2.13.26 false guru vs real guru
For anyone who gets confused, like, uh, is my teacher a false guru? Okay? These people will have siddhis, they will have spiritual powers, they will be able to do things that you consider to be miraculous. They will be able to warp timespace in all these weird ways, right? That is not the sign of someone who's enlightened. Welcome to the Ground of Love. I'm your host, Olivia Frazao. This is a podcast for people who are deeply dedicated to the spiritual journey. You are here for self-growth care, for others, and being of service to the world. This podcast is in service to you to help you remember who you are and why you are here, you will receive inspiration, clarity, and no BS Love. We are walking each other home. Let's begin. This is a two part episode series About the false guru and the real guru. Okay, so disclaimer, I am neither, and, I have gratefully, been in the presence of real gurus, and I have never been in the presence of someone pretending to be a guru, but who's messed up and manipulative and all of that. Okay? I, of course, have been around humans who are on a spiritual path or teaching or in a position of some type of authority who might have blind spots. But I'm speaking from a place of gratefully, not having. Been through, a lot of the major issues that a lot of people who have gone down the wrong path that they've been through. Okay. My path, thanks be to God, has been with the real guru path. So I am someone who actually has a lot of faith and surrender and who has been given a lot of grace from those who are truly holding, an empowered emanation of divine beingness rather than a bunch of bs. And at the same time, I have been trained with discernment. So I'm also very skeptical of a lot of things and a lot of people and a lot of ways that people do things. And so I feel like my radar is pretty good. And at the same time, I have spoken with people who have had very different experiences than I have had. Where they've really been down the deep end in the not so good side of things of the, let's say, spiritual world. So the reason I'm doing this episode is because I would love for people to be able to have the experience of trust and surrender to real spiritual masters, not false ones, real ones, whether incarnated or not, that, that I have had the privilege of having and what I'm aware of is a, as it should be. I, I think this is a good thing. I'm aware that people who are not necessarily already held in that very direct and very clear way, they come with a lot of skepticism. And in order for me to answer that skepticism in what feels like a responsible way. I can't just be like, open yourself and trust, right? Because sometimes we actually shouldn't. And so what I actually need to do in order to help people be able to be available for the real guru when that is what's in the cards for them or when that's what's available to them, what we need to do is look at the false guru and the wounds of the person who may have fallen for those kinds of traps or may have resulted from having fallen from those kinds of traps, from having been with someone who is actually unhealthy as a spiritual teacher, posing as something more than they were, whether consciously or whether purposely or not on purpose. So that we can actually go back to the, the main topic, which is let's be in a healthy, spiritual relationship with those who are a true emanation of the divine and who can connect us. More deeply with our own essence, right? Because that's the whole point of a real guru is someone who shows you your inner guru, right? Your inner God nature. Okay? So here's what we're gonna do In this episode. I am going to compare and contrast false guru and real guru. Okay? So one is gonna be the spiritual teacher who either consciously or subconsciously, purposely or not on purpose, is bringing forth the egoic self in a way that is negatively affecting the students. Okay? So we're gonna call that the spiritual ego, which is basically the part of the ego itself that thinks that it's spiritual, but is actually just still more ego, right? So we're gonna look at that being and. What their inner experience is a little bit. And that part, full disclosure, I got help with from chat GPT. Okay. I have no idea what the inner experience of the false guru is. But I wanted that to be part of this talk. So, so that's in there. Please obviously go ahead and do your own research on all of this. I'm not the be all end all for this topic. This is just, you know, what I've got. Okay? So that's, that should always be the case for everything. Do your own research. Okay? And then we're, and then in simultaneity, as I said, compare and contrast, we're gonna be looking at the experience of the real guru. I am not a real guru. Nor am I attempting to be. Thus, I'm not a false one either. Because I'm not enlightened and I can't speak from within the enlightened experience. I can simply speak from what I have observed and what other people who have also observed these. Great beings, what they have also said and shared about