"Let me talk to the ones who feel frustrated. You've been showing up to church. You've gotten hands laid on you. You’ve talked to everybody you thought could help. But you're still broken. Still confused. Still bound.
Why? Because you’ve been seeking man, but not seeking God.
We rely so heavily on people to fix what only God can heal. We chase a word from a prophet but won’t open the Word for ourselves. We depend on leaders to pray us through, but haven’t built a secret place of our own.
This series is not to bash spiritual leadership. God uses people, pastors, teachers, mentors. But they’re just vessels. Only God is the source. If you’ve been feeling dry, disappointed, or spiritually disconnected, it might be because you’ve been looking horizontally when God is calling you to look up.
Let’s talk about it."
Man is a Vessel, Not the Source!
Some of us have placed all our hope in people. We expect them to have all the answers. We treat spiritual leaders like our lifeline, as if they carry the power to fix what’s broken in us. But here’s the truth: God uses people, but people aren’t God.
That’s why so many leave churches, counseling sessions, and conferences still empty, because they came for man, but didn’t truly come for God.
Jeremiah 17:5 says, "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord." If your trust is in the vessel more than the source, you’ll always be disappointed.
Yes, God appoints leaders. Yes, we need the Body. But people are just messengers. The power comes from the One who sent them. Stop running to man like he’s your Savior. Start seeking the One who actually is. Only God can do it.
Results Require Fellowship!
"Don’t expect results from a God you haven’t been seeking."
Everybody wants the blessing. The breakthrough. The clarity. But nobody wants to stay in the secret place long enough to hear from God.
We want results, but we skip the relationship. We want the promise, but avoid the process.
Psalm 34:10 says "Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."
That’s a promise, but it’s tied to pursuit. God doesn’t respond to religious routine. He responds to hunger. He responds to those who actually seek Him. Stop expecting transformation through proximity alone. Don’t just be near Godly things, draw near to God Himself.
Why You’re Still Unfulfilled!
"You’re not unfulfilled because God failed. You’re unfulfilled because you put all your hope in man."
No person on this earth can fill what only God was meant to satisfy.
Your pastor can preach. Your friends can encourage. But none of them can fix your soul. The reason many feel dry and disappointed is because they made man their provider, their deliverer, their emotional support system. That’s too much weight for any human to carry.
Psalm 62:5 says "My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my hope is from Him." Not from people. Not from platforms. From Him. Take your hope off people. Put it back on the One who never fails. Only God can meet your deepest need.
You Need Teaching, But You Need God More!
"Yes, God gives us teachers, but if you stop at the teacher, you’ll miss the truth."
We need pastors. We need sound doctrine. God gave us teachers to equip the Body, that’s Ephesians 4. But the goal was never for you to live off secondhand revelation. The pastor’s role is to point you to God, not replace Him. Too many believers idolize the one who teaches and neglect the One who speaks.
That’s why when a leader falls, some people’s whole faith falls too.
Because their trust wasn’t in God, it was in man. Respect the vessel. But stay anchored in the Source. The power is not in the person. It’s in the presence of God.
Realignment: Seek God First!
"If God isn’t your first seek, He won’t be your source of strength."
We were never meant to treat God like a backup plan. He’s not the last resort when man disappoints, He’s the first option. That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
When we put God in His rightful place, everything else starts to make sense. Provision flows. Peace returns. Clarity comes. But it starts with putting Him first.
Reorder your priorities. Don’t just talk about God, seek Him. He’s waiting for you to stop depending on people and start depending on Him.
God Wants to Be Sought!
The problem isn’t that God is silent. It’s that too many of us have been looking in the wrong direction. We run to people like they’re our Savior.
We wait on man to give us what only God can release. We want fruit, but we avoid intimacy. We chase public answers, but neglect private pursuit.
Here’s the truth: Your breakthrough doesn’t come from man’s hand. It comes from God’s presence. He’s not hiding. He’s waiting. Not for perfection, but for pursuit.
“Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord…” Hosea 6:3.
Make up your mind today. Seek God, not just for answers, but for relationship. That’s where the real shift begins.
