Buckle up, weirdos! This week, we start with a serene, rainy morning in suburbia that quickly turns into a scene from a sci-fi flick. We’re dissecting the "Angel Trumpet" sounds, those massive, metallic groans from the sky that sound like a dying mammoth or a possessed pipe organ.

We dig into:

  • The Modern Mystery: Viral recordings from Terrace, B.C., and Texas that make your guts feel things.
  • The Scientific "Maybe": From atmospheric ducting and NASA’s "whistler" radio waves to methane burps and tectonic "sky quakes".
  • The History: Exploring the "Barisal Guns" of the 1800s and Japanese legends of "cries from the sea".
  • The Biblical Metal: Breaking down the Seven Trumpets of Revelation—think burning mountains and blood-filled oceans.

⚠️ A Whimsical Public Service Announcement

We would like to formally apologize to anyone who actually came here for the acoustics. Somewhere between "apocalyptic warnings" and "scientific resonances," we took a hard, unprompted left turn into the chaotic archives of our own lives.

We are deeply sorry (but also not really) that you had to hear about:

  • The high school "manly walk" that looked more like a "creepy predator".
  • The trauma of a "stomach brush" in a narrow hallway that led to a life of crime (stealing a single can of pop).
  • The literal arms race of competitive birthday bouquets in grade five.

If you’re still listening till the end, you’re just as weird as we are, and we love you!. 🎙️✨

SPEAKER_03

Now are we to picture like biblically correct angels? Because I could see them making this right.

SPEAKER_06

So this is this is kind of how the name, like Angel Trumpet Sound, started. So I I feel like I need to say this. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh God. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Um, we are about to get biblical.

SPEAKER_03

Which I never thought I would say those words.

SPEAKER_06

Outside of my comfort zone.

SPEAKER_03

This is why I wore my gay AF shirt. You guessed it, Whimsical.

SPEAKER_06

Hi, my name is Jaclyn. And I'm Stevie. And today I want to start it a little different. Oh. Okay. Okay. Set the mood for us. Okay. You wake up.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, guys. I'm alive.

SPEAKER_06

You wake up to a rainy day in your suburban community-based home. My favorite. Not on like where we are right now.

SPEAKER_03

Suburbia stock.

SPEAKER_06

You walk to the back door to let your dog out. Okay. Okay? It's oddly quiet.

unknown

Quiet.

SPEAKER_06

Serene. So you stand there for a minute with the door open, enjoying the lack of screaming children from across the way, or the soft yet distinguishable low bass of Sean Paul's temperature playing 24-7 from your next door neighbor. You think, wow, this is lovely. When all of a sudden you hear this sound. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_03

That's terrifying.

SPEAKER_06

Uh-huh. And there's wind whipping up all of a sudden. The sound continues. It's coming from everywhere.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I hate it. Right? I hate it.

SPEAKER_07

So what do you do? What do you do, Steve? I mean, I know what you do.

SPEAKER_03

I sh shit my pants.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

I don't like it.

SPEAKER_06

Party people.

SPEAKER_03

Although I kind of do.

SPEAKER_06

Isn't it hauntingly beautiful?

SPEAKER_03

Hauntingly beautiful. Yeah. Or it's just a big metal gate opening and closing.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. So we are talking about the bizarre angel trumpet sound.

SPEAKER_03

Angel trumpet sound.

SPEAKER_06

Which um I did not name. It's just kind of that's what everyone's calling it.

SPEAKER_03

I had never heard that name before.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, baby, strap in. So in our I've got another video as well, which we'll we'll play in a second. But like that one is minutes long.

SPEAKER_03

This is and it's it's that the whole thing.

SPEAKER_06

The whole time. Okay. That one was specifically shot in Terrace, BC, in um here in Canada. Canada, okay. Okay, in 2013. So this has been happening for a minute. So in our modern age, this all started being recorded and talked about in 2011.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

The best video I've heard is what we just played you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um it's it so it's a video or is it just an audio?

SPEAKER_06

No, it's it's literally, okay, so we'll we always say this, we'll post it. I'll try and turn it for you.

SPEAKER_03

It's literally just just a like a shot of a suburban neighborhood, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like kind of as I described.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And this woman is just standing on her from the room.

SPEAKER_03

A lot more trees than my suburban neighborhood, though.

SPEAKER_06

Right? And this is the sound.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. It's like a dying mammoth or something.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_06

So throughout the entire neighborhood. And like, that's not just like, hey, my neighbor's doing something fucking weird.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That's like a consuming sound that's coming from everywhere.

SPEAKER_03

It's very metallic almost.

SPEAKER_06

It is very metallic. Funny that you say that. Oh now, here's a here's another one. Okay. Okay. This one was shot in Texas seven years ago.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Are you ready?

SPEAKER_06

Okay, ready?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's getting louder, too.

SPEAKER_03

That one's way scarier. Yeah, like deeper and more like almost like ethereal. Same girl. Same girl. Isn't that creepy? That's creepy. Like that one has more of like a harp secore thing song. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like creepy. Yeah. Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. That makes me feel things. Right? Like deep in your deep in your in your soul.

SPEAKER_06

It's like a guttural.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's cool.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know what I would do if I woke up to that.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, baby.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's a weird sound.

SPEAKER_06

Isn't it? Two very distinct sounds.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Both very different.

SPEAKER_06

And malt. So those happen to be the two videos that, you know, um I have for us now. There are many of them out there. Okay. And many people across these towns were like, what is that?

SPEAKER_03

And they're all very similar. Interesting. I'm here for it. I want to hear it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So these sky trumpets phenomenons. Phenomenons? Phenomenon. Phenomenon. Phenom. Um, they are one of the most persistent acoustic mysteries of the modern age. Definitely. Take that in for a second. Yeah. Cool. These sounds are typically described as low frequency metallic groaning or a resonant horn blast that seems to emanate from the sky itself.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Let's try and emulate it now.

SPEAKER_06

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_03

You first.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_07

So I'm gonna go with the the the I feel like that was like a brassy little. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'm here for that.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, here we go.

SPEAKER_00

Um was that I committed to that part.

SPEAKER_07

Oh God. This is why they come here. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I can't see the rest of them.

SPEAKER_07

How do we do? How do we do that? I think that was pretty good. I think it was really good.

SPEAKER_03

We hit all the resonance. Well, many viral videos on the subject are confirmed hoaxes. Many videos out there are. Yes. Uh, often dubbed with audio from movies like War of the Worlds. Remember that? I can picture that sound perfectly. Okay, baby. There you go. That was good.

SPEAKER_07

This whole episode is just gonna be us making ridiculous chaos.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. The phenomenon has been documented for centuries, long before digital editing or even airplanes existed. Jack is dying. She's having an aneurysm over here. You're gonna you're gonna debrieze.

SPEAKER_07

You know. Go through my day-to-day. You know what? I can't wait to do. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

We've lost her. We've completely lost her.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Okay, dial it in.

SPEAKER_03

Is this where you saw yourself?

SPEAKER_07

No, I I mean, actually, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's distracted.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's true. All right, here we go. Oh I hope you're all laughing along with us.

