Hi there friend. I'm Kathleen Fisher and today we're going to take a closer look at the challenges we face and their power to transform our stories and bring success to our business.
Let's face it. None of us like it when challenges rise up within our business.
We tend to feel threatened by them and often become paralyzed by them.
But, what if the challenges we face are actually golden opportunities to experience the glory of Christ within our lives?
What if they are the very instruments god will use to grow us into the women we were created to be and to see how the Lord uses them to bring forth success in the work that the Father has called us to do.
So, if you've ever found yourself being undone, When challenges show up to threaten you, Stick with me today while we learn how to transform challenges into growth and success.
Let's pray and then we'll get started.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you always have a greater plan for the challenges we face than what we naturally see.
Help us today to shift the way we see the challenges so that we can align ourselves with you, and experience them as opportunities for our growth and the growth of the businesses you've called us to build.
Illuminate our minds. Our hearts. Our souls and our spirit with your perspective that brings life. Peace, and power to walk victoriously to every challenge we will ever face.
We asked for this blessing Father through Jesus Christ. Our Lord. Amen.
There are two scriptures that set the stage for today's conversation.
The first is James 1:2-4.
Through the words of James, the Lord reminds us of the power of trials to bring forth our growth that will strengthen us in Christ. So that in him, we gain all we need to fulfill the Father's will.
Here are the words of the Lord spoken through James.
Consider it all joy. My brethren. When you encounter various trials. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance and let endurance have its perfect result. So that you may be perfect and complete. Lacking nothing.
Interestingly, as I prayed for this episode, the Lord also brought to mind, John 10:10, where Jesus says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come to give you life in abundance.
Both of these scriptures bring forth an important truth that will set us free from the sabotaging hindrances of challenges and empower us to experience the glory of Christ, transforming our lives and our work in the process.
Here is the truth. We must learn to live by.
Jesus Christ is greater than every challenge you will ever experience.
I'll say that again.
Jesus Christ is greater than every challenge you will ever experience.
He knows the way through it.
He holds the victory over it.
And, if we will allow him, he will use it to deepen our relationship with him to become more of who we were created to be and to see the power he holds to fulfill God's good works in the process.
While there are many stories I could share to prove the truth of this statement in both my life and the lives of those I coach, there is one story that really stands out as an example of this truth.
It is the story where the Lord first saturated my awareness of the truth that he is greater than every challenge we will ever face.
It was a time when the Lord called upon me, the kumbaya youngest of my family to go to battle, to rescue my mother from the care of a step-family member.
When this story began to develop. All of my siblings agreed that I was the least likely one to send into battle. I'm the youngest. And I don't like to fight with people or systems. But I was the one who lived closest while the rest of my family lived hundreds or thousands of miles away.
I was also the one who held a deep relationship with our mother, and honestly it simply became clear to us all that God was calling me to take the lead.
We quietly realized that God had some growth in store for me. And that he wanted to use this story to display his power and glory.
In this rescue mission, I was called upon to take a stand against medical administrators, nurses, doctors, surgeons lawyers, and judges in a countless series of events where my mother's rights were being violated and she was being held captive against her will.
As the story unfolded. I experienced countless times when things looked completely impossible.
But in every case, Jesus showed me the way through.
Whether he brought a word of instructions through a caring staff member. Or revelation on how to navigate a situation, so that I could come out on top. Or he wove together circumstances to bring about an outcome that ultimately brought my mother, the freedom she deserved and the opportunity for me to be the one to care for her.
The journey to rescue my mother took nearly two years and tested every ounce of my faith and strength. But it was where I learned that Jesus is greater than every challenge we will ever face.
It was a journey where Jesus transformed my identity from the smallest and weakest member of my family to the daughter of the most high God of all the universe who knew that her strength, wisdom, and power comes from Christ.
It was a journey where Jesus displayed his glory over and over again right through to the final moments, where the medical staff still tried to hold my mother back, but had to watch as I and my nurse friend drove away with my mother in my car for the four-hour drive to my home.
God had used the challenge to draw me and my mother into a deep relationship of dependence on him.
He used the challenge to shape me into the woman he had made me to be, and that I needed to become, to walk with greater success in the good works he has planned for me.
And he used the challenge. To show us all that Christ is the one who will lead us into success for the good works that the Father has created us to do.
Since this story, Christ has continued to show me and those I work with, that in every challenge, whether it is a debilitating negative mindset, or confusion about the way forward, or victory over technology, learning curves and changes we need to make in business, he holds the power to comfort us, strengthen us and, show us the way through to success.
This is what it looks like to be Christ-empowered for the work God has called us to do.

Are they intimidating you and causing you to pull back with fear and doubt?
Remember the words of Jesus when we began this episode that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus has come to give you life in abundance.
He has come to show you the way to navigate all that you will ever encounter.
He has filled you with his holy spirit. And made you one with him.
There is nothing he can not take you through.
And as he does, he will lead you into a deeper relationship with the triune God of all the universe. He will shape you into the woman you were created to be. And he will empower you with his glory, to fulfill the good works he is calling you to do as you walk in oneness with him.
The key is to believe in all that Jesus has spoken and shown to us.
Just as Gideon and stepped out of his cave, putting his faith in God, and obeying everything the Lord told him to do, you can step out from your hiding places, put your faith in God, and your hand in Christ's, and obey what he is showing you to do.
And in so doing, he will strengthen your relationship with him.
He will mature you into the woman you were created to be, and he will lead you to succeed in the good works God is calling you to do.

Father God. Thank you, that you have not left us alone on this earth to fulfill your good works. But rather you have filled us with your holy spirit, that unites us with Christ, who will lead us into victory over every challenge we face so that your will can be done and your glory can be displayed on the earth.
Strengthen us Lord through your holy spirit to put our faith in you, and all of your promises to lead and empower us to gain victory over the challenges we face.
Transform the way we see ourselves, and the way we see Jesus Christ as our Lord. So that together with him we may walk in the abundant life that he died to give us.
We ask for all these things, Father with Thanksgiving and praise through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
