I want you to pause for a moment and ask yourself this question. What is your purpose? What is your assignment? What is the problem God birthed you to solve? Now ask those same questions to people you know. What you'll likely discover is that far too many don't have a genuine understanding of what it is. We have guesses, we have assumptions, we have opinions, but rarely do we have the conviction that comes from truly knowing. Knowing changes you, it causes you to move differently, think differently, and process life differently.

So the question becomes, why don't we know? I believe one of the roots of this problem is the lack of foundational equipping in how purpose is actually revealed.

Communion Over Tests

Taking a spiritual gifts test isn't the answer. Having others point out your talents isn't the answer. Comparing yourself to someone else because you see similarities isn't the answer. The answer is communion with God. A genuine prophet may confirm what God has already spoken, but more often than not, it is God Himself who reveals your purpose as you consistently commune

Church Culture Gap

with Him. The problem is that this is rarely taught in today's church culture. Many believers are left trying to figure everything out on their own, unless they receive a divine revelation about the importance and necessity of spiritual covering. This subject is also rarely addressed from the pulpit, yet it is vital to spiritual maturity and development. How do you spend 10, 20, or even 30 years in church and still not know what God designed you to do? That shouldn't be normal. Yet church buildings across the world are filled every week with faithful attendees who still don't know why they were created. Some even appear to be thriving on the outside, yet they remain disconnected from their God-given assignment. How do I know this is true? Look at the condition of much of the church today, and then look at its effectiveness in reaching the world. Something is missing. I

My Search For Direction

struggled with this myself in the beginning. I took tests, I sought advice, I listened to people tell me what they thought my purpose was. I was taught that serving in my gifts and talents was my purpose. Serving is necessary, but it is not the answer most people are searching

Finding Spiritual Covering

for. The truth is I wandered in that place for years until God divinely connected me with someone who unveiled what had remained hidden from me, a pastor, a prophet, someone God ordained to become my spiritual father. I've never met him in person, I've never attended his church. His ministry is on the opposite side of the country from where I live. But in the spirit there is no distance. Once I submitted and committed myself to the authority God had assigned over me, I cannot fully express the insight and revelation that began flowing into my life. The Holy Spirit was always my teacher, but God also chose to use someone carrying a grace that I needed. The knowledge, wisdom, and understanding I now possess are directly connected to what God has entrusted to him. Many of the battles I've overcome were possible because he had already overcome them. Through spiritual covering, I benefited from the grace God had placed upon his life. His willingness to freely share what God had taught him accelerated my own growth.

How Covering Accelerates Growth

We were never meant to simply attend church and become spectators. God created every one of us with a purpose that must be fulfilled. Yet very few believers are taught that there is such a thing as spiritual covering, or that the grace upon a God-appointed leader can strengthen and equip those whom God has joined to them. If you've remained stagnant for years, it may be worth asking whether the spiritual covering over your life is capable of taking you where God is calling you. If your pastor does not walk in genuine authority, dominion, and the power of the Holy Spirit, your growth may eventually reach a ceiling. You may faithfully attend every service, yet experience little transformation. But when God connects you to a true servant of the Most High, something begins to change, you begin to grow, you begin to mature, you begin to overcome, you begin to fulfill God's assignment for your life. Why? Because God has connected you to someone carrying a key that helps unlock what He already placed

Attendees Versus Disciples

within you. Do not be deceived. There are many pulpits today, both large and small, that are producing church attendees rather than true disciples. Church attendees rarely change the world. Disciples do.

Keys And Final Charge

The takeaway is simple. Communion with God is the key to discovering your purpose. The spiritual covering of the person God has genuinely assigned to you can become one of the keys that helps unlock and develop that purpose. Otherwise, it's possible to spend an entire lifetime sitting in church while never becoming who God created you to be. That is not God's desire for your life.