SPEAKER_03

No, they're like these idiots.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, big time. Okay, here we go. Game phase. So before the era of ver viral viral. Let's go.

SPEAKER_03

Virile.

SPEAKER_06

Before the era of viral videos and digital hoaxes, these sounds were in fact recorded by explorers, writers, and local communities who had no sp scientific framework to explain them. Okay. Right? So they were often described not just as trumpets, but as aerial guns or distant artillery. Because, of course, think of it like the time. What could make that sound? Well, that's what I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And a lot of towns would have those air horns in case of emergencies, right? And storms.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, totally. So let's take it back to the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1805. While near the Great Falls of the Missouri River. Um, Meriwether Lewis wrote in his journal about I'm sorry, his name's Meriwether.

SPEAKER_03

Merriweather.

SPEAKER_06

Why did I not know that?

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know that either. I love it.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like I did a project on Lewis and weather. Oh no, it was David Thompson.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, I'm apparently related to him. Shut up. Did you know that? No. Um I could be I vaguely remember talking about um David Thompson.

SPEAKER_06

Not a lot of people know who David Thompson is.

SPEAKER_03

I I think I just know that because I vaguely remember a conversation where it's like, yeah, we're related. I hope I remember that. Mom's dads, do you recall this at all?

SPEAKER_06

Also, is it David Thompson? Or is it David Thompson? I'm pretty sure he was one of the explorers.

SPEAKER_03

Because I had a friend slash girl I used to have a crush on. And her last name was Thompson. And I think I remember at the time hearing about David Thompson.

SPEAKER_06

Well, that is so cool.

SPEAKER_03

And that's why it kind of sticks in my mind because of that last name.

SPEAKER_06

Amazing. Uh let's get back to Meriwether.

SPEAKER_03

Merryweather.

SPEAKER_06

Um, so she wrote in her journal. He, he's a guy, um, wrote in his journal about a mysterious noise coming from the mountains. Okay. He described it as, and I quote, precisely the discharge of a piece of ordinance of six pounds at the distance of three miles. Ordinances like artillery.

SPEAKER_03

Hate a discharge.

SPEAKER_06

Honestly saying. Uh he noted sorry everyone. Oh he noted that the sounds occurred in calm weather and couldn't be explained by any known source.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Interesting. Uh we also have the Barasol guns. Okay. Uh so in the 1800s, in the Barasol region of Bengal, or modern day Bangladesh, British offici officials uh and locals reported loud booming sounds coming from the sea. Ooh. They were so frequent and distinct that they were uh that they were documented in scientific journals of the time, often attributed to the seismic activity or atmospheric explosions.

SPEAKER_06

Love a good atmospheric explosion.

SPEAKER_03

But if it's coming from the sea, well this could be aliens coming in and out.

SPEAKER_06

See? Welcome to my world. Woo! Everything's always aliens.

SPEAKER_03

Always.

SPEAKER_06

So let's talk about James Fenimore Cooper's The Lake Gun from 1850. So the famous American author wrote a short story based on the real life Seneca guns of New York.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

He described that sound as a deep, hollow, distant, and imposing, noting that the Native American tribes of the region had legends about these sounds long before European settlers arrived. So there is another account from hundreds of years ago of these booming sounds happening. Deep, hollow, distant, imposing. What is causing this? What is causing it? Um, fun little note here. So these have also um, like these kinds of sounds are not just um centered around North America. Um, I found mist poofers. Mistpoofers, which is a term used in Belgium and the Netherlands, translating roughly to fog dissipators, which I guess is a sound that fog can make.

SPEAKER_01

I guess so.

SPEAKER_06

Crazy. And then in Japan, there's the huminari, which means cries from the sea.

SPEAKER_03

Ooh, that's creepy.

SPEAKER_06

Creepy taste. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's a cool word too. It is. I like that. Also, miss poofers. I like it. Mr.

SPEAKER_06

Poofer. I don't know if I'm saying it right, but um the magic scoopers. Why is that in my head?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. The talk about random, I love it.

SPEAKER_06

The magic, yeah, in the middle, literally in the middle. I don't know if it was, I don't know if it came from the I have no idea where it came from, but the magic school has been in my head. It was in my head all day yesterday. Uh octopus in the neighborhood?

SPEAKER_07

Octopus cruising around the main tree, relaxing, feeling good. Something, something, something. When it's octopus in the neighborhood.

SPEAKER_03

I panicked for a second.

SPEAKER_07

I was like, what do you want?

SPEAKER_06

Something, something, something. You might get baked into a pie in the magic school bus. Yes. But yeah, magic school bus in my brain. Okay. I love it. Real quick, what was your favorite magic school bus episode?

SPEAKER_04

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

I really liked the one where they turn into the bees.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, cute.

SPEAKER_03

Because I mean bees.

SPEAKER_06

Sure. Bees. Everything starts with them.

SPEAKER_03

Everything starts with them.

SPEAKER_06

Pollination, crops. Trust me. Save the bees.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, there was also one episode. Was it the one where it was like lizards and reptiles and they learned about cold-blooded and warm-blooded?

SPEAKER_06

And they and Liz. And Liz. Liz was like a big thing.

SPEAKER_03

I loved Liz.

SPEAKER_06

My Liz was great. My favorite episode, because I know you're gonna ask me.

SPEAKER_03

Of course I was. What's your favorite episode?

SPEAKER_06

Um, when they get put into the pinball machine that is like shoots out rainbows through the prism.

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_06

That is my favorite episode by far.

SPEAKER_03

I love that.

SPEAKER_06

By far, with all the colors and like the figuring out and using the.

SPEAKER_03

When did you have that dream about the rainbow prisms and stuff? Oh my goodness. Was it around then?

SPEAKER_06

Excellent throwback. Um, no, I was way older. Okay. That dream. Which, if you don't know what we're talking about, go back and listen to Nightmares and Dreams episode, um, which came out a couple of weeks ago. Yep. And you will hear something from me.

SPEAKER_03

Something, something.

SPEAKER_06

But yeah, that was for sure my my favorite magic score.

SPEAKER_03

I love that. There's many, though. There's so many good ones.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. When she's like working out and they uh she gets hike hiccups, and like, hold your breath, and they have to like mop up the what's its liquid in the muscles.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_06

What the hell was that calling?

SPEAKER_03

All coming back to me.

SPEAKER_06

Anyways, learned a lot.

SPEAKER_03

Arnold turning orange.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Carrots, which I thought could be.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, really good. Seaweed wrapped, whatever, little fishes or something.

SPEAKER_03

Also, shout out to Lily Tomlin, Miss Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Love.

SPEAKER_03

Love, love Lily Tomlin.

SPEAKER_06

Um, all right, sorry about that little segue.

SPEAKER_03

So let's take a look at what the scientists had to say about these noises.

SPEAKER_06

Love those scientists.

SPEAKER_03

Love the scientists.

SPEAKER_06

We know how much we love the scientists here.

