If you’re a Christian woman in business who has faith in God yet still feels anxious, pressured, or stuck in cycles of striving, this episode will help you understand why — and the solution God has for you.

✨ Episode Description

Why does business feel overwhelming — even when your faith is strong?

Many Christian women in business feel confused by the tension they carry:

They love God.
They trust the truths of Scripture.
They want their work to honor Him.

Yet they feel anxious, overwhelmed, and under constant pressure.

In this episode, Kathleen Fischer uncovers the real reason so many faith-driven entrepreneurs experience burnout, doubt, and striving — even while sincerely walking with God.

This is not about working harder, praying more, or becoming more disciplined.

It’s about recognizing the hidden pattern shaping how you build.

Through Scripture and a deeply personal story, Kathleen introduces two powerful frameworks that will guide this series:

  • The Land of I — the world’s pattern of self-reliance and self-empowerment

  • The Place of Glory — God’s real place for us to live and work from in oneness with Christ

This episode brings clarity to the root cause of feeling overwhelmed in business — and opens the door to a different way of building.

🌿 In This Episode, You’ll Gain Clarity On

  • Why overwhelm and anxious striving show up even in women with strong faith
  • How the world quietly trains us toward self-reliance in business
  • Why self-focused effort produces fear, overwhelm, and pressure
  • What Scripture means by “the pattern of this world” (Romans 12:2)
  • How identity in Christ changes where you work from
  • The difference between operating from The Land of I and The Place of Glory

This episode serves as an awakening — helping you see what may be shaping your business without you realizing it.

✨ Why This Episode Matters

The problem isn’t your faith.

The problem is the place we are building from.

When Christian women unknowingly build from the world’s way of self-empowerment, they experience the natural fruit of anxiety, overwhelm, and striving.

But Christ offers another way.

A different place to live and work from.

A shift from self-reliance to oneness with Him.

And that shift changes everything.

🙏 As You Listen

Notice what feels familiar.
Notice what God is awakening within you.
And notice where God’s relief can be found.

Awareness is the beginning of freedom.

I look forward to helping YOU become a Christ-Empowered Entrepreneur and Leader.

Welcome back to the podcast. I'm glad you're here.

Let me start by sharing something I've learned from Christian Women in business.

You love God.

Want to work with him, you want your business to honor him.

And yet there's pressure, there's anxiety, there's striving, and there's this constant sense of being behind.

If you can relate to this, I want you to hear something important.

These feelings seem normal.

They're everywhere you look, but something is off, because what you're experiencing is coming from the world's pattern of building a business.

And today we are going to expose that pattern and the impact it's having on God's children

Today I want you to feel seen, heard, and understood.

And I want you to receive the hope God has for you, because what feels normal in this world is not necessarily from God.

And what feels faithful, may actually be exhausting because it's following the world's pattern instead of God's.

Let's take a moment to pray.

Father God, we invite you into this time together.

We thank you that you see your daughters fully.

Our hearts, our desire to honor you, and the places where we feel weary and overwhelmed.

Holy Spirit, would you gently open our eyes and hearts today?

Help us to recognize truth, receive hope, and hear what you are lovingly inviting us into.

We trust you with this time for we come to you through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Here's a truth I want you to hear.

The problem is not you.

The problem is the world's promoted patterns for building a business.

It's constant message of this is how it's done. This is what works. This is what you have to do to succeed.

Christian women are not exhausted because they lack faith.

They're exhausted because they're unknowingly operating from the world's belief in self-empowerment.

It's what God has taught me to call the "Land of I".

Scripture names this clearly when it warns us not to conform to the pattern of this world.

This isn't condemnation from God, it's revelation.

It's God's love and protection guiding his daughters back to the freedom we have in him.

When we build in alignment with the world's ways, there is fruit, the world's fruit.

Anxiety, fear, doubt, overwhelm, anxious striving.

These are not moral failures.

They are the natural fruit of building in alignment with the world's ways.

And if you're feeling them, it doesn't mean something is wrong with you.

It means you've been breathing the same air everyone else has been breathing.

But here's the good news, and I mean really good news.

Christ came to create a whole new way for us to live and work.

In Christ, we are not just forgiven.

