Speaker 1:

Hello, and welcome to another episode of Joining this journey by FaithLine. I am JJ, and I am here with you today with another weekly bible devotional. And I'm really excited to share what God has placed Amen on our hearts. For you today. Today's bible portion is in John chapter three verse sixteen. Through eighteen. For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For god did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes in him is not condemned. But he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name. Of the only begotten son of God. Have you ever been at the mall or supermarket or anywhere in public and you start to, like, scan the scene and this thought has come like, can God really love everyone? It's hard to wrap our heads around the reality of god's kind of love. Love the world. I barely love the person that took my parking space. Come on, let's be honest. But then then I stop and I think about myself and I realize believing in god's love for the world is not where I struggle. I struggle most with his love for me. This week's gospel reading recounts a late night discussion between Jesus and Nicolas, and reveals a powerful proclamation The very core of the gospel for god so loved the world that he gave his only son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have ever lasting life. I think this says everything we need to know when he writes. In this conversation with Nicolas Jesus lays bare the heart of God. Now stay with me for a minute. It's quite powerful. In this short verse, John three sixteen, is everything. Yet we doubt God's love for us. Why do we doubt? Why do I doubt? Could it be that you and I are keeping track of all our wrongs and feel that how can god love me? I mean, everything that has already been done and and sometimes we sit there like, god, have I not learned anything? All those thoughts and words that I have done and how I have failed god, I am confident that you will agree. That when Jesus says, he loves, you say me, me as well. I mean, I couldn't understand. He can love the world, but are you talking about that god loves me? We sit and sometimes we can feel like, how can he love me knowing who I am. I'm sure that you have felt this way many times, but I wish I can be there in front of you. To tell you and hug you and assure you. Yes. He loves you too. And I have found out that God loves me no matter what. And there is nothing that you and I can do to make him love us any less. How can we be so sure? Because god proves his love for us. And that while we're still sinners, Christ died for us. In Romans five verse eight. Scripture tells us that Jesus did not come to condemn us, but to save us. John three verse seventeen. He came to break the chains of the world and bring us to god. He shows a story after story of how he heals and offers an ocean of mercy to the center. What is it that we can rejoice in the forgiveness of the Odolter and the thief? But label our sin unforgivable. We find that everyone else's sin can be forgivable, but are unforgivable. What is keeping us from moving forward? Sometimes it could be even pride, even if we have covetorsons. We feel still that we cannot get close to Jesus. But Jesus wants you to know he loves you. That he came and died for your sins and loves you so much and he whispers, don't you know I am here for you too. John three sixteen might be the most popular scripture verse. But knowing and believing are two different things. Sometimes the more familiar averse is the less impact it has. But god's word is there to be an impact in our lives every single day and to let us know that we are forgiven through Jesus. I don't know about you, but I remember Sunday's school and how it taught us very young that God is love. To any of us understand what that meant? First Corinthians chapter thirteen, the scripture tells us what love is. And reveals the truth. If god is love, then a description of love is a description of god. Everything changes. When we recognize that John three sixteen is not about how much God loves us, but simply how. God loves us. It's time to let go of the guilt and receive God's love. I don't know what your list contains, what is in your past, and what is keeping you from receiving god's love today. But I want you to open your heart and know that there is true forgiveness for you no matter what you have done. God loves you and sent his only son for you. To die for you, to wash your sins away. Yes, there is forgiveness for you. Today. Receive it. Open your heart and say thank you god for I am forgiven. And not just say it through words, but say it believing it truly that you have been forgiven and that you are loved in the name of Jesus. Let's pray. Father in the name of Jesus, we come before you. You are the one who has created us. And your son came to redeem us. God. And your holy spirit is who is with us. That sanctifies us every single day. Thank you for your divine love. I know not only in my head, but I know in my heart that I am forgiven. That we are all forgiven. Please help us lord. Help us to believe if there is one struggling right now that is listening. Lord, may they receive the knowledge to know that you are love and they have been forgiven through your son. That no matter what, you love us, that you are there to help us god, you are our help. Help us lord to let go of all guilt. And may we all be free today to live a life of love and purpose for your kingdom, lord? Let us see who we are through your eyes, God, that today all lies of the enemy go away God. Everything that is telling us that there is no hope, that there is no forgiveness, may it leave in the name of Jesus? May our hearts and minds be set free? And may we receive the love of your son, Jesus? In our hearts, god, and in our minds. May we receive peace because you came to give us peace? May your truth set us free and let us see once and for all that we are loved by you, oh god. Thank you for your love. And thank you for always being there for us. For I know we are not alone. Thank you for being with us. And we pray in Jesus name, amen. I pray that this, by what the Votional has been a blessing to your life, and never forget from now on that God loves you, that he is there for you, and yes, you have been forgiven. Until next time. This is your host, JJ. God bless you.