SPEAKER_03

Uh so researchers had proposed several natural mechanisms that could create such massive atmospheric resonances. Resonai?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I like it.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, so we have atmospheric ducting. Sure. Sound from distant sources like thunder, industrial machinery, or even ocean waves can become trapped between layers of the atmosphere with different temperatures. Right. This duct acts like a giant hallway carrying and distorting the sound over hundreds of miles until it reaches an area where it sounds like an eerie local horn.

SPEAKER_06

I could see it.

SPEAKER_03

I could kind of see it.

SPEAKER_06

I could see it.

SPEAKER_03

That's why, like, if it was, you know, the industrial machinery and stuff, some of it sounds mechanical. It sounded like that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, then we have the electromagnetic activity. NASA.

SPEAKER_06

Love NASA.

SPEAKER_03

Love NASA has noted that Earth naturally emits radio waves at audio frequencies, sometimes called tweaks or whistlers.

SPEAKER_06

I'm sorry, what'd you just call me?

SPEAKER_03

Hey. While we usually need antennae, antennae to hear them. Some scientists speculate that during periods of high solar activity, these electromagnetic pulses might interact with the ionosphere in a way that creates audible vibrations. Sexy. Sexy. I sounded very scientific.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, it's because you are.

SPEAKER_03

I'm a scientist.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't write that at all. At all.

SPEAKER_03

You can just whip that out of nowhere. My brain.

SPEAKER_06

So good. Um, another thing that makes total sense for sure. Lots of things be happening in space.

SPEAKER_03

That's true.

SPEAKER_06

Or we could look at the tectonic strain. So um scientists have kind of dubbed these sounds as sky quakes, which is terrifying. Yeah. But really cool. Um, skyquakes are sometimes linked to the earth's crust shifting.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Even without a full earthquake happening, pressure on tectonic plates can release acoustic energy that travels through the ground and bursts into the air as loud as a boom or a sustained grinding noise. I could see that too. Right? Because it's rock on rock, grinding around. And it have you ever actually heard um happened to Kyle and I today when we were on the lake. So our lake is still frozen. Ice rubbing together. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And a pressure crack went. And it was the wildest sound. It just went like and it just like sounds like a laser.

SPEAKER_03

It's I love those sounds.

SPEAKER_06

It was wild. And then, like, when that ended, like it was like this, and then oh, so cool. And we just looked at each other because we're like, how deep are we if we fall in this? We would have been fine. But uh, yeah, it was uh it's unnerving when you hear it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

The earth makes weird noises.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, it sure does.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, so we also have good old methane burps.

SPEAKER_06

Love me and methane burps.

SPEAKER_03

Love me and methane burp. Uh so in coastal areas or near deep lakes like the Seneca guns in New York, pockets of methane gas trapped in sediment can explode as they rise to the surface, creating massive underwater pops that resonate through the air. Good old methane burps.

SPEAKER_07

I love it. I love it.

SPEAKER_03

Uh so the surge in trumpet report since 2011, which I did wonder about. Why 2011? Why did it start then? Sure. Is a bit of a double-edged sword. While more people have cameras to record legitimate anomalies, the trumpets of the apocalypse narrative has led to a lot of international misinformation. Sure. In some cases, unexplained sounds were eventually traced to very mundane sources. For example, some people say that that video from BC, which was the first one you played, right? Right. Uh, it was likely a city worker who unintentionally creating created a massive resonance by grinding a greater blade against a concrete road.

SPEAKER_06

So now that, and like I could I I could see that.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

So knowing that, now that we've discussed that, let's play this back again. Yes. Okay. Okay. Here we go.

SPEAKER_03

And imagine a city worker, uh, what was it, grinding a greater blade on a concrete road.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, here we go. Right? Being dragged along a road.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But it's just so loud.

SPEAKER_03

It's so loud.

SPEAKER_06

Like that is so loud.

SPEAKER_03

I just picture metal on metal somehow making that specific.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't remember if that's where it stops. Or if it picks back up again.

SPEAKER_02

It's just creepy.

SPEAKER_06

It will start over. Because like you can almost picture that, but what's also wild is like the wind picks up as she's taking this video. Creepy. But it totally could be metal on metal. Like if uh again, does everyone know what a grater is? It's like a giant piece of machinery. Um, typically I see it in my neighborhood when they're trying to get the ice off the road.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, right.

SPEAKER_06

It's not it's not a snowplow, it's a a a grater that like comes and like scrapes the frozen ice.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

This video is in the dead of summer. It's August 29th.

SPEAKER_04

True. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But who's to say that they weren't like moving earth or moving rock or doing something? Um So there certainly is a case for that's what it is and the atmosphere, especially because it is so windy. Maybe it made that that much louder and went through the entire neighborhood.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. But this sound does not sound like that. Like, what is this?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

It's getting louder too.

SPEAKER_06

What is that? I that is not something that's not a mechanical grading. To me, it's like a sing-song-y, like you said, a harpsichord.

SPEAKER_03

Like a harpsichord or like an organ that's uh a little possessed or something.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Like it's that to me.

SPEAKER_03

Or that has more of the if it was like one of those air fog horns on the fritz or something. A little tiny bit.

SPEAKER_06

And it's also not so loud, but it's like, oh like something is wrong with it. Wail. Wail. One more time. In my nightmares. Yeah. Sky's saying, I would go see what that is, but it's probably not a good idea. No kidding, pal.

SPEAKER_03

Every once in a while, Dan and I will listen to whale noises to fall asleep to. Very similar to that.

SPEAKER_06

A whale in the sky.

SPEAKER_03

A sky whale.

SPEAKER_06

Sky whale. Oh I wish they were sky whales.

SPEAKER_03

We've solved it.

SPEAKER_06

We've solved it.

SPEAKER_03

Sky whales.

SPEAKER_06

Um, Steve and I were also talking earlier about how orcas are wearing salmons on their head again.

SPEAKER_03

I had never heard of this. I I feel like Jack's making it up. She's like, you know, the salmon hats.

SPEAKER_06

Salmon hat.

SPEAKER_03

The orcas are wearing salmon hats. I was like, what?

SPEAKER_06

It's a thing. They were like, kill the salmon and then just put them on their heads and like swim around with them on their heads.

SPEAKER_03

I love it. Yeah. Maybe I'll see that in July. We're going to the BC kayaking with the whales trip. What? Yeah. I'm excited. It's finally happening. It's finally happening.

SPEAKER_06

I'm so excited. Tell me a little bit more about that.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we're uh flying into Calgary. And then we're gonna drive to Lake Louise. Oh. Stay a few nights at Lake Louise Hotel there. Amazing. Because that's where Dan's parents met.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh. Uh so we're gonna stay there, and I wanna like go horseback riding in the mountains. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, you should. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then we're gonna drive to Vancouver. We're gonna go, it's so it's on the coast, and you basically glamp in these like really cool yurts. Uh, and then every morning you go and you kayak along the coast, and it's where the killer whales orca paths are. So you get to like kayak with the with the orcas.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, well, that is really cool. Two things. One, my very good friend Jigoda lives in Vancouver. I love it. Yeah. Happy hangout.

SPEAKER_03

Well, my brother lives in Vancouver too.

SPEAKER_06

Duh. Hello, Doug. Woo-hoo! Um two.

