Episode Summary:

In this message, Pastor Brad continues The Gospel Of series by looking at the gospel of peace. Peace is not simply the absence of trouble or the result of everything around us finally lining up. Through Romans 10:14–15 and Romans 5:1–2, we are reminded that the peace Jesus gives is rooted in His finished work, not in our ability to control circumstances. Because we are at peace with God through Christ, we can carry peace toward others and live with peace within ourselves.

Main Scripture:

  • Romans 10:14–15
  • Romans 5:1–2

Big Idea:

The gospel of peace is the finished work of Jesus giving us assurance with God, peace toward others, and peace within ourselves—no matter what is happening around us.

In This Episode:

  • Biblical peace is not based on controlling circumstances; it is based on the finished work of Jesus and the promises of God.
  • The gospel of peace is good news that people carry, but it is the gospel itself—not the preacher—that changes people.
  • Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence, authority, and power of Christ in the middle of trouble.
  • Peace with God is positional, not conditional, because it rests on what Jesus did at Calvary.
  • When we know we are at peace with God, we can carry peace to others and begin to see ourselves the way God sees us.

Reflection Questions:

  • Where have I been waiting for circumstances to change before allowing myself to live in peace?
  • What promise of God do I need to remember when trouble surrounds me?
  • Have I been living as if God’s peace with me depends on my performance?
  • Where have I treated people as enemies instead of people Jesus went to the cross for?
  • What has God forgiven that I am still refusing to release in myself?

Next Steps:

  • Read Romans 10:14–15 and Romans 5:1–2 this week, and thank Jesus for the gospel of peace.
  • When anxiety or chaos rises, pray from assurance instead of waiting until you understand everything.
  • Let a trusted believer remind you of God’s promises instead of carrying pressure alone.
  • Choose one relationship where you can carry peace instead of an us-versus-them attitude.
  • Stop measuring God’s peace by your performance, and stand in the finished work of Jesus.
