5 Ways to Partner With Christ To Get Your Work Done

Kathleen Fischer

Building a business can be exciting AND challenging.

While we come to the calling with an array of God-given gifts and talents, along with a passionate heart to fulfill God's will, the WORK of building a business can be downright DAUNTING.

That's because God's call is bigger than us.

It is designed to require CHRIST to empower YOU to succeed in the work.

But few people know HOW to be empowered by Christ amidst their DAILY tasks.

So we and our businesses become HINDERED by our lack of Chirst-empowered wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and the help we need to do the work.

In turn...

We avoid hard tasks.

Our productivity suffers from the weakness of our flesh.

And we become DEEPLY DISCOURAGED as we fail to succeed in GETTING THE WORK DONE that is required to grow the business.

But Christ stands ready to empower us in EVERY TASK.

Therefore, it is critical to LEARN HOW TO PARTNER WITH HIM in every moment of our day.

That's why today's podcast outlines the 5 powerful steps to follow each day so that you can partner with Christ to get your work DONE.

Don't miss it!

I'll meet you inside.

With love,
Kathleen

I look forward to helping YOU become a Christ-Empowered Entrepreneur and Leader.

Hi there friend. I'm Kathleen Fisher and today we're going to look at something very practical. How to partner with Jesus to get your work done.

Do you find yourself feeling stressed and missed your work?

Do you freeze when you don't know what to do next?

Are you avoiding your work because it intimidates you.

Well, you are not alone.

Many women I speak with are bright, talented, committed to fulfilling God's will, and yet struggle with the many daunting tasks required to grow a business.

But here's the good news.

When God has called you to build a business, he is committed to empowering you to fulfill that call.

He has placed you in Christ and filled you with his holy spirit to help you succeed in that calling.

Will there be hard things and hard times? Yes. Just look at scripture. Following God's call will always be bigger than your gifts and talents.

It will require Jesus' leading and the power of the holy spirit to accomplish it.

God has designed it this way so that Jesus gets the glory in the fulfillment of the calling and we become deeply connected to him in that process.

So as hard as it is, it is a win-win if we will allow it to be.

But if we look at growing a business through the lens of being the one who has to accomplish it all, the challenges will intimidate us and stress us out.

I would even say they will downright freak us out.

But so it is with following God. It is not a straight line with a map for every future move.

It is a journey of faith and an ever-deepening relationship with God that brings forth his glory.

So let's look at the story today through God's lens and learn how to partner with Christ in our work

so our business will move forward to fulfill God's call.

In that partnership, we will learn how to live and move and fulfill god's calling through a glorious dance of oneness with Christ.

Let's pray and then we'll get started.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you created us from before time to fulfill your will for our lives on this earth.

We thank you that you did not leave us on our own to fulfill the good work of your calling, but have made us one with you in Christ, and filled us with your holy spirit to empower us.

We are never alone in the work. We are fully supported by you, the creator and sustainer of all the universe. We ask you now, Father, in this space that you would cleanse our hearts with the blood of Christ and sanctify us with the truth of our oneness with you in Christ.

Awaken our understanding of what it looks like to partner with your son, Jesus, in the work you've called us to do so that we may become strong and courageous in the same way we see those who have gone before us in scripture.

I asked Father that you will sanctify my words in Christ so that they may bring the help you have designed them to bring to your daughters to powerfully build the businesses you have called them to build through the power of Jesus Christ.

For it is in the name of Jesus that we ask all these things. Amen.

Okay.

Let's dive in.

The scripture that sets the stage for our discussion today is found in Colossians 2:10, where we read these words of the Lord.  For in Christ, all the fullness of the deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness.

I'll be honest. I cannot count the number of times that I felt overwhelmed and intimidated by the work required to grow the business God called me to build.

Sure. He had already given and affirmed the gift of his power in my coaching. He long ago proved his calling into training, and given me a strong background in productivity and project management.

But whew, add in things like social media, creating videos for YouTube in front of a green dot.  Writing copy for emails and sales pages, graphic design work, and well, stress would be an understatement for how I felt.

Maybe you've even heard my story about how I shelved my whole business over these things many years ago.  Only to have God lead me through an even more daunting, personal story that taught me firsthand that Christ holds the power to overcome every obstacle we will ever face. And he is the one who will lead and empower us to fulfill what God has called us to do.

So, how did I learn to partner with Christ to handle the daunting tasks of a growing business?  Jesus literally taught me how to lean into him for the help I needed each day.  And to document what I was experiencing, so that I could pass that training along to others, like you.

So today I'm going to share the five steps I've learned to follow all day - every day in business to receive the help I need from Christ and the holy spirit to do the work required to build a business.

I call this the Christ-Empowered Success Path.

I follow this path over and over in my days so that I can continually partner with Christ to achieve the success God has planned for me in each day.

I'll share the names of each step  and then describe each one of them for you.

They are Align. Assess.  Activate.  Accomplish and Achieve.

Let's follow the steps together through a day. So you can see how they lead us into Christ-empowered success.

First, the step that many people skip.  Aligning ourselves with Christ.

This is the most important step because it creates the connection with Christ, from which everything else you do will flow.

This step involves meeting with Christ before you enter the work so that you can align your whole being with him. Your heart.  Your soul. Your mind. And your body for the work that is to be done.

For me, this starts the moment I awake. When I resist the temptation to think about work, and instead I say good morning to the Lord and I thank God for making me one with him.

I thank him for his acceptance of me just as I am. For his love for me. And for his power and commitment to lead me in the day ahead.

On especially stressful days, I spend extra time resting quietly with him, deeply breathing in his presence, feeling him filling me with his peace and abundant life.  It washes away my fears and fills me with confidence in his power to help me.