SPEAKER_03

Doug listens. He's a committed listener. He sure is. Committed listener? I love it. What's the word I'm thinking of?

SPEAKER_06

A dedicated?

SPEAKER_03

Dedicated listener. Committed.

SPEAKER_06

I like committed, especially because of the last episode.

SPEAKER_03

It's true. You should be committed, Doug.

SPEAKER_06

Um second thing, my good friend Evan, who I met when I was like eight years old in Greensville.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Um, he works out there as a captain on a boat for whale watching.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you've told me this. Yeah. Yeah, that's cool.

SPEAKER_06

He is super cool and we'd totally love to take you guys out, I'm sure. Love it. Yeah. So I'll have to remind me and I will I will put you in touch with him. Cool. Um, that's really amazing. Yeah, I'm pumped. That's really cool.

SPEAKER_03

How do we get on that?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, salmon hats.

SPEAKER_03

Salmon hats. Sky whales.

SPEAKER_06

Sky whales.

SPEAKER_03

Got there.

SPEAKER_06

Skywales, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Sky whales.

SPEAKER_06

I would be a sky whale. I am a sky whale. When I fly, I'm a sky whale.

SPEAKER_03

I'm a I'm a forest whale.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah. I'd be a forest whale. I like it. I like it. Um, speaking of things that fly. Yes, okay, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Potentially.

SPEAKER_06

We need to talk about the angels.

SPEAKER_03

The angels. I mean, it's in the name.

SPEAKER_06

It's in the name.

SPEAKER_03

Um now. Are we to picture like biblically correct angels? Because I could see them making this noise. Yes. Right?

SPEAKER_06

So this is this is kind of how the name, like Angel Trumpet Sounds, started. So I I feel like I need to say this. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh God. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Um, we are about to get biblical.

SPEAKER_03

Wish I never thought I would say those words.

SPEAKER_06

Outside of my comfort zone.

SPEAKER_03

This is why I wore my gay AF shirt because I needed to be very we it like.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So I pulled this from several religious sources. I have no idea if it's accurate because, like, oh.

SPEAKER_03

Are we gonna burn up a little?

SPEAKER_06

I mean, you might.

SPEAKER_03

I for sure will.

SPEAKER_06

I at least, you know. You know this? I know, I know some of this. Remember, I grew up in a family that was Catholic adjacent. Okay. And I am in fact baptized united. Did you? Did I know that?

SPEAKER_03

I'm not baptized.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, really? No.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Which is funny because my grandma was actually training to be a nun. Wow. And uh the story goes that she met my grandpa and he swayed her to the dark side. They fell in love and got married.

SPEAKER_06

I love that story. Yeah. You would not be here if she were a nun.

SPEAKER_03

I know. I know.

SPEAKER_06

Well, thank goodness for your grandfather.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Definitely ask Rom if he can. Yeah. Thanks, Goomba. I pass by your grave all the time. Um, I actually say like hello.

SPEAKER_03

I do every time too. Wave a thumb. You wave a thumb?

SPEAKER_06

I do.

SPEAKER_03

Um I love that.

SPEAKER_06

Um, we should go visit their 100% when you're up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um, okay. Why were we talking about that? Because oh, nunneries. Nunneries and religious. And I'm not baptized. Yes, and how I am, and that uh I spent many years in my early life learning about La Bibla.

SPEAKER_03

La Bibla. Can I ask you a question? Sure. We can cut it if it's uh too much.

SPEAKER_06

Sure.

SPEAKER_03

Uh do you It's never going to be too much. Do you no shade to your parents or anything? Yeah. But I am very thankful that I wasn't baptized.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Do you have any regrets or like hate kind of not hate but hate that you were baptized?

SPEAKER_06

Do you hate but not hate but hate? No, not at all. No. Um not at all. I'm cool with it. I'm glad that um I learned what I learned. Fair, yeah. And I always say this, I always say this. Love the story. Fair. Love the pomp and circumstance. Love the legends. Yeah. Love the storytelling. Love the writing.

SPEAKER_03

It's true. Right. Churches.

SPEAKER_06

Gorgeous. Love churches. Like I I I oddly enough am wearing a every time I see it, I'm like, hold on. Because I love cross. Like not for a religious reason at all. And that's really weird is I told you about my auntie, my great aunt passing away. She gave me this. Oh. That's so wild. Um, it also, just so you know, has our coffin.

SPEAKER_03

I love it. Right?

SPEAKER_06

Like I've paired them. I I absolutely love everything about the physical, like the church, yeah, the architecture, the ornate details and decor, if you will.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh, for sure.

SPEAKER_06

Um love the story. Yeah. Do not have any side of like I just don't, I just don't align myself with it.

SPEAKER_03

I just love that now you're practicing witch.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Well, this is it. Like, I'm not gonna lie, when I was going to church and when we were in whether it be like Bible school or Sunday school, or when I got too old, and actually, to be honest, I wasn't too old because we stopped going at that point. But, anyways, sitting in the sermons, they would talk about how like your power can come from anywhere.

SPEAKER_03

Anywhere, absolutely.

SPEAKER_06

Because like the United Church is the chillest of them all.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. If I Which I actually do know this because I, funnily enough, did go to Sunday school, but it's because our friends invited us so that we could be part of the play, the theatrical play that they were putting on. I think there was a part of them that did also want to have us join the cult. Sure.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, they always do. Um I played an angel in that play.

SPEAKER_03

Aw.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but yeah, no, my my church was like very cool, very chill.

SPEAKER_03

United is the cool one.

SPEAKER_06

United is the chill one. We had a lady minister at one point. Um it was just relaxed and chill.

SPEAKER_03

I I love it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I just yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And again, I know I talk a bit of shade and stuff. Like, no, nothing against like spiritualism and like believing in things. It's just the organized religion that fucks shit up all the time, is what I have a problem with.

SPEAKER_06

The people who who um hide behind their religion to and take it to the extremes. Well, that and they utilize it as a weapon is garbage, and they could solve a lot of things. Oh, baby. Yeah, organized.

SPEAKER_03

I would like to explore the vaults beneath the Vatican, though. Oh, yeah, the shit that's down there.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, the story, the lore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That is awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Girl. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um, so I hope I answered your question. I kind of did, yeah. Okay. Um, but yeah, cool. Fine by I'm fine with it. Yeah, it's the chillest. Um, my parents were like super relaxed because it was like, I think for them, I can't speak to them, but I get a sense of like they were like, well, if it's true, she's fine. You know what I mean? Like better safe than sorry.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um but yeah, my little church that I did go to for a few years is while still standing, is no longer in operation. But it was like an ancient little, I wonder how old it is. I guess I can't. Where? It's called Rock Chapel Church. Oh, Rock Chapel in Flambrough. Um, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

The one we did the Sunday school in was the United Church in Linden.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And that's where I went to Scouts. Like that was where everything happened, right?

SPEAKER_06

There you go. So having said all of that, angels. We got so, so religious.

SPEAKER_03

We sure did.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but I also hope that kind of puts things in perspective for you. Like, we don't just there's there's a past.

SPEAKER_03

There is, yes. We have a past. Thousand percent.

