January 19, 2025 "From Godly Grief to a Godly Gift" 2 Corinthians 8:1-7. A sermon by Pastor Brent Bullard

Big Idea: Those who've given themselves first to the Lord are inspired to give joyfully, sacrificially, and willingly as a gracious act of love to bless His body

I. The Macedonian churches are already so dependent upon the Lord's provision that they can't wait to help be a means of provision to His body in Jerusalem (vv.1-5)
     a. They gave joyfully (vv.1-2)
     b. They gave sacrificially (v.3)
     c. They gave willingly (vv.4-5)

II. The Corinthian church is asked to continue giving to this act of grace out of this Godward love (vv.6-7)
