The curse will wander. It will fly, but it cannot land. 

Staying Aligned with God

That's why staying in alignment with God is not just a suggestion. It's protection. Look at Baum in the book of numbers. He was hired to curse the people of Israel, but every time he opened his mouth, a blessing came out instead of a curse. Why? Because the people were in covenant.

Because God had declared you can't curse. What I have blessed. Now, don't get me wrong, sometimes it feels like the curse did come bad. Things happen to good people. Life hits hard. Spiritual warfare is real, but a hit is not a curse. A storm is not a sign of sin. 

Distinguishing Between Pruning and Punishment

Sometimes we go through wilderness seasons, not because we're cursed, but because we're being processed.

God uses fire to purify. He uses battles to build warriors. The real danger is when we start confusing pruning with punishment or warfare with a curse, that's when the enemy sneaks in with lies. He'll whisper. See, you're not favored. Look at your life. He'll say, you'll always struggle. It's your bloodline.

He'll try to make you fear what has no right to stay. 

Walking in Freedom and Authority

But when we know the truth, we stand. We cancel false guilt, we reject shame. We take inventory. If there is a cause, we repent. If not, we rebuke. Let me tell you, there is freedom. When you know your legal rights in the spirit, there is authority. When you walk in the light, when the enemy comes knocking, you don't have to answer the door.

Start declaring no cause, no curse. Say it until you believe it. Live like you're blessed because you are live like you're free because you can be. 

Conclusion: You Are Blessed, Not Cursed

The blood of Jesus didn't just wash you, it sealed you. Even now, I sense God reminding someone, the curse you feared has no cause. Here. Let it go. Stop carrying it.

I've already canceled it. So walk in peace. Dig up the roots, check the doors. Don't live under something that has no right to your life. You are not cursed. You are covered. You are not forgotten. You are favored. You are not bound. You are blessed and a cursed without a cause. It shall not come.