SPEAKER_06

Um, so yeah, saying all of that, we have no idea what to how to explain any of this. Not a clue. But here we go. We're just gonna dive in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

This is pulled directly from religious sites, sources, dare I say, even the Bible itself.

SPEAKER_03

Side note. Yeah. Have you read the Bible? I have read passages. I've never cracked open a Bible. It's man, it's a wild read. I've heard.

SPEAKER_06

It's a wild read.

SPEAKER_03

Some people strictly like religiously only read the Bible.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah, no. There are, oh, fanatics and no, no. Um, but they're like this is a whole other conversation, but like I feel like a lot of the interpretation of the Bible is exactly that. People's individual interpretation.

SPEAKER_00

For sure.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but I'm also like I don't know eight. Anyway, uh, I digress. But you should give it a go. Just like no, I'm good. Crack it on.

SPEAKER_03

I am a-okay. Right.

SPEAKER_07

Honestly, yeah, you are.

SPEAKER_06

Uh okay, here we go. Yep. Seven, I don't even know how to say this correctly, so I'm just gonna I'm just gonna try to. The seven trumpets in Revelation eight to nine and eleven.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Screw you ten.

SPEAKER_03

Is that what the rev down below means? Yeah. Revelations. Revelations. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Um I was like, Rev, I love that drink. I used to.

SPEAKER_00

Rev it up.

SPEAKER_03

Rev it up. Okay, sorry. Okay, here we go.

SPEAKER_06

The seven trumpets in Revelation eight to nine and eleven, but definitely not ten. Nope. Are divine judgments signaling warnings during the end times tribulation initiated after the seventh seal is opened.

SPEAKER_03

I think I've seen this movie.

SPEAKER_06

I was just gonna say, did you see that supernatural episode? Yes, okay.

SPEAKER_07

Right? Yeah, like a lot of what I know is from supernatural.

SPEAKER_03

I love that.

SPEAKER_06

Um, okay, it continues. Angels blow seven trumpets, resulting in partial destruction of the earth, sea, water sources, and celestial bodies. Wow. First four. Don't know what that means, followed by intense woes involving demonic forces and vast where uh war yeah vast warfare, last three. Don't know what that means.

SPEAKER_03

Don't know what that means. This is all from the angel's trumpets that they're blowing.

SPEAKER_06

So essentially, what this is saying is like when you hear these trumpets, it's the end of times. Okay. It goes to like the biblical like raining frogs, locusts, etc. Apocalypse. It starts with the apocalyptic. It starts with the angel's trumpets. Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Uh so we have the seven trumpets of judgment. So the first trumpet from Revelations 8.7. I would I would have said Rev 8.7.

SPEAKER_06

Sure, that's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, hail and fire mixed with blood are thrown to the earth, burning one-third of the trees and all green grass.

SPEAKER_06

Like that's metal.

SPEAKER_03

That's metal. That's metal, bitch. Uh, the second trumpet from Revelations eight and eight nine. Sure. Eight to eight nine? Sure. A burning mountain is thrown into the sea, turning one-third of it to blood, killing one-third of sea life, and destroying one-third of ships. Not great. Turns one third of the ocean into blood.

SPEAKER_06

Not great.

SPEAKER_03

Not great.

SPEAKER_06

Once again, metal.

SPEAKER_03

Metal.

SPEAKER_06

See? Like, this is what I'm telling you. Some of the Bible's like Wild.

SPEAKER_03

Wild. Um. So we have the third trumpet from Revelations 8, 10, 11. We have a blazing star called Wormwood. Great name.

SPEAKER_06

Great name.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, it falls on one third of the rivers and springs, making them bitter and causing many deaths.

SPEAKER_06

Many deaths.

SPEAKER_03

Many deaths. Why one why is everything one third?

SPEAKER_06

So I was gonna say something about that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Dare I say holy trinity?

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_06

Total guess. Could be though. Total guess. One third, one third, one third. The son, the holy spirit, in the name of the father of the son, and the holy spirit. Holy spirit. Three. Do they say Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost? I was brought up saying Holy Ghost, and then it got changed to Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, uh, is it racist to say ghost?

SPEAKER_06

You got me. Maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe people are like, no, no, I'm not saying that, but I will say spirit. Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I know not.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Um, then we have the fourth trumpet from Revelations 8, 8, 12. 8 and 12? 8 to 12. Sure. One third of the sun, moon, and stars are struck, causing a third of the day and night to be dark. See? Something, yeah. Uh, we have the fifth trumpet, which is the first woe, Revelations 9, 1 to 12.

SPEAKER_05

I also don't know what a woe is, but a woe.

SPEAKER_03

Woe is me. I'm so woe. Um, a star falls from heaven and opens the bottomless pit. Releasing demonic locusts that torment people who do not have the seal of God for five months.

SPEAKER_06

This is why I'm baptized.

SPEAKER_03

Is that when you're baptized, is that you receive the seal of God?

SPEAKER_06

I have no idea. That I don't know. I have no idea what the seal of God is.

SPEAKER_03

Cool.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, again, punk rock.

SPEAKER_03

Punk rock. Cool. Uh, the sixth trumpet, the second woe, Revelations 9, 13 to 21. Uh, four angels bound at the Euphrates River are released, leading a massive army that kills one-third of mankind.

SPEAKER_06

One third. So now, four angels, I'm pretty sure, is Michael, Gabriel. Oh, who are the other two?

SPEAKER_03

Sebastian. I don't know.

unknown

Sebastian.

SPEAKER_06

Sebastian. No, who are the four archangels? Michael, Gabriel, Raphael. Yes, you're correct. Michelangelo? Isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

But isn't it all the turtles are named after?

SPEAKER_06

Well, I thought I thought, is it?

SPEAKER_03

I I think the turtles are all named after the uh angels. Really? Michelangelo? Michelangelo. Is that not a thing? Or are they the artists? Maybe they're named after artists.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, wait, hold on. What am I saying? Four archangels.

SPEAKER_03

Of the apocalypse?

SPEAKER_06

Names. Okay. People are probably screaming at us in the car right now.

SPEAKER_03

I I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_06

Uriel. I knew it. I did know I was in there. So Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, which you're correct, and Uriel. They are the four primary archangels, most commonly recognized across various traditions, including Anglican, some Catholic traditions, etc. etc.

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, do you want to know who what each of them is, you know, described as? Pay me with it. Michael, considered a warrior, protector, and advocate for God's people. Gabriel, recognized as the primary messenger of God, known for delivering messages. Raphael, known as an angel of healing and a guide. What is this all sounding like to you?

unknown

Witchcraft.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, it stems from that. Right. All of it does.

SPEAKER_06

And Uriel, often associated with wisdom and light, and sometimes described as watching over the four elements of nature. Come on.

SPEAKER_03

Witchcraft. Paganism.

SPEAKER_06

So there you go. There's the four uh four angels bound at Euphrates River. And bring it home with a seventh.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so we have the seventh trumpet, which is the third woe, Revelations 11, 15 to 19. Sounded in heaven, proclaiming that the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever, signaling the final judgment. Man, and then like that's world is over? Nighttime. World is over or the universe is over?