them. Okay? And so then we will look at, as we do this, we're gonna also look at what is the experience of the student or the devotee, whatever, you know, whatever you call that, the person who's learning from these beings, right? How are they affected by the false guru and the real guru? And in that, we can kind of look at, do you have certain propensities towards falling for any of this stuff on the negative side of things? Or are you so defended around not wanting to fall for that kind of stuff, that then you're not actually open for the real stuff, right? So we can look at maybe within you, where might you land in terms of are you too gullible And there might be a danger with who you might be allowing to be your authority figure? Or maybe are you even hyper defended or overly. Um, let's say mistrusting or skeptical or rigid in moments where it actually is safe to allow yourself to soften and to open. Okay, so here we go. Let's start. The inner experience of the false guru, are you ready? So first of all, this is obvious, but just to state it, the whole point of the false guru is someone who says that they're enlightened, who is not. Okay, so before I go into CH GBT, I realize I now have to talk about what I am calling enlightened, awake and enlightened are different. Okay. What I'm calling awake, which is not what this episode is about because it's about gurus who are either enlightened or pretending to be. But just so you know, in general, when I talk about awakening in other episodes, awake simply means that you are on a spiritual path in a way where you have already had direct experiences of reality beyond the solid separate self. The materialist physicalist paradigm of 3D reality and the kind of, let's say either atheist or overly dogmatic mental mind, warped religious teachings that have. Been given to you from your culture. Okay, so awake simply means that you had a really big aha moment with some kind of a state change, where you had a direct experience of greater perception of a softening of what you considered to be your separate identity into greater beingness and interconnection, or any kind of multidimensional experience that might feel pretty trippy. Something that has opened you to a direct experience of that which is beyond what the ego, egoic self believes to be. True. Okay. Experience beyond the egoic self. That to, to then reach enlightenment. That's a whole other, let's say, arrival point. Okay. Awaken to be awakened or to experience awakening, or to have an awakening, or to be awakening. None of that is what I would call an arrival. It's simply. Experiences. When we have these experiences, it changes how the ego identity thinks about themselves, spirituality, reality, et cetera, and leads to the con, leads to the continuation of the spiritual path in a way that becomes deeper and deeper. And then there are more and more awakenings, meaning more moments where your baseline of what you consider reality to be shifts or how you're directly experiencing reality is shifting. Okay? Awakening after awakening, after awakening, you can have a awake, an awakening per day if you want. It's a, it's a process of experiences that kind of add up. Okay? In contrast, what I'm calling enlightenment is what you would call the end of the line. Of awakening. It's the arrival point where there's no more awakening that needs to happen because there's no more egoic self present. You are only God nature flowing through an incarnated human vessel. There is nothing stuck around the concept of I, and there is nothing limited around the perception of reality. Okay, ob, obviously that's not where I'm at. I still have an ego self. I am, as I said, sharing this from what I have learned about from those who are, who are that. Okay, let's see what else in this category. Yeah, so enlightenment can either be a being who has reached enlightenment within a particular lifetime, or a being who basically an avatar being who's born, enlightened. Okay. It doesn't matter. The point is. Whenever we're talking about this person, that they already are enlightened, okay. So that's the real guru. Now, the false guru is someone who is pretending to be enlightened, either because they actually believe it themselves. There's some kind of a pathological lying going on even within themselves, or they are working on a whole weird scheme, and they're manipulating you and lying about themselves consciously, okay? But the reality for this person is that they still have an egoic self. Now that egoic self can have blind spots. I mean, it will have blind spots, is literally what an ego itself is. And we need to get, we need to get really real and discerning around what happens. When the ego, egoic self, and this is not just about the false guru, okay? This is about all of us. What happens when the ego, egoic, self starts kind of living with another aspect of our self, which is greater reality, right? There's some wonkiness that can happen there, okay? Yes, there is a lot of alchemy or alchemizing that can happen, which I speak about in other episodes. There's