More than a podcast, it's a sanctuary of faith and miracles. Get ready to be inspired and empowered.
So understand that God already answers from the moment you decide to engage with Him, because if He's an eternal God, which He declares He is and we know that He is. The Lord is always examining the hearts of men, is always weighing the hearts of men, is always investigating the intent of our hearts.
Human beings deal with what you're saying, but the reason why you cannot deceive God is because God doesn't need your words to be convinced of anything you say. God goes straight to the heart, and when He goes straight to the heart, He also engages the intent of the heart.
You see, human beings have a weakness, because I can come and say something about you, but what is the intent of speaking about you? Whether I'm speaking against you or for you, what is the intent? It is very difficult, not impossible, but very difficult to examine the intent of people's hearts.
Today they will kiss you, tomorrow that same kiss will be a Judas kiss. Tomorrow they will applaud you, next week they will not. They are being controlled, it is human nature.
God's Perspective on Intentions
But when it comes to dealing with God, God is always examining the intent of people's hearts.
Personal Reflections on Discernment
One of my greatest failures in life is overly loving people. It caused me to turn off the eyes of the Spirit in looking at people's intentions, because when you walk in discernment you examine intention. You don't examine acts. People can come and be most qualified in every act, in every good work, but to a mature believer, you don't look at their skill, you look at their intent. What is driving them to do what they're doing will tell you whether they will be there for a long time, for a short time, or for a good time. And in the bad times you won't see them.
Examine intentions.
The Deceitfulness of the Heart
When God tests us, God's testing is usually to reveal to you your own intent. The heart itself is deceitful above all things. You may not even know your own intentions of why you're doing what you're doing. It takes God to expose your heart to you through situations, through circumstances. Then you look at yourself and realize, "What in the world was I doing? What is wrong with me?" You begin to see yourself with the mirror of the Word of God.
Scriptural Insights on Intentions
That is what Scripture tells you. When you read the Word of God, you are actually looking at a mirror that will tell you who you are, because the Word of God is sharper than a double-edged sword, dividing spirit from soul, and it discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Not Satan's words, not the devil's word.
The Fall of Man and Intentions
Satan attacked Eve's intention. He knew that he couldn't deceive her by words alone. He got her to look at herself, because when you read the intentions of Eve, eating the fruit is actually shocking. She said it looks good for food, and it is desirable to give one wisdom. Her first intention was, "This looks delicious."
The fall of man usually is because of appetite and hunger. So you need to comprehend this by the Spirit of God.
Self-Examination and Prayer
Examine yourself, because it will declare to you why you are doing what you're doing. Most believers pray because they're in trouble. Most believers pray because they're in pain. Few pray because they love God. In fact, the amount of people who genuinely love God is less than two percent of believers.
Most people are brought before God by their issues, by the rejection of their family, not simply because they looked at creation and said, "Look at this—God created all these things, and I am part of His creation. I desire to know Him." Most people are not driven by love, but by need.
Human Nature and Forgetfulness
This is why, knowing human nature, God said to the children of Israel, "When you enter the land flowing with milk and honey, don't forget the Lord your God who delivered you from the hands of the Egyptians with a mighty hand, who parted the sea for you." If they could forget God after all that, don't be surprised if they forget you. If they can forget God, how much more can they forget you?
Never take it personal. It's just the nature of man.
