[00:00:00] Welcome, friend. I'm so delighted that you've chosen to join me today.
Whether you're listening on your morning walk, over coffee, or between client calls, I'm glad you're here.
Let's set the stage for time together by imagining, we've escaped our work for some personal time together.
We're sitting across from each other at a little cafe table. Coffee cups in hand, notebooks nearby, and the sound of life gently happening around us.
We are relieved to have this time together to share our hearts and consider God's perspective for our businesses.
You look up from your cup and sigh.
And you say, Kathleen, I love God. I really do, and I believe he's called me into business, [00:01:00] but sometimes business just feels hard.
I keep asking him to bless the work, but I still feel a sense of pressure, times of confusion, and even doubt about whether I'm doing something wrong.
This heaviness is keeping me awake at night.
I don't think doing business with God is supposed to feel this way, but I don't know what's wrong and I'm starting to get discouraged.
I friend, if you resonate with this, you're not alone.
Many of the Christian women I've been talking with are sharing these or similar feelings.
Women who genuinely love God, but are still wrestling with stress, overwhelm, and frustration in their business. And I truly get it because I've been there too
For years, I carried that quiet exhaustion [00:02:00] silently within me.
That feeling of I'm praying and I'm doing all that the best advisors are telling me to do. So why does it still feel so stressful and heavy?
And that's exactly why I'm creating today's podcast because there is a reason for our struggles as Christians in business that the world is not telling us.
But there's a beautiful, biblical solution that will bring peace, clarity, and purpose back into every part of our work.
And I want to share that reason, and the beautiful solution with you.
So here's where we're going today.
We're going to look at three things.
The pain we experience in business, and what it reveals.
The truth from God's word that shows us the reason we feel this way.
And the [00:03:00] shift God is calling us to make so we can live and work from the peace, power, and security we already have in Christ.
All right, let's pray and then we'll dive in.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you have created us to walk in oneness with you.
Thank you that you do not want us to build a business for you, but for the business to be a vessel of the glory of your son Jesus, as he flows in us and through us to fulfill your perfect will on this earth.
Help us today, Father, to recognize your guidance through the power of your Holy Spirit so that we may understand the struggles we are experiencing and the glorious solutions you have provided for us in Christ.
We praise you and thank you for your love, [00:04:00] and your power to shift us into the life-giving way you have already provided for us in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Bring forth your glory as we listen to your word and lead us to respond in concrete ways through the power of your Holy Spirit.
We bow before you in our hearts and ask for these blessings through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Okay, let's lean in together while I share what I've been hearing from many women lately, and maybe you'll recognize yourself in some of their words.
From one woman I heard, "Kathleen, I feel weary to the bone from the work of my business. I try not to overwork or get stressed, but there's always so much to get done.
I feel so [00:05:00] tired and I don't know what to do about it."
Oof. I could feel that one in my bones because that was me for years, and here's what God revealed to me in Matthew 11:28 - 30. Jesus says, come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
And in Proverbs 3:5-6, the Lord says, to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path.
You see, the Lord's ways are not the same as the world's ways.[00:06:00]
So often we listen to the advice of others without checking in with the Lord.
We forget to turn to him and learn from him before we commit to the actions recommended by others.
We assume the advice is right because it looks right in the ways of the world.
But the Lord's ways are different than the world's ways.
His ways are lighter, wiser, and less burdensome. Without realizing that we slip into the world's pattern of striving, trying to make things happen in our own strength.
That's what I call working from "The Land of I".
But Jesus is inviting us to work with him from " The Place of Glory", a place of security, internal rest and oneness with him where he guides and by faith we follow, even if it looks different from those [00:07:00] around us.
Here's what another woman has said. "I just don't feel confident in what I'm doing anymore. I second guess myself. What I say, what I post and who I am. I don't feel worthy or capable of God's call."
Can you relate to that? If so, you're not alone.
But here is God's perspective on who you are.
In Colossians 2:10, God's word declares you have been made complete in Christ.
In Ephesians 1:4-6, it says, God chose us before the creation of the world and adopted us into his family.
In Ephesians 2:10, God says that you are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that he created from before time, so [00:08:00] that you would walk in them
According to God, your worth isn't something you earn.
It's something you have already been given.
God designs his chosen ones to be capable through His power dwelling within them.
Consider Moses, Gideon, David, and others whom God called.
He called them to something higher than was possible in and of themselves.
That's how God works.
So when those imposter thoughts come, they're not revealing that you're inadequate.
They're revealing that you're seeking to draw your confidence from the wrong place, from yourself.
Your confidence isn't to come from yourself.
It comes from who lives within you, the Lord God Almighty.[00:09:00]
Here's another common thing I hear.
"I really want to follow God's will, but I'm confused. I can't tell if I'm making the right decisions."
We can all feel confusion when we are unsure of what decision to make.
But God has spoken his precious promises to us in his word, that he will guide us and provide the wisdom we need.