one called, how Healing Happens. It's part of the, holistic health checklist. I give a really brief introduction to how healing happens. I believe it's in that episode. There might be some others, and I'll do more about healing, but there's something around when coherent energies come in. When we are actually in a direct experience of that which is greater than self and limited reality, when we're actually having a direct experience of greater reality. There is a, let's say, a, a, a a frequency range that we can be experiencing that can then, or a coherence, let's say, that we can be experiencing that can then touch on or contact the frequency range or the incoherence of the egoic self. All those egoic parts of us that are still there. And that contact between what is true and what is an illusion will naturally result in an alchemy where the ego, egoic self will kind of start chipping away over time. Okay. It'll start melting, let's say, and that can happen quickly. That can happen slowly, but it's something where the access that the individual separate self has, AKA, the egoic personality self, the access that, that our limited identity has. Towards or with or within, that which is truly real will naturally change. It will naturally heal, it will naturally dissolve the ego over time. Okay. So that's a good thing. It's great for us to be in spiritual context and doing our spiritual practice and focusing on all of the awesome direct experiences that were happening that, that we're having of divinity. Right? And now, specifically when I'm talking about the false guru, the issue here is we also need to get real and discerning and aware of how the egoic self it has needs. And it will try to get those needs met in wonky ways if those needs are not met in, let's say the, the more typical ways. Right. So our ego self is honestly an amalgamation of traumas, right? Uh, what you would call maybe in intense ones and more very basic stuff. But it's, it's, it's content that's unresolved. It's content that's solidified. It's limiting beliefs, meaning distorted perceptions of reality. It's stuff that's just off, okay? And we don't realize it as off'cause we just think that's who I am and what reality is. But actually it's illusion, meaning a distorted understanding of self and reality, right? So through all of that stuff, that ego itself, it's feeling alone, it's feeling potentially rejected or afraid of rejection, it's feeling maybe shame or an attempt at beefing up their sense of self, their sense of importance, or they need validation because of shame, right? We all have this weird stuff. All of our personality selves have this. Think about yourself. Think about me. Do we wanna be loved and we wanna be accepted, and we don't wanna be people to be upset with us or judging us. Yeah. I want that. Right. Does that sometimes lead to, I don't know, people pleasing or other behaviors that are probably not great? Yeah. Right. So we have these, let's say, I don't know, mistakes that we make. You could say, right, where we're behaving in ways where we're trying to get our needs met in a way that's actually not helpful to us. Now think about someone who's a spiritual teacher who still has wonkiness in their field or in their psyche, right? That stuff is now in a more precarious position actually, when, when we're just doing day-to-day life, right? We're a cog in the wheel in, you know, we're, we're not really standing out. Those things, they're almost kept in check by the fact that, let's say we're not famous and super influential, right? But when somebody becomes powerful, meaning in the human sense of the term, not like the true power of God, but powerful, just in terms of being well known, being famous, having influence, having people looking up to you, having being an authority figure in an organization or something like that. And I'm not even talking about spirituality right now. It could be anything. It could be a CEO of a big company or whatever. When we're in this place of power, what happens to our ego? All of a sudden, our inner child that's always wanted recognition or that's always wanted to be loved and accepted, or that's always wanted praise or whatever. It's gonna be having a field day, right? It's gonna be feeding off of whatever this power position is because now that inner child, that inner 2-year-old inside of us who should have had mommy and daddy's love, is now receiving it from. I don't know. Who is it? Your clients, your students, whatever. You know, whatever your position is, whoever is quote unquote below you, right? So now let's look at the false guru. Okay? Now let's look at whatever I looked up on chat GPT. Hold on one second. Okay. So it talks about basically what we've already said, their sense of self is fragile and invested in the role of teacher, right? So their identity is wrapped up in being seen as special, advanced, or spiritually powerful. Okay? So first of all, as you're seeing, they still have an identity, right? And this identity is trying to be special. So we wanna be special, you wanna