SPEAKER_06

I think, well, galaxy universe. So hold on a second, Stephen. Because if you ask certain people in certain religions, there's no space. Right. There's nothing but the earth, baby. Like flat earth? Should we? Do we? Do we? Dare Shall we? Um But so I mean, listen, those are the seven trumpets, and then apparently.

SPEAKER_03

Are we living on the seal of God? Is the flat earth the seal of God?

SPEAKER_05

Hold on. Hold on.

SPEAKER_06

It's all coming together. Um I just want to clarify one thing. We are not flat earthers.

SPEAKER_03

Speak for yourself. I've been going down some conspiracy theories, and it makes sense. I'm just I'm totally joking. She's having any aneurysm. She's freaking out. I did, I tried to um voice note her once and pretending like I agreed with the flat.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my god, what was it? Starseed. Was it Starseed?

SPEAKER_03

Starseed 2. Is that what it was about? No, about pretending to be a flat earther. I was like, it's making sense.

SPEAKER_07

I just literally my I'm holding my phone. Pretend this is my phone. I'm like.

SPEAKER_03

And then I halfway through I just started laughing. I was like, I can't, I can't.

SPEAKER_06

Like, man, you have me.

SPEAKER_03

But the starseeds, we need to talk about starseeds.

SPEAKER_06

We'll talk about star seeds, we'll talk about star seeds, and we'll probably talk about flat earthers. But um, as wild and as wacky and as weird and whimsical as we are, I'm here to tell you that the earth is round. It just is.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe I don't know that ice wall man.

SPEAKER_07

The ice no.

SPEAKER_03

We're in Game of Thrones.

SPEAKER_06

Honestly, I like I would welcome a giant wall or pit where like terrible people go.

SPEAKER_03

A thousand percent. I mean I'm fine with that.

SPEAKER_06

I'm totally fine with that.

SPEAKER_03

Apparently, Atlantis is on the other side of that ice wall.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Great.

SPEAKER_07

Can't wait to see it.

SPEAKER_03

I just love going down the conspiracy theory hole.

SPEAKER_06

No, there are a lot. There are a lot of and same with this. Like this whole trumpet sounding thing. I mean, first of all, the fact that we talked about that it's been happening for like hundreds of years.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But because we don't have a recorded audio of what that, because it could have been thunder. Like who knows what it sounded like 200 years ago.

SPEAKER_03

Imagine. So there was up above there, we were talking about the um um indigenous people. Oh, yes, yes and hearing this and they recorded it. But imagine back then not having like a mechanical or scientific the gods. The gods and that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, this is all where it comes from, is like that must be God who's angry, who's the seven trumpets are happening, world is over.

SPEAKER_03

Wild.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, we're still here. Nothing's happened for now.

SPEAKER_03

For now, we don't know. Uh, we might be here in some trumpet sound soon.

SPEAKER_06

We might. Oh my god. Yeah, honestly.

unknown

I'm fine with it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we need to just be wiped out. Humans need to leave.

SPEAKER_06

Um, so I don't know. Uh clearly, I'm seeing this question that I wrote, and I'm not sure why I wrote it, but I can I can understand.

SPEAKER_07

Trumpets.

SPEAKER_03

I can see where your mind was.

SPEAKER_07

You know, but like I have a question. Did you play an instrument in middle school music class?

SPEAKER_02

What a pivot there.

SPEAKER_07

And obviously I was thinking trumpets. Huh. And then wrote this question. But I stand by it. Yeah, sure. So did you play a music instrument in a music class in middle school?

SPEAKER_03

Started with the flute because we were uh bribed with Boston Cream Donuts because no one wanted to play the flute. So our music teacher would bribe us and be like, if you play the flute, I will, I think it was for the first like three or four classes. I will bring you in a Boston Cream.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, back when donuts were good from Tim Horton. Yeah. Or did you get it from Baker's Dozen? Do you remember? Oh, I don't remember. You let me down.

SPEAKER_03

I don't remember. Do you remember Baker's Dozen? I do.

SPEAKER_06

Right in the corner of Five and Six in Watertown?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So good. Well, where was I? It was at Seaton.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, well then. So it might have been.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That could have been Baker's Dozen. And they were like the size of your head. Yeah. They were so good. I would have done that too. I would have played the for a Boston Creek.

SPEAKER_03

But then it got really hard and I hated it. So I switched to the trumpet. It was me. It was me all along, guys. But thinking that it would be easy because it's three buttons. I'm here to tell you it was not.

SPEAKER_06

No. But what it's so funny that you say that because everyone wanted to play the trumpet in our school too.

SPEAKER_03

Because it was three buttons. I'm telling you. Everyone thought it was easy.

SPEAKER_06

Probably the hardest instrument to play.

SPEAKER_03

And then you got the little like the ructal mouth because you're like blowing into the whole mouth.

SPEAKER_06

Of course. Of course, of course, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Did you play an instrument?

SPEAKER_06

I did.

SPEAKER_03

I played badass drums.

SPEAKER_06

I wish. I really wanted to, but no. Actually, my friend Evan did.

SPEAKER_03

Is that so funny?

SPEAKER_06

Um, no, I played. Do you want to take a guess? First thing that comes to mind. First instrument comes to mind.

SPEAKER_03

Clarinet.

SPEAKER_06

No.

SPEAKER_07

I was way too cool for a clarinet.

SPEAKER_03

Tuba.

SPEAKER_06

No. Honestly, you should have. That should have been me. Yeah. No, I played the tenor sax. So it's a big saxophone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool. Yeah. I really, really enjoyed it a lot.

SPEAKER_00

I love it.

SPEAKER_06

Everybody in my friend group wanted to play either the trumpet or the alto sax, like the little saxophone.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know why. I don't know why that was like such a popular. Maybe because like it was cool and hip, and I gotta tell you, all the pretty girls got elected to play the ta the alto saxophone. Huh. So I'm not sure what that was all about.

SPEAKER_03

Our school, it like everyone wanted to play clarinet. That was the popular one.

SPEAKER_06

Wow. Who who played clarinet? Laura, my friend Laura played clarinet. Did Whitney?

SPEAKER_03

I think Doug, my brother, played clarinet.

SPEAKER_06

Cool. It's a cool instrument.

SPEAKER_03

He was also in band. Like he, I remember he went on a cruise because he was in band. Amazing. He went the band route. I went the art nerd route. Sure.

SPEAKER_06

Sure. I went the fuck everything route. I got to high school, did nothing. Fair.

SPEAKER_03

I was in the VAC.

SPEAKER_06

What the hell is the VAC? Visual Arts Council. Of course.

SPEAKER_03

An art nerd. Hung out in the art room.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, I did drama and stuff, but I'd like I I wish I did. I was too punk rock. I'm like, fuck organize things.

SPEAKER_03

I was too shy and introverted, but I kind of wish I'd gotten out of my shell.

SPEAKER_06

Sure, sure. Drama did help me with that. There you go. Um, yeah, there was a band for Spencer Valley. I think actually my friends Laura and Whitney, shout out if you're listening. Um, I'm sure you're not, were in that as well. They like traveled around and cool stuff.