Again, in Proverbs 3:5-6, the Lord says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways, submit to him and he will make your path straight. Our confusion often reveals that we've been leading on our own understanding or the understanding of others more than God.
We've been trying to figure [00:10:00] things out with logic and the patterns of this world rather than pausing to listen to the leading of the spirit.
But James 1:5 tells us if you lack wisdom, ask and it will be given generously to all who ask.
God confirms that he will guide us as we look to him.
We are one with God in Christ. He is eager to guide us as we ask with Thanksgiving in light of his promises to answer.
You will recognize his leading, but the supernatural peace it brings, even if it doesn't make sense to you or those around you.
Here's another thing that many women have shared. And I have felt this myself.
"I see other entrepreneurs doing so well, and I start to question whether I'm doing enough [00:11:00] or if God is going to bless me in the work he's given me."
Oh, how often the enemy uses comparison to steal our joy.
But Galatians 6:4-5 tells us each one must examine their own work for each one will bear his own load.
And in Romans 12:4-6 we are reminded that the body of Christ has many members each with different gifts, all valuable, all essential.
God didn't create you to compete with someone else's calling or journey. He created you to complete a unique and valuable piece of His kingdom picture.
Friend, your lane is sacred and God shows you to walk with him in the fulfillment of his will.
[00:12:00] He longs for you to focus on him and to trust him that what he has spoken to you, he will accomplish.
The Lord speaks of this beautiful promise in Luke 1:45 when Elizabeth greets Mary and says. "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord will accomplish that, which he has spoken to her."
I have read that verse nearly every morning for the past five years.
When you stay rooted in Christ, your fruit will be exactly what God designed it to be, and it will come forth in the exact season God has planned from the beginning of time.
Finally, here's what some of the most talented women I know say:
"Kathleen, I just want to get it right. I don't want to disappoint God."
They [00:13:00] feel the responsibility of the talents God has given to them. But Hebrews 10:14 says, by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. Perfection comes from the Lord and his sacrifice on your behalf.
It does not come from striving.
Perfection comes from Christ.
Our assignment is to walk in oneness with the Lord through his grace.
The pressure to prove or perform isn't from God.
It's a sign that we've slipped back into the self-focused ways of this world over God's grace.
You may be noticing that there's a pattern in all of these struggles, and it's this.
Every pain, whether overwhelm, [00:14:00] fear, striving, confusion, or comparison has the same root.
We've been trying to find our peace, security, satisfaction, and power in ourselves and in the world instead of in Christ.
But the good news is this, in 2 Peter 1:3-4, God tells us that his divine power has already given us everything we need for life and godliness.
Christ Himself has said in John 15:5, if you abide in me, you will bear much fruit.
This means God has already given you the wisdom, the grace, the creativity, and the power you need to fulfill his will.
It has been given to you through Christ because you have been made one with him and he indwells you [00:15:00] through the Holy Spirit.
Praise be to God that he isn't calling us to fix our flesh. It has been crucified with Christ.
He is calling us to learn to walk in the glory of the oneness we have already been given in Christ.
My precious sister. The time has come.
God is calling his daughters in business to come out of the patterns of this world and back to himself.
He is not looking to just bless your work for your happiness on earth.
He's looking to RECLAIM IT for the glory of his son.
He wants us to shift from chasing the security, success, and satisfaction we seeking from this world, to enjoying the security and blessings we already have in Christ.
Because when we live [00:16:00] and work from The Place of Glory with Christ, the business becomes God's sanctuary.
A place where his peace, power, and joy flow in us and through us for his glory on the earth.
My friend, this is the shift the world is missing.
True security, peace, and joy don't come from what we build.
They flow from our oneness with God in Christ.
You don't have to strive anymore. You're invited to abide in Christ.
Abide in his presence.
Abide in his peace.
Abide in his power as you work from the place of glory together with him.
As you do, Christ [00:17:00] himself will produce his fruit through your life and business for his glory and the good of those you will impact on this earth.
This is the work God has called me to do. To equip his daughters in business, to walk in their oneness with Christ, to fulfill God's will for their life and business, all to the glory of God.
It's time for you to rise up, experience the victory of Christ, and be the vessel you were created to be.
Your next step - decide you'll commit to make the shift.
To no longer conform to the patterns of this world, but to walk in the oneness you have with Christ.

And be sure to share this podcast [00:18:00] with a friend or colleague.
Let's pray.
Father God, how can we thank you enough for all you have done for us through your son Jesus Christ?
Forgive us, father, for our pursuit of this world over the glory of your son.
Wash away our unrighteousness with his blood and draw us into the fullness you have given us with yourself in Jesus Christ.
We surrender ourselves to you and ask you to empower us through your Holy Spirit to make the shift; to align with you for your glory on this earth.
We ask for this Father with Thanksgiving through your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
May God's blessing be upon you. Till next time, [00:19:00] bye-bye.