be advanced, or we wanna be powerful. Right. There's a fragility there that is wanting those things in order to basically mask that fragility from themselves to feel powerful. So they wanna be admired, they want people to be devoted to them, and they want compliance. Okay? This is from chat GPT, because those provide a sense of safety worth and validation they cannot generate from within, right? Why? Because when you grow up in a healthy context, when you get every single thing that you need as you're growing up, which by the way, who has actually gotten that, right? I don't know of anybody, but let's say you have, then you're, you're feeling totally self-sufficient. You don't need anything from anyone but these, right? And you can generate all of this self-love from within in this case, unfortunately. Not only is that not the case for this person, but now they're in a place of authority and get this. Now remember, by the way, this is me, not chat GPT, but I'm sure chat GPT would talk about this if I asked it. Think about it this way. You are now in a place of spiritual authority. You're not just like a CEO with a bunch of employees. You are a spiritual teacher talking about esoteric things. This is an area that is very mysterious to people. This is not something that people can understand, right? It's different from, I don't know, being a business leader where other people also understand business and they know when you're BSing or not. People come in blind to spiritual growth and spiritual teachings and things like that. So my point is it can be, I guess it's, it's easier to be able to fool people, right? And because people don't know what they're getting into because this stuff is so esoteric, and so they're basically gonna trust anything you say. Okay. Let's see. So now Chat GPT is saying subconsciously they may fear being ordinary, abandoned, or irrelevant. Okay, so again, there's the whole specialness thing. So they're wanting that pedestal, right, that people put them onto, and so they compensate with intensity, charisma, and control. So there's a whole show that starts happening. They start performing for you and revealing all their spiritual powers. Now, this is really important, okay? For anyone who gets confused, like, uh, is my teacher a false guru? Okay? These people will have siddhis, they will have spiritual powers, they will be able to do things that you consider to be miraculous. They will be able to warp timespace in all these weird ways, right? That is not the sign of someone who's enlightened. Okay? Yes, enlightened beings are all capable of all of those things. Some of them reveal those capabilities, and some of them purposely do not. Whether they were reveal them or not. Is not the sign of whether someone is false or real. But my point is that only because those magical powers are there, this is 100%, believe me on this, it does not mean that they're for real. Okay? They can either have mal intent or they can just be really clueless about their blind spots and still take you for a ride that's not good for you. Okay? Let's see what else is here? Their perspective of the world is filtered through their own ego. Yeah, so I mean, that's the case for all of us until we're enlightened. They basically wanna be liked. They don't want people to see that they are not perfect. So they basically, they have to pretend to be perfect and they don't want people to leave them. And so they're kind of acting spiritual. The whole point here, and this is what chat GBT is saying, their choices are guided by need. So I was saying that as well. The ego itself has needs, right? And this person is trying to get their own personal needs met through you as their student. That is a huge red flag. That's like, let's talk about love for a moment. Okay. I'm doing a quick aside. What does I love you really mean when we talk about, let's just talk about romantic love for a moment. Okay. To have a container for this. So real love. I love how to, how you say I love you in Italian. You know how to say I love you in Italian. You say ti voglio bene, what does that mean? Means I want good for you. That's literally what it means. Ti means you. voglio means I want, and bene means good. That's how you say I love you to someone. It's literally, I want what's good for you. Where is the personal need? In that nowhere, it's a completely generous love. It is wanting the other person to be Well. Now when, let's say we're back to the romantic context. When we say I love you, oftentimes what we actually mean is, I want you or I need you. I want you, that's for my own personal desires. That's for my own agenda. That's because I have some, I have, I don't know, some kind of a, a mold that I want you to fit that I'm like, Ooh, you're perfect for my little collection of whatever my personal needs are. Right? I want you, I want that. It's like going to store and being like, Ooh, I want that. I, I need you. You know, that's, it's similar, uh, to what I just said, right? There's a personal need and you know that that person can fulfill your personal