“‘Don’t judge me.’ We hear that all the time, but what did Jesus actually mean?
In Matthew 7, Jesus says, ‘Do not judge, or you too will be judged.’ But He’s not saying we can’t discern right from wrong. He’s warning us not to be hypocrites, pointing out others’ flaws while ignoring our own.
He says, ‘Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?’ Before correcting someone else, check your own heart. Let God deal with your pride, your anger, your hidden sin.
Once your vision is clear, you can help others with compassion, not condemnation. The goal is restoration, not humiliation.
So today, ask God, ‘Where am I judging without looking at myself first?’ Let Him change you, so you can help others in love.”
Ask, Seek, Knock (Matthew 7:7-12)
“Are you tired of praying and feeling like nothing is happening?
Jesus says in Matthew 7, ‘Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.’ This isn’t a one-time action, it’s a lifestyle of persistent faith.
God is a good Father. He wants you to come to Him, to keep seeking Him, to keep knocking, trusting that He hears and responds. Sometimes the delay is shaping your faith, not denying your request.
And right after this, Jesus reminds us, ‘Do to others what you would have them do to you.’ Our prayers and actions are connected. We can’t pray for blessings while treating others poorly.
Today, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. Trust God’s timing and align your life with His love.”
The Narrow and Wide Gates (Matthew 7:13-14)
“Are you on the narrow path or the easy road?
In Matthew 7, Jesus says, ‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’
The wide road feels comfortable. It’s living for yourself, following culture, doing whatever feels good. But it leads to spiritual death.
The narrow road is following Jesus. It requires surrender, obedience, and saying no to sin. It’s not popular, but it leads to eternal life.
Every day, you choose your path. Are your choices leading you closer to Jesus, or blending you into the world?
Choose the narrow road today, even if it’s hard. It’s the only road that leads to true life.”
True and False Prophets (Matthew 7:15-20)
“Not everyone who claims to speak for God is sent by God.
In Matthew 7, Jesus warns, ‘Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.’ They look harmless, but their teachings lead people away from truth.
How can you tell who’s real? Jesus says, ‘By their fruit you will recognize them.’ Look at their character, their actions, and what their teachings produce. Is it leading people closer to Jesus and holiness, or into confusion and compromise?
We need discernment in these times. Don’t follow someone just because they sound good. Test everything against Scripture.
Today, pray for discernment. Ask God to help you see the fruit in those you listen to spiritually.”
True and False Disciples (Matthew 7:21-23)
“Not everyone who says, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
In Matthew 7, Jesus says many will say, ‘Did we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name?’ And He will say, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me.’
This is serious. It’s possible to do spiritual things and still not know Jesus personally. God is not impressed by our spiritual activities if our hearts are far from Him.
Obedience matters. Relationship matters. It’s not about performance, it’s about surrendering to Jesus and living out His will.
Today, check your heart. Do you know Jesus, or are you just busy doing things for Him? Seek Him first. Let your relationship with Him be real.”
Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24-29)
“Is your life built to stand when storms come?
In Matthew 7, Jesus says, ‘Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.’ When the storm came, the house stood firm.
But those who hear and don’t apply His words are like a foolish builder on sand. When the storm hit, the house fell.
Storms will come. Challenges, temptations, disappointments. Your foundation will be tested.
Obedience is your foundation. Don’t just hear the Word, live it out. That’s how you build a life that can withstand anything.
Today, choose to apply one teaching of Jesus. Don’t just hear, do. Build your life on the Rock.”