As my feet hit the floor I say, "thank you, Jesus, for all your glory that I will experience today as you help me to fulfill Father's will."

From there, the first part of every morning is devoted to aligning myself with Jesus.

For me, this includes exercise, a worship walk, scripture, and journaling what a sense the Lord is speaking to me that morning.

I eat a healthy breakfast and then head into the day.

You may think I don't have time for all that.

Well, your schedule may be a bit different than mine but Jesus has proven one thing to me that is for us all.

We must begin our days with Jesus.

We must align with him before we enter the work.

Otherwise, we will be quickly pulled down the paths of this world, and drown in the undertow of our flesh.

Apart from him, we can do nothing of eternal power.

Apart from him, we cannot bear the fruit god has planned for us through Christ.

But when we align ourselves with Jesus, we move forward to work together with him from what I call The Place of Glory, where we are living out of our oneness with him,  where his wisdom fills us and empowers us in the work.  Where his strength helps us to do hard things.  Where his power produces more than we could've ever imagined or accomplished apart from him.

So let's practice getting this first step in place within our lives. It will establish the source of wisdom, strength, and power for every one of your days.

Step two. Assess.

In this step, we work together with Jesus to assess the tasks we are about to do.

We check in to make sure they are still the best steps in the best order for the time and energy we have on that day.

I highly suggest creating these steps the day before, at the end of your day, when you are freshly aware of the next things that need to get done.  That way you come into the new day with a list to review with Jesus, rather than a blank page that requires extra thought to design the tasks upon it.

Whether you already have a list or need to create one, you are one with Christ and he will help you assess the tasks that are best as you prayerfully review what you believe needs to be done.   You will be able to feel the right tasks in the right order.

This is the time to remember you are not alone.

Christ is by your side, ready to accomplish the tasks together with you.

So don't let scary tasks intimidate you, but see them as an opportunity to experience Christ's presence and help to take you through them.

Step # 3. Activate.  This is when you step into the tasks together with Christ.

I begin with a short prayer.

Thank you, Lord, that you are with me in this. Please fill me with all I need to succeed.  I take a deep breath. Feeling the Lord within me. And I begin the work.

I lean into what needs to be done and know that the holy spirit is empowering me with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as I work.

I breathe often within my work drawing abundant life from Christ and remembering that my oneness with Christ affords me all I need to accomplish the work.

 Step number four. Accomplish.

As we do our work, it is common to run into sticky spots where we don't know how to proceed, what to say, or how to handle something or perhaps technology issues arise and threaten our work.

While all of these can cause us to experience fear, doubt, overwhelm, or even panic, Christ is greater than them all.

Therefore the key to this step is to remember that we have been given the holy spirit as our helper.

The Lord knows the way through the obstacles we are facing and he is eager to help us navigate it.

If we lack wisdom or understanding scripture tells us in James 1 that we can ask for wisdom and it will be given to us generously without any condemnation.

The key to receiving this wisdom is to give thanks to God for it once we have asked. For, he has promised to give it.  Doubting he will give it or that we will recognize it creates an environment of static or rough seas within our mind that prevent us from being able to receive it.

Giving thanks until we have received the wisdom is the antidote to doubt.

As we face the obstacles together with the Lord, we will deepen our faith and relationship with him as we see him helping us.

As we experienced the Lord's help, our relationship will grow with him, along with our confidence that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

As we accomplish our work together with Christ. We will be moved into the final step of our success path.

Step number five. Achieve.

In this step, we celebrate the work we have achieved by pausing to recognize its impact on our business ourselves and the people we serve.

This celebration can be small,, at the end of a task or the day. Or larger at the end of a week. And even include a celebratory reward that we have planned when we achieve a big milestone.

Celebration is critical to keeping our energy up in our businesses.

It reminds us of all that is good and keeps us from falling into the trap of becoming drones, who simply move from one task to the next, with no way of enjoying the life that the completed work brings.

When we celebrate, we are pausing to give glory and thanks to God for his help.

This further deepens our faith, confidence, and courage for the work ahead.

In this step, we also take the time to wrap up the task we just accomplished in a way that prepares us to move forward to the next step.

For example, taking notes immediately after a call with a prospect or client will keep us from trying to remember what played out in that conversation.    These notes, set us up for success in our next call with that person.

There are many systems we can put in place at the end of tasks or projects to solidify the wisdom and knowledge from the work completed, thereby empowering us to accomplish similar work with greater ease in the future.

These five steps, create a Christ-Empowered Success Path that steadily moves us through our days so that our business can move forward, accomplishing the work with Christ at the center of all we do.

When we begin our business days by aligning ourselves with Christ, and then intentionally partnering with him in each phase of our work, we will be empowered by him to achieve God's call, to grow a business that impacts the world and glorifies Christ.

 So, how about you?

As I shared these steps, which ones are you already applying in your business?

Which ones do you need to intentionally begin to practice?

The Father has made you one with Christ and filled you with the Holy Spirit so that you can do the work you were created to do through your oneness with Him.

Let's not forfeit the power of Christ within our business days,

but rather let's celebrate his glory as he empowers us to succeed in the work we are called to do.

If you know someone who can benefit from today's episode, be sure to share it with them. And don't hesitate to visit the show notes for additional information and resources that will help you become a Christ-empowered entrepreneur.

 Let's pray.

Heavenly Father. We thank you again for the incredible gift of oneness and eternal life that you have given us in Christ.  We are so grateful that you did not simply tell us what to do. You empower us to do it, through your Son, Jesus, and your Holy Spirit.

Awaken us to the power that you have given us to fulfill your will and to grow the business you've called us to build.

Help us to grow daily in our ability to partner with Christ so that your will is done on earth as it is in heaven.

We asked for this with Thanksgiving Father through Jesus Christ. Our Lord. Amen.

Take care of till next time.
