The Cluttered Path
I planned my whole life out when I was 18 and NONE of it happened the way I drew it up. I'm 54 now: Former Marine Sergeant, engineer, tech sales guy, husband, dad, still in therapy, still working a corporate job, and still figuring this out. The Cluttered Path is the conversation I wish someone had with me at age 28. Career advice that isn't LinkedIn nonsense. Money talk without the crypto bros. Mental health without the eye-rolling. Faith without self-righteousness. Leadership lessons from a guy who's made ALL the mistakes so you don't have to. If your dad wasn't around, wasn't the talking type, or just couldn't relate to the world you live in, pull up a chair.

Operation Phantom Fury, also known as The 2nd Battle of Fallujah, was fought over a 6 week period beginning on Nov 7th, 2004. It was the bloodiest battle of the Iraq war and also the heaviest urban fighting for US Marines since the Battle of Hue, Vietnam in 1968.
As we remember the 20th Anniversary of the battle, we have a special guest, Chris Wilkens, who served as the Commander of 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. This is Part 1 of our interview where Chris talks about growing up in New York, becoming a Marine Corps Infantry Officer, Deploying to Iraq with 1/8, and the Battalion's actions leading up to Fallujah.
