There's a moment. Quiet, subtle. When the temptation first shows up, a thought, a glance, a memory, a desire. It doesn't always come with horns and fire. Sometimes it's dressed in what you want, wrapped in what you prayed for, coated in something familiar. That's the moment you have to decide. Entertain it or flee from it.

Don't entertain him. Satan doesn't need an open door. A crack will do. A moment of curiosity, a replay of the past, a delay in obedience. That's all it takes, and the longer you entertain him, the more convincing his lies become. He doesn't knock with sin, he knocks with suggestion. The battle is often won or lost in entertainment.

Recognizing the Bait

What we let linger in our minds and hearts, here are the keys to flee Satan. Recognize the bait. Satan studies you. He knows your past, your patterns, and your preferences. He's strategic what didn't tempt you before? He'll try a new way. Don't take the bait. Recognize what's laced with deception and disguised as desire.

Second Corinthians two 11. Les Satan should get an advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Immediate Rejection

Rejected immediately. Delayed resistance is silent agreement. Don't debate with the enemy. He's been lying longer than you've been living. When the thought comes, cast it down. When the urge shows up, say no out loud if you have to, James four, seven, resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Run Like Joseph

Run like Joseph. Don't flirt with what's trying to kill you spiritually. Joseph didn't stay to explain, pray or try to prove his strength. He ran sometimes. Fleeing is your greatest show of strength. Genesis 39 12, and he left his garment in her hand and fled and got him out refill with truth.

Refill with Truth

Every lie you cast down must be replaced with truth.

The word of God is your weapon. Memorize it, meditate on it. Let it fight for you when your strength feels weak. Psalm 119, verse 11, thy word have I Hi in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

Stay Accountable

Stay accountable. Don't fight alone. Confess your struggles to trusted believers. Have people who can call you out, pray you through, and remind you of who you are in Christ.

Ecclesiastes four 12. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Guard Your Gates

Guard your gates, your eyes, ears, and thoughts or entry points. What you consume feeds your spirit. Don't invite what you're trying to resist. Music, movies, conversations. They all plant seeds. Be vigilant. Proverbs 4 23, keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.

Stay Full of the Spirit

Stay full of the spirit. Emptiness is an invitation. When you're spiritually dry, you're more susceptible. Worship, pray fast. Whatever it takes to stay in alignment with God. A filled heart has no room for the enemy. Galatians five 16, walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Conclusion: Flee from the Enemy

Don't entertain him.

Don't debate him. Don't delay flee because the enemy isn't playing games and your soul is not up for negotiation.
