I look forward to helping YOU become a Christ-Empowered Entrepreneur and Leader.

Hi there friend. Have you found yourself frustratingly debilitated by negative thoughts and feelings that drain your energy and sabotage your ability to get your work done?

It can seem like one day you're flying high in the power of the holy spirit filled with joy and confidence, and the next day, you find yourself under the weight of a negative perspective.

Well, you are not alone.

My name is Kathleen Fisher and I've struggled with this, along with many of the women I have the privilege of working with. That's why today we're going to look at the source of this problem. And also the solution to this problem.

Let's pray. And then we'll dive in.

Heavenly father. Thank you. That you do not condemn us for the pit of negative [00:01:00] thoughts and feelings that we can fall into.

Instead, you have provided us with a way out.

Lead us today to gain your wisdom and understanding that will set us free from this frustrating problem so that we can walk vibrantly in alignment with Christ in the work you've called us to do.

Renew our hearts. Our souls. And our minds with your truth so that we may experience your glory in all of our days.

We thank you for your power to set us free through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

There are many scriptures that provide a foundation for the topic we are addressing today. But there are a few that really highlight what God wants us to learn.

These include Ephesians chapter 6:10-17. Philippians 4:8. [00:02:00]
 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. And 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Today we will weave these scriptures together to bring you both the wisdom and power to gain victory over the negative thoughts and emotions that are sabotaging your business.

Let's start by looking at the story we often find ourselves in.

Can you relate to the common story I shared a few moments ago, where you were doing fine one day, walking in the glory of Christ, but suddenly the next day you see them undone by negative thoughts and emotions?

Have you ever wondered how that can be?

Has it ever caused you to feel discouraged and defeated, and lacking the energy you need to get your work done?

If so, you are [00:03:00] not alone.

I've experienced this countless times and so have the women I work with. I have also consistently heard of this struggle from the strong women and men of God that I've spoken with, who are seeking to walk in God's will upon the earth.

All of the people I am referring to are passionate about God and his call upon their lives.

So, how is it that we can be walking in the glory of Christ one moment and struggling the next?

In a nutshell, it is an attack from the enemy who is determined to steal, kill, and destroy the good work we are seeking to walk in and take us out in the process.

And it is connected to the weakness of our flesh.

You see, as humans, we all struggle with thoughts and beliefs that are not aligned with Christ and the truths of God.

We don't mean to have this weakness.

While we are [00:04:00] saved in Christ, our lives are on a journey of being transformed into the image and fullness of Christ.

Thankfully, there is no condemnation for us in Christ and God's word shows us the path to victory over the enemy and the weakness of our flesh.

That victory is rooted in the power of giving thanks.

Let's start with God's word in Ephesians 6, where God tells us to be strong in the Lord; to take our stand against the schemes of the enemy; and to put on the full armor of God.

Paul is reminding us that we are in a continual battle with the spiritual forces of darkness.

Every piece of armor, he mentions plays an active role in bringing forth the victory of God over the schemes of the enemy in our daily lives. [00:05:00] Therefore, we must take God's command here seriously.

We must take our stand, and we must fight back with the spiritual weapons we have, including the truths of God, our faith in God, and prayer.

Let's connect that with Paul's words from prison that instruct us to dwell on all that is true and worthy of praise.

Notice that Paul uses the word dwell upon; which carries the translation of "pitch your tent upon";. It is telling us to literally "camp out on top of" all that is good, excellent, and especially what is true and worthy of praise.

Add to this 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 where we are told that we have spiritual weapons to demolish every stronghold and vain imagination that stands itself up [00:06:00] against the truth of God.

And, finally, in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we hear God instructing us again through Paul, to give thanks in all things for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus.

You see. Every day is a day to walk in the glory of Christ.

And every day we have an enemy who prowls around seeking for those he can destroy.

While he cannot separate us from Christ, he can launch the fiery darts of negative thoughts and lies that seek to set themselves up against the truths of God.

If these fiery darts lodge themselves into our hearts, souls, and minds, we will come under their power to distract, discourage, and dismantle our strength.

Thus, we must learn to follow God's word to be alert; [00:07:00] to take our stand; and to actively use our spiritual weapons, to gain the victory over the enemy's schemes to steal the vibrant life of Christ that lives within us.

While there are many spiritual weapons, I've noticed that giving thanks is one that many people forget.

It seems too common and simple.

But it is neither common nor simple.

It is filled with the power of God to defeat the schemes of the enemy and to renew our hearts, souls, minds, and bodies with the truth of God.

So how do we turn all this wisdom from God's word into a strategy that will bring us the victory we seek to do the work of God?

Well there's much I can and do say about this, but today, I'd like to start you out with a couple of simple steps that can lay a foundation for [00:08:00] creating victory that will empower your work.

Number one. Recognize that negative thoughts, beliefs, and feelings are not from the Lord. The Lord is the giver of abundant life.

He will never speak a word to you or bring forth a thought that drains your energy or causes you to feel distracted, discouraged, or dismayed.

Therefore, whenever you are feeling the weight of negative thoughts and feelings, consider it an alarm that wakes you up to the attempts of the enemy and the weakness of your flesh to separate you from the abundant life of Christ within you.

Number two. Take your stand and renounce the negative thoughts and feelings you are struggling with.

Recognize that they are taking a stand against the truth of God [00:09:00] and take them captive to the obedience of Christ.

Number three, change your focus to giving thanks to God for all the truths he has spoken to you and all, you know, to be true and good from God.

Remind your heart of all the promises God has spoken to you in Christ.

Number four. Give thanks out loud because this comes directly against the spiritual forces of darkness that are opposing you.

And number five. Ask the holy spirit to help you. For in Romans 8:6, we are told that the holy spirit can govern our minds. And when he does, he will bring forth life and peace.

As you give thanks to God and sing praises to him for all that is good and true. He will draw near to you.

He will settle your mind and renew your [00:10:00] soul.

He will comfort you, and strengthen you with his abiding and loving presence.

The enemy is rendered powerless by our weapon of praises and thanks-givings to God.

Therefore he will flee.

You will feel your spirit lifting, and the abundant life of Christ rising up within you.

Your strength will be renewed.

And you will be able to move forward once again in the glory of Christ that lives within you.

This is the power of giving thanks that brings victory to your life and work; Realigning you with Christ, so that His abundant life can move through you once again, into all you do.

So let's pause here for a moment.

What is God showing you through today's message? [00:11:00]

Feel free to pause. And think about it.

God wants us to be wise about the cause of the negative thoughts and feelings that sabotage our work.

And he wants us to learn how to take our stand to gain the victory he has for us in Christ.

So let's not just listen in. Let's commit to gaining that victory.

And let's invite others to do the same.

If you've resonated with today's message, be sure to share it with those who will also benefit from it.

And if you'd like additional support in gaining the victory Christ has for you, feel free to check out today's show notes.

Let's pray.

Father God, what a glorious victory you have given us in Christ.

[00:12:00] You have given us the spiritual weapon of giving thanks that draws us back to you and defeats the schemes of the enemy.

Thank you for your word of truth that sets us free.

Help us to no longer forfeit this precious weapon, but to learn to use it consistently in our lives to experience the victory Christ came to give us.

We lift ourselves before you and offer you our praise and Thanksgiving for the power you have given us through your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Bye-bye. Till next time.