need. What happens when that person can't fulfill your needs or desires? Do you still love them in that case? No, you wouldn't because they're basically just being what you want them to be, and then when they're not being what you want them to be, then you don't love them anymore. That's not actually love, right? Whereas Ana, I want good for you. It has nothing to do with whether the person is per is meeting your actual personal needs or not, or your personal desires. Right? That's a generous love. Okay. Now we're going back to the guru. The false guru would be like what I'm saying, love isn't right. It's the personal need. Wanting something from whoever they're working with, whoever they're teaching, whoever their devotees are or whatever, in order to basically fulfill whatever those, those empty spaces are within the egoic identity that's needing validation or needing connection or needing to feel special or needing to be recognized or needing to maintain whatever form of identity and reality they're currently, their ego self is currently hanging onto. The true guru doesn't need any of that. The true guru is literally totally self-sufficient, and so all they are is generous. That's true, generous love. Okay. Uh, one more thing here from chat GBT that I also consider to be very important. It says there is often a disconnect between mystical experience and psychological integration. They may over identify with altered states, claiming them as proof of advance. Okay, so this is extremely important, so I'm gonna say this in my own way. Okay. Being all magical and multidimensional is not the be all, end all. Not only is it not a sign of enlightenment, like we already talked about, but it is not, it's not even a sign of, of basic psychological health. So n not only are you not necessarily looking at a real guru, but you might actually be looking at someone who's really psychologically unhealthy. Because what actually most matters is a healthy psychological development. When we have an egoic self, which means we are taking care. Of all parts of ourselves. We're not spiritually bypassing. We're not ignoring the ego. We're not clueless about what's in there. We're not allowing blind spots to remain. We're doing basically the therapeutic work we're working with. I love Internal Family Systems. IFS, we're working with all of our parts of self, right? That would be a phrase from IFS. And so there's no shame, there's no hiding, right? The problem with shame and hiding, which shame creates is hiding is then we're starting to repress certain aspects of the egoic self, and we're gonna be compensating for all of that stuff, and we're gonna be acting wonky and needing weird things, and then manipulating in order to get those needs met in weird ways, et cetera. It's a total disaster, and there's a lot of spiritual bypass and nobody wants to be around that. So the most important thing actually. When we're not enlightened, which I'm not, probably you're not, if you're listening to this, what's most important, the most important thing is our healthy psychological development, which on the deepest level is healing from trauma. And so that is the most, that is the best thing that we can do for our spiritual path, for spiritual growth, rather than, wow, look how magical and awesome all of those magical powers are of that teacher. I wanna have those magical powers too. Can you give them to me? How do I get them? I want that. Right. So as the student, we need to be discerning and aware of what's most important. So now let's look at the real guru. Okay? The real guru is simply God. Nature. They are. Literally a walking portal. What do I mean by portal? Let's make this very simple. Let's say ultimate reality is everything everywhere, all at once, all beingness. You could call it nothing. You could call it everything I you can call it. It's totally ineffable. So there's nothing I can say to really do it justice. That which is not locked in or locked out of or locked down, whatever the word locked is by some psychological mechanism that I'm calling the ego that limits you from truly experiencing freedom. There's some kind of a contraction, right? And so then in the not enlightened being, so in the Real Guru, you don't have that. You literally just have absolute. Everythingness, freedom, God, nature, presence, self total peace, total everythingness, no thought or limitation of being separate from anyone or anything. So they don't need anything because why would they need anything if they are everything? There's no self to defend, so there's nothing to hold up. There's nothing to need. Validation, there's nothing to identify as self, so there's nothing to have shame around or need to hide or need to compensate for. There is simply a sense of they don't need anything from you. They're complete, they're self-sufficient. They, they are agendaless. They don't have a concept of, of limited individual self. And so they don't have a role that they're playing that they need or want to uphold and that they need you to, to want or uphold. And thus they don't