SPEAKER_03

Um as you I gave up the instrument as soon as I could. I didn't go into high school playing an instrument. I I had Grade 8 was the last one where I was like, yeah, no, I hate this.

SPEAKER_06

I definitely did not play the sacks in high school, but I considered like asking my parents to buy one for me. Oh because I wanted to continue. Could you play?

SPEAKER_03

Could you read sheet music?

SPEAKER_06

I could read sheet music. Um I practiced a lot. I remember I like we could take out the instrument, and I was trying to take it out as often as possible because I really wanted to do well with it.

SPEAKER_00

Nerd.

SPEAKER_06

Um Big Time Nerd also my crush at the time. Oh, I mean that helps my tenor saxophone. Yeah. So I was like, I want to sit beside him. Oh, I almost said it. I want to sit beside him. He knows who he is.

SPEAKER_03

My crush was in in high school, it was in band too. And I I actually I saw that he was doing it was an extracurricular fashion show, and you had to learn how to do a fashion show walk, and I saw that he was in it, so I was like trying to like do the fashion show in the hall while I was waiting for my parents, and they saw me doing it. They're like, come on, you can join, like join the fashion show. So that and they they wanted us to do a manly walk.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, for the men.

SPEAKER_03

And I could do the woman walk, no problem. But the manly walk, you know where you would kind of like grab your crotch a little and you kind of like step low. And I tried to do that. I looked like I was like grab your crotch and step low. It was a weird manly walk, and I couldn't do it. And they're like, unfortunately, we're gonna have to cut you.

SPEAKER_06

Shut up because you couldn't walk like I couldn't walk like a man. No, that's not a man. That's like a creepy ass predator. Why? Why were they I got questions?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's wild. Creepily stalk my.

SPEAKER_06

Should we say who our crush's names were? Wait, what grade are we talking about? Are you?

SPEAKER_03

I was grade like this was in high school.

SPEAKER_06

Oh no. I mean, I did have a crush on him in high school too, but my crush started when I was in grade seven. Oh, there you go. This particular individual.

SPEAKER_03

Are you gonna say it? I'm gonna say my name.

SPEAKER_06

I won't say the last name.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I'll say the first name. Okay. Should we say it three on three? We'll say it both our names. Okay. One, two, three.

SPEAKER_03

Mike. Generic boy names, Ian and Michael.

SPEAKER_07

Mike. Mike and Ian.

SPEAKER_03

My bad. Um can I tell you a story about my cuts? Yes. So it was in the uh I love that we got out of this from Angel Trumpets.

SPEAKER_06

Really hard left from biblical angel trumpets. Okay, here we go.

SPEAKER_03

Uh so it was in the school cafeteria. Okay. We had, you know, we were you would walk in the one door to the um where the um calf ladies would serve you what you wanted. It was a very thin, narrow kind of hallway. So you would walk in the one door, you would have your tray, you would get your food, you would go to the cash, cash out, and then walk out the door. I remember I had my tray and I went to go, I had paid for my um food. Yeah. But I forgot a pop. I really wanted a can of pop. So I grabbed the pop and I went to go back to pay for it. And my crush, Ian, walks by, but he comes in the door that I'm trying to exit, and our stomachs brushed up against each other. Whoa. And I got so flustered that I I turned beat red and I was like, didn't know what to do. I walked out with the can of pop, stole it. Stole it. Because I'm just so in my world, like, oh my god, our stomach's touched. And I didn't go back because I was so nervous that I'm like, I'm gonna be expelled for stealing this can of pop. And I was so worried, and then yeah, nothing happened. And nothing happened.

SPEAKER_06

Um, it just dawned on me, by the way. I know he was like, You yes, you do. I know him.

SPEAKER_03

Because didn't he also go at one point? Yes, yes, he was hot. You know, yeah, totally moving.

SPEAKER_06

I was I was gonna just say his last name, and I'm not going to, otherwise, you can bleep it. But like I'm correct at who I'm thinking, right? Yeah. Wait, let's say it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, should I just yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I was in love with him.

SPEAKER_06

A lot of people were.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

He was a nice guy. He was a nice guy. Was he? I don't know. Never talked to him. Really? You come on.

SPEAKER_03

Oh you can picture me in high school talking to the hot guy of high school.

SPEAKER_06

Fair enough.

SPEAKER_03

That everyone was in love with.

SPEAKER_06

Fair enough. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I pined after him from afar.

SPEAKER_06

From afar. Um, I talked to him. We were like casual friends. Was he a nice guy? Yeah, he was a really nice guy. I love that. Yeah, really, really nice guy. Um, yeah, um man. I did have a crush in high school. I feel like we just talked about this, but here we go. Where this I also, okay, my crush from afar.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

He looked like Mark Hoppice from Blink One 82.

SPEAKER_03

So, like, clearly.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like I just talked about this. Was this you?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe.

SPEAKER_06

Anyway, and do you remember? Do you remember when like those flirty little quizzes came to school?

SPEAKER_03

From like Cosmopolitan and stuff?

SPEAKER_06

No, no, no. It was like a company that would come around like Valentine's Day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And do like the whole like, who's your crush? Who's your match? Fill this out and find out. And it would spit out this list of like people who you could be matched with.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Was he on there?

SPEAKER_06

I found out his name because of that. And he was on my list. So one of my friends at the time, TK, he I would always point him out and be like, that's him, that's him. Like, oh my gosh. And he's like, Oh yeah, that's Adam. Like, I know him. And I'm like, What? And so I found out his name through TK and like fully, oh my gosh, was obsessed with him from afar. And then when he got on my list, I'm like, shut up, Adam. 100%. I'm like, here's my chance.

SPEAKER_03

I only had girls on mine. Although they did have like your your guy friends, like who you'd be good friends with. I think there was a guy section.

SPEAKER_06

I don't remember that, but yeah, I guess that makes sense. Makes that makes sense.

SPEAKER_03

It's very homophobic list quizzes.

SPEAKER_06

Big time. I was just consumed of the fact that Adam was on my list. Um, and I remember someone like I don't remember who it was or why, but someone fully outed me to him. And I was like, that girl is obsessed with you, and she doesn't even know she who you are. Um, so I was great, but he found out who I was, and then like we like randomly talked. And I remember this is so embarrassing. Oh my god. I love this, guys. I wasn't like overly cool in high school. I thought I was very cool. So in grade nine, my friends were like, let's go trick-or-treating one last time.

SPEAKER_03

I I we I support, right?

SPEAKER_06

Because like we were we were like when we were in high school, kids were still young, you know? So what are you saying?

SPEAKER_03

I think you should be able to trick-or-treat until you're like a legal adult.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I totally agree. Be a child as long as better that than like you know, drinking and fucking smoking and whatever. Anyways, so here we are, we're like 15 years old. 14, 15, sure, 14 or 15 years old. And I oh man, dressed up like the Blinkwin82 bunny, obviously. Obviously, yeah, and we were going around Dundas and we knock on this door.

SPEAKER_03

Who do you think opened the goddamn door? Mark Hoppas.

SPEAKER_06

Correct! And I just was like, this is the worst day of my life.