We have been made one with him, and that oneness creates a whole new place to work from. It's what God has led me to call "The Place of Glory". This place is not mystical or elite. It is God's real life place for us to work from oneness with him.

The contrast looks like this:

Not working independently from God, but in oneness with God.

Not performance for God, but receiving from God.

Not worldly pressure, but Christ's guidance and peace.

Not anxious, striving, but spirit led movement.

This is God's heart for his daughters. His heart for you.

And he's inviting us to awaken to his call to make a shift.

What I'm sharing here isn't theoretical for me.

It comes from my real life story and from years of working with Christian Women in Business.

Perhaps hearing a bit of my story will help you hear what God is saying to us.

This story began about 15 years ago.

God had clearly called me into coaching. I was trained, I was equipped, I was affirmed.

But as I began to build the business, I realized God wasn't calling me to coach locally.

He was calling me to coach globally.

So I began to ask what steps to take.

And the next step that everyone pointed me to was the same.

Start blogging. Start sharing your ideas publicly. Start putting your voice out there.

And the moment I tried, I froze.

Because deep within my heart and my mind, I could hear my stepfather's voice rising up.

For when I would share my thoughts with him. He would mock me saying such things as if you ever speak publicly, you will be chewed up and spit out.

You see, he was a very successful man in international business, so those words carried a lot of weight with me.

As I leaned in to now share my ideas publicly, the fear of man, self-doubt and overwhelm completely paralyzed me.

I would sit in front of my computer all night with a blinking cursor, unable to move.

I would cry out to God saying, I feel like there's an ocean of wisdom inside of me and I cannot release it. Not even one word.

As a result, I shut down the business god had clearly called me to and I into a spiritual depression.

But not long after, God called me into a much bigger story, one involving my mother.

She was being held in a nursing home against her will by a woman who held tremendous power.

And I was brought into the situation to rescue her.

But the problem is that I've always been a peacemaker, not a warrior. You could call me the kumbaya girl, think Gideon here, except I did not respond with the bravery that Gideon did.

Instead, I felt completely outmatched. Completely weak. And utterly powerless. As I watched my mother suffer, I was horrified, distraught, overwhelmed, and filled with shame.

Till one day in the wee hours of the morning on the drive to visit my mom. I pleaded with God to change the circumstances, and he responded with a question,

"do you want me to change the circumstances? Or something greater?"

Huh! I wanted to say the circumstances, but I knew better, and so I said, "I'll pick option B, something greater", to which God replied:

"what would happen in the story if you entered it today as the daughter of the most high God of all the universe?"

Huh.

In that one moment, everything changed.

I literally felt those words wash over me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes.

I gripped the steering wheel and I pulled my shoulders back, remembering who I was, who lived inside me, and that Christ was the king of kings and Lord of Lords.

He was the one who held the power to set my mother free.

As I walked into the nursing home that day, I entered as one who was operating from the place of glory in oneness with Christ.

For the next two years, Christ empowered me through battle after battle to protect and ultimately free my mother. Bringing her home to live with me until she passed on to heaven.

Through this story, God taught me that Christ is greater than every obstacle we will ever face.

He is the one who holds the wisdom and power to fulfill God's will on this earth.

God didn't just restore my circumstances.

He trained me to work powerfully and peacefully in all circumstances from the place of glory with him.

He was also preparing me to return to the field of coaching with the real life experience of what it looks like to recognize when we are working from the world's patterns, from the Land of I, how to shift into God's glorious invitation to build our lives and businesses from the place of glory with him.

So I want to leave you with an invitation, not an assignment.

Simply begin to notice.

Ask yourself, where am I working from right now?

Where have I fallen prey to the world's ways of building a business

and then shift into celebration, thanking God that he has a better way, a new way, created in oneness with Christ that is available to you right now.

Let's pray. Father God. Thank you for your love and patience with us. Thank you that you have created a better way, a way of peace, partnership, and life through christ.

As we go, help us notice where we are working from and gently guide us back into oneness with you.

We receive your grace, your wisdom, and your invitation to walk with you, today and always.

For you have made us one with you in Christ, and it is in his name that we pray. Amen.

In the next episode, we'll take a closer look at the land of I, so you can become even more empowered to make the shift.

For now, feel awakened.

Experience the hope.

And share what you're realizing with a friend.

We will keep walking this out together

Till next time.