need your admiration. They don't need even care if you're there or not. They don't care about, about, I say this in a really loving way. They don't care about you in, in a good way, in the sense of like they don't care about you for their own self-concept.'cause they're beyond self-concept. And so if you come or don't come to them, or if you leave or come or you leave or you judge them or you love them or you're obsessed with them or you hate them, it doesn't matter to them because they don't have a sense of self that's getting created by what other people think of them. Whereas the false guru does, right? So they have no need to control anybody because they don't need anything from anybody. And it, they don't need to be liked. They don't need to be praised, they don't need to be validated. They don't even need anybody to be there. They don't need money from them. They don't need anything from them. So their love is simply free. This is the, the"ti voglio bene" type of love. This is just, it's even beyond that because"ti voglio bene" is like, it's, even that is an agenda, right? I want something for you. Even that is an agenda if you think about it. But the only reason I would want something for you would be because I think that you're incomplete or you are not. Okay. But I, but the real, I mean, this is conjecture. Okay. I'm not enlightened. This is just my guess is that they don't even have an agenda for you. Why would they? There's nothing wrong with you from their eyes. You don't need to get anywhere from their eyes. You don't need to be free from anything from their eyes because you're just going through whatever it is that you're going through and that's perfect and okay just the way it is, right? And here they are just emanating, everything is okay, everything is okay, everything is okay to you because to them everything is okay. Everything's perfect, just the way it is. Nothing needs to change. And so there's literally zero agenda or zero sense of control, So this is really important. When the guru interacts with the world in some kind of a teaching or healing way, it is literally simply God's grace and the generosity of divinity that is showering its blessings, just like the sun simply shines and we benefit and we actually, we need it for our lives and we also benefit and enjoy it. The spiritual, the true guru is there to show you that you are also the guru. Guru, meaning what I was calling a portal, which is divinity without ango self covering it up. So imagine, this is my new favorite metaphor. Imagine an advent calendar. For those who dunno what that is, imagine two pieces of paper on top of each other, and the one that's on top has all these little doors. You know, like those kids books that have flaps that you open. It's like that. And imagine that every person is one of those flaps of an advent calendar. Okay? So your go self is the flap, and when you open the flap, that which you truly are is underneath. Right. Notice that whatever is under the flap is actually the entire piece of paper behind that little doorway. It's, it's not a little square, it's the whole paper. Right? Meaning your authentic self is everythingness, just like everybody else's authentic self. It's all one. Right? Okay. So the guru, they don't even have a little flap. Their little flap came right off. It doesn't exist'cause they don't have an egoic overlay. That's what I mean by a portal. A portal is just an open doorway. There's no second piece of paper with a little doorway flap covering up what's underneath, right. Whereas, let's just say, uh, the completely, the ego self that is totally ignorant about the fact that it's an ego self in the first place and has zero spiritual journey whatsoever, would be an advent calendar door that has never been opened. The person who is on an awakening path would be, you know, the door is open and then it, sometimes it's closed, sometimes it's open, and it's kind of, kind of in the middle. Okay, so when you are in the presence of the Real Guru, they are simply a portal. What you're looking at when you see them is who you actually are. If you didn't believe that, you were more limited than that. So when you see them, you're seeing yourself just like in the advent calendar, let's say there's a pink piece of paper underneath and a blue piece of paper on top with the little doors, right? You would just be looking at pink. Well, the pink that you see through their doorway, through the portal that they are as this walking apparent human being is the same pink, right? Is the same piece of paper that's behind your door, whether your door is there or not, whether it's open or closed or whatever. The pink is still there, right? So the, the true gift of the guru is to be like, Hey, check this out. Here's the emanation. Of what it's like to not be limited. Here's the emanation of pink. This is you. It's coming through me right now because it's all of us. Right? So me, you. There's no difference in that anymore. It's like, this is, God, call it whatever you want. This is God, right? So the, the student who's