SPEAKER_03

I fully Were you in like a mask, or was it clearly it was clearly you?

SPEAKER_06

It was clearly me in like these bunny ears with like my orange backwards hat and like my little punk rot outfit, and I had like painted on like a little bunny nose.

SPEAKER_03

You should have been like, I'm a sexy bunny. My Playboy bunny.

SPEAKER_07

I was like a small boy. Ah!

SPEAKER_06

I mean you were I was a small boy in school, in high school, and I just fully turned around.

SPEAKER_03

No, you didn't. You made it so much worse.

SPEAKER_07

You made it so much worse. I just was like, nope, and I just I left. And my friends are like, where are you going? I'm like, this is the uh never again.

SPEAKER_06

That was the last time I trick-or-treated.

SPEAKER_03

That's hilarious.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, there you go.

SPEAKER_06

So hello, Adam, if you're listening, and Mike, if you're listening.

SPEAKER_03

And hi, Ian. Hello, Ian. Hello, Ian.

SPEAKER_06

Um, okay, let's talk about this real quick. Sorry, what is our time? What do we got?

SPEAKER_03

TR. I think we're 55.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, we'll end it. Uh no, it's a little bit more than a little bit. No, we'll end it. Okay, all right, okay. Who's like the person the one person that you wish you dated and got away?

SPEAKER_03

Because my answer is neither.

SPEAKER_06

Who's like the one that got away that you wish you dated?

SPEAKER_03

Like in high school?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

In probably would have been either Ian.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Oh, you just said his last name. Oh shit. We'll blur it. We'll blur that. We'll blur that.

SPEAKER_03

Or there was another guy. Yeah. Uh, I think his name was was it his name? I think his name was Tyson.

SPEAKER_07

Get out.

SPEAKER_03

Not not my friend Tyson, but it was another Tyson that he was a big, tall, strapping man. And wild. Oh, it was good.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So, so him. That's that's okay.

SPEAKER_03

But I also like didn't date anyone in high school. So it's not like the one that got away. I I mean, I there was also no one gay that I yeah, fair. Not a lot of peeps.

SPEAKER_06

Um, I uh man, I I I think they might listen. Oh and it's a they, I know, like two people, like two boys. I know. Um it started when we were very young. I can't believe I'm telling this story. Where how did we get here from Trumpet Horse?

SPEAKER_03

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so uh yes.

SPEAKER_03

You asked the instrument question.

SPEAKER_06

So true. And now here we are. I hope people are still listening. So these two boys I met very, very young. Um, like one of the guys I met in kindergarten. So it's kind of a dead giveaway if you're listening. Um, and the other boy, he came to our school in grade two. Also a dead giveaway if you're listening. There you go. And um, I'm not gonna lie, they fought over me. Oh when I was in grade five.

SPEAKER_01

Cute.

SPEAKER_06

In fact, um I remember I came home from school one day. Okay, and it was my birthday. Okay, and I walk in the door, and my dad was like smiling very sheepishly in the kitchen with this massive bouquet of flowers. Oh I was like, What's this? Like being like, Who is this for? And he's like, Why don't you read the card? Oh and I read the card, it's from one of these like boys, like we are children.

SPEAKER_03

And I was like, And he has bouquet money?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, for sure it was his parents. I mean, for so my dad was like, What the what's going on here? What's up with this? And so I'm like, Oh, you know, and I like tell him, like, you know, this boy and I, blah, blah, blah. The next day, I come home from school. Another one, a different, even larger bouquet of flowers. Oh, and I'm like, What? From the other boy.

SPEAKER_01

Stop.

SPEAKER_06

I'm not even kidding. I go to school, I'm like, you guys, like, this is too much. Like, what are you doing? Oh my god, stop. A child, like, we are children. And then they, of course, find out that the other one has done this, blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_03

They didn't know. So this wasn't like uh, I can I'm gonna one-up you're right.

SPEAKER_06

Now, now it's a thing. I come home. There are chocolates the next day.

SPEAKER_03

What are your parents saying? Oh, like what the fuck is going on?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah. The next day I go to school. Other boy has an even bigger box of chocolates for me. I go home. I go to school. One boy says, I'm gonna give you money. Gives me money.

SPEAKER_01

Amazing.

SPEAKER_06

I come home with all this money, and my mom's like, absolutely not. Oh, it was like like coins. Oh, okay. Like nickels and quarters and dimes. Like, we're children, right?

SPEAKER_03

This is hilarious.

SPEAKER_06

But my parents were like, absolutely not. This is stopping right now. That's so funny. Called both of their parents.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. I'm wait, you you showed your parents the money they gave you?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I I would have kept the money, I would have hid that.

SPEAKER_06

I'm like dying inside, so mortified that they called, and like both parents knew. Like, this was not, they were like, Yeah, we're in on it.

SPEAKER_03

Like, weird. And you're five?

SPEAKER_06

No, I wasn't five. I was in grade five. Oh, you were in the graph. It was like from grade two to grade five that like we, you know, wow.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Did anything ever happen with these boys?

SPEAKER_06

Um, no. So cut to like high school, you know, we all go our own paths, whatever, we all stay in touch, we're friends, we're we're still friends. Um, like I haven't talked to either of them. Like, I'll message one more than the other, but like And you think they listen? I think so. Hello, hello, you know who you are. So, and like they're both sweet, wonderful, have truly loved them my whole life, right? So in oh man, it must have been when I was like 22, 23.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Um, I happen to be single.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

And I run into them at both of them. Yeah. They were together.

SPEAKER_03

Are they best friends?

SPEAKER_06

They were, they are. They were. They are very good friends. Right. Right in a less stove. Yeah. So friends. Yeah, you totally are. You guys totally are. And um, they're there at the cons. And I'm like, hey, and like one's on one side, one's on the other.

SPEAKER_03

And it was just like you know where my mind is going right now.

SPEAKER_06

And we just started talking about how like we've all been in this weird, like, you know, I liked you and he liked you, and you liked us both. And like when I say we dated, I mean like child dated. Like I'm dating, I almost said his name. I'm dating this person, but I'm now I'm dating this person. Like that fully happened, like fully happened. Um, like holding hands on the bus, and like, you know, like whatever. And anyway, so we're like reminiscing about this, and they both just like they both just said some things, and I was very touched.

SPEAKER_03

Love it. And uh yeah, I I and that was your chance to be like let's go. We're we're doing it.

SPEAKER_06

So both of that, and like they're both married now and have you know beautiful, wonderful partners. Love it. Good for you both, but I will always hold a special place in my heart for you.

SPEAKER_01

That's hot.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Hope you guys are doing great.

SPEAKER_01

I love it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like fully. So there you go. I don't know how we got here.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't have any men pining over me.

SPEAKER_06

So listen.

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

unknown

What can I say?

SPEAKER_06

Um don't know how we got here.

SPEAKER_03

That whole like, I feel like we've been half an hour not talking about angel competition.

SPEAKER_06

I think you're correct. Yeah. Well, um, hope you enjoyed the walk down memory lane. And boys, if you're listening, shoe me a message. Hello, love.