with the real guru is like, oh my God, I'm looking at God. Right? But they know through the real guru's teachings that the real guru is like, yep, I am God and so are you. We are God. Right? Whereas the false guru is like, Ooh, this, you know, taking advantage. Kinda like, Ooh, this person thinks I'm God. First of all, they're not, because they still have their little advent calendar door, and they're getting a total high off of the fact that you're pedestal them because their ego self is now solidifying as a spiritual ego, and they're not there being like, Hey, by the way, you're also, God. They're like, oh yeah. Let's kind of forget that part so that you keep focusing on me, and then I can keep getting my high of thinking that I'm so great. Right. So there's the, the, the idolizing, the student is idolizing the, the, the, the false guru. And the false guru is basically taking that energy and it's solidifying the false guru's, spiritual ego. Meanwhile, with the real guru, the, the student is idolizing the real guru. But that's okay because there's no human self there. There's no separate self, there's no egoic self there to be taking that energy and blocking your sight from what truly is because what you're idolizing is God nature, because that's all that's left of. That being of what you're, what you're looking at. You think you're looking at a person that's like you, and that's like, I'm mean, this is my name, this is my lifetime. These are all my problems, these are my desires. That's, that's not what you're looking at. That person doesn't have that stuff. So you're looking at you, you're looking at. Us, you're looking at true nature, right? So go ahead and bow to that because you're actually, you're not dismissing yourself or abandoning yourself in that bow. You're actually acknowledging yourself more. You're acknowledging your true self more by acknowledging them because you're acknowledging their true self, which is the same as your true self ultimately. Meanwhile, if you're stuck with the false guru thing, you're bowing to somebody's personality self, and then it's like, now you're in a sub dom context without anybody having consented to that, where it's like the dominant and submissive, you know, you're in some weird BDSM situation, Allah spirituality with no awareness or consent by either party or at least by one of the parties, AKA U. So you're duped. Whereas when you're honoring, when you're bowing to that, which is. Only divinity and nothing else. There's no separation between selves. So there's nothing to lose. There's only to gain, which is you becoming closer to your own true nature. So the true guru is only gonna direct you towards God, God, God, God, God, God, God. They know that they are nothing. Whatever they means, they know that whatever you're looking at and thinking is them. Like the face that they have and the name that they have. That's nothing. That's a vessel. It's a vessel that has no agenda, no needs, no desires. And so they also, by the way, they have no personal love. They don't have, oh, I love you more than I love that person.'cause they have no preferences, so there's no specialness. Whereas the false guru is all about specialness. They're gonna be. Telling you that you're really special and that's gonna kind of hook you in. And then they're gonna tell you that they are really special, and that's gonna keep you obsessed with them and ogling over them and believing in them. Whereas the real guru, they're just there. And so they don't have to be doing all of the, they don't have to be doing a big show for you. They don't have to reveal, Hey, look how magical I am. I'm gonna do all these miracles in front of you so that you think I'm so great. Right? Some gurus like, like Satya Sa Baba, for example, real guru, he would materialize physical things out of thin air. Some gurus do that in order to break your false belief around what's truly possible and, and what you think the material world is, right? It's a way of being like, it it, Hey, open your mind. Way more is possible than you realize, than you think. Right? There are other gurus who will act really dumb and pretend they don't know anything, and pretend that they can't do anything simply because they don't wanna distract you or whatever their intention is. Who knows? It's all for your good. Okay. In the next episode, we're going to compare the false guru and the real guru a little bit more. And then we're also going to talk about what characteristics in your own psyche might make you susceptible to falling for a false guru, as well as what qualities in your psyche might become wounded as a result of having related with a false guru, or simply been in a culture with people who are very hurt by that, or skeptical of that, and how it might be difficult to relate with a real guru, as well as what the experience of relating with a real guru is like, and some final closings around some basic advice of, you know, if you're unsure or whatever, what might be some things that you can do. thank you for being with me in The Ground of Love.
